Welcome To Texas
War. War never changes.

Since the dawn of human kind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything: from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage.

In the year 2077, after millennia of armed conflict, the destructive nature of man could sustain itself no longer. The world was plunged into an abyss of nuclear fire and radiation.

But it was not, as some had predicted, the end of the world. Instead, the apocalypse was simply the prologue to another bloody chapter of human history. For man had succeeded in destroying the world - but war, war never changes.

In the early days, thousands were spared the horrors of the holocaust by taking refuge in enormous underground shelters, known as vaults. But when they emerged, they had only the hell of the wastes to greet them.

8 decades have passed since the sole survivor emerged from vault 111 to rescue his son, during his travels he has made a bit of a mark on the commonwealth of Boston, Far Harbor and Nuka-World.

None of his choices, left as much of an impact, as when he took over the commonwealth. His son, the former director passed the torch to him on his deathbed. The sole survivor accepted and led the entirety of the institute, and the commonwealth into an era of change. For better, or worse.

80 years after the events of the Boston commonwealth and the institute's rise to domination over the entire upper east coast, people have began to flee west to avoid their grasp. During this time the institute has surfaced and has begun to operate on the surface more often and have even taken to controlling settlements. They have rebuilt these settlements to their standards and slowly began to spread their designs and influence all over Boston and several other states. Their main area of control is now known as Oasis.

This sprawling safe haven stretches from Maine to Maryland and Pennsylvania, it is the pinnacle of advanced science and technologies. Several years into their reign, a scientist by the name of Dr. Bellamy began to work on a way to mass produce weapons, armor and any equipment out of recycled materials. He had finally succeed with the nano replicator. A device capable of replicating anything out of any materials put into it. Several blueprints could be placed into the terminal to make more things like much more advanced armor and weapons. This device is similar to the vending machines in Sierra Madre, almost identical even though The institute has only focused on rebuilding the entire north east to their image.

Several people fleeing from the institute along with their families have fled west, exposing themselves to greater dangers not found in the east. Among those who fled were any surviving rail road agents. Brotherhood of Steel knights and recon squads, the minute men and several raider clans. Most of them fled to New Vegas to avoid Caesar's Legion and the Mexican Cartels, but others decided to stay and help rebuild Texas. The Texas Brotherhood of Steel had been struggled for a while being pinned and assaulted by both the legion and the cartels, they have managed to regain some land after they decided to recruit ghouls, super mutants and deathclaws into their ranks. The wasteland's harshest haxards have become the backbone of the brotherhood, their new motto is "There ain't no tough, like Texas tough."

When the Institute began to take hold of the commonwealth, and beyond, the mercenary group know as the gunners and Talon Company, formed an alliance and merged into the now dreaded Wolf Pack Industries. Their old motto still stands, no job is too dangerous or depraved for this group of mercenaries. They relish in working as body guards and security for slavers, they even often assist their raiding parties, they also work as assassins and poachers. The Names and identities of their financial backers and founders is still unknown, but high ranking members have always been seen in the company of a slave trader, an eccentric and rich big game hunter, and any rich asshole with a crap ton of caps and a private building as his or her home.
Over the years they have upgraded their equipment, by killing institute coursers and raiding several abandoned military outposts. They have also acquired the process of creating and implementing ballistic polymer weave into their clothing, eliminating the need to continue wearing heavy and rather outdated armor.

Formed 60 years ago by former minutemen who fled west along with Preston Garvey, a diamond city reporter and her sister Piper and Natalie Wright. Acting as law enforcement for larger settlements and cities as well as a public militia, the patrol around the Republic of Texas with the sole purpose of keeping people safe. They are currently engaged in a never ending war against institute scouts and shock troopers, slaver raiding parties, raiders and any other dangers the people have to fear. They have formed a somewhat mutual alliance with the Texas B.O.S. to help keep the people of Texas free and safe. Their trademark weapons are primarily, repeater rifles and revolvers, but they have began to expand their arsenal for better efficiency. The process of implementing ballistic polymer weave has become rather common knowledge these days, it helps make ordinary clothing bulletproof however the materials needed to create it are rather rare so the process is only for those who genuinely need it.

The Brotherhood of steel has always been seen as a quasi religions group, their ultimate goal has somehow differed depending on their surroundings. They have always made it clear that they intend to collect and preserve pre-war technology and keep it for themselves, those on the east coast as well as in Alaska have always desired to eliminate anything non human. However, Texas is a harsh unforgiving land and that type of ideology will tend to bring much more trouble. They instead have become a bit more open in their recruitment to better adapt to the wasteland, decades ago they have begun to shy away from other chapters of the brotherhood and recruit ghouls, synths, super-mutants and even began to use creatures such as deathclaws as mounts and trackers. Instead of eliminating all that is non human the brotherhood has decided to enlist those who are like minded and self aware enough to help, to keep them around as a reminder of the kind of chaos hubris can bring.

The Enclave is a secretive political, scientific, and militaristic organization that is descended directly from members of the pre-War United States government, and claims to be the legally-sanctioned continuation of the government, while also styling themselves and their overall demeanor as such. The Enclave is comprised of (mostly) ancestral descendants of top ranking officials of the government (most notably, the last standing president of the United States before the Great War, according to the Fallout Bibles), and elite members of various branches of the United States' military, as well as a few others such as those who had considerable ties and/or sway with powerful corporations that worked closely with the U.S government that retreated to the Poseidon Energy Oil Rig. The Enclave takes pride in being the last known concentrated bastion of pure, unmutated humanity, aside from the unopened vaults and the Institue, and being the most technologically advanced faction in the wasteland. As a result of such an attitude, the Enclave are incredibly isolationist, never taking in recruits from the outside, this faces them with an even graver shortage of manpower than the Brotherhood, however they make up for it with their formidable technology. Because of the effects of radiation and the Forced Evolutionary Virus on the people of the Wasteland, most members of the Enclave generally do not consider them to be completely human anymore, often attacking them on sight. They, as well as other mutated creatures, like the various generations of super mutants and ghouls, are considered to be abominations that are, at best, to be used as conscripted assets or slaves, and at worst, eradicated so that "true humanity" could take its place as the "real" nation of America. The government is headed by a President, and, according to the speeches made on Enclave Radio, there is some form of Congress. The Enclave's scientists continue to research upon improvements in the very latest in armor (e.g. the advanced power armor) and advanced prototype weapon technologies after the war and are better equipped and trained than any other known organization in the entire Wasteland. The Enclave had also managed to gain access to one of the last known supplies of fossil fuel in the post-nuclear world, which is used to supply fuel for their Vertibird transports. The Enclave have always had a bit of a technological edge against the rest of the wasteland, their alliance with the institute has proven to make both of them much more dangerous.

Caesar's Legion is an autocratic, traditionalist, reactionary slaver society, and a totalitarian dictatorship. Founded in 2247 by Edward Sallow (also known as Caesar) and Joshua Graham, it is based on the ancient Roman Empire. Its legionaries are a well organized, culturally insular fighting force that mainly operate east of the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon, in the former state of Arizona. Ever pushing west, their capital is the city of Flagstaff.

Caesar's Legion is comprised mostly of reconditioned tribes and their descendants. The Legion's symbol is a golden bull on a red field, which is derived from Julius Caesar's standard for the Tenth Twin Legion.

In the year 2246, the Followers of the Apocalypse sent a group of nine members to the Arizona wastelands to study the region's tribal languages. The group included Follower Edward Sallow, who met with the New Canaanite missionary Joshua Graham, a specialist in tribal dialects. Not long into their travels, the group was captured by the Blackfoot tribe and held for ransom.

At the time, the tribe warred against seven other tribes, and suffered from a lack of skill in warfare. Against his companion's wishes, Sallow aided the Blackfoots to save him and his companions from their captor's enemies, giving them knowledge in gun maintenance, small unit tactics, explosive improvisation, and military strategy. The tribals admired Sallow so much that they made him their leader. With that, Sallow took the name Caesar, and began reorganizing the tribals he commanded into the Legion.

Caesar established warfare policies in the Legion based on the concepts of divide and conquer and total war. The Legion defeated the region's seven tribes from weakest to strongest, and completely dominated each faction's land and people. The people conquered in campaigns were conscripted, enslaved, or killed. Caesar saw the tribes "playing at war," and tribals viewed his tactics as foreign, as their warfare consisted of skirmishes that never escalated into major conflicts.

With the combined leadership of Caesar and Graham, declared the "Malpais Legate," the Legion led campaigns against more tribes, forming a fanatically loyal army with their captives. Eighty-six tribes had been conquered by the year 2271, and the territory Caesar led formed the most powerful society east of the Colorado River. The Legion expanded west into the Mojave, and established Fortification Hillon the Colorado River in 2277. The advancing forces eventually made contact with the NCR near New Vegas, and began a campaign to take the region.

Under the command of the Malpais Legate, Legion forces marched against the New California Republic garrison at Hoover Dam, in an attempt to take the strategic asset and river crossing. In what became known as the First Battle of Hoover Dam, the Malpais Legate initially had the upper hand. The Legate was able to push the NCR defenders back and lead his forces over the dam. Lead elements of the NCR, including members of the 1st Recon Battalion and NCR Rangers, executed a tactical retreat west across the dam and into Boulder City, all the while using their marksmanship prowess to kill the Legion officers (primarily centurions and decanii). The Legate, unable to adapt his strategies in combat or see the deception unfolding in front of him, chose to order his legionaries to push the rangers, not knowing the NCR had booby-trapped Boulder City, packing C4 along their line of retreat and within the city itself, and drawing the Legion into a trap. When the Legion forces entered the city, the NCR detonated the explosives and inflicted severe casualties amongst them, crippling their offensive. The NCR forces then counter-attacked, pushing back and eventually routing the Legion forces who fled east back over the dam. Caesar, angered at the failure of his Legate, made an example of him. The Praetorian guard covered the Legate in pitch, set him on fire, and cast him into the depths of the Grand Canyon. Caesar forbade mention of his name, and now he is spoken of only in hushed whispers by the lowest Legionaries and slaves; they call him the Burned Man.

By 2281, Caesar's Legion has re-established its power in the west, rebuilt its army, and has slowly encroached on the city of New Vegas. They continue to contest NCR over all of the region, destroying several NCR bases such as Ranger Station Charlie and Camp Searchlight, overrunning the NCR town of Nelson, and creating unease and terror across the region. Sometime before the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, the Caesar's Legion has conquered a new tribe under the command of centurion Gaius Magnus, bringing the number to eighty-seven.

Caesar's Legion is a massive army inspired by the stories of imperial Rome's might. Though the bulk of Caesar's soldiers have only improvised weapons to fight an enemy armed with modern rifles, their discipline, ferocity, and sheer numbers dampens the impact of the NCR's technological advantage. Combined with their skill in infiltration and sabotage, the warriors of Caesar's Legion have managed to score important victories against the NCR in the Mojave Wasteland and maintain a powerful presence as the most feared faction in the Mojave Wasteland and Northern Texas.

Legion divisions
The legionaries can be divided according to experience as such:

Recruit legionary
Recruits are freshly trained legionaries who are given only basic equipment. They are the most common type of legionaries and are forced to take the brunt of any blow from the enemy. They are mostly used for patrolling legion territory or to conduct small to medium scale raids.

Prime legionary
Prime legionaries are better equipped than recruits. They also have the benefit of greater experience and training than the standard legionaries. In short, the prime legionaries are a full step above Caesar's recruits.

Veteran legionary
Veteran legionaries are not only the best equipped amongst the standard legionaries, they are also the most experienced as well. They are typically held in reserve until the recruit and the prime legionaries are defeated.

Legionary decanus
Legionaries are given the position of decanus when they display leadership potential consistently in battle. A legionary decanus has the authority to run small camps as well as act as a deputy for the local centurion. Seniority determines the quality of the decanus' armor; a standard decanus will only have the recruit's armor whereas a seasoned decanus will be given a veteran legionary's armor. They are easily distinguished by their helmets, which are adorned with multiple feathers.

Centurion
Centurions serve as field commanders during major operations. They are often appointed to their position through years of dedicated service and their martial prowess reflects the rigors they have endured. They are clad in heavy armor cobbled together from their fallen foes and use various weapons to great effect. However, they are generally kept away from danger due to the strategic value of each centurion. Outside of battle, centurions act as administrators of Legion camps with the assistance of the decanus.

Legate
The legate is the commander of the legionaries and is subservient to none but Caesar. The position of legate is only given to individuals who demonstrate unshakable loyalty, leadership skills, and unrestrained ferocity. Consequently, the legate is feared by Caesar's foes, as he is essentially the face of the Legion. Joshua Graham was the first legate but was executed for his defeat at Hoover Dam. Lanius was appointed as Joshua's successor.

Some legionaries are given different assignments such as reconnaissance, assassination, and scouting duties:

Legionary scout
The legionary scout is trained in the arts of reconnaissance. These legionaries are equipped with hunting riflesand lighter versions of the standard recruit armor. They are often accompanied by Legion mongrels as support.

Explorer legionary
The explorer legionary is a veteran scout legionary. They are not intended for combat and will thus carry only basic weaponry. They serve as scouts, messengers, and sentries in various Legion camps.

Legionary assassin
The Legionary assassin is a specially trained legionary, sent after Caesar's most hated enemies. They are extremely dangerous due to the fact that they travel in packs and utilize powerful firearms and melee weapons. Legionary assassins are typically led into battle by a vexillarius. Though when encountering Legionary assassins, they may have Praetorian guards in the group and they may unusually use fire arms as well as their ballistic fists.

Other positions
Frumentarii - The eyes and ears of Caesar, the Frumentarii serve as spies, saboteurs, and assassins. They operate separately from the main Legion forces and are hand picked by Caesar himself. In 2281, the leader of this unit is Vulpes Inculta.

Houndmasters-the remnants of the Hangdogs tribes a tribe Assimilated by the legion. After they were integrated in the Legion, Caesar, seeing how useful the Hangdogs' talent were in taming dogs, made the male members of the tribe Houndmasters of the Legion, and Caesar also made the Houndmasters begin training and taming the Legion mongrels. its unclear where they fall with in the military hierarchy as they are not seen in battle.

Vexillarius - A soldier chosen as a vexillarius is a standard bearer that carries the Vexillum, a military standard displaying the emblem of the Legion. The vexillarii provide troops with a rallying point and morale during heated exchanges, but rarely are seen in combat. These soldiers are given luxuries including firearms, superior armor, and distinctive helmets in comparison to the standard legionary.

Praetorian - They are soldiers or officers with the potential to become centurions but operate as members of Caesar's security detail. Prospective praetorians must challenge the praetorian they think is the weakest. The two men will then fight to the death in hand-to-hand combat for the title of praetorian. The praetorians are proficient in unarmed combat and augment their innate fighting abilities with lethal ballistic fists. Some praetorians may accompany Legionary assassins, and will sometimes unusually equip fire arms (See above). In 2281, the leader of this section is Lucius, who is the third most powerful man in the Legion. The leader of the Praetorian guard will also temporarily become the leader of the Legion should Caesar become unable to give orders. He will remain in this position until Caesar is able to lead again.

Blacksmith - The blacksmiths are responsible for the maintenance of the Legion's weapons and armor. While their role in the Legion does not involve direct combat, they are well-armored and skilled with handling chainsaws, which serve as their tools and weapons. These men are generally found in legion camps.

Legionary Instructor - The legionary instructor is responsible for the training of future legionaries. They are trusted with turning boys into potent warriors and thus are encouraged to subject their charges to rigorous training. They frequently threaten to kill their students should they not give full attention to improving their skills.

Speculatores - Though there is nothing known about this group of the Legion, they are featured in the collector's deck that came with the Fallout: New Vegas collector's edition. They are the 8 of clubs, and the card features a sword in the ground and a quote about Mars, making them undeniably Legion. They are also mentioned in the quest Oh My Papa by Melissa. She is told she could become one by a Frumentarii agent named Karl. However, it is apparent that Karl is lying to Melissa given the fact that the legion does not allow women to serve. Ancient Roman Speculatores filled scouting roles.

Inspired by a group in the 19th century dedicated to helping African slaves escape into Canada, the Railroad helped synths run away from the institute, seen as their only threat, the institute focused it's energy in eliminating them once and for all. Not all members were killed during the purge, and managed to flee west. They secretly began to rebuild and continue their work. They helped synths escape from the institute so they would be able to live normal lives. They recruit the aid of outside doctors to perform reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries onto themselves and synths so they may blend in and become harder to find and identify. They operate in secret to, mostly during the cover of night. Most agents which are called Tourists act as spies, they have secret code-words and even plaster symbols all over to leave either drop offs, pick ups and as well as ward from dangers. Due to fear of being discovered again they began to paint these markings with translucent paint that can only be seen with night vision goggles and black lights. The main enforcers and shock troopers of the group are known as Heavies, they are ruthless efficient killing machines as well as assassins. They are the first to apply ballistic weave into their clothing.

The Institute is an advanced scientific organization in the Commonwealth. It is known and feared for its ability to produce advanced synthetic humans (also known as synths) of high enough quality to pass as true humans.

The Institute was born from the Commonwealth Institute of Technology, or CIT, a renowned university based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Robert House attended it in his youth. During the Great War, a number of CIT personnel survived by taking refuge in the underground level of the campus. In 2110, the survivors and their descendants founded the Institute, an organization dedicated to furthering pre-War science.

In its early days, as the very first Generation 1 synths were being built, the Institute reached out to aid the people of the Commonwealth in rebuilding civilization, but mutual mistrust quickly doomed that enterprise. Soured on any further cooperation with the surface, the Institute withdrew into the shadows and adopted a new purpose: to abandon the Commonwealth to whatever fate awaits it and focus only on furthering their own vision of humanity's future - regardless of how many innocent lives they would have to sacrifice in the process.

The Institute's Advanced Systems department completed work on the Molecular Relay, a teleportation device, in the late 2180s. This allowed the Institute to completely seal itself off from the surface and begin expanding its facilities deeper underground. Whenever the Institute required materials that it could not produce itself, Generation 1 and 2 synths were teleported to the surface to scavenge, as well as to conduct experiments which would otherwise have required Institute personnel to leave the safety of the facility. These directives frequently led to conflict between the synths and the people of the surface, and instilled in the latter a lasting prejudice against synths and wariness of the secretive Institute.

By 2227, work on the third generation of synths, who would be indistinguishable from genuine humans, was well underway. The mercenary Conrad Kellogg was sent out to find Vault 111, where the Institute's scientists believed they could find a cryogenically-preserved pre-War human for their experiments. Kellogg returned with the infant Shaun, whose pristine DNA was used to finish the synths. The people of the surface first encountered a prototype Generation 3 synth in 2229, when it attacked the residents of Diamond City in what became known as the "Broken Mask Incident." Existing prejudices against synths were compounded into paranoia; the people of the surface realized that the Institute could secretly kidnap and replace them with synths. While some scoffed at such a notion, this paranoia was in fact justified, as the Institute did begin using synths to infiltrate and even sabotage surface communities to further their own goals.

By 2287, the Institute was actively opposed by the Railroad, who viewed the third-gen synths as fully sapient and wished to liberate them from the Institute, as well as the Brotherhood of Steel, who viewed the Institute's work with synths as a return to the days of amoral pre-War corporations such as Poseidon Energy and Mass Fusion.

The Institute is divided into four main divisions, each with specific areas of expertise. All divisions answer to the directorate, composed of the division heads plus the director, who lead the Institute. The director is the overall leader of the organization, whose main purpose is to ensure proper cooperation between the divisions so that the goals of the Institute are properly met. These divisions are: Synth Retribution Bureau(White) Robotics(Red) Bioscience(Green) Advanced Systems(Blue) and Facilities.

The Institute is home to the most advanced social structure and technology in the post-War wasteland, surpassing the Brotherhood of Steel and is possibly on par with the Enclave and Think Tank.

The main and most important technology of the Institute is the synth. While the first and second generations of synths are only very advanced machines, the third generation is completely indistinguishable from humans, making them perfect agents and soldiers. Fourth Generation synths acted as DNA incubators and gene splicers, since they were given functioning genitals to reproduce. Fifth generation synths are perfect copies of humans, stronger, smarter and faster than ordinary humans, they can grow old, reproduce and get sick like ordinary humans, they serve as infiltrators. They truly rebuilt mankind.

Also, the Institute has many powerful energy weapons at its disposal, advanced AI and other robotic technologies. Another powerful technology of the Institute is teleportation, which scientists use to enter and exit the Institute, and can be used to relocate large numbers of troops and agents to almost any location instantly via radio waves.

While the Institute is primarily a scientific group, it has a powerful army at its disposal: the synths.

Inside the main HQ of the Institute, the Robotics Department can produce very large numbers of synthetic organisms, which can be very efficient foot soldiers with enhanced strength and resilience. This, coupled with the advanced technology at their disposal, makes the Institute's synths a serious threat to anyone who dares to oppose them.

Coursers are a particular type of synth with higher military capability, used as special agents to pursue and recover lost synths. While ordinary synths he Coursers were kept as Generation 3, and given further enhancements as well as being given permission to don the institute's new redefined Combat Armor. They used pre-war combat armor on their older model coursers then upgraded them to remade combat armor, as further advancements in design were made. A new Design is currently in production. New California(officially the New California Republic, often abbreviated to NCR) is a large, democratic federation of well over 700,000 based in California, with holdings in Nevada, Oregon, Mexico (Baja California) and along the Colorado River. The NCR emphasizes and claims to support a myriad of old world values, such as democracy, personal liberty, and the rule of law. It also strives to restore general order to the wasteland, the improvement and development of infrastructure and economic systems, and a basic common peace between the people. Though appearing to be a benevolent entity of governance, the ability to control the land it claims to protect, the fidelity of those who live under their rule, and the widespread corruption within their political system has been questioned by many, without a clear response by the NCR themselves.

The New California Republic was born from the remnants of the survivors of Vault 15 and the small walled community they founded, Shady Sands. Under the leadership of Aradesh, and with the assistance of the Vault Dweller (who saved Tandi, Aradesh's daughter and a future president of the NCR), the community prospered. Trade routes with other settlements allowed cultural exchange, and a movement to form a national entity gradually took root and won popular acceptance.

In 2186, the town of Shady Sands changed its name to "New California Republic" and formed a trial council government to draft a constitution. Four more settlements joined the council, and in 2189 the NCR was voted into existence as a sprawling federation of five states: Shady Sands, Los Angeles, Maxson, the Hub, and Dayglow.

By post-apocalyptic standards, the NCR is a paragon of economic success and good ethical character: political enfranchisement, rule of law, a reasonable degree of physical security and a standard of living better than mere subsistence are daily realities for its impressive population of citizens.

Currently, the NCR is in a state of transition, with rapid economic growth and a sea change in political leadership endangering its grand humanitarian ideals. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Mojave, where the occupation of Hoover Dam has improved access to electricity and water, but at the cost of straining its budget and embroiling its armed forces in a morally corrosive imperialist project.

The NCR government's aim is to annex New Vegas as the republic's newest state. While it already controls Hoover Dam, its treaty with Mr. House and the three families compels it to allot 5% of the dam's electrical and water production to local use free of charge. Adding insult to injury, the NCR is locked into protecting New Vegas from invasion by Caesar's Legion even as it receives not one cap in tax revenue from the Strip's highly lucrative resort operations. NCR citizens in the Mojave have largely come here for economic reasons, whether as paid citizen soldiers or as prospectors and fortune-seekers.

NCR Rangers are Unbeatable with their trademark Anti-Material Rifle, it has a firing distance of well over 1000 yards. They also carry custom made 44. caliber revolvers for close range combat, their armor is fitted for any number of harsh environments.

Texas is a rather unforgiving and uninhabitable place. The weather there is constantly changing to extremes as days go by, it can go from unbearably hot to bone chilling cold, these types of climates tend to come out of the blue and linger for as much as several weeks and sometimes months or even an entire year. Texas has been prone to floods and drought as well as raging tornadoes that last months. Texas tends to have a multitude of ecosystems, from swamps, to forests and even deserts and dry grasslands.

2vxjgnm.png

Radvipers are considered as possibly the only natural predators of Deathclaws, Centaurs, Supermutants and Cazadores. They measure up to 10 feet long and their venom is mildly acidic. Native to Texas and what's left of Mexico along with a few select locations in the Mohave, radvipers are giant irradiated mutations of several species of snakes through out the wild west. Like most reptiles they are cold blooded and hide during the night to avoid the bitter cold. To best defend against them cryo-weapons and ordnance will be needed. Their skin is sought after by several as extra tough lather armor, boots, gloves, jackets and other articles of clothing. They like to coil before striking, and if their prey is large enough they'll wrap around it to immobilize it better, while crushing their bones to make the victim easier to swallow.

Variants:
Sidewinders: These snakes can outmaneuver bullets and even cazadores, they sure fire way to hit them is by luring them to cryo-mine infested terrain. As their name suggests, they move their entire bodies left and right in a zigzag or serpentine pattern. However their heads stay in the same place while they move, this has proven invaluable information for Snipers and radviper hunters.

Diamond Backs: The mutated version of the Diamond Back Rattlesnake, easily distinguished still by it's diamond pattern on it's scales. These snakes devour metal objects, mostly iron and steel, by doing so they strengthen their scales making them near bulletproof. Avoid dropping anything metal around them. However they are nice enough to give a warning, should you ever hear a rattle, that means there's one near by and you should leave. However they only ever warn people when they're defending their nests or full.

Cottonmouths: These are the only radvipers that are not venomous, they can be identified by their somewhat "fluffy" looking, white mouths. They like to bite down on their prey, crushing them before swallowing them whole.

Copperheads: Oddly enough many mistake this snake's skin for actual metal, it's copper like complexion has make it a prize for flashy dressers. These snakes tend to be much more aggressive than the others due to this. The notes of an Institute Scientist who studied them said that when touched they emit an aroma that smells like mutfruit.

A Pre-war gated community that was turned into one of the largest settlement in Madisonville, it has as many as over 50 rebuilt prewar homes. Each house serves as something different, a few are taverns, medical offices with lost of space for multiple patients, massive two story salons, weapon and armor shops as well as clothing stores and over 5 restaurants. It's has currently the largest and most well protected population in Texas and it serves as the Texas Ranger's capital hold, their presence and fortification of the surrounding walls has made this settlement tough to breach by raiders, however there is a bit of a problem. They are far away from the nearest water source and due to the harsh weather of Texas they are more prone to droughts and food shortages than any other settlement, it's location also makes it's inhabitants vulnerable to rad viper and rad scorpion attacks, the forces are able to hold them off. This settlement heavily relies on outside trade and help from the near by vault. Vault 50 has a massive water purifying facility but the dwellers have become rather greedy and constantly raise the price of water and artificially restrict the supply. The Rangers have been trying to make the vault cooperate peacefully with the inhabitant's of the settlement but nothing has changed, in a way the dwellers feel they are entitled to Madison County and it's many commodities, especially since the early dwellers helped restore the houses and water supply and electricity, they bill the settlers monthly and if they don't pay they are either forcibly exiled or dealt with. To live in the county it has become hell but many settlers refuse to leave now that the rangers are muscling out the greedy dwellers. A Few years ago, it's mayor died under mysterious circumstances, a Vault Dweller fro Vault 22 acted as emissary and mayor in the city. But was soon replaced and voted out but a much more popular candidate, a ghoul by the name of Hancock. He quickly helped the settlers and Rangers establish a better foothold and get much needed supplies without being cheated by Overseer Quincy. During his reign as the newly appointed mayor of Madison County, he had a few things built, a local press distributor known as the Madison County Charter, a printing press to mass produce and copy books and random comics, a few libraries to house them and even his own memoirs in a book called The Goodneighbor. It has 8 volumes and has sold a lot in Madison county and neighboring settlements and cities.

The Barrier and Storm Wall
noisebarrierwalls_4.jpg

storm_wall_by_reicheran-d8q5gxv.jpg

The barrier was built 180 years after the great war, some vault dwellers and built the 20ft wall to keep people from wandering into the massive storm wall several miles away, even though it was far away it stilled looked massive and completely blocked out the sky from it's end.

Vaults
d21f362195f582c189c16cc7e72f375a.jpg

There are a few Vaults in Texas, few are inhabited by people the others house dark secrets that have yet to be revealed. The vault-tec offices in Austin may no longer be standing due to the raging cyclones so the way to open them may be lost forever, unless the underground inhabitants have somehow gotten a hold of it. Among the inhabited vaults is Vault 52 and vault 50. The other vaults are scattered out further way from Madisonville but outside the city there is one which houses a horrible secret, Vault 97. So far only 122 vaults have been confirmed to exist but there seem to be more hidden around Texas as off the records experiments. 6 of which are hidden in buildings or in subway tunnels. Vault 50-2, Vault 53-2, vaults 52-1 through 9 and vault 14-5. They may have been built to help extend and interconnect all vaults just like Vault 0 in Cheyenne mountain, but no one knows what lies inside them or even if there still might be people inside. More importantly no one knows why they were even built if their existence was never meant to be public, what was the purpose for them?

Mustang City
neo-national-stadium_akira.jpg

A pre-war high school stadium, formerly known as Mustang Stadium(this is Texas football was practically a religion here, hence how the stadium us),a bomb hit the side of the building decimating part of the wall, however the bomb was a dud. Once people came to inhabit it, to avoid attracting the children of atom the bomb was dismantled and scrapped. The nuclear materials were converted into fusion cores to help power up the stadium. Since the dismantling of the bomb, the children of atom have declared the citizens of heretics and an affront to atoms will. The children of atom have since then systematically attacked and raised the city, constantly harassing it's inhabitants to make them pay for their ancestors crime. The brotherhood of steel have made this a stronghold for their operations, one being to rebuild an airship similar to the prydwen. They have since helped the city establish decent defenses and trade. The citizens gladly help them recover parts and information for their construction endeavor.

Atom's Retreat
c8933745abdce2a50e4ab693e50b228a.jpg

An unnaturally green and humid swamp given the fact that Texas is mostly dry all year long. The water that floods the area is irradiated and home to several glowing creatures, as well as several members of the Children of Atom. This is one of their many strongholds in Texas.

Sin City
52d473d9d7628.jpg

This city is off limits to anyone within 600 yards of it, the inner city has been taken over by raiders and has become a haven for all manner of scum, murder, rape, slavery and rampant genocide and cannibalism take place here with no sign of subsiding. The outskirts of it have been walled a few times byt they always break through, The Brotherhood of Steel and the Texas Rangers have joined forces to shoot down any raider and scaver that comes from this place. Any settlers unlucky enough to be caught by one of their raiding parties are rarely ever heard from again. This has been known to be the worst place in the world to be a child or a woman. Sexual deviancy and wide spread rape have been a daily activity to be reported from infiltration squads, along with arson and mass murder, the people of this city are somehow led by a man only named Gut Noose(I'll make him later), he seems to be the mayor of this town and the one to stay behind to keep it in it's glorious outside order, former inhabitant and mayor of Boston's Goodneighbor Hancock has been quoted to say "That place is hell on earth, a literal clusterfuck of the worst humanity has to offer, at least goodneighbor was classy. With people who'd help each other out despite being lowlifes, you'd sooner get ripped apart and forced to watch as these animals jack off on your severed limbs than getting a helping hand." The Rangers have done their best to try to purge the city's raiders and save anyone who can still be considered helpful or innocent. However Wolf Pack Industries make's it's home there. They act as local police and relish in the perks the citizens enjoy in a daily basis. The brotherhood has helped keep them all in a centered area with their storm troopers and elimination squads. Recently they've pleaded to the NCR in the west to send over some sharp shooters to help.

Rules:

1. Be Nice to others, if you'd like to start a fight between characters or befriend someone's character be sure to ask first via pm. Same goes for killing someones character and looting them, ask them what they you can and cant's loot off their character's corpse.
2.Post as soon as you can, there is no posting order and I understand many of you may be busy but post as early and as often as you are able to. If you take to long or begin to hold up the rp or someone is stuck waiting for your response, i will send you a pm notifying you of this. You can either have your character be severely injured and forced out of action until you have more time to post or your character can be killed. You may make another if and when you are able to come back to this rp.

3. There are no character limits, make as many as you can handle. That being said, feel free to have a nice variety and mix of characters.
4. No God modding, no one should be indestructible, tough yes but unbeatable no. So if you start a fight with someone's character be sure to talk to them on how you'd like the fight to go down, if you want to keep it short and sweet with a bloody ending being a possible option so be it, if you'd like to put on a show that's acceptable too.
5. Literary level is intermediate, post at least 1 or 2 paragraphs made up of 4 to 6 sentences, or multiple 2 to 3 sentence paragraphs. Just don't spam one liners. I have no problem with them personally but a lot of people do.
6. Have fun, we're all here to have a good time, this isn't a job, that being said i refer back to rule 2, some people like to post constantly so try to be on as much as you are able to.
7. To make sure you read the rules, send me a funny picture or video via pm, or if you want tell me a joke via pm. This is so I know you read the rules.

You May Now Post, The IC will be Up, when I am Able to Post it, and when I have a funny vid, pic or joke from all participants.

Sorry pal, I'm not much of a Fallout Boy.

Bio: Modeled after the Deceased son of Dr. Harris, the doctor took personal charge of the construction of this specific courser, he had the synth fitted with the best in weaponry, armor and systems to ensure he's indestructible. Many question his decision to build this synth worried he might get attached to it, due to the resemblance of his deceased son. J4-CK has proven effective in combat and synth retrieval. And has been granted access to Tier 6 Institute weapons, code named Onix Armaments. He has also been granted permission to use Plasma weapons and the MK VI Combat Armor to further increase his abilities. He was created 3 weeks after the death of Dr. Harris' son, at the hands of a raider king. He has also been active for a total of 6 months.

Bio:
The Wasteland, certainly a time to grow up in that teaches a man that hard knocks at an early age. Jericho had an easier start that most as he was born to an odd couple with his mother being a B.O.S, and his father a Texan Ranger. This happened around the time that most folks were getting together to show at least some cohesion due to the agreement between the two factions to stand together. It was a long argument about where he would stay as a baby but it was eventually decided he would be raised in the wastes by his dad as he is mother had to return back home. It didn't take long before his fatjer taught him to shoot a gun at the young age of 6 because this was Texas and it was sure to only be a struggle with the harsh lands around them, so he needed to learn defense for when he needed it.

He followed in his father's footsteps and took up the ranger mantle himself once his old man retired. 20 years of service with having to deal with slavers, merc companies, and the mutated horrors of the wasteland allowed him to see more than the average person who stayed inside hiding. It wasn't all doom and gloom though as he did make more than his share of friends along the road. Eventually he did grow tired after running with the rangers for a time and wanted to have more free will to explore, so he retired early at 26 to become a free wanderer of the waste. The past 4 years have been enlightening as he's been able to see a new side of the wasteland and meet others he would have previously never encountered on favorable terms if he was still flying his old flags. By standing at the ripe age of 30, Jericho knows that he's still hasn't scratched the surface of what this world has to offer, so his journey continues as he tries to lend a helping hand wherever possible.

Bio: As a child he was a servant boy for a scout in the Legion, he had to endure his owner's abuse and torture as well of that of his owner's wife and bratty children. As time passed he slowly and surely became sick of them, coming to the realization that he's owner's superiors were not pleased with his laziness he decided to sabotage him and his family. He planted evidence that made him look like an enemy to the legion as well as bribe a few raiders to make the accusations seem that much more legitimate. Once his superiors called for his master's execution, he begged to deliver it himself. Legate Artorias agreed and handed the young man a large Dadao sword, Nathan looked down at his former master as he was about to cut his head clean off and said "This, is your Karma." before swinging the blade downward and decapitating the man. Pleased with his desire to serve the legion Legate Artorias granded him the title of Sentinel and followed through with any request he would want. Nathan only asked to have his former master's widowed wife and fatherless children as his personal slaves. As years passed and he grew stronger, Legate Artorias and the rest of the legion grew proud of him, they granted him the rank of Legate and as an added bonus he was given his own home in a massive baseball stadium in Houston Texas. With his new family which at the time was his former master's pregnant wife, impregnated daughters and son. he began to grow bored of keeping them as slaves. His revenge long achieved he saw no further reason to subject them to his mistreatment. He bought their freedom one day and sent them off to a small settlement in the republic of Texas. He then began to contemplate on his life, he loved warfare and being part of every siege and hunt for raiders, but other than that he had no reason to continue helping the legion. One night when they were about to sell off the dwellers of vault 43 after a siege through it's blast doors, he walked around the vault exploring it curiously. He had never seen one in such pristine condition before, after his exploring he saw the vault's current overseer huddled in a corner clutching her ruined vault suit. Legate Artorias was strapping his armor back then saw Nathan. He gave him the order to execute a few adults to scare the children and break the women in front of their families he needed them to be submissive for the market. Nathan agreed then stopped, in a way he started to feel remorse, the same happened to him when he was a child. He was forced to watch as his father's throat was cut and his mother violently rapped by his former master. He slowly reached for his sword, he knew full well that if he killed the legionaries there would be no turning back. He took one deep breath then unsheathed his blade slowly, while the legate gave a short "this is the way of the world" speech to the overseer Nathan swung his blade and decapitated him. As the legate's head tumbled down the overseer looked at him with a mixture of shock, hope, fear and gratitude. She handed him her dead bodyguard's machine gun. She hid in the closet to avoid the fight. Nathan slowly and casually walked down the stairs and halls shooting down the legionaries. They began to lock doors shut to keep him away but he would open them by breaking the locking switch and shooting at the hydraulic pipes. Once all legionaries were taken care off he began to free the captive vault dwellers, many demanded that he leave and never returned since he did lead the charge, others decided to give him a home and have him stay to protect them. Nathan had a long conversation with the overseer, they came to an arrangement. He would start his own raider gang near by to keep them safe, if any of his men stepped out of line or harassed the dwellers he would deal with them personally. However his protection would be paid by the women of the vault every week. But only he would receive that payment. As time passed he succeed in keeping his end of the bargain, his raider clan the war lords have built a massive outpost at the gates of vault 43, his fellow raiders were paid in weapons, caps, food and chems, things they took from caravans and scavenging jobs. Nathan would personally lead the charge in these to earn their trust. More time passed and he came across a Mexican cartel queen who agreed to form an alliance with him, she had two ghouls as associates, their reach spread across Texas to cover more ground that way. War bargained with her and they came to an arrangement, the four will become known as the four horsemen to instill fear across the wasteland and help each other out as well as their associates.

Bio: Formerly known as B3-L3, as one of the first gen 4 synth made. First they needed to work out a few bugs in the female synth's built in incubators. Her purpose was to be repeatedly impregnated by members of the institute to see what defects the offspring would be born with. The first few pregnancies gave unsatisfying results and the children were recycled for synth material. As this went on, she slowly became more emotionally dull, feeling nothing towards the many children she birthed and had given away. After 78 trials and surgical fixes to her incubator she finally gave birth to a perfect copy of a human being. The child was even born with synth components, despite this achievement and praise from the scientists she felt nothing for the child and refused to care for it. After being forced to care for the child which would become the stepping stone to the first gen 5 synths, after watching the child grow for a few months she slowly became attached to it. Unsure of why her emotional dullness began to wear off she became overprotective of the child, despite naming it pariah. As time passed the bio-engineering division noticed something strange with the child. It was immune to disease and radiation. Seeing this as potential to make their other synths and even some of themselves much more resilient towards the outside world, they took the child from her and began to have it go extensive experimental and surgical genetic manipulation. They had gotten the formula to immunize the institute's population , at the cost of Pariah's life. After his death she yearned for a chance to explore the outside world in an espionage and genetic retrieval mission. This was a chance for the bio engineering team to have accurate results from a field test they complied. On her first expedition to the outside she was sent to southern Texas under the name Isabela Cantú. Once they her team was attacked by a cartel known as La Sombra de La Muerte,(the Shadow of Death) The Boss Enrique Vargas was starstruck once he looked at B3-L3, he had her team tied and locked in his home's barracks and decided to take her as a bride. He made his intentions to woo her very clear, seeing this as a chance for freedom from the institute she complied. On the several years she stayed married to Enrique, she learned much of the outside world, and her husband's business. She was even tutored in fire arms use by him and his bodyguard Ishi Sado taught her how to use kusarigama. As the years passed and she gave him a family or 7 children through out a few decades he began to grow suspicious of his wife's un-aging appearance and so did her children. Once she had revealed what she was and her purpose, his feelings towards her had remained unchanged. In a way she felt relieved and finally happy, she had a wonderful family and had learned so much of her new home. She had finally felt complete. Time flew away and her true identity was revealed by a few who despised the institute. The local town began to riot and charge into the gates of her home. During the skirmish her husband and oldest children had her hide as they tried to hold down the alamo. After several minutes of resistance they had failed, she had left her hiding place and looked around, as everything she held dead was destroyed by those who would consider themselves just and wronged. This was the final straw, her heart truly could not take anymore. She was now emotionally dead, before she could exact her vengeance, some rail road agents had captured her. They planed to wipe her memory and change her appearance, refusing to do so, she killed the current leader and forced the small group of the organization to work for her. Once they complied she demanded to have her mind placed on a stronger body, to make her a nightmare for those who have hurt her. Starting with the institute, she helped raid an institute research party and captured the scientists. She had them tortured until they agreed to her demands. They would build her a synth building station, once the plans and materials were set she had her rail road and institute hostages along with a few hired members of wolf pack industries siege The Alamo and return her former home back to her. All inhabitants were locked into the barracks awaiting execution. She led the scientists to the basement where they would build her the synth replicating machine, after months of construction and resource gathering the machines had been completed. She had submitted her current body as recycling material for the reconstruction. To avoid being killed in the process or tricked in some other way she had paid the wolf pack mercs extra to kill the scientists if they did not follow her request to the letter. After an hour, she was built into her new body. A gen 3 MK IV courser. Once her memories were transferred to her new shell she had them save the data and build a memory lounger. Just in case her current body was destroyed in the future, she then had the scientists and rail road agents killed to avoid discovery, once that had been finished she had the civilians lined up before her one by one, she had grabbed her old kusarigama from their trophy room which was once her bedroom. She slowly and carefully slit the throat of the settlers one by one, men, women and children. She would look into their eyes as she did this, she wanted them to know exactly who they crossed when they stormed into her home all those years ago. She had their corpses tossed into the synth genetic recycler and slowly began to build herself an army. She named her army after her dead husband's cartel, and she had taken the name La Muerte. As their leader and protector. During her time in in San Antonio she had raided and assaulted many settlements and villages to instill fear into southern Texas. Many superstitions about her were being spread, stating outlandish yet somehow true things about her. Such as she was death incarnate, any who ever cross her are never heard from again and rebuilt into another of her soldiers, and others such as she's able to disappear and reappear out of anywhere, another rumor is that she's able kill anyone from any distance at any time. A cult was started by these rumors, called "Las Manos de La Muerte". they were death worshipers, who killed indiscriminately and brought offerings of supplies and food to her home in The Alamo. She does not mind their existence, so long as they do not interfere with her business. Years later her empire grew further, reaching the borders of the Republic of Texas. She met two ghouls, one who had an unending hunger and another who she could not get a read on. She worked an alliance with them once an idea came to her head. For this idea to work she needed a warlord, the further she explored north the more stories she would hear of a young ex legion soldier, who had an unending rage. She met this man one day and offered an alliance with him, when he accepted they all dubbed their little alliance The Horsemen of the Post Apocalypse.

Bio: A former resident of vault 1, their purpose there was basic, save as many people as they could. The real purpose however was to slowly expose the inhabitants with light radiation as they lived there, to study the effects of it on things such as, their health, reproduction and over all life. As time passed there were notable changes, people were much more prone to illness, very few developed a tolerance to radiation at the cost of being turned to ghouls. Some went feral and attacked the inhabitants, others were normal. All the same, ghouls were ordered to be locked up in a second vault under the current one, the feral horde grew larger with each decade. As the food supply began to run low due to growing infection, some inhabitants resorted to cannibalism to survive, they only consumed those who had committed crimes, disobedient children and from time to time, they would allow raiders to come in only to feast on them later. The vault had become infamous among early raider clans, they stayed away from it as rumors spread that no one ever returned from vault 1. As fewer people came to the vault, the inhabitants fell into a panic, they began to feed on each other much more often, any small crime got the offender a one way trip to the kitchen. As time passed and fewer and fewer people were left. To keep the vault from falling into the hands or raiders they decided to try and eat the contaminated food instead to spare more lives. Though this was noble it was also a mistake, the population grew sicker and and began to develop festering boils all over their body. this was around Richard's time, he grew these boils as well, he watched as his wife and children died from the infection. Once he was the last vault dweller left he had lost all sense of humanity, he fed on the corpses of his former colleagues and family, but it wasn't enough. A never ending hunger had awaken in him, one feeding was never enough, he always had to eat. He allowed the vault to get infested with pests so he could eat them, he slowly became a ghoul with all his gorging. After there was no more, he began to bite chunks of himself off to have at least something in his stomach, he wondered the vault one day after decades and saw door to a second vault. He opened the door and inside he saw a horde of ferals and non ferals, all coexisting together. After being freed, the ones still able to be rationable, pledged their allegiance to him. From that day, for decades to come, people would spread rumors and fear an appearance from the starving horde, a never ending army wandering ghouls who will attack and eat anything in their path, even each other. For decades Richard and his horde had spread fear across the dixie wasteland, but it wasn't enough, he was still hungry. He was always hungry. The horde began to travel west towards texas. Many by now have dubbed him with the name Famine, because his army grew and spread like a the hunger that had driven them insane. After months of terrorizing Texas he came across the warlords, a band of raiders led by a man who the locals called War. After a fierce battle, the red rider had the hungry ghoul on his knees and his army crippled beyond repair. Impressed by him, the Raider in red power armor spared him. This would be a massive mistake, for the hungry ghoul only cared for himself. On the day he was called to a meeting with War, a synth locals named La Muerte and another ghoul, he agreed to be their 4th member in their little group, however he never trusted any of them. To him, they were all just food who were more useful alive than dead, but for now, he would do as they would ask of him. His horde would scare off any undesirables from any places of interest the horsemen had. He did not mind being under their beck an call though, they always fed him their victims.
