Blue listened once more to Black and Champagne as he typed away at the laptop before him, his fingers a blur as he sought the information which he needed. Various tabs displayed numerous bits of information, along with a map of the surrounding area. He got a quick idea of the location of the nearest military installations, a general view of the grounds around the Empire State building, and he spent some time browsing through twitter feeds and newly uploaded videos on youtube which pertained to the Empire State building. It seemed the world was in an uproar, and currently all eyes seemed to be on them. Social media was amazing, and it allowed for eyes and information to be found in locations which at one point wasn't quite as readily available. They lived in an age where people were, unknowingly, spies in key locations.
He re watched a vid of a vacationing group of people who had been checking out the Empire State building from nearby, catching footage of the choppers which had flown in close to the building. Thinking it odd, they had recorded the occurrence, not knowing what would soon happen. After the incident had occurred, they had been smart enough to upload the video which was already garnering a massive amount of views. So too were other video's with similar content. Blue mused to himself over the size of the choppers, and why they were allowed into controlled airspace, especially Manhattan, without being intercepted and redirected to the local airport. The thought soon left his mind as he noticed another video which had just been uploaded from an office worker from a smart phone. The video was jerky as hell, but showed a group of men rushing into the building before the vid abruptly turned to a high panicked rush as the worker fled. There were a lot more than eight terrorists. And a glimpse of heavy weaponry unnerved Blue. No, this wouldn't be an easy thing to overcome.
"There's probably more than eight, 'Pagne," Blue finally said to Champagne, calling him "Payne" since Champagne was a rather annoying word to him. Besides, Payne sounded cooler. He turned to laptop to the dark skinned male, replaying the video from the beginning. "There's also reports of gunshots being heard from the top of the tower by other eyewitnesses and...." Blue turned his gaze to the t.v., then shook his head. "Seems the news choppers are catching more footage of hostages already being killed. Which pretty much brings the "Save everyone" idea to a moot point." He gestured towards the t.v., before turning the laptop once more around to face him. Bringing another tab, he quickly thumbed the mouse-pad to bring up more information which he was seeking.
"Time is currently against us, this guy is killing hostages, and we really don't have the time to go spending thirty minutes wandering around, lost in the sewers twenty feet underground, only to come up into the restrooms and enter the lobby anyways. Then we have the issue of dealing with whether or not we should use the elevator or the stairs. Considering, both are death traps to be honest." He wasn't even aware that the elevators were out of commission anyways. "Besides, currently we're unaware of the location of the group, though there are reports that part of them are holed up near the top of the building anyways. We simply don't have enough time to go wandering through the sewers, then climbing up an untold amount of stairways to get up the over one hundred floors of the building. By the time we did arrive, the terrorists would probably be eating a hearty dinner after having killed half of the hostages."
Blue was getting tired of having to explain all this. Turning the laptop to the others once more, he gestured towards a satellite view of the streets around the Empire State Building. "There's some construction going on for the outside of the building, giving us some scaffolding to scale. The Davit can take us to the top level swiftly and silently. Considering the sheer amount of snipers that have no doubt taken up positions around the building, the Terrorists would be fools to risk their necks sticking their heads out the window. The Davit is a safe route for us. However, for all we know, the sewer level could be crawling with terrorists. That's their only other way in and out, considering that now the building is surrounded and both street and air traffic is being controlled and monitored. Going into the sewers could be a death trap, and all the same, could get us pinned down and waste even more time."
He glanced around at the rest gathered in the jet. Surely they could understand this. It was so basic, and if he had been a terrorist, is exactly what he would have done. Or rather, he'd have set up small explosive traps in the sewage tunnels to trap anyone who tried to come in that way. He'd also have ensured that the elevators were shut down in some manner or another, since any forces coming up would have to take the stairwell and simply get pinned down. The only other method would be to drop in troops from the sky, and the terrorists would be able to pick them off from their fortified position. No, they were sunk in deep.
"Once again, we need to split up in groups, but don't go throwing us all into the tunnels. It's sheer suicide, and a massive waste of time. We need to strike silently, but also quickly. I'm going to need four of you with me...." He looked among the other Projects. He had already pondered out the plan, but he still sought to meet eye contact with each of them. "For the covert team taking the Davit up to the upper levels, I need Orange, Black, White, and Green with me. We'll need those skill sets to take them by surprise and quickly subjugate them, and Green will prove invaluable in the case of any hostages being wounded." Besides, if she's with Brown, they'll be too busy looking out for each other to be effective. Better to split them up so that they fight harder to be back together once it's all said and done.
He glanced at the rest of them. "Once the Davit Team is in place, the Assault Team can move in to create a diversion. The Davit Team, after securing the location of the Hostages, can move in as soon as the Assault Team creates the diversion, giving them a moment to move in and take care of their tasks during the initial confusion. Red and Brown will be excellent for the Assault Team since they are nearly invulnerable to whatever gets thrown at them. 'Pagne can help manipulate the mental state of the opposition, Yellow can blind them, and Gray can take them down with metal projectiles, not to mention would prove excellent for diverting the course of any gunfire thrown their way. They also need to swiftly discover the location of the explosives which can only be placed strategically in one location; any lower level supports which help to reinforce the building's integrity. There's been enough movies with these things done, and besides, it's the tactic utilized by construction companies whenever they demolish large towers. Implosion. So the Assault Team can probably be split in two, one to seek out the explosives, and the other to sweep the floors of the building with the aid of Swat after the Davit Team has secured the Hostages."
Blue grit his teeth with a growing sign of irritation. They were running out of time. And besides, he had the growing sense of unease that this wasn't about money or making a statement. Hell, the Terrorists hadn't even made communication with any demands. And killing hostages outright showed that they weren't exactly holding out for demands. No, they were biding their time for something. Or someone. He felt like the someone was them. A Trap....
