Hyaline Lyall
(Color Significance : Hyalina translates to 'without hue' in Latin)
Age : 16
Gender : Male
Height/Weight : 5'9"/ 155lbs
General Appearance :
- - Hya has healthy brown-ish black hair that twists and curls down far enough to frame his face, which is also far enough to get in the way so he tends to leave it tied back into a low pony. He cleans and cares for his hair religiously, citing it to be his favorite aspect of his body. He has an average build and weight, albeit with a little more fat than muscle, which is something he has no shame in admitting—his brain is the only muscle he needs, after all. He wears a baggy yellow sweater, which almost reaches down to his knees, under a rubber vest—which acts as a apron while he works—cut from an old black raincoat. He also wears thick, chemical and heat resistant gloves that go up to his elbows—those are green, though he's tried many times to change them to a color that better suits the rest of his clothes. Hya also wears insulated fleece pajama pants—plaid with both blue and orange colors—and simple black slip-on shoes. When out on scouting missions, he also wears a yellow beanie hat and a brown bandanna over his lower face. Everything he wears is covered in small burns from sparks and accidental dust-fires.
Weapon(s) :
- - C-7 (Model C, Iteration 7): A hand-made, dust powered shotgun made from old Atlas technology. It jams, it backfires, it falls apart, but it's a true testament to Hya's potential; it's made almost entirely from scratch. The body is made mostly from white plastic that Hya melted and molded himself, but the receiver is made from very rugged metal held together in just about every way imaginable—an amalgamation of nails, tape, horrible welds, twists, bends and even some wire. The receiver is, unsurprisingly, the main issue with the weapon. The barrel is a simple pipe that sticks out of the body almost a foot, and the loading mechanism utilizes a bolt without any sort of magazine, meaning Hya has to load each hand-made dust round individually. In a long fight, the C-7 is nearly useless, but it also has great potential; a single shell has the power to kill a small beowolf at close-range.
Other Equipment :
- - A large duffel bag filled with replacement parts for his weapon, extra stores of food and water and a thick blanket.
Personality :
- - Far from stoic, but still noticeably dull on the emotional spectrum, Hyal is one of the less interesting—and less involved—members of the Lyall family. He's sparse around Nelone, at best, and tends to be glued to his mentor's side whenever he's seen. He finds peace in tinkering with older technologies, particularly those of Atlesian Military origin, and lays claim to every bit of academic reading material that makes its way to Nelone; he claims that, one day, he'll have enough material and knowledge to make a real mecha-shift weapon of his own, like the ones hunters and huntresses used to carry. When he's not around Nelone, or out scouting with Koa, he's usually found in his make-shift workshop/bedroom less than a mile down the bridge on which Nelone is settled—within walking distance, but out of earshot, for absolute silence.
Kakao Rion
(Color Significance : Kakao translates to Cocoa in German)
Age : 28
Gender : Female
Height/Weight : 5'6"/ 105 lbs
Parents : Deceased. Both had a large role in founding Nelone, but neither saw it at it's peak. Their nicknames were Firblou and Farbig (colorless and colorful).
General Appearance :
- - Koa has a slight frame with a minimal amount of fat, due to a near constant lack of appetite. If it weren't for her abundance of toned muscle she would appear very sickly, with nearly snow-white skin and abnormally dark freckles that would bring worry if she weren't raised in a post-apocalyptic society. Koa's choice of apparel hasn't changed in nearly a decade, and it's apparent; she wears tattered tan sweatpants with tears, patches and stitches strewn throughout, and both ankles and waistband tied to her form with a durable cloth to prevent too much inconvenient movement during battle. Her sweater changes periodically depending on the season, but the sweater shown above is special to her, so she's kept it for several years despite cold winters—she jokes that her sweater matches her hand, as both were burned in the same incident around five years ago. Her left hand is borderline mutilated, and she usually keeps it wrapped in the same wrapping gauze that she wears instead of socks on her feet, and instead of a bra on her chest. Her faunus trait is that of a pronghorn—a type of antelope—and it gives her two small antlers and large, expressive ears. Her hair is thick, and it flows and curls like caramel down to just below her shoulders. She tends to tie it up before a battle, so it doesn't get in the way. Her glasses, which she's borderline blind without, are bent, cracked and foggy, and a little too small for her head. She's had the same metal-framed pair since she was seven.
Weapon(s) :
- - Oliver: A twisted piece of metal, broken off at one end and sharpened on every edge except the handle. The twisted blade measures about two feet, of which about seven inches are wrapped in cloth, duct tape and rubber gauze all melted together to make a thick, rubberized handle. The handle has no pommel, and even has a small, sharp point at the end opposite of the blade for surprise attacks—although Koa has accidentally cut herself several times with this unintentional hazard. The blade itself twists every few inches, and is sharpened on every edge, making it ideal for shallow, jagged cuts that won't heal easily or brutal stabs that won't heal at all. It was salvaged from the crashed remains of a Bullhead airship.
Other Equipment :
- - An abundance of medical-grade gauze that adheres to itself.
Relationships :
- - Hyaline Lyall, a sixteen year-old who looks up to Koa as a sister and a role-model. She's been teaching him how to do the work she does around Nelone, in case she doesn't make it back from a scouting mission someday.
