All had become harsh and cold. She could no longer tell where she was, how long it was until she hit the world below, only that she was falling and there was nothing she could do to save herself. It was as though her wings had disappeared. Lynneth was terrified. It was true, she'd been told not to wander. They'd been told to follow the path set before them. She must have been a fool, then, to try and run away. Was this nothing more than she deserved? Daring to open her eyes but a little, Lynneth saw where land met sky. The clouds were past. Involuntarily, her eyes snapped shut as she braced for impact.
