Name: Dr. Nathaniel Crippling
Age: 36
Appearance: Despite being a sophisticate individual, Crippling often looks disheveled nowadays. His brown hair, while often combed nicely, still has stray bits sticking out, giving him a wild look. He tries to shave, but doesn't often have the time and his chin wears a shadow of stubble. Crippling's build is lean, somewhat malnurished even, from his time running. There's a very nasty scar where his neck meets his shoulder on his left side, an unwanted souvenir from the wolf that attacked him. He has a curious device of his own invention strapped to his wrist, with a pair of buttons, a glass vial for a peculiar blue chemical, and rounded top, hiding the bright half-sphere inside.
Personality: Dr. Crippling is a very well-rounded scientist who's had a thirst for knowledge since he was a child. He's a brilliant, inventive man who has looked into just about every subject of science in that era. He's submitted dozens of patents to the Patent Offices of London, has invented various chemicals (including the one that gives him full control of himself), is a practiced hand in medicine and surgery, and has made numerous discoveries in his travels. Has a genuine desire to make himself a benefit to mankind, rather than a burden.
What makes you dangerous?: He's a werewolf. For the first five months of his condition he was like every other werewolf before, with no control over the monstrous illness. That makes him dangerous enough as it is. What's worse is the device on his wrist that gives him full control of his feral side. He never uses it, whoever, except to keep himself under control during the full moon, when he can't help but change.
Wanted for: The murder of 17 people across England, France, And some parts of Germany. Suspected in the deaths and injuries of several others. All done while in werewolf form.
Special Skills: Licensed Physician, adequate surgeon, has an intense understanding of complex machines and is an amateur inventor.
History: Nathaniel Crippling was once a famous inventor in London. Some even labeled him "The Next DaVinci". But he found that he had nothing more to learn staying in one place, and decided to travel, meet with other scientists, and explore new ideas. During one of his travels, he was attacked by a werewolf. The beast was killed not long after, but the body was never recovered for examination. Crippling, with his rational mind, did not think it had been a werewolf, but in fact some time of undiscovered canine.
Only after returning to London did the truth begin to become clear. He started having blackouts during the full moon, during which the beast within him commited terrible acts. It slowly dawned on him the truth of his condition, and he began to experiment with a means to cure it. He couldn't go to anyone to test this unbelievable, and horrible, disease, so he was all to himself to work on a cure. Unfortunately, he had to leave London before such success, the werewolf's actions somehow implicating him in the crimes.
He never did find a cure, but he discovered a chemical that made the condition managable. During the transformation, a werewolf's mind is overflowing with adrenaline. The chemical he invented is a powerful calming agent that makes him clear-minded enough to control his actions. Alas, it can't clear his name. Dr. Crippling went from being the greatest mind in England to being a wanted murderer in three countries.
He wants to redeem himself, wants to be useful again. Through his studies he's learned that only a weapon made of silver can kill a werewolf. Against anything else, he's immortal. So he travels in secret, helping anyone he can, waiting to know he's made up for all the wrong the beast has done, so he can take the single silver bullet in his gun, and have peace.
