Think I'm done. Let me know if you guys have any feedback and I'l hear from you on pick day. Good luck!

So...why do so many people only have 3 Abilities? I thought the max was 4? Or is it all intentional?

  • Thank You
Reactions: SteelMoon
Oh crap! Thanks for the reminder! I could have sworn I wrote my fourth one up! Thanks @ERode

I dunno about everyone else who has three, but I just couldn't think up a fourth.. heh. The first three just popped into my head as I was thinking about the character, and while I could rack my brain for another one, I don't really think Sen needs much else so why add another, y'know?

I've done just about all the editing I'm good for, so think I'm done too. Like SteelMoon said, good luck everybody!

Name: Runa Yggdrasil
Age: 16 (apparently, may actually be younger)
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Runa is a teenage girl, standing about average in height and with a lean, athletic build. She has dark skin, and hair that is a dark red, almost as if it's trying very hard to be black or brown, but can't quite manage, particularly when the light catches it. Her eyes are almost reptilian, with golden irises and slitted pupils. While she is asleep or otherwise unconscious, one can occasionally see bones and muscles move beneath her skin in unusual manners. Her hair sometimes moves on its own, particularly the long ahoge, which seems to move around involuntarily in response to her emotional state.

The tentacles and tendrils of flesh she usually creates tend to be a pale pink rather than sharing any of her usual pigmentation. She also often extends any additional limbs from her back, or from her hair, which tends to function as a prehensile limb as-is, often enough. Her armored form, which she often prefers in heavy combat although it likely isn't really much tougher than she otherwise is, tends to look similar to a knight's armor, if it were constructed of flesh and bone, rather than segmented metal. Usually, her living armor is white and red in color.

Personality:
Runa grew up in a lab, and as a result is fairly naive and childlike. She simply doesn't understand too much about how the real world works, and definitely doesn't understand that everyday citizens may find her abilities disturbing. To her, growing a tentacle or two if you need an extra set of hands, or walking around covered in blood from what would appear to be grievous wounds are perfectly acceptable behaviors. She's curious about things she doesn't understand, and has a sort of youthful bravado when it comes to the same, often at least pretending she knows what others are talking about. She is friendly, energetic, and outgoing, and feels that it's her responsibility to help and protect others. She insists she's an adult, and tries to do adult-like things. It's pretty easy to bribe or distract her with food, particularly sweets.

Biography:
Runa is the result of a black project to create an ultimate living weapon, using advanced biological engineering applications. A number of old, (and possibly now rare) samples of alien genetic material left over from the Alien Wars were used to create her, and are likely responsible for most of her abilities. Her creator is something of a mad scientist who, in the aftermath of the recent events, believes that humanity must adapt itself and take control of its own biological destiny, as a species. While his transhuman intentions are, in a way, good, they are extreme enough to make him a threat. The F5 eventually had to take him down, only to discover his rather innocent creation. They've kept an eye on her ever since, and while her residence has moved, she's still been rather sheltered.

Runa eventually begged her way into active duty, and her abilities have rapidly evolved in response to the pressures of combat. She's fairly handy in a fight, even if she's...not as useful elsewhere. She seems to naturally draw in and expend the supernatural "aether" that continues to leak up from below, and which also powers most of her (and other creatures') monstrous abilities. She also emits some sort of radiation to which Abyssals and her other inhuman relatives are sensitive, which often will draw them towards her, and thus, to Shanhu. While she can be a useful member of the team, it goes without saying that her overtly inhuman nature is likely to make others uneasy, particularly if they have bad memories from the past upheavals.

Stats:
Might - 6
Finesse - 4
Fortitude - 5
Health - 5
Speed - 6
Perception - 4
Arcane - 4
Spirit - 4
Heroism - 3

Abilities:
Shapeshifting horror - Runa isn't human. She's...altogether something else. She can look human enough, if she wants to, but it doesn't change that she's mostly composed of some sort of resilient, easily altered proto-flesh. If you've ever seen The Thing, she can easily accomplish similar feats of terrifying body alterations, and...generally does so. She grows tentacles if she needs extra reach or extra limbs. She just grows whatever claws or other melee weapons she might need at the time. And, she usually grows her own armor. She can pretty easily produce enough biomass to feed a few people daily, but...don't ask where the food's coming from.

Alien Resilience - Runa's body is incredibly adaptable, and incredibly hardy. She regenerates quickly, even regrowing limbs with little problem. She can still be hurt, of course, and still feels pain. However, what constitutes an inconveniencing injury to her may be considerably...more than it would be for most. And even then, she recovers quickly. More than just that, she is immune to poisons and diseases, hardly seems to age, and can survive in any environment, from extreme heat to extreme cold, to the near-total darkness and extreme pressures of the deep ocean, even in deep space, although she's never been there. She probably doesn't need to eat, drink, or breathe, but she enjoys doing all three.

Energy-patterning organs - Runa is capable of manipulating gravity and warping space around herself. She can use this ability to fly with ease, and can also generate powerful gravity blasts if she needs a ranged attack. If she needs an edge in melee, she has sometimes essentially combined a gravity "bullet" with a close-combat strike. Of course, such an increased impact tends to lead to destroying the limb used in the attack. When she flies, small bits of debris are usually carried along with her. Just about all of her gravitational manipulations are accompanied by rings or flashes of multicolored light, with rainbow rings often appearing ahead of her or around her as she flies.

Tentacle Frenzy - Tendrils of flesh explode out of Runa's body in all directions, flaying apart unprotected flesh. Just about anything within a 20 foot radius is in danger from the attack, and although her tentacles will flow over armor they cannot punch through in an attempt to find a crack and force their way in, they have a harder time punching through armor, so hardened targets are less likely to be damaged.

Equipment:
  • Clothes
  • Stuffed animals
  • A cell phone or its current equivalent.
  • A beaten-up lab notebook which she uses as a journal, in emulation of her "father". The first half or so contains his own notes on his work.
  • She fights unarmed, and most of what she needs, she grows, so most of her possessions are just those of a teenage girl.

Name: Sonia Kaguya
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Personality:
Sonia is a calm, logical girl. She rarely, if ever, loses her cool. Though she gives off a friendly impression, it's merely a facade to get along in life easier. She tends to research or think before she says much, not liking anything that hasn't been thought out very well. However, the one thing that can get her going and perhaps not think fully rationally is something that seems interesting or fun. She's almost perpetually bored and seeks to destroy that.

She is not a fan of unnecessary conflict and will avoid it if possible. However, she has no qualms about it and will fight if she perceives it to be the most sensible option. She enjoys gathering information, but is hesitant to share it unless doing so benefits her. Though she's somewhat easy to approach due to her usual kindness, it's hard to get close to her since she hates sharing information unnecessarily and is actually a fairly cold, unfeeling person.

Biography:
From just her birth, nobody would have thought anything of Sonia. She had normal parents with an average income, living in an average house in an average city. Or at least, as normal and average as things got after the invasion. However, once she grew up, it was apparent she wasn't quite as average as expected. Her memory was impeccable, easily recalling things that had happened recently with perfect precision. She cruised through school, learning things perfectly as they were taught. Repetition wasn't needed for Sonia, just hearing it, seeing it, or doing it once was enough for her.

Though she was a popular resource to her classmates, she never really managed to make any close friends. She didn't understand at first that she was different, she had figured everyone was like her. When people asked her how she could do something, she simply replied "How can't you?" Naturally, this came off as very demeaning, even though she hadn't meant it that way. To her, it was just an honest question. Of course she realized how it had been coming off, but by the time she'd bothered thinking about it the damage was done. In the end, she decided she had no need for them. They could offer nothing to her, so there was no point trying to relate to them. There was no benefit. Of course, making enemies was very much to her detriment, so she acted friendly towards others so as to avoid malice.

Her parents weren't sure what to do with this gift. Develop technology further? Put her into a special program? Or just let her live a normal life? Scared of making the wrong decision and scarring their child, they just allowed her to live as if she was as ordinary as the next person. Of course, with her abilities, this didn't last long. She finished up high school quite early and wrapped up college at the age of 10. After all, school was mostly strict memorization, a natural fit for her ability.

Her achievements were rather impressive, garnering some praise at the time. But she had little desire for huge riches or garnering a lot of fame. As long as she had enough money to live comfortably, it was enough. After all, fame and an abundance of money would just lead to her having to manage an image and all sorts of nonsense. Dealing with that would be obnoxious. She maintained a fairly high-ranking job, becoming incredibly rich for someone her age. But she grew bored. School wasn't challenging. Work wasn't challenging. In fact, making sure she didn't rise too high was the hardest part. She needed something that would force her out of her emotional stasis.

Then the Abyssals attacked. They were dispatched, of course, but the effect of their attacks was not lost on her. Her parents were dead. The only people that had cared for her as more than "that genius kid." For the first time in a long time, she felt something. A desire for revenge. A burning anger in her heart. Her first powerful emotion since childhood was just a blazing desire for "justice." She took it upon herself to destroy any Abyssals that had been leftover, dropping her job for vigilantism.

But the passion soon vanished. She knew her parents were dead, and no amount of killing Abyssals would fix that. It was pointless. Not just killing Abyssals, nothing she was doing in her life had any meaning. She grew bored again, not knowing what to do with herself. However, thanks to her vigilante activities, her potential was soon recognized, and she got an offer to join the Final Five. It was a tempting offer, sounding like something that could destroy her perpetual boredom. She liked the sound of it. And it came with the added bonus of taking care of social interaction for her. Humans require it almost without exception, whether they want it or not. Perhaps this could be the thing she needed in her life, the excitement she'd been wanting her whole life.

And so she accepted the offer, joining the Final Five.

Stats:
Might - 2
Finesse - 2
Fortitude - 2
Health - 2
Speed - 11
Perception - 3
Arcane - 10
Spirit - 1
Heroism - 3

Abilities:

Superhuman Mind: Sonia can process things faster, allowing her to react to things faster than others. In addition, this allows her to think faster as well, giving her more time for thinking while doing whatever else she may be doing. She can learn things simply by observing them, allowing her to pick up knowledge and learn skills faster. In short, she doesn't forget things, has a faster reaction speed, and learns quickly.

The Mind's Will: Mind over matter, as they say. Sonia possesses telekinesis, pushing, pulling, compressing, and performing other actions on things she focuses on. She can even form invisible telekinetic constructs to slice things apart, form walls, and more.

Mind Against Mind: Sonia can directly assail another mind, whether by blasting it with psychic energy or attempting to pry into it and tinker with it, though the latter is relatively easily resisted by more capable minds.

World's End: Using her ability to manipulate matter, Sonia consciously reduces the speed of all molecules not belonging to herself in a 10 meter/32 foot radius sphere around her. The slowing of the molecules essentially stops all other movement within the sphere. Movements entering the sphere are also stopped, while those leaving the sphere are resumed as if nothing had happened. While this is very powerful, her other abilities become limited for the duration, Mind Against Mind becoming completely unusable while her Superhuman Mind's capacity is completely used up, leaving her with a normal processing capacity for the duration. The Mind's Will's more intricate uses are disabled, limiting her to pushes, pulls, and forming simple constructs only. Due to stopping airflow as well, this only lasts as long as she can hold her breath.

Equipment:

Headphones: Can pick up and transmit signals and increase the wearer's hearing capacity. Can be used to intercept signals as well.

Computer: A very powerful laptop. Used for coding, hacking, etc.

PERSONALITY
[/bg]

There are two kind of people in the world. The good ones and baddies. The good ones can do whatever the fuck they want, well, as long as they stay good, and the baddies deserve to be punished. Now, who decides who'sgood and bad? The answer is pretty obvious: Kyouko Hiruma. And who punishes those baddies? Kyouko Hiruma.

Kyouko sees herself, and hopefully everyone else too, as a hero. She doesn't lie, keeps promises, babbles on about honour, is pretty self-absorbed, over-confident, a small hypocrite and so on. Failure is something she doesn't even know how to spell.

While she may seem a little bit arrogant and like a jerk to some, especially with her age, she hasn't lost sight of what's right for the most part. Even if putting up a tough front, she cares about others who follow the path of righteousness and does everything possible to protect them, especially the weak. If someone innocent had to die, and Kyouko is still well and alive, she considers it a failure. Furthermore, when not being a tiny jerk, she always carries an aura of activity and joy around her. And being a master of denying reality by pure willpower, she doesn't give up in the direst of situations either.

Below that tough and happy front though, lies a rather lonely and gloomy girl. Fearing for some bad events to repeat themselves, she makes sure to not care really too deeply about anyone, putting her friendship counter pretty much onto a zero. And having no friends sucks just as much as it sounds, so, if not wasting time being silly around the streets, Kyouko actually spends a lot of time alone. And what is a nice hobby when being all alone? That's right, gaming!

[bg=#ED4337]
BIOGRAPHY
[/bg]

Born as the single-daughter of an asshole that was a master of lies and deception especially towards his daughter heroic Gentlemen that was the most super awesome dad in the world, and also not poor, Kyouko's childhood was rather nice for the majority of it. She had a cool dad and lotsa free-time to spend doing whatever the fuck she wanted to do.

Though, when the Abyssal emerged life changed. Thanks to her father running away kicking ass and the Final Five getting the situation quickly under control, the girl knew that since then, she wanted to become a hero! Over were the days of being lazy as fuck and doing whatever she felt like doing, and instead days of heroic adventures and creating trouble that she didn't have to clean up followed - so all in all she still did whatever the fuck she felt like doing.

One such great adventure was with her best friend Miku, or to be more precise, with Miku AND her father! Unlike Kyouko's dad, Miku's was a researcher and said adventure was accompanying him at work, more or less. Sure, it was in the middle of the night, sure, no one else was at the research center at this moment and yes, he probably broke over 9000 security clauses. But with her best friend Miku ensuring that everything was alright, Kyouko pressed on regardless. Seeing all that sick secret stuff in some research laboratory was tempting after all.

As it turned out though, her dad wasn't the sanest, and neither was Miku. While her dad babbled about stuff like having a breakthrough, human experiments being the best, having a great daughter that supports him and so on, Miku kept on about giving Kyouko the power she desired to become a hero. After all, the two girls were a classic case of one protecting the other melodrama. So, despite her bestest of efforts to not go into the tank, Kyouko was forced into the tank. Miku on the other hand moved voluntary into another one. After this there wasn't too much the girl remembered, after all, she was busy not drowning into the sticky watery mass that was poured into the tank and made her lose consciousness.

Now, not knowing if she was still alive, Kyouko had a boring dream. About floating in space while some entity that was at least 10 times bigger than the earth kept on talking and talking, and considering she kinda forgot about the dream, she also forgot about whatever this being talked about.

Regardless, sooner or later Kyouko woke up to the sounds of fire and a destroyed laboratory. Apparently something has gone wrong (or right?) with whatever Miku's dad tried to do. Being the self-proclaimed survival expert she was and thanks to luck, Kyouko made it out of there alive. Soon after however she did learn that Miku got some kickass power. Which would have been awesome if not for the fact that Miku also turned kinda mad, infected by some ancient eldritch morphing entity or similar. Apparently gifted with the power to create nothingness in place of something, it wasn't really hard for evil Miku to make it into the news!

Nonetheless, Kyouko, much like many others, took it upon herself to stop her. Where others just saw some evil monster doing its evil monster stuff, Kyouko still saw her best friend. And she would be damn sure to turn her best friend back on a proper path. That Miku was still part herself sure helped, and ultimately led, with the help of Kyouko, to Miku regaining most of her senses for long enough to kill herself.

So all she the heroine did in the end was use her power of friendship and love to appeal to Miku's feelings; who did all the dirty work herself. And while this may be the true version, the version everyone else is aware of goes something along the lines of this: Some sick half-mutated monster girl emerged out of nowhere and did its evil destruction stuff until some unimportant teenage girl came around and kicked its ass, making her important all of a sudden. And building on that lie, Kyouko also managed to get herself a place among the Final Five. A long-awaited dream finally coming true, built on a lie and the death of her best friend.

[bg=#ED4337]
ABILITIES
[/bg]

Luck favours the Bold
Kyouko is pretty lucky, not always, but enough that it can be considered abnormal. She's the kid that everyone hates because luck decides to give her the exact result the brat wanted in 11 out of 10 tries.

Maybe she was born like that, maybe it's her natural talent or maybe some bored otherworldly being decided to watch over her small self. The fact remains unchanged, Kyouko is very damn lucky. In the more shady casinos of Shanhu, that allow participation of illegal age, she is also feared as the RNGod and entry to said establishments is strictly forbidden for her.
Unbreakable Will
What do you do when you fail in a task? You try again. You try again and again until you succeed, simply as that. And for Kyouko, it works, it works in fact so well that there is a huge enough difference that it is easily visible between the first and second (and any attempt after) this.

It basically means that if Kyouko fails at something and tries again, her chances for success become higher. If she fails again, they become even higher and so on until she succeeds.
HYPER KYOUKO FINAL
Also called "SUPER HERO PUNCH". It's not really a punch, or a kick, or anything, really. She could throw a bottle of mayonnaise at someone and yell that attack out loud. What counts is that every hero needs a heroic super move that scales off their heroic Heroism. Really, any hero without a heroic hero attack is just some cheap fake that taints the heroic title of a Hero. And exactly because of that Kyouko has an entire slot wasted on a heroic super attack that she can obviously only use if appropriate.
Neuanfang - The Restored World
The power Kyouko was gifted with but has no clue about. Apart from putting her, and Miku's, natural powers onto the peak of humanity, each of them were gifted with one of the Seven Keys of Creation. Where Miku had the Third Key with the Power of Chaos, Kyouko bears the Second Key with the Power of Recreation. In its purest form it simply means take any entity that has existed or currently exist and turn its state back to an earlier point, including the state of never having existed in the first place.

Now, this may sound all awesome and overpowered and so on, but there is the slight problem that Kyouko wasn't as cool as Miku. While Miku figured her powers out pretty quickly and could have been a once in a Millennia prodigy, Kyouko doesn't even know of her hidden power. And even if she started to figure stuff out, she probably would need to stick to repair broken things for the start. And while this is most likely not relevant for a long time, overuse of a Key of Creation, as Miku did it, attracts rather unwanted attention and could turn out badly… .

[bg=#ED4337]
EQUIPMENT
[/bg]

  • A heroic red scarf that always flows in the wind, mandatory equipment.
  • Apart from that, just really mundane stuff like a wallet with a picture of Miku and Kyouko.
  • Seriously, armors and weapons are for the weak! At least until she got her hands on some freebies!

Now that I think about it.

Why the fuck doesn't she have a mayonnaise-related attack?

If I could I would have removed that belt! But Mayonnaise can obviously be incooperated into her HYPER KYOUKO FINAL.

Name: SAM [S19-AM]

Age: 19 (neurological age)

Gender: Male (He was built to be a male.)

Personality: SAM is a very silent, intelligent, and very thoughtful being. He doesn't speak often, and will try to avoid it when possible. He has a general care for the welfare of others around him and will, more often than not, save the life of another at the risk of his own. Despite being selfless, SAM hates killing. He will knockout a target rather than killing them, but if the mission requires to kill, SAM has to do what he has to do. After all, SAM is a robot and the laws of robotics states; 'A robot must obey orders given to him by a human being, unless it conflicts with the first law.' The first law being; 'A robot may not harm a human being, or by inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.' (Basically, SAM must obey and order to kill any criminals or hostile beings that could have the potential to put ANY other human being at harm.) He keeps to himself and shows little emotion where others would show plenty. SAM still cares, without showing it. He believes everyone should have a chance at life and to right any errors. SAM loves anything to do with technology. he's fascinated by how machines that are more simple ,or more complicated than him, work. He does repair jobs and builds technology for his team when they are on missions without him, or when he has spare time. ((Has been edited))

Biography: SAM was created in a small laboratory that was within a military base. He was designed as a machine to go in where it would be dangerous for human soldiers to go. SAM was built by a small team of Leading mechanical engineers and Robotics scientists. He was designed to be a friendly machine to comfort any innocents and to negotiate when necessary. The team tested and surveyed hundreds of subjects to find a perfect personality and neurological age for him. After collecting enough data, they took the best qualities out of the subjects and programmed them into SAM. When time came for SAM to have some combat ability, the team turned to some of the best martial arts masters in the world. Most of them had lethal moves, but the few that were non-lethal were used in programming SAM. This however, didn't discount the fact that SAM is still capable of killing a target if necessary. SAM was given a social enhancer so that he could easily do negotiations and make proper arguments. Finally the time had come for SAM to be put into the battlefield (A sort of counter measure against the abyssals.). He was sent with a regular platoon of armored marines, and even got a picture taken with all of them. The one robot among the humans... The one robot that came back alone. The social enhancer that was given to SAM made him bond faster than any human ever could with these marines. technology was at it's high, and the team building SAM didn't waste their efforts in making him more than advanced. The high end technology didn't come without it's price though; when the day came that the platoon was slaughtered, SAM was crushed. Every. Last. One. Dead.

The trauma caused SAM's social enhancer to fry. The tremendous emotional load shorted out the neurological wave lengths and receptiveness of SAM as a whole. The team developing SAM decided they would replace the social enhancer and make it less effective. SAM would still be able to make friends, but he wouldn't be practically making family with anyone anymore. The change had produced wonderful results, leading to the SAM that exists as of current. SAM still has an image of the photo saved to his memory. He recognizes himself and the people, but he wonders where they are and why he has a photo of them. The upgrade kept SAM's friendly relationships, but made him forget who the people were or what they did that made SAM like them. He hopes to someday uncover the mystery. SAM was put into stasis when the laboratory was under siege from the aliens. When no one came to wake him up, the stasis timed out. SAM woke up in a ruined laboratory and wandered out into the world. He had no clue what had happened. He ended up being picked up by a search and rescue team, where he was found wandering in a desert. The search and rescue team was intercepted by the same organization that SAM was created under. Eventually SAM made his way into The Final Five. SAM grew attached to the organization and the people, so he decided he'd stay. What SAM didn't know was that the British robot didn't make his own choice, he was with the Final Five from the start. The development, creation, and testing was all under a wing of The Final Five. SAM was developed under a child organization, child to the parent organization of The Final Five. ((Has been edited))

Abilities:

The wall: SAM takes a stance and hardens his exoskeleton entirely. During this time he cannot move, speak, or see. However he is able to take excess amounts of damage without any repercussions afterwards. This is something that takes a fair amount of time to initiate and is used as a of cover for allies rather than surviving a fight.

Pardon?: SAM produces a sound on a frequency high enough that it is unable to be heard, it blocks out any sound in a distance around him. It is used for Stealth (obviously) and for SAM to fray any sound detection in most robotics. This doesn't go for long, and usually fades in a matter of seconds.

Glass: SAM will X-ray a being and see it's skeletal structure. He will see any pressure points, past fractures, or general weak points in his opponent. This requires SAM to remain almost completely still whilst performing this action. This can also be used to see through cover. (Not walls, but things like concrete barriers or wooden boxes.)

Friends: Being a machine of vast knowledge, SAM is able to communicate with other machines. Such as keypads, security drones, or turrets. There are some that are built strictly to kill, and SAM is unable to talk with them. This makes SAM a prodigy with technology.

Equipment:
A black Damascus Steel Odachi (a long one edged straight bladed sword, literally averaging a length of five feet.) Forged with chunks of Carbide to make the sword extremely hard to break. SAM can super heat his blade to melt metal or electrify it using his own power to produce... (I've been waiting for this)... Shocking... Results. (Thanks @Azathoth for helping me pick out an alloy for the sword.)

A silver hand cannon (It looks like an older revolver) with lines of blue lights on it. It can change from a silenced normal .357 shot, to a un-silenced rifle shot. SAM rarely uses it, unless he decides he has to.

3 enhanced human senses. Hearing, Sight, and Touch.

A small railgun that expels any excess energy SAM may have stored. It's not visible until it is used. It shoots out of a small rectangular chunk of alloy on SAM's chest. The alloy piece lifts up and the cannon slides out a small amount. (I just put this in for fun. Wanted to see if this would actually be OP or not.)

A multi-lingual voice data base. (he usually sticks to just one, but changes with the situation.)
