Relationships
With her father, Navaya is very close. She trusts him completely, and is always glad to be around him. With her other relatives, she is fond of them but does not feel much like she belongs. Contrary to her quiet nature, she finds them to sometimes be overwhelming, but does not say so for fear of hurting their feelings - particularly the more hyper of the young ones. As for her mother, she has never met her and has no idea what happened to her. Other relatives, she has only met in passing when they came to Asgard to visit, or she has only heard of them by word of mouth.

Backstory...

Navaya was born many years ago, when the young prince Loki of Asgard fell in love with the sister of a vampire count from another realm. Her mother loved both her new infant daughter and Loki very much, but knew of her brother's strong dislike of her being with who he deemed as an 'outsider.' Someone with whom she would make impure heirs; the fact that Loki was a prince did not matter. In his eyes, it was absolute sacrilege for them to be together. A fact that he made known on numerous occasions - and with countless horrible comments towards both her, and towards her unborn child. Sensing the danger, Anastasia sent Loki away with Navaya not long after she was born. Although she made sure to name her first, it still broke her heart to see them leave. So much so, that before they left, she left Navaya with her necklace. A priceless and important heirloom in her family, she knew it was something that she wanted her infant daughter to have. Since that day, Navaya has not been able to see her mother once that she remembers. Only in dreams, does she ever vaguely hear her mother's voice. A small comfort, given that she wishes that she could see her again in person.

Since having been taken to Asgard by her father, Navaya has been living in the golden palace with her large family. While she is grateful for their presence, she still cannot help but to feel like she is the odd one there. The one who doesn't quite fit in with all the others.

This being the main reason, that she keeps to herself quite a bit of the time. When her smaller relatives or her cousin Rayleigh will "allow" it, that is.

As a child, Navaya enjoyed going outside to sit in the shade of the palace gardens with her books, to read and listen to the birds, which she seemed to be able to understand even though many doubted that she actually could. This is, also, about the time that it was discovered that if she spent too much time out in the sunlight - even under the spotty protection of her favorite tree - she would develop a sun-rash, similar to the kind of heat rash she developed when too close to a fire for too long.

Teen equivalent to now

In what would be the equivalent to teen years for Navaya, she began to stay inside much more. This being largely because of an incident with a noble's daughter, making fun of her for the horrible state that being in the sun put her in. Having tried to prove she could stay in direct sunlight for as long as the other girl could, it did not end very well for Navaya. Or for the other girl's family - as her father had them banished for attempting harm to his daughter. To Odin it was a stretch, but Loki was persistent, and the less-than-noble noble family were made to leave Asgard. So, although her heat and sun rash issues have lessened greatly over time, she finds it less embarrassing to herself if she just doesn't find out again. During the day, at least.

There are nights when she will go outside, simply because she is tired of being inside so long. The moonlight makes her feel more alive, and to her is like a breath of fresh air after being cooped up in a stuffy place. Despite her habit of reading, Navaya has yet to tie this into the fact that she has vampiric heritage. Or, found out what it does for her powers.

Even though the sun poses a problem to her, she hopes to one day travel to see other realms. And, perhaps, find out what happened to her mother. A closely guarded and painful secret, that she has yet to pry from her father.

.:: Powers and Abilities ::.

x High intelligence

x Turning into a bat.

x Inhuman strength that she has yet to discover.

x Short-term weather manipulation; namely storms and fog.

x Working on learning magic from her father.

x Ability to communicate with,most animals.

x Ability to walk on walls and ceilings.

x Immunity to most magic and diseases.

x Manipulation and creation of ice and snow, which she does not do often due to a lack of control of it.

x Darker form; and partial Jotun form. (To be worked on later)

.::
Weaknesses ::.

x Too many hours of being in the sunlight (direct or indirect) can make her sick. It can also cause a sun rash, and eventually burns. It can be enough to make her sicker much more quickly, or to cause terrible suffering, but she will not die - she is stuck in her torment until healed on her own or cured by some other means.

x Getting too close to a source of heat or fire can cause her a heat rash. It is not nearly as bad as a sun rash, but causes discomfort.

{ Given that she is still working on the mastery of her powers, neither of these things is likely to go away for awhile. }

x She is particularly weak to diseases and sicknesses common to vampires from Earth, as well as those to the people of Jotunheim.

x Her appearance in a mirror, unless magically enchanted otherwise, is blurry and a haze at best.

x If an animal is agitated, there is a chance it will not listen to her.

x High levels of stress of emotion can cause her powers to erupt in an unpredictable and potentially dangerous manner.

x Not having some amount of blood can cause problems for her vampiric side - erratic behavior, trouble thinking, and eventually something like a coma if it persists too long.

.:: Talents and Hobbies ::.

x Unrelated to magic, she is an excellent tree climber.

x Although she is too shy to let many people hear her, Navaya has a lovely singing voice.

x She is a quick learner, and has developed a beautiful script-type of writing.

x Sometimes, Navaya dabbles in sketching. Something that she's not too bad at.
