  There are many reasons to be afraid of the dark. Legends passed down from generation to generation have talked about bloodthirsty demons who set out once the sun has set in search of their next prey to satiate their never ending hunger for human flesh. What many do not realize is that there is some truth to legends and all these stories about demons are very much true. No one really knows where they came from or why they did. They have been roaming these lands for as long as anyone can remember. Some say that these cruel and sadistic beings were once humans who have lost their humanity a long time ago. What could lead someone to lose oneself in such a manner? That remains a mystery. One thing is for sure, as long as they continue to exist humans will never be safe. But who could face a being that is stronger, faster, and immortal? Only a select group of people have taken it upon themselves to do so. They are known as Demon Slayers, and for centuries they have been hunting and killing demons to protect humankind. But the number of demons keeps growing and more Demon Slayers and humans are losing their lives with every passing day. What else can be done to stop the demons from destroying everything we hold dear?

• The Plot

  In Taisho-era Japan, Muzan Kibutsuji, the progenitor to many demons and the first demon to ever exist, is searching for a way to become the perfect being, a search that has been going on for centuries. And he will destroy anyone that gets in his way of achieving it. The Demon Slayer Corp has been struggling to put an end to his ploy, but are way over their heads with the increasing number of demons wrecking havoc. To make matters worse Muzan has rebuilt his group of Demon Moons to help him in his task of finding the Blue Spider Lily, which is the key ingredient to reach perfection, and to destroy the Demon Slayer Corps once and for all.

  -All Iwaku rules apply.
  -Cursing is permitted.
  -This is a semi-advanced to advanced thread so longer posts and proper grammar and spelling are expected (don't beat yourself up over minor mistakes though it happens to all of us).
  -You can make as many characters as you want as long as you don't overwhelm yourself.
  -Expect sensitive/controversial topics such as violence and explicit language.
  -If you want to discuss a topic that could be triggering for everyone else please warn us in advance.
  -Try not to make overpowered characters (the Hashiras and Upper Demon Moons are very powerful but they have their flaws and weaknesses as well).
  -If you have any questions regarding the thread do not hesitate to reach out and ask, I'll be happy to help.
  -If you haven't watched the anime but still want to join, then that is perfectly fine just make sure to look over the information I have provided on this post and to ask questions (there is also a Wiki page you can check out).
  -You are permitted to make side characters if you want and don't need to fill out a form for them (just make sure to provide the basic details about them and how they tie into the story).
  -All plots need to be run by me, so I can keep track of what is going on (a Discord server will be created for plotting and discussion).
  -Please don't leave anyone out when plotting.
  -In the rank section of the form for Demon Moons, put what number they are and if they are an Upper or Lower Demon Moon (ex. Upper Moon 1)
  -The Demon Moons are the main antagonists along with Muzan of the thread, but they don't always have to be active.
  -It's perfectly fine to repeat breath styles among the Demon Slayers but the Hashiras cannot repeat breath styles with each other (there is only one Pillar per breath style).
  -You are more than welcome to create your own breath style just make sure to explain the forms.
  -Demon Slayers mostly use standard swords but there are some that use a more creative variation of the sword, especially among the Hashiras, so you may do that as well.
  -If you want you are allowed to have your Demon Slayer characters become demons at some point in the rp, and what happens to them is up to you.
  -You may either choose to create your own Breath Style or use one from the anime.

  Demons:

  A race of monstrous, immortal, and malevolent beings that possess a murderous instinct to kill and devour humans. They have lost most of their memories from their human life, but retain a twisted, dark version of their original personality. Demons can come in a variety of forms. Most look human at first, only with slight changes like paler skin, catlike eyes with unusually-colored sclera, dark markings that come in various patterns across their bodies, or a change in hair color. The changes differ from demon to demon, as some can still retain their normal appearance while others gain monstrous features like multiple heads, mouths or limbs. They also gain abilities, such as enhanced regeneration, inhuman physical capabilities, and Blood Demon Art, which are spells that demons can cast due to their special blood. There are two ways to become a demon. One is being converted to one by being exposed to the blood of either Muzan or his first two Demon Moons. The second is being transformed through science by a benevolent demon named Tamayo. Demons are rather difficult to kill. They can only be killed by sunlight, which is why they are only active at night, or getting beheaded by the Nichirin Blade of a Demon Slayer.
  
  
  

  Twelve Demon Moons:

  A group of twelve very powerful demons who are under the direct command of Muzan. Each member has received a larger portion of Kibutsuji's blood than any other demon, greatly augmenting their powers. They are divided into two groups: the six Upper Moons and the six Lower Moons, both are numbered one through six. The number signifies their ranking among the Moons, determined by each member's level of strength, Upper Moon One being the strongest and Lower Moon Six being the weakest. The Lower Moons have their numbers and ranks engraved only into one eye, whereas the Upper Moons have their numbers in one eye and the kanji for "Upper Moon" in the other. The Upper Moons each possess a level of power that far surpasses that of the Lower Moons; as proof of their strength, the strongest of the Demon Slayer Corps, the Hashira, have killed numerous Lower Moons over the years, while the Upper Moons have killed and eaten many Hashira.
  
  
  

  Tamayo's Demons:

  A small group of demons that have been converted by a demon named Tamayo. She is one of the many demons created by Muzan, but she was able to escape from his control and regain her humanity. Afterwards, she dedicated her life to researching demons and demon transformation. She also works as a doctor, helping any human in need, despite being a demon herself. These demons she created were once humans who were on the verge of dying from either disease or severe wounds but chose to go through the procedure of becoming a demon to live. She has taught them how to retain their humanity and to survive on small amounts of donated blood. They no longer crave for human flesh and do not need it to maintain their strength and energy. Unlike most of the demons created by Muzan, these demons look mostly human and are able to pass through crowds without any problem. Only a skilled Demon Slayer would be able to detect them. Tamayo is well-acquainted with the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, Kagaya Ubuyashiki, which grants herself and her demons protection from both Muzan and the Demon Slayers.
  
  
  

  Demon Slayer Corps:

  An organization that has existed since ancient times, dedicating its existence to protecting humanity from demons. It is led by the head of the Ubuyshiki family. There are hundreds of Demon Slayers within the organization, but they aren't officially recognized by the government. To become one an individual must pass the Final Selection, a test used as an entrance exam to join the Demon Slayer Corps. During this selection, examinees must survive for seven days on a mountain top infested with Demons without any aid from the outside world. Candidates who complete the Final Selection are issued the standard uniform, as well as being given the opportunity to choose the ore for their special sword, which is designed to eliminate Demons efficiently. Each new Slayer is also assigned one of a rare species of talking bird for communication purposes. Members of the Demon Slayer Corps are separated into ten different ranks: Mizunoto, Mizunoe, Kanoto, Kanoe, Tsuchinoto, Tsuchinoe, Hinoto, Hinoe, Kinoto, and Kinoe. Once a Demon Slayer has fully settled into the organization, they are classified as a member of the lowest rank: Mizunoto. They must complete a variety of missions to ultimately climb the ranks and reach the highest Demon Slayer position: Kinoe. Within the Demon Slayer Corps, there is a group of elites, known as The Nine Hashira. This group consists of the nine most powerful combatants in the organization. And then there is Tsuguko, which is a very talented Demon Slayer that has been designated as the successor to one of the Nine Hashira, should that Hashira retire or die. In order to become a Tsuguko, a Demon Slayer can either apply and get accepted, or get scouted by one of the current Hashira.
  
  All slayers have enhanced strength, speed, stamina, agility, mobility of the joints, and resistance to injury; all at superhuman levels. Abilities specific to certain individuals include unconscious combat, omnipresent rage, unique muscle composition, enhanced senses, and extrasensory perception. Some slayers have naturally enhanced senses, which they use in combination with existing breath styles or develop new breath styles. These senses are hearing, smell, touch, and sight.
  
  Breath styles are swordsmanship styles practiced and taught by the Demon Slayer Corps. The Breath Styles make use of specific and concentrated breath patterns, which increase the user's lung capacity and amount of oxygen in the blood. This increases the user's physical abilities and mental concentration, allowing them to fight on par with Demon's, whose physical prowess surpass that of the average human. Full Focus Breathing, also known as Total Concentration in some translations, is a state where Breath Style users inhale the maximum amount of oxygen within a specific breath pattern to raise their physical and mental strength to their utmost limits. It is often used by Demon Slayers to temporarily prepare a decisive attack.
  
  A select few in the Demon Slayer Corps have recently developed a mysterious marking that can be unlocked and may appear on the body of a strong Demon Slayer. These marks are referred to as Demon Slayer Marks. It looks somewhat like a tattoo, scar, or birthmark and each Demon Slayer Mark looks unique, relating to the Breath Style of the bearer. The Demon Slayer Mark can only appear in Demon Slayers that survived the life-threatening conditions. The Demon Slayer's mark also has the ability to act as a catalyst, and spread from the original user to other strong Slayers, such as the Hashira, through resonance, granting them Demon Slayer Marks of their own. They grant the user a number of abilities that are very advantageous in battle, especially against Demons, such as enhanced physical capabilities, perceiving the world around them at a faster rate, and a crimson red Nichirin Blade.
  
  The members of the Demon Slayer Corps wear a uniform that is highly durable and light-weight. It cannot be easily damaged by minor Demons. They sport their uniforms with a white belt and hakama pants, also wearing a white long-sleeved collared shirt underneath everything. The Nichirin Blade is the signature weapon of the Demon Slayer Corps. It is a katana sword made from a special ore that constantly absorbs sunlight. The blade changes color upon the wielder drawing the blade for the first time. The color that the blade changes is dependent on the user and the different colors bestow different properties on the blade.
  
  
  

  The Hashira:

  Also known as the Pillars, are the nine most powerful swordsmasters in the Demon Slayer Corps. They are regarded as the most potent swordsmen among all the Demon Slayers. Their existence literally sustains the entire organization. Those who are of lower rank may be killed at a frightening rate, but each Hashira possesses a distinct Breath Style which is learned from a cultivator or developed through extreme training. The Hashira are all assigned a specific region that they are required to patrol, usually to gather information about the Demons inhabiting the said area and to improve their swordsmanship. To be a member of the Hashira, a Demon Slayer must be among the strongest combatants in the entirety of the Demon Slayer Corps. There are two known methods that allow one to prove that they are worthy of becoming a Hashira; the first method is to accumulate a demon kill count of at least 50; the second method is to slay a demon who is a member of the Twelve Demon Moons. The effort required to achieve either of these methods requires almost five years worth of training, though, the talented might take only two or so years to do so.

Description: 5'9; 144 lbs; noa has a rather lean and muscular build. when he was younger he was very thin and scrawny since he had spent years scavenging for food and was not always able to get a decent meal. when touma took him in and started training him, he filled out more and developed muscle. he has quite a lot of scarring that cover multiple parts of his body, such as his arms, back, and legs. many of them he received from either training, especially the ones put together by isla's mentor, aurai, and battles against demons. however, the worst ones are the ones on his back, which he received from the variety of abuse he faced while living on the streets.

Description: noa is as approachable as a feral cat. when you encounter him for the first time he will either pay you no mind or find a way to brush you aside. he gives off a very cold impression since he rarely shows what he is feeling, so a lot of people tend to think he is emotionally distant and aloof, which could not be further from the truth. noa is capable of feeling and caring for others. in fact, one might say he cares too much. he is always the first person to be there when something is wrong and will do whatever he can to fix or improve the situation. but not everyone realizes this right away since he tries not to draw too much attention at the fact that he is helping and will often do it without being asked to. he also never expects to be thanked or have something done for him in return. his main concern is that the person is okay and that the situation has been resolved without anyone getting hurt. he is incapable of turning a blind eye to anyone in need. and even though he may came across as rather curt at first, he will always be there to help.

when he was younger he was very impulsive and it often got him in trouble. he would immediately run into the fray without thinking everything through. due to how quickly and expertly he was picking up what was being taught to him in training he became too confident in his skills and was not too concern about what he was getting himself into. it also did not help that he was almost always able to figure out how to get himself out of the trouble he had gotten himself into earlier. his mentor touma only had to step in every once in a while to help him, but that did not stop him from getting scolded every time it happened. after touma's death, noa learned to be more careful and mindful of what his actions can lead to. he now makes sure to assess the situation at hand instead of running into it blindly, thinking that his skills are enough for him to be successful. it has helped him to become more humble about his abilities, which he tends to downplay a lot.

despite having the skills and mentality needed to make a good leader, noa never likes to take on leadership roles. he will do it if he has to, but if someone else volunteered to take charge, then he will step aside without any hesitation. the reason for this is because he does not think too highly of himself and believes he will only lead others to ruin. he is convinced he will never live up to touma's expectations and should not be looked up to. a lot of this stems from his survivor's guilt and how he still blames himself for touma's and his team's deaths. he is incredibly hard on himself and is often seen working past exhaustion as an attempt to improve his abilities and to pass the time since he never sleeps.

it requires a lot of time, patience, and persistence to get close to noa. he is never the first one to approach you unless he has to for professional reasons. do not even try to make small talk with him cause he will walk away without saying anything. it is very difficult to forge any kind of relationship with him since he is not an open individual. even those who have managed to become close to him do not know everything there is about him. the only one who is close to achieving that is isla but she still has some way to go. but once you have formed some sort of relationship with him, then he would not mind being around you and will actually look a little more relaxed. he might even joke a bit ― though his humor is dry and rather dark. he will also go out of his way to look out for you, making sure that everything is okay. for those he does not like or irritate him, he will not hesitate to provoke or belittle them, going so far as to insult them.

BREATH STYLE

Type: breath of blood; a breath style created by his mentor, which he derived from breath of water

Forms:
First Form: Blood Whip
This is a form where one takes their blade with two hands by the hilt, and whips their blade forward in a horizontal fashion. This will cause a blood wave to suddenly whip outwards, reaching up to 5 extra feet forward, nearly doubling the striking range of any normal katana. This blood would be as sharp, if not sharper than the katana, and would make for an easy and quick kill. The most important thing to keep in mind with this ability is to slice directly across the center, if you falter even a little, the slice could become faulty.

Second Form: Sporadic Spiral
This attack requires you be at least 10 feet in the air, as you place your blade downward and hold it close to your chest, as your blood spirals around the blade. Then, to release you will suddenly jerk downwards, causing the blood to shoot down and penetrate the ground, before suddenly whipping out of control in a ten feet radius, forcing anyone in that radius backwards. You will be much like the stem, and you will stay suspended in the air as a blood pillar would be below you from the blade.

Third Form: Bloody Riptide
This is meant to be used as a diversion to allow you to flow properly into another attack. This will be a single quick attack, where you hold your blade at your waist, and swing it upwards and around yourself, to cause a wave of blood to flow from the sword. Then, you can do one of two things. Hope the wave drowns the opponent, ride the wave into the air, or use it as a decoy for a quick sneak attack.

Fourth Form: Twisted Tearing
This attack requires a running start, and your blade held in the center of your body upwards. Once you begin running, you will swing to the left upwards, to the right horizontally, to the right downwards, and to the left horizontally. While doing this, power your blade with your blood, and this will leave floating slashes in place of your swipes. Then, once the enemy is cornered, you will make a large X in front of you, and release the blood, causing it all to shoot forward and tear apart the opponent.

Fifth Form: Impaling Strike
This is three quick consecutive strikes, in the shape of a triangle, all of which throw out three small spikes of blood, which will implode on impact.

Sixth Form: Blood Bath
This is a defensive quick attack, that may save you from a strike or two. This requires complete stillness, and focus, as you hold your blade upward at your chest, the opposite of the second form. You will steady yourself perfectly, and flood your blade with blood before shoving it straight into the air. This will cause the blood to pour out the tip and fall around you, creating a spiked barrier.

Seventh Form: Crimson Blessing
This attack is similar to the fifth form of Breath of Water in the sense that it is a "sword strike of kindness" where the opponent does not feel any pain. It was created by Noa as a form of mercy killing for situations that involved a family member or a loved one turning into a demon. Unfortunately, this is only effective if the user is a marechi since it requires the use of one's blood to intoxicate the demon before striking. Before making the final strike the user floods the edge of their blade with blood and once that bit of blood enters the opponent's system it immediately dulls their senses so they would no longer feel the pain as they are being struck down.

Eighth Form: Cursed Clot
If injured, you can use this form to clog and harden your cuts, keeping you from bleeding out. This is not a form of attack, but it is a good way to keep yourself standing in and after a fight. This will also increase your adrenaline production, allowing you to increase your strength overall, and rejuvenate yourself in some form, even though you may be covered in cuts. With the adrenaline pumping through you, you will barely feel them.

Ninth Form: Impaling Immolation
This is the second part to the fifth form that Noa created to pair the two together. It is a powerful striking ability that could tear apart someone instantly. After having creating the three strikes and a triangle shape, instead of shooting out small spikes, hold them in place, and let them float there. Then step behind the triangle you made, and take a step back, and raise your blade to your shoulder. You will then charge up your blade with blood, as the triangle resonates with your blade. Place your blade directly in the middle of the triangle, and then dash forward, jumping through the triangle and holding your blade outwards forward. This will turn you into a large spinning drill of blood, and will allow you to tear your opponent up, and even follow them if you can sense them outside the drill.

Tenth Form: Bloody Surrender
This form is a large attack that consists of powerful blood whips. It requires you to mimic the second forms position, and hold your blade downwards near your chest. Then, you stab your blade into the ground, and flood your blood into the blade. This will cause your blood to begin to turn the dirt red and wilt the grass, before it would burst our of the ground in a 30 by 30 area of spiraling blood. Only use this as a last resort since it will drain you completely and take you out of the fight.

Weapon: before he became a hashira, he used a standard nichirin blade with a dark red handguard that is circular shaped with four slight indentations and a golden border. now he uses a second nichirin blade along with his own, which he acquired from his mentor right before he passed. the handguard of his mentor's blade is similar to his in terms of color but it is in the shape of a star. when his mentor used the blade it turned a crimson red, but now it turns obsidian black.

HEADCANONS

History:
― the son of a prostitute, ena hashimoto, working in the red light district who got pregnant after an encounter with one of her clients - he was a young nobleman who came by during his travels from university to home or vice versa. she never learned his name but he paid well. he stopped seeing her after she revealed that she was pregnant. she never told him that he could potentially be the father since she was a little unsure herself. she had other clients besides him plus she didn't expect him to do much about it and took it upon herself to raise her son.
― despite the father being someone she barely knows, ena absolutely loved her son and did everything she could to provide for him. they did not have much and their livelihood depended heavily on how many clients she had received but they at least had each other. she used to cuddle up with him and tell him bed time stories about anything and everything, such as the stars and constellations in the sky and the spirits and animals that dwell in the forest nearby, even the mouse that resided in their room had a story, but noa's favorite was always the ones about the brave warriors that slayed the evil creatures of the night.
― not long after he turned 5, a demon that was disguised as a client attacked them, injuring the both of them rather badly. this caused the demon to lose control since it was able to sense that noa is a marechi. they were briefly able to get away from it, but ena ended up hiding him since they were both too injured to continue running. once she had hidden him well enough, she gave him a small bag of wisteria to conceal his scent and then went to lure the demon away, eventually getting killed by it.
― unfortunately, noa had no where else to go after ena's death so he was forced to live out on the streets, surviving off pickpocketing and stealing.
― a little over a year after being left on his own, he met a man named kaen, who had rescued him from a group of men who were beating him up after he had stole some money from them. noa was badly injured and severely malnourished so kaen took it upon himself to care for him. he took him to a physician to get treated and bought him a week supply of food. unfortunately, kaen did not have a permanent residence since he was always on the move for a reason noa never learned the full details of, so he was unable to officially take him in, but he made sure to check on him often when he was in town.
― kaen taught noa how to fight and defend himself in case he ever needed to when he was not around. he was also the first one to introduce noa to the concept of total concentration breathing, and was very impressed when he saw how quickly noa was grasping everything he was teaching him.
― the times when kaen was away were rough but fortunately noa was not entirely alone since he had befriended sakura, the daughter of the owners of the brother his mother once worked at. she sometimes gave him food that she managed to smuggle out and occasionally would give him a spot to sleep for the night, which was a blessing during the winter. one day, sakura was snatched by some men and noa took it upon himself to rescue her despite kaen's instructions to stay put while he handled the situation. eventually, he found where they were keeping her and attacked them. with help from sakura the two were able to defeat the men much to kaen's bewilderment.
― when noa was about 8 years old, he met someone who would become one of the most important people (if not the most important person) to him later in his life. her name was isla and she was already a tsuguko to a hashira of the demon slayer corps. at this point noa was somewhat familiar with the secret organization since he had heard about it from kaen, who was a retired demon slayer. however, noa meeting isla was purely by chance. he did not notice her immediately when he singled out her mentor as a target to steal from since she was carrying around a basket of bread. his stealing/pickpocketing skills have improved a lot throughout the years, so this was going to be a piece of cake. little did he know that stealing from a hashira would prove to be much more difficult than stealing from anyone else. the next thing he knew he was caught by an extremely unhappy hashira, but before she could do anything about it, her tsuguko stepped in and deescalated the situation by offering the rest of the bread. feeling rather guilty, noa was going to reject it but then his stomach growled, which gave away how hungry he was. he hesitantly took the rest of the bread and thanked them before running off.
― one evening noa was out training with kaen in the woods nearby the red-light district. kaen was about call it a day since it was getting rather dark out when he suddenly picked up the scent of a demon that was not too far off. his concern immediately shifted towards noa who had a shallow cut on his arm due to a minor fall in the middle of training. it would only take a matter of time for the demon to pick up on his scent and possibly target him. to make matters worse this smelled like a very strong demon. before noa could sense that something was wrong, kaen told him to start heading back to the district without him since they were done with training and he needed to check something. noa tried to argue since he wanted to stick with kaen but was immediately rejected. upset and confused, noa started heading back but when he was about halfway there he decided to turn around and follow kaen. it took him a while to figure out what direction kaen went but eventually he was able to pick up clues that gave away where he had went. unfortunately, by the time he had found kaen, the man was mortally wounded and on his last breath. he lightly scolded noa for not listening to him but also thanked him for coming back so he could say goodbye, which was something he had always made sure to do whenever he had to go away.
― about a year and a half after this incident, noa met another hashira named touma, who he had also mistakenly tried to steal from only to be thwarted once again. touma was extremely impressed with how fast noa was and noticed how he already knew how to do total concentration breathing. he decided to take noa in, who was not too keen about it at first but with both sakura and kaen gone he no longer felt any ties to the district so eventually he agreed to go with touma. it did not take long for touma to make noa his tsuguko. his strength and skill was improving tremendously and he was willing to take on any challenge, refusing to give up until he has mastered it completely. the two became extremely close and with time noa began seeing touma as a father-figure.
― noa was shocked to see the same hashira and tsuguko he had encountered two years ago when touma introdiced him to them. and what shocked him even more was that the tsuguko, isla, seemed determined to become his friend. the hashira, aurai, on the other hand, did not seem too happy to see him and made sure to make his training extra difficult. unfortunately for noa, aurai and touma were good friends and did a lot of joint training and missions together so he was going to have to deal with her looming presence a lot. on the bright side, he had isla who was always looking out for him and was not turned off by his more brash and cynical outlook. the two became close, despite being an unlikely duo, and noa found himself always seeking out her presence, whether it was train, go on missions, or to simply hang out. he genuinely enjoyed being around her (even when he was being a bit of a sourpuss) and found her presence very comforting. to him, everything was okay as long as isla was there.
― all of those fun moments came to a screeching halt when touma died. a few months after turning 15, touma and noa were sent on a mission to scout an area that was rumored to be inhabited by a strong demon. all of the other slayers that the leader of the corps had sent never returned and he realized it was time to send in a hashira to see what was going on, noa was in a bad mood since touma had scolded him for his impulsiveness during their last mission right before they left, he did not understand why his mentor was so upset since the mission ended up being successful. eventually, the two made it to their destination and began scoping the area. it did not take long for them to suddenly become face to face with an upper moon, named asuka. noa, not realizing the full extent of an upper moon's blood art, immediately rushed to attack her before touma could stop him. a battle between the three ensued. touma ended up getting mortally wounded while trying to protect noa from one of asuka's strikes. it was a hopeless situation, the bleeding was too severe to be slowed down by one of his breath forms and asuka was still there. touma tried to convince noa get away and leave him be but noa would not listen. he was too distraught and in shock to move and was ready to die with touma. but asuka ended up sparing him, leaving him to sob and cradle his dying mentor.
― after touma's death, noa shut everyone out, including isla. he did not know how to process his grief and felt it was best to go numb. the only individuals he still interacted with was the team of demon slayers that touma had been training with his help. now that noa was the new blood pillar he was put in charge of them. they had gone on several missions together and everything seemed to be going well. one day, the leader of the corps sent them out to handle what appeared to be a group of demons wrecking havoc in a forested area. it was confirmed beforehand that none of the demons were demon moons, so noa and his team headed out, expecting another successful mission. once they arrived to where they needed to be, noa gave them orders to be on the lookout while he went ahead to scope the area. he encountered a few demons while he was out and discovered where the group's base was located. he went back to inform his team but by the time he got to them they had been wiped out by the very group they were supposed to handle. the demons may not have been demon moons but they had consumed enough humans to make themselves formidable opponents. noa watched in horror as they consumed his team. one of the demons finally noticed him and was about to attack him when he suddenly snapped. fury and hatred took over him and he slaughtered all of the demons singlehandedly. right when he was slicing off the head of the last demon, isla and aurai had arrived after receiving word that backup was needed. noa did not acknowledge their presence. he only stood there, trying to hold back the sob that was threatening to come out, before walking past them without a word.
― two years passed by and noa was still keeping his distance from everyone. he was afraid to get close with anyone only to lose them, like he did with his team, touma, kaen, and his mother. plus it gave him the space he needed to plot out a way to avenge touma. but another tragedy occurred that forced him to put his plans on the backburner. aurai, isla's mentor, had died. isla was forced to take her out after muzan had turned her into a demon. noa knew the pain she was going through and all those feelings and memories that he tried so hard to ignore came flooding back. he knew he could not leave her alone at a time like this and decided to reach out to her. he was not surprised when she ended up lashing out at him. she had every right to be angry at him so he stood his ground and listened to her yell and say whatever she felt she needed to say to let out all of these pent up emotions that she had been bottling up for so long. eventually, she wore herself out and collapsed into his arms out of exhaustion and grief. as he held her he apologized for everything, for pushing her away, for not being there for them, and for completely turning his back on everyone. and he stayed with her for as long as she needed him to.
― little by little he allowed himself to get close to isla again. it was not entirely the same as how it was when they were younger. he was still guarded and the extreme fear of losing her was practically eating him alive. this concern and fear only increased after isla lost her tsuguko, which was also a very hard blow for him. the grief made her more reckless on missions and noa found himself having to constantly make sure she did not do something that would get her in trouble or worse. touma's warnings about recklessness and impulsivity kept playing in his mind as he tried to find ways to help her ground herself.

❀ is a free spirit who's in love with life despite all of the evil in it. isla appreciates and is even enchanted by the little things/moments because she has grown to understand that time is limited.

style: breath of falling petals. unique to isla and her now deceased mentor, the former pillar. isla has modified the style since aurai passed in order to incorporate dance techniques to remember her by. it is very difficult to match her pace, and practically impossible to mimic her movements. the only person who was ever able to successfully do it was yua and that was after a brutal amount of training over the years.

first form: budding serenity ~ the user diagonally slices upward to the left before quickly rotating and diagonally slicing downward to the left (x motion).

second form: cleansing gusts ~ the user gracefully performs a pirouette while slashing their sword around their body, creating a whirlwind of flower petals that rips apart everything in its path.

third form: severed roots ~ the user swiftly and repeatedly slashes their sword at their target, hacking through each limb before finally decapitating them. their movements are so agile that opponents cannot even see their blade - only a blur as the user ravages their body.

fourth form: conscious flow ~ the user runs forward in a pattern that can almost be seen as a dance. this technique is best used when trying to eliminate distance between the user and a target that's been trying to evade them. flower petals are cultivated by every footstep of the user and stream toward the target in a cloud to disorient them. once the user gets close enough, they step behind their target and decapitate them.

fifth form: purifying whirlwind ~ the user leaps into the air to avoid their opponent's attack. they land on their target's shoulders for a brief moment and use the solid as a propellant to drive themselves further into the air with a flip. while upside down, the user swings their blade upward to release a powerful, circular torrent of wind.

sixth form: radiant leaves ~ the user twirls/rotates their blade in a circular motion while maintaining distance from their opponent. as the winds pick up speed, razor sharp leaves begin to gather and flow in the same direction of the sword. this is used as a protection technique since anything that attempts to pass this newly formed shield will be diced to pieces.

seventh form: spring bloom ~ the user will rotate their heel in a flash and launch themselves forward. they will then slice vertically from bottom to top.

eighth form: heaven's touch ~ this technique requires precise accuracy due to the fact that if the user miscalculates the location by even an inch, everything could go wrong. the user targets specific pressure points on their opponent's body with the handle of their sword. it creates a numbing effect in the areas that are struck and leaves their opponent immobilized. a light gust of wind settles over the opponent with the final slash of the user's sword and brings them peace in their final moments.

ninth form: withering life ~ the user swings their sword at a rapid but controlled pace, creating flower petals with every swipe. the petals circle themselves and form a dome that slowly constricts around the user's target. when the petals finally touch the opponent, they decay and release an overwhelming sense of burning agony on the affected area of skin. when the user is about to make their final slice, the petals travel toward the tip of the sword and follow its movements. once the sword makes physical contact, the victim will suffer the pain of the blade tearing through them and the decaying petals in combination.

weapon: isla wields a special sword that is extremely thin and flexible like a whip. she possesses the fastest techniques of the Hashira due to the strong suppleness of her blade, the softness of her muscles, and the mobility of her joints. due to the difficulty of wielding her sword, only she can use it. it was exclusively made to suit her mostly agility based attacks and take advantage of her natural physical gifts. the hand guard is shaped and colored like a fully bloomed white rose.

❀ grew up in poverty on the lower end of a mountain. her home wasn't too far from a red light district.
❀ isla's early childhood was bright and warm. her parents did everything that they could to make ends meet and ensure their children's happiness
❀ in order to provide a sense of normalcy and allow her daughters to be kids once in a while, amaryllis taught them different forms of dance. isla took the most interest in lyrical dancing which is why certain moves are incorporated in her breath style.
❀ isla's sense of wonder stems from all of the stories that her father reenacted for them before bed. he didn't believe in just 'telling' them. both isla and noir always got swept up in the tales and were often found outside playing 'hunt the monster.' their laughter filled the forest air while they used sticks as makeshift swords and got lost in their world of pretend.
❀ unfortunately, one day isla and noir stood out for too long after sunset. screams of agony erupted from the direction of their house. noir told isla to stay behind and hide while she went to see what was going on. isla could only listen to her sister's instructions for so long before her fear grew.
❀ when isla reached their house, her worst nightmare unfolded before her eyes. crimson blood pooled from the freshly serrated ends of noir's thighs as she feebly dragged herself away from the entrance. the dying girl's haunted eyes grew wide with fear once they focused on isla. noir parted her lips in an attempt to utter a warning, but all that was released was a splatter of blood when the demon's elongated claw impaled her through her spine. isla couldn't even manage to find her voice in order to scream. when she tried to move her trembling legs, they remained rooted to the ground.
❀ isla was brought back to reality when a bright white flash blinded her for a moment. flower petals fell gently on her shoulders and glistened in the moonlight. the light was replaced by smoke and ash as the demon dissolved slowly at a young woman's boots.
❀ the woman, aurai kiyama, was the falling petal pillar who had been assigned to patrol isla's home region. aurai didn't hesitate to take the five year old in after the incident and informally adopted her. aurai trained isla for two years afterward so that she could protect herself if anything happened again. the hashira realized isla's potential during this time and chose her to be her tsuguko when she turned seven. she was considered to be a child prodigy within the corps and other hashiras often called her 'little star.' isla secretly liked touma the best out of all of her mentor's friends and spent the most time with him and aurai.
❀ aurai used to bring isla on her patrols instead of leaving her behind because she thought it was safer for her to be by her side. one day, they were travelling through the red light district that resided near isla's old home. a boy that looked to be about eight years old attempted to steal half of a loaf of bread from aurai's basket. though he was sneaky, aurai picked up his scent with ease and caught him. before the pillar could reprimand him, isla tugged on her haori and looked at the boy with curiosity. she gave him a warm smile after a moment and gave him the rest of the bread in their basket, understanding that he needed it more than they did. little did they know, that wasn't the last they would ever see of him.
❀ one to two years after this incident, aurai's jaw dropped when she saw touma's new tsuguko - noa hashimoto. or, in other words, the little food thief. aurai never forgot a face and unfortunately for noa, he was not an exception. isla found the entire introduction to be quite amusing as she watched from the sidelines. from that point on, she usually needed to look after noa in a sense because it appeared that her mentor was trying to kill him with the intensity of her hand in his training.
❀ the pair quickly forged a close bond due to the amount of time they spent together, whether it had been training, missions, or just leisure. their endless confiding in each other led to them knowing things about the other that nobody else did. they were both very protective of each other, especially in battle. isla would never let anything touch noa.
❀ when isla was thirteen, the news that touma was killed tore her apart. her second father figure was ripped away from her and there was nothing that she could do to stop it. noa's sudden distance added to her grief and made her feel as if she was losing almost everyone at once. isla leaned on aurai for support and the two mourned the tragedy together. as she was dealing with everything, she tried to be understanding toward noa. she tried to accept his disappearance. she didn't want to be angry at him. though, isla's bitterness at her best friend rooted itself deep within her over the next two years.
❀ after touma died, isla found herself searching for comfort in other people. she had known kaede before they started dating and thought he was a decent guy but didn't realize that it was all a facade meant to lure her in. their extremely toxic relationship began when she was 13 and he was 15. he was possessive of her from the beginning and it only got worse from there, making isla feel like every day was a living hell as he belittled, manipulated, and tortured her.
❀ kaede accidentally got her pregnant when she was 14. trigger warning for physical abuse > when she told him, he took it upon himself to 'get rid of it,' resorting to violence on multiple occasions.
❀ isla never took time off from the corps, even after losing the baby. she used the missions she went on as a way to avoid thinking about the pain and took out her anger on any demon she faced with her team. chiasa, otherwise known as upper moon one, was among them. chiasa's strength was overwhelming and the group's large numbers were quickly diminished until there were only three of them left. isla was restrained by the upper moon with her sister, and kaede was plagued with the making the decision of who he wanted to live. clearly, he chose isla, and held this over her head every time she (in his mind) stepped out of line.

❀ on one of their regular patrols of the red light district, aurai picked up on a pungent scent and tracked it down while isla followed. when muzan's identity was revealed, he ruthlessly transformed aurai into a demon with his claws in order to give himself time to escape. despite what she knew about demons, isla wanted aurai to be different. she held her now demonic mentor off as she begged her to stop. she was desperate to find some sort of recognition in her fiery eyes, but when she was backed against the brick wall of the alleyway, she knew that aurai was gone. numbness overwhelmed isla as she fluidly sliced her sword through her mentor's neck to decapitate her. the fifteen year old slumped down to the floor with her head in her hands as the woman she admired and loved disintegrated before her.
❀ once noa heard about what happened, he finally reached out to isla. her anger and bitterness withered away into exhaustion after she exploded at him. she broke down in his arms when she couldn't yell any longer. the emotional walls that she had built up slowly crumbled around her.
❀ isla was appointed her first tsuguko at the age of seventeen but lost her to one of the upper demon moons not even two years afterward. isla was sent into a spiral when this happened; numbness overwhelmed her and she became reckless during missions. she just wanted to feel human again, and found herself chasing any experience that she thought would fulfill this desire. eventually, being with noa helped ground her and made her realize that she couldn't keep throwing her life away.

Forms: the forms of 'breath of crimson' are meant to cut down enemies and leave nothing in the user's wake, to such an extent that a few of the forms have the user moving their blade so quickly they leave only tiny chunks of their enemy after the form is complete.

first form, reddened haze: seiko begins to dash around her enemy at incredible speeds while unleashing high powered slashes to seamlessly slice through opponent's bodies and limbs, the goal being to leave them in tiny pieces.

second form, violent carmine: seiko sends herself forward, unleashing a maelstrom of slashes and strikes that are meant to completely shred an enemy into nothing. it's as if the enemy's body had been rubbed against a cheese grater, leaving only tiny shreds.

third form, scarlet ends: seiko takes a low stance before springing into the air; as she falls, seiko uses her blade to cut down defenses, leaving her enemy open. seiko then quickly shifts her position to face her enemy as she lands, immediately following with one high powered downwards slash.

fourth form, sanguine overkill: seiko stays in place, only to release a wide horizontal slash aimed to cut down any enemies around her, following this slash with an immediate cyclone of slashes to cut down enemies into tiny pieces.

fifth form, ruby blood: seiko sends herself forward before unleashing one high-powered downwards slash which is immediately followed by a harsh and quick overhead slash to cut down attacks coming from above. alternatively, seiko can follow the initial slash with a low slash to slice through enemies below her.

sixth form, bloodless surge: seiko launches forward with immense speed before starting to spin, similar to breath of water's ' water wheel ' techniques but in this form seiko comes to a sudden stop in front of her opponent, using her forward momentum to slash her blades through opponents.

seventh form, deep-red burn-out: seiko launches forward with immense speed, and as she rapidly approaches her enemy she unleashes a storm of high-powered and deep cutting slashes aimed to immediately cut down enemies.

Forms: sachiko has altered it slightly, so there are some parts of it that are unique to her
(which i will mention once i figure out which ones they were. so basically what i'm saying is please don't copy this to be used as the breath of the moon because parts of it were actually changed. if you plan to use breath of the moon, i ask that you look it up online)

first form, dark moon - evening palace: sachiko draws her sword and slashes swiftly in a single motion with numerous chaotic crescent-shaped blades originating from the slash.

second form, calamitous shine: sachiko unleashes two broad slashes that are layered on top of each before slashing once again around her body to cut down incoming threats. after doing so, sachiko will immediately begin to unleash a series of slashes which mimic that of tiny ripples of water, allowing sachi to safely move around her target.

third form, loathsome moon - chains: sachiko swings her sword rapidly in two crescent slashes, from which a storm of smaller crescents spread. this technique causes huge destruction in a small area.

fourth form, moon spirit calamitous eddy: sachiko makes multiple curved slashes layered over one another resembling a rising vortex. numerous chaotic blades originate from these slashes.

fifth form, perpetual night, lonely moon - incessant: sachiko releases a wild storm of slashes in multiple directions.

Power Restoration: her most defining trait as a demon is her ability to continuously restore her power, without consuming any human life as is the norm for most demons. instead, she recovers her strength through mere sleep.

Enhanced Regeneration: she possesses a tremendous regeneration ability that enables her to restore severed limbs within seconds. the true nature of this ability is solidifying her blood from her severed body parts that she can manipulate at will.

Demon Transformation: when she is in a dire situation, she can transform into a berserk-like state (reference below for what she looks like in this state). this form enhances her fighting ability, at the cost of her becoming more demon-like, including the need to feed on human blood. so far, the only way she can revert back to normal is to have someone sing her a lullaby (or by simply knocking her out). eventually, she will learn to control this form at will.

ninth form, nightfall sanctum: the user launches themselves into the air while slashing upwards, then twists their body as they fall towards the enemy while delivering a flurry of arced slashes. the user alternates between different levels of swinging strength so that some of their slashes create sharp gusts while some do not, as a way to disorient the enemy.

tenth form, silver nails of kamaitachi: the user dashes around the battlefield at high speed and rotates their body by 180-degrees as they swing their blade, alternating in between going clockwise and counterclockwise to create several crescent-shaped slashes. as the user does this, they analyze their situation and decide whether none, some, or all of their slashes will create sharp gusts to cover more area, and adjust the strength of their swings accordingly.

eleventh form, dark side of the moon - tsukuyomi's domain: the user manipulates the tempo of their body as they dash towards the enemy, performing a concentrated slash in some instances and dashing away in others. whenever the user moves away from the enemy, they leave behind an afterimage of themselves and then swing their blade at a distance to send a sharp gust towards the enemy. this continues until an opening is made available for the user to decapitate the enemy.

history:
☽ sakura was born in a red light district to two parents who owned a popular brothel.
☽ her early child was filled with nothing but pain. she was often abused by both of her parents to the point where she would constantly be left in a state covered in bruises and in immense pain.
☽ she learned very early on that the easiest way to avoid being hit was to not only avoid her parents but become basically invisible to them as well. this recognition is what led to sakura becoming mute for a vast majority of her life.
☽ sakura would often leave the brothel and around the town for hours on end just to avoid being around her parents and the disgusting patrons that found their way there for a good time. she never felt safe around any of the men would show their faces there and learnt early on to avoid them as well.
☽ one day while walking around town she came across a young boy only two years her senior. the boy reminded her of a feral stray cat and since she didn't know his name and couldn't ask him at the time due to not having anything on her to write with she branded him as 'kitty' in her head.
☽ despite him constantly telling her to leave him alone sakura felt drawn to the boy and would continuously visit him to the point where he simply got used to her showing up. eventually she found out that the boys name was noa. the two of them would communicate through a notebook that sakura would bring with her whenever she would go to visit him.
☽ eventually the two of them built a sibling like relationship and sakura looked up to him as a big brother. she would bring him food and would even sneak him into her room at nights when her parents were to busy to notice so that he wouldn't have to sleep outside in the cold.
☽ one night when sakura was six she woke to the sounds of screams. she scrambled out of her bed and went out into the hall to figure out what happened. there she was frozen in fear to see a demon standing there feasting on the lifeless bodies of her parents. at first the demon seemed to preoccupied to notice her there and she tried to use this as an escape way but the demon heard her and turned it's beady eye's in her direction.
☽ terrified sakura turned and ran for her life, the only thing on her mind was getting out and finding noa to make sure that he was alive. she successfully managed to get outside but the demon managed to gain on her. sakura in her disorientated state tripped and fell over on to the ground. however before the demon could finish her off a man appeared out of nowhere and killed the demon in a swift motion and sakura could do nothing but sit there and stare as the demon dissolved into ash right before her eyes.
☽ the man, daisuke hayashi, was the previous moonrise pillar who had been sent to her district to take care of the demon. daisuke had no hesitation when it came to taking sakura in and making her his adopted daughter, even giving him her his last name in the process. it had been a hassle bringing her in though because sakura had struggled against him for a while, wanting to get away to find noa instead of leaving. daisuke had caught on fairly quickly and the two of them went to see if they could find the boy with no such luck.
☽ presuming that he was dead sakura than willingly went with the man. due to her need to constantly be with him due to her separation anxiety daisuke had no choice but to train sakura so that she could properly protect herself while with him on missions. during this time he took notice of her photographic and insane strength and saw the potential in her and assigned her as his tsuguko. out of all of the hashira's sakura was the closest to daisuke and to touma, seeing both of the men as father figures.
☽ around two years after being taken in by daisuke, touma showed up with a familiar little boy. when sakura recognized noa she was ecstatic to see that her brother was alive and ran to the boy engulfing him into a hug.
☽ whenever she wasn't training with daisuke and he wasn't with isla and aurai, sakura would find noa to spend time with him to catch up on the two years that they had been apart.
☽ when she was thirteen all the hashira's had been called for an emergency meeting. sakura had sat patiently at home for daisuke to come home and when he did she saw the look of remorse in his eyes and her heart shattered. when told the news of touma's death sakura had made the first sound she had made since she was a toddler and it was a scream of pain. she immediately rushed out of the house in search of noa. when she eventually found him she was saddened to find him in the state that he was. she tried to console him but he simply pushed her away.
☽ despite being hurt herself she gave noa the space that he needed. it wasn't until isla's mentor died that he finally came back around. not completely but it was a lot better than what it had been. she had simply been happy to have her brother back.
☽ sakura was appointed as the moonrise hashira when she was eighteen years old. daisuke was on a solo mission when he had been taken down by a demon that had been made stronger by muzan. the news of daisuke's death broke sakura. she seemed to become a shell of the person she was for many months and has only recently started to become herself once more but is still working through her grief.

———–┊⁀➷ Poppy is the practitioner in this case and when she is a few feet away from a demon, she will move her right foot forward and turn 360 degrees swiftly as she leaps into the air, performing a whirlwind kick and upon landing performs a direct horizontal slash with her sword held in her left hand then continuing with another strike downwards with a spinning kick to the chest afterward. During this form, her first leap leaves a beautiful trail of ice crystals behind her, swirling around her body as she then lands and performs her slashes with her frozen blade.

———–┊⁀➷With the alternate version utilizing her tessen, she starts the form off in the same way with a 360-degree turn and whirlwind kick. However, the leap leads into her strike immediately while she is in the air, leaping high enough to turn her body slightly and spin downwards with her fans being brought down on the demons head rapidly before landing in a lower stance and cutting the demon's ankles swiftly before raising herself upwards to swiftly decapitate. As she leaps and spins, ice shaped flowers spin around her in a cyclone like formation as she slashed downwards constantly.

However, her feet will be facing away and her left hand will be using the demon's body as leverage. She then uses her right hand to swing her sword while in mid-air, thrusting into the demon's neck as she then lands behind them and slashes their neck off entirely. Her body is visually represented by a frozen angel before dispersing into water.

———–┊⁀➷With the tessen form of this, Poppy will dash swiftly to build up momentum, flowers of ice flowing around her as she brings herself to the floor mid-sprint and slides across the floor, slicing the demon's legs before raising her legs up swiftly in a combo, with one of her fans pointed upwards and slicing the demon's chin, snow swirling around her and rising upwards as the demon is decapitated from the weight of her strike.

She spins in a 360-degree turn with her blade going around and blocking attacks as she then raises her blade upwards, ceasing the spin where she can choose to proceed by performing an ariel and performing slashes in quick succession. While she is spinning at the start of the form, she is visualized as a spinning snowstorm that then dispersed upon the end of the spin.

———–┊⁀➷With her fans, Poppy will spin her tessen in front of her with her fingers to protect herself from any ranged attacks before leaping into the air, snowflakes spinning around her and twinkling as she spins downward and purposefully misses a downward attack in order to easily bring her other fan below and strike upwards and bringing both fans to slash horizontally and decapitate.

———–┊⁀➷With her tessen, Poppy performs several flips and turns and leaps to dodge attacks coming her way while still closing the distance on the enemy where she will then use their body as leverage as she runs upwards and leaps into the air and slashes downwards on their arms with swiftness, a large snowflake spinning above them and bursting in beautiful light as she decapitates the demon, sending out a freezing mist.

➳Mallory pushes off the ground with one foot and moves at an alarming speed, cutting her opponent. This form is versatile, allowing Mal to move as quickly and flexibly as she can to easily adapt it to her surroundings and intentions.

➳Mallory's weapon glows and sparks in this form creating a tail of bright yellow (almost white) light that resembles a shooting star as she moves. When slashing, the light of the sword cuts the enemy, thus giving the form its name.


•°✧《Second Form - Cascading Meteor Shower》✧°•
➳Mallory leaps into the air, descending down onto her target and releasing a seemingly endless series of heavy-hitting diagonal slashes until her opponent is heavily weakened or killed.

➳Like its title, the form appears as a meteor shower raining down harshly on the opponent, each one bathed in light as Mallory slashes her sword.


•°✧《Third Form - Nebula Lapse》✧°•
➳Using flexibility, Mallory twists her body and sword to create 5 consecutive slashes that flow and weave onto her target.

➳Alternate: Nebula Lapse - Tenfold. Instead of 5 slashes, Mallory doubles the proportion, effectively entangling the opponent.

➳The slashes appear as rings of sparkling multi-colored light, similar to nebulae (star colonies), that surround and crash into the opponent, the light dissolving into small specks afterward.


•°✧《Fourth Form - Midnight Illusions》✧°•
➳A form known for its speed, Mallory moves at a blurring pace, her sword shining and creating after-images of herself that create the illusion that Mal has cloned. Surrounding the opponent, the illusions will attack from all sides and confuse the enemy before Mallory reveals herself at the last second, attacking and making it nearly impossible for them to block. This move can also be used to make an escape.

➳Mallory is bathed in a light emitted by her blade as she moves incredibly swiftly, which creates after-images described as illusions of Mal cloning themselves and multiplying, which disappears when she makes her final attack.


•°✧《Fifth Form - Stardust Oblivion》✧°•
➳A defensive tactic as Mallory twirls her sword in all directions, creating whirling slashes that spin outwards, blocking any attacks while focusing and building up energy for her next attack.

➳Alternate: Stardust Oblivion - Mercy. Used to relieve the opponent of their misery and give them a more comforting death by rotating one's sword from above, surrounding the enemy with a swirling slash that envelops them.

➳Particles of light are emitted from the slashes as they twirl and spin, showering both the user and enemy. The alternative form surrounds the enemy with a twisting ribbon of sparkling light that dissolves into smaller particles of light showering down. It's been described as stardust that showers the enemy in light to create a comforting and warm death, free of pain or misery.


•°✧《Sixth Form - Polar Compass》✧°•
➳Requiring much focus, Mallory concentrates on her opponent and makes calculated, sharp stabs at their weak points. Its effectiveness can still be used in small spaces.

➳Mallory views their opponent as an outline, spots of light emitting from their weak points, and creating a map-like guide for her.


•°✧《Seventh Form - Dance of the Constellations》✧°•
➳Mallory moves with elegant yet quick footwork, her sword swinging in a fashion that appears to connect each attack and movement with the next, mimicking the formations of constellations. This form is used best to injure or kill multiple opponents, or to cover a large area in a short time.

➳With each slash, Mal's movements will form a gentle ribbon of starlight that connects each swing with the next, mimicking a map of constellations.


•°✧《Eighth Form - Radiant Supernova》✧°•
➳Mallory runs at her target from a distance, continuously swinging her sword to build up both momentum and strength in her body with each rotation. Speeding as she goes, the blade will begin to heat up before being unleashed in an X-shaped slash at the opponent. As a result of the heated blade, any wounds inflicted will be cauterized, slowing down any regeneration.

➳Alternate: Scorching Supernova. This technique uses a combination of the speed and flexibility of the first form and combines it with the building strength of the eighth form. After charging up her speed and strength, Mallory unleashes the scorching blade by descending onto the target, twisting her body to create a 360° slash.

➳With each rotation, the sword will take on a glowing red and orange color, creating a violent light that leaves sparks as it goes, almost like a firework or sparkler. Once at full charge, the light will flare, unleashing once Mallory attacks and creating a large blast of light in the shape of an X. In the alternative, the final attack is a large twisting circle of light, sparks flying from it. When it was used by Mallory, it was powerful enough to push back and heavily injure an Upper Moon and their clones.


•°✧《Ninth Form - Tranquil Fields, Final Stargaze》✧°•
➳Mallory cuts her opponent's neck in a sweeping motion that has been described to be as light and quick as a summer breeze. It was created to be a more peaceful and merciful way for the opponent to die if they were to surrender themselves.

➳The blade leaves behind a trail of glittering stardust as it cuts, the opponent left to die in peace. The last thing they see and feel before they die is the vision of a grassy field at night, the glittering yet distant stars above them, a gentle summer breeze, and a shooting star, one of a hopeful future beyond death.


•°✧《Tenth Form - Starlit Eyes of Divination》✧°•
➳The technique requires all of the focus and accuracy of Mallory as her vision's focus is raised to levels of which she can even predict incoming attacks and move at a speed that is imperceptible. It can be used with both eyes or only one; however, the form is highly dangerous as it strains Mallory's eyes and could possibly make blood vessels rupture and burn, and cause partial or complete blindness to the eyes, and it can also drain Mallory's energy drastically.

➳Mallory's eyes appear to flicker and spark with light, similar to stars. A glowing compass star is seen within them, the veins of the eye rising due to the strain. Mal can see the light within living beings and read them, using it to predict movements and actions.

Description:
Anju hails from Hokkaido, which has always marched to the beat of its own drummers (at times literally), and its people cling tightly to their old ways. The Kaneshiro family is one such. A renowned clan of Demon Slayers, they have evolved their own demon-fighting practices. This shows in their hereditary martial art, the Dragon-Subduing Blade, referred to as the Breath of the Dragon in Slayer circles.
Anju is in some ways your typical dosanko - outgoing and hospitable, but tough as nails when it comes down to it. She's an only child and hence the sole inheritor of the Kaneshiro heritage in her generation. She's quietly but fiercely proud of that legacy and will fight to protect it. She's declared that, when she gets married, her husband will have to marry into her family and take their surname. In the same spirit, she has worked hard since she was a child to master the family style.
While she is fiercely proud of her abilities as a warrior, she does have a softer side to her. Both in and out of combat, she is always concerned for the welfare of those around her - she'll try to protect both civilians and other Slayers. In more peaceful situations, she can often be found in the kitchen making vast quantities of food and snacks for everyone, including herself. An extension of the First Blade, this attack releases all the stored power in a single blazingly quick attack, moving faster than the eye can track.
Third Blade - The Dragon Soars through the Heavens
Jumping high into the air, Anju forces her opponent to reveal their defences before striking.
Fourth Blade - Leaping into the Abyss
Once the opponent's weaknesses are revealed, Anju can deliver an all-out blow to attack those very points of vulnerability.
Fifth Blade - Twin Dragons Fetch Water
A feinting maneouver, this allows Anju to appear as though she is attacking from one direction when she is actually striking from another. It often involves changing the hilt length of Tatsugiri to deceive the opponent as to the range of Anju's attacks.
Sixth Blade - Proud Dragon Shows Remorse
This is a flurry of rapid attacks from all directions and angles, aimed at different targets on the opponent in order to make them shrink and cringe.
Seventh Blade - Heavenly Dragon Waves its Tail
The ultimate attack in the Breath of the Dragon comes as the culmination of the flurry of the Sixth Blade. Once the opponent has been cornered, Anju takes distance and invokes the First Blade, causing unbearable tension in her opponent as they anticipate the coming strike. She leaps as in the Fourth Blade, but appears to be too far away to strike, so they imagine that she is putting on a display or preparing to charge - but she extends Tatsugiri to its full length and slides her hands down almost to its very end, giving her a long striking range and incredible leverage and power.
Weapon: Tatsugiri, the Dragon Cutter. A crimson-bladed katana with its name etched into its tsuba (handguard) along with a carving of a writhing dragon. On command, its tsuka (hilt) can extend to as long as two meters, giving its wielder the option of wielding it as a nagimaki or even naginata. Its blade remains identical throughout.

Enhanced Vision - Anju's sight is not merely sharp, it is acutely tuned to weaknesses and tells in her opponents. She can spot the tell-tale signs of how someone shifts their weight or tenses their muscles prior to moving or attacking, and she can discern whether they are favouring an injury or weakness. Description: Shuto is very morally driven and zealous. He believes in justice and has an ultimate goal of world peace. However, he understands completely that peace cannot be obtained without initial violence. He is a firm follower of chivalry, swordsmanship, and the strength of duty. He will do anything - even if he doesn't want to - if he is bound by duty to do so. He isn't fond of killing others, but if he is provoked in any way, he will do it without hesitation. He gets along well with others, and can be rather easygoing and laid back when he isn't on a mission. He is very responsible and protective, with a bad habit of risking his life to protect others and shrugging it off afterwards. He is also easily annoyed by rudeness lack of manners, and often acts on his annoyance by lashing out at others.

BREATH STYLE

Style: Self-Taught, Breath of Sleet: Sleet can progress into two different forms; It can either melt down into pure water, or freeze into ice. After realizing this during his time travelling the seas, Shuto developed his own breathing style: Breath of Sleet. This breathing style utilizes two different forms: Water, which is offensive, and Ice, which is defensive. Because of this, every attack also has a defensive variant.
Forms:

First Form: Shallow Strike - The swordsman focuses their energy into a single, concentrated slash.
First Form Ice Variant: Snow Slide - The swordsman blocks the incoming attack, and uses the block to parry into a Shallow Strike.


Second Form: Rising Tide - The swordsman moves erratically, gaining speed as they move and attacking whenever they see an opening. Used to weaken stronger opponents by forcing them to bleed.
Second Form Ice Variant: Black Ice - The swordsman blocks an oncoming assault, but also moves erratically while defending. This is to tire the opponent out by forcing them to move while they attack, consuming double the energy.


Third Form: Drown - The most difficult Sleet Breathing technique to use. The swordsman focuses directly on the weakest point of the enemy (Humans being their heart, Demons being their necks), and delivers a powerful thrust/slash to that area. Meant to be a quick finisher.
Third Form Ice Variant: Shield of Ice - The swordsman holds their sword to protect both their heart and their head, preventing an instant death.


Fourth Form: Heart of the Sea - The swordsman allows their natural instincts to kick in, and they attack in an unpredictable, animalistic way.
Fourth Form Ice Variant: Cyrotherapy - The swordsman focuses their breathing onto themselves, using the technique to speed up the healing process of sprains, clot bleeding wounds, and numb the pain of broken bones. Cryotherapy does not completely heal the swordsman, but it can be used to reduce the effects of lethal wounds and allow the swordsman to perform a final, last resort attack.


Fifth Form: Riptide - The swordsman unleashes a relentless assault on the enemy, increasing the momentum in their strikes and delivering faster, stronger, and more precise blows the longer the attack is carried out. Used to break through defense and make openings.
Fifth Form Ice Variant: Glacier Armor - The swordsman concentrates all of their energy into defense, blocking as many attacks as they can. Used against large-scale or rapid attacks. A type of near-perfect defense


Hidden Sixth Form: The Trench at the Seabed - The swordsman forces their opponent into a long-term striking match, unleashing a seemingly never-ending assault powerful enough to do damage, but suspiciously easy to block and parry. This is the swordsman's trick. Once enough time passes, the opponent will notice that their skin is beginning to turn blue and feel numb, and that they will have an extremely difficult time breathing. Despite the swordsman's attacks being easy to avoid, the opponent will realize that they were in a full-scale hitting match for a long period of time, focusing more on attacking and defending than breathing. They were forced into cyanosis by the swordsman, who has "dragged them to the trench at the seabed". To put it simply, the swordsman has simulated drowning the opponent, and the opponent will be extremely fatigued if the assault works the way it was intended to.
Hidden Sixth Form, Ice Variant: Blizzard - Much like the calm but ferocious falling of snow during a blizzard, the swordsman strikes their sword downward against their opponent's blade/weapon hard enough to temporarily force it into the ground if it is a sword, or cut it off if it is an enemy's hand/limb. While the opponent is preparing to attack, the swordsman prepares an extremely slow downward slash. The opponent will generally believe that they can kill the swordsman while they are wide open, and move in faster. It is then that the swordsman slams their blade down.



Weapon: Shuto uses a standard nichirin Ōdachi with a blueish-gray ito wrap and a handguard truly fit for a man of the sea.

PARENTS; Goro Ran (Father), Aoi Ran (Mother, Deceased); Shuto's mother succumbed to pneumonia weeks after giving birth to him, and he was raised solely by his father, who often carried him on his back while he worked as a fisherman. History
Hailing from Okinawa, Shuto was born shortly before his mother fell to pneumonia, so he was raised solely by his father, who was a fisherman. Because he was a single father, Shuto's father often carried him on his back while he worked until Shuto was old enough to walk and help on the boat. Because it typically rained a lot at sea, Shuto developed a great balance and sense of touch, and developed his body and endurance in harsh climates since he was very young. When Shuto was about 13, they were attacked by a demon in the middle of the ocean. Shuto, who had learned some swordsmanship as he grew older, had to hold the demon at bay on his own until the sun came up. No matter how many times he decapitated the demon, it would keep coming back for more. Because he had learned that demons were real then, he joined the Demon Slayer Corps in order to prevent others from having to go through the same traumatic situation he did.

Description: Minai stands at an average height of 5'9, with blue hair, golden eyes, and an eyepatch covering his left eye. He has a slightly toned figure. He wears the demon slayer corps uniform of the slayer he killed, along with their pink haori.

Minai's hair was originally a dark blue, but it lightened once he became a demon. His eyes were also brown before he became a demon. When he is in his last resort mode, his skin becomes a bright white, and he gets light blue markings all over his body. His missing eye emits the diffused blood of whatever plant he eats, and can be pin-pointed as the main source of his Blood Demon Art.

PERSONALITY

Description: Minai is a sadistic, twisted liar who loves "toying" with his victims, often killing or injuring them or their loved ones and letting them live, so that they continue to come back stronger and stronger until they are "tender" enough for him to enjoy eating them. He seems to have a malicious obsession with "tenderizing" his food by making them suffer time and time again until they are at their full strength, which is when he kills them and eats them. Because of his tendency to wait to eat his food, he usually goes weeks without eating humans. One of Minai's favorite pastimes is pretending to be a Demon Slayer, wearing the uniform of some slayer he killed and using their nichirin blade to team up with others and pretend to be their friend, betraying them whenever he feels like it. Minai has no regard for other demons, and will kill them with his nichirin blade without hesitation if it means preserving his human image, or if they get in his way. When pretending to be a human, he is kind, rational and helpful. He claims to be a user of his self taught style, "Plant Breathing", and after studying demon slayers for so long, he has perfected his "Plant Breathing" to the best of his ability.

BLOOD ART

Description:

Mind-Altering Blood Diffusion - Minai has the ability to diffuse his own blood into a light, inhaleable mist. This mist has an exceptional range, that can stay in a small, controlled area, or influence an entire small town if Minai desires. Depending on what plant Minai eats beforehand, his blood demon art can yield different effects.

Chamomile - Sleep: When inhaled, humans typically become very drowsy, or fall into a deep sleep. This is Minai's most common technique, as it allows him to kill his enemies while they sleep.


Saffron - Pheromone: Minai finds this one the most interesting. Who knew that sex was something most humans couldn't live without? If Minai's Pheromone Blood Demon Art is inhaled, victims typically within their teenage and adult years will (usually) be slowly overtaken by a strong, growing desire for pleasure. However, the pheromone does not alter their morals, so victims are usually left conflicted and confused. In most cases, normal humans will either act on their urges, or become temporarily confused. For demon hunters who use breathing techniques, this technique will usually just serve as a distraction during battle.


Aconite/Wolf's Bane - Poison: When inhaled, a strong burning sensation can be felt throughout the body. The poison works fast, but can easily be filtered out by using breathing techniques.


Heartbreak Grass - Paralysis: Inhaling this mist will slowly, temporarily paralyze humans. The only way to combat this paralysis is by drinking water.


Wisteria - Last Resort Move: After consuming Wisteria, Minai inhales the diffused blood himself, and gains a powerup that enhances his speed, strength, and reaction speed. What was once a sly, cunning demon would now become a powerful, murderous one, at the cost of his life once the powerup wears off. Because using this powerup will kill him, he has decided to save it for a dire situation.

WEAPON; A standard Nichirin Katana with a pink ito wrap. He uses "Plant Breathing", a fake Breathing Style that he made up after studying demon slayers while working with them.

"Plant Breathing" First Form: Thorned Rose - The swordsman unleashes a fast flurry of slashes towards close opponents.
"Plant Breathing" Second Form: Venus Fly Trap - The swordsman slams his sword downwards, similar to a venus fly trap closing it's mouth
"Plant Breathing" Third Form: Lengthy Vine - The swordsman uses their speed and agility to leap either horizontally or vertically, and deliver a heavy blow quickly.

History
Minai was originally the very cheerful Naoyuki Ai, who lived with his mother and father happily. One day, when he was around 13, Naoyuki wandered too far into the woods, and encountered a demon, who immediately tried to kill him. He was saved by his mother and father, in exchange for their lives. They were killed in front of him, and the demon who did it, who happened to be a lower moon, offered to make Naoyuki a demon, in exchange for Naoyuki hunting food for him. Naoyuki agreed, and while he still had some humanity left after his transformation, he quickly killed the demon who killed his parents using the sword he took off the corpse of the demon slayer he had killed. As he continued to hunt for his food, Naoyuki's mind deteriorated and became more and more twisted, and he soon became Minai, abandoning his humanity altogether.

Description:
Yukine is extremely short-tempered and aggressive, often trying to instigate fights just for a quick thrill, or easily being provoked into fighting to protect his pride. He absolutely refuses to accept defeat, and will fight until the end if it means winning. He can be considered to be very primitive, often described as "eating like a savage" and being notorious for having such a foul mouth for his age. Despite his personality, Yukine is very protective towards humans and other demon slayers, and often risks letting demons escape or recover in order to protect others. He has a tendency to demand praise, and constantly overestimates himself, often referring to himself as a "God among men" or a "King".

He hates being insulted, teased, and made fun of, and will often challenge people to fight him if they do so, or simply attack unprovoked if nobody is there to stop him (he is extremely self conscious about his height). He also has an extremely strong hatred for demons, and has a habit of dropping whatever he's doing to kill one.

Style: Breath of Cyclones: Derived from the Breath of Wind, Yukine developed the breath of cyclone in order to support his smaller, more agile stature. The Breath of Cyclones prioritizes two specific things; Speed, and Twisting Motion.
Forms:

First Disaster: Storm Rush - The swordsman launches towards his opponent at shocking speed, twisting their entire body in a circular motion to boost their striking power and make their attack less predictable, and slashes their opponent.


Second Disaster: Headwind Flurry - The swordsman launches a violent flurry of wind at their opponent by producing powerful slashes, rushing in as they do so.


Third Disaster: Deadly Squall - Utilizing their speed, the swordsman quickly bounces off of multiple surfaces around the opponent at terrifying speeds, slashing powerful blades of wind in their direction as they do so. After doing this for a while, the Third Disaster can be chained into a first disaster, ending the squall with a head-on attack.


Fourth Disaster: Jagged Whirlwind - The swordsman slashes in all directions, also creating powerful gusts of wind as they do so.


Fifth Disaster: Turbulence - The swordsman launches themselves into the air, and slashes downwards as they fall, creating a ground-shaking plume of wind.


Sixth Disaster: Defensive Drift - A defensive technique, the swordsman holds their sword out directly in front of them and spins at high speeds, keeping any threat away from them.


Seventh Disaster: Gale Drill - The swordsman launches towards their opponent, and carves at their entire body as they move past them, often slicing their arms, torso, and legs before they can even realize what happened.


Eighth Disaster: Serrated Cyclone - The hardest technique to use. The swordsman spins at blinding speed, resembling a cyclone, while charging at their opponent and slashing in all directions. A very destructive, yet difficult attack to pull off, and a very hard attack to counter.


Ninth Disaster: Certain Death - The swordsman once again bounces from surface to surface like a super ball, but abruptly launches themselves towards the opponent at alarming speed, aiming directly for their head.


Tenth Disaster: Torturous Tailwind - A stupid, but surprisingly effective mind technique. The swordsman holds their breath, and does not allow themselves to breathe again until they have landed a good blow. This forces the mind and body to temporarily improve, allowing the swordsman to unleash powerful chain attacks out of desperation to breathe. If carried out for too long, the swordsman may pass out.

Weapon: Yukine uses a unique Nichirin blade, with a slight bend near the hilt. The back of his katana is also serrated, so that he can saw through enemies if he has to. This makes it much easier for him to cut through tough opponents, and weapons. He also wields a small, serrated nichirin Tantō so that he can dual wield if needed. His sword has an inscription that roughly reads "Rip up Demons".

PARENTS; Yukio Fujita (Father), Mina Fujita (Mother); Yukine respects his parents, but is very distant from them. In order to protect them from being targeted by demons, he has cut all ties from them, and treats them as if they don't exist.

History
Yukine lived a normal life with his mother, father, and his twin sister, Hina. Yukine and Hina did everything together, and were practically best friends. As the older twin (by 11 minutes), Yukine entrusted himself with the responsibility of protecting his sister. However, when they were both 11, Yukine and Hina went to a nearby village to buy some fruit. Yukine lost sight of Hina, and while he was searching for her, he stumbled into a dark alley, where he saw his sister's lifeless, teary-eyed corpse being eaten whole by two demons. Paralyzed by shock, he sat there and watched as they reduced his sister to bones. The only time he had the mind to run was when they noticed him, and approached him. Yukine became a demon slayer shortly after his sister's death, and he vowed to prevent anybody from having to see their loved ones die to demons to the best of his ability. Yukine still remembers the faces of the two demons, and vows to capture and torture them both for all of eternity once he gets his hands on them.

BREATH STYLE

Style: breath of hades࿐ྂ
Forms: each form is based on the nine circles of hell. while preparing to attack yukio's blades heat up, comparing to the heat of hell itself. this makes each slash and hit with the weapon extremely painful. the form mainly focuses on causing the opponent more pain than necessary and immobilizing them. this breath style can be very risky for him, however, as it can result in burns on his skin- mainly on yukio's arms and legs.

first form, limbo: yukio uses his kusarigama's chains to entangle the opponent's weapon, ripping it from their grasp before jumping upward and landing a downwards slash on the opponent.

second form, lust: yukio backs up a great distance and waits for the opponent to strike at them before swinging the weighted end of the chain at his opponent. a lot of force is used in this form and is often able to the opponent before pouncing on their back with great speed and stabbing the blade of the kusarigama down the opponent's spine, the heated blade burning through their flesh all the way down.

third form, gluttony: yukio slashes several times at the opponent's stomach in quick succession before landing a blow at their face with the weighted end of the chain.

fourth form, greed: yukio will sprint towards his opponent holding both ends of the kusarigama and rapidly spin as he makes contact, both ends of the kusarigama beating away at his opponent. this form can be risky but it is often very effective.

fifth form, anger: yukio's skin starts to heat up as his agility increases significantly. he then races at his opponent and jumps forward, swiftly decapitating the opponent with a spin attack.

sixth form, heresy: yukio rushes at his opponent holding on kusarigama in each hand as the blades start to set ablaze, before driving both into his opponent with great force.

seventh form, violence: in this form, yukio pushes his breath styles limits. his skin begins to heat up similar to that of his blade, before rushing his opponent and tackling them. he wraps his arms around his opponent's neck with the blade of the kusarigama to their neck and then brutally decapitates his opponent.

eighth form, fraud: yukio waits for the opponent to attack him, pretending to take a hit and acting as though they are about to fall over before jumping into the hair and crashing down onto his opponent. yukio pins them to the ground before jabbing the bladed end of his kusarigama deep into his opponent, letting it burn away at their skin and putting them through excruciating pain before pulling it out and repeating the process. eventually, he decapitates the opponent, but not before he basically tortures them.

ninth form, treachery: yukio swings the chain at the opponent as if he were about to attack in the front before leaping over his opponent and attacking them from behind, not giving them any time to prepare for the strike.

third form, rising fluff: mikumo unleashes an ascending slash to strike his target, immediately following that with two more slashes to strike his opponent's limbs.

fourth form, dashing kicks: this form is centered around movement and has mikumo utilize kicking motions to launch himself off of the ground and all around his environment, allowing him to easily gain the upper hand.

fifth form, guardian ears - surrounding strike: mikumo unleashes two slashes around himself aiming to form a quick defensive barrier that allows him to guard himself against incoming attacks.

sixth form, constricting hops: mikumo backflips above his target, unleashing multiple slashes to strike his opponent's neck from different angles; this makes it much more difficult for an opponent to avoid decapitation.

seventh form, bunny rabbit's spirit: mikumo leaps toward his opponent, thrusting his weapon into their target before unleashing slashes that expand outwards. this allows mikumo to free his weapon whilst also tearing up his opponent.

eighth form, secondary leap: mikumo lunges towards his opponent before unleashing a horizontal slash in front of himself, aiming to cleave their opponent in half with one swift motion.

ninth form, usagi: being named after the word for 'rabbit' in japanese, in this form mikumo will begin to leap around his opponent, utilizing quick and rapid kicks to launch off of surfaces all around him while also unleashing numerous curving slashes to strike the opponents while moving. this form is quite useful for overpowering an opponent through sheer strength and speed.
