Forbidden Love of Another

"Next. Stainless steel and white gold." She looked at the door and then at him. "Babe, who's that? I didn't know others were coming over."

"Yeah, neither did I," growled Isaac. He took Shade's hand and began slowly walking toward the front door. "It's another wolf," he whispered, even though he knew the other wolf would be able to hear him. "Stay behind me."

When Isaac opened the door, he got a shock. He was expecting a burly, dirty, huge man, perhaps, or a villain twirling his moustache. Instead, it was a boy.

He looked even younger than Isaac and Shade, fifteen at the most. He had light blond, messy hair that covered his forehead and almost fell into his crystal blue eyes. He was very pale, like Isaac had become, but unlike Isaac, this boy was so skinny, he looked sick. Anorexic, even.

"Can I help you?" asked Isaac, unable to keep the confusion from his face.

"Isaac Harrison," said the boy. He had a calm, level voice and an Australian accent that struck Isaac right home. His parents were both fully Australian. "My name is Brody Sinclair. I'm a part of your pack."

Shade held onto his arm as they went over to the door. She was shocked to see a young boy. "Isaac...."she muttered softly in his ear, still a bit shocked. "Umm... What would that pack be, if I may ask?"she asked, still holding onto her boyfriend.

Before the boy could answer, Isaac picked up the scents of other wolves, hiding in the trees. "Come inside," he said to Brody, backing up slowly and hurriedly closing the door after Brody stepped inside. He kept a tight hold on Shade.

"Er, come into the kitchen," he said, leading Brody and Shade. When they arrived, Isaac turned to the boy. "Answer her question. What pack?"

Brody smiled calmly. "Well, we don't exactly have a name or anything," he chuckled. "We're just a group of wolves, just like you. We've always lived around the area. You even go to school with some of them."

"Who?" asked Isaac. "Who goes to school with us?"

"Never mind that," said Brody. "I'm here on behalf of the Alpha, to formally invite you to your initiation."

"Initiation? What the hell is that? Who's this Alpha? Why didn't he come?"

"Because," said Brody. "It's tradition that the wolf who bit you has to invite you."

She was shocked. "You bit my boyfriend? But that bite was huge!"she said. She then thought of something. "You said wolves from your pack go to our school? Then.... Is Jenson in the pack?"she asked, holding Isaac's hand and biting her lip. She sat down on the stool and looked at them.

Isaac didn't listen to or hear Shade's second question. A deep, thick growl built up in his chest, and his fingernails turned to claws. His gaze fixed on Brody, his vision turning red.

"You bit me?" he growled.

Shade looked at her boyfriend. "Isaac. Baby. Love. My prince. Calm down. Okay? Calm down."

Isaac retracted the claws, but continued to growl.

"There's no need for this," said Brody soothingly. He turned to Shade. "He might listen to you."

"Might? He does listen to me. Come on lovey calm down babe." She kissed his cheek and hugged him lovingly.

"Shade," he said softly. "I love you, I really do. But please let me go so I can rip this guy's head off."

Two more people -- wolves -- stepped into the room. One was a young man with black hair and a jagged scar. The other was a curvy teenage girl with long blonde hair. She was very pretty.

"Okay, Brody, you're not working, time for reinforcements," said the girl. She had a thick Texan accent. She looked at Shade. "Honey, you might want to let him go. He's probably gonna blow a casket in about ten seconds."

"Hey! Isaac calm down! You're not going to do that you know it!" Once the other two came in, she shook her head. "Honey, I can handle my own boyfriend. And I know he won't hurt him. Now, come on Isaac."

Isaac tried to calm himself, he really did. He wanted to make Shade happy, but he couldn't stop looking at Brody. He did this.

The girl sighed, walked over and grabbed Isaac's chin, forcing him to look at her. Isaac studied her face; golden blonde eyebrows and lashes matching her hair, brown eyes and the same pale skin all werewolves seemed to have. She was very pretty. Isaac stopped growling, mainly because he could no longer see Brody.

While Isaac and the girl maintained eye contact, the other wolf the girl came in with escorted Brody out. When the door slammed closed, the girl let go of Isaac's chin. The girl smirked at Shade. "Hun, I told you. It takes a wolf to know a wolf -- you might have been able to calm him before, but he's ours now."

Shade let go of Isaac when the girl came over. She watched how the girl calmed Isaac down. She felt hurt. "Whatever..... Isaac I-I got to go.... Bye..."she said softly and walked out to her car and drove off, crying. She was over thinking everything. She went to the park and sat under the tree her and Isaac had their first kiss under. She just sat there and cried, hurting.

"No, no, no," said Isaac as Shade left. He made a move to go after her, but the girl stopped him.

"Let her go, darling," she said. "She needs time."

"Let me go," snarled Isaac. "Who the fuck are you, anyway?"

"Bella Morgenstern, I'm the beta of the pack," she answered.

Isaac pushed past her. "I literally don't give a fuck," he snapped. "I'm going to go find my girlfriend."

He burst out of the door. Werewolves surrounded him, some in their wolf forms, others human. But they were all intent on stopping him, keeping Shade from him.

Angry at Bella and the other wolves, Isaac ripped into his wolf form, snowy white fur blending in with the winter ground. He shot past the other wolves, running at full speed. He picked up Shade's scent, the cinnamon, smoke, sea water and roses, and followed it to --

-- the park where they had there first kiss. She sat there, under a tree, crying. Isaac felt her pain, and felt so guilty.

Still a wolf, he walked slowly toward her, his nose facing the ground. The park was deserted, but the tree was secluded anyway, so no one could see him. He walked slowly up to Shade and sat on his haunches like a dog, whimpering.

Shade looked at him then sighed. "What? Just go back to your pack and that pretty girl that you obviously like better.... Just go.... I'm useless anyway... I can't do anything for you now...."she muttered then went back to hiding her own face. She started crying again. She was so pretty and tall compared to average Shade. Her heart was breaking more and more.

Isaac shook his head. He couldn't change back -- he would be completely naked if he did. Instead, he rested his head on Shade's legs, making eye contact with her. He felt so bad.

Isaac.

What? What the fuck -- what are you.

Isaac, it's James.

James. James was one of his friends from school -- they smoked together behind the gym sometimes.

Yeah, that James.

You can read my thoughts.

I'm in the pack, aren't I?

WHAT.

Shade kept crying and didn't look up. She felt hideous compared to the other girl. "Fuck this! Fuck my life! I'm hideous! How can you love someone as hideous as me?! Go back to that other girl! She's prettier than me!"she cried into her arms and legs. She hit her head on her knees, crying more.

♦Ω♦ ISAAC HARRISON ♦Ω♦

James stepped out of the trees. "Shade? It's James, from school. I'm in Isaac's pack."

Tell her what happened.

"Look, Isaac can't change back, purely because he'll be naked and that's very unmodest. Anyway, we're in the pack together and we can hear each other's thoughts -- selectively, only when we absolutely need to. Isaac wants you to know that he has no interest in Bella -- that's the blonde girl -- and he only loves you."

How did Bella even calm me?

"Bella could calm him because she's been training young wolves for years. She knows how they work, how they tick. She can stop them. It's not you at all, it's Bella's experience. Isaac couldn't even control himself -- there was no way anyone other than a trainer could snap him out of it."

She wiped off her face, trying to get rid of the makeup smears. "R-Really? B-But... She's so pretty... A-And I know when I-Isaac thinks a girl is prettier than me... He looks at them like their models!"she said and started crying again. She covered her face again. She felt terrible. "He never looks at me like that anymore!"she cried and bit her lip.

♦Ω♦ ISAAC HARRISON ♦Ω♦

Isaac shot up, shaking his wolf head and whimpering sadly. Tell her -- tell her, no, that's not true --

Isaac, unable to sit still, began pacing, walking in a circle around the tree.

"No, no, Shade, that's not true," said James. "He might look at pretty girls like models, but -- and this is me, not him, saying this -- you don't see the way he looks at you. He looks at you like you're his world, his everything, the literal meaning of his existence. And you know Jenson's girlfriend, that bitch Charlotte? I heard her say to Tyler, 'I want Jenson to look at me like that.' You hear that? Charlotte is jealous of you."
