Within the world of Remnant, it has always been known there are things that can be explained, things that can be accepted, things that can't be and others that are debated on. Each kingdom does things differently and this is one of the things that has been accepted amongst the citizens, each kingdom dealing with their own set of problems. This includes the disappearance of Dust from Dust shops all across Remnant. Causing Dust to go through the roof. While it is believed to be known who is causing all of this, no one is able to locate the person. But this isn't the only issue, another issue is the Grimm. Monsters who have been fighting against humans and Faunus for as long as anyone could remember. As far as anyone knows, there are many different types of Grimm, but only a few have names and have been reported for some of the abilities they can do. However, the Grimm are still an enigma and the current kingdoms don't like that. Wanting to solve the Grimm problem as well as the Dust disappearance, a special project which had been resurrected after being abandoned decades before.

A project involving only the highest of military officers as well as Dust manufacturers. The project was given the proper name...Project Grimm. Nothing has really been said about this project, just it has something to do with Grimm, humans, Faunus, and injections. While there have been many failures, there have been a handful of successes, but they have been placed under heavy medicated comas. These beings were named Aura Grimm, mainly because they are considered the first creatures of Grimm to use Aura. Sadly, even with the most sophisticated technology and soldiers watching the patients every move. Some still managed to escape and have been living on the streets or living out with the other creatures of Grimm.

Years after the project was supposedly said to come to a halt because of the escaped patients causing an uproar within the facility where everything was being done. A number of Grimm had started to rise at an uncontrollable manner, creatures of Grimm that have never been seen before started to go on a rampage; the four schools were immediately attacked by waves upon waves of Grimm that even the teachers and headmasters were quickly overwhelmed. Eventually, the schools came crumbling down; some students were unable to escape the fighting but those who were able to escape thanks to the help of the teachers and headmasters now wander the land.

Many students during the attacks had come into witness the sight of how some of their own classmates were actually using powers of Grimm and have either come to hate or accept their classmates to work with them. Others who were able to escape have either given up their lives as Hunters and Huntresses after the death they witnessed while others plan to take back Remnant from the Grimm one creature at a time.

Years passed and present day has now come about the land of Remnant, nowadays the ordinary civilians show both fear and distrust to Hunters and Huntresses; believing it was their fault to this day as to why there are so many Grimm all around and the attacks becoming almost constant on any village or town. The only trust people put in nowadays is the military of Atlas, whenever the sight of a Hunter or Huntress comes about they are normally shunned and at times even run out of towns in riots all because of fear of Grimm possibly being attracted to them. All Hunters can do at this point is just remain in hiding and help from the shadows to protect the world from the Grimm as much as they possibly can all while attempting to find the truth behind who started the project all those years ago that caused so many Grimm to appear.

It had been about a day or two since Axel had reached Zramore, the long journey from Wakikata now to Zramore while avoiding suspicious people who might believe him to be a Hunter made the entire journey all that much more difficult. Now that he was at least in Vacuo, people here did not seem to care who was what and whatever anyone was doing as long as it did not disturb the peace. Without much lien to actually pay for a room at any kind of establishment, Axel was able to find some refuge at a small café/bar owned by an elderly man; in return for allowing Axel to stay here, he was to do the dishes and help serve customers as well as assist in the cooking. Finding such a thing simple enough to do, Axel had agreed to help out wherever and however he could or at least until he had figured out enough information about the nearby ruins of the old city of Vacuo before leaving.

During this time, Axel had been the first to be awake while the old man was still asleep at his home and since Axel slept upstairs at the café, he was also in charge of opening early and getting everything set up for the day before the old man got there. After brushing and suiting himself up in the black silk pants and white dress shirt, he made his way downstairs just to clean all of the tables while setting up several pots of coffee and tea ready for brewing for any customers that wanted anything. Around this time, the sun had still been rising and many people of the city were still asleep in their own beds which made things a bit easier to set everything up for the time being rather than have to deal with a rush of customers at the sametime.
However, since it was still far too early for large numbers of civilians to be walking around, this was also a perfect opportunity for many uncivilized people to wander around and commit crimes without the need to be worried as well. Three in particular people just so happen to decide to take that very opportunity as they entered the café soon after the 'Open' sign had flickered it's LED lights. Two males; one light skinned and the other dark skinned and a single female stepped into the room as they eyed the interior of the café while they approached the cash register where Axel had been wiping the entire counter. The three who were dressed from head to toe in an attire that clearly showed that they were not exactly the civilized type of people stepped up to the register only to have the middle male of the group lean over the counter with his gun dagger jabbed onto the counter as a clear sign of a threat to begin with.

Clearly showing no signs of fear to the fact that he was being threatened, Axel simply stood in front of the trio. "May I help you three?" With that being the only response the pink haired male gave in response to the threat, the light skinned male only laughed as he turned his head over his shoulder to his two companions. "You hear this loon?...Now, come on kid. You know damn well what I'm here for. If you're working here, then I'm sure the old geezer told you about us. We're here for the damn weekly pay." It was true, the old man did tell Axel about this; before he came along, the old man had been threatened multiple times in the past by this strange gang that demanded that he pay them everything he made in the current week to avoid the entire gang coming and wrecking havoc on the entire café and since the café was as small as it was it wasn't like he had any other employees to cover whenever he had the chance to be able to let anyone know about it or even have the money to pay someone to take café of the gang considering how large it was.
Even so, Axel stood there without even the slightest movement to the register and instead only kept still before placing three cups in front of the trio; immediately right after a kettle from behind him went off to signal the hot water was ready to be poured. "Let me get you three a cup of coffee first hm?" As the male spoke, he immediately turned his back the trio who all seemed rather confused before shrugging at one another while they waited for the free cup of coffee they were just offered. "Fine. But make it quick. We don't have a whole lot of time ya know." The same light skinned male spoke while he tapped the tip of the blade on the wooden counter making several marks into the wood as Axel had poured the boiling water into a filter for the beans to drip down coffee into a separate pot.

Blanche's caravan was stocked up with the last of the ammunition chests, ready for sale and departure after an hour of checking and refilling inventory. She had just returned from an extensive trip from Wakikata, a White Fang base to deliver goods, and the outskirts of Vacuo to sell off the last of the bullets her grandfather had tasked her with. Aside from some individuals who thought they were entitled to discounts because they were "special" in some way, things had gone well. Was she excited to serve those customers again? No. Was she going to anyway? Yes.

The Faunus wiped the sweat from her forehead with her gloved hand, taking out her notepad from her back pocket. to see what else she needed to do on her checklist.

'Count Stock in store

Make sure ammunition is accounted for

Balance the register

Clean the store

Stock the caravan

Get grandpa a cup of coffee from his favorite cafe pretty please'

Blanche sighed but giggled nonetheless. Hmph, she supposed she could bring him a cup of coffee. While she was there, she could a little something something for herself~ Her stomach demanded more breakfast!

She shoved the notebook back into her pocket then locked up the caravan nice and tight. Once she was certain it was secured, she returned the wagon she used for transport back to her grandfather's store then made a trip towards Old Man's cafe and bar.

"Old Man" was the elderly man whose cafe Blanche and her grandfather frequented. Xanthias, her grandfather, liked to come and get drunk during the evenings then return early morning for something to help his hangover. Blanche had to admit a cafe shop and bar was a pretty good idea. Good for the early morning folk and great for the late night bar hoppers.

Blanche had been told his name once, but she had forgotten. Since she had spoken to and grew comfortable around this man, she didn't have the heart to ask him his name again. So she called him "Old Man" to get around it. He seemed fine with it, and what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him.

She entered the shop, and much to her annoyance, there was already a small group of people. Blanche outwardly sighed. Couldn't she get to this damn cafe and there not be a line just once?

She took her place behind these taller people and waited, looking over their shoulders to see if the wait would be long...

Oh, was that a new employee? Fuck, she might have to wait longer.

Eventually, as coffee started to finally pour into the smaller pot till it had been completely filled; Axel had made sure to take off the first pot to replace it with another before finally turning to face the trio once again. Pouring each individual a cup of coffee without bothering to charge them anything for the time being, the male only watched as the three took sips from their coffee before nodding in approval of the drink. While the group of three continued to drink their coffee, Axel did take notice as to how another customer had stepped into the room from behind the trio; this time it appeared to had been a white haired Faunus female.

"If you three could please be on your way now...I do have another customer to attend to." Speaking up even while ignoring the fact that Axel had still not given the three the money that they were still demanding, the man in the middle placed his cup of coffee onto the counter before holding up the dagger gun towards Axel's chin with a smirk across his lips. "Now now. Don't think we forgot about the money. Open the register and get the money in the backroom from this week's pay. All of it." As the light skinned male threatened Axel, the male had ended up reaching slowly underneath the counter where he hid his own sheathed weapon so that customers wouldn't see it as well as for the old man not to know that Axel was able to fight. Silence was all that came from the male before the bells of the door ringing open slowly caught Axel's attention once more, this time rather it being another customer it was the old man.

"Stop being difficult Axel...My boy, just give the man his money already. We don't want anymore trouble as it is..." As the old man limped his way forward with his small walking stick, rather than approach Axel or even the trio; he progressed his way straight to the backroom to bring out a small black metal box that held only a few packets of lien. Exhaling a deep sigh, Axel only nodded his head while he released his grip on his weapon underneath the counter just to open the register and hand the trio the money they demanded. "Good. You better teach this kid the rules around here old man. If not, we'll take care of making sure he knows it next time...since you must be too old by now to even have any kind of memory. Hah!" As the trio took their money, they immediately took their leave from the café, not bothering to walk around the female Faunus; if she would not move, they would simply move her out of their way before heading to their bikes outside the café.

Meanwhile, back with Axel and the elderly man; the old man immediately wasted no time to hit the top of Axel's head with the larger end of the walking stick. "Come now Axel...! You should know better than to start trouble with those people. Next time those gang members come in here...just take the money out and leave it on the counter for them...You're still young...I would hate to see you throw your life away for some run down café I own..." As the old man spoke, Axel only raised his voice to speak a 'But' before being interrupted once again. "No buts..! You have your whole life ahead of you...and I am letting you stay here by helping me around the café, not starting up trouble with those ruffians...Now, enough of this. We have a customer, one in particular I know quite well mind you." With that last bit, the pink haired male only nodded his head in silence as a response before closing the empty register.

"Ah, Blanche. My child, I must apologize you had to witness such an act. I take it, you're here for the usual for your grandfather?" As the old man spoke, he turned his back to the young woman just to begin his progress to make the recipe of a special coffee that many people of Zramore loved to drink. "You look so thin my child. Here, let me get you something to eat...for all your trouble and as another way of thanks for all your grandfather has done for me. Axel! Go make that egg dish of yours. That one you made the other day? It had gotten quite a lot of customers enjoying it." After speaking about the dish that he knew quite well what the old man was talking about, Axel only nodded before heading off into the back where the kitchen was to prepare the very dish that was being spoken about. "How is your grandfather these days anyway Blanche? I haven't seen him in quite some time now. I get the whole traveling job thing, but he always had time in the past to visit me..." Finally, with his last words he had turned right around to place the cup of coffee that had been sealed in a form cup with a lid that was meant for to-go orders on the counter for Blanche to take.

He saw the caravan and bikes all pulled out by front of the cafe. But paid them little attention. It had been a long time since he last had a decent cup of coffee. As he walked past the caravan he caught a familiar scent. What was it? Someone else's private business. He would not intrude on strangers that way. And yet the smell seemed so familiar. A group of three came out and took to their bikes. Driving off with screeching tires.

As he entered the cafe, he was too wrapped up in trying to remember the smell that he did not notice the white haired girl in front of him. With gaze cast backwards, at the doorway, he walked forwards. And walked into the girl. It was only a slight bump as his reactions took hold and backed up to a safe distance.

"I am terribly sorry, miss," he said.

Quickly noticing the way she stood. He could see it. She was a fighter. That subtle confidence underneath her ordinary visage. And he had felt her Aura when he bumped into her. Or maybe not. Maybe he was just being paranoid. Nudara had spent too much time in conflict, in fights, at war against his father's company. It was becoming difficult to see people just as ordinary people. For a second his focus lingered on her yellow eyes.

Blanche couldn't believe what her eyes were showing her. The trio that had come before her were taking money from Old Man, barely leaving him with enough to stay open, if anything. How dare they do this! And to someone who couldn't fight back no less!

She moved to the side, knowing fully well that the elderly man would cane her if she did anything against these people. As much as she wanted to beat them down and teach them a lesson, she didn't want to trash Old Man's cafe. She knew he wouldn't be able to afford the costs and he'd be too stubborn to accept a check from her grandfather. So, she allowed herself to be a bystander, for now.

Blanche turned towards the two behind the counter, wanting to question the elder until she saw him bop the pink haired man with the end of his cane. She had been bopped before due to her behavior in the past, so she understood the employee's pain. At least their conversation gave her some insight on why he was letting himself be bullied.

That man was too sweet for his own good...

It was then Old Man started talking to her, apologizing for the scene she witnessed. He asked her questions and began preparing her order. Before Blanche could assure him he didn't need to trouble himself, he was already making Axel, his employee, cook an egg dish for her. Apparently it was popular, and Blanche didn't want to turn it away. She'd pay for it, even if it was rejected. Old Man really needed the income.

If the dish was as good as the elder was making it, she'd give Axel a tip as well. Definitely extra for him to sneak into the register.

"Grandpa has been really busy is all. You see, we have some special customers that make scheduled orders with us. They pay really well, so we want to keep them. Those same customers made a special order of 7 red dust shotgun shells for some really old fashioned guns. Production of these weapons ceased worldwide because they're so old, and since there's no jacket molders for them, grandpa has to do everything from scratch. Not to mention he and I gotta prepare stuff for me to sell in Wakikata. But, I promise you he'll make up for the lost visitation time once we're finished making those orders." She assured the older man with a smile.

It wasn't long before the bells chimed of another customer, said customer accidentally bumping into her. Blanche had to restrain herself from reflexively punching whoever walked into her, since it had become a natural instinct.

"Oh, no you're fine-" She paused when she turned to look at him, her brain recognizing the gold and some of the features on this person.

He was a Shreik, wasn't he? Faunus slave labor Shreik... White Fang had mentioned them, even described them to her so she could tip them off if she saw one of them.

She wasn't familiar with the man's name. All she knew was his daddy made a fortune off the labor of her people.

Blanche wanted to say something, but she would rather Old Man not bop her with his cane.

She wouldn't mention anything yet.

"You're fine." Blanche assured him, putting on her customer service smile. "No damage done." With that, moving to the side with her grandfather's order so she wouldn't be in the way anymore.

It hadn't taken too long before the old man had finished the order for Blanche's grandfather's order that he had poured the drink into a large form cup that had been made to keep the heat sealed within so that when someone drank it later on it would still be steaming hot. While the rest of the coffee he had made sure to pour it into a large metal container so that whenever more would be wanted, anyone could pour it out into a cup and still have it hot. It would be clear enough that the old man did not have much long to go before his time came by the simple sight of how everything he grabbed slightly shook from his trembling weakened hands due to age yet still he did not spill a single drop of the coffee outside. Placing the cup onto the counter for Blanche to take, he listened as to how her and her grandfather had some sort of new customer and an order of shotgun shells for old weaponry.
Even though the old man was well aware of the type of business Blanche and her grandfather did as well that they were well enough to defend themselves if anything were to happen, it did not stop the fact that he still worried for them both especially since he had known Blanche ever since she was still a little child. "That's great to hear, though remember to be careful Blanche. The type of work you and your father do can attract quite the number of dangerous people...I can't imagine how I could live if anything were to happen to either of you." As the old man spoke with worry in his voice, he quickly changed his attitude when the sound of the bells to the front door chimed.

Directing his attention towards the front of the café only to find what appeared to had been a dark haired male. "Hello sir. How may I help you?" Questioning the male, the old man remained behind the counter as he prepared for whatever the male decided to order for.

---

Meanwhile, back in the kitchen; Axel had already grabbed a hold of a pan and had it heating up on the gas stove with a small amount of oil in it as well. While it heated up, he had focused on cracking four eggs into a bowel and whisking it together as well as chopping small bits of vegetables such as carrots and bits of parsley before whisking it into the bowel with the eggs. By the time the scent of the pan being overly hot came to his attention, Axel had poured the entire bowel into the pan followed by a few bits of cooked bacon. Cooking the egg till it had been cooked fully on one side before using a spatula to fold it in half and allowing it to cook for another minute or so before finally lifting the entire plate of the omelet. Checking to make sure that he had made it correctly and that there weren't any burnt edges let alone undercooked parts, he carried it back out to the front of the café where he found another customer had entered as he carried the plate to hand towards Blanche. "Here you are miss.."

Those eyes. He had seen eyes like that in. It was not uncommon to see the Faunus slaves with eyes like that. Was it hatred? Anger? Or just tired of of them, of people like his father, of people like himself? Maybe she had recognized him. Maybe he was just an ignorant stranger who had invaded her personal space for a moment.. She apologized, left him, and went to sit down with her order. While Nurdara's attention was being drawn to the old man at the counter.

"Hmm, for now, just a coffee please. Milk, two sugars, and preferably quite hot." Nudara smiled.

Sure he lacked the family fortune. However, Nudara had made enough money from working as a Hunter to take care of himself. And he had raided enough of the Golden Skies trains to make a small profit. He reached inside his coat and pulled out a plastic card. One side with a black magnetic strip, the other a golden dragon on a black background. At the dragons center was the Ⱡ symbol for Lien.

Nudara placed the card on the counter. "Charge it to that card."

Even after all of these years, his father had not cancelled that card. Even after sending Nudara away to school, banishing hi.

"Thank you," he added.

Old Man was too sweet for his own good.

Ever since Blanche was a child, she only remembered this man's concern for others, his kindness, and his selfless attitude. He received help by her grandfather a long time ago, and ever since Xanthias got a drop of freshly brewed coffee from Old Man's cafe, he'd been a reoccurring customer ever since.

Blanche put a hand on her heart, feeling the twinge of guilt despite not doing anything when the elder told her to take better care of herself. Another effect the Old Man had on her. He forced her on her best behavior without even saying a word. It was a superpower, honestly.

"Ugh, Old Man..." She murmured to herself. Blanche would have hugged him if he weren't busy helping the Shreik bastard.

The wait for the egg dish wouldn't take as long as Blanche originally thought it would. She reached into her pocket and took out her wallet, getting some Lein out to ready it for an exchange.

"Wow~ That looks great!" She complimented the other cheerily before taking the plate. Blanche then handed him what looked like a little bit of money. "This is for grandpa's order. Put it in the register, okay Axel?"

The "little bit" of money was actually about 100 Lien, all the money she carried on her person. It was her donation to try and replace the funds Old Man had lost because of the brutes. She also wanted to stay a bit, when non-blood grandpa was less busy so she could ask him a few questions.

Once handing Blanche the large omelet plate, Axel had kept silent and only gave his usual best customer service smile while taking a glimpse down at the payment she had given him for the plate. The amount she had paid him was much more than what the actual plate was worth so that fact that she had given it to him and told him to put it into the register was quite the shocker. "Wait miss...this is more than what it's worth." As he spoke, he attempted to return the extra amount of Lien she had handed him while only hold in his other hand the amount that was actually due for the omelet. There was no doubt in his head that if Axel had taken all of the Lien the woman had given him, the old man was probably going to hit him on the head again with the cane stating that he should've returned what wasn't due, so to avoid that he immediately attempted to return it before it came to that.

All the while, back behind the counter the old man greeted the dark haired male customer as he had taken the man's order. Nodding after taking the man's order, the elderly man once more turned his back to the counter to make sure that the cup of coffee he was going to make was a fresh batch so that it had the best taste possible of fresh coffee beans. Luckily since the water had already been on high and already boiled from earlier, it hadn't taken as long to pour the coffee into a cup before dropping two small sugar cubes along with a bit of milk from what the man had ordered. "I haven't seen you around these parts before sir...Are you new here in Vacuo...? I don't normally get new customers around here...It's normally just the usual people." Asking the question that was on the old man's mind ever since this new customer stepped in before he had turned to place the cup onto the counter for the man to take. He slowly reached forward to take the card and for a few moments attempted to figure out how the card swiper worked before eventually figuring it out and charging the card the exact amount the coffee was worth.
Working in Vacuo and at the café even while his own father was still around, the café and Vacuo was all the old man ever really knew so the sight of symbol on the man's coat meant literally nothing to the old man whatsoever not that he even knew what it meant to begin with.

When Axel attempted to hand back what wasn't needed, with her free hand, Blanche gently pushed the money back towards him. Someone who didn't just take her money and not ask questions was a bit difficult to come by in a place like Vacuo. Ahh, Old Man knew how to pick his employees. It's a shame most of them assumed the business was going to fail and quit within a month or so.

"I know that. It's my donation to the shop to help replenish what those assholes stole from Old Man... Look, if he asks or tries to cane you, just tell him you declined and I forced it. I'll take the bop and his lecture for it since this isn't the first time I've done this." Blanche assured him before adding, "If you don't want to get in trouble, that's fine. I understand. Just let me get behind the counter because this Lien will get in that register one way or another."

Someone has yet to stop her from getting her overpayment into Old Man's register, and dammit this money was going to her second grandpa no matter how she had to do it.

Nudara took the coffee but left the card on the counter, pretending not to notice it there. He had seen the men walk out. With a quick glance over to his side and he saw the white haired Faunus woman offering far too much money. The conclusion was obvious. It would be better off to let the old man keep the Lien on the card. Maybe Nudara could work towards getting him his money back from those thugs, too.

"Well, I am from Vacuo. Just not a part of Vacuo you have seen," Nudara replied. "Been away for quite a few years anyway." He gave a second to think, before continuing. "I am actually in town visiting family." He tried his best to smile and seem polite. "And I think I saw some friends of the family, three of them in fact, just leaving here. You don't happen to know where I could find those three now, do you? They already left before I could catch them." Catch them red handed, more like.

Finding them and taking back the money they stole would be easy enough. And then Nudara would make sure that they do not steal from anyone ever again. Hopefully this old man would at least know where Nudara could find his extortioners. Would not surprise Nudara in the least if they were actually friends of the family. Hiring thugs to harass local business was right out of his father's play book.

A woman with long dark hair and keen red eyes entered the cafe and made her way right up to the bar counter to drop herself onto an empty stool. "Morning, Boss. Give me my usual." She hardly missed a beat before cutting off any suggestions with "for the morning." Her tone was friendly enough that the same conversation had to have played out before. She did take a few moments to look the younger man behind the bar over with a carefully considering eye. He was new. Had to be a story there, then.

The other patrons, she paid less mind to. This early in the morning, Chro wasn't as sociable as she otherwise would be. The sword at her hip wouldn't say much in Zramore; most people were armed these days. Some might recognize her, if they still bothered to keep up with hunters these days. The magazines and other features idolizing them were gone, but she was old enough someone could even recognize her from those.

While she waited for her coffee, Chro turned her attention back to the pink-haired man behind the counter. "You must be a new guy," she said, going straight to the point. "At least, I'm pretty sure I haven't seen you around before."

No matter how much Axel had attempted to return the money to the white haired faunus, it appeared that she would not take no for an answer and insisted that the money be placed into the register to make up even if it was only a little for the trio from earlier stealing the whole week's worth of lien. Taking into his grasp, he only brought his emerald gaze down at the money he had in his hand before scratching the back of his head about how he was going to be able to put this in the register without the old man immediately going off on a rant. "Thank you, Miss Blanche...the old man truly does not know how to take the help from others...does he?" As he questioned the woman even without fully taking any look at her directly, Axel soon progressed his way back behind the counter just to open up the register while placing the lien underneath the slots where the lien fitted into properly so that the old man wouldn't start a rant from seeing how full the register quickly got from just one customer giving actual lien rather than a swiping card.

Meanwhile, as Axel had slipped behind the old man to place the money into the register; the old man had been focusing onto the other customer who seemed to state that he had also lived in Vacuo and just it was that he was around a different part of the city, it wasn't too hard to believe since with the old man in his current age it wasn't like he had the energy to be able to move around as much as when he was still young and ever since then, things had changed in the city from the attack on the old city which made it mere ruins now and to this new city being built and still growing larger by the day. Giving a low chuckle while he reached a hand over his mouth so that he could cough into it lightly, it wasn't till the very man questioned on where the three gang members from earlier had went off to that he stopped his chuckle and directed his gaze down to the counter in silence for a few moments. "Please. I may be old...but I am no fool...Those people are highly dangerous. Do not concern yourself under my account. I am not exactly sure where they are headed...All i know is that they tend to head by small shops like my own once every week to collect money for protection from having it shut down by force from them..." Once again the elderly man coughed a few times into his hand before exhaling a deep sigh just to steady his old breathing. "Sir, I have lived my life like this for many years...I will be alright."

Right as Axel had placed the money into the register from behind the old man, it wasn't too difficult to overhear the slightest bit of the conversation that the old man was having with the male customer about the trio that was in the café earlier. So the old man was dealing with these people for years now and no one had yet to do anything about it. Gritting his fangs underneath his breath to avoid just rushing out of the room and running blindly after the trio even if he didn't know where they were; the instant the bells to the front entrance opening and closing had caused him to snap out his building rage. It was yet another female customer, this one in particular decide to make he way towards the bar counter just to take her seat.

Finishing up by closing up the register, Axel made his way right over towards the bar counter just to take the woman's order while she greeted the old man who waved at her with his usual friendly smile before nodding to her order. "Ah..! Yes Miss Chro. Axel...the woman's usual is on the note underneath the counter." Taking the old man's words into mind, the pink haired male only squatted down just to grab the small sticky note and reading the exact way to make the woman's coffee order properly. Nodding his head, Axel went straight to work on preparing the cup. All the while, once the very woman spoke up he would only bring his emerald gaze to meet her crimson ones as he gave her the usual friendly customer service smile. "Ah...um, yes. I am new around here, Miss Chro..was it? My name is Axel Yoshmitsu...I am...not exactly from around here. Mainly just visiting and looking to make some extra lien." Of course, he was lying through his teeth with every word he spoke aside from his name and the fact he wasn't from around Vacuo. He was only here to stay and get some rest before moving on to the ruins of the old city and do some investigation. Eventually, it wouldn't take much longer before he finally placed the cup of coffee upon the counter for the woman to take.

"Hehe, no he doesn't..." Blanche smiled appreciatively at Axel before another customer came in. She took the plate, some silverware, and her grandfather's order before going to the closest table and setting everything down.

She took her seat then reached into one of her pockets to take out a notebook. Blanche opened it up so she could get to work. One hand worked on writing, the other using a fork to eat.

God the food was delicious.

Back on track.

She had heard bandits were traveling up and down along the trail between Vale and Vacuo, aiming to get whatever they can get their grubby hands on. If she went off the main path, then maybe she'd be able to travel fine until she got to the fork to Wakikata... Or, she could go to the outskirts first and wait until the bandits decide to move somewhere else...

The Faunus marked the potential paths down on her map.

There was still the chance of getting robbed no matter what she did... She sighed and continued searching for a better potential path that she could take. Her merchandise was far too valuable to lose it because of a careless mistake...

"Of course," Nudara said, simply. "Worth a try." He smiled.

Seemed the old man would not budge on the matter. Nevertheless, Nudara left his card on the counter. Leaving it behind as he took his coffee and carried it towards a far corner and to a little seat and table. He smiled at the Faunus girl as he passed her by.

Just as a woman entered. Her walk, the way she held herself, and the sword hanging at his hip told him a lot. She was also a hunter.

"So many hunters in one place," he said quietly, to himself. "People will think we're running a convention."

Chro picked up her mug of coffee and swirled it around a bit, studying its surface. "You sure you don't want to stick around," she asked Axel after a few sips. "You've got promise as a barista if you keep it up. And yeah, you got my name right." She still wanted to open a cafe herself, one of these days ,but for now, that would have to stay a hobby. She had things to actually do before she could retire.

She looked over at the young man making comments about hunters. "It's not that unusual out here. Get far enough from Atlas' sphere of influence and it's a necessary, if no longer respected, profession." She sighed. It probably was time for hunters to move out of the limelight. Still, she didn't have to like the way things had changed over the years. Without the academies, their entire organization had fallen completely apart, and that wasn't going to benefit anyone going forward. "Not sure we don't deserve at least some of what we get, though. I don' need to be a celebrity on top of it all."
She looked around the room again. "Though, since I'm not alone here, anyone looking for work?"

After handing the woman known as Chro her drink, even when once the woman had began to inspect her drink he would simply stand there with his smile in case he had done anything wrong with the drink and needed to prepare it once more. As it appeared after her own inspection of the coffee that the drink was prepared correctly, Axel had let out a light mental sigh of relief before being questioned about his choice of staying around since he had an opportunity to be a bartender Chuckling with a nod of his head, the pink haired male had made sure to wipe down the counter while the woman sipped her coffee and spoke with the other male patron about something along the lines of how there were a lot of huntsmen around. Although he was raised by the headmaster of Haven academy before it's fall, Axel never had the chance to learn too much about the other huntsmen much let alone the full history about where and how huntsmen began so the fact that the woman who sat before him was actually a huntsmen that was known among many others was not something he knew too well himself.

Eventually directing his gaze around the surroundings of the café, his emerald hues finally landed onto the old man who appeared to had been opening up the register just to look into the no doubt emptiness of the slots even though he knew well enough what he was about to find when he opened it up. Even though the male customer had left his lien card there to be taken, the old man still had refused to take it and simply left it there in case the customer decided to come around and take it before he left. With the fact the old man was being robbed like this and how it seemed like it was going to keep going like this each week unless something was done, Axel couldn't help but grit his teeth while his own tail stiffened up in rage. "Hey...Old man, I'm...um, going on my break for a bit. Don't worry I'll be back before the rush gets here. I promise." After letting the elderly man know, the only response he had gotten in return was a nod of the old man's head while Axel took his leave outside the café.

Taking a glimpse down at the ground after leaving through the front door, it wasn't difficult to see the fact that the tires from the bikes that the trio had taken had left quite the trail in one direction. No doubt the trail was going to probably blow over sooner or later and make it near impossible to find them, Axel wasted no time to immediately go rushing forward towards the direction that he had seen the trail went off towards. One way or another, he was going to take back what that gang did to the old man even if it meant blood had to be spilled. It wasn't like Axel was going to live in Zramore forever anyway, so when he had decided to return later and there was blood on him; the old man was probably not going to be taking him back so while taking back the lien, he had hoped the gang also knew at least something about the ruins of the old Vacuo in the process.

Meanwhile, back in the café the old man only sighed once more after closing the register and making his way back over towards the counter to overlook the three customers he had at the moment. Just as he had told the other male customer, although he was old he was no idiot; even though Axel had stated he was going for a 'break' he probably was going after those people that stole from the shop just moments ago. "Miss Chro...Miss Blanche...I am terribly sorry for this. I do not mean to be a bother, but could you please go after that boy...? He is bound to be doing something far too foolish for his own good." The only reason the old man had not requested of the other male customer for assistance as well was since he had not known if the other man was also a hunter or not as well as the fact that he did not know the other man as well as he had known Chro and Blanche by now. "I will repay you both for your services with free meals and drinks...just please make sure the boy is safe.."

Blanche hadn't noticed just how quickly she had finished her food until her fork tapped on an empty plate. Huh... If she hadn't donated everything on her person to Old Man, she might have ordered another one. Whatever, he could keep it all. Old Man didn't deserve to have his business run down because a couple of thugs decided to pick on him...

Speaking of thugs, she needed to ask him a couple of questions regarding them.

She'd have to wait until he was free until he was free...

The Shreik boy passed by her, offering a smile. To be kind, she returned the smile. Old Man had more things to worry about than Blanche starting something in his shop...

The pink haired boy from earlier was leaving the cafe in a hurry, making Blanche look up and watch him go. Blanche was about to ask why he was up in such a hurry, but Old Man had already given her the task of being Axel's babysitter with a veteran hunter.

The veteran hunter she had seen in one of the magazines grandpa had~

'Aaaahhhhh! Fighting alongside a veteran~!' Blanche squealed internally.

"Aww, Old Man you know I'll work for you for free. Sit down and take a break~ Just leave grandpa's order in the warmer." She went over and gave Old Man a brief and gentle hug before letting him go.

Blanche then turned to Chro. "Shall we, Miss?"
