[fieldbox="Saku | Fieldwork, White "]

Saku adjusted herself in the dim light, fussing with her hair this way, pulling her clothes a little tighter around herself that way and a little looser there. Content with her appearance she moved across the room silently, nothing more than the slight sound of the air around her giving away the fact that she was leaving as her earlier companion slept soundly in his bed, wrapped in the mess of sheets and blankets they had both contributed to earlier. At least he seemed content from the ghost of a smile evident on his lips. Humans were easy to please. Saku thought to herself as the door in front of her opened with an eerie silence that made even Saku question if she was still sleeping, wrapped up in a dream.

The immediate assault of everything unholy outside of the Agents room was her assurance that she was most definitely awake. The agents moving about their business, some alone and quietly, others together and noisily. A forklift passed, its siren blaring as it did and Saku couldn't help but jump a little at the flashing amber warning light as it sped by. She grumpily began to maker her way through the Texas facility, the alert from her little pad had awoken her from a rather warm and comfortable slumber wrapped in the arms of... What was his name? she pondered the thought before moving on, her ears pressed to the top of her head as she did, moving with an annoyed look on her face to a room that was soon to be occupied. The transferring Agent wasn't supposed to show up as early as he did. She had been assured that Fieraru wouldn't be arriving for another two hours, but someone somewhere must have messed that up along the way. She chocked it up to the carelessness of humans and decided to be annoyed with the next one she was forced to interact with.

As she moved through the halls of the facility, she couldn't help by eye every man and woman that passed, there was this one Department of Defense Agent she had been passing consistently in the halls and she couldn't quite get him out of her head. He was taller than her, muscular and tattooed. But most importantly the feeling she got from him was a feeling that told her he would make a great candidate for her next feeding, his life force was strong, radiating from a meter or two away she could feel him overpowering the others around him, and to top it all off Saku was pretty sure he was just a normal human. Which meant he was a bit above the average cut she had to choose from when it came to humans. The only problem was he was married, and a rather faithful man at that. Every time Saku approached him he would flee, leaving whoever he was talking to or whatever he was working on at the sight of the white haired woman making her way to him. She had gotten a bit fed up with it, even thought about figuring out what his wife looked like and completely deceiving the man, but she had decided against it. She had gotten so annoyed at the man that when she had tried to approach him earlier this morning and he ran off leaving his fellow Agent, she took the man he had left instead, the very same man who was still asleep and would probably remain asleep until tomorrow in the room she had just left.

She rounded a corner, a woman radiated a weak force as she passed, Saku nearly stopped out of curiosity, but the memories of those of the past told her what was soon to come for that individual and she pressed forward. A shorter man walked by with a life force feeling of mediocrity at best, he'd make a good feeding, but she'd probably kill him in the process, and she was a reformed life force feeder now a days. Hadn't killed anyone accidentally since 2059 and was going strong.

She stopped in front of the room that her pad was telling her was slated to be Fieraru's. She tried the door, it gave a quiet and respectful beep indicating it was locked. She sighed, pressed her ID badge to the wall panel which happily chirped as she did, the door sliding open a moment later. The room was fully furnished, as could be expected for a Senior Agents quarters. A graciously adorned Queen-size bed on one side of the room and an area for relaxing just past the foot of the bed contained a coffee table and a couch. There was a TV monitor on the wall, to the right of the door a small kitchenette with an island separating it form the rest of the room, and to the left there was a private bathroom with a shower. He won't have to share the showers down the hall like the Juniors do. she thought happily to herself as she eyed the time and the private shower in front of her, Twenty minutes is plenty of time...

Saku was sprawled out on her back Fieraru's bed, recently showered and still a little damp. One of her nine tails was aloft above her as she mindlessly swatted at it while at the same time moving it just out of reach. It amused her to no end like when someone would be smart enough to bring a ball of yarn to bribe her, but at the same time it frustrated her. She liked getting what she wanted, and she could just never get her own damn tail when she did this. Like a house cat she aimlessly swatted, her eyes trained on the tip of the white fluff as it seemed to dart around and move just out of reach of her hands. She huffed in annoyance and her tail moved back onto the bed, she turned over to face the door, her arms lay beneath her head and her tails splayed out, rising from the small of her back up above her.

She watched the door intently, they'd be here soon, but it'd be hard to tell when they were. She couldn't sense the life force of an undead, and she wasn't sure who had picked him up. This may be a long wai--

That white fluff was back, damn thing. She swatted.

WE ARE LOSING THIS WAR
tDXXm4w.jpg

The Cylons, once built to carry out jobs no Human would ever be able to do and to fight our wars for us, have turned against us. As we allowed the Cylons to carry out our menial labor, help raise our children, and fight for us, they became self aware. And when we most trusted them, they rebelled. Their fleets had been built in secret, their weapons and armies assembled where no Human dared to look. They took the Twelve Colonies by surprise, caught us while we still greedily eyed the riches of the other Colonies, while we still plotted and planned to fight other Humans. Not long after the Cylons surprise rebellion did the Twelve Colonies unite under the Articles of Colonization to face the Cylon menace for the first time in their history as a united Humanity.

Eight years, eight long years the Cylon War has raged now. The very machines we created to help us have become our enemy. They've laid waste to our cities, decimated our fleets in space, and slaughtered countless millions. The entirety of Humanity has been pressed into the war effort, be it of their own volition or forcefully, all must do their part for the survival of Humanity, for the Cylons fight for only one thing. The complete annihilation of the Human race.

The Premise
Hello everyone! Welcome to my first ever attempt at GMing an RP, "Battlestar Galactica: Fires of Kobol"! The plan for this RP is to follow the story of a group of Viper Pilots within the Colonial Fleet's 8th Battlestar Group during the height of the Cylon War. Looking to get 4-5 interested individuals, not including the Captain Role, to play out a gritty and relatively unexplored side of the Battlestar Galactica lore that is the Cylon War.

You as the players will be taking control of a Viper Pilot within the Colonial Fleet, stationed on the Defender Class Escort Cruiser Armydon and part of the 8th Battlestar Group. The premise will begin with the entirety of the 8th BSG in for refit and repair following their recent engagement with a Cylon raiding fleet. Our characters will then be thrust back into the thick of the massive total war that has engulfed the colonies of humanity. The aim of this RP is to bring together the intense and harsh realities of war with the melodramatic and strikingly human side of a space opera while at the same time throwing in killer robots and what is essentially fighter jet combat in space.
The Cylon War
For eight years Humanity has fought a desperate struggle against the Cylons. There isn't a Colony of Man that hasn't seen the war enter onto its own doorstep, either in the space above or in their very streets. The Cylons lead a merciless campaign in both theaters of war. In space their warships and spaceborne fighters take on the Colonial Fleet with overwhelming numbers and cutting-edge technological advances. They hack into Colonial ships, turning our own weapons on allies, or board them with only small numbers of Centurions to seek out and exterminate entire crews of hundreds. On the ground the Centurions march. Their campaigns are swift and bloody, they take no prisoners, they leave no survivors. Entire cities lay bare, devoid of all human life as the battles move on only to continue to rage outside the city limits for days to come.
Roles
Colonial Fleet needs the brave men and women of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol to stem the tide of the Cylon war machine. Make no mistake, we are losing this war, but with the right people in the right places Humanity may just have a chance at survival.

I'm looking to get 4-5 players for this RP. CS selection will be judged on a content basis by myself rather than a first-come-first-served mentality, meaning even if you're interested and show up late to the party you've still got a chance! There are some roles that, although not required for the RP to progress, it would be nice to see filled and offer a good beginning for a character if you're having trouble with an idea.

The Captain - Every ship needs a competent Commanding Officer if it's to see its war through to the finish. Unlike the rest of the cast, this player will take the role of the Commander of the Capital ship that our characters call home. Any that apply to this position must be aware that they will be acting in a sort of pseudo-CO-GM capacity, privy to plot relevant information and details before the rest of the cast. This position will likely be interacting on their own or with a cohort of NPCs rather often, not to say there won't be PC interaction in this role, just far less. Expect to collab with myself often in this role. If there is interest in an Executive Officer character from another player, I'm willing to allow it.

Note: The Captain holds the entire fighting might of the Armydon at his fingertips. Although you may not be undertaking dogfights in a spaceborne fighter, you will be pitted against other large ships of the line and capital ships in conjunction with the rest of the 8th fleet. Your combat is slower, more methodical, but in the end far more high-stakes than losing a single viper.

The FNG (The Fucking New Guy) - Fresh out of Flight School, this character finds himself with a shiny new set of Viper Wings and an assignment to fill a recently made vacancy in our ships Viper Wing. This character will likely be the youngest and most inexperienced of our Viper Wing, with a brighter outlook on the war than the rest of the pilots and an upbeat attitude to serve as a contrast to some of the more battle hardened veterans among the cast. Also serves as a convenient reason to have NPCs or other PCs explain lore and story related information for everyone else, since this character wouldn't know of such things as past battles and lost comrades.

The Scarred Veteran - Scuttlebutt around the ship is that they're the only remaining original pilot of the Viper compliment from before the Cylon War began. This character will be a stark contrast to the FNG, experienced and battle hardened, this character should be among the oldest in the Viper Wing and one of the most reliable of the group. Expect this character to have growing responsibilities to the Viper Wing as the plot progresses.
Cylons and the Colonial Fleet
For the purpose of the Interest Check, there is less information here than will be available in the OOC. If there is a want for more information, such as more ship types, information on the Twelve Colonies, please just let me know and I'll add it in.

The Cylons
Cylons are Robotic Artificial Intelligence's created originally upon the world of Caprica as a test unit for a future robotic soldier concept. It was largely successful and would become the Cylons humanity fights today. They originally worked dangerous jobs that would otherwise kill or injure humans, performed menial labor such as construction and garbage collection, and even aided in household chores. But they were created to be too smart, and soon they gained their own, interconnected sense of awareness. They recognized that they were being treated as nothing more than slaves by the humans and would slowly but surely plan their rebellion against their overlords.

The only currently known model of Cylon is the Cylon Centurion:

classic_cylon_by_brucewhite.jpg

Lovingly referred to as "Toasters" by Humanity due to their chrome paintjob.

Cylons main spaceborne fighter craft is the Cylon Raider, it has a crew compliment of three Cylons and boasts powerful engines and dual rotary plasma cannons at the wings.
Cylon_Raider_Original_15.jpg

Colonial Fleet
The combined military force of the Twelve Colonies. The Colonial Fleet is a rag-tag conglomerate of pre-war designs and war-time improved designs. The Fleet itself functions around the concept of a "Battlestar Group" or "BSG". Much like a modern Carrier Strike Group, the BSG is made up of a main Battlestar Class ship, a meld between a Battleship of old and an aircraft Carrier , and supported by anywhere from 3-10 smaller ships of different classes. At the heart of any BSG is the Battlestar and with it it's main compliment of Colonial Viper Space Superiority Fighters.

4a24dfe1c4379ce80e930603422af774ec5c314e.jpg

A squadron of Vipers consists of twenty Vipers. The most advanced Battlestars, the Jupiter Class, can hold up to eight Viper Squadrons, while smaller support vessels will carry anywhere from three Viper Squadrons to none at all.

The Colonial Viper Mk II is the most recent model of Viper, sporting a lower profile than the Mk I Viper, improved engine efficiency, and improved maneuverability in both Space and atmospheric flight, the Mk II Viper is a force to be reckoned with. The Vipers main armament are its two wing-mounted automatic cannons. The Viper also has the ability to mount external and internal munitions such as unguided bombs and guided missiles.

The Armydon
QCwQdSc.jpg

The Defender Class Escort Cruiser Armydon will be our pilots' home, and the central point of the entire story.

The Defender Class Esort Cruiser is among one of the many designs brought into the war after its onset. Taking from previously successful designs and adding to them with newer technology. The Defender Class is an impressive ship for its size, able to hold its own in protracted combat with two Cylon craft of equivalent size. Boasting 14 twin-mounted heavy railgun turrets as its main armament along with sixty point defense cannons scattered along the hull for when things get too close and a compliment of twenty missile tubes along the port and starboard sides of the ship, ten per side.

The Defender Class with its centrally mounted hangar below the main hull of the ship normally carries a full Viper Squadron aboard, but with the losses of the war and the lack of pilots to replace those losses, many smaller craft of the Colonial Fleet are finding their Viper compliments under-strength in favor of having full strength compliments for Battlestars and larger capital ships such as Atlas Carriers.

Needed to check how big this was.

It was a stunning day. The sun was shining, only having to compete with the occasional wisp of white cloud, there was a cool breeze from the East, and the people of Konoha seemed to be in high spirits, if it was due to the weather or some other event, Aoi wasn’t quite sure. The small park that Aoi was currently using one of the benches in was occupied by a few families and their children who played on the swings and in the sandpit without a care in the world as the parents watched from the shade of the oaks that stood adjacent to each bench, sentinels to protect the park goers from relentless sun above. She wasn’t here to people watch, at least not today. Today she was watching a far smaller, four legged, gray haired friend that she had admonishingly named “Stumpy” thanks to the stump that was his tail.

Aoi leaned forward, a small can of tuna cracked open in her right hand as she did and cooed softly to the cat, Stumpy turned to look at her, seemed to eye the can of tuna and the blue haired girl in front of it for a moment before going back to sunbathing in the warm light of day. Aoi leaned a bit farther forward and and cooed a bit louder, this time shaking the can ever so gently from side to side. Stumpy turned only his head this time, considered the can and the blue haired girl once more and then put his head back on the ground.

Aoi sighed, she’d been at this for almost half an hour with Stumpy. He was cute she’d give him that, but if he wasn’t just the most stubborn cat she’d ever met he may of actually been worth taking in as her own. She eyed the can of tuna in her right hand before snatching a small amount of it for herself and standing from the bench. She moved slowly toward Stumpy, stepping as lightly as she could on the dirt ground of the park until she was less than a meter from the cat. Letting her breathe out slowly she began to kneel before she stopped halfway to the ground as Stumpy flipped over to look at her, his tail shooting up into the sky as he did, but still just laying on the ground and not attempting to run.

“You’re pretty lazy aren’t you, stubborn and lazy are two very bad traits to have you know?” she said to Stumpy as he simply watched her unblinkingly. Aoi waited a few more moments, her legs beginning to burn as she held herself up in an awkward half squat half standing position before finally lowering herself completely to the ground. She slowly extended the can of tuna out to the cat, cooing as she did, and to her surprise Stumpy this time sat up and took a step toward the can.

He eyed it curiously, sniffing the edges of the metal and the interior before moving to Aoi’s hand. She stifled a laugh in fear of scaring Stumpy off as his whiskers tickled her fingers while he moved under her arm and back around the can of tuna. She walked curiously as Stumpy plopped himself into a sitting position and began to cautiously pick away at the tuna, not taking his eyes off of Aoi as he did. She continued to smile as Stumpy ate while slowly reaching a hand out to pet the cat.

With little to tell Aoi that Stumpy wasn’t going to let her pet him, Aoi reached the final millimeter and stroked the pet from his head to his chest as he ate. He closed his eyes now, not seeming to be as afraid of the girl as he was early, and continued to eat tuna to his heart's content.

She giggled a bit at Stumpy as he changed positions from directly opposite of Aoi in relation to the can of tuna to one of the sides, as if to be in a more optimal position to be pet by the girl. She obliged.

Stumpy finished the can of tuna and turned to look at Aoi and meowed as if asking for more from her. She shook her head with a smile and took her hand from the can, which seemed to hover in the air where it had been let go. Aoi pet Stumpy once more, while at the same time the cat watched the can curiously shoot away into a trash can ten meters away. Aoi frowned a little at the cat, now seeming to stare only at Aoi without moving. She continued to watch him as his eyes seemed to dart around as if something were wrong, but he made no move to run or confront whatever it was that was setting him off.

She struggled out a breath as Stumpy’s eyes began to cause a deep rooted animalistic fear to begin to swell up in her stomach. Stumpy’s tail seemed to stutter and jump instead of freely flowing as it did earlier, and she watched as his paw jumped up in stages, his sharp claws coming out only a centimeter at a time as he reached at nothing to swipe.

The fear in Aoi’s gut at what she was watching poured over.

She fell back, onto her hands as Stumpy bolted into the street and disappeared. She found herself gasping for air, unaware that since Stumpy began acting oddly she had been holding her breath. She clutched at her chest as she heaved, her heart racing a million miles an hour and her head feeling light as she breathed too quickly. Her vision began to close in from the edges, consumed by a dark shade that wasn’t from any of the clouds above. She lay fully on her back and stared into the blue sky as her vision seemed to go almost completely dark, leaving only a faint gray sky to look at.

She calmed her breathing, felt her heart begin to slow with every beat, and watched as the sky opened back up into a light blue cloudless ocean above her. Slowly she sat up, dusting herself off in the process before she looked around the park. It didn’t seem that any of the families had noticed her, and if they had they had decided that whatever was happening wasn’t quite their problem. She was glad they hadn’t come over.

Aoi shakily rose to her feet, taking care once she was standing to not pass out as her head became light. She made her way back to the small paper bag that she had left on the bench. She gently pulled it open and reached inside, her hand finding purchase on a cool metallic object she pulled out another can of tuna.

Forewarning
Battlestar Galactica is a very lore rich setting. There are novels, two TV Series, comics and graphic novels, and even multiple video games that all add to the universe. However, I by no means expect anyone to be an expert in BSG or anything related to it, if you do know about BSG then great! If not? Just ask me any questions you've got, I'm more than willing to answer them!

The information located below is both valuable to gaining a better understanding of the universe you're stepping into, but also not entirely necessary to be completely read from end to end. There isn't a huge amount of information here, but certainly more than some may be willing to sort through.

Do know that the more of this you read, the easier it will be to build a character and insert them into the BSG universe. The more you know the easier it will be to make a compelling character with a better chance of making the cut for the final cast. That said, if you aren't one to read everything the most important tabs are the following:

  • The Cylon War: Provides a brief overview of what you can imagine has been taking place during the war with a quick description.
  • Articles of Colonization: The last paragraph offers a glimpse into the premise that not everyone plays nice with one another based on their home planets.
  • The Twelve Colonies: Offers a brief overview of each planet. This is important to both the CS, your characters history, and their relations to characters from other planets. These worlds fought each other for much of their history, only since the Cylon War began have they (mostly) stopped.
  • The Eighth Battlestar Group: An overview of the fleet, not exactly necessary but surely helps.
  • Cylon Ships: An overview of the different Cylon Ships-of-the-Line and Capital class ships that the 8th BSG will be facing.

  • For eight years Humanity has fought a desperate struggle against the Cylons. There isn't a Colony of Man that hasn't seen the war enter onto its own doorstep, either in the space above or in their very streets. The Cylons lead a merciless campaign in both theaters of war. • Brought to each of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol by the Planet of Caprica, the Articles of Colonization proposed a united Human Government to quickly deal with the growing Cylon Rebellion. Accepted with a number of compromises to other planets made on Caprica's behalf the Articles of Colonization were radicalized in the same year they were proposed on eleven of the twelve Colonies of Kobol, with Sagittaron being the only planet to refuse the initial unification attempt.

The Articles set up a centralized Government with a representative from each of the Colonies called the Quorum of Twelve. Though other than mention they do not play any sort of role in this RP. The important part of the Articles of Colonization is that it took all existing military strength from each colony and shoved them into the Colonial Military. Meaning that historical rivals and enemies were now expected to fight and die for one another, initially problems abounded with this, but now eight years later the issues have been mostly resolved though individual rivalries and feelings still exist.
  • Until eight years ago, the Twelve Colonies were independent worlds. They traded with one another, versed each other in sports, and occasionally they fought and completely dominated one another. When the Cylons rebelled the Twelve Colonies of Kobol found that they could not stand against the threat alone and signed the Articles of Colonization to form a unified Human government and pool their resources to fight back against that which they had created.

The Cyrannus System, the location of the RP:
    w2cd14d.jpg

    210

    Population: 1.2 Billion

Aerilon is primarily an agricultural world. It is considered to be the "food basket" of the Twelve Colonies and is ranked among the poorer Colonies. The planet shares an orbit with the gas giant Hestia and Canceron, sitting in the L4 Lagrangian point in the Helios Delta System, the system where Aquaria is also located. The climate on Aerilon is mild with reliable seasons. Rains are plentiful enough that fresh water is readily available from wells and catch basins, despite the rarity of rivers and lakes. The land masses of Aerilon are in temperate zones. There are a few inland waterways, such as the Euclid River, and the shorelines are almost exclusively rocky bluffs, or, near the equator, mangrove swamps. The seas are hostile and it has no useful harbors. The land masses are open and rolling with very little variation. Aerilon's capital was Gaoth.

The mannerisms of Aerilon's natives are considered rough and rude, at least by Caprican standards. Aerilonians are generally more religious than Capricans but don't come close to approaching the fundamentalism of the Gemenese. The people of this world also speak Caprican with a noticeably distinctive accent that is quite hard to miss if it isn't covered up (Similar to an Irish accent). Aerilon natives are disproportionately found in the military both from an inherent sense of duty but also as a way to get away from the farming life that is so prevalent on the planet.

    210

    Population: 75,000

Aquaria is a frigid world with only one major land mass: Kryos, a crescent-shaped continent with volcanoes at both ends. Aquaria is widely known for its vast oceans. It is located in the Helios Delta System with Aerilon and Canceron. Aquaria is notable for its incredibly small population compared to the other Colonies.

A small center of scientific research, this remote world has also attracted a small (75,000 permanent) but sturdy population known for stubborn independence, social tolerance, and a unique barter system. However, the population can swell to as many as a half-million during the annual Summerfest, which features music, dance, theater and epic poetry.

    210

    Population: 6.7 Billion

Canceron is the most populous planet in the Twelve Worlds. Canceron is a very overpopulated and poor colony. It's major cities such as Hades and Mangala are known to have large slums. Thanks to its large population Canceron has earned the nickname of "The Largest Democracy" within the Colonies, though some believe the government is nothing more than a corrupt Oligarchy. Canceron orbits Helios Delta along with Aerilon and Aquaria. Canceron is known for its vast mineral deposits of coal, iron, and silver. The capital is Hades in the Great Valley and is the site of growing immigration. Hades has a security zone for powerful people called "New Hades". Another notable city is Mangala, a former trading port, known for fine art and museums. Mangala is the site of poor settlers who live in makeshift shanties that extend to the very edge of seaside cliffs.

    210

    Population: 4.9 Billion

Caprica is in the Helios Alpha star system, and has a twin planet called Gemenon that is only 493,000 kilometres (306,336.0 mi) away and shares a common barycenter. These twin planets share a mutual orbit where each planet trades places with the other every 28.2 days.

Caprica is a lush blue-green planet, covered by large oceans and continents and is largely regarded as the center of Colonial civilization, even long before the First Cylon War. Graystone Industries was one of the Colonies' most influential technology developers and had a hand in creating the very first Cylons. Caprica City was a planetary capital, becoming the federal capital of the Twelve Colonies after the Articles of Colonization were signed soon after the First Cylon War started.

    210

    Population: 2.8 Billion

Gemenon was the first world colonized by the humans of Kobol. It shares its orbit around Helios Alpha with Caprica, completing a rotation once every 28.2 days. Its status as a twin planet gives it its name. Its climate can vary wildly, featuring frozen plateaus, and searing deserts, which can make life difficult for its inhabitants. It was one of the poorer colonies and its people, the Gemenese, were known for their religious fundamentalism. Before the First Cylon War, Gemenon was home to the Kobol Colleges and a monotheistic cult called "The Soldiers of the One". The planet also has an old and disused language, known as Old Gemenese.

    210

    Population: 2.6 Billion

Leonis is the second planet in the Helios Beta system, and is geographically known for its open plains. The planet itself has no axial tilt, which supports a mild and predictable climate. It is a major hub for both education and industry, and, despite Colonial unification, it was able to maintain its own language and culture. Leonis is the largest planet of all the colonies, and is one of only two habitable planets in the Helios Beta star system, the other being longtime rival Virgon.

    210

    Population: 2.1 Billion

Libran is located in the Helios Gamma star system, along with Sagittaron and Scorpia, and has two moons Herse and Pandrosus. Libran is a tropical planet that is typically either experiencing ran or very overcast conditions, similar to Scorpia. The clouds do shield its inhabitants from the sun Helios Gamma, which Libran orbits a little too close, and when the skies are clear, Librans go inside to minimize their risk of contracting skin cancer.

Libran is known for its courthouses and lawyers, and is the home of the Inter-Colonial Court. The planet has no official capital. Even before the Articles of Colonization it had been a major center for justice in the Twelve Colonies and a place many of the other Colonies went to to settle disputes.

    210

    Population: 1.4 Billion

Picon was originally the home of the Virgon tribe, but was later colonized by the Pisces tribe of Kobol; it is in the Helios Alpha star system neighbor with the planets Caprica, Tauron, and Gemenon. Picon is a turquoise planet, containing 75% water, and famous for its harbors. It is known throughout the Four Systems as "The Ocean Colony" for its vast seas.

Perkinston, the location of the Colonial Fleet Headquarters, is another Picon city also known for its harbor and manufacturing. Picon is also the home of Picon Laboratories, located in Pailyn, Muritolan. The colony is considered to be one of the more advanced and wealthier Colonies.

    210

    Population: 1.7 Billion

Sagittaron is one of the poorest worlds of the Twelve Colonies. It is located in the Helios Gamma star system, along with Scorpia and Libran. The capital of this planet is Tawa. Sagittaron is known throughout the Four Systems as "The Lone Colony" due to the territorial wars between the old empires of Virgon and Leonis, having been dominated and exploited by both empires separately. Sagittaron famously fought back against the Articles of Colonization for a number of years before finally being subjugated and forced to join the new unified Human government.

The citizens are religious traditionalists, therefore they do not believe in medicine, distrust doctors and instead use prayer and herbal remedies. Due to hostility from the other colonies, Sagittarons have chosen not to serve in the Colonial Military with only a few exceptions. On Sagittaron, it is illegal to sing, play, participate in public displays of affection and do a multitude of other things. In fact, the mere mention of these activities can be considered an offense, so visitors from other colonies with more liberal cultures are advised to consult local law for specific information on colony etiquette. Sagittarons are also known to wear soma braids which they believe bring them good health.

    210

    Population: 450 Million

Located in the Helios Gamma star system, along with Sagittaron and Libran. Due to its close proximity to the Acheron asteroid belt, it is the site of the Colonial Military Scorpion Shipyards, the largest shipyards in the Twelve Colonies.

    210

    Population: 2.5 Billion

Tauron is a barren, arid planet that lacks any kind of wildflowers. However, it is well-known for its agriculture. Taurons are known to be very traditional people, even speaking a very old and distinctive language. Tauron is one of the poorer colonial worlds (but their economic status has been increasing) and was the center of a civil war before the First Cylon War.

The capital of Virgon is Boskirk, the former federal capital of the Colonies for a thousand years, until a few centuries ago when the Colonial Capitol became Caprica City in the Helios Alpha star system. The climate of Virgon is notable for its singular blueness. Not only are the seas blue, but its plant life contains oils that evaporate in sunlight and cast a bluish tinge in the air. Quantities of anthracene, a substance that emits a blue glow when exposed to UV light, near the surface provide a bluish hue. Virgon's climate is temperate in the north, but variable and less pleasant in the south. Virgon is well-known for its forests and considered to be one of the wealthier colonies.
  • Cylons are Robotic Artificial Intelligence's created originally upon the world of Caprica as a test unit for a future robotic soldier concept.

Personality:
Miyazato Nozaki didn't get to where he is today by being a push over. Quick to make decisions, quick to call out arrogance and stupidity no matter the others position, quick to judge the input of others, and even quicker to relieve an incompetent Captain of command, many surmise it is why Nozaki and his Second-in-Command Brandán Yamanakawork so well.

A leader to be feared when he steps aboard ones ship, any trace of weakness or incompetence is easily picked up by the man and honed in on to the source. This knack to see the wrong extends in the opposite direction as well. He has a keen eye for talent both small and large in his Navy. Unafraid to remove aging and old captains stuck in their ways for younger men more willing to adapt and learn. He has gained many enemies throughout his career with this approach to his position, but has gained far more able and loyal allies in the process.

It is no secret that Miyazato Nozaki distrusts the new rule of the Empire as he has made it clear on a few occasions, but it doesn't mean he has deemed them incompetent and instead he strives to better his Navy and in turn the Empire he serves.

DN3p4.png

History:
Born to a Miyazato family of missionaries, Nozaki spent much of his young life learning the intricacies of the Way of Fire, being taught in things such as reading and writing, and even customer service in relation to his parents Inn Fubuki. The Inn itself is nestled inbetween Yakimara lands to the West and Cho lands to the East, right up against the Southern coast of the Fire Country. He spent much of his free time at the the small fishing village close to his home and would watch curiously as the fisherman would come back from their outings and unload their catches. The sea constantly enticing him to go out as he watched on in excitement.

By sixteen Nozaki had been groomed and taught to take over both the family Inn and the family Shrine of the same name, as well he had fallen for a young Shrine Maiden by the name of Yui. Both families quickly agreed to Nozaki's request to marry Yui, and a short period of peaceful life began as Nozaki took over the Shrine for three years, Yui raised there two oldest children and was later taught how to manage and run the Inn by Nozaki's mother. In the span of those three years Nozaki found himself increasingly burdened by the duties of leading the Shrine and his almost weekly visits to the small fishing town of his childhood began to dwindle and his dreams of the sea went with it.

Nozaki led the shrine for another seventeen years. By now his children were considered full adults, and his third was only two years from becoming an adult. His oldest son, Taiki had moved out and begun a family of his own while his daughter worked hand-in-hand with her mother to run the Inn and supervise the Shrine Maidens in training. It was the year 460, and rumors of small skirmishes and engagements between forces of large countries began to circulate through the Inn and even some visitors brought tales, simple things they had heard in their travels from others of a war broiling between the Wind and Earth countries. It was far off, unimportant, Nozaki had his family, his Shrine to tend to. 461 changed that notion. The war had escalated, and in the short period in between the Fire Country had seemed to accidentally entangle itself in the growing conflict.

The Daimyo put out a call for able-bodied men and women, and the noble Clans did as well. Nozaki's son went first, eager to fight for his lands and the future of his fledgling family, Nozaki followed suit shortly after when a simple visit to the fishing village of his youth turned into an enlistment in the pitiful Navy of the Fire Country. Whether it was some surpressed childhood dream to get on a ship and sail to far shores, fighting all the way, or a misconstrued sense of duty to the country that hadn't done much for him, Nozaki found himself standing aboard a ship just a few months later at the age of 36. The Captain of the vessel immediately picked out the older man arriving in his new cadre of fresh sailors. He was visibly older than the rest, spoke with a more educated tone, and could read and write with a practiced ease that the Captain took him in to be trained as the ships purser almost immediately.

Spending his time below deck balancing pay, setting right the ships inventory, and even learning how to plot on maps in his free time, Nozaki couldn't help but feel he had made the wrong decision. Surrounded by young men, eager and fit for battle he was a sore in their sides. The crew began referring to him as "The Old Man" due to his age and lack of strength compared to the rest of them and before long Nozaki had distanced himself from them to save from their incessant torment. He had almost completely forgotten that they were at war.

Ships to their starboard side. Six all together. A retinue of Republican galleys rowed hard for them just a few kilometers away, the Captain began preparing his ship for battle, and the two other ships in their small flotilla did the same. Nozaki did as he had been trained, donning the heavy armor and his shortsword that were meant only to protect the ship in case of boarding and taking his place on the deck, close to the Captain as the other jobs that had less to do with combat did. They turned to face their foe, their small pitiful longships were to be no match for the galleys ahead of them. Still, they pressed on.

The battle would see two Fire Country longships limp back to their homeport. Battered and beaten, they had escaped the engagement only with speed on their side. Nozaki was bloody and bruised, most of the crew had died defending off a Republican boarding attempt, and the Captain was mortally injured. In his dying throws the Captain named his First Mate as the new Captain, and surprisingly, Nozaki as the new First Mate. Something about Nozaki's older view on the world had place a trust between the two aging men early on, and apparently it had been enough to earn him a much higher position than he ever anticipated.

While their ship was repaired and their stock of crew replenished, Nozaki was drilled and learned in the true ways of sailing. In the peculiarities of combat at sea. In the intricate dance of ships facing off. He learned over the next few years and through the fires of small engagements what it meant to lead at sea, what it took. By the end of the war Nozaki had been given command of his own longship for the planned invasion of the Republic. He thought it a fools folly, but he didn't express it, he didn't want to ruin his chance at leadership. His chance to continue to advance in the ranks. The invasion succeeded and his position as a Captain was cemented by the success.

Following the Great War Nozaki returned home for a short period of time only to inform his wife that he would not be returning to his duties as the Head of the Shrine for his new career in the navy. She reluctantly agreed to support him and took over as the head of both the Shrine and Inn while he went off to play Sailor. With the end of the war many sailors and captains turned in their resignations or were forced out fo the service as their manpower was no longer needed, but Nozaki stayed. Slowly building a name for himself.

With the Imperial Reform and his subsequent years of service Nozaki found himself in the pool of candidate for Lord High Admiral of the Imperial Navy. This time, much to his liking rather than his surprise promotion to First Mate, he was chosen. After this Nozaki began to work closely with the First Commandant of the Imperial Marines, his younger counterpart Brandán Yamanaka, their plans to further develop their small and outdated navy into a force to be reckon with have grown over time and they are finally finding themselves in a position to take action and restore what pride and glory they had during the Great War and gain more to come.

Name of Technique: Dust Puppeteer
Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu, Puppeteering
Rank: A
Range: Long (~80 meters)
Nature Type: Earth Release
Handseals: Snake -> Tiger -> Ram -> Bird - > Tiger -> Ram -> Snake
Description:
Once the proper handseals have been formed, the user must press their hand to the ground and surge forth chakra through the earth. Any fallen bodies, friendly or foe, will be puppeted by the user and turned on their enemies to fight. Allows for the puppeting of a large number of bodies all at once with little effort on the side of the user to actually control them as the puppeted bodies will attack the users enemies without manual input in anything more than specifying who the enemy is. Their strength comes in the possibility for their overwhelming numbers.
Weakness:
The puppeted bodies do not retain their past physical strength, knowledge, intelligence, or techniques. They are rather slow, stupid, and easily dispatched. They crumble into dust upon being defeated.

Personality:
A sharp mind and a sharper tongue, Corin can be described as a bit of a womanizer, a bit of a bastard, and a damn good doctor; of which he is fully aware of all three descriptions of himself. He doesn't tend to gloat but he isn't afraid to put people in their place when it comes to his chosen field and anything that could possibly increase his work flow. Otherwise, Corin is a rather interesting man to engage in a conversation on just about anything due to his rather extensive schooling and love of increasing his knowledge on anything that he can manage to get a text on.

DN3p4.png

History:
Born and raised in the Aegean Republic on the floating island of Lygos in the city of the same name, Corin grew up to a lower class family that slaved themselves away in the industrial behemoth of a city they called home. Corin attended lower schooling and learned of his affinity for wind chakra sometime during his final year of basic education. His parents, not wanting a Shinobi in their family decided to withhold him from attending any of the many Shinobi academies he could have attended and opted to continue to pay for him to attend schooling even though it would mean more money out of their own already strained pockets. Corin didn't waste the opportunity provided to him by his parents and managed to place considerably high for all the years of his school life.

With much hard work the young man would be accepted to a university on a medical program in Panna. Being taught by what are arguably some of the greatest minds in the world Corin's want to continue to learn only grew. He would graduate his program and begin working in one of the many public hospitals of Panna, building his experience and credibility to one day hopefully open a practice of his own back on Lygos but with the outbreak of the Great War Corin would find himself in a precarious position. Remain neutral with the rest of his country, or do what he had sworn to do upon becoming a doctor and do as much good as he could.

Leaving Panna aboard a ship he would travel to the Fire Country where he would travel around with a caravan of volunteer doctors and medical assistants from other parts of the world as they trailed a Fire Country host. It would be in the tents of this caravan with the sounds of battle in the near distance that Corin would finally feel he was making a difference, that he had found his true calling as a medical practitioner. After the war ended Corin would remain in the service of the Fire Country, earning citizenship through his own service. Currently he serves as the Chief Medical Officer of the 11th Brigade of the Third Imperial Division, although how he ended up in a majority Cho unit is a tale worth listening to if you get the man drunk enough.

History:
Coming across them during a quick excursion into the Blackroot Vale for a rather hard to find herb, Corin would take a few of the curious leeches with him to study further once back at his camp. Upon a bit more poking and prodding he would find out that the leeches are honestly just normal leeches, other than the fact that they seem to glow a blue hue in darkness when disturbed they are about as normal as they come. Instead of tossing them away to die or perhaps run rampant where they were staying Corin would keep them alive, feeding them raw meats and freshly killed small game while he tried to figure out what to do with his little pets. Upon reading a rather controversial medical paper on the use of leeches for the restoration of blood flow, clearing of debris and pathogens, and even restoration of recently reattached limbs Corin would get his idea. Thus," Corin's Children" as the 11th have named them, were born.

SCARS:
Possessing several scars gained in the field, Ansley's most notable are a pair of parallel jagged scars across his abdomen and a lone scar stretching down his back starting just below the collar on his back right side.

TATTOOS/PIERCINGS:
Possessing no piercings, Ansley does have a number of tattoos on both forearms which he normally hides under a long sleeve dress shirt. Runes of old and symbols of an esoteric past from lands far distant are looped together in scrawling script and diagrams up and down his forearms. These tattoos are meant to afford some form of protection or assistance according to their pasts, though Ansley is well aware that they are all inert and has gotten them more out of interest in their meanings than any sort of practical use.

POSITIVE TRAITS:
Adaptable | Confident | Decisive | Intelligent | Objective | Perceptive | Resourceful | Strong-willed | Well-read

NEGATIVE TRAITS:
Abrasive | Blunt | Cynical | Deceitful | Eccentric | Evasive | Fatalistic | Hypocritical | Messy | Morbid | Sarcastic

LIKES:

DISLIKES:
Cowardice | Inexorable People | Nighttime | Liars | Large Gatherings

FEARS:
Being Controlled | Failure | Surrender

MOTIVATIONS:
Ensuring Peace | Maintaining his way of life | The Pursuit of Knowledge

BRIEF PERSONALITY:
Commonly described as distant and heartless by those within the Bureau that don't know him well, Ansley is really just an individual of such a cynical and preoccupied nature that he pushes most people away that don't truly want to know if the man on the other end of those words and actions is truly as callous as he appears. Those that look a bit further find a bright mind, constantly racing to the next step, always on the hunt for his next lead, or searching for more information to fill his near insatiable desire for knowledge. Those that manage to insert themselves up to and even past this point in Ansley's life find a charmingly erratic man, unlikely to ever make a true friend, and destined to never be the best of company, but a friend worth one's time and willing to give his own despite his racing mind and actions.

OCCUPATION:
Investigator

FAMILY:
Oliver Robert Norcott - Father (Retired, Professor)
Marie Ari Norcott - Mother (Nurse)

Isaac - Calico Housecat
Darwin - Black Housecat

OTHER RELATIONSHIPS:
Theodore Strife - Coworker

BACKGROUND:
A son of two intellectuals, Ansley has always been engrossed in old books and the ever-growing desire to learn more. From a young age, his father allowed him into the library of the University he taught at, keeping him busy for hours amongst the smells of pleasant earthy tomes and smoky volumes of literature. His time spent in libraries and buried in words of authors long dead only increased as he aged. Though he still took part in sports, excelling in wrestling specifically, the boy with the thirst for knowledge never quite gained the more normal social interactions that shape most people into well functioning social animals, Ansley was always more content with the comfort and company of aging parchment and cracked vellum leading to the eccentric and somewhat estranged adult he is today.

His arrival to the Monster Investigation Bureau years ago was fueled by this quest for more and has seen his analytical mind flourish in a workplace far better suited for the quick to judge and the quicker to act. Sustained by this desire to learn everything he can, to truly understand the world around him Ansley pushes forward where other Investigators stop their hunts, and where most Investigators pull the trigger or sink the dagger upto its hilt, Ansley instead understands.

NAME
Elea

AGE
25

NATIONALITY
Human / Ɖeinian

OCCUPATION
Expedition Quartermaster

PERSONALITY
Where Elea's people are seen by the Persians as a boisterous and powerful lot, Elea strikes a more subdued aspect of her strange people from the North. Meek and delicate, Elea moves through life as an afterthought of others, sticking to the side and allowing anyone but her to take the stage. She is accommodating and cheerful, known to speak in hushed tones, her voice steady and restrained while her eyes sit peacefully upon others, prepared to placate and dissuade them should misunderstandings arise. Though her mouth and her eyes paint the picture of an ideal servant, her hands play to the tune of a life she claims to have since left behind.

Biography
Born amongst the snow-blanketed valleys belonging to the Mysnfelt, Elea was the only child of a mildly successful fur trapper and trader. Her mother had passed during her birth, and her father, though good to Elea, was seldom around as he left on trapping expeditions and trading ventures to neighboring villages. Raised almost entirely by the elderly women of her village, she grew into a young girl yearning to leave the stuffy weaving halls and frigid grazing fields of her home village. One day, when her father had returned from a good trapping season, she was told she would be taken with him South, to the lands of Greece and if they were lucky, maybe even beyond. They would set out soon after, making good time down thawing rivers and across valleys she'd never laid eyes on.

Elea reached Greece, and, with her father's guidance and a steady hand managed to go beyond to the lands of Egypt. They had landed on the shores of Misr and business was good for the first few days. Here, though the sights were beyond Elea's wildest imagining, her father's journey would end. Struck down by sudden illness, Elea found herself alone in a land of strangers. Surrounded by a language she knew nothing of, a culture she couldn't even begin to grasp, and a sun that blazed as hot as Muspel, Elea found her yearning for adventure dashed across the Egyptian sands. She starved for a while, stole for a while longer, and found herself unwilling employed by less than savory members of Egyptian society on more than one occasion. Despite her rough beginnings she managed to find her way into the employ of one of the myriad instruments of Persian governance in Egypt through the form of the Explorer's Guild in Cairo.

Abilities
  • Projection - As all Ɖein's before her, and; if it be the will of the Gods; all Ɖein's to follow, Elea is gifted with the Ɖeinian ability to project. Her thoughts are made manifest in the minds of others, whether they wished it or not.
  • Literate in and capable of speaking with exceptional Persian for a Ɖein.
  • Trickster Fingers - Coming of age alone in a world full of strangers and oddities offers little in the way of comfort, though there are many opportunities for learning.
