In mythica the ancient world's pantheons coalesce and combine into a cosmic frenzy; a metaverse maelstrom where they're forced to coexist and coalign— they exchange stories over celestial smoothie bar dates, negotiate alliances in grand, epic chambers, and indulge in the timeless artistry of divine galleries.

In this hodgepodge collection, gods and goddesses navigate their divine duties and indulge in their immortal passions, all from the luxury of high-tech modernity. Helios oversees the day from a luminous tower that acts as a lighthouse for the metaverse while Bastet rarely leaves her feline sanctuary hidden away in the mortal realm. Myth and modernity entwine in this twilight of a new age, as the denizens of the immortal realms, once cloaked in the mystique of ancient glory, find themselves infused with the pulse of a contemporary existence, enabling a kaleidoscope of cultures and hues that is mythica.

  • In mythica, characters are beings of incredible might...

    Olympus City houses all of this power, all of these personas— and stands as a beacon of immortal evolution. While unending, save a few curious and long-forgotten ways, most beings who reside in Olympus City are impervious to permanent death.

    Some can go through the cycle of rebirth, but it is rare, instead once a God or immortal suffers enough damage (be it physical, emotional, or spiritual) will fall ill and eventually pass into a state known as the Great Sleep. Their bodies essentially wilt, their internal light diffusing to such a degree they resemble mortal.

    Below are a few quick facts about the most common beings that live in Olympus City:


    Gods and Goddesses

    To an extent, all Gods and Goddesses have the ability to manipulate existence within their perspective domains. Every single divine being has at least one domain - and domains DO overlap - to create political factions or fissures that potentially halt or expediate the growth on the mortal realm. Additionally, all divine beings are empowered by worship from the mortal realm - meaning "popular" gods and goddesses are typically stronger, have more domains, and generally fair better in Olympus City.

    All Gods & Goddesses have the following abilities:
    • Domain(s)
    • Divine Arts
      - Aura
      - Smite
      - Weapon (Or Accessory)
      - Flying
    • Divine Existence
    • Worship Empowerment

    Major Gods & Goddesses
    • Typically have 3-5 domains and matching abilities directly related to their domains. (ie. thunder/electricity n weather manip for Zeus).
    • Kings and Queens and perhaps Crowned Princess/es also have Divine Authority - which essentially allows them to veto negative situations or scenarios but has a significant chance to weaken them and increase their odds of falling into a Great Sleep.
    • Power Bestowal
    • Teleportation
    Minor Gods & Goddesses
    • Typically have 1-3 domains and matching abilities directly related to said domains. (ie. luck bestowal for the goddess tyche)
    • In addition, they can choose between the abilities to bestow others power (blessings, boons, and banes) or instant teleportation.


    Celestials

    For the sake of NPC creation, as most, if not all Celestials (ancient and divine personifications of natural phenomena) are hermits, either forced to live within their own domain or to tread the same steps every day for eternity, Celestials are meant to be sought after, not free roaming.

    They are often less humanoid than their Godly counterparts, though still retaining the ethereal beauty that makes them divine.

    • Unlike the Gods, Celestials have almost total control over their domains at the cost of being strictly limited to its domain. Likewise, while in their literal "physical" domain, an Ancient Celestial will always sense someone's presence and has almost full control of the time and spice within.


    Demi-Gods

    Demi-Gods do not have domains, but they do take their powers and abilities directly from their divine parentage. This varies with said divine parent, but on average they're stronger than Deified Humans but weaker than Minor Gods and have a limit on how much ambrosia they can handle before they become ill and Ichor Drunk.

    • While their powers are completely dependent upon their divine parentage, they typically have 2-5 "powers" that grow and develop with age.
    • Much, much stronger than their mortal counterparts. Demi-gods fulfill a strange function within Olympus City society, and if chiefly depends on whether or not their godly parent has "accepted" or "denied" their involvement. Many places of employ will outright refuse to service or employ "blacklisted" demi-gods!


    Deified Humans

    Much like demi-gods, Deified Humans are much, much stronger than their mortal counterparts but still lack in comparison to natural born deities. This is why they're ranked below demi-gods, typically, as that innate and wholesome divinity isn't something often overcome. It has happened before, though it's rare and only a few of the Celestials remaining remember the ways.

    • Deified Humans typically have 1 domain but it isn't unheard of them to have another. 3, outside of the rarest occasions, is the max, however as their soul cannot handle the excess.
    • Like demi-gods, their powers grow and develop over time, though it must be said the depth of their powers oft outshine the quantity of demi-gods.


    Nymphs, Fey, & Otherkin

    The most mortal of the immortals, nymphs, fey, and otherkin are all creatures who "eventually return" and are oft mistreated without a second thought because of this fact. Why trouble over a nymph when it'll return in a few moons, after her rose tree is prayed beneath? Within the past few generations activism has begun in favor of nymphs and their compatriots, but they still have a long way to go.

    • Typically have powers relating to their natural or spiritual tie to the mortal world. More often than not they're also skilled magic users and the lucky few artisans who know how to weave magic into stone and precious gems are offered life-changing contracts by CEOs and business magistrates in the Hub.
    • Some fey are mortal some are true - but due to True Feys having so much power they're regulated higher on the food chain.
    • Goblins, hobgoblins, and trolls are treated perhaps the worst, regulated to the Verdency or nighttime janitorial jobs in the Hub.
    • Most often employ the use of a familiar, whether by magical or spiritual means, to ease their daily burden or simply companionship.
  • Daily life in Olympus City...

    Manners and basic etiquette is important to Olympus City - this is the city of the gods after all - and crimes are either brushed off (petty theft) or made an example of (killing a significant portion of mortals worshipping another god without just cause) without mercy. In the basic day to day life, Olympus City runs like any other major city we see around us in the real world, if not a bit more advanced... Holographic technology is all the rage right now, but the word is VR is right around the corner and the biggest technophiles in O.C. are feigning for it to drop.

    There's also a normalcy for those who like a simpler life; travel away from the Hub by train or by car or perhaps one of the newly invented nymph brooms and you'll find a quieter pace of existence in the Verdency, with its rolling hills and pastures and the orchards and vineyards in the distance glowing against the horizon. The Quarters thrums along somewhere between the two, the suburbia of the gods, if you will - where students attend the finest academic institution in the immortal realms and PTA moms wage bake wars every third week of the month.

    Similarly to real life, Olympus City exists for those who reside within it. Those with immortal hungers, passion, and creativity to do the impossible.


    Social Caste

    • Royalty: A finite and privileged class; the Three Kings of Olympus and their Queens and direct descendants are considered royalty - though the lines blur significantly with one of the king's infidelity. In addition to the Kings and Queens of other Pantheons who've made their way to Olympus City.
    • Nobility: The nobility in Olympus City is a fickle institution, dating back a few millennia, to those gods and goddesses who aided the 12 Olympians in the Arkin Wars and the trinity of battles now known as the Titanomachy Campaigns. The gods and their descendants were rewarded for their bravery and with the promise of continued oaths, share a significant portion in stock and say over what and what does not happen in O.C.
    • Upper Class: While not noble, some of the upper class members of O.C. society could surely buy their way in - what with their abundance of cash flow and their several multi-billion-drachma businesses shooting up and down the skyline, painting a future of their success. Sometimes, the crown agrees - sometimes it does not.
    • Lower Class: Deified Humans, mortal fey, and nymphs who've crawled their way out of indentured servitude or were perhaps simply born in squalor - eyes towards the sky and the brilliant skyline. Or perhaps a disgraced god or goddesses, exiled from the sisterhood of maidens because you fell in love with another.
    • Indentured: Mortals with who've offended the gods and received punishment in luxury - but more often than not, nymphs, mortal fey, naiads, and goblins who managed to make it to the pinnacle of existence and realized it's a cruel, cruel world on top.
    • Hermits: Typically Ancient Celestials, rarely seen gracing Olympus City, instead they're sought after for ancient niche knowledge or perhaps bargained with for a forbidden favor. Djinn and Deified Humans who don't immediately integrate into O.C. will often be labeled Hermits as well.

    The Sleeping Ancients
    Completely omniscient beings, creators of their universes, ancient and unknowable. In mythica these beings are unplayable, and for good reason, for if the Sleeping Ancients wake, life as the Gods know it will cease to exist.

    The Court of Kings and Queens
    Gods and Goddesses who claim sovereignty over immortal realms and other Gods themselves. Zeus. Odin. Ra. These beings rule over the separate immortal realms with their own laws and quality of life, but Olympus City is oft claimed to be Zeus' domain.

    The Ancient Celestials
    Archangels and personifications of natural phenomena, the Celestials are few and far between and due to their station in life, are rarely capable of straying beyond their divine realms. Players are recommended to only create Celestials as NPCs or submit a Destination form of their Celestials divine realm.

    The Major and Minor Gods
    The majority of characters will be Gods, major or minor, who make up the different pantheons. These beings are tremendous in power and draw said power from the worship of humans in the mortal realm.

    Djinn
    If humans are made of earth, and Gods are beings made of starlight and cosmic matter, then the djinn are beings of smoke and flame; the breath of nature. Some serve the Gods, some roam the mortal realm, and others are in cahoots with the Gentry of Fiends.

    Demi-Gods
    Half mortal and half divine, demi-gods are as numerous and plenty as the gods, though they vary in ability and power. Their role in the life of the Gods depends on their divine parentage and where they hail in the immortal realms.

    Deified Humans
    Sometimes mortal are granted the ultimate form of rebirth; that of a God. A being of immense power and will, of purpose and starlight. Deified Humans are not as powerful as other Gods at a baseline, but there've been instances, such as Lilith, where they grow stronger with age and worship.

    The Gentry of Fiends and Seraphs
    Angels and Devils and Demons abound are within this classification. Every millennia or so the Gentry changes its own internal hierarchy, depending on their whims and the fears and hopes upon the mortal realm.

    Olympus City is the bustling metropolis of the gods, alight with magic and technology and immortal passions that last centuries. The gods oft do as they please, as long as their mortal duties are attended— though those not widely worshipped must make a living one way or another to survive the chaos and maelstrom of Olympus.

    To that front, it is known that anything can be found here. When you live for millennia, passions run deep, be it gambling, sex, or proliferation, for the right price, anything and anyone can be found here. Drachma, cred, and the right connections definitely get you a leg up.

    Though Olympus City sprawls like a great slumbering beast upon the Infinite Coast, it is not the only place the gods have to traverse. The immortal realms (the heavens (Olympus City is here), the seas, and the underworld) all have secret entrances scattered throughout the city.


    The Quarters is overrun by sprawling estates, mansions twice as large as the next, and lavish condos that overlook the Infinite Coast. While primarily the residential district of Olympus City, there's a lot to do here, especially ones of the lavish, luxurious, and expensive variety.

    Verdency is as quiet as life in Olympus City gets. It's a haven for the small folk, those inclined to nature, spirits, and growth of all kind. While the city boasts a lavish technophile existence, those in the Verdency still focus on hard labor intertwined with godly boons and ancient magical techniques to produce superb quality, if at a sacrifice of quantity.

    The Trade Hub is Olympus City's bustling pride and joy. The palace is located here, not too far from the train depot, which has railway lines to and from the Underworld and Oceanus, so those who don't live in O.C. can still travel daily to work. The depot closes at 10pm sharp, however, as portal reconstructors sleep for the night. So be timely or find yourself stuck wherever you may be...

    Note: Due to this being a sandbox roleplay, with bimonthly events to keep the IC fresh and active outside of personal plots and scenarios, players are permitted up to 15 characters each. Choose your sweet spot in terms of characters - for me, it's about 3 revolving "main characters" with a few dedicated NPCs to keep things fresh. You're more than welcome to create a plethora of NPCs that only you can use or ones that anyone can use - think a bank teller at Drachma Bank or a waitress at the local bar and grill. These characters may not get the brunt of social activity in terms of RP, but they are unlimited. >:)

RP MECHANICS

It's important to note that mythica. is a sandbox roleplay.

It thrives with player created plots and relationships that form and break and reform again - rivalries and political maneuvering that elevate and demote. Mythica is primarily a setting, though every three months, in addition to the opening post, there'll be an "Event Post" which give opening threads and plot hooks that span Olympus City, the rest of the immortal realms, and perhaps even the mortal realm.

Multiple characters are allowed and encouraged, in addition to the creation of NPC's.

Three posts per Event cycle is the absolute minimum, but more is preferred! I recommend 2-3 paragraphs per post, but I understand not every post needs to be that long (nor can you capture a scene in so little sometimes), but as long as you're giving something to reply to, I don't mind.

I also prefer quality over quantity!

While the "player survey" at the end of the character sheet is optional, please do list your posting expectations in your character sheet. It is a bulletin board for your fellow players - an honest interpretation to let others know your limits. For example, mine would look like...

    3-5 character responses per month - sometimes less sometimes more. Life happens, just know I'll be squealing in the discord server/dm's if you give me the opportunity. I've come to like jump in "concepts" - be they relationship, background hooks, or just a whimsy idea that I cooked up before bed.

The thunderous voice was disembodied and shook the worn pavers beneath one's feet. After a moment, a puff of smoke revealed Professor Crom backdropped by the mighty doors of the Ashen Crypts. The disappointed grimace soon dissipated and Crom gave everyone a familiar greeting before beckoning them all forward and to attention.

The first thing he did was hand out breakfast. MacDeath was greasy, true, but the sausage paired nicely with melted cheese and the soft fluffy biscuit they were smushed between. He also handed out a ration bar to everyone, though he motioned for them to pack it away.

"That'll replenish stamina and boost healing. You'll have to use it sparingly, since it tastes butt-awful and too much too quickly will cause you to crash afterwards."

Crom took another bite of his MacDeath breakfast sandwich and spoke with a sleepy drawl, "I've been up all night scouting the beast that may have opened the crypt, so try not to need my help." He cleared his throat. "For a few hours at least."

From one of his cargo pockets he retrieved a thin sheet of plastic material that he began to unroll. While doing so, he thumbed over his shoulder, to the weathered mausoleum and the deep gashes across the front doors. "The Ashen Crypts, obviously,"

"The crypt was sealed shut more than a century ago. No one's been in or out— or so we thought —until recently. For the past two weeks, Lady Death has registered more than fifteen unusually high madness spikes generating from this location. The goal then, is to investigate the situation and report back." Crom halted his hammock construction to look up, dead serious, "This may be an exam, but don't bite off more than you can chew."

"Oh and two more things: The gashes on the door have locked 'em together and you'll want to be done before the moon rises, as the mummies get stronger during the witching hour."

Then he jumped in the hammock and pulled the bandages he wore over his one and only good eye. Within moments, Professor Crom was fast asleep.

You've gathered at the locale and been given an objective. This is both a timed exam and a remedial lesson for each of you, though the faults your characters are overcoming or the mettle being tested is up to you to decide. Logistical characters would note this many meisters and death weapons would signify something bad is waiting down there. Practical minded folk would notice the complimentary pairing in demon types, albeit all a bit strange. Intuitive characters would note this is the first of many tests to ensure Lady Death is not sending your characters to an instant demise.

No Lady Death texts this time around— it seems a bit early. Let's dive deeper first.

PROFESSOR CROM
Crom is DWMA's Demon Sword Master— capable of wielding any bladed demon weapon with master proficiency and deadly accuracy. In that sense, he's also a utility trainer, always available to spend extra hours with meisters and demon weapons alike to better hone their power and soul wavelengths. He teaches no set class or curriculum, as he's oft busy running errands for Lady Death. He's in his late 30's and his one eye is gold.

EXAM OBJECTIVE
Descend into the Ashen Crypts and investigate the resonating madness spikes Lady Death has been monitoring for the past few weeks. Important to note that Professor Crom lets slip that the Ashen Crypts, which was previously thought to be sealed shut, was clawed open.

Additionally, as part of the exam students should:
  • Retrieve 39 humans souls
  • Collect 100 mummy seals
  • Find 5 gold coins EACH for the Deathlight Festival next week

  • The Silvern Kingdom lies in the center of northern Ellemar, surrounded by great powers on either side. It is a sprawling dominance, traversing steep mountain ranges, undulating valleys and serpentine rivers. Townsfolk find work in the many silver mines and quarries, in wild woods felling hardwood trees, or sailing down the intertwined rivers fishing or selling goods to merchants and travelers.

    Ancient wild woods are sprinkled throughout the Silvern Kingdom, but it's greatest natural treasures are the geothermal hot springs scattered here and there throughout the dominance. It's palace, Silvernest, was built around and on top of one of these pools centuries ago and due to the numerous waterfalls and academic knowledge, enjoy certain technological advances akin to indoor plumbing and aqueducts.

    Silvernest is perched and built into the holy mountain Tasair and it's capitol city, Silvara, is directly below the ancient castle. The center of Silvara is protected by a crescent-moon shaped body of water known as Glass Lake and the outer cantons spread across leagues in every direction.

    Lords and Ladies loyal to the Northern Throne rule over cantons all across the dominance by His Majesties decree. In addition to these outlying villages and towns, The Convent has erected Monasteries across the countryside where Druen's are able to live, train, and fulfill their Oaths of Faithood.
  • The Silvosi are hardworking, family oriented people, regardless of social class. They pride themselves in being honorable, tolerant, fierce warriors and hunters, and gods-fearing people.

    Local diet consists of river fish, mountain game and root vegetables. What crops can be grown in the mountainous region of Silvern are, but rarely relied upon by the masses. The kingdom is becoming consistently more reliant on trade to feed the growing kingdom. The mercantile and noble class treat themselves from cuisine from (ALLIED KINGDOMS), especially during the Zenith Festival which takes place during Silvern's brief spring.

    Once a year, Silvara opens her gates and allows passage into the heart of the kingdom. It's a Holy Day, Shishara, where people fast until the light fades and then feast and dance until dawn. The following morning, followers of the Faithood flock to the nearest Sept where the Prui`Druen and Druen's across the kingdom, lead a prayer blessing the coming year.

  • Silvern is an ancient kingdom, spanning back hundreds of centuries. For the most part, they've managed to be self sufficient and neutral through many wars due in part to their isolationist ideals. The Northern Throne was forged for the First King of Silvern; the Great Uniter of the North. With help of the scattered tribes, The Great Uniter was able to overthrow the Sachem Yakir. A brutal amber skinned foreigner who raided the tribes every summer and took men and women as slaves. Throughout the Age of the First King the construction of Silvernest began, as did the first wisps of the now great Silvara.

    The Green Plague took hold of the kingdom two centuries after it's inception. The loss of half it's population shook the very foundation of Silvern. The Faithood was integrated into the kingdom's rule itself shortly thereafter and were given the means to protect the masses against afflictions, thus the Seven Sacred Arts began.

    Before the Dragu line, a Usurper King tried to dismantle the kingdom's reliance on the Faithood and executed any who refused to swear fealty to his new rule, including women and children. When the nobility and commoners refused to let go of the Faithood, the Usurper King had the Prui`Druen assassinated and it cost him his life and his heir as the people, both rich and poor, rose against him. Rebellions against cruel Kings and Queens are common throughout Silvern's long-standing history and goes to show the people have no qualms rising against a tyrant on the Northern Throne.

    Nearly a century ago Queen Sylvia Dragu, beloved by the kingdom, disappeared in the dead of the night. As a princess the woman often had hunting soirees in the wild woods near and far the palace. According to rumor, the Queen met a foreigner of Raider blood and fell in love. They say every month she held a hunting soiree so she could see her foreign lover, even after she was betrothed to Deshan. Three years after her coronation and the marriage to Deshan, she disappeared and the kingdom erupted. Though still regarded as wives tale, the Draga people proudly consider themselves people of Silvern by their ancestry of Queen Sylvia Dragu.

    Despite their proficiency in metallurgy, Silvosi grew to power and held it due to their master stone masonry. Their fortresses and keeps strong and elaborately carved, hard to penetrate and traverse. Through the years this profession has led way to the numerous guilds that call Silvern home, though the most renowned is the ancient Stonemason Guild.

    Prince Lucien the Second, former heir to the Northern Throne, brother to the current King Avenius, died tragically while visiting and congratulating the workers of a prolific silver mine. The shaft that collapsed and killed the Crown Prince and several miners was permanently caved in out of respect after the bodies were retrieved and laid to rest. Avenius' father lived long enough through his grief to see his youngest son become the man he always knew he could be.
  • There are three tiers to the Silvosi military: The Kingsguard, The King's Army, and the Silver Garrison. Enlistment is voluntary as it is life long, sans the Silver Garrison, which works under a contract system. Average in size but makes up for this fact in austere training. The military is opportunistic and open to noblemen and commoners alike. The Silvosi military has it's own set of Oaths that must be taken and witnessed at one of the seven Silver Septs across the kingdom. To break Oaths is to defy the gods, forfeit any rights, and spells imprisonment or death.

    The Kingsguard is always exactly seven members strong. It is an Order founded by a nameless Prui`Druen from ancient times to protect the King and his family and the capital as a whole. The Lord Commander, oft the oldest and wisest of the seven is directly in charge of the Order and the King or Queen themselves. He will delegate duties to the other six and promote or demote dependent upon their actions. Members of the Kingsguard are always chosen from the King's Army.

    The King's Army is separated into three factions: the Cavalry, Infantry, and the River Rats. Fully trained members of the King's Army are slowly declining and they oft wonder if they should follow the Silver Garrison's suit and abolish the lifelong enlistments.

    The Silver Garrison is a relatively new branch of the military, having been created by both noblemen and commoners during Queen Sylvia's Departure. Enraged that their beloved Queen vanished in the dead of the night and her husband took no action to find her, volunteers took to the mountains and the wild woods, working together as one to find her. The founders - the few men and women who took to searching - founded the Silver Garrison with consent from the new King - King Gorwen Gringoire. The Silver Garrison is a long but squat fortress, located along the opposite shore of Glass Lake, enabling itself to be the first line of defense for Silvara. Most of it's members are commoners and despite outnumbering the King's Army, they are poorly trained and rely on half-mastered guerrilla style warfare.
  • Silvern has brief springs, rainy summers, golden autumns and frosty, lingering winters.

    Ethnic:

    i. Silva - Said to be pure blooded northerners. Fair skinned with either matching fair hair or strikingly contrasting colored. Tall and thin in stature with light eyes of grey or blue.

    ii. Sigge - The majority of the denizens in Silvern are Sigge; light of skin, average in height and stocky - good for the hard work they endure.

    iii. Sivva - A spawn of Silvosi that dawned from Queen Sylvia's Departure nearly a century ago. Amber-skinned with swarthy colored hair and eyes of hazel, green, and brown. Said to have blood that craves chaos; the Forest Raiders of the North, foreigners to Ellemar.
  • Denizens wonder why King Avenius has yet to marry off Princess Lucianna to (A KINGDOM), despite the brewing political tension. Rumors fly rampant and the the kingdom is divided as to whether or not their beloved Princess even should.

    According to rumors, the current Rue`Druen is spreading falsehoods across the Seven Septs, intending to spur the commoners into action. Action against the throne. Falsehoods include talk of a Druenite controlled kingdom, where the clergy would rule and all men would be of equal class, of assassination attempts against the King and Queen. However nothing substantial has tried the Kingsguard and bodily proof is hard to come by.

    The Draga Raiders have kidnapped Prince Lucien. After three attacks on three separate villages, Prince Lucien and a squadron of men rode out to defend their people. They fought bravely and indeed, even won the battle; but in the dead of the night the Draga Raiders infiltrated their camp and kidnapped the Prince and two of his men. They are keeping them alive, but to what end is unknown and they continue their raids. King Avenius has sent emissary after emissary, but the False Prince incessantly sends them back, requesting another who is "more competent" before dealings can begin.

    After the mysterious death of the Crown Prince's betrothed, a princess of (A KINGDOM), he is once again searching for a bride. The nobles of Silvara are growing impatient to see their future King Bonded by Oath.
  • Silvern is ruled by a King or Queen, advised by the Prui`Druen and a council made up of nobles, merchants, and select denizens of common blood.

    The Prui`Druen's responsibilities work similarly to that of the King's Hand but with the added weight of being the figurehead of the Faithood.

    If the King or Queen were to perish, the Northern Throne would pass to the oldest living heir, regardless of gender. There are stipulations to heiresses and heirs that are too young to rule; by law, the heiress has three years to marry or else her right to rule is up to contestation and with an heir too young to rule, the Queen Regent and the Prui`Druen will simultaneously rule until he is of age.

    King Avenius and Queeen Clariscia Gringoire have ruled for thirty three years uncontested. During their rule they have brought peace and stability to their region and their people have a great love for the Gringoire line.

    The current Prui`Druen and Rue`Druen have a rocky but professional relationship. For seventeen years they have ruled the Convent and aided Silvern with not only prayers but the six sacred arts.




The Silvern Kingdom is ruled by the current King and advised by the Prui`Druen, who acts similarly to the Hand of the King. Whenever a King dies, the throne will pass to the next living heir, which is almost always a male. The exceptions of course, is a king with only heiresses, or if the heir is too young to rightfully rule. In which case, the Queen Regent and the Prui`Druen will simultaneously rule until the heir comes of age or until the heiress is married.

The Silvosi are hardworking people, and have wide and varied professions. Mining and metallurgy, hunting and fishing, and trading (of silver) are the most common.

Their diet mostly consists of river fish and mountain game. What crops can be grown in the mountainous region of Silvern are, but are rarely relied upon by the masses. The Silvosi denizens are often found selling and trading their renowned spirits.

Once a year, Silvernest opens it's gates and allows passage into the heart of the kingdom. It's a holy day, one where people fast until the light fades and then feast and dance until dawn. The following morning denizens will flock to the nearest Sept where the Prui`Druen will lead a prayer blessing the coming year.

Weddings are performed by the Prui`Druen (lowborn weddings are usually conducted by a Druen) wherein a braided tassel of blue and grey is wrapped around and clasped in the hands of the betrothed. The two intended whisper seven Oaths to each other and then the Prui`Druen prays over their joined hands and announces them Bonded by Oath (married).



Unlike most of Ellemar, the Silvosi are not monotheistic. To most they seem like pagans - worshipping multifarious gods and believing in strange things, yet this Silvosi tradition dates back to ancient times and has served them well. They believe in the spirit of the world, in the flora and fauna, and everything inbetween. They pray to their gods in seven Silver Septs throughout the kingdom. The largest and grandest of them all lies in the heart of Silvernest.

The Prui`Druen, essentially a High Priest or Priestess, acts as the Head of the religion and as such, is in charge of the kingdom's religious duties. Every Prui`Druen has a Rue`Druen of the opposite sex, and acts as their advisor, assistant, and second in command. If a Prui`Druen were to die unexpectedly, the Rue`Druen will lead for the Prui`s obligatory year-long mourning period, and then step down when the next Prui`Druen and Rue`Druen are selected.

Former Rue`Druen's make up most of the seven Convent members, who not only choose each Prui`Druen and Rue`Druen - but act as a secondary council for the current king as well. Each member is in charge of one of the seven Septs, and reports to the Prui`Druen in person every four months.

Druen's are clergy members that specialize in one of the six sacred arts: poetry, art, music, war, academia, and dance. There was once a seventh - magic - but the Druen's lost their magic in ancient times and now only spread stories and myths of what they lost and have forgotten. Druen's usually live within the Silver Septs, but some small monasteries have been built across the countryside where Druen's go to live, train and fulfill their Oaths. Druen's as a whole stand as mediators between the mundane and divine aspects of life. They're holy people through sacrifice and training, and are regarded highly throughout the Silvern kingdom.




Mostly moist and cool year round; Silvern has brief springs, succinct wet summer's, lackluster autumns, and lingering frosty winters. The kingdom itself sprawls across the foothills and highlands of the western Seven Mountains. The Silvernest Castle is built on Mount Tasiar, overlooking a large lake.

Avenius' hair lost it's auburn color early in life and now even his beard is salt and pepper. Standing just under six feet, physically, Avenius is nothing more than your average man. His body has softened with age but he still emanates a regal aura.[/justify]

BRIEF HISTORY: Born second after his older brother, Avenius grew up shrinking his princely duties as he never thought he would rule. He prefered ale, hunting trips, women, and combat training over academic and political learnings. That all changed when his older brother, the crown prince, died suddenly and tragically while visiting a prolific silver mine. The kingdom and the royal family mourned, and Avenius - devastated at the loss of his older brother - shouldered the weight of his responsibilities like a true king.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Though her beauty has gradually faded with age, Clariscia still carries herself with grace and elegance befitting a queen. Her hair is dark, slightly peppered with grey, and falls in waves halfway down her back. Her high cheekbones rarely betray her laugh lines and aging wrinkles. When she smiles she has small dimples in each cheek. She is almost as tall as her husband, just shy a few inches.

BRIEF HISTORY: Clariscia was born as a noble lady of Silvern and was betrothed to Prince Avenius before birth. He was not the heir being second born, and for that Claris was thankful. She had no wish to be Queen, only a romanticised dream of life, love, and children. Life had it's own plans however, and she ended up Queen of Silvern as her betrothed became King. Though they weren't in love at the time of their marriage, Clariscia has come to truly love her husband. It took a long time, not until their second child for her to realize.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Tall, dark, and handsome, Rannulf is the perfect blend of his mother and father. He received his mother's sharp, striking features, and his father's blue eyes. Rannulf's however, are more grey than blue and are sharply contrasted by his dark auburn brown hair. Speaking of which, is traditionally long and almost the length of his sisters. He prefers to wear leathers over luxurious clothing, but does so without complaint during official or ceremonial duties.

BRIEF HISTORY: Being the crown prince and his father's son, Rannulf has regarded his responsibilities dutifully despite being quite the ladies man. Since his conception, his been betrothed to (A PRINCESS) of (A KINGDOM). Training started early in life and continues till this day. He enjoys all manners of his training and has rarely complained. His mind is like a sponge and he enjoys the pursuit of knowledge. He has a close relationship with his younger siblings, even Joscelin, and it was he who convinced Beyla (and will convince Luce) to become Druen.

She has her mother's dark brown hair and to the dismay of her handmaidens, loves to get it dirty.

BRIEF HISTORY: For as long as she can remember, Beyla has wanted to become the next Prui`Druen. Everything in her life seems to have brought her to this revelation, and in a few months time - after her next name day - she will take her Oaths to become Druen. It seems she talked her sister into becoming Druen as well, even though neither have officially taken their Oaths. As the youngest Gringoire there is some obvious favoritism, especially from her mother and Luce.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Joscelin's dark blonde hair is ever so noticeable, and something that she's always wanted to change. Unlike her half-siblings strikingly sharp faces, Joscelin's facial features are rounded and soft, much like her temperament. Instead of pale blue-grey her eyes are deep blue-green and framed with lashes of gold. Despite being three years older, Josce and Beyla are the same height save a few inches. The gods have bestowed her with curves unbefitting a young woman, and Joscelin looks much older than her true age.

BRIEF HISTORY: Despite being born outside of her father's marriage with Queen Clariscia, Joscelin was raised with love. Her mother, a noble lady within the kingdom, died giving birth to her, and the King hesitantly took her in. Surprisingly, the Queen took pity on the child, and tried to raise her as if she were her own. Though she was bitter, she was bitter towards her husband, not the child. Unbeknownst to her, the Queen had suffered through a miscarriage just months prior and felt somewhat joyful at the news of a child she could raise. King Avenius is speaking with (A KINGDOM) to betroth Joscelin to prince (A NAME).

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Melissent is tall, elegant, and fierce; exactly as a Prui`Druen should be. Though her hair greyed early in life, mainly due to the stresses of her station, Melissent is beautiful. Silver-grey eyes match her stormy grey hair and stand stark against her rose-peach skin color. Hidden beneath her dull grey robes is a body still in it's prime.

BRIEF HISTORY: Melissent is the daughter of the previous Prui`Druen and knew as a child that that was her Calling in life as well. She took her Oaths young in life, barely thirteen - which is the legal age to take vows - and has lived the Druen way of life since. Her mother died when Lis was twenty seven, and the Rue`Druen took over until the next Prui`Druen was selected. Traditionally there's a mourning period of one year and then the Convent and the people choose the next leader. Melissent became the youngest female Prui`Druen at the age of twenty-eight and has led successfully these past twelve years.

THE HIGH ELEMENTS
The High Elements are the strongest forms of magic within RoNaan's Realm and are often the most uncontrollable. It is said the uncontrollable nature is due in part to it being the purest connection to the chaotic energy that binds the universe together. Because of this, most of the MACOMA schools are for these elements. Two of the four doorways are within this tier (alchemy and transmutation) and is harnessed by those who're attuned to doorway elements. The High Elements are extremely powerful and rarely is it seen for one to be attuned to more than one High Element.

DIVINATION
Inherent Ability: The ability to interpret the future.

Divination is oft misunderstood to be the end-all-be-all of soothsaying. The truth is much different. As futures change with the choices we make, there is no set future for one's eventual fate. There is, however, the ability to see what will happen and what must happen in one's lifeline. People seem to confuse fate and future, and for RoNaan's Realm, I will clarify the difference between the two: the future is what can happen, your fate is what must. Those with this ability are able to not only differentiate between the two, but can search an individual's lifeline and interpret what may happen. Many with this ability are respected and feared, once proven legitimate, and are given some kind of status regardless of almost every cultural differences throughout the Three Known Lands.
TRANSMUTATION
Inherent Ability: The ability to alter/transform inanimate objects.

Transmutation is one of the Doorways and used more often than not, in "mundane" ways and alongside its sibling Doorway, alchemy. The alteration/transformation of objects can be temporary or permanent and depending on which, takes more energy and application. There are many Mutationists that work in factories, in fact, the majority of RoNaan's Realm "middle class" is centered on this caste of magic. They're the backbone of the industrial-like factories that produce a lengthy variety of goods. Mutationists are incredibly useful for doing such work, because in essence, their magic works like the phrase: 'one man's garbage is another man's treasure.' As long as the material is roughly the same for what is needed to be able to transform, the alteration will stick and last for a certain amount of time.
ILLUSIONISM
Inherent Ability: The ability to create, shape, and manipulate illusions.

The ability to fool the mind, Illusionism is one of the most potent abilities the tetrad has to offer. Not only must the caster be of solid mind and strong of will, but theirs must overpower those they wish to cast illusions on. This ability is powerful and is known to be easy to lose control of. If Illusionist aren't cautious or know entirely what they're doing, they can fall into one of their own illusions, fed by the fears of its caster. They live in a vegetative state until finally their mind can take no more and they suffer the consequences.
ENCHANTMENT
Inherent Ability: The ability to enchant beings and objects.

With enchantment, unlike transmutation, those attuned to this element are capable of altering living, breathing beings along with nonentities. The main difference between them, besides the obvious, is that enchantments were not made to last, and those that do, are paid in blood and sacrifice. Those attuned to this element are known for their glamours and body alterations, but are also highly sought after for charms, hexes, and jinxes. Small objects of multitude shapes and shapes that are "programmed" for some effect or the other.
ALCHEMY
Inherent Ability: There is no known inherent ability other than that of extreme intelligence.

Alchemy is a rare attunement and one that while sought after, is oft done clandestinely. The largest concentration of alchemists is that of the Peygawi elves, and Kingsport has no shame in their esoteric connection to them. It is still unknown why there is no inherent ability for alchemists, though being incredibly intelligent seems to make up for the lack of one.

ABILITIES –

Golems: Alchemists are able to create golems out of natural materials. Golems are conscious (if to a point) creations that are oft used as slaves or spies. They feel nothing, think nothing but of what they were created to do, and abide all orders without complaint. They vary in size and appearance, due in part to why they were created.

Imbue: Alchemists are able to create magical items that straddle the line of science and magic. Almost anything can be imbued – except things that live and breathe and eat. Most mechanical parts that are created nowadays are imbued, and Kingsport, by way of the Peygawi elves, is the biggest supplier of said parts.
ANIMANCY
Inherent Ability: The ability to animate non-living things.

Animancy is a powerful ability, one that goes hand in hand with its opposite attunement. Animancy and Necromancy, though always separated, work together in a unique and powerful way that when used together, brings about potent and otherworldly outcomes. Everyone attuned to Animancy are capable of seeing souls and their connection to the tetrad. Animancers are often spiritual creatures who seek solitude as they are bombarded with the noise of the living energy within everyone and everything. Master animancers are known to be able to harness this energy and either stop it's flow or "heal" them by restoring/replenishing what isn't there. Animancers are able to animate, essentially give "life" to an inanimate object or substance to do their bidding. Animancers do not resurrect albeit they're capable of animating a body that has died. The difference lies in the fact that the soul has already passed on to the Staarsgarden.
NECROMANCY
Inherent Ability: The ability to connect to deceased spirits.

Necromancy, in its simplest form, is the ability to cross the Divide. Though they cannot stay for long, Necros are capable of transporting their incorporeal form to the Staarsgarden where they're capable of transcending the Divide and coming back with otherworldly secrets. If they stay for too long, the Staarsgarden with forcibly remove them. This is known to cause death as the shock to the body during its return is incredible. Necros are capable of seeing when a person's lifeline ends, though it is considered taboo to speak of it. When Animancers and Necromancers work together, they are capable of resurrecting a person's soul for a limited amount of time. Usually this takes place after someone was murdered, to relay information, but it has been known for the two to come together and perform the Ritual for someone who's been dead hundreds of years. As such, their body is unusable and a newer body, one recently deceased is needed.

APPEARANCE: Tall and lean, Lena stands just over 5'9" and hovers around a hundred-thirty to hundred-forty pounds. She can be slightly intimidating, especially with her no nonsense facade, but there's much and more hiding behind it. Her hair is black in color and falls past her waist. Rarely does she cut it, seeing as both she and her mother love it long, and is often seen wearing it up in rigid ponytails or plaits. She has her mother's sea-green eyes, sprinkled with silver, though they have just a smidgen more of blue.

PERSONALITY: A woman of intellectual and physical grace, Yelena was raised in a loving, but rigid household of perfectionists. Over the years it has become ingrained in her psyche to not only do the best -- but to be the best. Because of this, Lena has a tendency to be hard on herself, though it rarely shows outside of closed doors. While not introverted, Lena prefers the company of a few close friends over the cacophonous crowds of acquaintances. Despite this, Lena has crafted a "professional persona" that she oft slips into while preforming her duties. When behind closed doors or around those she feels comfortable with, Yelena is capable of stepping out from behind her walls. While "letting loose" is not quite her style, there is a softer, less rigid side to her. Compassionate, loyal, and mildly humorous, there is a whole other side to Yelena just waiting to be explored.

HISTORY: Born to a Serbian refugee and an American scientist, Yelena was born in the eye of scrutiny and was raised as such. For the first four years of her life, she lived just outside the remnants of the once beautiful Washington D.C., unaware of the backlash her family was receiving. Life was bliss, even in the drug infested lands, until her fifth birthday.

Her father, the Serbia refugee, fled to America in search of a better life. And found one he did -- a loving wife that gave him a loving child -- but the discrimination he faced refused to leave him. But with being a Null, he hadn't expected that much to change. His wife, a scientist working at a small ARMA Chapter in the United States however, hadn't expected the backlash she'd receive for falling in love with a Halfling. A special one, in her humble opinion, at that. Before Lena's third birthday she had convinced him to join the Chapter and with his own academic studies in genetics, he was hired quickly. Two short years after that, both he and his wife were summoned to Helios, to continue their studies abroad where funding for their research was more readily available.

Settling was difficult for the entire family. While the discrimination wasn't as harsh in New Japan, it still lived. This was also the first time Yelena had experienced such encounters, though at the time, she didn't know she was the daughter of a third generation Halfling. Fast forward a few years and life slowly became easier for the family. It was an entire new world... but with their research slowly turning into developments, the new world was opening up to them. By the time she turned thirteen she and her family lived in one of the safest neighborhoods in Helios and it was her time to attend the university.

Her time at the University was a blend of honor and horror. She drug her nose through each and every book placed in front of her, both eager to learn and afraid to fail. When it came to more physical aspects of her education, Yelena preformed as she always did: at her best. It was hard, year after year, but it was also rewarding. To her, and to her parents, who had sacrificed much for them all to be safe and most of all, together. When it came time for graduation, Lena accepted with a hesitant heart. She didn't believe in the full eradication of Witches, but she did believe in protecting the citizens of the world from their tyranny. Though she was offered positions in three branches, she chose to follow her parents into the Anchor Branch. This lasted for a two short years before she grew tired of the repetitiveness. Speaking with her parents and superiors, she asked to be transferred to the Cross Branch. Her wishes were granted and now, a little over six years later, she's hoping to continue her success and become a Warden like the Black Feather.

REGALIA: [A-Rated] "The Spear of the Sea" | Trident
The Sea-Spear was forged from the blood, kidneys, and bladder of a powerful water manipulating Witch. There is a design upon the surface, similar to that of Damascus steel, though it seemingly swirls with the colors black, blue, and silver. It's long, thin, and nigh unbreakable. Yelena brings her Regalia in yearly to make sure there are no imperfections and to receive any, if applicable, upgrades.

TALENTS:
  • Outside of ARMA's curriculum, Yelena has a few hidden talents, one being her love for the harmonica.
  • She's taken to tai chi over the past four years to settle and regulate the wild emotions that come along with her duties.
  • Linguistics; there's something musical about languages and this calls to Lena. She's fluent in English,
    Nihongo, Deutsch, and East Slavic. She's been teaching herself how to read and write in Latin.

TRIVIA:
  • It's often believed her epithet was given to her mockingly; because she is, technically, a descendant of a Witch.
  • Because both parents work for ARMA and her marks qualified her, Yelena was able to join Halflight's ARMA University at thirteen.
  • She graduated shortly after her nineteenth birthday, culminating in just over six years at the University.
  • Though not something she'll ever admit, Lena can hold a grudge for years and is quite easily offended, though outwardly it rarely shows. She'll just passive aggressively hate you to death.
