Welcome to Gun Gale Alternative: Iron Front

OOC Discord - IC
  • Gun Gale Online is a Virtual Reality MMO in the near future, that spawned from the FullDive system of Sword Art Online. Though the later would be remembered in Infamy across Japan and the World. Offering a VR experience unlike any other, the FullDive system allows one to feel various sensation across the spectrum. From a sensation of pain at being shot or ran through, to the taste of beer and cooking at the various player and NPC shops across a wide range of titles.

    With a largely unobtrusive Holographic internal UI, players are limited only in the capacity of the player character being randomly generated and locked to ones biological gender. However the range of character types and even uncanny likeness is wide spread. One can can even limitedly cosmetically change their appearance to a limited degree, or import a custom character from another game. Based on a post apocalyptic far future, players start in the crashed Space Battle Cruiser SBC Glocken, A massive spaceship that returned to planet Earth after a huge war had turned the environment into a wasteland. Below the spaceship lies the ruins of an ancient civilization full of automatic machines and mutant creatures where players can hunt for riches and glory. And the surrounding countryside is much the same, from beaches near a ruined city, to a wind swept desert where the carcasses of MBT's lay scattered across the surface, rolling plains and hilly mountains.

    Gun Gale attracts a wide assortment of players who can be spotted patrolling the halls and mesh walkways of the city, or out in the field where they work with or against other players. Scams and scalpers, honor and glory, all and more are to be found. And Gun Gale has one unusual feature that no other VRMMO has up to this point. A Pro Player system and the ability to turn in game currency into real cash. While the game itself costs 3000 Yen a month to play, it is possible with enough commitment to make a modest living from the game, or spare cash in the least. Conversely, one can use real world money to gain in game currency.

    Over the course of your adventures in GGO you have or will make connections with other people given the need of a Squadron to stay safe from PK'ers or PVE threats in the ruins and wastelands. And these connections will be vital in the episodic RP to come. With Gun, Explosive or Photon Sword in hand, may you find dependable allies and find the wealth in hand.

    Gun Gale Online utilizes the soul-less logout, in which the user can immediately log-out in safe zones, but in the field the body remains soul-less for a period of time and then the user is logged out. In the soul-less state, the user can be killed and have their items stolen, if their body is left unguarded. GGO also makes use of a bullet line system, in which when a finger touches the trigger a red line showing the rough trajectory of the round heading for you can be shown. There are some skills that go around or limit the effect of this however. Plus seeing a line doesn't mean being able to dodge.

  • Q: What are the post quality and expectations?
    A: At least once a week, I will be aiming for more than that but once is good enough to keep you in. Post quality is expected to be two paragraphs minimum. Pretty standard for Iwaku.

    Q: What are Classes and Skills?
    A: Please read down below. If you are asking what they are in general, GGO has a stat system and skills, rather than be tedious with it I'm going about it like this, the skills should be more seen as things your PC can do or that showcases a bit in how they stat. If you have more questions hit me up in the OOC Discord.

    Q: What Server are we in and do characters from the various anime seasons count?
    A: Japanese Server. Events of the prior installments have happened and don't concern us, timeline wise we are around the 4th Squad Jam which has not been covered in Medium past the LN which is still ongoing. So thus I will be making up things as we go along. Thus for now, the PC's of other works may be known factors but will likely not factor into this RP which is more based upon the Alternative Anime rather than the SAO main.

    Q: I never seen/read/heard, can I join? What do I need to know?
    A: Of course you can join. Even if you are a brand new Orange name, I won't mind. As to what you need to know. Nothing really, you can be a total noob and I ooc wise will help you decide weapons if you don't know about that. The only thing you need to know is you are playing an ultrarealistic VR game, that isn't as punishing as say Tarkov.

    Q: PVP?
    A: This RP's main focus will be PVE and "PVP", as in the bulk of what you fight will be AI enemies, CPU enemies and "Players". If any two or group of actual players get into it, then the matter will be revisited.

    Q: What do you mean by an Episodic Plotline?
    A: How it sounds, we'll be focused on minor or near term goals that will bit by bit get resolved and lead into the main event, which shall be all the players in one Squadron facing off against teams, admins and AI's as part of a grand tournament worth a lot of money.

    Q: How many characters can I have?
    A: As many as you can control, but in practical terms say a max of two if you so desire. One is what you are, well required to have if you wish to RP.

    Q: Can I make a skill of my own that isn't on your list?
    A: While I've put a bit of time and effort on this list, I do not have all the answers. All that I require is that you run your idea across me and wait for my approval before you add it.

    Q: Why only 4 skills?
    A: Balance. If I see a need or request for more then those numbers are subject to change.

    Q: What are the rules?
    A: Pretty much the usual. Take any sex scenes to black or do them on your own time, romance and relationships is fine and the VR Simulation is rather "advanced". Cursing I don't care about, I am the ultimate law of this RP, I don't mind debate but I don't have time to deal with people's shit. No godmodding, other Iwaku rules, gore isn't applicable because when shot, stabbed, cut in half, etc a red cross grid that glows takes the place of the wound and while you can "feel it", it is not so great as to actively disturb you from play. I reserve the right to update this list or turn it into an actual list at a later date.

    Q: Will there be "IRL" RP interactions?
    A: Of course, that is why I added that to the sheet, though this will happen as story/interactions allow, rather than being a focus.

    Q: My question isn't here?
    A: Use the OOC or DM me on Iwaku. Questions of note will be added to the list.

Skills And Classes

  • Class Proficiency showcases the weapon you mostly use into the following categories; Universal, Gunner, Duelist, Breacher, Sniper, Grenadier and Specialist.

    Universal are combat related abilities that are not favored/limited to a "Class". While Specialist are non-combat skills which are likewise not limited to any "class".

    The other five are tied to classes, which in turn are tied to weapon type(s) or function. As noted, GGO takes place in the far future and pretty much every gun from the SAA Revolver to the AK-15 are possible additions, so are Photon Swords, Plasma Grenades, and Optical Guns (aka blaster rifles) and exotic weapons and gear made from the Battle Cruisers very Armor, though these are exceptionally rare.

    There also are things in this world that aren't weapons, such as Stim shots, which up one's ability to withstand damage, Medpacs, which emit a glow to heal ones HP bar, Ballistic Shields, and most importantly Energy Shields and Disruptor Belts that protect against Optical Weapons.

    Basic When making a sheet, list as shown in this example - Breacher, Shotgun; Gunner, Machine Gun; Duelist, Pistol etc I will help you name or find an actual weapon if need be. Basic types of weapons and general info are as follows;

    Submachine Guns: (SMG's) are high capacity rapid fire weapons that use pistol caliber ammunition.

    Machine Guns: fill a variety of roles and come in a number of roles from the LMG, GPMG and SAW. Regardless of type they almost always use intermediate or full size rounds, are belt or high capacity magazine fed and have a tremendous rate of fire with terrible accuracy. They are made to blanket and suppress an area.

    Assault Rifles: Weapons that use Intermediate rounds and typically a box magazine, falling in-between the Machine Gun and SMG, accuracy and stopping power varies widely depending on type.

    Optical Rifles: Shoots light based energy beams that are rather effective at hunting Mobs. Because of how prolific these weapons are with new players and in general, defensive equipment can be used to disperse the damage of optical weapons, making them ineffective against players. Optical guns are all given fanciful names and shapes. Generally lighter in weight with smaller magazines and greater accuracy, these laser guns still have a place, though most veteran players tend to get rid of these for traditional guns typically.

    Include a Shield Generator, or disruptor belt in your character sheet in gear/equipment.

    I purposely added this here to trip up players to make sure who read. A new player can be pardoned for not having this but need to make note To acquire

    Sniper Rifles: Typically full sized rifle rounds or larger, Anti-Tank Rifles, Battle Rifles and traditional Sniper rifles all fall under here. With a typically slow rate of fire and limited ammunition they are very long ranged and accurate.

    Handguns:
    Typically use small ammunition rounds, nothing special to note here minus such weapons have limited range and accuracy

    Shotguns: Loaded with large cannisters, primarily shrouded in plastic, they fire pellets or slugs. Shotguns are typically only close range weapons with tremendous power and limited capacity.

    Grenade Launchers: Weapons that fire large explosive shells, Grenade Launchers can use an assortment of rounds and smoke grenades to attack or conceal. Given the large size of the rounds, ammo capacity is very limited. Unsafe to use at close range.

    Rocket Launchers: A chemically fired Rocket, typically limited to smaller weapons, very heavy and limited in rounds like the Grenade Launcher, unsafe to use at close range, fairly rare.

    Melee Weapons: Any weapon that is used from melee and makes sense for a shooter to have, be it a combat knife, bayonet or photon blade.

    Grenades: Standard pull and throw, or press and throw hand grenades, smoke, plasma and frag are all possibilities.

  • -No Weapon Type Limit-

    Tenacity: When normally encountering a lethal situation you will survive with 10% Hp left. Once reduced the ability does not reset till you are healed to 75% of HP at least.

    Weapon Master: Allows you to equip a 2nd Primary class weapon.

    Topographic Master: Your character has a more detailed map of an area and may be given special info by the DM in practice.

    Martyr: Provided you have a grenade or explosive weapon, upon death you will drop a live explosive, detonating on your position as your body fades.

    Acrobatics: Like the daring young man atop the flying trapeze, your movements are very agile, you can roll, spin, dodge and in some cases parkour with relative ease.

    Army Combatant: You are a master at hand to hand combat, only a fellow combatant can hold up to you in a melee fight.

    Sonic Sprint: For brief durations you can run at insane speeds leaving others in the dust, and keep up with some vehicles too.

    Uncanny Sense: You have a chance to detect hidden enemies when they are about to engage you with some form of bullet line delay. Find them before they find you.

    Blood Hound: An enemy spotted by your hud, that does not go into water or has a concealment ability/cloaking device will leave a "trail" towards where they were last headed, this effect lasts for twenty minutes.

    Grit: Damage sustained is delayed for a few seconds. Damage can prevented if healed before its triggered.

  • - Machine Guns and Optical Weapons-

    Nerves of Steel: You do not flinch in the line of fire, hits to you do not throw off your already limited aim. Now let those rounds go downrange.

    Heavy Weapons: A special skill of the Gunner, A Machine Gun not enough for you? How about walking around with an M2, Kord, other heavy machine gun or even a rotary Gatling gun? Cover becomes a suggestion. But do so does anything that requires you to do more than walk.

    Superior Suppression: You can briefly ignore weapon heat for three minutes every twenty minutes allowing for sustained fully automatic fire.

    Lock'n'Load: Reload times on machinegun weapons are cut in half when in use by you for two minutes every twenty minutes. Prevents any chance of a jam during those two minutes.

    Power Cell Compensation: Can modify the power settings of an Optical Rifle to be more like a normal rifle against shielded targets at cost to ammo.

    Power Cell Overload: Can convert a power cell into a grenade

    Dazzler: Can overload the Optical Weapon to get a Machinegun level rate of fire while keeping accuracy, weapon over heats and cools down once used and will not be functional for the next three minutes in exchange.

  • -Handguns, Photon Swords and Knives-

    Akimbo: The ability to wield two duelist weapons simultaneously with little drawback.

    Cloak and Dagger: Can conceal weapons expertly and deploy them with little warning from sleeves or coat.

    Slaughter: By cutting an enemy you can gain a burst of speed to movement till you have missed or the first hit enemy expires.

    High Noon: You have significantly improved accuracy and range with handguns.

    Banzai Blitz: While not all can deflect bullets like the Black Swordsman, you can capture his spirit and endure gunfire so long as your HP holds in a Saber charge.

    Quick Draw: You have a significant delay in bullet line detection to a foe when drawing on them till your first shot has been fired.

    Mirrored Blade: Allows the user to use high strength alloy or focusing crystals to improve the cutting ability of a Photon Sword or melee cutting weapon permantly.

  • -Shotgun-

    I'm the Juggernaut!: You are able to equip yourself with Juggernaut heavy armor, the best protection in the game, though it slows movement speed to a walking pace. Most weapons will have to work hard to penetrate.

    Knock em down!: Your rounds can stagger those who are under the effect of an ability that prevents knockback or wound sensation.

    Recoil?: You are so used to the firepower of your shotgun that it does not slow you down and leads to less disruption to your aiming circle.

    Riot Control: You can equip and use arm mounted shields to soak up damage so you can get closer.

    Skeet: You can gain an estimated trajectory towards objects being thrown toward you to better blast them

  • -Sniper, Battle, AT Rifles-

    Hawk Eye: You have great perception and can pick out targets and hidden enemies at a distance with your naked eye, effectively doubling the view range and zoom of scopes.

    One Shot Two Kills: Your round can penetrate a target or hard obstacle to hit an object behind.

    Cripple: You can temporarily cripple the appendages of an enemy by shooting them there, till they receive or heal themselves.

    Distraction: You can give off a false map ping of your location to trick another player

    Concealment: By use of natural features or cloaking shroud, you can hide your presence if you can escape after being detected.

    Sniper Touch: You leave no bullet line, by knowing your way around guns in the real world, your touch on the rifle is so light and instant that no one knows about the line till its already been shot.

    Text

  • -Grenade Launcher, Hand thrown Explosives-

    Blanket Fire: Increase weapon reload and fire rate for two minutes, followed by a minute of no fire from launcher type. Can only be used once every half hour.

    Over the Horizon: Great radio communication range and drop down map view allows you to fire grenades behind cover or from far away with aid of a spotter.

    Blast Warning: Given proximity warning to *all* explosive attacks.

    Trip Wire: Can rig explosive shells or grenades to wires to use as traps

    Wet storage: All stored explosives cannot be set off in a chain reaction against you, back of rocket launchers are damp to absorb most back blast.

  • -Non Combat Skills-

    Patron Saint: When healing an Ally you take less damage from hostile action.

    Spare the Dying: If you can reach a player who has dipped into the red before they die you can stabilize and save them.

    Medic: While everyone can use first aid kits and healing items, the Medic has a much greater effectiveness with it and restores a larger pool of HP.

    Weapon Creation: Can craft weapons from Raw Materials

    Blade Creation: Can craft bladed weapons...

    Item Creation: Can craft items...

    Explosives Creation: Can craft explosives...

    Negotiation: Can engage in conversation with neutral and friendly AI and CPU and barter for lower prices or special permissions.

    Persuasion: See Negotiation and change the way you talk.

    Listener: In towns you can actively pick up on conversations near you and filter out ones you do not wish to hear.

    Swimming: Given GGO slowly kills most people who go into water of any good depth or even shallow pools, the lack of loot, or enemies, swimming is a rare skill, as a bonus water contact doesn't kill you and you can tread deep bodies provided your stamina holds up.

    Mechanic: Can use tool kits to fix up and repair an assortment of vehicles.

    Power Armor Training: Allows you to wear the 2nd best armor in the game with no lost speed.

    Cooking: Yes, cooking, you are in an MMO that you can smell and TASTE things, why wouldn't you want some good food? Though its a skill not many take up unless they run a bar or food stall to make money, otherwise you can get plenty of food from NPC's, though not world first quality.

Name: Miura, Hikari

Real Life Height: 5'4" Weight: 117lbs

Age: 22

In-Game Appearance:

1620750989851.png

In-Game Name: Dr. Akita

In-Game Height: 5'6" Weight: 122lbs

Personality: Hikari, or better known here by the name of Doctor Akita, is a long time GGO player, having picked the game up shortly upon release. She has loved it ever since and wants others to understand these good times. A bit lazy in what she does and almost bored in her facial expressions, she soon took to wearing her checkered purple BDU with a high neck sports jacket painted the same.

Akita doesn't take kindly to those who give the game a bad name and Rep, trying to stir players away from scams and bad apples, especially females, given how rare they are in this game. A bit of a nosey person, she will listen in to conversation around her, or make her way into them if she sees a need. Mostly she uses this for information gathering.

Akita knows a bit about the game and together with her ally she is one of the game's information brokers, she also takes pride in being a pro player. Pretty Average in combat situations, she is rather brave and will wade out into fire to save a down ally. Because of this she prefers group play and has worked with a number of Squadrons in raids. Iron Front contains many hidden features that have yet to be released and she has a drive to be part of whatever tests and events come to pass. Not as a participant but as a vanguard.

Akita is also known to have a rather emotional voice at times that carries her feelings in tone, yet she has a poker face that betrays next to no emotion, leaving some confused in direct talks, least she is angry, annoyed or excited. In the real world she was once a waitress and has no wish to do any work outside of GGO, and while a bit lazy and looking for the easy way out, she has a good head on her shoulders and takes time out from the game to try keeping somewhat in shape.

Can be a persuasive speaker and leads from the back.

Biography: Hikari was a rather normal girl, with a love for hair dye since she got out of high school, there were no notable issues other than small rebelliousness. She however did suffer from a nervous condition which kept her from making facial expressions without some issue, a fact she was made fun of for. This didn't get to her too much, but she did start to try finding the most "efficient" way around things and developed a dislike for most people. One that developed into a nasty habit of listening in on others and using dirt against them. She spent a lot of time in the nurse's station in an attempt to avoid class, or made herself useful in tending wounds.

Not having done well enough to place in a university she would take up a job at a restaurant as a waitress which she did not do so well at and game to hate. Plugging into her VR headset and picking up a new game called Gun Gale Online, she instantly became hooked and was floored at the notion one could make money by playing this game. Getting an Avatar she liked the look of, Hikari chose the username Dr. Akita, partially inspired from her school days and putting points into first aid and endurance, she would unlock special traits suited to her name.

For the next two years she would make something of a name for herself, by shepherding new players and gaining details on other people around her, information that was for sale. With the new player influx and hidden files for the still in release expansion, Dr. Akita would gather some of her older contacts including one moody and cool looking guy with two handguns that she had worked with before a few times, a guy that is found "cool" by more than a few people in the game, Deca_Dent, or Deca.

She was tired of having to find a Squadron or trade her way into content, content she knew was hidden in the files, waiting to be unleashed. And she would not be trading the information, but harvesting it. He would be the Public face and Squadron leader but she would handle all the actual running of it and the orders as need be. For the past couple of weeks she has been hard at work trying to recruit people for the Squadron alongside Deca.

Real Life Appearance:

1620763804265.png

Name: Okada, Hideji

Real Life Height: 5'10" Weight: 140lbs

Age: 28

In-Game Appearance:

1620763891999.png

In-Game Name: Deca_Dent (Deca to most)

In-Game Height: 6' Weight: 160lbs

Personality: Hideji or Deca is a mild manner man with an eye for talent, composed, cool and ever marching into fire, he endures the weight upon his shoulders with a strong determination. Short and terse in his words, he is always the "cool guy" even down to his battle style and sheer presence.

In reality, Hideji is just tired, his job is a lot of work and he just doesn't get most people, or is tired of the bragging they do, thinking they are hot shit. As Deca he can get away with just shooting them, and he knows enough from his job to put on the airs of a leader. In truth he just likes to battle and to let off some steam, and talking with the CPU and AI's that run the city is refreshing, they are to the point and as terse as he is and know a lot.

An honest and hard working man, he is rather straight and direct with others and can provide helpful criticism. He however if not for how intimidating he looks, is rather easy to go along with things and lacks an assertive personality. In game he seems to see shooting others in style, the same as handing out a pinkslip or sending a would be star away. He comes across as aloof at most times but this seems to be a natural response to hectic situations. He has a great understanding of the game and uses a mix of handguns so he has an "ideal" setup for PVP and PVE.

Tends to travel lightly so he can carry loot drops for the team. Never is unfair with sharing the spoils.

Biography: Hideji is a mild mannered business man that grew up in the Kansai area, with above average grades and a serious no-nonsense manner, he was noted for being an agreeable student in spite of how intimidating he looked. He currently works at a Talent Agency that mostly deals with music labels and licensing. Being something of an avid gamer if other things do not pull him away, Hideji found the VRMMO scene to his liking but found the effort needed for some of the games to be too much or not as interesting, till he found GGO at least.

On his off days or afternoons he tends to plug into GGO which he picked up around the same time as the first BoB. Entering the contest he made it to selections and took out a few opponents before being defeated by a sniper. This luck and theme has carried on constantly, but he never seems to hold a grudge over it. Primarily acting in game as a gunman or lone wonderer, many mistake his unease as aloofness and coupled with his occasional poses and terse responses, he is often taken as being a "lone gunman". Because of this fame and his intimidating presence he often finds himself wanting to wander away from others.

Using these "walks" to talk to the CPU's and AI's he found their nature to be rather agreeable and has gained much information and negotiation ability with them and is even allowed into a few special zones within the hub city, which in turn adds to his popularity. Given the combination of these factors he was always "hired" into a company and would lead and shoot from the front given the limited range of his weapons. He is a hero by necessity rather than design and the fact he plays it off naturally leads to a better opinion about him to others.

With the latest expansion he was hoping to find a Squadron to join where his skills would be useful, whenever that content was added, when the Medic girl found him. Listening to her proposition, he didn't consider founding a Squadron, but if she was willing to do the grunt work, then this was the least he could do, though so Akita would not be over worked he decided to actually try being something of a leader and to help in recruitment as well, if she would cover the city then he would cover the bars and central hub. So far, even if she was being selfish, she was the sort of person he could tolerate. And that content wasn't going to find and beat itself, and even if the AI would give him answers he wasn't a one man army.

Class Proficiency: Duelist - Handgun

Weapons:

Optical Gun, Megatek E-5 Enforcer Pistol: A high-powered low capacity plasma pistol, has a well liked reputation as far as optical guns go.
H&K SFP9-M, a 9mm parabellum handgun with a 20 round magazine.
Combat Knife

Gear and Equipment:

Stim Packs x3
First Aid kit x2
Spare Magazines and energy cells.

In-Game

Appearance:

Name: "Savage" Jack
Height: 165.3 cm (5 ft 5 in)
Weight: 70 Kg (155 Lbs)

Personality:

Real Life
In the flesh, Takenaka is your average salary man. Not making a fuss out of minor inconveniences or being chewed out by his superiors. He takes the mundane of life in stride with an apathetic resignation. Avoiding additional work that may be handed to him, and the social gatherings of the work place. He's the definition of a solitary character down to the T in isolation. Not having any interests or hobbies outside of Iron Front and his casual reading. He doesn't get excited about sports, celebrities, travelings, or anything else that would seem exciting to the common person. Polite in the few awkward times that he's forced to talk, he is otherwise dead silent and communicates only by sight and body language.

In-Game
Takenaka didn't earn the nickname "Savage" Jack by being himself. No, if anything the person that is "Savage" Jack is completely alien to the idea of Watanabe Takenaka. Loud, boisterous, and shouting obscenities in the face of the enemy. He's everything you wouldn't expect out of the real Takenaka. Unforgiving, he relies on deception and preys on weaknesses of others. Trolling and harassment being a specialty of his. In one part the image of "Savage" Jack is all an act upheld through practice. In another it's the supressed side of Takenaka that would otherwise be deemed "inappropriate" by his peers and workplace. Allowed to be expressed in full via Jack, due to the anonymity of the game. Though, yet another part may be something far far darker.

Biography:

Takenaka started Iron Front just as any other GunGale subscriber did, curious about the new expansion. Having previously tailored his original account to be a tradesman primarily and a medic secondary. He was excited to try his hand at a far more combat focused build. Opting for the Gunner proficiency, at first it was a shock to be amidst the action and hail of bullets. There was a clear distinction between providing cover fire as a medic and leading the charge against the enemy as a Gunner. With time, he got over his initial moments of combat haze and confusion before really beginning to enjoy the expansion. Though, that time was short lived following an invite from an unknown team.

Thinking it would be like any other random band formed for greater loot and experience. Things soon spiraled out of control when Takenaka failed to measure up to the team's expectations. After a round of insults and being ridiculed for his mistakes, Takenaka had had enough and decided he was going to leave the party and give it up for the day. Upon hearing this, he was promptly removed from the team for being a "griefer". Then told he had a "ten second head start". The realization of which only sunk in after the first five. Afterwards, while he tried to persuade them to be reasonable. They readied their arms and gunned him down.

However, it didn't end there. They purposely gave him aid only to torture and prolong his suffering. Knowing full well that he had his best gear on and desperately clung to it. The masochistic display continued for a few hours, before Takenaka relented and logged out. Reduced to a puddle of sweat and tears on his bed, he called in sick the next day for work. It would be a week before he managed up the nerve to log back on and face the reality of having lost everything. In spite of this cruel chain of events, his demons were not finished with him. A few days of grinding back what he had lost, he received a message from one of the party members.

Mocking him for his past pleading with them to spare him, he was about to block their messages when they mentioned his location. Shocked, and on the verge of terrified he soon spotted them in the trees behind him. Choosing to log versus endure another torture session. He forfeited all that he had earned up to that point in hopes of regaining it later. Try as he might however, he couldn't shake the band from hunting him down every time he managed to log in. As time went on, weeks turned to months without relent from his stalkers. And in that time despair slowly hardened, taking on the jaded outline of hatred.

~~~
Several months later and the maniac "Jack" was fashioned. The result of countless deaths and suicidal trial after trial. The aftermath saw Takenaka getting revenge on the rogue party who had tormented him. When it finally came down to a battle of wills his had proven the more consistent. Every free moment he had was used to observe, track, and learn about the band. Acquiring their real names, addresses, people they knew. He relayed all of this to them as a means of psychological warfare. Killing them when they were alone, and ambushing them when they least expected it. Takenaka harassed and trolled them to a degree far greater than they had managed against him. Inevitably causing them to quit the game for the most part, he soon found himself without a purpose or direction in Iron Front. His initial wonder and excitement ruined by his experience with them, would eventually give rise to a new pursuit.
Listing himself as a "mercenary" or "gun for hire" Takenaka under the guise of Jack took any job that came his way. No matter how dangerous or suicidal. A lot of the time it was simply work aiding a team tackle a boss. Other times, it was being hired as a distraction to rob another team of the opportunity for loot. His most frequent work however was in seeking revenge for wrong done by so called "griefers". This is the work he took the most enjoyment in and eventually got his title of "Savage" Jack from. Ruthless in his executions and tactics, the reputation soon saw him hunting players and ambushing teams more than any other kind of work.
Class Proficiency: Breacher
Weapons:
Primary - Whatever Jack can get his grubby mitts on.
Secondary - KS-23 (Rare)
Gear and Equipment:
Disruptor Belt
Shotgun Shell Rack (x3)
Shotgun Shell Bandolier (x8)
F-1 grenade (x2)
Smoke Bombs (x2)
Rocket Winch
The rocket winch is made up of several parts. The base of the device is a winch with a long wire wrapped around it, which is tens of meters long. At the end of the wire is the rocket (the base of which is connected to a narrow cylinder), which has 4 retractable grips/hooks that extend out when the rocket is launched
Zero-Type Helmet System
A suit system that connects with a personal mini air conditioner to maintain a constant temperature as well as being able to filter urine and moisture collected from the exhaust pipes into drinkable water. Offers limited night vision capabilities, alongside protection from CS agents.
Variety Shells
Not your typical slugs, but useful for a variety of situations. These are rare and difficult to come by even among 23mm shells. Given this, at times they cost as much as a standard quality firearm. Due to this, they're only ever used when absolutely necessary. In all other cases Jack opts to use what the enemy leaves behind on their corpses.
Legal
1) "Barrikada" («Баррикада», "Barricade"): Cartridge with solid steel projectile able to destroy the engine block of a car at up to 100 meters.
2) "Zvezda" («Звезда», "Star"): Flash-bang round.
3) "Siren'-7" («Сирень-7», "Lilac"): Tear gas grenade with CS agent.
4) "PV-22 (ПВ-22): Grenade launching cartridge.
Illegal
1) "Shrapnel-10" («Шрапнель-10») or "Flechette": Buckshot round with 10-meter effective range.
These rounds were deemed controversial due to their cruelty in the World Wars and afterwards. When use is detected In-Game subsequent rounds are two to three times as unforgiving on the weapons durability. Possibly even leading to dreaded "jamming". This is in addition to the potential backlash of the rounds themselves. On top of being exceedingly rare, Jack has reserved these types of rounds for "special" individuals who he deems beyond scum.
Decoy Balloon
The decoy balloons are deployed by dropping one or more small containers, out of which a balloon arises and the compressed air spreads throughout the balloon to inflate it. They contain enough air inside to stay low to the ground but not fly away.
Traits:
Acrobatics
Knock em down!
Relationships:
Igarashi, “Emie” Enjirou - Eineomy800: Knows of him only from his antics in the previous BoB. Has personally nicknamed him the BoB Clown or "Diogenes". Has gotten several laughing sessions in re-watching his displays of insanity. More specifically the reactions of everyone accompanying him. He kept his eye on this squad in the Squad Jams and would have liked to see them place higher, but predicted their eventual end. No one has taken a contract out on him.
Doesn't know of them IRL.
Okada, Hideji - Deca_Dent: Knows of him from reputation and having watched all the previous BoB ten times over. Has never been approached with a legitimate contract regarding Deca, but has had a few sore losers try to hire him to enact their personal vendettas. Has yet to ever meet the man, but considers him a formidable opponent if the the day should ever arrive.
Doesn't know of them IRL.
Ito, Cassidy - Codename Blush: Jack has never heard of them.
"Ghost Shot": Jack has had numerous contracts dealing with tracking and hunting the illustrious "Ghost Shot". Each contract has ended in the exact same way more or less. The hit usually results in him tackling an individual or team who confess to not being the actual "Ghost Shot", but simply have been using the name for its repute. Generally, every "Ghost Shot" Jack has gone up against has been an amateur in one way or another, and has lead him to believe the title is a mythical one adopted by unoriginal cowards and Pkers who couldn't come up with a gimmick of their own.
Doesn't know of them IRL.
Akiyama, Chiaki and Hirohito: The sister reminds Jack of his earlier days in GGO. When the game was more about having fun instead of... Jack thinks she could make a decent ally, even if she fails to follow orders in favor of attaining "views". Jack doesn't understand the appeal in that, but he was never one for attention. The brother... Could do with learning to keep his distance. That, and getting his hands dirty. Jack can tell a practiced smile from a genuine one.
Does not know either IRL.
Name: AsuraAssault (Asura)
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 130 lb
Personality:
IRL
Airi is fairly meek, and prefers to remain out of the center of attention. She tends to speak softly and prefers not to go outside without reason. She has few friends, but is willing to go fairly far to help the ones she does have. When she speaks, she has trouble maintaining eye contact. She makes most of her spending money between GGO and her streaming platform, although she doesn't like to talk about the streaming or acknowledge in any way that it exists in real life, often becoming incredibly embarrassed when it is brought up.
Outside of GGO, her primary hobbies are parkour and models. While she's not terribly into anime, she's more than happy to while away a weekend putting together anime-related models. When she goes parkouring, she often chooses to do it out in the wilderness or in less-frequented locations. More often than not, this means the wilderness near where she lives.
Airi is almost always cautious about her actions, sometimes to the point of indecisiveness. If she needs to choose something major, she prefers to take her time about it.
In-game
Airi's Asura persona is so starkly different that even she is surprised by what she does sometimes. Where Airi is meek and timid, Asura is bold and almost recklessly courageous. While Airi is careful, Asura is spontaneous, and liable to try all sorts of risky stunts simply for the rush of it all.
Asura is fairly well-known for enjoying messing with others. While she won't directly do anything too mean to them, she's more than happy to toy with people if the situation allows. While streams are running, she does her very best not to break persona at all, albeit with little difficulty unless something out of the ordinary happens.
When she gets into a fight that she seriously wants to win, or is working with a team, she prefers to take a more passive role as a spotter, only taking shots of opportunity before she moves to find a new spot to conceal herself.
Biography:
Airi was born to a businessman's family on the edge of a small city. For the first two years of her life, she was showered with love and affection by her parents, until her father lost his job in a sudden economic drop. Without the primary breadwinner of the family to bring home money, both of her parents were forced to find work, severely reducing the amount of time she could spend with them. And to make matters worse, she got stuck with one crappy babysitter after another.
Between the lack of easy and fun interaction with other humans and the tendency of children to be nasty to each other, Airi quickly became withdrawn, hardly going out when she didn't need to. During this period, she got hooked on video games, and a few years later, when she was entering middle school, she discovered that she could make money by streaming games for others to watch.
At first, her channel was small and consisted mostly of smaller, more peaceful games with peaceful game contents. However, as Airi grew more and more confident, the contents of the channel began to change to more and more violent games and daredevil contents. By the time Airi was in high school, she had a middling channel capable of paying for her schooling.
Coming out of high school, she discovered she really enjoyed parkour and similar sports, and eventually figured out a track in the woods on the edge of town. She entered college for a degree, soon after which GGO launched. She tried the game and instantly loved it. It was her first venture into VR gaming, but it felt incredible, especially with the sensory rush she could experience with little risk to her life.
She ended up eventually swapping out the general-purpose VR helmet for a special streaming helmet so that she could start streaming the game, and quickly found that the game had explosive popularity. Some time later, she was involved in a server event, and was fortunate enough to be the first to find a new single-player dungeon related to the event. At the end of the dungeon, she was able to loot the Mark V Optical Rifle, which became her new primary signature weapon. She's been playing since, and has amassed a fair amount of in-game wealth. The proceeds between redeeming in-game credits and streaming are more than enough to pay for her living expenses, although she'll likely need to find some other way of making money at some point. Popularity doesn't last forever, after all.
Class Proficiency: Sniper
Weapons:
Primary Weapon: Mark V Optical Laser Rifle, 10x magnification scope.
The Mark V Optical Laser Rifle is an incredibly rare optical sniper rifle. The rifle converges multiple optical beams to create a force similar to that of a traditional sniper rifle, and able to penetrate personal shielding devices. The lasers fired by the rifle travel at roughly 700 MPH, with five shots per power cell. The rifle experiences no bullet drop, and has a greater maximum range than most sniper rifles.
Secondary Weapon: M1911A1 .45 pistol.
Gear and Equipment: Odd weapons and items you may have that make sense from within the game, one item must be included here.
4 power cells
2 7-round clips of .45 ammunition
Grappling hook and rope
Camo poncho
Light armor
Rangefinder
Variable 10/30/50x monocular
Age: 20
EQcZ-gCXsAAc5Sz.png
In-Game Name: ConamiKode (Many call her Kodi)
In-Game Height: 5'7 Weight: 134
Personality: Koda is a pretty unremarkable person if you really look at it. She's a new hire fresh out of school and entering the work force. She's friends with a lot of the other girls at her work, and is particularly fond of going out for drinks after a long day at work. She is responsible enough, and is actually applauded for her efficiency of work. Truth be told, this is simply because she's in a rush to get back to what she likes doing. Her organizational skills are second to none, and her skills with something like Excel are exceptional. Often times, she will be given a task that is supposed to take all day (according to her supervisor) and finish it within a few minutes thanks to a short cut or a function that is hidden. Then she spends the rest of the day still working on spreadsheets, though these are for fun.
Koda isn't open about her time playing games, but she does her best to enjoy it even when she isn't playing. She is most well known around forums or wikis as an editor and researcher. Whenever a new dungeon or raid comes out, she tries her best to research as in depth as she can about drop rates, enemy resistances, dungeon modifiers, and so much more. All the info she captures she analyzes in those spreadsheets at work and collaborates with others online about it. In terms of forum community, ConamiKode is a well known name. But in game, it isn't unlikely for someone to pass her by without a second thought.
The only real difference between Koda irl and online is that she is far more vocal about her passion in the game than she is in real life. She actually keeps it somewhat hidden, knowing most of her friends wouldn't understand at all. She loves her friends and the random stuff they gossip about, but they don't share the same interests as far as hobbies go.
Biography: Koda played baseball in High School. Well for her freshman year at least. Unfortunately, she was injured in her first game, really badly, and wasn't able to play much more after that. She spent the rest of the year in a knee brace. However she still wanted to be close to the game, and managed to find a position as the manager for the boys team. Wanting to take part in the game to some capacity, she began taking notes on the players. Baseball was fortunate for her as the game was really all about numbers. Unlike so many other sports where so many other factors came in to play, with Baseball you have a lot more of a chance to calculate odds and probability.
By forcing a run here, you can safely get a runner home with an out, or this batter frequently favors his left side, so send your fielders to cover, and so on. She was really good at this. Like, really good. The coach would ask for her insight about certain teams, team members would ask her what they should focus on. Sometimes she'd say to work on their strengths and ensure they were a strong relief pitcher, or cover their fielding because the team lacked the skills there. Her schools team was fantastic, making it all the way to nationals. Koda was happy, but she missed the chance to be in the experience all because of her leg.
Later towards the end of the year, she heard some of the boys in her class talking about the VR craze. She had heard about it, but always played it off as childish or for boys. But she heard them talking about "How realistic it was," and "I actually felt like I was out of breath from running away." Was it really that accurate to life? She hadn't played any sports in so long, she was missing it. It was an expensive impulse buy, but she had been saving up for quite a while. So she logged on. In her first few minutes she had managed to get lost in a PvP zone and was fired at. She ran away as fast as she could. She was upset and scared and... excited... She hadn't done something like this in a long time. She went on to message boards in hopes to get advice and was shocked by how much information there was on the game. As well as how poorly some of it was documented.
With the season being over, and school almost out, she spent the majority of her time playing and learning, eventually becoming one of the foremost documenters and posters on message boards. She didn't really focus too heavily on PvP. There were plenty of people on that, and she was still traumatized from her first time playing, but her diligence and note taking made grinding insanely efficient. She even
Name: Cassidy Ito
Height: 5'8''
Weight: 123 lbs
Age: 23
In-Game Appearance:
Q25ZyjF.png
In-Game Name: Codename Blush
In-Game Height: 5'4''
Weight: 113 lbs
Personality:
RL: Cassidy can be a real bitch. She's unpleasant, discordant, and rude. That isn't to say she can't be gotten along with. It just means she doesn't put up with others' shit, despite dolling out her own. She's a selfish person to her core, so unless you have something she needs, she likely won't really give you the time of day. And if she is, she's simply going through the motions, and just lying, as she doesn't ever care about anything that she doesn't personally gain something from.
In-game: Cassidy -or- Blush is quite similar to her real-life self, though perhaps, more quiet. Much more quiet, as she's quite the "lone wolf" type. Literally. Being of the Sniper class, Blush is the type to do things on her own, and her own way. She's very forceful when it comes to what she wants, and any negotiations of people who seek her services. But beyond that, Blush isn't known for her words, but her sure-shot snipes. That's how she really speaks. Her no-nonsense, get-things-done personality is well known. Beyond needing her, most steer clear of her. She gives off an unfriendly vibe.
And although it is yet unknown, the one that people call "Ghost Shot" is Blush. Ghost Shot is a cold-blooded player killer that many are wary of. Even going so far as to speak of horror stories about him or her. Ghost Shot never speaks and kills without warning and mercy.
Biography:
Cassidy doesn't know her birth parents. Her earliest memory is being in a "orphanage" of sorts, lovingly called The Shack. A man ran the place, "looking after" the kids. Really, he trained them to do his dirty work. Actually, he could barely bother; the older kids were tasked with training the younger ones. So Cassidy became a courier for drugs, illegal substances and fire arms, the like. And delving a bit into petty thievery.
It wasn't that she was abused living in The Shack. The man didn't really do anything like that, he just wasn't the nicest or most loving "father", but to her, and the kids, he was father all the same. And she grow to love him and her "siblings" in a way.
Cassidy learned from an older boy and picked up on a lot of his street-rat skills, becoming quite good at the "job." Needless to say, doing all these jobs that skirted the law meant she had to escape police when they were called. She got good at that, too. For her, this existence was all the world was. Running along the filthy back alleys, speaking in hushed tones with other ill sorts. Dealing and trading under darkness. It was life. There wasn't any schooling beyond haphazard lessons on reading and writing and meager maths and language. Only the necessities.
Before long Cassidy grew and found herself sampling a lot of the goods. In which she became addicted to drugs, alcohol, and smoking. Really anything bad, and nothing good. So she started pocketing what she could, money, too. All to fuel her addictions.
Either Father never noticed, or he didn't care. Probs a lot of the kids did something similar, since that was just the "culture" around The Shack. Speaking of, money was kinda easy to come by, as the business, so to speak, was lucrative, but The Shack was as crummy and run-down as ever. Maybe Father liked it that way. Rarely things, beyond food, were bought for the children and The Shack. However, one day, seeking an avenue to turn her addictive personality, Cassidy spotted an ad for an upcoming VRMMO game. It... sparked her interest. Or at least enough to know it was probably better for her than drugs. So, gathering up all the willpower she had, Cassidy stopped buying drugs for herself for awhile, instead, amassing enough money to buy this VRMMO game and the peripherals that was necessary to play it on the day it dropped. Her Father noticed, but like the man was, never really said anything beyond, "Just make sure it doesn't affect your work."
"It won't Father," Cassidy replied. He nodded with a huff, and she reclined back, and put the headset on. That was her first foray into GGO.
As Cassidy has quite the addictive personality she became hooked immediately. Unlike what she said, it did affect her work. She stopped running as many jobs, and the cash flow dropped. That was the first time Cassidy had ever seen her father fly off the handle like that. The man burst into her room -that he had given her since she had previously been such a good courier. Then proceeded to throw things around and rage. He grabbed her headset and threatened it. Cassidy grabbed at him crying her eyes out, tugging on his arms, promising she would never fail in her duties again, so long as he didn't break her precious game.
It seemed her pathetic sniveling worked. He backed off, setting it down. "Never again, girl," he grunted, pointing his finger in her face. She nodded furiously, sniffling, wiping tears from her face. Then he left. Since then Cassidy never was late or forgot any arrangements. And her father gave her a few huffs of approval, even going so far as to pat her head. Which gave her a sense of pride she didn't quite understand.
Truth be told, it is hard af. Cassidy is as addicted to the game as ever. So it's hard for her to juggle her duties and the game, but she manages it. In a way, her bad habits have exacerbated. The smoking, drugging, and drinking have helped settle her nerves. Luckily though, surprisingly, she's been able to make money from playing the game. Which has done a lot to offset everything. If anything, her father turned out to be quite surprised and happy from the money she made from the game. He hasn't even mentioned it since.
In-game, Cassidy has become quite prolific with a propensity towards rare and powerful items. Her loner-playstyle is well noted. And she acts a lot like she does irl. Cassidy's handle, Codename Blush, is basically a merc. She gets many offers to join up on squads for various in-game quests or battles or tourneys. So long as it's worthwhile, her services can be bought. She's known as the "Dragon Sniper" due to her crazy hot snipes and the fact she wields the Dragoon. She acquired her unique cloak on one of those unique, dangerous event raids of the game. She traded for the Dragoon sniper to someone who had found it on one of those event raids, by trading a unique submachine gun she had found on the same event raid.
She also goes by another name - Ghost Shot. A savage, notorious, bloodthirsty Player Killer. Though, no one yet knows Blush and Ghost Shot are one in the same, as Ghost Shot's player killing is sporadic, and as soon as "he" appears he's gone. But true to herself, Cassidy is as selfish in-game as she is irl, so she isn't above straight up merking fools to steal their shit. Ghost Shot is somewhat of a myth in the server, as no one has been able to determine who he is, or if a real "Ghost Shot" even exists. This ghost tale is, more or less, just some lighthearted fun amongst the players.
Class Proficiency: Sniper
Weapons:
Primary:
Dragoon
A unique .50 cal Barrett sniper with a painted dragon motif. Adds a burning effect that is capable of catching cloth or flammable things on fire, but not people, unless they're wearing something flammable.
Secondary: "Blush's" photon sword
Has a pink glow. Used exclusively for deterring those that get too close.
Appearance-Modification Cloak
- A unique camo cloak that distorts and changes the wearer's appearance when hooded/"activated". Changes Blush's hair color and general body shape.
Traits:
Hawk Eye: You have great perception and can pick out targets and hidden enemies at a distance with your naked eye, effectively doubling the view range and zoom of scopes.
Distraction: You can give off a false map ping of your location to trick another player
Concealment: By use of natural features or cloaking shroud, you can hide your presence if you can escape after being detected.
Bolt: When first engaged by enemy players or CPU, gains a massive temporary boost in speed and leaves after images in her wake while running to a new position. Ability resets upon escape or with a 10 minute cooldown. (unique)
Relationships: tbd
Other:
She has respect for other noteworthy players, but doesn't like them.
Blush is pretty smart about her pking. Her cloak gives her white hair. And after she pks she tends to make a quick exit - "disappear". Hence the name "Ghost Shot".
Age: 28
In-Game Name: Eineomy800 (Goes by “Eine” or “E800”)
In-Game Height: 4”10’ Weight: 90lbs
Personality:
Enjirou, or Emie, is generally the same in and outside of the game, he’s a young man with a lot of hope and not much else. Kind, happy-go-lucky, and sometimes a little goofy, he is the lively and eccentric type that is a little out of place in regular Japanese society. Though it does synergize well with his career. He cares a great deal about others and has quite firm ideals, perhaps that’s why he is rarely stressed in his day-to-day life.
In-game, he’s open-minded and can often laugh most things off, definitely treating VRMMOs like any other game. Similar to his real-life situation, Eine is a little out of place in GGO as well. He enjoys doing things “for science”, has a tendency to employ strange tactics, and is a bit mismatched from the overall backdrop of the game in terms of attitude. He enjoys doing experiments with game mechanics and practicing awesome but impractical strategies, as well as “adventuring” to various fancy corners of the map to take photos and selfies. Akin to his battle style, he enjoys high places the most. Like his real-life career, he enjoys being a mentor figure to newbies and will protect them with his (in-game) life.
In more “serious” battles, he does pack up his goofy antics and shows considerable skill as a veteran player. Although these occasions are rare, he exerts a calm and collective demeanor, but still retains an air of cheerfulness. Some find it eerie or strange just because of how unusual it is.
He doesn’t ever not deny that he never catfished male players.
Biography:
Enjirou, or Emie Igarashi, was born in Japan but studied abroad in America for 12 years from middle school to graduate school. He mainly studied psychology and philosophies pertaining to VR technology, working in assistant research of VR psychotherapy and various thought experiments. When SAO, the first commercial VRMMO was announced, he returned to Japan for an opportunity to be a beta tester (in the name of research), which led him to fall in love with VRMMOs. In Japan, he picked up a side job of being an English tutor.
Emie was lucky to have escaped SAO’s official release as he was working on a graduation thesis at the time, but one of his students was trapped in SAO, and eventually passed away. Despite this, he powered on and still believed that VR technology could do good for the world, and went on to play ALfheilm Online when it launched, where he fell in love with the flight system and became one of the first players to master voluntary flight.
He was told about GGO by one of his students, who struggled in VR games and sought help from his tutor, who brought up his VRMMO experiences before. GGO greatly interested him to the point where he converted his ALO avatar and switched over to it as a main game, though one thing he missed greatly was flying. Einenomy800, or “Eine”, was a bit of a strange player. He was obsessed with aerial combat of all forms and cobbled together a strange skill set that specialized in it.
He failed, many times, it worked, sometimes, people laughed at him, many times. But he always enjoyed it greatly and encouraged any newbies he picked up to try and find their own playstyle. He participated in BoB at every chance, but his wacky antics usually get him eliminated early on - it does make a good show though. When Squad Jams were introduced, he often gathered newbies into a squad and offered to teach them about the game through the tournament. They never make it too far, obviously, but most of the others are thankful and had fun with it. His team has made it into the official Squad Jam event once, where Eine quickly became the sole survivor of his team. He showed off his ambush skills against an opposing team that was targeting him, managing to take out both close and far range combatants in one swoop with his swiftness and airborne proficiency, before getting sniped immediately.
His performance was noted by some, and his reputation as the “guy who only does stupid stunts” changed a bit after that. Some invitations from Squadrons were extended, but Eine hasn’t quite made up his mind yet.
Class Proficiency: Universal - Shotgun
Weapons:
Primary - “Rey” Remington Model895 (Dual-Mode Remington 870, with magazine capability) & “Rana” Remington Model870 (M870 Breacher)
Secondary - Muramasa F9 (Photon Sword)
Gear and Equipment:
Shield Generator
Grapple Hook and Rope Set
Pilot Goggles with Bulletproof Lens
Shotgun Magazines
Shotgun Shells
Stim Packs x4
Blast Grenades x4
Flashbangs x4
Traits:
Acrobatics - Aerial Dance: Advanced specialization of acrobatics, grants additional agility and damage resistance while airborne, also reduces fall damage.
Critical Wounding: Limbs that you detach from opponents will take more time to regenerate depending on the force used in the strike and the amount of health lost in the attack.
Kinetic Survey: Affected by recoil forces more heavily, but lessens recoil damage. In addition, like bullet lines, allows the visualization of the direction and strength of recoil and pressure forces in the form of various sized arrows.
Termination Mode (Shotgun): Is able to equip a second proficient weapon, the second weapon's weighting effect is reduced by a portion. Slightly increases reload and firing speed of the proficient weapon. Allows the firing of both weapons simultaneously as long as both have useable ammunition.
Relationships:
AsuraAssult - A sniper who scored a kill on him during Squad Jams, Eine harbors no hard feelings towards her and thinks the way she relocates after shots are similar to his - albeit boring. He was more focused on "did you see my awesome quintuple kill?", though he's decently sure the other isn't too interested.
OcelotChika & Healz_on_Wheelz - Eine knows that they are siblings in real life, but not much else. He found out about them after one of his "training sessions" were recorded and put online. Since then, he occasionally makes a cameo on Chika's channel with her brother, usually doing some insane ploy that makes the title look like outright clickbait. It has thoroughly desensitized him towards things like "simps" and "mean comments".
Deca_Dence - Knows him only as a BoB participant, initial impressions being "grumpy old man". Somewhat salty about how "top 10 places to take selfies with clouds" is not considered valuable information.
Codename Blush - Knows her as a BoB and Squad Jam participant, finds it strange that someone of her disposition participates in team-based events at all.
Other:
  • The appearance of his avatar is heavily due to it being an ALO import character, including the tattoo, he was an Undine supporter who specialized in fast emergency healing and mitigation.
  • Due to his playstyle, he was pretty constantly broke in the beginning of his GGO journey. Catfishing may or may not have been an option.
  • His main source of income are gifts from his former students who went on to become better players, his duel-mode shotgun and high-grade protective goggles are some of these.
  • His history and performance in various skirmishes had some nickname him “Shotgun Fairy”.
  • Has one specific spot in the overworld on a canyon where he practices blasting himself across distances, some people camp there just to loot off of him. He stopped carrying anything important after the first week.
  • The ign "Einenomy800" is a reference to the Terminator film series and T-800.
Real Life: Josuke is a hardworking athletic kid, he is popular at school and does his best at all times. He's pretty serious when it comes to athletics and school because his parents want him to get into a good university and then eventually get a good job. He doesn't have a lot of time to mess around and goof off like his friends do. He cares about his friends a lot and will do what he can to help and protect them.
In Game: Blitz is more fun open minded and can relax a bit more. While he does want to win and will take things seriously when he needs too, he likes to be able to just play the game and relax a little bit. The game helps him take his mind off of everything going on in the real world. Though he does take things easy in the game sometimes, he is also very competitive and doesn't like to lose.
Biography:
Josuke comes from a wealthy family, though his family has money Josuke's parents have put a lot of pressure on him to make sure that he makes his own. While obviously they have given him money and plenty of things as he has grown up, they don't want Josuke to rely on their money, they also don't plan on allowing him to just live off of the family money. His parents have put a lot of pressure on him to be good academically and athletically to make sure he can get into a good school and to make sure that he can get a good job. Josuke is a great soccer player and a great student, while he loves soccer and likes school he hates all of the pressure that his parents put on him.
Josuke saved up enough money to buy all of the equipment he needed to play GGO, while he has played video games before he hasn't played any in virtual reality like GGO. He has only been playing for about three weeks but he is already getting better than other people have expected. He loves the game because it just keeps his mind off of everything going on in her personal life.
Personality:
Aloof, and rather tame even when in the heat of battle of GG, or in the slowly burning out war of real life. He's rather chilled and a great listener only chiming in when he feels he has something worth noting. Easily approachable by all means just not much a talker himself. However, he is a very pro team player and chides anyone who gets glory hound or greedy during such initiatives. However if one does get this soul to talk life they will realize he's just a very burnt-out man using the game as a nice distraction to have fun. However when in a particularly rough spot the instincts from his nightmare SAO days kick in, and sometimes he can go a little wild taking him quite a bit to pull back into reality.
Biography:
A college student who constantly overwhelmed with the pressure of his student, and classroom life. He currently works a warehouse job to keep his crippling school debt from overwhelming him. During the horrid events of SAO's entrapment, Shinjiro was one of many souls trapped in his youth to the monstrosities of the creator. He refuses to talk about those days as the reality of it was a lot darker than most think. However, he did survive and thus pushes to keep moving on. He still loves gaming, but he will never go near that particular game again. He has moved his avatar from it to GG though as a reminder that he did survive. He oddly seems to have no friends from his childhood as if they had all... disappeared.
Name: Chiaki Akiyama
Real Life Height: 5'5
Weight: 130 lbs
Age: 24
In-Game Appearance:
EtXNi_rUYAEVyeB.png
In-Game Name: OcelotChika
In-Game Height: 6'5
Weight: 200 lbs
Personality:
Real life: Chiaki is an assertive and competitive young woman who takes her gaming rather seriously. Unlike her brother, she's more concerned about accomplishing the game's mission over making friends. However, that doesn't mean she's all seriousness and broody. She's a nice girl and does like to communicate with her team members when they're not on a mission. Chiaki is also a very reserved, introverted person in real life who gets her social needs from online activity. She likes to give other people nicknames to tell them apart and to start building a more friendly relationship.
She likes gaming (with FPS being her favorite), baking, anime, and webcomics. She dislikes huge social events in real life (parties, weddings, etc), and giving presentations.
In-game: The only difference between the real life personality and the in game one is that in game Chiaki is more talkative and a lot more outgoing than her usual introverted self.
Biography:
Hirohito and Chiaki were born to two loving parents who didn't have a lot of money. Their jobs paid decently, with the two living paycheck to paycheck to support their family. Their lack of new age technology or the ability to participate in the current trends made Hirohito try to make up for it by being more friendly and outgoing. Chiaki became more shy and reserved, embarrassed that she lacked anything to make herself more popular or likeable with children her age. Though the two had their own circles of friends, Hirohito would find himself going out more often while Chiaki relaxed at home, reading or watching anime.
As the two got older, Chiaki and Hirohito both received a gaming console for Christmas. This would begin their love for gaming as a whole, giving the two something to bond over. The two had really wanted to play Sword Art Online and even begged their parents for it, but due to money restraints, the two never got the chance. However, as the events of SAO came to light, the two had never been so happy to be poor.
Chiaki ended up becoming more of a hardcore gamer with the hopes of becoming a popular Youtuber, whereas Hirohito would only play from time to time. He liked to be more of the jackass; the reason someone would get funny moments clips.
With the two combined, Chiaki's channel became fairly popular with her brother being a crowd favorite in the cases where he popped up. Though they're still not very well known, Chiaki still enjoys what she does (even preferring it that way) The most important part of gaming was to have fun with it. If her hobby turned into her job, then it would just feel like work. Hirohito also preferred that the gaming didn't turn into a full-time job sort of thing so he could separate work from play.
Now, Chiaki is a university student and her brother works a job to make ends meet. The two now reside in different cities, but when they managed to save up to afford VR headsets, they both purchased the new Gun Gale and started playing together whenever they could.
Personality:
Hirohito is a charismatic young man who loves to talk to people and make friends. He finds other people interesting and likes listening to their stories. Hirohito in real life is more reserved and tends to go with the flow of current events. He doesn't really go through life with plans; instead, he likes to see where the wind takes him and continue on the path. The only path he will refuse to take is one filled with drugs or violence. Not because he's a goody two shoes, but because he doesn't want to risk dying for some cheap thrills. If he's looking for thrills or to make another person feel good about themselves, he'll flirt with them or give them a genuine compliment.
His likes gaming, socializing, animals in general (except brown bears), flirting, and traveling. He dislikes being alone for long periods of times and people who are annoying or dickheads.
Name: Yasuda Gorou
Real Life Height: 6’1” Weight: 186 lbs
Age: 27
In-Game Appearance:
8BOUOO4.jpg
In-Game Name: GospelGorou
In-Game Height: 6’1” Weight: 186 lbs
Personality: In or out of the game, Yasuda is somewhat of a smartass. Yasuda always seems to have a comment for everything and is none too shy about it. He’s not exactly mean or cruel, but he is a tease and will give you a hard time for a chuckle. He doesn’t change all that much in or out of the game, using it primarily as a source of income as can be seen from his username containing his name and his avatar mimicking his real physique as well.
While he enjoys himself enough in the game, Yasuda started playing as an alternative to getting a “normal” job or going back to the army. As such, he’s remained mostly as a lone wolf sort. He proves to be dedicated, as some of his gear is rather high end and certainly required a fair amount of struggle and grinding. Still, he’s rather laid back for an army man, and is surprisingly helpful and cooperative despite keeping to his own. While his unsolicited remarks may be founded in taunting, they usually are also paired with a tip or advice and he is known to lend a hand if asked or if he has the time. Underneath it all, he’s a relatively kind person who does want to help out.
Biography: Yasuda was born in a small country town to relatively normal parentage. His father did construction and maintenance for the local prefecture and his mother taught at the high school everyone in town went to.
Yasuda spent his early days causing trouble with some of the other upstarts in the area. Going on adventures, exploring the local woods, fields and sometimes just staying out late to watch the stars. It was expansive, unknown, and exciting. How fun it was to just wonder what was out there; a far cry from his nice, albeit boring little town. That was initially why he wanted to join the military when he came of age.
The anime and comics made it seem like the most exciting path in life, and while as he grew older Yasuda realized it wasn’t quite as Rambo as he originally thought, it was still his set path. It was an adventure; a more exciting one than just studying and going to college.
When Yasuda graduated, he did just that and joined the JSDF, serving six years abroad, four as part of a peacekeeping force and two as part of international disaster relief. When he decided he wanted a break from the excitement, he retired and came home--then encountering a similar problem that caused him to leave.
While he took the time to enjoy the company of family and old friends, Yasuda quickly grew bored and uninspired. He attempted to get into “normal” work but absolutely hated it. However, Yasuda also didn’t really want to go back into military or paramilitary work, partly as while he wanted some excitement, his younger self wasn’t expecting the gravity of actual conflict. This period of bouncing around was when he picked up GGO.
It seemed like a nice median, at first something to motivate him to put up with droll day work. However, when Yasuda found out he could make money, and good money too, he started putting forward the dedication and regimen he had acquired from years of hard work. Slowly his income began to build as he raised through the leaderboards, becoming something of a drifter. To others, it was a game, but to Yasuda it was like returning to deployment in a new world with new wonders and without the stress or fear that came with it, a new adventure he could break from whenever he needed.
In-Game Name: Violen
In-Game Height: 5’7” Weight: 128 lbs
Kanako’s Personality: Kanako is somewhat timid and reserved; that quiet person that doesn’t say much unless spoken to, but greets you with a sweet tone and kind smile. While not much of a social butterfly, the girl is quite easy to get along with. She can be indecisive and easily flustered, but ultimately has a good heart and wants to be liked, so she’ll go a bit further for others than some. She has a certain charisma, in a ditzy sort of way, and is bright enough to maintain high marks while dedicating as much time as she does to GGO.
Violen’s Personality: Stark contrast to her real self, when Kanako logs onto GGO, she is quite literally a new person and separate entity. Violen is brash, eccentric, and some might even say toxic. She’s the kind of person that would kill you in a convoluted way just to laugh at you while you’re down; someone who enjoys the chaos of a fight and the anger from those who have lost. Violen lives to troll and destroy just for the shits and giggles of it.
Biography: Kanako had a relatively normal upbringing, albeit a stern one. Her parents were fairly pushy when it came to grades and demeanor, which initially led the girl to games like GGO for some escape. Her parents weren’t awful or mean, nor did Kanako even find their expectations unreasonable. She was a bright girl and it didn’t take much effort on her part to maintain her grades, though with the rigidity of her parents, it caused Kanako to become indecisive and hesitant with whatever she said or did.
Thus, games like GGO became perfect. When finished with her responsibilities, Kanako would plug in and enter a new world as a new person. Treating every game like an RPG, Kanako would log out and Violen would log in. Every hesitancy, every worry, every nerve would be gone as finally, the girl could do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted. Especially GGO, it was a place to let loose.
However, just as Kanako was a product of her environment, Violen was a product of her own. The internet isn’t always a nice place and especially in a game with player-versus-player combat, an ugly side was only natural. Violen started out boisterous and slowly grew more toxic. Nowadays, the username is a sporadic streamer, enraging unsuspecting and sometimes deserving players by ambushing them, shit-talking them, or even just setting a trap near some loot and watching the fireworks. Violen gets her stress relief from causing stress to others, and if a vein isn’t popping out of someone’s head, then it’s not really all that funny.
In-Game Appearance:
In-Game Name:
~KotoKitten~
In-Game Height:
5'7"
Weight:
157lbs
Personality:
Amalia is a bit of an introvert when it comes to meeting new people but when she get's to know a person she will start to open up and socialize. She's a very sweet and kind girl to the people she opens up to. Very loving and caring, and almost mothering to her friends. However she's also very protective of her friends and wont hesitate to crack a jerk in his head if need be. She tends to be very helpful and always willing to give a helping hand to those in need of one.
Whenever it comes to people Amalia doesn't know she's a bit of an introvert like stated earlier. She's a bit shy and tends to cower away from meeting new faces. Talking very few words to strangers depending on the situation she is put into. When her friends aren't around she's the type of person to go sit in a corner by herself until a friendly or familiar face comes around.
When in game however Amalia.... I mean ~KotoKitten~ (Or just Koto by her friends) not much of her personality is different except for the fact that hiding behind a persona has made her a little more open and talkative to strangers. Just a bit.
When it comes to anything romance related however, whether it be flirted with in game or in the real world, She's a big blushy mess. She's known to get all giddy and nervous in romantic encounters.
Biography:
Amalia had a pretty decent life living in a fairly wealthy family. Her mother was a actually a pretty well known cosplayer in Japan while her father was a successful practitioner and Sensei in Jiujitsu. She learned Jiujitsu from her father starting from a young age, which made it easier for her to deal with bullies while she was growing up and going through school.
Graduating from highschool at 17 she actually went straight into college. She went to learn culinary and piano. And at 21 she made it out of college with her degrees. After college she got a job working as a chef for an open grill sushi restaurant. Where she gained some popularity within her community for make delicious seafoods.
She also took on piano playing as a side hustle and was pretty good at it. She would play for plays and event that were held around her community and made a decent bit of spending money through this while she used all of her money she made from her actual job for bills and other important payments.
Eventually VR began to blow up around her and everyone was getting it, so she worked hard with her job and preforming for events around her community, and soon she had enough and got herself a FullDive unit. She explored her gaming options but couldn't find one that quite suited her until she found GGO and got sucked in.
In-Game Appearance:
In-Game Name: Handy_man
Height: 6'
Weight: 170
Personality:
Takeuchi is a naturally bright and cheerful person. Although he dislikes shoehorning his way into a conversation, he's more than happy to chat up anyone who is willing to talk to him. He's naturally supportive of those he views as friends or friendly acquaintances, and prefers to work in the background more than the foreground. He has difficulties forming attachments, however, making it somewhat difficult to make the leap from friendly acquaintance to friend.
Takeuchi is also fairly easy-going. While he'll compete seriously in events he enters, he doesn't really care if he loses. In fact, he almost prefers to be eliminated first in elimination events so that he can greet the others who are eliminated with a smile. And something sweet as a consolation prize if he can arrange it. Unfortunately, this easy-going nature means that he does very little to plan for the future, and can lead to behavior others would consider unwise or just straight flippant.
Takeuchi enjoys making handicrafts and gardening.
Biography:
Takeuchi was born to a non-descript family in Tokyo. His early childhood was just as non-descript as his parents. He blended in a little too well to the crowd, and nobody really took much note of him. He wasn't one of the popular kids, but he was frequently part of the groups around them. Entering middle school, Takeuchi discovered a love of making things with his hands, from simple handicrafts to more complex wooden carvings. He began making small handicraft projects and selling them for pocket money. By the time he graduated from middle school, Takeuchi had a fairly stable amount of money flowing, albeit not exactly an impressive amount.
During high school, he grew to dislike studying, and when he finally graduated, he moved out and found a job working at a local store, rather than going to college. Between his job and his handicrafts, he had enough money to live fairly comfortably and indulge in hobbies every once in a while. Around this time, VRMMOs were beginning to catch on, and one of his friends from high school convinced him to try out GGO. Although he didn't particularly enjoy the combat portions of the game, he tried crafting out of curiosity and found that he quite enjoyed it. And then the money started rolling in.
Amazed by how lucrative something so fun could be, Takeuchi started devoting more and more of his time to crafting in GGO, and a short while later, he found that he was pulling in enough to quit his job and do crafting things full-time in game. Fast forward a few years, and Takeuchi is one of the better crafters in the game, as well as one of the richest. He is currently enrolled in a tech school to get a blacksmithing/machining certification.
In-Game Name: Blitz Batter Bradley
Personality:
Kazuya is laid back and likes to have fun. He tends to not take public games too seriously. He is very cheerful and optimistic most of the time to most players he meets, especially ones who have just joined the game. He dislikes toxic behaviour between players, especially when it’s directed towards new players. He mostly plays a supportive role during team games, preferring to give covering fire and buffs from afar. Because of this, he was one of the members that had the lower kill counts in his old squadron but also easily had the highest assist score.
Kazuya greatly values camaraderie and friendship, which is why he was extremely devastated when the squadron disbanded due to real life reasons. Despite his best efforts to revive the squadron himself, there just wasn’t that many people interested in the baseball player aesthetic or perhaps if it was due to his own unorthodox playstyle. And now, he is just looking for a new squadron to play with.
Biography:
He started to play this game with a large group of friends who were part of his real life baseball team. They established themselves as the Blitz Batters, a bad themed squadron that used baseball inspired tactics, skills and cosmetics. Overtime, many of his friends started dropping out of the game for one reason or another. These days, only a few players know about the exploits of the Blitz Batters. While they weren’t incredibly exceptional in their performance, they still managed to reach the bottom of the scoredboards a few times despite being relatively new to the game.
