  • Setting

    Due to vast climate changes after the extinction of the human race, Mother Nature returned to her natural state of running the planet. Much of the world is carpeted in dense, moist forests with trees towering far above even the largest dragon's head. These forests are rich with life, birds and the occasional farrie. There are still places in which the ways of the old world can be seen rising from the vines and mosses, the places of the humans. Dragons spend much time nesting and exploring in such places, (these places are called Drer´ which simply means ancient), despite the dangers of collapsing structures.

    This particular pack calls home a fourteen mile stretch of forest which is home to a Drer´ with a the large metal skeleton of a skyscraper. This is the Alpha Tower and the two structures beside it are the dens of other pack members. There is a small hollowed out place at the base of the Alpha tower which houses the nursery. A clearing between the three structures serves as the central feeding and meeting place for the pack.

    Tau'l - A quadrupedal reptilian hunter. A Tau'l hunts in large packs often ranging from 8-12 members, rarely seen alone. With strong muscles and a very thick hide, they are built for harsh combat and deadly prey.

    They often keep to forests and Drer areas, rarely do they venture out to the open plains or coastal areas. Not much for climbing as they are at risk from flying threats, they spend the majority of their time on land where they are a much more formidable foe.

    Anrik´: Feline-like creature with massive claws and a thick hide. These are primarily solitary animals and spend most of the daylight hiding from the sun. They thrive in the nighttime and are deadly to yearling dragons.

    However, these creatures are known for their combat skills and are often used as "coming of age" hunts. Young dragons who seek to become successful hunters ,and have completed the majority of their combat training, will track down and face one of these creatures to the death. Those that are successful will be granted great honor within the pack and assigned the role of Hunter.

    Kalu - They are the most common aerial creature in the land. They look very harmless and are the main scavenger of the land and skies. Having no clear defensive weapons these scavengers are highly skittish and rely heavily on strength in numbers to survive. Although not generally seen as Fen'zi, dragons have been known to hunt them in times of famine.

    Blue Fen'zi - The smallest prey animal, even young dragons can kill these very easily. They are for an easy or convenient catch or if the food options are at their minimum. These are seen as easy kills and offer little glory in the eyes of dragons.

    Horned Fen'zi - With an impressive crest a Horned Fen'zi are a bit more difficult to catch. But still even a young dragon can hunt them regularly. Seen as an easier hunt. Both male and female of this species carry antlers and both can inflict injury if they are not hunted correctly.

    Armored Fen'zi - An armored Fen'zi often travels in large groups. And are difficult to take down without a lot of experience doing so. Even the most skilled dragons are cautious. They are a respectable prey.

    Brute Fen'zi - A Brute Fen'zi is a well respected prey to dragons. They can kill dragons and are known to do so. If a dragon male hunts one and provides it to their intended, this is an incredible source of pride. A successful hunt of this animal proves their ability to provide and defend the female and their young.

    Alpha: Leader, wisest, strongest and highest ranking members
    Beta: Second in command, works closely with alpha pair to ensure safety of the pack
    Hunter: Act as main providers for the pack. (Alphas also carry this title and contribute as necessary often participating in pack hunts.)
    Healer: A Dragon with knowledge of healing magic, ensures the pack is healthy and tends to dragons hatchlings in the first weeks of life to assign ranks with alpha pair approval.
    Omega: Primary babysitters, lowest ranking and often picked on by other pack members. Anyone can be demoted to this if a challenge is lost to a higher ranking pack member

Personality:
Ariéas is bullheaded, straight forward and fearless. He is never afraid to tell his thoughts and opinion about a matter and cares little if you disagree. He does not like to be questioned but is willing to listen within reason. It is not often that you will find him angry however, he is usually laughing with his mate or making a pack member smile. He has a big heart and cares deeply for his pack, willing to go to the ends of the earth to protect his people.

Bio/History: Born to the alpha pair Trexl and Yan, Ariéas was bred for greatness. His father fought to keep the pack safe and trained his young son carefully to ensure the pack's future. When Ariéas was a young dragon, only one hundred and fifty years old and barely old enough to stretch his wings across the sky, there was a terrible fire. Not the kind lit in the night by a lightening storm, no, a fire lit and fueled by magic. To this day the dying screams of his mother ring in his nightmares and his father's frantic pleading for him to escape send shivers down his scales. Ariéas vowed to pick up the pieces of the few surviving members of the original pack, even at such a young age he was able to motivate them to escape the danger and live on.

Years passed and eventually he was the only surviving member of his father's pack. Defeated Ariéas sought out other packs and tried to become one with them, only to butt heads with their alphas, challenge, and lose. Years of this racked his mind and body, spending countless hours training and hunting alone to hone in on his skills. He developed and unchecked rage in his early adolescence that translated physically into scorching forests and destroying Drer´s everywhere he went. The only peace he found was when he soared high above the forest and followed the winding shapes of rivers and streams until he lost them among the trees below.

The true peace came in the springtime. He was alone, as he had been and had come to terms with being a loner, when he scented her. A lone female whom he tracked down and briefly squabbled with at first. She was cunning, small, beautiful as a rose in the summer but deadlier than any fire or storm. He fell madly in love with her and quickly made her his own. After a few failed attempts to nest, the two sought out sanctuary in an old Drer where they now reside, gathering their pack and awaiting the proper season to bring in the next generation of dragons.

Personality: Cunning, Patient, Ruthless. She is often calm and relaxed most days. Her mate having given her some of his relaxed nature when he is around her. But she refuses to let him be correct all the time. Though he outweighs her easily she will not hesitate to put him in his place or anyone if the need to do so calls. Though she may not always do so immediately. Taking her time to make points with brutal efficiency and clarity, even sometimes to the injury of the other party. Otherwise she holds a protective nature as her mate does. Keeping the pack protected and together the best she can.

Bio: Being a rather lithe dragon even for females Rya was one many took as an easy mark. And in her clutch she was. Often losing out when it came to food and other resources. This being why in a fight or squabble she is ruthless and never pulls effort back in a fight. However what she excelled at was a cunning perspective and speed in mind and body. Learning with her physical limitations she would never beat a large female or male in a straight fight. In preparation she began to expand her mind. Training with her mother extensively on the magic that runs through the veins of every dragon and everything in the land. She had to try twice as hard to earn what she had but when she was old enough she had more advantages than meets the eye. With great speed she also has an incredible trove of magic and ways to use it in her mind.

After leaving her family pack she had found many males to court her. Some were desirable but lacked anything to give to the bond. She wanted one to join but if she was going to be the only strength in the pairing they were not worth her time. Taught by her mother she was meant to be picky. If you choose an unworthy partner you will only breed weak hatchlings. Only when one attempted did she find a flicker of hope that a partner would be worthy. His name being Aireas. She thought he was just a brute. Another male who had strength but was not strong of mind. But after a brief time with him she couldn't deny that he had won her over. And after a brief fight he had proven he had some skill and heart to go with it. After that she has been incredibly loyal to him and excited at the thought of the next generation.

Weaknesses: She feels vulnerable in the unknown, and dreads being unprepared

Personality: Lethal, Clever, and Proud. Azrael is a mystery, the reason for this is his relatively short time on the land which the pack calls home. Lethal in every fight, he has earned the respect of many packs, both by words and combat paired with his honor in every battle. Often finding himself pondering his decision to be alone, only finding refuge from this problem when he is either hunting, or flying high above the clouds with the sound barrier to his back. He has the tendency to leave an area very soon, due to his distrust of others. Although deep in his heart he want others be there for him, his severe distrust, and a personality which doesn't bow down to anyone dictated his life thus far. He will fearlessly fight anyone if it meant he is either rewarded or if he is fighting for justice or for the weak. Never before being defeated in any battle he has grown a self pride which he safeguards ruthlessly.

Bio/History: Azrael was born in a powerful pack, a pack which others envied. When he was born, the healer of the pack sensed an instability in him, one that would endanger everyone in the pack was he to stay. At the age of 1, his parents decided to get rid of him, they valued their pack more than their child, and they didnt want their pride to be torn by a child with an abnormality, they threw him into a canyon river so they dont have to kill him by hand. Azraels life was saved narrowly when he hit the river where it was deep enough not to instantly kill him. Although he escaped death his future held him to endure cruelties that were unimaginable to most dragons. His condition caused him to be recruited to an elite organization called the alliance at the age of 130 where he was trained to be a force of death and justice. His absolute efficiency in battle had earned him his name, AZRAEL which meant Archangel of Death in an ancient dialect of a now extinct species of wyverns. After about 2000 years of training he was an elite assasin and an outstanding hunter capable of bringing anybody down in the flash of an eye, he decided to leave the alliance, to get out of the ongoing violence and death. This caused him to break of and run free among the lands. Although he is powerful he has never wanted to assume leadership, and his distrust of other dragons caused him to think not of admitting to a pack. But times are changing, and deep inside his true feelings are taking over.


Weakness: Although he has mastered the art of hiding his true face, deep down he is as fragile as he was when he was thrown down that cliff. Because of his imbalance of elemental control, most of the time he is unable to use his elemental powers without tiring himself. When raged, he loses control of his actions.

Personality: Aya is very soft spoken and often time doesn't really enjoy conflict among others. She is one to adjust the way she acts around others. If another being is soft spoken she will be a bit more outgoing with them and try to make them feel comfortable. If the being is loud and high activity then she will go back down to her quiet self. Those close to her know that she enjoys talking a lot which she feels embarrassed for it as she does not want to bother anyone much.

Bio/History: Aya grew up only knowing her mother. She has no idea what happened to her father and her mother always refuse to tell her what happened to him. Despite the harsh life of struggling for food and moving from place to place Aya always kept herself with a positive attitude. It always worried her mother as she thought that Aya would be taken advantaged of but Aya was smarter than that. Although she believes in the good in the world she also knows of the bad. Aya prefers to be alone especially after her mother passed but she does not mind the company of others and sometimes even welcomes it.

Weakness: She isn't a fighter at all. She has very limited skills in combat so she is never one to engage in a fight and prefers to stay away from them. She is easily startled and can have great anxiety whenever in a conflict.​

Size: 144 feet at the shoulder; nose to tail tip he measures about 115 feet

Skills: Chemical Control, Sharpened Senses and Reflexes, Enhanced Regeneration and Healing, Enhanced Endurance and Scale Defense

Breath Element: Chemical Mist - Zendyr's body naturally emanates a misty chemical which, at low concentrations, accelerates cell growth, healing, and even calms down otherwise panicked or agitated individuals. The healing mist takes on a white shade with its signature scent of vanilla, honey, and other fragrant aromas. However, as Zendyr increases the concentration of the mist to lethal levels, it becomes a sickening black fog with a putrid stench of rotting corpses. The black fog is poisonous which Zendyr can expel in the form of a breath attack or let it radiate from his body. In lethal doses, the poison attacks the nervous system, causing paralysis and paranoia before it shuts down the victim's organs before cutting off its breathing reflexes. In parallel to this, Zendyr can also use a breath-like move with the healing mist to assist or aid allies from a distance.

Zendyr is immune to the damaging effects of the mist and the healing mist's effects are more effective on him.

These chemicals are produced throughout Zendyr's body which means that biting or eating through his scales or flesh is a deadly gamble of eating a nourishing meal or being poisoned to death at the first bite.

Pack Rank: Omega - Male

Personality: Calm, calculated, and slow to anger, Zendyr is a benevolent soul who seeks to nurture and preserve rather than destroy. He has a cool demeanor and temperament which allows him to excel as a caretaker of the eggs, hatchlings, and fledglings. Zendyr is also an avid dreamer, preferring to gaze at the skies when not busy, though his eyes have long been gone. He is fond of imagining the past, of the days of him and Seluna, and of the days where he could still see the world around him. Friendly, kind, and trusting, Zendyr always prefers to work towards the benefit of the pack rather than his own gains.

Bio/History: Pride was always the downfall of many a dragon. One's pride became a hurdle which made them overconfident to the dangers lurking in every shadow. Such was the fate of Zendyr, once a member of the now-extinct Mistwalker pack, a raider flight of dragons which focused on expanding their pack through defeating rival packs rather than growing in a single nest. A skilled Beta Hunter, Zendyr quickly rose to prominence as he led brutal attacks, decimating entire packs and slaughtering those who did not swear loyalty to the Mistwalkers. Zendyr derived so much power from exerting violence over others that he never thought the same thing could happen when he finally bonded with Seluna, a dragon he found when he was about to ransack a rival pack. It was the first time Zendyr wanted to protect rather than destroy, and when he finally had a change of heart, the Mistwalkers were given their just reward when the splintered groups of those they had destroyed before banded together to massacre a common hatred.

Many died in the Battle of the Barren Moors, a barren and razed forestland where long rotten dragon bones litter the dark soil. During the battle, Seluna had been killed while Zendyr was able to escape as he plummeted to a nearby river. He had been blinded by the battle with both of his eyes damaged beyond sight, leaving him to wander the lands in eternal darkness as he reflected on his faults. With his eyes gone and the fury of battle waned, Zendyr focused on honing his remaining senses and developing another use for his chemical mists-- he realized that by manipulating the chemical compounds he released, his otherwise poisonous mists could actually be used to heal, to rejuvenate, and to calm.

By the time he finished his self-imposed exile as a vak, Zendyr encountered the rising leader of a nearby pack by the name of Aireas. While prideful like his former self, Zendyr could feel that the dragon was an honorable and wise leader who would be able to lead his pack to greater heights through the creation of life-- not by destroying others. Aireas was also the only one who was willing to accept a blinded dragon such as Zendyr as compared to the other packs he tried to gain access to. When he was given the privilege of being a member of the pack, Zendyr chose to become an Omega-- a caretaker of the future generation of dragons. While a position commonly disdained by others, the sightless and penitent dragon took pride in his work. With each small stirrings of life and heartbeats echoing softly from the eggs he cared for, Zendyr hopes that he could atone for his ruthlessness in the past.

The Mistwalker believes that with every flap of a newborn's wing, he could relive the possible future that he and Seluna would have shared with their own younglings had he not let his pride build the foundations of his own downfall.

Other: While definitely an able fighter, Zendyr prefers peace and quiet rather than being actively on the offensive. His sharpened senses of hearing and smell allow him to distinguish each dragon by its voice, each youngling with the flap of its wing, and each existence by the stench permeating from their figure.

Weakness: His blindness (an evident disability since his eyes are a disturbing shade of pearl-white) puts a significant damper on his fighting abilities. He is also a pacifist, hesitating to fight unless openly provoked and challenged by other dragons. While he does possess a heightened healing factor due to his innate chemicals, the mist itself can be blown away by a strong enough wind. While Zendyr can try to counter this by thickening the fog, he still has to exert a large amount of effort just to fight properly which can be exploited to defeat him.

Name: Syril’th

Age: 1974

Appearance/Description: Being a younger dragon, Syril’th still has much growing to do. She has become a master of the sky, flying swiftly and silently due to her slender body. The spines on her neck, back, elbows, and tail glow when conducting electricity and her great gold horns hum with static when threatened or when her magic is fully charged. She is adept at camouflage since her underbelly scales mirror the sky itself while in flight. Syril’th’s glittering, dark blue scales catch the eyes of all who see her.

Size: 100 feet tall, 113 feet from nose to tail tip

Skills: Combat Stun, Electroreceptors (detects electric pulses in the body), ability to influence weather (exclusive to rainstorms), ability to produce a vocal sonic boom (this ability is limited in use due to its draining nature)

Breath Element: Electricity

Pack Rank: Hunter

Personality: Syril’th is relatively friendly once her trust is gained, but she usually keeps to herself within a pack. She is viciously loyal and is willing to die for those she loves. Passionate and fearless, A calculated risk taker. Enjoys carving stones utilizing her breath element to scar the rock.

Bio/History: Not much is known about her other than that she has been a loner for the past few hundred years. She seeks a pack but dares not let her desperation for companionship show through.

Other: Over devotion to her pack, often leads to costly mistakes.

Appearance/Description: Unlike the picture, Valos is leucistic (Primarily white with black markings in odd patterns. Black eyes). He also possess blade-like claws on both his fore and hind feet as well as larger, longer scales or bone-like protrusions along his limbs and tail. He has a ridge of quills running from his crest down the length of his spine.

Size: 125 feet tall at the shoulder, 115 feet long.

Skills: He possess venom glands that produce a powerful toxin (Both hematoxic and neurotoxic, similar to some pitvipers) which he coats on his claws and spines. In combat Valos prefers to skirmishing and grappling to outright brawling, using his venom, claws, and precision to his advantage.

Breath Element: Natural venom/acid

Personality: Aloof, yet almost child-like in his playfulness, Valos appears to be a mixed bag of emotions. Though he often seems calloused and insensitive, even downright malicious, he has on occasion been spotted in the nursery under a pile of hatchlings. More often than not Valos has an air of indifference and a blase attitude. He refuses to let situations irritate him or let anger goad him into acting before thinking.

Bio/History: Life would have seemed to have turned it's back on Valos from the moment he hatched. The runt of his male siblings, and a mutant at that, he was lucky to have made it from his nest alive. Neither his sire or dame, though, had the heart to outright kill their offspring. So they abandoned it, taking the other siblings and leaving the mutant to nature and order. Sooner or later, they thought, it would die and all would be righted.

Save for the fact that Valos lived. Thrived even.

Not that life was easy by any means. Being primarily white meant he stuck out while hunting. The first few hundred years on the ground were tough but Valos soon found his method. He knew the smell of his venom, and if he could inflict a wound deep enough to get it into the target's veins he could track them until they were weak enough for him to take them.

When his strength came and he could fly Valos soon found more ways to apply this method. He took to a land of mist and fog, using the natural phenomenon to help mask his unusual coloration.

Being a mutant made it difficult to find a pack. Many outright drove him from their territory, leaving him bloodied and sometimes close to death. After years of searching though he stumbled upon an unlikely match. Now, having just recently joined, Valos waits to see how he adjusts to pack life. And how the pack adjusts to him.

Other/Weakness: Untrusting; A lifetime spent alone has made Valos suspicious of other dragons, even those who mean to help.

Skills: Is a fairly decent hunter and a skilled flyer, though she can be slightly clumsy when it comes to her landings. Marahuté has a large, poisonous barb at the end of her tail, much like that of a scorpion. The barb houses various different neurotoxins; a paralyzer, a corrosive, a pain amplifier, and a highly concentrated one that takes more energy to use, but is potent enough to kill. Because of her young age, Marahuté is still learning how to control which poison to use and how much.

Personality: Marahuté is kind and caring to others no matter what their circumstances and sometimes can be a bit too trusting when it comes to strangers. She is often very energetic and cheerful. Marahuté has an overwhelming curiosity, especially when it comes to human things. She will spend hours trying to figure out something as simple as a fork and often collects the pieces she finds the most interesting. Marahuté is very loyal to her pack and happily bare her teeth and fight to defend those she's closest to.

Bio/History: It was the first time her curiosity had gotten her into trouble. Marahuté had been just a hatchling when she wandered off from her nest while playing. She soon became lost and unable to find her way back to her nest. Marahuté spent the first day and a half alone, afraid, and hungry. Then out of some stroke of luck, Marahuté was found by Ariéas and his pack. Ariéas' mate, Rya, took Marahuté in as her own, becoming an adopted mother and teacher to the young dragon. Marahuté grew up happy in her new pack, becoming as close to them as she would have to her own.

Weaknesses: Overwhelming curiosity - Marahuté's curiosity has gotten into trouble on numerous occasions.
Poison - Because of her young age, Marahuté is still learning to control the amount of poison to use. So when playing or sparring, Marahuté tries not to use her tail.

Other: Often, when she's particularly angry, her barb will twitch causing poison to drip from the stinger.

Personality: An outgoing dragon, Aise has a friendly nature that can turn to murderous in a heartbeat. She is extremely loyal to her Alphas, and will not hesitate to fight and/or die for them. She is always open to conversation with her fellow flightmates, and won't turn away a dragon in need. She doesn't take well to insults and will most likely hurl them back at the offender, along with more colorful ones included. Aise loves young hatchlings, and will sometimes be found playing or cuddling with them. She is always open to new things, but will tell you if she thinks something is stupid, a result of her uncensored tongue. She watches it around the young ones though. She is always looking for friends, and can be furiously accepting of other dragons sometimes, but it's usually just an act to pull them in and see what they're actually like. Somewhat cautious around Fire Dragons, but still loves to play with anyone and everyone. Her personality is said to open even the most shuttered of hearts.
Bio/History: Aise was abandoned when she was just over 300 years old. Her Egg Mother told her that if she was to get anywhere in life, she had to start with being able to survive. Cuasa, her Egg Mother, was a Water Dragon, and her mate another Water Dragon, so Aise turning up as a Ice Dragon was seen as a threat to them. They left her in a small clearing in the woods under a long dead dragon's bones and flew off in search of new nesting grounds. She stayed there for 3 nights before deciding to follow what her Egg Mother had told her and survive. And survive she did.
She started by hunting some Blue Fen'zi around the forest. She became skilled at hunting those, and when she aged a few decades, she had already moved onto some Horned Fen'zi. After reaching her 700 year alive, she had grown considerably as a dragon and as a hunter. She gained a new found respect for the pack life, and for the company of other dragons. She grew fond of the small wildlife around the forest and would be known to leave the remains of some hunts under a tree, or beside an animal's den for them.
When she was well over a century of age, she found the Alpha Female Rya out in the forest and bounded up to her, instantly chattering away, and completely ignoring how the older dragon didn't speak to her at first. Aise followed the Alpha Female to her flight, talking loud enough to wake to slumbering. She stayed just outside of the Drer', where a tree had slightly fallen into a large ravine, and it's roots spread across the top of it. She didn't roam the pack Drer' like she wished she could, in slight fear of angering the Alphas and being kicked out. She only went out to hunt, and shared her spoils with those who came by. She was becoming friends with anyone who braved her sunny aura that was at lengthy odds with her Ice magic. The Alphas hadn't accepted her into the flight yet, but she still stayed on the outskirts Drer' hoping. She gradually worked up the courage, and one day, showed up at the Alpha Tower, where she pledged her loyalty in the only way she knew to the Alpha Pair, which was taking one of the spikes from her tail and pulling it out to present it to the Alphas in front of all who were watching, knowing what she was doing would hurt her, but still doing it anyways. Aise had learned the tradition from a wandering Ice Dragon who was rude to her at first, but softened up like everyone else had. Great sadness resided in her soul but she held it in, covering it in layers of happiness and loyalty. She had found a sort of home in the flight, and won't give them up for anything.
Weaknesses: Aise grew up lonely, so she has a life-long fear of being left alone again. If she is alone for more then a few days, she will grow agitated and wild, only calming down when she sees another dragon she knows and trusts. She also needs to be hydrated all the time, or else her scales will start to dry out and her Ice will fail her. She also has a weakness to Fire(duh).
Other: She wears a simple necklace, made of a scale she found at the spot she was dumped at, and the coarse hair of a creature she killed. She is also skilled at making jewlery, and is sometimes seen with younger dragons surrounding her while she makes them a simple bracelet or necklace(with the permission of the parents, of course). She has a few simple piercings in her left ear.
