It is year 2899. Humanity has long since conquered the stars around them. The resources and riches from their conquests had brought the human race into an Golden Age of technological advancement. Powerful self sustaining AI's were developed to aid humans and their machines, and cyborg parts allowed cripples and the weak to continue working for society.With the advent of AI, biotech and cybertechnology several centuries prior, the advancement of humanity has grown exponentially. Starships of massive proportions were built, floating worlds in space were created, massive Utopia cities on lush green planets were erected. Worlds beyond even what humanity thought were possible were discovered. Wars weren't fought, the human race was too busy expanding at a breakneck pace. Life was perfect. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

And then it did. By the year 2480, Humanity had overextended itself; the great sprawling empire it had forged had become too large for it to support itself. The empire collapsed onto itself. In the course of 20 years, the mighty empire humanity had established splintered into thousands of factions. The fall of the Empire resulted in a massive power vacuum and the Galaxy erupted into a large feudal war. Some factions grew power by warring with other factions, taking them over; others stayed secluded for as long as they could. Many were taken back by the earth empire, and just as many were lost in deep space.

By the 25th Century, most of the numerous factions had consolidated into 3 major powers: The original Earth Empire, the largest and most numerous of the 3 powers, made up of most of the core empire planets; The Coalition, a group of separatists strictly opposed to the Earth Empire, spanning across most of colonial space; and the Krellian Republic, a reclusive, bizarre group focused mainly along the outskirts of known space. The Earth Empire and the Coalition fight bitterly, the Empire seeking to reclaim their lost territory, and the Coalition fighting for a new order in the galaxy. The Krellians choose to stay out of the conflict, their faraway frontier colonies too far away to be bothered by the other two factions.

By the turn of the 26th century, the Earth Empire and the Coalition had suffered dreadful casualties on both sides, and just as many worlds lost in the splintering had been razed by both sides. The two superpowers agreed to an uneasy truce. That marked the start of an intergalactic cold war, as the two superpowers begin a buildup of military strength and engage in proxy wars with smaller nations and colonies.

As the end of the 28th century drew near, a series of failed operations by the Earth Empire at an attempt at securing a rumored Coalition Superweapon has sparked up and reignited the flames of war. After almost 300 years of peace, war between the Coalition and the Empire had renewed in earnest. Millions of people from both sides are drafted as fleets of starships and planets are thrown into vicious war. The Coalition forces take advantage of the Empire’s overextended lines to take victory after victory by utilizing a new type of fighting machine: Mobile Armor Suits, a humanoid fighting machine much more maneuverable than conventional aircraft and ground units, and effective in most environmental situations.

In an attempt to counter the new threat and reorganize their military efforts, the Empire assembles the 101st Legion, a Special Forces unit with the purpose of using Mobile Armor Suits of Imperial design to counter the Coalition Suits. All the meanwhile, the Krellian Republic continues to watch from a distance, giving unease to both sides.

Though off to a rough start, the 101st Legion has proven to be an effective counter to Coalition Suits and has become the standard to which new Mobile Armor Suit units are designed after. The 101st has received news that the Coalition may be attempting to pull out its Superweapon to bare on the people of the Empire. Despite knowing full well the superstition and misfortune that has revolved around this weapon, the 101st regardless prepares to strike. This is Falling Skies: 7th Mobile Armor Suit Team.

Hello everyone! Welcome to the OOC for "Falling Skies: 7th Mobile Armor Suit Team"! This a spinoff installment of a very old series of mine, formerly known as Operation Crisis (Back at my old RP site). The Crisis Universe has been relatively cannon, events of the previous Operation Crisis (completed or not) helping to shape the universe of this current one. This particular RP will follow the adventures of a group of men and women from the Earth Empire’s 101st Legion. I will be accepting up to five other players, so this is not first come first served. This will be different than the other Crisis RP’s in that this will be a Robo Suit like RP, like Gundam and Robotech, and Super Robot Wars. Unlike typical Gundam series, I aim to make this RP seem more realistic and gritty rather than over-the-top space Gundam maneuvers capable of destroying dozens of enemies.

We the players will play the role of the 7th MAS (Mobile Armor Suit) Team, a special squad from the United Earth Empire 101st MAS Legion, as they venture deep into Coalition Space in order to capture and destroy a Coalition Super Weapon. Our story will be dramatic and tense as we attempt to prevail over insurmountable odds. Our characters will face daunting challenges, testing their wit and willpower, as well as their morals as they are pushed to their absolute limits in this RP that blends humanity with the awesomeness that is giant robot suits.

Terminology and Technology:

  • The United Earth Empire: The United Earth Empire was the originator of the galaxy’s space colonies. Formally known as the United Nations, the United Nations of Earth was formed after humans had first colonized mars. Originally developed to unite humanity against possible hostile extraterrestrials, humanity encountered few alien species, even fewer of which were intelligent. With no need to worry about possible alien attacks, the UNE was free to focus on rapid expansionism, and renamed itself the United Earth Empire, as international differences became less and less important. After the Great War, the shattered remains of the UEE were quick to regroup and reclaimed the majority of the former empire's core worlds with little difficulty. Now one of the largest powers in the galaxy, the UEE is known for its patriotism and solidarity, despite the presence of an unusually large number of corrupt officials.

    The Coalition for a Free Galaxy: The Coalition for a Free Galaxy, better known as just The Coalition was formed shortly after the Great War as a group of colonies' desire to stay separate from the UEE. A loosely tied confederacy of worlds, the Coalition's movement has picked up a large number of worlds against the imperialism and rigidness of the UEE. Due to the fact that they are allied purely to combat against the UEE, competition and rivalries are common between the Coalition Nations. Despite this, their armed forces are able to remain standardized and well equipped to combat the UEE. Well known for their individualism and its dependence on commercialism, the Coalition is constantly trying to dismantle the UEE once and for all.

    The Krellian Republic: Very little is known about the Krellian Republic. They are a reclusive group of fringe world colonies, and were paid little attention to by both the UEE and Coalition. With their proximity to the edge of discovered space, it is believed there is a possibility for them to be in contact with intelligent extraterrestrials, though this notion is widely dismissed as untrue by both the Coalition and UEE. With the Krellian Republic being so far removed from contested space, the galaxy has yet to see the Krellian Military, and many wonder if the Krellians even possess a standing armed force.

  • 101st Special Forces Legion: Only recently initiated but extremely successful, the 101st Legion is the UEE's mechanized fighting force. With heavily specialized training that focuses on not only efficient piloting, but also highly competent infantry tactics, the members of the 101st Legion are notably more individualistic than their standard issue counterparts. Despite their individuality, the members of the 101st are still human and are trained to work well in groups. Analysts have noticed that side effects of these different types of training techniques have often resulted in soldiers that are fiercely loyal to one another, often risking the life and limb of many to save a few. It is noted alarmingly however that this loyalty pertains more to one another than that of the entirety of the UEE. Most members of the 101st utilize heavily customized and personal Mobile Armor Suits, and are considered to be superior in quality and handling.

    Coalition Mobile Armor Division: The Coalition’s Mobile Armor Division was the most dangerous mobile force before the advent of the 101st Legion, and despite the effectiveness of the 101st and the new Mobile Armor units of the UEE, the C-MAD remains the most numerous mobile force in the galaxy. Though their exact numbers are unknown, it is a well known fact that they greatly outnumber the UEE Suits.

    Mobile Armor Suits are the newest development in mechanized armor, capable of besting space-craft as well as ground armor. Mobile Armor Suits, while not as fast as air and spacecraft, are considerably more maneuverable, and can make sharp turns to out maneuver and defeat aircraft. They are also more resilient than conventional ground armor, and are even able to take out space warships when properly equipped.

    Typically standing around 40-50 feet tall, Mobile Armor Suits are large humanoid mechs and can are extremely versatile and able to be equipped with a variety of weapons and armor. Powered by sealed energy cores, these energy cores are immensely powerful and could power a home for several months, however, due to the nature of Mobile Armor Suits, a single energy core typically only provides a few hour’s worth of power, forcing pilots to be tactical about their power usage.
  • Weapons technology has advanced significantly since humanity has entered the stars, but for the most part splits into three main categories.

    Energy/Laser Weaponry: At first rather ineffective and prohibitively expensive, humanity quickly discovered that laser weapons were much cheaper in the long run than typical conventional weapons. Laser weapons are considerably more accurate, lightweight, and lack the need for any sort of ammunition, and are considerably cheaper than their ballistic counterparts. However, despite these perks, laser weapons are rarely used as military grade equipment. While capable of causing serious burns and injuries on unarmored targets, laser weapons are relatively ineffective against body armor and are more fragile and temperamental than their conventional counterparts. Laser Weapons, due to their low cost and light weight are mostly used by police forces and civilian shooters.

    Conventional/Ballistic Weaponry: The mainstay of weapons technology since before humanity entered the stars. Loud, heavy and hard hitting, mass driving technology has made smaller caliber ammunition more and more effective against body armor and flesh. Effective in most situations, ballistic weapons remain one of the more effective and reliable methods of killing other human beings, though it should be noted that new mass driven rounds tend to overpenetrate soft unarmored targets. However, despite their universality, conventional weapons are considerably more expensive due to their needs for parts and ammunition and the methods used to produce these materials. Conventional weaponry is used extensively by both UEE and Coalition military units.

    Plasmatic Weaponry: A very new concept in modern weapons technology, plasma weapons are regarded as a two edged blade. On the one hand, the damage caused by a plasma burst to any surface, flesh, armor, and nature alike is tremendous. On the other hand, plasma weapons are heavy, difficult to maintain, dangerous to reload and fire, and finicky on a good day. Plasma is not a blast of superhot liquid as the name may suggest, but is instead similar to a bolt of energy. Purely Plasmatic weaponry remains mostly experimental and is not often used in modern military units. Current ranged plasma weapons are typically mounted weapons, or ship based weapons. Projectors also make plasma edged weaponry possible.


Mobile Armor Suit Builder:

Since this RP revolves around Mobile Armor Suits, you need to know how to build one. Not actually physically DIY build it in your backyard, but learn the ins and outs of what your MAS needs to be in order to be a MAS.

    Chassis, one of the main determining factors of your MAS and its abilities. Chassis are divided into several categories:

    Ultra Light: Ultra-light MAS's typically stand in at 10-20 feet tall. They have up to 2 Power Cores in their dual core power system, and can support 7 Weight. Ultra Light MAS's are like exoskeletons often act as direct infantry support, similar to an armored car or scout vehicle. They are typically a liability in MAS v MAS combat. Ultra Lights are capable of flight and are the fastest MAS's in production, with ground speeds reaching 120 Mph.

    Light: Light MAS's are typically viewed as the smallest "True" class of MAS. Standing at up to 30 feet in height, these MAS's typically use a tri-core power system, and can support 15 Weight. With their relatively thin armor, Light MAS's typically avoid direct combat and are often used in scout and sniper roles. Light MAS's are the fastest flying MAS's in production, capable of rivaling super sonic jet fighters at max speed. Light MAS's are the only types capable of sustained flight.

    Medium: Medium MAS's are the mainstay and standard class for MAS units. These powerful mecha stand in at anywhere from 40-50 feet in height, and use a quad core power systems, and can support 20 Weight. Combining powerful armor with mobility, Medium MAS's are the versatile standard for frontline units, and can be used in a variety of roles. While capable of limited flight, Medium MAS's are typically incapable of sustained flight.

    Heavy: Heavy MAS's are like their Medium class counterparts, but with considerably more powerful weapons and armor. Standing in at a bulky 50 feet in height, Heavy MAS's use an 6 core power system, and can support 35 Weight. With its heavy armor, Heavy MAS's are incapable of flight, but are essentially walking artillery platforms, capable in both close and long range situations.

    Ultra: Ultra Class MAS's are in a class all their own. Requiring their own special ship to transport them, these machines stand in at 50-60 feet in height, and are heavily custom tailored to meet the needs of their pilot. With powerful defenses and weapons, Ultra Class MAS's are developed for specific roles. Using a unique reactor, Ultra MAS's can often support up to 70 Weight. Ultra Class MAS's are not available for general use, and will not be available to players yet.

    After reading through Chassis, you're probably wondering: What are Power Cores? What does 15 Weight mean?

    MAS's are powered through special clean-nuclear power cells. About the size of a bottle of water, a single core possesses enough energy to power a small home for a few months. However, due to the high energy requirements of MAS's, a single power core typically only provides a few hours worth of operating power. Operation wise, a single power core will provide a MAS with 5 Power units. A MAS's total operating time is "hours = unused power units".

    Example: MAS has 10 power units, and a weapon that consumes 7, MAS has 3 hours of operating time.

    Each Class of MAS can also support a limited amount of weight before it starts training its energy and damaging its body. Weight can be found in any piece of equipment attached to a MAS, extra armor, weapons, shield systems, auxiliary systems, all require some combination of power and weight to use properly.

    Obviously a machine of war needs weapons and armor. This following list will show you types of weapons, and the Weight and Power required to run them. Items not included in this list I will allow you to make yourself, provided you're realistic with them.

    Assault and Primary Weaponry:
    Primary weapons and other weapons typically held by MAS units.
    • Ballistic Weapons: Assault cannons, hand held machine guns, and the like typically have 5 WT (Weight) and cost 2 PWR (power) to run.
    • Energy/Laser Weaponry: Laser cannons, hand held laser weapons, and the like typically have 2 WT and cost 4 PWR to run
    • Plasma Weapons: Plasma launching weapons are extremely devastating, but come at the cost of 7 WT and 7 PWR
    Built in Weaponry:
    Weapons built into the MAS's body, like head mounted MG's and missile pods.
    • Ballistic Weapons: small caliber machine guns and anti personnel/missile weapons typically have 1 WT and costs 1 PWR.
    • Laser Weapons: small scale anti personnel/missile laser weapons typically have negligible 0 WT but costs 2 PWR
    • Missile Launchers: explosive launchers often fitted into the shoulders or legs of a MAS. The size of the explosives vary, but they typically have 3 WT and costs 2 PWR. On the other hand, smaller scale launchers have 1 WT and costs 1 PWR

    Melee Weapons:
    Swords, Axes, and all sorts of medieval implements of death: Modernized.
    • Alloy Weapons: Physical weapons made of powerful metal alloys, they have 5 WT but costs no power. Obviously a smaller weapon (like a dagger) will weigh considerably less (1-3 WT)
    • Plasma Weapons: Weapons with blades made of pure energy, these lightweight weapons have 1 WT, but costs 5 PWR. Alternatively, plasma weapons can come with their own power capacitors, reducing their power draw to 3 PWR, but reducing their operational time to a maximum of 3 hours. (As opposed to the operational time of the MAS)
    • Hybrid Weapons: an alloy weapon with an extra cutting edge made of plasma, this weapon combines the best of both worlds, having 3 WT and costing 3 PWR.


  • Armors, shields and extra systems, this section will give you a quick runthrough at the costs and strengths of different methods of defending your MAS.

    Armor Plating:
    While all MAS's already have their own respective levels of armor, sometimes you just want more.External alloy plates can be added to the outside of your MAS, typically covering the shoulders, forearms, torso, and legs. Its purpose is self explanatory, this armor plating protects your MAS's armor plating, which protects you. Armor plating costs no power.
    • Light Alloy Plating (3 WT) a layer of extra armor over the MAS's arms, shoulders, and legs. A plate of light alloy will survive a single glancing blow from a plasma weapon, and provides limited protection from other weapons but provides little protection from explosives
    • Heavy Alloy Plating (7 WT) a more complex layer of thick armor covering the MAS's extremities, as well as folding over the cockpit when in use. Heavy Alloy plates provide considerably more protection, and are much more durable than light plates. Able to survive a single hit from a plasma weapon, but only provides little protection from explosives.

    Energy Shields:
    Typically the prime method of defending a MAS, a MAS energy shield is a thin barrier of energy that coats the exterior of the MAS. Easily dissipating laser weapons, shields offer varying levels or protection against the more common ballistic and plasma weapons. All shield units have 5 WT, with the exception of Class 1 Shield generators, which have 3 WT, and Class 5 generators, which have 10 WT. All generators come with quick-recharge capacity.

    • Shield Class 1: 3 PWR. A scaled down shield generator, this shield provides defense against high caliber infantry weapons and lightly armed vehicles, but will shatter when hit with a MAS grade weapon of any sort.
    • Shield Class 2: 5 PWR. A standard Shield generator, this shield provides defense against a small amount of MAS grade weapons fire, but will not stand up to sustained fire, or plasma weapons.
    • Shield Class 3: 7 PWR. A more powerful Shield generator, this shield provides protection to limited amoumts of sustained fire, and can take a direct hit from a plasma weapon before collapsing.
    • Shield Class 4: 10 PWR. The most feasibly powerful shield generator in the standard unit, the Class 4 shield provides protection against some sustained fire, and can take a several direct hits from a plasma weapon before failing.
    • Shield Class 5: 15 PWR a large scale shield generator, Class 5 shields are most often mounted on Heavy and Ultra class MAS's. The protection it provides is much higher than that of normal shields, and is able to protect against small amounts of sustained plasma fire before failing.

  • Extra systems to give your MAS an edge in combat.

    External Power Cores: - Used for extended missions or for power intensive weapons and systems, an External Power Core back obviously provides a MAS with extra energy. With the appearance of a large, square backpack for a MAS, an external power pack links an extra dual core powerplant to the MAS, providing +10 PWR at the cost of 5 WT.

    Experimental Reactor: - Often used by newer prototype units, experimental reactors are an improvement to the standard MAS reactor, and effectively doubles the MAS's energy output. Prohibitively expensive, Experimental Reactors are not put onto Mass Production units. Still finicky in design, using an Experimental Reactor comes at a risk, damaging the reactor too much can turn it into a small scale nuclear bomb.

    Improved Suspension System: - Often added to MAS's that require higher weight caps without sacrificing mobility, improving the MAS's suspension allows it to carry more weight at the cost of power. Upgrading the suspension system adds +10 WT support at the cost of 5 PWR

    Tesla Drive: - by equipping a MAS with a Tesla Drive, Light and Ultralight MAS's can fly faster, Medium MAS's can sustain flight, and Heavy MAS's are able to give themselves limited flight capacity. A Tesla Drive system his negligible Weight, but costs 7 PWR. Note that all MAS's can "fly" in space, Tesla Drives are only necessary for in-atmospheric flight.

    Countermeasure System: - Countermeasure systems are often used by lighter MAS's to avoid missiles instead of using body mounted machine guns to intercept them. Using chaff and flares, countermeasure systems are negligible in terms of weight and power, but only has 3 chaff uses, and 2 sets of flares before needing to rearm.

    Enhanced Radar Suite: - effectively doubles the MAS's radar range, Enhanced Radar Suites, as most extra systems, come in two variants, internal and external suites.
    • Internal: An internal suite is built into the the MAS during creation, and therefore has no weight, but draws 3 PWR from the MAS energy system.

    • External: An external suite is often installed after the creation of the MAS, and as a result has 1 WT. They often come with their own power system, and only draws 1 PWR from the MAS energy system. As it is an external system, it is more prone to damage than an internal system.

    Upgraded Targeting Suite: - Increasing the effective range and accuracy of the MAS's weapon system, Upgraded Targeting Suites has a Smart AI that quickly determines range as well as any other environmental factors faster than MAs's the onboard computer, and projects the predicted weapon path on the user's HUD.
    • Internal: Built into the MAS during creation, the targeting suite has no weight, but costs 3 PWR.
    • External: Installed after the creation of the MAS, the external suite has 1 WT, and draws 1 PWR, but can be very easily damaged by small arms fire.
    Sonar Stakes: - Special stakes are attached to the MAS's legs, and when deployed, drive themselves into the ground, both locking the MAS to the ground, and providing a detection distance 5 times that of the standard MAS. It has 1 WT, and costs 2 PWR. Note that it cannot be used in Space, and can only detect targets on the ground.

    Smart-Target AI: - By improving the standard MAS AI with a Smart Targeting AI, MAS's can now acquire multiple targets simultaneously, and can now track up to 40 targets, including missiles, and other MAS's, instead of the standard 5. It has a power draw of 3 PWR.

    Stealth Drive: - Stealth Drives allow a MAS to remain hidden from most scanning and targeting modules, and shields and removes most of the MAS's emissions at the cost of a small amount of maximum thrust. It does not however protect the MAS from visual recognition. Stealth Drives draw 5 PWR.

    Active Camouflage: - A camouflage generator attached to the back of a MAS, it projects a field of particles over the MAS, effectively making it invisible to the human eye, as well as optical scanners, and targeting modules. The generator does not however shield the user from all scanners, and the generator unit itself produces large amounts of heat. Camouflage generators are also notorious for consuming large amounts of energy, and while unable to be used with a external power pack, comes with a small power supply of its own, resulting in 3 WT and 3 PWR. The standard Active Camouflage generator can only continuously produce particles for a single hour before beginning to massively drain the power reserves of the MAS.

    Designation: PTX-051 Sentry MkII M (Mass Produced)
    Role: General Combat
    Chassis: Medium
    Engine: Quad Core Engine. 20 PWR
    Operating Time: 7 Hours
    Description:
    The successor to the original Sentry MAS, the Sentry MkII has replaced the MkI as a general workhorse unit for the UEE. Similar in build quality to the Coalition Ferir, the Sentry MkII is a versatile fighting unit, with no real weaknesses or strengths. Lacking the ability to fly, the MkII serves as the standard ground unit for UEE MAS teams, and comes in standard tan, though many pilots add accents or change the color of their machines.
    Systems:
    M90 50mm Assault Autocannon. 5 WT 2 PWR. - A general purpose machine gun in use by the UEE, the M90 fires 50mm armor piercing rounds from a 250 round magazine. The M90 has a semi-automatic and a 5-round burst mode, and has a fire rate of 600 RPM.
    Micro Missile Launcher. 3 WT 2 PWR - Though lacking a dedicated missile pod, the small launcher system is installed in the Sentry's chest and fires six Micro Missiles. Micro Missiles are projectiles that split into four missiles in mid-air, and have a potent payload for their size. While ineffective against most larger MAS's, Micro Missiles have varying degrees of effect on light vehicles and MAS's
    Dual linked .50 Caliber Machine guns. 1 WT 1 PWR. - A pair of .50 caliber machine guns mounted on the Sentry's chest, these light weapons provide the Sentry with anti personnel and small missile defense. Each machine gun has a 300 round magazine.
    Class 2 Shield Generator. 5 Wt 5 PWR. - The Sentry comes armed with a Class 2 shield Generator on top of its standard armor for defense.
    Combat Tomahawk. 3 WT 3 PWR. - A combat axe used by the Sentry in close quarters. The edge of the tomahawk uses plasma energy to improve its cutting power.

    Designation: FTX-003 Sparrow MkIII M (Mass Produced)
    Role: Rapid Assault
    Chassis: Light
    Engine: Tri Core Engine. 15 PWR
    Operating Time: 7 Hours
    Description:
    Favored by scouts and acrobats for its maneuverability, the Sparrow series of MAS are the UEE's first Mobile armor suit to have sustained flight. The main body is reminiscent of various fighter planes and contains extremely aerodynamic features, with maximum flight speeds reaching over 1000 mph. Though poorly armored when compared to the Sentry, it is capable of performing maneuvers the Sentry could never hope to accomplish.
    Systems:
    P120 20mm Flechette Mass Driver. 5 WT 2 PWR. - A rail-based weapon attached to the Sparrow's arm, the P120 uses an electronic mass driving system to propel its flechettes at extremely high speeds, resulting in an appreciatively effective weapon. The P120 is Semi-automatic, and uses an integrated 120 round magazine. The P120's edges are sharpened, allowing it to be used as a sword.
    Triple barreled .30 Caliber Light Machine Gun 1 WT 1 PWR. - A body mounted machine gun on the Sparrow's torso, used for strafing and anti-personnel purposes.
    Countermeasure System. 0 WT 0 Power. - The Sparrow relies on a combination of speed, maneuverability, and countermeasures to avoid missiles.
    'Shield' Missile Launcher. 5 WT 2 PWR. - A missile launcher attached to the Sparrow's other arm, the Shield launcher fires 6 100mm multi-purpose missiles.     Description:
    The standard Coalition Mobile Armor Suit, the Ferir is one of the first Mobile Armor Suits ever developed, and is the first unit ever developed for combat. Originally only lightly armored and armed, developed for an infantry support role, the Mark I was quickly superseded by the more prevalent Mark II. Heavily armored and easily recognized by its almost alien-like 4 "eyed" sensors, the Ferir Mk II has been in service ever since the start of the 29th Century war. While its aged design raises questions about its capabilities, it has still proved as a serviceable unit for almost 100 years. However, with the advent of the UEE MAS units, the Ferir has begun being phased out by various newer models to combat the new threats. Despite this, the Ferir remains the most common MAS unit in the Galaxy.
    Systems:
    A70 Type-3/5 70mm Assault Autocannon. 5 WT 2 PWR. - A heavy assault weapon utilized by the iconic Ferir, the Type-3 fires a powerful 70mm Armor Piercing round from a 210 round internal magazine. The Type-5 fires the same round from a 1200 round belt fed 'backpack' magazine. The Type-3/5 fires at a rate of 450 rounds per minute, and has a semi-automatic, three round burst, and fully automatic fire modes.
    Hammer Missile System. 3 WT 2 PWR. - A missile launcher system set on top of either or both of the Ferir shoulders, the Hammer Missile System fires large, powerful missiles, effective against most MAS types, as well as lightly armored naval vessels. While slower and easier to dodge than smaller missile systems, the projectiles fired from these launchers are also more difficult to destroy with point defense weapons. Each shoulder can launch up to three of these missiles.
    Alloy Knife. 3 WT 0 PWR - Ideal for close quarters when the 'continuum of force' has been reduced to hand to hand combat. For optimum performance, the leading edge, 'pointy end', should be applied to the enemy and thrust into vital regions. This should be repeated as necessary.
    External Alloy Plating (Heavy). 7 WT 0 PWR - With shields being a more recent technology, energy shielding was unavailable when the Mk II was being designed. While the Ferir Mk III boasts an energy shield, the more common Ferir Mk II utilizes a large coat of heavy plating, with excess armor over all important areas of the MAS. The heavy armor plating results in the bulky, large size the Ferir is known for.
    Tesla Drive. 0 WT 7 PWR - Originally an upgrade for Aces and commanders, Tesla Drives quickly became standard for Ferir Mk II MAS's. The Tesla Drive increased its maneuvering and top speeds in space, its improved handling allowing it to easily outclass the already disadvantaged aerospace fighters. The Tesla Drives are also used in atmosphere as the sturdy Ferir can easily survive a drop into a planet's atmosphere from orbit. the Tesla Drives allow them to essentially para drop onto a planet from space. While in atmosphere, the Tesla Drives also grant the Ferir the power of flight, though the weight and bulk from its armor plating slows it down considerably.

1. This Roleplay will have above average standards. I will be expecting at least a few well written paragraphs, and absolutely NO ONE LINERS.
2. Please do not write in first person.
3. No Mary/Gary Sues, its alright for your character to be a hero, but they're not perfect.
4. No God-modding. Its no fun for anyone. I value your characters, but I will not hesitate to injure them if they do something exceedingly stupid.
5. This RP will have mature content. Violence, foul language, and mature themes are freely allowed. However for the sake of decency any sexual acts will fade to black (or will be taken to PM) before it goes too far.
6. Player Knowledge is not necessarily character knowledge. Just because you know something (be it through OOC or someone else's post) does not necessarily mean your character knows.
7. As GM, my word is law, I will expect you to respect any executive decision I make.
8. If players find a ruling of mine unfair, they are allowed, and encouraged to speak up and offer sound reasoning to dispute my decisions. Provided the discussion is productive, polite, and reasonable, decisions I make may change.
9. As proof of reading the rules, I expect all applicants to make a comment about another player's Character Sheet (including mine), this can be something you like, or constructive criticism to help them improve.


Character Sheets:
The following are the Character Skeletons for the 7th Mobile Armor Suit Team. The CS's are a 2 part set. The first part is your character, the pilot. The second part is your MAS, which you can make using the builder above.

  • Name: Last name, First name
    Age: The minimum age of a pilot fresh out of training is 20
    Gender: Your pilot's gender
    Callsign/Codename: Nickname/Alias your Pilot goes by in combat
    Kills: Your pilot's kill record. Obviously a fresh pilot should have pretty much no kills, whereas a veteran should have more. 'Ace' status is earned at 50 kills. - Note that kills indicate the number of enemy MAS's downed. The Coalition no longer pilots Aerospace fighters.

    Psychological Analysis: Fancy talk for 'Personality'. Give me a good paragraph or so describing your character's personality. Rule of thumb: the more detail, the better.

    Military Record: Your Character's background. Again, give me a few good paragraphs describing your character's history. Again, the more detail, the better.

    Equipment: Any equipment your character carries on his or her person. Extra flight equipment, sidearms, etc.

  • Appearance: Your MAS's appearance. In this case, an image would be more appealing than text, and a combination of image and text can be used.
    Designation: The name of the MAS model as well as its production type (M - Mass Produced, P - Prototype, C - Custom, SO - Special Operations, etc.)
    Role: It's combat role, CQC, scouting, demolitions, etc
    Chassis: its size class, Ultra Light - Heavy
    Engine: Power cores in the MAS and the power provided
    Operating Time: Hours = Unused Power Units
    Description: Technobabble about your MAS, regarding its strengths, weaknesses, purpose, role, etc.

  • I am a personal fan of smaller scale RPs, as such, I will only be accepting 4-5 other players to join me in this adventure. While you are free to make your character however you like, acceptance to this RP will be judged by me, and is not on a first come, first served basis. While not necessary, there are several roles I would like to see filled:

    • The Captain/Naval Officer - This player will be unique in that instead of flying a MAS with the rest of the team, he will command the Carrier of Capital Ship that houses the MAS Team. This player has the option of creating his own Capital Ship and escorts, or using the ones that I will provide. This player will likely (but not necessarily) serve as my Co-GM and will be privy to information before the other players.

    • The FNG (The Fucking New Guy) - This player should be among the youngest members of the team, as well as the least experienced. He has many roles, such as serving as the pseudo focus of the RP as the 'impressionable youngster', as well as likely having a brighter, likely more positive outlook than the rest of the gritty, scarred veterans that make up the rest of the team. He will either be broken down mentally and physically and reforged into a newer, stronger person through the fires of war, or serve as a beacon of hope for the rest of the team. - The new guy will also be flying a custom MAS that I have built for him for a little while before he flies his own.

    • The Team Leader - This player will be relatively new to leading his/her team. S/he will either be recently promoted from within the squad, or recently assigned to lead the squad. This player will have responsibilities as the Team's leader, and will have to manage and deal with the clashing personalities of the squad- as well as the difficulties some of the NPC pilots may give him/her

    The rest of of the roles will be normal squad members, with preferably varied personalities and MAS's to keep this RP fresh and unique.

    Standing in at 6'2, and weighing roughly 200 lbs. Sterling posses an imposing athletic build, with lightly tanned skin, pock marked with various scars from old battles. His jet black hair is short and he typically keeps his facial hair clean and professional. He has an angular face, with prominent features and cool grey eyes, his mouth typically curled into a wry smile. He has a small tattoo of hexagonal shaped circuits on his left forearm.

    Psychological Analysis:
    Confident and aggressive, this hot-blooded pilot is always ready for a fight and is eager to jump into his MAS. Impatient and short-tempered, but cheerful and friendly, Sterling is a good natured man with strong feelings of camaraderie towards team mates. Lighthearted and friendly, Sterling is is casually boastful of his abilities, and works well with his fellow pilots. Though his lack of professionalism often garners him the disapproval of higher ranking officers, they typically let it slide after seeing his combat data.

    Military Record:
    A former UEE Medevac pilot, Sterling was an only child, son to Admiral McKnight and a civilian mother. With a strong military background, Sterling had a fairly rigid childhood, as his parents sent him to military academies for most of his youth, hoping to straighten out mischievous and troublesome tendencies, with limited results. As a youth Sterling was well known as the school clown and jokester, rarely taking any of his classes seriously. Nevertheless, Sterling got good grades, and upon graduating from the UEE Military Institute on the Fortress Planet Cerol, Sterling was sent to the Earth for specialized training.

    On Earth, Sterling was slotted to become a Space Medevac pilot, where his daring personality and determination would overcome the typical fear and apprehension of flying into a hot zone. As a Medevac pilot, Sterling proved to be quite daring in his rescue attempts. In fact, the top brass found him to be too daring, willing to risk life and destruction of space craft in order to rescue even the smallest number of wounded soldiers. These daring, and at times suicidal rescue missions often resulted in him crashing his craft, and earned him the callsign "Psycho". After crashing his 5th USC-90 SpaceHawk Medevac, Sterling "Psycho" McKnight was slated for discharge due to his reckless behavior.

    Instead of being discharged however, a 101st recruiter requested the reckless pilot be transferred to the 101st Legion. Sterling found himself right at home inside the heavily armored cockpit of a Mobile Armor Suit, saving his comrades through volume of fire instead of reckless flying, though many noted that the reckless flying was still quite present. Quickly racking up an impressive kill count, as well as an unorthodox but effective fighting style, Sterling was quickly assigned to the 7th MAS Team, where he has been for the past 3 years.
    Equipment:Along with his flight suit, Sterling carries a .45 caliber service pistol, as well as a 5.7mm PDW and combat knife.

    Designed as an upgrade to the standard Sentry, the Sentinel is built for assault and heavy combat situations. With its thicker armor, and more potent weapons, the Sentinel maintains the versatility of the Sentry, with an added focus on staying power. Like the Sentry, it is incapable of full flight, but can use its boosters to both jump large heights, hover over the ground, and boost forward.
    Systems:
    M290 50mm Support Autocannon. 5 WT 2 PWR. - A machine gun in use by the UEE designed for prolonged engagement and sustained fire, the M290 fires 50mm armor piercing rounds from a 500 round internal belt/box magazine. The M290 has semi-automatic, 5-round burst, and fully automatic modes of fire and has a fire rate of 750 RPM.
    Claymore Missile System. 3 WT 2 PWR. - A missile launcher system set into both upper leg portions of the Sentinel. Launching 6 Claymore missiles from each leg, these small missiles pack a large punch, capable of downing most Light and Medium class MAS's with 1 or 2 missiles.
    Head Mounted .50 Caliber Machine Gun. 1 WT 1 PWR. - A .50 caliber machine guns mounted on the Sentinel's head, this light weapon provides the Sentinel with anti personnel and small missile defense. It has a 200 round magazine.
    Forearm Blades. 2 WT 0 PWR - A short, sword like implement that extends from the McKnight's Sentinel's forearm guards, these forearm blades give the MAS CQC melee potential. While lacking the plasma cutting edge of the Sentry's tomahawk, the initial force of launching the blades out of the forearm guards make it capable of piercing thick armor.
    Class 3 Shield Generator. 5 WT 7 PWR - With a higher level shield generator than the standard Sentry, the Sentinel improves its overall staying power.
    External Alloy Plating (Light). 3 WT 0 PWR - Due to Sterling's more reckless nature, he decided that installing extra plating to improve the Sentinel's defensive capabilities would be a smart idea.
    Smart-Target AI. 0 WT 3 PWR - Another custom addition made by Sterling to aid him in close combat.

    Cool and professional, Tori Astelion shows the innate ability to think and react to arising situations with extreme efficiency. Analytic and possessing an almost savant-like intuition, Tori regularly makes the unthinkable a reality, and is highly praised for her ability to think outside the box. With her unorthodox strategies, and near chilling natural confidence Astelion has been regarded as one of the best pilots in the 101st. As a Squadron Leader, she is highly demanding, but fair, and encourages her team to push themselves to the limit on a regular basis.

    Military Record:
    Current Squadron Leader for the 7th Mobile Armor Suit Team, Tori was born in the UEE Capital World of Earth. Born to a family of laborers, it was assumed that Tori and her fraternal twin Rickard would become just another one of the billions of cogs on Earth that would be lost to the crowd. However, the twins seemed to have different aspirations than becoming mere laborers. The Astelion Children, through raw talent and hard work wew able to ace their way through primary and secondary education systems, and managed to land themselves spots in the once prestigious, now legendary, Wespoint Military Academy.

    Graduating at the top of her class, Tori was immediately selected for the UEE MAS program, with her ever present brother following shortly afterwards. Both twins showed a high aptitude for MAS piloting, though it was clear that Tori showed the most potential, well disciplined, with a larger pool of raw talent, as well as a surprising intuition. Scoring top simulator marks for Light class MAS's, Tori and her brother were assigned to the 101st Legion, and were then transferred to the 7th MAS team.

    Quickly racking up an impressive kill count, Tori quickly established herself as the Squadron Ace, and was nicknamed 'Rabbit' for her quick and aggressive combat style. Eventually, when the 7th team's Squadron Leader was phased out due to injuries, Tori was the first to be considered to assume control of the 7th MAS Team. Taking on the role of Squadron Leader, Tori has lead the 7th MAS team admirably for the past 4 years.

    A heavily customized Sparrow-B unit flown by 7th MAS Team leader Tori Astelion, the unit was redesignated 'Astelion' by both its engineering crew, and the squadron, claiming that the name 'Sparrow' did it injustice. Customized to reach top speeds well over that of a standard Sparrow, as well as doubling its maneuvering capabilities, the versatile Astelion performs adequately at all engagement ranges, with an emphasis on movement speed.

    Systems:
    X-50 Plasma Booster. 7 WT 7 PWR. - A plasma-based weapon mounted on the Astelion's shoulders, custom designed by Tori Astelion herself, the X-50 is a dual purpose plasma weapon and booster unit. Enabling rapid acceleration, the X-50 allows the Astelion to reach its Mach 1 maneuvering speed in seconds, and allows for a maximum speed of 1250 mph. As a weapon, it fires twin blasts of deadly plasma bolts from its orange 'capacitors', which open to reveal its weapon barrels. The Astelion cannot fire the X-50 and use it to maneuver at the same time.
    Triple barreled Arm Autocannon 1 WT 1 PWR. - An arm mounted three-barreled autocannon firing 30mm Armor Piercing rounds from an internal 480 round magazine and a 900 rounds per minute rate of fire.
    Countermeasure System. 0 WT 0 Power. - The Astelion relies on a combination of speed, maneuverability, and countermeasures to avoid missiles.
    Forearm Daggers. 2 WT 0 PWR - A pair of small blades extending from the Astelion's forearms give it melee potential. Custom tailored to have serrated straight edges by Astelion.

I believe that in the coming days as I proceed with this individual study I can come to more of a conclusion as to who this girl really is..." the doctor said before the recorder ended.

    The Recording picked up again as the date read a day later.

    "Ok, I have with me Monica and I am ready to begin the base examination with her. Monica, I am having this recorded for future notice that this was infact done on the Ten Year basis of you being in the service." The doctor said. Monica could be heard laughing "Of course Doctor. Has it been ten years already? Am I truly Twenty Eight now? Wow.... To think of what all has happened.." She said before the doctor began speaking again. "Yes, it has been ten years Monica. Now, If you do not mind. Would you be able to tell us who you are?" The doctor asked before going silent. A chair could be heard moving and the noise of someone putting something on a table was heard. "Do not mind me doctor.. I hope you do go crazy when I start rambling.. I just have to get comfortable.. We will be here for awhile." Monica said to the doctor.

    Nearly a minute passed without a noise before Monica began to speak "Well, Obviously you know me as Monica Gerten... That is who I am but the story behind my life isn't as simple as the name." She began before taking a deep breath and sighing. "My early life wasn't anything that special. Both of my parents served.. I followed in their foot steps. But to look at what truly makes me, me we would need to look at my High School life. I grew up a very athletic girl that surpassed beyond count in Martial arts and in Boxing believe it or not. I may not look like a strong girl but I rely on speed where I can not use force. Which leads me to my many fights in high school when people tried to abuse my emotional sensitivity.." She said with a slightly laugh. "I can easily tell you I made sure that they got the message." She said before another noise was heard as if someone was putting their feet onto a chair nearby. "Would you say, Monica, that you were an aggressive person... are you one now?" The doctor asked her. "Doctor, I left that part of me in the past. I purposely isolated my emotions in a part of my mind that I rarely visit.. I cant let myself feel to often in my line or work.. Some people take the distant route of fighting.. I fight up close where I can see the Pilots blood seep out of the ruined Suit." Monica said bluntly without a sound of emotion in her voice.

    The noise of writing could be heard before the doctor spoke up again "Would you say that your past has influenced your emotional separation?". "Very much it has.. I would feel horrible after hitting them that I would barely be able to function afterward. Knowing full well of this I couldn't let it all come into reality when in combat... now.. could I?" Monica stated plainly to the doctor. "Well, Monica... I believe that to feel something is what life is about. You need to feel anger to drive yourself.. Love to feel for others..-" The doctor was able to say before Monica cut her off "Love! Hah!" She said showing the slightest sign of emotion. "What has love done for me? It has done nothing but hurt me in all I have done.. I do not love those.. I respect them... I work with them... I fight along side them.. I will not let my heart out to be stabbed again.." She said before going quiet. Several minutes passed before the Doctor spoke up "Alright, I think that is enough for today." she said before the Recorder turned off.

    The next recording was dated for two days after the last.

    "Alright, Monica I have brought you back in today to continue where we left off two days ago. Are you ready to continue?" The doctor asked Monica. The noise of a chair being dragged over was heard "If we must.." Monica said slowly. "Of course, I was ordered to do this after your last mission. You witnessed the death of half your former squad. How do you feel about that? I know it is not the first time you watched parts of your squad get destroyed in front of you." The doctor said to her. Monica sighed "Yes, I watched my team get destroyed.... That was nearly five months ago and they are just getting ready to reassign me.." She mumbled. The doctor began writing again "Yes, They are. Let us talk on your military Exploits and short comings as well as your.. sights during your history." She said to Monica. Monica cleared her throat "Well, I enlisted when I was eighteen and due to my high testing scores and ability to think I was selected after passing basic to undergo training as a pilot. My training went by easy.. Left me somewhat hurt by the intensity of it all but none the less stronger." Monica said before taking a breath. "My first mission in a Light Suit went well enough I could say.. I took a beating and was injured.. but I survived unlike many of my squad mates.. I watch their suits take direct hits from a Heavy suit laying siege to us. We didn't stand a chance." She said before sighing highly. "That was when I began to approach things differently." Monica continued.

    The noise of writing was heard once more "How so? What changed?" The doctor asked her. Monica could be heard cracking her knuckles "My thoughts towards attachment... Now we will drop that subject... I was taken back aboard our carrier and I was left in the infirmary for several days before being given a new suit to pilot. This time.. it was a Medium suit.. It was at this time that I began to come into reality as to what my purpose was." She said and gave a little giggle. "I was to be the shield... The hammer of the empire..." She said before a noise was heard with her chair. "I was to be the blade.. the tip of the spear so to say.. I was to be the cutting edge of a long sword." She continued before calming herself. "I apologize doctor.. I was getting emotional." Monica said suddenly. The doctor cleared her throat "You took it upon yourself to be a light... I take it." She asked Monica. "That is correct, Doctor. I was the light of our carrier.. Even as those around me died and other pilots broke I stood as a beacon of light that shined out... I became.. a 'Justicar'... Or Paladin... Whichever you wish to call me." She said before the noise of her sitting down again was heard.

    "I take it you have seem many people die around you.. Let us move on to your exploits." The doctor said before writing once more. Monica laughed "Oh, Yes.. My exploits. Let us begin with my first kill. I ripped the Light Mecha to pieces in my Medium suit. I watched the Pilot die instantly and the blood seep through the cracks. It was... invigorating." Monica said with a odd Fervor in her voice. The doctor began to write again "Did you take enjoyment out of that? Do you enjoy seeing people die?" the doctor asked her. Monica sighed "No, I do not at all. It brings me an adrenalin rush during combat but I do not wish to see people butchered needlessly. I would fight to defend myself if I could and only do that like I did during high school. Now I must reach out and clutch the enemy by the neck and tear their spinal cord out." She said without emotion causing the doctor to begin writing again.

    "Now.. Monica I understand you are an 'Ace'. Is this correct?" The doctor asked her. "Oh, That is very much correct doctor. In my eight years as a Pilot I have destroyed a grand total of Fifty Seven enemy Mecha units." She said with a sense of pride in her voice. "I did it all in close combat as well.." She continued. The doctor began to write again "Now... What of your disciplinary record. I know there are two offenses on you." The doctor said to Monica. "Yes, I at the beginning still allowed my emotions cloud my judgement. When I awoke and learned most of my team was killed I lashed out at our commander for sending us into an area that intelligence knew was heavily guarded. I.. Struck him and was punished for it. I spent two days in the Brig as it was my first offence and the man felt sorry for me.. I wish he didn't go easy on me.." She mumbled at the end. "The next was four years ago now.. about half way through my career here in the Mecha Core..." She said before continuing. "I spent my time drinking.. something I have not done much of these past three and a half years for obvious reasons. I let myself get upset and started a fight with a group of Infantry that ended in a near full scale Bar Fight that engulfed a floor of our carrier. I was punished severely for this action... I spent three weeks in the Brig and was grounded for a month. I must be thankful though.. My Squad suffered six casualties the next mission.." She said before going silent once more. Several minutes passed and the doctor sighed "We will try to finish tomorrow.". The recorder shut off and all fell silent.

    "Okay, Monica we will finish this up in the next few minutes here. I just have a few questions regarding your combat style and what you deliver and have delivered for your teams in the past." She said to Monica as the noise of a chair being moved closer was heard. "Yes, My combat style is that of a Knight... I earned the title Justicar not just because I held together through hell.. I earned it as I fight entirely up close and personal with my enemies.. It is something that has landed me hospitalized for weeks.. but my current suit has lasted me... six years.. I feel bonded to it beyond any reasonable doubt.. I use whatever I can get a hold of to rend and rip apart my targets.." She mumbled. The doctor began to write once more "Now, What do you bring to the table." She asked Monica. "I bring quiet honestly... I do not talk much anymore.. I mean.. I want to but I don't feel like I should get close to those in my team. I find it hard to connect with people as I am afraid that if I do I will have to watch them die." she said quietly.     Based on interviews with other test-pilots and his superiors, along with a battery of personality tests, Pilot Juho Jalmari Juutilainen or Top Hat as he is called, appears to be of a sound frame of mind.

    He is confident, industrious, thoughtful in his actions and not without a hint of arrogance or pride in his own abilities; traits suitable for a test-pilot.

    Military Record:

    Juutilainen enlisted in the United Earth Empire armed forces at eighteen and due to a high level of mechanical aptitude as well as his young age, he received training as a MAS mechanic. He served with distinction for almost two years as a mechanic with the 101st Legion, despite frequent and vocal complaints of boredom at his posting. Eventually, after repeated attempts Juutilainen was allowed to transfer to pilot school, the evaluating officer remarking that the young man had an unusually sharp sense of vision. Throughout his training, Juutilainen displayed natural talents as a pilot and he graduated near the top of class 43C in 2879.

    Reassigned to the 101st Legion, Juutilainen received further training as a Heavy MAS pilot. In the year that followed his posting, Juutilainen participated in seven months of brutal fighting that sent both the Coalition and the UEE reeling. Despite a disastrous first sortie that left him floating in space with a powerless MAS, Juutilainen learned quickly and at the year's end his score had risen to a respectable 6 MAS kills. Demonstrating outstanding piloting skills and combat leadership, in short order Juutilainen looked to be one of the rising stars within the 101st. During his second to last sortie, he achieved a remarkable feat and became what the Terra based fighter pilots of wars past had called "an ace in a day" after he downed 5 enemy mechs in a single sortie. However, on his 61st mission Juutilainen's Sentry MkII M suffered a critical reactor failure and although he managed to eject, he was severely wounded and spent several months convalescing in a UEE military hospital.

    Upon his recovery Juutilainen was transferred to the 504th Technical Evaluation Unit as a natural outcome of his status as an experienced combat pilot and MAS mechanic. A shadowy unit, steeped in subterfuge and classified files, well into the war with the Coalition the 504th remains a highly classified military unit within the UEE armed forced. With the only information publicly available about the unit vaguely alluding to the fact that the personnel of the TEVU are tasked with evaluating new technological developments and testing prototype mobile armor suits

The TZ-17 is one of Van Lierde's prototype Smart AI units. Coined Erasmus, the AI increases the effective range and accuracy of the Thunderbolt's weapon systems by quickly determining range as well as other factors that affect accuracy before projecting the predicted weapon path onto the HUD of the pilot in much less time than the onboard computer of the MAS would.

    > Initial Testing : On a somatic level, subject responded well to reflex and recognition. 30-minute recalling of events was mostly integral; subject took note of extraneous details. Subtle teming throughout was identified by the third trial. Demeanour remained largely neutral and steel-faced throughout. Analysis suggests that the subject pays attention to detail and quickly forms a larger picture, but skims over general visuals. Facial and emotional recognition results yields premise that subject does not read visual emotions well.

    > Battle Observations : 'Storm' responds to situations with his own particular brand of approach. Can follow and overall objective plan, but sperately interprets how to solve those issues. May thinly regard or disobey orders, does not respond kindly or properly to direct commands. When aiming for objectives, he'll largely use his own approach. Even in the face of other individual's objectives, he may interfere to use his own methods.

    That being said, 'Storm' isn't amiss from a team formation. He acknowledges his allies and their aid, often allowing them to their own devices without his interference. Aforementioned interference only seems to occur if his previous objective is complete, or if his allies or their objective is compromised. This is especially prevalent in the face of enemy Suits. Overall, 'Storm' has a personal objective equivalent to fulfilling the mission as well as can be afforded under his circumstances.

    In regards to actual actions on the battlefield, 'Storm' is capable for using his MAS to do frequently attempt things the average model would have issue with. The most often seen course of action is one of the more direct approaches. Combat is not approached strategically, but not recklessly. Most fighting seems to be done on impulses, gauging what is best used at the time. An important aspect to take note of is that he doesn't see an enemy MAS as an obstacle, simply a priority, a psychological aspect that seems to narrowly improve his performance.

    > Psychological Survey : Subject seems to deny external observations of despression or mental trauma. Suggestions that he held a secluded, reserved nature were not refuted. Claims to not "think in the long-term." Subject has no physical injuries of note than seem to reverberate with him, but may be observed to have a suppressed PTSD towards the 8th Warfighter's fall. In regard to present battle observations, the subject notes that completing the mission is a priority, but is best done through enemy elimination. Holds poor ideas of razing and glassing for undisclosed but easily implied reasons.

    When asked of his disposition towards enemy Suits, the subject responded that he couldn't fear them. "You don't have time to fear, in battle. Things pop up, and you just have to deal with them however you can. If you have fears or doubts, you're letting emotions drive the Suit. And you can't drive a machine with your emotions."

    Subject also holds the sort of respect and acknowledgement of his team as would be expected of a MAS pilot, while he doesn't seem to hold the best regards to COs or commanders. Behavior is similar in exhibition to that of the average of the 101st Legion. Combat behavior, however, seems to suggest a subtle enjoyment of the heat of battle, akin to an 'adrenaline high' observed in several other similar-behaving pilots. Based on his disposition and combat records, suggestion is to seclude the subject in a close-knit squadron rather than a wider militia posting.

    Military Records:
    - 2884 AD : Adrian Harvey's initial conscription into the military. Undergoes basic military field training before moving to specialize in Mobile Armor Suit use. Slated for the then primely formed 101st Legion.

    - 2888 AD : Harvey is a successful graduate into the 101st Legion. He is assigned a then-prototype MAS for field testing and usage. Results are mixed, between poorly-defined training, faulty machines and lack of proper armament against Coalition machines. Only 1 recorded enemy Suit kill, after an entire squad ambushed it.

    - 2889 AD : Assault operation on the "Orion's Belt" Coalition orbital platform ends in disaster. Near-entirely of the 8th Warfighter Fleet is decimated by Coalition forces. The EENS Nikola Tesla, Overseer-class carrier, is the only returning craft after a terrible loss. Harvey, severely injured in the battle, is placed in intensive care and recovery. Many pilots and soldiers of the event regard it in scorn of their leaders, in hopeless disdain for the war or in outright terror from trauma. The loss prompted a boost in military contractions for large-scale creation of better military vehicles, and supported the UEE's foray into all-out war again.

    - 2892 AD : After repeated testing and recovery records, Harvey is approved for returning service in the military. Initially, he is placed in a field training facility to refresh his knowledge of MAS combat and update him on improved feel and construction of MAS models. His newer combat tendencies, as well as his habit for dissension from his commanders, takes root here.

    - 2893 AD : Harvey returns to full military service, serving in several major co-op efforts. His style of reckless jet-powered combat and disregard of typical formation and orders earns Harvey 8 more MAS kills, as well as several wreckages and the disapproval of superiors and some peers. With some debate, consideration and testing, Harvey is enlisted into the 7th Mobile Armor Suit team. Shortly afterwards, Harvey is issued a PTX-045 Mk.III and claims the current codename of 'Storm'.

    - 2895 AD : Storm racks up and astounding 20 more enemy MAS kills in his machine before it is destroyed in a major operation. The previous team leader is phased out from injuries, but Storm insists on continuing service. He finally returns to the fray in a customized PTX-045 Mk.IV.

    - 2899 AD : Present day. Harvey has proceeded to rack up an incredible 60 kills over his time in service, more than half being in his most recent machine. Despite (or perhaps because of) his reputation as a loose yet notably solid cannon, he remains an important aspect in the team structure as an Ace pilot.

Psychological Analysis: Constantine is a very simple individual in a way that gives him a mild form of depth. He values life above all else, to the point he’s willing to kill to protect his own. It’s a bit of a conundrum – a man who values life but is more than willing to kill? Strange. Definitely strange. To say he’s a rebel is a bit of an overstatement, but he does have a penchant for self-preservation above all else. Will he disobey orders? No, he’s a loyal soldier. Will he follow through with orders that are most assured to get him killed? Yes, but only after he ‘alters’ it to boost his survivability. Yet, beneath this seemingly selfish demeanor lies a good-natured person who gets along pretty well with those around him. He’s fond of joking and taking it easy, aiming to live his life to the fullest and enjoy it while he can, though he has been condescending every now and then, but very rarely.

Military Record: Constantine was never truly the ‘ideal’ soldier. In fact, he made it through basic training through sheer luck. Back then, he was a young know-it-all who didn’t think twice to talk back to his superiors and tended to get in fights with the other recruits. But, as time went on, he lost that ‘rebellious’ mentality. It was something no one saw coming – an attack on their base. It came like a thief in the night and barely anyone was prepared for it. So, when he saw his fellow recruits being gunned down by traitors, he realized he didn’t know it all. He didn’t know about what he had gotten himself into. Yet, his commanding officer, who he tended to piss off, gave his life to protect him – taking three bullets in the back as he ordered Constantine to play dead so maybe, just maybe, the young recruit would live on.

And, for once, Mr. Know-It-All did as he was told. And he lived. After the traitors were dealt with, the base was deemed unsafe and Constantine and the surviving recruits were transferred to a different training facility. And it was there that Constantine was melded into a true soldier – being trained in unarmed combat, side arms and primaries. He endured the physical hell that was training, and even as his body hated it and cried out against how hard he pushed himself, he knew he couldn’t give up. He was a changed man – he knew he wasn’t in some game, and that, even if the commanding officers came off as harsh and cruel, he knew that they had the best intentions of all recruits in their hearts.

It wasn’t long before his training was complete and he was put in an ‘advanced’ squadron, his dedication putting him at the top of his class. He was somewhat proud as he was shipped off to join the UEE’s Special Forces where he was forced to endure two years of hell, honing his combat skills even further, before he was sent out onto his first, and last, mission.

It was supposed to be something simple – data recovery. A platoon of five, him included, were to sneak into a high security complex and recover some files for the UEE. Unfortunately, everything went to hell when the platoon leader stepped on a mine inside the complex and the squad realized it was an ambush. Assuming combat formations, they fought their way through the building, though they were steadily picked off one by one. As Constantine and the last member of the platoon took cover, a grenade was lobbed in their direction and it exploded upon contact, killing his partner.

Taking advantage of the situation – knowing he was outnumbered – Constantine played dead until most of the opposite left, leaving only a skeleton crew to protect the data. Utilizing his training, the last surviving member of the squad was able to acquire and escape with the data. As he made it to extraction and detailed everything that happened, he was ‘apprehended’ for ‘cowardice in the line of duty’.

At his trial he made it clear that he had no problem with dying, but he wouldn’t just do something stupid that would lead to him being killed. Taking this into consideration, the tribunal gave him a decision – be sent back to Earth for official punishment, or pilot a prototype MAS, allowing him to ‘redeem’ himself as a soldier. Taking the latter, Constantine was sent to the facility where he was acquainted with the prototype MAS – The MK1P Archangel.

Having always been a ground forces soldier, Constantine is very new when it comes to being a MAS pilot, making him somewhat of an experienced rookie.

He was a bit put-off when he was ordered to undergo even more training, to qualify him to pilot a MAS. He was a bit relieved though to find that it didn't require as much physical conditioning as Basic Training and UEE's Special Forces Training. Within a year, he had become firmly associated with the basic controls and maneuvers of MAS, having slightly above average grades in his class.

Then, he was allowed 6 months to become familiar with the weight and controls of the MK1P Archangel before he was transferred to the 7th MAS Team of the 101st MAS Legion.

Equipment: He still has all of his equipment from his time in Special Forces:
An OTS-33 Pistol - Modifications: Silencer, Full-Auto Switch, Aiming Laser and an Under-Gassed Gas System to assist in the conservation of ammo via decreasing the weapon fire rate, while adding a bit more 'punch'.
A combat knife with serrated edges.
Phantom Boots - Specially designed combat boots that have magnets in the soles and vamp of the boots. They also come modified with lower power thrusters designed to assist a soldier in getting to cover when under fire or generally moving quicker. Description: The Archangel is designed to be a support unit, aimed to remain under the radar while proving covering fire for the team. It is also ideal for recon, its quick speed and sniper rifle allowing it to scope out and mark targets for a distance before the main team begins their advance/assault.

Systems:

High-Powered Ballistic Cannon. 5WT. 2PW. Using high caliber rounds, this rifle is capable of firing off one shot per every five seconds, though the weapon's recoil advises against taking advantage of its high fire rate. Sporting a 10 round armor piercing magazine, this weapon is ideal for long range encounters.

Wrist-Mounted .50 Caliber Ballistic Turrets – Codenamed: Mikhail. 1WT 1PW. Using shoulder and head mounted turrets as a basis, the Archangel has been equipped two turrets, one on each wrist, which provides it with anti-personnel and small missile defense. It has a 200 round magazine, with 100 rounds in each turret

Dual Forearm Blades. 4 WT 0 PWR – Two short, sword like implement that extends from the Archangel’s forearm guards, these forearm blades give the MAS CQC melee potential. While lacking the plasma cutting edge of the Sentry's tomahawk, the initial force of launching the blades out of the forearm guards make it capable of piercing thick armor. The Archangel’s design team shamelessly ripped the design from McKnight’s Custom Sentinel. (I’ll admit I shamelessly got the idea for this from Myke’s Sentinel, hence why I credited it. I hope that’s Okay. Also, I hope this counts for the ‘referencing another character’s CS’ thing in the rules.)

Shield Class 1. 3WT 3 PWR. – A scaled down shield generator, this shield provides defense against high caliber infantry weapons and lightly armed vehicles. Taking the risks into consideration, the design team thought it best to use a lower class shield as Archangel is designed for recon and support.

Countermeasure System: - Having no real defense against an onslaught of missiles, the development team decided to implement a countermeasure system, hoping Archangel's thrusters and chaff would be enough to prevent it from being destroyed.

    Descended primarily from the old African Americans of the ancient United States of America, Logan White stands six feet tall weighing approximately 190 pounds. His muscles are well developed and lean, though they are not enormous, a decision he made to stand out from his brothers. His skin is mocha-colored, though his eyes closely approach the color of pure black, as does his incredibly short yet curly hair.

    Psychological Analysis:

    Evaluation by Colonel Grenning, PhD and Head Instructor;
    White was unusually positive during training and demonstrated a surprising amount of leadership capability for his young age. When subjected to the usual brutal psychological batteries and rigors of pilot training, the young man seemed to not give an inch to the testers and instructors. A few of the instructors expressed dismay at his optimism, often telling him to wipe that "goddamned smile" off his face. Despite this, he was nearly top of his class. Personally I think White's ability to connect with others is a strength. It allowed him to subvert a number of our usual attempts at instilling competitiveness into the class, to turn our mind games on their head. I believe he may also be politically inclined, as the man appears to change his demeanor on occasions where it would benefit him, such as when dealing with one of the more outspoken and brash cadets. This cadet eventually became an asset to White. I'm not entirely sure what goes on in that man's head, but whatever it is, we need more of it in my opinion.


    Personal Testimony by Logan White;
    Who am I? That's not an easy question to answer, I don't think. I'm a lot of things. We're all of a lot of things. And that set of things is constantly changing. But right now I'm just Logan White, a man about to fly MASs for the UEE. There's really not all that much to me, personally. I have hobbies, yeah, and things I like and whatnot, but I wouldn't say I stand out too much. People tell me graduating nearly top of the class is this huge accomplishment, but I think graduating period is the accomplishment. We keep overlooking the ones who pass near the back. I've heard numerous cadets talk about them with such arrogance and egos, and I hold my tongue and pretend to like them to keep them on my side, but it does anger me. We're all in this together, and when metal is raining down from Hell, I don't care how well the man or woman next to me did in school. I care whether or not they are my brother or sister, and whether or not they have my back. Because the Coalition sure as fuck doesn't care about how close to the top you were.


    Military Record:

    Born of two officers serving the UEE Army, Logan was practically destined to serve in the military. Much of his youth involved leapfrogging around the UEE with his parents, going from station to station. This constantly forced him to adapt to new situations and make new friends quickly, and ultimately helped to forge him into the man he is now. That, and the near-military-level training his parents gave him and his brothers throughout their entire lives. They had determined long ago that their children would serve as they did, and so they pushed them and built them up, preparing them for war. Logan himself learned to how to handle firearms at an early age, firing his first when he was seven.

    Eventually though, it came time for him to join, and with the help of his parents, he managed to get an opportunity to prove his worth and try out for MAS training. Acing the exams, he was shipped off to school. He would go on to graduate close to the top of his class, and be chosen as fresh blood for the 101st Legion. White has, however, not seen actual combat yet.


    Equipment: White carries the usual standard-issue semiautomatic 9mm pistol, as well as a survival knife.

    Description:
    The successor to the original Sentry MAS, the Sentry MkII has replaced the MkI as a general workhorse unit for the UEE. Similar in build quality to the Coalition Ferir, the Sentry MkII is a versatile fighting unit, with no real weaknesses or strengths. Lacking the ability to fly, the MkII serves as the standard ground unit for UEE MAS teams, and comes in standard tan, though many pilots add accents or change the color of their machines.

    M90 50mm Assault Autocannon. 5 WT 2 PWR. - A general purpose machine gun in use by the UEE, the M90 fires 50mm armor piercing rounds from a 250 round magazine. The M90 has a semi-automatic and a 5-round burst mode, and has a fire rate of 600 RPM.

    Class 2 Shield Generator. 5 Wt 5 PWR. - The Sentry comes armed with a Class 2 shield Generator on top of its standard armor for defense.

    "Following my interview with the Commander I have a few things to point out from the notes I took."

    -Commander Reid is a man of stoic disposition, almost like a statue in some of the most intense moments.
    -He is level headed and gets straight to the point, no "sugar-coating" necessary.
    -His 21 years in the EEN has filled him with extremely valuable experience in both commanding a craft and in waging war.
    -Easily one of the most versed commanders when it comes to all the positions of a ship the EEN may have left.
    -He is a caring individual, apparently known to sit down with individuals of his crew no matter the rank and help them get through rough times. Be it losing friends in battle, or missing a child's birth, he seems to take care of his own.
    -The Commander shows a deep insight in the use of Mobile Armored Suits, beyond that of any of the other Officers I have evaluated for this mission.
    -He is qualified, diligent, and intelligent. He seems to take his time before stepping into situations, but that does not mean he is hesitant to act. When he does act, he does it with precision and extreme prejudice.

    Upon arrival to the sight only wreckage is found of what seems to be 12 colonial trading frigates. Unknown wreckage is recovered by the CL-212 and given to Engineering in an attempt to identify.
    Reid and his team work round the clock for three days running every possibility through the onboard computer and each other.
    No explanation for the wreckage is ever found. Piece is currently listed in the Naval Investigative Evidence Database as UK-12,378.
    29032873 - Fleet descends into lower atmosphere of popular vacation world ZO-22 "Serenity" for much needed R&R for all three ships.
    01052873 - Deployment comes to an end in a less than favorable manner. The record states:
    -12 civilian frigates lost just outside of Fleets Zone of responsibility, blame is never placed on the Fleet.

    22042879 - CL-212 is put onto it's fifth 6 month deployment with CL-213 and DD-73. Now joined by AO-878 and AO-722 and tasked to escort them to DSDE-39 "Argus" for repairs of the sprawling station.
    22072879 - AO-878 and AO-722 safely arrive at Argus Station.
    01082879 - Fleet departs without AO-878 and 722 to continue patrol of the outer systems.
    14082879 - Fleet is called upon to another rim world following a terrorist nuclear attack.
    15082879 - After one day of FTL travel Fleet arrives in orbit around XI-08 and begins rescue and recovery operations.
    17082879 - DD-73 is taking on refugees to transport them to XI-13 in a neighboring star system. An member of the terrorist group responsible for the attack manages to make his way onto a dropship headed for the Conolly, Upon arrival onboard the terrorist detonated a tactical nuclear weapon. The Conolly was split in two by the blast, all hands (4,392) were lost including close to 3,000 refugees. Exact numbers are unknown due to all records being destroyed in the explosion.
    18082879 - CL-212 and CL-213 are called back to their home port of Lyterion for an early end to the deployment after the events of the previous day.
    22092879 - The remaining two ships of Fleet Support Group 3 arrive at Lyterion. Deployment ends.
    12102879 - CL-212, CL-213, CL-221, CL-227, DD-82, DD-85, DD-86, and CV-89 are called to an emergency deployment and labeled Fleet Support Group 12, and order to rendezvous with 8th Fleet (Composed of 27 ships namely Destroyers, Battleships, and Escort Carriers) in the Jool System. War with the Coalition is imminent.

    14102879 - CL-212 and fleet are poised to make their final jump into the Jool System, 8th Fleet has yet to respond to any communication attempts.

    15102879 - Decision from EEN Command is given for FLG-12 to make the jump into the Jool System regardless of communication issues.

    Upon exiting the jump CL-221 is immediately destroyed in a collision with half of the hull of an Escort Carrier, beyond the wreckage lays an immense battle still in progress. FLG-12 immediately moves to assist, communications with EENCom are lost, jamming is believed to have been in place.

    CV-89 "Saratoga" launches its compliment of 34 fighters and 17 strike craft. DD-82, 85, and 86 immediately move to engage a Coalition Capital ship that is occupied with multiple UEE Destroyers on its port side. CL-212 and 213 move to cover the Destroyers as they close into weapons range.

    The Destroyers begin to engage the CFG Capital ship and are almost at the same time engaged by a wing of Coalition MAS'. CL-212 and 213 lay down covering fire but the Coalition MAS' proved to formidable a foe for the Light Cruisers compliments, DD-82 and 86 are destroyed after being boarded by Coalition MAS'.

    Reid urged Captain Zyker to pull back and defend the Saratoga, their only hope at winning the battle for the Jool System. Zyker decides that their best course of action is to take down the CFG Capital ship. CL-212 abandons CL-213 and DD-85 in a near suicidal attempt to destroy the Coalition Capital ship.

    CL-213 is overwhelmed by 4 Coalition Light Cruisers, a foe that would have easily been out-classed by just CL-212 and 213 alone despite their "Light" notation.

    CL-227 takes a direct hit from a nuclear torpedo to its starboard engine housing, CL-227 is effectively removed from the fight.

    DD-85 pressed the CFG Capital ship but was quickly overwhelmed by the remaining Coalition MAS' due to lack of support.

    CV-89 "Saratoga" and her 6 strike squadrons score kills on 3 Coalition Destroyers and 4 Coalition Frigates. Its 4 Fighter Squadrons succeed in overwhelming 2 wings of Coalition MAS' and against all odds manage to destroy the propulsion on a Coalition Light MAS Carrier.

    CL-212 brings itself in range of the CFG Capital ship and begins its attack, Captain Zyker being urged by Reid to pull back. Black-box recording of the battle documents the conversation:

    >Captain, we have to pull back to the Saratoga. It's our best shot sir.
    >Negative Reid, we're taking this CFG bastard down

    >Sir! If we don't fucking pull back Saratoga is gone and Jool is lost! Who the fuck cares about this Capital ship? If we concentrate on protecting the Saratoga her fighters can take down the Capital Ships support and-
    >Quiet Lieutenant this is a fight for the real Captains.
    >Sir if we dont pull back!
    >Sergeant, remove the Lieutenant from the bridge.

    CL-212 proceeded to attempt to destroy the Capital ship, it took heavy damage and was jumped from the system.

    CV-89 was destroyed with all hands lost not shortly after.


    16102879 - CL-212 limps into the docking clamps of DSDE-53 "Scepter" as the lone survivor of the UEE Naval forces dispatched to Jool to reinforce the 8th Fleet.
    23102879 - Captain Zyker is relieved of duty following the events in the Jool System. Reid is promoted to Commander and given the position of Commanding Officer of CL-212.


    2889 - The UEE has been losing the war, badly. Commander Reid is given command of the EENS Battle-Carrier Abraham Lincoln. His new mission, to safely escort the 101st Legions 7th MAS deep into Coalition space in an attempt to end the war. The objective, recover or destroy a Coalition Super Weapon.

    Personal Statement from Commander Reid upon reassignment:

    Developed by Mars Clipper Ships, the Liberator class was the civilian companies first entry into Military contracting. Previously renowned for quality civilian vessels, including bulk freighters and passenger liners, a bid issued by the Naval Procurement department called for a 'rugged, reliable carrier capable of staying on station for up to six months with sufficient firepower to intimidate pirates and ward of another major power.' Of the several designs submitted, only the Liberator was accepted, with the first of the class, the EENS Liberator, being produced at Phobos station. Over the next decade twenty of the class would be produced for the EENS Navy and distributed to border worlds and disputed territories. The ship has served admirably, with the class being refitted with newly developed technology last year to bring it up to front line standards, especially to keep pace with the development of Mobile Armour suit technologies

    Layout:

    The centre and heart of the Liberator Class is its Toyama Fusion Reactor. With deuterium tankage for three months, tied to an efficient mag-grav sweep system, the Toyama can sustain The Liberator for 12 months of minimal activity before fuel reserves will run low. At that point, it can refuel from any planet with a hydrogen/helium rich atmosphere using the 'drag scoop' maneuver to skim the atmosphere for fuel. Aft of the reactor section and the tankage is the ships Impellor drive, rated for 2.3G of continuous acceleration, though fleet trials have pushed this to 2.6G with a low payload mass. The drive section can also deploy solar panels to provide additional power when in range of a star.
    Nestled between the Impellor drive and the Reactor is the ships Kearnsky-Fuchida Warp drive. By bridging two points in space the drive can near instantaneously move the Liberator up to 50 light years. This requires significant charging, with a jump delay of 48 hours, slightly slower than the fleet norm, which is currently 42 for most cruisers and battleships.

    Fore of the drive and engineering spaces is the Docking Collar. Equipped to handle up to 4 destroyers, the Docking collar allows the Liberator to bring 'Tag along' ships which lack jump drives of their own. Standard UES doctrine is to pair the Liberator with a squadron of four Dervish Class Destroyers. this feature is less used now that MAS technology is proliferating

    After the docking collar comes the ships cavernous flight deck. Equipped to handle several dozen small craft, the Flight deck also houses the Marine Barracks, the crew quarters and the launch bays for ten Mobile Armour Suits.
    Finally, the CiC is located deep in the guts of the Liberator, behind sheets of shielding and redundant systems.

    Weapons:

    Originally equipped to drive of lightly equipped raiders and support fleet actions, the Liberator Class was, but more than capable of demolishing any smaller ship it happens across. With the advent of MAS technology, it became apparent that different weapons where needed. The weapons of the Liberator Class where redesigned to give maximum defense against MAS strikes, though the best defense for any capital ship is its own MAS escort.
    Mounted on the dorsal line and powered by its own reactor and capacitor system, the Abraham Lincoln mounts a Pulsed Plasma Gravity Braid Cannon. Known by the crew as the 'wave motion gun', (all attempts at coming up with a clever acronym or backronym failed), this weapon fires a massive plasma blast wrapped in a braid of artificial gravity, allowing it to overwhelm energy shields at incredible distances. It is limited by the need to be pointing directly at its target, which means the ship must be pointing directly at its target, and an agonizingly slow recharge time of a minute.

    Four Armstad missile bays carry 50 anti capital missiles each, supplementing the main gun. With a secondary magazine located in the hold holding another 200, the ship has enough missiles for 5 minutes of sustained fire. These missiles are remote piloted by operators in the CiC, but can revert to on-board guiding if they are jammed. Configurable for a variety of targets, these missiles are also the primary means of attacking a surface target the Liberator Class has. These missiles can also be 'passed' to MAS units, who can control them to support their own attacks.

    Along the both the port and starboard lines of the ship, are 10 dual barreled turrets- for a total of 20 turrets- mounting Heavy Capital Class Laser Cannons suffice to ward off close range attackers, as well as lighter ships, though a heavier capital ship or true battleship will easily muscle through that fire. These weapons also provide port/starboard coverage against MAS attack, but can be overwhelmed or avoided by a determined or skilled attacker.

    Along the bow of the ship, is a line of three twin barreled Mass Driver Cannons, serving as the ship's primary anti-ship weapon, aside from its own MAS compliment. These rail based turrets launch large caliber shells of varying types and are capable of hitting large targets at great distances. These cannons can also be used for orbital bombardments, but due to their size, power and position on the top of the ship, cannot be fired in-atmosphere.

    Finally, the Liberator mounts a staggering 200 heavy rail cannons in 50 four gun 'ball' turrets. Designed for AA work and interception, these designs provide a murderous hail of tungsten slugs designed to fill local space around the Liberator class with an expanding 'cone of death', that should shred any missile or drive off any MAS that gets under the laser cannons coverage.

    Defenses:

    Along with the aforementioned rail cannons, the ship mounts over a meter of Durralex Ferro-fibrious armour plate, reinforced with Cobblestone Reaction ceramic ablative plate. Able to withstand direct hits from nuclear weapons, the Cobblestone is a more recent addition as part of the last round of upgrades, and detrimentally affected the ship's handling. To quote one Commander 'She handled like an iron bathtub full of water before. Now she handles like an iron bathtub full of concrete, covered in grease'. ECW defence includes several dedicated ECM defence nodes, located in a ring with the docking collars. Finally, a powerful reflex shield allows the ship to deflect laser and and small amounts of plasma attacks.

    Like all capital ships of her size and construction, the greatest threats come from bigger, meaner capital ships, concentrated attack by destroyers or close range 'skin dancing' attacks by MAS's. A MAS penetrating into the ships internal engineering spaces could destroy the Abraham Lincoln in one attack, which is why the ships designers have worked extra hard to prevent such a thing occurring. Both empires are following a similar design ethos: Increasingly, new ships are heavily defended and designed to support MAS operations, rather than engage in capital ship combat themselves.

    Flight Deck:

    The flight deck and associated hanger bays have stowage for over 50 small craft of various types. Currently, the Abraham Lincoln carries a squadron of 12 AS-18 Naginata Aerospace fighters, a squadron of 12 H-12 'Zero' Aerospace bombers, and 12 XXXL-12 'Albatross' orbital Gunships for marine deployment. Fighters are deployed via magnetic catapult and can be recovered using the same equipment. The ship also carries four shuttles for general shipping duties, one bulk lifter and 18 repair craft. 6 T-88 Toad class scout ships round out the ships compliment. Finally, the ship mounts 10 MAS repair, recovery and refit bays (Triple R Bays) on external rails. The Triple R bays can be retracted into the pressure hull after recovering or deploying their MAS occupants.

    Crew Compliment:

    The ships company runs to 2400 over all ranks and specializations, including a dedicated security detachment. The airwing has a compliment of 1200, and the Marine Battalion aboard numbers 800. A normal deployment would accompany the ship with four Frigates, or a pair of destroyers with up to another 200 marines spread across those ships to form a distributed regiment.

    Other Capabilities:

    The ships computer systems are managed by Mary-Ann, a gestalt LV 2 Virtual intelligence. Not true AI, she instead is an exceptionable personable interface program designed to ease crew interactions with the ships systems, function as a organizer and statistician, and provide ready advice and information for the command crew. Capable of independent management of many of the ships defensive systems and day-to-day management of the ships immediate Battlespace, she is designed to both take, interpret and redistribute orders.

    When designing the Liberator Class, Mars Clipper ships took the design requirement of 'tough' to heart. Designed with multiple redundant systems, thick armour plating both internal and external, and excellent damage control measures, it is not unknown for the Liberator Class to take a ferocious pounding and emerge intact, if not unscathed. In one particularly famous example, the Winston Churchill was ambushed by belt pirates and attacked with five limpet nukes. Despite the collapse of one flight deck and the loss of half her tankage, and the exposing of her engineering spaces to vacuum, the ship was able to fight her way clear and summon assistance. She was rebuilt and re-deployed within 3 months of the incident.

    The one place the ship falls down is crew comforts. With survivability and endurance as key priorities, crew comforts came a distant third. As most of these ships are designed to garrison frontier worlds with atmospheres, it was expected that the crews would have access to ground-side facilities to stretch their legs and use their R&R time. The ships compliment of light craft are often busily employed shuttling crew on furlough between the ship and any local civilian port. A long deployment far from friendly bases could see morale suffer.

    Gallant Class Destroyers Gemini I and Gemini II
    'fortior simul, seorsum infirmior'
    'Stronger Together, Weaker Apart'


    Developed recently to fulfill a contract laid out by the EENS, the Gallant class is designed to support MAS operations in an atmosphere and in space. With only a small crew and no jump capability, the Gallant needs to operate in part of a larger task group to be truly effective.

    Layout:

    At the centre of the ship is a WhiteStar class fusion reactor, with deuterium reserves for one month of operation. This part of the ship is heavily armoured, with only its fuel line for the reactor and the rear service hatchways providing any chinks in the armour belt. Equipped with an oversized impellor drive for its mass, the Gallant can reach acceleration speeds of 4.8 Gs. In atmosphere, it can achieve Mach 1 as a cruising speed, depending on local gravity and atmospheric density and conditions.

    Fore of the drive and engineering spaces is the docking point. Linking into the tankage system, this docking point is designed to interface with docking collars found on capital ships like the Liberator battle carrier and the Conestoga Dreadnoughts.

    To either side of the reactor and drive are the support bays for MAS suits, and the weapon pods that provide the ships primary firepower. Fore of the reactor is the crew quarters and the CIC, all covered in a layer of heavy armour.
    Capable of very sharp maneuvers both in and out of atmosphere, the Gallant class is capable of not only keeping up with its MAS charges, but supporting them ably in combat.

    Weapons:

    Designed to support MAS units, the Gallant is well armed for close range operations and self defense, but somewhat lacking in anti-capital firepower.

    For Anti-ship warfare, the Gallant sports a heavy torpedo bay underneath the ship. Capable of launching a variety of different types of warheads, the torpedoes are slow and easy to outmaneuver, but are much more durable and resistant to point defense weapons than missiles. The Gallant typically carries a single clean-fusion nuclear torpedo, as well as a quartet of plasmatic-explosive torpedos, and a pair of 'Armor-Buster' torpedoes.

    Finally, the Gallant mounts 24 heavy rail cannon in six four gun 'ball' turrets. Designed for AA work and interception, these designs provide good interception capabilities.

    Defences:

    Along with the aforementioned rail cannons, the ship mounts almost a meter of Durralex Ferro-fibrious armour plate, reinforced with Cobblestone Reaction ceramic ablative plate. Backed by a pliezo-plastic gel layer, the Gallant is the most heavily armored ship of its size and weight class yet developed. In fleet trials, the Gallant Class was caught by a nuclear mine and rather than being destroyed outright, was simply flung clear by the blast, suffering only moderate damage. The ship can also project a limited reflex shield, which while less powerful than a capital ship field, provides solid defense against laser weapons for short periods of time.

    Flight Deck:

    Designed as a platform to support MAS units, its two 'hangers' are more equipment bays and recharge points for MAS units returning to the field. Capable of turning around two MAS units in minutes thanks to its automated repair units, they also serve as equipment areas for the ships compliment of marines. Two shuttles, two recovery craft are stored in the bays, along with a pair of Porcupine APC's for ground operation.

    Crew Compliment:

    120 across all ranks and classes, with a short company of marines (50)

    Other Capabilities:

    Designed to operate with a larger vessel, the Gallant is a cramped, difficult posting reminiscent of the submarines of Earth in the 21st century. The toughness of the vessel is small comfort, like all capital ships it is most vulnerable to MAS attackers latching onto its hull and carving through its heavy armour with plasma weaponry. It works well as a system defense ship for inner worlds, and makes an excellent escort for any large capital vessel. For MAS pilots, its ability to extend their operational range is considered a life saver. A capable super heavy bomber in atmosphere, it is also well designed to support Marine landings and operations on a planetary surface. Its computer are very advanced, cutting edge integrated systems that only need a few human operators. Defensive systems are largely automated, freeing up crew for maintenance and fire control.

Lacking the ability to fly, the MkII serves as the standard ground unit for UEE MAS teams, and comes in standard tan, though many pilots add accents or change the color of their machines.

    Description:
    Favored by scouts and acrobats for its maneuverability, the Sparrow series of MAS are the UEE's first Mobile armor suit to have sustained flight. The main body is reminiscent of various fighter planes and contains extremely aerodynamic features, with maximum flight speeds reaching over 1000 mph. Though poorly armored when compared to the Sentry, it is capable of performing maneuvers the Sentry could never hope to accomplish.

    P120 20mm Flechette Mass Driver. 5 WT 2 PWR. - A rail-based weapon attached to the Sparrow's arm, the P120 uses an electronic mass driving system to propel its flechettes at extremely high speeds, resulting in an appreciatively effective weapon. The P120 is Semi-automatic, and uses an integrated 120 round magazine. The P120's edges are sharpened, allowing it to be used as a sword.
    Triple barreled .30 Caliber Light Machine Gun 1 WT 1 PWR. - A body mounted machine gun on the Sparrow's torso, used for strafing and anti-personnel purposes.
    Countermeasure System. 0 WT 0 Power. - The Sparrow relies on a combination of speed, maneuverability, and countermeasures to avoid missiles.
    'Shield' Missile Launcher. 5 WT 2 PWR. - A missile launcher attached to the Sparrow's other arm, the Shield launcher fires 6 100mm multi-purpose missiles. With impact safe explosives, and a wide launcher size made of hardened alloys, the launcher also works as a shield to pair with the Sparrow's sword railgun.
    Class 1 Shield Generator. 3 WT 3 PWR. - A small shield generator provides the Sparrow with the minimum military grade defense system.

    Claymore Missile System. 3 WT 2 PWR. - A missile launcher system set into both upper leg portions of the Sentinel. Launching 6 Claymore missiles from each leg, these small missiles pack a large punch, capable of downing most Light and Medium class MAS's with 1 or 2 missiles.
    Head Mounted .50 Caliber Machine Gun. 1 WT 1 PWR. - A .50 caliber machine guns mounted on the Sentinel's head, this light weapon provides the Sentinel with anti personnel and small missile defense. It has a 200 round magazine.
    Energy Saber - Internal capacitor. 1 WT 3 PWR - The Sentinel utilizes a high powered energy saber stored in its shoulder. The blade length can be adjusted, but due to the saber using its own power capacitors, the operational limit of the blade is 3 hours. As such, pilots are often encouraged to limit their melee time.
    Class 3 Shield Generator. 5 WT 7 PWR - With a higher level shield generator than the standard Sentry, the Sentinel improves its overall staying power.

    Originating as a variant of the Sentinel, the need for a heavy weapons platform soon saw the Centurion as its own unique model, designed with a heavy chassis to allow it to focus more on firepower, at the cost of some mobility. A heavy and somewhat sluggish machine, the Centurion compensates by providing potent firepower over a wide operational range.

    'Oculus' Point Defense Laser. 0 WT 2 PWR. - Mounted in front of the Centurion's 'head' the Oculus serves as a multi purpose camera feed interface, as well as a powerful point defense laser, providing it with anti-personnel and missile defense.
    Plasmatic Fist. 3 WT 3 PWR - As the Centurion was too large and bulky to effectively wield a melee weapons, the Plasmatic Fists were developed to give the Centurion melee capabilities. When activated, the knucle 'joints' of the Centurion's hands give off large amounts of heat and energy, allowing it to melt, as well as smash through most hulls with its alloy reinforced fists.
    Advanced Internal Targeting Suite. 0 WT 3 PWR. - The Centurion comes standard with an advanced internal targeting suite and computer, allowing the pilot to effectively and accurately lay down fire from long ranges.
    Class 4 Shield Generator. 5 WT 10 PWR - The Centurion boasts an extremely powerful shield generator, which on top of its already considerable armor plating gives it very considerable staying power.

The Recording picked up again as the date read a day later.

"Ok, I have with me Monica and I am ready to begin the base examination with her. Monica, I am having this recorded for future notice that this was infact done on the Ten Year basis of you being in the service." The doctor said. Monica could be heard laughing "Of course Doctor. Has it been ten years already? Am I truly Twenty Eight now? Wow.... To think of what all has happened.." She said before the doctor began speaking again. "Yes, it has been ten years Monica. Now, If you do not mind. Would you be able to tell us who you are?" The doctor asked before going silent. A chair could be heard moving and the noise of someone putting something on a table was heard. "Do not mind me doctor.. I hope you do go crazy when I start rambling.. I just have to get comfortable.. We will be here for awhile." Monica said to the doctor.

Nearly a minute passed without a noise before Monica began to speak "Well, Obviously you know me as Monica Gerten... That is who I am but the story behind my life isn't as simple as the name." She began before taking a deep breath and sighing. "My early life wasn't anything that special. Both of my parents served.. I followed in their foot steps. But to look at what truly makes me, me we would need to look at my High School life. I grew up a very athletic girl that surpassed beyond count in Martial arts and in Boxing believe it or not. I may not look like a strong girl but I rely on speed where I can not use force. Which leads me to my many fights in high school when people tried to abuse my emotional sensitivity.." She said with a slightly laugh. "I can easily tell you I made sure that they got the message." She said before another noise was heard as if someone was putting their feet onto a chair nearby. "Would you say, Monica, that you were an aggressive person... are you one now?" The doctor asked her. "Doctor, I left that part of me in the past. I purposely isolated my emotions in a part of my mind that I rarely visit.. I cant let myself feel to often in my line or work.. Some people take the distant route of fighting.. I fight up close where I can see the Pilots blood seep out of the ruined Suit." Monica said bluntly without a sound of emotion in her voice.

The noise of writing could be heard before the doctor spoke up again "Would you say that your past has influenced your emotional separation?". "Very much it has.. I would feel horrible after hitting them that I would barely be able to function afterward. Knowing full well of this I couldn't let it all come into reality when in combat... now.. could I?" Monica stated plainly to the doctor. "Well, Monica... I believe that to feel something is what life is about. You need to feel anger to drive yourself.. Love to feel for others..-" The doctor was able to say before Monica cut her off "Love! Hah!" She said showing the slightest sign of emotion. "What has love done for me? It has done nothing but hurt me in all I have done.. I do not love those.. I respect them... I work with them... I fight along side them.. I will not let my heart out to be stabbed again.." She said before going quiet. Several minutes passed before the Doctor spoke up "Alright, I think that is enough for today." she said before the Recorder turned off.

The next recording was dated for two days after the last.

"Alright, Monica I have brought you back in today to continue where we left off two days ago. Are you ready to continue?" The doctor asked Monica. The noise of a chair being dragged over was heard "If we must.." Monica said slowly. "Of course, I was ordered to do this after your last mission. You witnessed the death of half your former squad. How do you feel about that? I know it is not the first time you watched parts of your squad get destroyed in front of you." The doctor said to her. Monica sighed "Yes, I watched my team get destroyed.... That was nearly five months ago and they are just getting ready to reassign me.." She mumbled. The doctor began writing again "Yes, They are. Let us talk on your military Exploits and short comings as well as your.. sights during your history." She said to Monica. Monica cleared her throat "Well, I enlisted when I was eighteen and due to my high testing scores and ability to think I was selected after passing basic to undergo training as a pilot. My training went by easy.. Left me somewhat hurt by the intensity of it all but none the less stronger." Monica said before taking a breath. "My first mission in a Light Suit went well enough I could say.. I took a beating and was injured.. but I survived unlike many of my squad mates.. I watch their suits take direct hits from a Heavy suit laying siege to us. We didn't stand a chance." She said before sighing highly. "That was when I began to approach things differently." Monica continued.

The noise of writing was heard once more "How so? What changed?" The doctor asked her. Monica could be heard cracking her knuckles "My thoughts towards attachment... Now we will drop that subject... I was taken back aboard our carrier and I was left in the infirmary for several days before being given a new suit to pilot. This time.. it was a Medium suit.. It was at this time that I began to come into reality as to what my purpose was." She said and gave a little giggle. "I was to be the shield... The hammer of the empire..." She said before a noise was heard with her chair. "I was to be the blade.. the tip of the spear so to say.. I was to be the cutting edge of a long sword." She continued before calming herself. "I apologize doctor.. I was getting emotional." Monica said suddenly. The doctor cleared her throat "You took it upon yourself to be a light... I take it." She asked Monica. "That is correct, Doctor. I was the light of our carrier.. Even as those around me died and other pilots broke I stood as a beacon of light that shined out... I became.. a 'Justicar'... Or Paladin... Whichever you wish to call me." She said before the noise of her sitting down again was heard.

"I take it you have seem many people die around you.. Let us move on to your exploits." The doctor said before writing once more. Monica laughed "Oh, Yes.. My exploits. Let us begin with my first kill. I ripped the Light Mecha to pieces in my Medium suit. I watched the Pilot die instantly and the blood seep through the cracks. It was... invigorating." Monica said with a odd Fervor in her voice. The doctor began to write again "Did you take enjoyment out of that? Do you enjoy seeing people die?" the doctor asked her. Monica sighed "No, I do not at all. It brings me an adrenalin rush during combat but I do not wish to see people butchered needlessly. I would fight to defend myself if I could and only do that like I did during high school. Now I must reach out and clutch the enemy by the neck and tear their spinal cord out." She said without emotion causing the doctor to begin writing again.

"Now.. Monica I understand you are an 'Ace'. Is this correct?" The doctor asked her. "Oh, That is very much correct doctor. In my eight years as a Pilot I have destroyed a grand total of Fifty Seven enemy Mecha units." She said with a sense of pride in her voice. "I did it all in close combat as well.." She continued. The doctor began to write again "Now... What of your disciplinary record. I know there are two offenses on you." The doctor said to Monica. "Yes, I at the beginning still allowed my emotions cloud my judgement. When I awoke and learned most of my team was killed I lashed out at our commander for sending us into an area that intelligence knew was heavily guarded. I.. Struck him and was punished for it. I spent two days in the Brig as it was my first offence and the man felt sorry for me.. I wish he didn't go easy on me.." She mumbled at the end. "The next was four years ago now.. about half way through my career here in the Mecha Core..." She said before continuing. "I spent my time drinking.. something I have not done much of these past three and a half years for obvious reasons. I let myself get upset and started a fight with a group of Infantry that ended in a near full scale Bar Fight that engulfed a floor of our carrier. I was punished severely for this action... I spent three weeks in the Brig and was grounded for a month. I must be thankful though.. My Squad suffered six casualties the next mission.." She said before going silent once more. Several minutes passed and the doctor sighed "We will try to finish tomorrow.". The recorder shut off and all fell silent.

She said to Monica as the noise of a chair being moved closer was heard. "Yes, My combat style is that of a Knight... I earned the title Justicar not just because I held together through hell.. I earned it as I fight entirely up close and personal with my enemies.. It is something that has landed me hospitalized for weeks.. but my current suit has lasted me... six years.. I feel bonded to it beyond any reasonable doubt.. I use whatever I can get a hold of to rend and rip apart my targets.." She mumbled. The doctor began to write once more "Now, What do you bring to the table." She asked Monica. "I bring quiet honestly... I do not talk much anymore.. I mean.. I want to but I don't feel like I should get close to those in my team. I find it hard to connect with people as I am afraid that if I do I will have to watch them die." she said quietly. The noise of a sigh was heard "I bring also experience.... I have survived encounters that many have not.. I live and stand here with all but one bone in my body intact entirely.. I have one metal impact in my entire body. I like to stay natural...." She said with a laugh. "I bring tactical knowledge on how to approach hostile environments and scouting techniques as I am normally one who strays close to the enemies lines." She said before the doctor finished up "Thank you Monica.. You are free to go now. My study is over." The doctor said before the noise of a chair moving was heard. Several seconds passed and the noise of a door shutting was heard and the recording cut off.

Currently Emotional dispatched but shows signs of wanting to feel. At this time it is obvious that there are signs of PTSD from events during early life and early military history. Service record shows disciplinary actions that have obviously been dealt with in ways that the subject has learned from. Description: A Mech built from the ground up under the close scrutiny of its Pilot Monica Gerten. Its every system and armor output was ordered and put into place by her. Its weapon system's fitted in the places she wanted and all aspects of it guided into place with her guidance. This in mind it leaves this Mech a very fitting Mecha for her to pilot as it is literally her baby.

The 'Retribution' is designed for one single purpose. To weather to the incoming fire to close in on the enemy targets to unleash its powerful payload of close combat weapons. Lacking long range combat capabilities it makes up with it with the ability to move across the battlefield at a sustained speed. Its Experimental reactor allows it much more power allowing it to go all out in a combat situation. With this in mind it is also a walking nuclear bomb.

The retribution boasts a large amount of Missiles for its size since it lacks long range capabilities. The top mounted Dual Launchers built into its shoulder blades are for longer range capabilities. Its second payload is built into its legs for close combat capabilities where it uses its entire body to combat its foes.

The Retributions upgrading Targeting Suite allows it to identify targets and relay it to its pilot in real time. This allows for a real time threat identification before the Mecha puts itself into any real danger.

The Close Combat capabilities of the Retribution call for a Shield Generator capable of absorbing the fire being thrown at it before it reaches its target.

Heavy Alloy Plating- 7 Weight
The armor plating of the Retribution is designed to keep it alive in close combat. It is designed to take several blows without cracking and allowing them pilot to keep moving after taking several direct hits.

    "Following my interview with the Commander I have a few things to point out from the notes I took."

    -Commander Reid is a man of stoic disposition, almost like a statue in some of the most intense moments.
    -He is level headed and gets straight to the point, no "sugar-coating" necessary.
    -His 21 years in the EEN has filled him with extremely valuable experience in both commanding a craft and in waging war.
    -Easily one of the most versed commanders when it comes to all the positions of a ship the EEN may have left.
    -He is a caring individual, apparently known to sit down with individuals of his crew no matter the rank and help them get through rough times. Be it losing friends in battle, or missing a child's birth, he seems to take care of his own.
    -The Commander shows a deep insight in the use of Mobile Armored Suits, beyond that of any of the other Officers I have evaluated for this mission.

    Reid and his team work round the clock for three days running every possibility through the onboard computer and each other.
    No explanation for the wreckage is ever found. Piece is currently listed in the Naval Investigative Evidence Database as UK-12,378.

    22092879 - The remaining two ships of Fleet Support Group 3 arrive at Lyterion. Deployment ends.
    12102879 - CL-212, CL-213, CL-221, CL-227, DD-82, DD-85, DD-86, and CV-89 are called to an emergency deployment and labeled Fleet Support Group 12, and order to rendezvous with 8th Fleet (Composed of 27 ships namely Destroyers, Battleships, and Escort Carriers) in the Jool System. War with the Coalition is imminent.

    14102879 - CL-212 and fleet are poised to make their final jump into the Jool System, 8th Fleet has yet to respond to any communication attempts.

    15102879 - Decision from EEN Command is given for FLG-12 to make the jump into the Jool System regardless of communication issues.

    Upon exiting the jump CL-221 is immediately destroyed in a collision with half of the hull of an Escort Carrier, beyond the wreckage lays an immense battle still in progress. FLG-12 immediately moves to assist, communications with EENCom are lost, jamming is believed to have been in place.

    CV-89 "Saratoga" launches its compliment of 34 fighters and 17 strike craft. DD-82, 85, and 86 immediately move to engage a Coalition Capital ship that is occupied with multiple UEE Destroyers on its port side. CL-212 and 213 move to cover the Destroyers as they close into weapons range.

    The Destroyers begin to engage the CFG Capital ship and are almost at the same time engaged by a wing of Coalition MAS'. CL-212 and 213 lay down covering fire but the Coalition MAS' proved to formidable a foe for the Light Cruisers compliments, DD-82 and 86 are destroyed after being boarded by Coalition MAS'.

    Reid urged Captain Zyker to pull back and defend the Saratoga, their only hope at winning the battle for the Jool System. Zyker decides that their best course of action is to take down the CFG Capital ship. CL-212 abandons CL-213 and DD-85 in a near suicidal attempt to destroy the Coalition Capital ship.

    CL-213 is overwhelmed by 4 Coalition Light Cruisers, a foe that would have easily been out-classed by just CL-212 and 213 alone despite their "Light" notation.

    CL-227 takes a direct hit from a nuclear torpedo to its starboard engine housing, CL-227 is effectively removed from the fight.

    DD-85 pressed the CFG Capital ship but was quickly overwhelmed by the remaining Coalition MAS' due to lack of support.

    CV-89 "Saratoga" and her 6 strike squadrons score kills on 3 Coalition Destroyers and 4 Coalition Frigates. Its 4 Fighter Squadrons succeed in overwhelming 2 wings of Coalition MAS' and against all odds manage to destroy the propulsion on a Coalition Light MAS Carrier.

    CL-212 brings itself in range of the CFG Capital ship and begins its attack, Captain Zyker being urged by Reid to pull back. Black-box recording of the battle documents the conversation:

    CL-212 proceeded to attempt to destroy the Capital ship, it took heavy damage and was jumped from the system.

    CV-89 was destroyed with all hands lost not shortly after.


    16102879 - CL-212 limps into the docking clamps of DSDE-53 "Scepter" as the lone survivor of the UEE Naval forces dispatched to Jool to reinforce the 8th Fleet.
    23102879 - Captain Zyker is relieved of duty following the events in the Jool System. Reid is promoted to Commander and given the position of Commanding Officer of CL-212.


    2889 - The UEE has been losing the war, badly. Commander Reid is given command of the EENS Battle-Carrier Abraham Lincoln. His new mission, to safely escort the 101st Legions 7th MAS deep into Coalition space in an attempt to end the war. The objective, recover or destroy a Coalition Super Weapon.

    Developed by Mars Clipper Ships, the Liberator class was the civilian companies first entry into Military contracting. Previously renowned for quality civilian vessels, including bulk freighters and passenger liners, a bid issued by the Naval Procurement department called for a 'rugged, reliable carrier capable of staying on station for up to six months with sufficient firepower to intimidate pirates and ward of another major power.' Of the several designs submitted, only the Liberator was accepted, with the first of the class, the EENS Liberator, being produced at Phobos station. Over the next decade twenty of the class would be produced for the EENS Navy and distributed to border worlds and disputed territories. The ship has served admirably, with the class being refitted with newly developed technology last year to bring it up to front line standards, especially to keep pace with the development of Mobile Armour suit technologies

    Layout:

    The centre and heart of the Liberator Class is its Toyama Fusion Reactor. With deuterium tankage for three months, tied to an efficient mag-grav sweep system, the Toyama can sustain The Liberator for 12 months of minimal activity before fuel reserves will run low. At that point, it can refuel from any planet with a hydrogen/helium rich atmosphere using the 'drag scoop' maneuver to skim the atmosphere for fuel. Aft of the reactor section and the tankage is the ships Impellor drive, rated for 2.3G of continuous acceleration, though fleet trials have pushed this to 2.6G with a low payload mass. The drive section can also deploy solar panels to provide additional power when in range of a star.
    Nestled between the Impellor drive and the Reactor is the ships Kearnsky-Fuchida Warp drive. By bridging two points in space the drive can near instantaneously move the Liberator up to 50 light years. This requires significant charging, with a jump delay of 48 hours, slightly slower than the fleet norm, which is currently 42 for most cruisers and battleships.

    Fore of the drive and engineering spaces is the Docking Collar. Equipped to handle up to 4 destroyers, the Docking collar allows the Liberator to bring 'Tag along' ships which lack jump drives of their own. Standard UES doctrine is to pair the Liberator with a squadron of four Dervish Class Destroyers. this feature is less used now that MAS technology is proliferating

    After the docking collar comes the ships cavernous flight deck. Equipped to handle several dozen small craft, the Flight deck also houses the Marine Barracks, the crew quarters and the launch bays for ten Mobile Armour Suits.
    Finally, the CiC is located deep in the guts of the Liberator, behind sheets of shielding and redundant systems.

    Weapons:

    Originally equipped to drive of lightly equipped raiders and support fleet actions, the Liberator Class was, but more than capable of demolishing any smaller ship it happens across. With the advent of MAS technology, it became apparent that different weapons where needed. The weapons of the Liberator Class where redesigned to give maximum defense against MAS strikes, though the best defense for any capital ship is its own MAS escort.
    Mounted on the dorsal line and powered by its own reactor and capacitor system, the Abraham Lincoln mounts a Pulsed Plasma Gravity Braid Cannon. Known by the crew as the 'wave motion gun', (all attempts at coming up with a clever acronym or backronym failed), this weapon fires a massive plasma blast wrapped in a braid of artificial gravity, allowing it to overwhelm energy shields at incredible distances. It is limited by the need to be pointing directly at its target, which means the ship must be pointing directly at its target, and an agonizingly slow recharge time of a minute.

    Four Armstad missile bays carry 50 anti capital missiles each, supplementing the main gun. With a secondary magazine located in the hold holding another 200, the ship has enough missiles for 5 minutes of sustained fire. These missiles are remote piloted by operators in the CiC, but can revert to on-board guiding if they are jammed. Configurable for a variety of targets, these missiles are also the primary means of attacking a surface target the Liberator Class has. These missiles can also be 'passed' to MAS units, who can control them to support their own attacks.

    Along the both the port and starboard lines of the ship, are 10 dual barreled turrets- for a total of 20 turrets- mounting Heavy Capital Class Laser Cannons suffice to ward off close range attackers, as well as lighter ships, though a heavier capital ship or true battleship will easily muscle through that fire. These weapons also provide port/starboard coverage against MAS attack, but can be overwhelmed or avoided by a determined or skilled attacker.

    Along the bow of the ship, is a line of three twin barreled Mass Driver Cannons, serving as the ship's primary anti-ship weapon, aside from its own MAS compliment. These rail based turrets launch large caliber shells of varying types and are capable of hitting large targets at great distances. These cannons can also be used for orbital bombardments, but due to their size, power and position on the top of the ship, cannot be fired in-atmosphere.

    Finally, the Liberator mounts a staggering 200 heavy rail cannons in 50 four gun 'ball' turrets. Designed for AA work and interception, these designs provide a murderous hail of tungsten slugs designed to fill local space around the Liberator class with an expanding 'cone of death', that should shred any missile or drive off any MAS that gets under the laser cannons coverage.

    Defenses:

    Along with the aforementioned rail cannons, the ship mounts over a meter of Durralex Ferro-fibrious armour plate, reinforced with Cobblestone Reaction ceramic ablative plate. Able to withstand direct hits from nuclear weapons, the Cobblestone is a more recent addition as part of the last round of upgrades, and detrimentally affected the ship's handling. To quote one Commander 'She handled like an iron bathtub full of water before. Now she handles like an iron bathtub full of concrete, covered in grease'. ECW defence includes several dedicated ECM defence nodes, located in a ring with the docking collars. Finally, a powerful reflex shield allows the ship to deflect laser and and small amounts of plasma attacks.

    Like all capital ships of her size and construction, the greatest threats come from bigger, meaner capital ships, concentrated attack by destroyers or close range 'skin dancing' attacks by MAS's. A MAS penetrating into the ships internal engineering spaces could destroy the Abraham Lincoln in one attack, which is why the ships designers have worked extra hard to prevent such a thing occurring. Both empires are following a similar design ethos: Increasingly, new ships are heavily defended and designed to support MAS operations, rather than engage in capital ship combat themselves.

    Flight Deck:

    The flight deck and associated hanger bays have stowage for over 64 small craft of various types. Currently, the Abraham Lincoln carries a squadron of 12 T5 Naginata Aerospace Fighters, a squadron of 12 H-12 'Zero' Aerospace bombers, and 12 XXXL-12 'Albatross' orbital Gunships for marine deployment. Fighters are deployed via magnetic catapult and can be recovered using the same equipment. The ship also carries four shuttles for general shipping duties, one bulk lifter and 18 repair craft. 6 T-88 Toad class scout ships round out the ships compliment. Finally, the ship mounts 10 MAS repair, recovery and refit bays (Triple R Bays) on external rails. The Triple R bays can be retracted into the pressure hull after recovering or deploying their MAS occupants.

    Crew Compliment:

    The ships company runs to 2400 over all ranks and specializations, including a dedicated security detachment. The airwing has a compliment of 1200, and the Marine Battalion aboard numbers 800. A normal deployment would accompany the ship with four Frigates, or a pair of destroyers with up to another 200 marines spread across those ships to form a distributed regiment.

    Other Capabilities:

    The ships computer systems are managed by Mary-Ann, a gestalt LV 2 Virtual intelligence. Not true AI, she instead is an exceptionable personable interface program designed to ease crew interactions with the ships systems, function as a organizer and statistician, and provide ready advice and information for the command crew. Capable of independent management of many of the ships defensive systems and day-to-day management of the ships immediate Battlespace, she is designed to both take, interpret and redistribute orders.

    When designing the Liberator Class, Mars Clipper ships took the design requirement of 'tough' to heart. Designed with multiple redundant systems, thick armour plating both internal and external, and excellent damage control measures, it is not unknown for the Liberator Class to take a ferocious pounding and emerge intact, if not unscathed. In one particularly famous example, the Winston Churchill was ambushed by belt pirates and attacked with five limpet nukes. Despite the collapse of one flight deck and the loss of half her tankage, and the exposing of her engineering spaces to vacuum, the ship was able to fight her way clear and summon assistance. She was rebuilt and re-deployed within 3 months of the incident.

    The one place the ship falls down is crew comforts. With survivability and endurance as key priorities, crew comforts came a distant third. As most of these ships are designed to garrison frontier worlds with atmospheres, it was expected that the crews would have access to ground-side facilities to stretch their legs and use their R&R time. The ships compliment of light craft are often busily employed shuttling crew on furlough between the ship and any local civilian port. A long deployment far from friendly bases could see morale suffer.

@FrostedCamel, Commander Reid is accepted, though I would like a picture of him, or a description of how he looks.

@CoShocker, thanks for the application, I do have some notes to make however. Your character seems to have a distinct lack of detail. I typically use a player's personality and background sections to get a feel for how they will write/post in the IC as well as observe the quality of their writing. Your character's personality and background, to be honest, is very short, and fairly generic. Also, for character images, I like to be able to see the character's face. Also, any particular reason why a pilot needs to carry high explosives?

As for your MAS - Awkward, I hadn't noticed your post/image and had just used the same image to create another 'standard/sample' MAS. Regarding your particular machine, you seem to have taken my builder guidelines, and threw half of them out the window, while making the other half work for you. A Heavy should have 6 cores, not 8. That being said, 8 cores would provide 40 power, not 45 (because 8x5=40..?). The Operating time, as the CS explained is time(in hours) = unused power. I have no clue what 'domination technology' is, and you provide no explanation to why your MAS has the capacity to fly. Several numerical errors with weight and power regarding various systems and weapons, along very visible theme of OP- without reason.

As this character is, I cannot accept it in this state.
 
Oh hey, the tabs for some reason didn't show what I wrote outside of them... I said that I was still trying to find a suitable appearance for Reid, I didn't just forget or leave it out I'm just trying to find one that fits.

Probably tomorrow I'll find one.
 
Flipping Christ. I want to join this, but I feel like any application I write wouldn't even hold a candle to the level of detail you guys have all put forth.

I mean, I'll try but... Just, wow. It's like I'm trying to read a hardcore sci-fi novel.

Pi, You dont have to match us. Just put forth a good bit of effort. It doesn't have to be as in depth as mine. Or as elaborate as Frosted's. It has to be somthing good and have effort put into it and I am sure there wont be an issue.
 
@Penultimate Pi, as Horizon said, you don't have to necessarily match him or Frosted, both of them presented me with characters well above the standard I was expecting (not that I mind, mind you). As long as you put some effort into making a nicely developed character, you should be fine. I've done a bit of snooping (on everyone- because thats something you can do), and I am fully confident that you will have no problem with this RP.

@CrimsonHorizons, speaking of which, I believe I am still waiting for the MAS part of your CS

@CoShocker, you find them restrictive, I view them as fairly important. The reasoning for why the Heavy is limited to 6 cores is for balancing. The point of all the restrictions on the MAS is to force you to be tactical and stringent with your power usage, and prevents people from making Overpowered machines. As for Weight and measurements being ill explained, while I'm under the impression I explained them quite well (and provided no less than 3 examples), if you found it confusing you could've asked a question about it.

Posted a WIP, mechanic turned pilot, turned test-pilot and a prototype heavy mech. Still, working out some kinks and a number of things are not done, but I wanted to show my interest and that I did in fact manage to get some work done.

Things I plan on doing:
*Find a Pic for Char
*Psych Eval
*Finish Military Record
*Name MAS, Expand on and name all things related to MAS

I found a suitable candidate for Reid, edited into the original CS.
 
A more finalized version of my character and his prototype MAS.

With that being said after getting done some daily tasks, tea was not quite as effective as I had hoped in keeping me running, so I may end up polishing things up a bit tomorrow.

    "Doc, I'm an old hand, naturally I'm a bit nervous, but anyone who says they aren't afraid, is either lying, crazy, or hasn't faced the Coalition in battle. Those buggers have the numbers on their side, that's for damned sure. Besides, I've not been slagging off, I've managed to sneak in quite a number of combat sorties throughout my time here, we have to test out new mechs after all and when things are slow it's not hard to find an old friend who can find you a spot as an unlisted pilot for a sortie or two."

    Based on interviews with other test-pilots and his superiors, along with a battery of personality tests, Pilot Juho Jalmari Juutilainen or Top Hat as he is called, appears to be of a sound frame of mind.

    He is confident, industrious, thoughtful in his actions and not without a hint of arrogance or pride in his own abilities; traits suitable for a test-pilot.

    He is an exceedingly agreeable man, with a penchant for telling long stories and demonstrates no social problems when interacting with his colleagues, superiors or civilian contractors.

    Military Record:

    Juutilainen enlisted in the United Earth Empire armed forces at eighteen and due to a high level of mechanical aptitude as well as his young age, he received training as a MAS mechanic. He served with distinction for almost two years as a mechanic with the 101st Legion, despite frequent and vocal complaints of boredom at his posting. Eventually, after repeated attempts Juutilainen was allowed to transfer to pilot school, the evaluating officer remarking that the young man had an unusually sharp sense of vision. Throughout his training, Juutilainen displayed natural talents as a pilot and he graduated near the top of class 43C in 2879.

    Reassigned to the 101st Legion, Juutilainen received further training as a Heavy MAS pilot. In the year that followed his posting, Juutilainen participated in seven months of brutal fighting that sent both the Coalition and the UEE reeling. Despite a disastrous first sortie that left him floating in space with a powerless MAS, Juutilainen learned quickly and at the year's end his score had risen to a respectable 6 MAS kills. Demonstrating outstanding piloting skills and combat leadership, in short order Juutilainen looked to be one of the rising stars within the 101st. During his second to last sortie, he achieved a remarkable feat and became what the Terra based fighter pilots of wars past had called "an ace in a day" after he downed 5 enemy mechs in a single sortie. However, on his 61st mission Juutilainen's Sentry MkII M suffered a critical reactor failure and although he managed to eject, he was severely wounded and spent several months convalescing in a UEE military hospital.

    Upon his recovery Juutilainen was transferred to the 504th Technical Evaluation Unit as a natural outcome of his status as an experienced combat pilot and MAS mechanic. A shadowy unit, steeped in subterfuge and classified files, well into the war with the Coalition the 504th remains a highly classified military unit within the UEE armed forced. With the only information publicly available about the unit vaguely alluding to the fact that the personnel of the TEVU are tasked with evaluating new technological developments and testing prototype mobile armor suits

    Juutilainen has recently been reassigned to the the 7th Mobile Armor Suit Team of the 101st Legin in order to aid the UEE war effort and to provide data on the performance of the XP-47 Thunderbolt heavy mobile armor suit in combat.

    Equipment: Juutilainen carries a small personnel sidearm (a Voss KG-75, chambered for 9mm UEE standard), a simple utility knife, a a well-worn compass, and and an antique pocket watch with him at all times.

    Van Lierde TZ-17 (Internal Upgraded Targeting Suite) - 0 WT 3 PWR - [CT] With Caldwell Interstellar Corporation engineers placing a heavy premium on the delivery of accurate and deadly fire at all ranges, it was natural that the XP-47 would be equipped with an upgraded targeting suite. The TZ-17 is one of Van Lierde's prototype Smart AI units. Coined Erasmus, the AI increases the effective range and accuracy of the Thunderbolt's weapon systems by quickly determining range as well as other factors that affect accuracy before projecting the predicted weapon path onto the HUD of the pilot in much less time than the onboard computer of the MAS would.
    Bauer KJ-7 (Smart-Target AI) - 0 WT 3 PWR - [CT] - The Smart Targeting AI of the Thunderbolt has been further upgraded with the Bauer KJ-7, allowing it to acquire and track up to 40 targets simultaneously, including missiles and other MAS's, instead of the standard 5.
    Wind SR-71 (Tesla Drive) - 0 WT 7 PWR [CT] - To provide the XP-47 with increased maneuverability and tactical options the Thunderbolt has been equipped with a custom designed Tuck SR-71 Tesla Drive, bestowing the heavy MAS with limited flight capacity.
    Tuck EPC (External Power Cores) - WT 5 PWR +10 - [CT] - To facilitate extended operation behind enemy lines and to counter the power intensive weapons and systems that it carries the Thunderbolt is furnished with an EPC that links an extra dual core powerplant to the T-801 Experimental Reactor, providing the heavy mobile armor suit with additional power.

Equipment:always keeps an ancient revolver on her(though it does not fire),a compass brand new,and she carries her lucky sock in her pocket

hmm, due to our distinct lack of fast moving units, I'm going to introduce the default squadron leader as a character, she'll have a full profile, but will likely be more of a NPC

..unless I decide that I like her more than Sterling...

A fast mover would probably be a good idea, just to avoid the risk of being too easily outflanked or outpaced.
