"War. War never changes.

Since the dawn of human kind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything: from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage.

In the year 2077, after millennia of armed conflict, the destructive nature of man could sustain itself no longer. The world was plunged into an abyss of nuclear fire and radiation.

But it was not, as some had predicted, the end of the world. Instead, the apocalypse was simply the prologue to another bloody chapter of human history. For man had succeeded in destroying the world – but war, war never changes."

Welcome Wastelander, in case the title and intro weren't enough, yes, this is based in the Fallout universe. The game will be non canon and set in the good old Capital Wasteland, so while you are free to make up your own locations and such, the events of the third game never took place. Depending on the interest gauged and the dedication of our players we may at some point folly into other settings the series has graced; New California, Midwest, Texas, Mojave Wasteland and The Commonwealth. So, don't be put off if the Capital Wasteland wasn't your favorite setting or Fallout 3 isn't your first choice of game, I believe it is fair to say that it would be the one people would be most familiar with however, which is why we're using it in this game.

With that out of the way and hopefully understood, some rules for you to digest;

Rules
1. Use your common sense, please.

2. No meta-gaming. (Your character using OOC information that they have not learned by their own means, this includes having your character driven by out of character vendettas or goals in order for them to gain information).

3. No power-gaming. (When a player forces an action upon someone or something when either the action is illogical or the receiver is not given the ability to respond in any way. Also just being blatantly over-powered and withstanding injuries unrealistically).

4. While it is understood that this is a treacherously vile and mature role play setting, romance that extends into the territory of 'The Dirty Deed' should be kept out of the thread and brought to private messages. Mature role play is understood but sex or sexual interaction is not permitted in-game.

5. Your character's skills must be fitting for their age. No 17 year old doctors who can cure cancer with a spork and some Deathclaw fecal matter, ok? (Actually, has anyone tried that yet?)

6. You are NOT the Lone Wanderer, Chosen One, Courier Six or The Vault Dweller. When playing, think of yourself as that random NPC in the background, of course this does not mean you shouldn't have an in-depth background with roots and memories, you are welcome and encouraged to do so.

7. Include the phrase; <Excited beeping>, at the bottom of your character sheet so I know you read all these rules.

8. This is not a democracy, but the GMs appreciate and learn from your feedback.

9. Max characters per player; 2

Character Creation

Life & Death Gameplay.

The Capital Wasteland is a dangerous place and if you're not careful, you may find yourself paying dearly for your mistake. Death is a potential outcome for players and the result is permanent. However, this does not mean you cannot create another character for the role play (although it will have to go through the same acceptance process as if you're a new member before being played). Who dies and when is at the discretion of the GM or the person who created a certain character, all decisions are final and irreversible - keep that in mind folks.

Below you'll find the skeleton for beginning on your character(s) if you simply cannot wait for an OOC, you can post here or message me directly with any questions relating to the role play and characters. Happy gaming.

Skills*: Small guns, Sneak, Repair, survival
Brief History: Calling John's history interesting would be a gross, misleading lie. To be honest, there isn't much to say; born in Megaton he didn't quite feel safe living near an active nuclear bomb and crazed, religious fanatics worshiping it so he left as soon as he felt ripe to do so. With the limited number of safe areas in the capital wastes, he headed for Rivet City in the hopes of finding something he might feel worthy of pursuing, instead he found scared scavvers huddled in fear inside a rusted ship, surviving off of mirelurks from down below and irradiated water. All of it was disillusioning.

Something had to change, someone had to change it and despite, or perhaps because of, his youth, John felt that he could be the first one to start. He would cure the wastes of raiders, slavers, mutants, ferals and any other general threat one bullet at a time. His idealism almost got his stupid ass killed mere days after he stepped outside of Rivet City. Crawling back he spent every cap he had to get patched up, but his goals weren't changed one bit, mere his tactics did. Instead of taking on raiders head-on, he picks them off silently and from a distance, by the time they realise what's happening it had already happened. As long as there weren't too many, because that will get him killed right quick

Now he sneaks through the wastes, picking off small camps of raiders or the occasional wandering mutant, looting their possessions until he has a full pack before wandering back to the nearest settlement and either selling what he can't use for things he can or giving away all the food and drink that he can't carry to those that need it. By every measurement of the post-world he is a fool, an idiot and a dumb, naive, little kid, but he carries on anyway, risking his life for what seems to be a pointless and unattainable goal.

Occupation: often does jobs for People

Allegiance: none
Appearance:
IMG_0490.JPG
Skills: intimidation, gun nut, armorer, scrounger
History: he was born to a gunner family, and ever since he could remember, he was trained to kill. At the age of 6, his sister was born, but she didn't go through the same training as he did. At the age of 16, he already mastered a few combat forms, and tactics, making him a force to be reckoned with. He ran away with his sister vowing that no matter what, she stays alive. She was the only thing he really cared about ever.
At 24 during a gun fight he got wounded and they had to reatreat. Fearing for her brothers saftey she went out to find stimtaks. She didn't return so he went out looking for her, and he did, just what was left of her. A huge raider gang Beat her, cut her, mutilated her, then finally impaling her out side their camp for all to see. hanging lifeless, with a shocked expression, full of agony, he could tell she was alive through all this feeling every bit of pain. And out of all the things Sykes has been through, this ruined him. He slaughtered everyone, while wounded. He then impaled the once who surrendered, just to satisfy him. He took down his sister and carried her across the city, until finally burying her the place she loved to be. This scared him for life, as he thought that it was his fault for allowing himself to get shot, and because of that, it got his sister killed. And on that day he learned one thing, the wasteland doesn't care who you are, it will always break you somehow.
Over the years he gained a lot of scars, and he gained quite the reputation. His attitude is always serious. The only thing that keeps him going is the memories of him and his sister. He never wants to loose someone like that again, so he's rude, to many people so he won't get attached. His years in the wasteland, allowed him to gain the knowledge and skills to stay 10 steps ahead of the wasteland. He knows how to get out if a situation easily, and very skilled in combat.
