Her children shaped the surface of the world to their liking. Nadim and his wife created the seas. Adir added the sun to the sky. Myst added the moon. Xui created darkness and Phet created people to study the world. However things weren't perfect. Nadim's wife was killed and he retreated deep into ocean. Adir and Myst warred and brought their war to the people of the world. When the sun sets Colored in strife All hope is lost See ye the Light of Vailis It's the year 534 of the reign of Adirm and the end is upon us. The Kingdom of Udir is under siege from the Empire of Myst, as it has always been. However now, soon we will be over run unless we can find the salvation the prophecy spoke of. The Light of Vailis. She is the Goddess of the Sun and Harvest. She grants blessings to her people in the Kindom when they give unto her offerings. Most prayers are done during the harvest season. Nadim- God of the Oceans. Most often evoked by those who live by the sea or those who travel by sea. He is also invoked by travelers. He is a fickle God and most of the time he had aid you as mich as impede you. However if due reverence is not served he is swift in his wrath. Once he was Married but his wife was killed and he forbade anyone ever speak her name. Vailis- Goddess of the Future. Rarely mentioned except in the oldest of records. She is believed to have disappeared shortly before Adir set up her kingdom in the mortal world. The Udrim worship her almost as much as Adir because she is the one rumored to save the Kingdom of Udir. Myst- God of the moon. He has no love for the Udrim. He used to be the lover of Adir but she left him and set up her kingdom. This angered Myst so much that he established his own Empire and set it on the war path with Udirn's Kingdom. Legends had it that he hated Udirn so much that he joined the battle himself and slayed Udirn earning the animosity of all Udrim. He granted the knowledge of superior metal crafting to his subjects in the Empire. Xui- God of the Underworld. He also collects the souls of the fallen soldiers from battle and shelters them until they can be reborn. Peht- Goddess of Wisdom and Scholarship. She watches over the schools and those who seek her path. She demands no worship. Only that people continue to study both the past and how to improve the future. She frowns upon misused knowledge. Meya- The Creator. She slumbers deep in the center of the world. She is most commonly called the Sleeping Goddess because no one wishes to wake her, for if she does the world will begin to die. The biggest land mass is divided between the Kingdom of Udir and the Empire of Myst. Separating the two is a vast mountain range. 2. To the North East of the Kingdom and Empire are a chain of islands called the Tears of Nadim. They are home to seafaring island people. Their homes are whats part of the Reefs of Nadim, commonly known as the Mermaid Kingdom by humans. 3. In the south is another land mass. It's home to the Kingdom of Lune. The Kingdom of Lune is the oldest kindgom in the world. It was said to have been the first Kingdom. No one goes there and returns. Rumor has it because the Lune people kill them. Other Rumors say it's because it's so nice there that they never want to return. 4. The Gateway. The people who live here are nomads. They avoid the area known as the Dead Lands and warn others to do the same. The Gateway is half desert and half grasslands. 5. Isle of Udirn. A hotly contested land between the Kingdom of Udir and the Empire of Myst. It's said to be where Udrin died and is holy to the Udrim. It is valued by the Empire because of the strategic location. 6. The Dead Lands. Nothing nice grows in the dead lands. Monstrous creatures roam and anyone who enters dies. Mermen and Merladies are the Children of Nadim and his wife. They mainly live on the Tears of Nadim. Most of the Merfolk have magical abilities. However this doesn't mean they really have anything to do with the surface world as such. They might trade and exchange information, but they live under the water at the end of the day and humans do not. As a rule the Merfolk are neutral in the war between Udir and Myst. People of Lune. They're pretty much a mystery. Information about them will not be added here until you meet them in the story. Dragons. Dragons live for around 500 years. They are found in all reaches of the world. Most of them are smaller than horses. However there is a select breed that can grow big enough to carry a human. These are called Alitium. Alitium are native to Udir and Myst. This species of Dragon are used by the Dragon Knights of both sides to fight in battle. Smaller species of dragons are used as messengers or spies. A Dragon is loyal to one person until their death. This story will follow about seven people from the Kingdom of Udir as they travel the world seeking the Light of Vailis. It will begin with the group being formed. Each one of the characters were hand picked by the King himself for this Quest. Each and every one of you were called in secret, for if the Emperor Myst knew of this quest he'd stop at nothing to kill every one of you. Secrecy is of utmost importance. As for why you agreed to join this quest is up to you. But one thing is for sure, every one of you has some sort of tie to the King himself, a reason why he trusts you to do this. So this is going to be more of an Epic Quest story. I like to include input from those who join so while I do have a general story idea, input is always welcome. She has longer black hair, which is now turning silver in streaks. Lashita keeps it tied back and up and out of her face. When she's in battle or if there's possibility of a fight she keeps it firmly braided back and out of the way where it cannot be used as a hold. She has multiple scars upon her body, and not all of them are from battle, being a Dragon Knight has it's own dangers. The most obvious scar is the one on her face on her left side that runs just under her eye. She's by no means a pretty person. She's stocky and flat chested. Rumor has it that she cut off her own breasts because they "got in the way". Personality: Lashita is a cold woman. She stands apart from most people and that's the way she likes it. She's an efficient soldier and would do anything for her Kingdom. When Lashita gets drunk, which isn't often, she becomes a bit more agreeable. One thing Lashita hates the most (other than blasphemers against the kingdom) is being treated by a woman. She fought too long and hard to be anything but a warrior first and a woman second. One thing she loves is her dragon. It's the only creature in the world that she is nice to. History: Lashita grew up as a ward of Adir's church. As a ward life was hard. But she had a roof over her head and food to eat. Everything she's managed since then had been by her own will power. Like reading, math, tactics, and becoming a Captain of the Dragon Knights. She joined the junior knights when she was sixteen. Since then she has raised herself up through the ranks and earned the respect of the current King and the distinction of being the only female Captain. Skills: Lashita has minor magical abilities. Mainly enough to augment her swordsmanship and some minor healing abilities. Tactics. Can ride dragons. Personality: He can be very playful when he wants to be but normally is very somber and a bit of a smart-ass. His temper takes a lot to bring out, but with that being said, when he is the most relaxed is when he is the most dangerous. History: Killian was 'created' by a man named Viktor Melloan who wanted to try and make a human who was stronger, faster, and more resiliant then humans. The experiment went a little too well with Killian because he ended up being an almost perfect mixture of a Deadlands monster and human. When he was a child, he was kept away from other humans because of the differences he had from the other children. When he was finally allowed to be around others, he never went back to Viktor. Instead he kept his scales hidden and tried hard not to make too much eye contact because his eyes were different. With the siege still going on in his home, he wanted to find a way to help but didn't know how he would when people didn't seem to trust him. The King had orginally ordered the creation of Killian and when word got out that he had not come back for Viktor to keep tabs on him, the King sent out guards to either apprehend or kill Killian if he refused to follow orders. It took a few months but when the guards fianlly did find the Naga-hybrid, they dragged him back to the castle where he was given a choice by the king; Die there because of his assumption that he could do as he pleased, or go with a small party to find the Light of Vailis Skills: Fangs are connected to glands in the back of his throat which hold poison that cause paralysis that slowly disapates over a twelve hour period. Normally fights with a long scythe that is made of a dark metal and bound in leather around the handle. Because of the serpentine blood, his body is naturally very graceful and smooth moving which makes it easier for him to get in and out of tight spaces. Kyle by Hisoka (Move your mouse to reveal the content) Kyle by Hisoka (open) Kyle by Hisoka (close) Name : Kyle Blackstone Age : 46 Gender : Male Race : Human Appearance : Kyle is not exactly the type to make anyone comfortable by merely looking at him. Covered from head to foot in the scars of a thousand battles He radiates an aura of danger. Never found outside his distinct half-plate armour with its ancient style engravings. Most telling is the symbol of Xui engraved exactly over his heart. At his side hangs a hand and half sword with a very telling crest upon it's blade, the crest of the Empire of the Myst.Some might question this carrying of such a visble symbol of the Empire but only for a moment. Despite all it may mean there are few who can match the weaponsmiths of Myst. And so Kyle carries this sword for he has found none to equal it nor to surpass it. His shield on the other hand is a plain almost ugly looking thing of plan grey. It's twisted and bizarre shape looks like nothing a human would make. Physical Description : Kyle stands at 172 cm and weighs 74 kgs with a lean muscled build with the tendons standing out in stark relief. His hair is a deep red and worn in a short braid that just reaches the top of his back. A bronzed skin tone speaks of much time spent underneath the sun. His face is all harsh wind sculpted planes with nary a clue that Kyle knows what laughter is. His eyes are a clear and piercing green with flecks of gold strewn across them. Personality : Kyle is a man who has seen far too much war to have faith in anything. A bitter and lost individual the wandering former soldier knows only the cold comfort of at least being alive. Nonetheless He is one never to back down from a challenge nor one to ignore a wrong doing. Why Kyle is thus is perhaps the fact all soldiers have some sort of code. Though truthfully the scarred wanderer seeks meaning in a life devoid of it. He wants more then the bitter shell he's become. History Kyle was born a citizen of the Empire of Myst and from his youngest days was forced fed the usual propaganda and religious misinformation. His days spent learning all a citizen of the Empire learned Kyle soon came to question it all. But as he grew into a strong and agile lad the arts of a soldier were added to his daily routine. In this he excelled and soon outstripped all his peers. But marital prowess only added to his burdens as his trainers soon added officer training to his schedule. In this he to excelled and the day he turned 17 he and his company of fellow recruits were sent to battle the enemies of the Empire. This ranged from fellow humans to monsters. In this he proved exemplary and was soon granted his officers title. But the years of constant combat began to grate on him. And be began to wonder if the enemies he killed were worth the blood pouring off his blade. But the Empire he knew were not ones to listen to such thoughts and so he made a decision. The officer deserted his company, burned his uniform and fled beyond the Empire's reach. For the next ten years he wandered seeking a meaning beyond battle. But even helping the helpless only led to more battle. With each death he felt himself draw further from what he wanted to be. And so he headed straight into the Deadlands, perhaps in a desire to have it simply end. But the Gods it seemed had other plans for him. Despite near constant monster attacks he survived. Despite hunger and thirst he survived. So he took shelter in a cave and gave serious thought to simply falling on his sword. That moment he found a distinct suit of half-plate armour and a ugly and twisted shield. Going over to them he felt a vague sense of purpose. Not knowing why he equipped them and stepped outside. Fighting his way out of the Deadlands Kyle once more took to wandering to chase that purpose he felt in the cave. Skills : Kyle's prefers fighting with his sword and shield though he is comfortable with all weapons of war. He has a in depth understanding of every aspect of war and is just as comfortable leading a seige crew as a company of soldiers. In addition he is a skilled tracker and hunter. Fargrim by Tanstin (Move your mouse to reveal the content) Fargrim by Tanstin (open) Fargrim by Tanstin (close) Name: Fargrim Beard Age: 53 Gender: Male Race: Human Physical Description / Appearance: An old, but massive and well-built man often wearing clothing akin to a lumberjacks, he is often seen with the iconic lumberjack's axe. He carries a greatsword on occasions. He sports a flowing and untamed beard that is matted and blackened. Though his age certainly shows on the wrinkles on his face, he is an unsettling figure to be around. Personality: A man rather unacquainted with society, he tends to have his own quirks and lack of formalities. What little language he knows, it is usually spoken in a utilitarian manner, things such as "Go there" or "Climb this." Short phrases is usually what he knows, and that's usually what he needs to know. Otherwise, his steel does the talking. He is an aggressive person who does not hesitate to fight, even in the most unfitting situations. He does not despise humanity or humans, though his preference goes to beasts; mighty and regal ones such as the wolf, the bear or the stag. He also has an absolute hate for vegetarians, he rarely kills them however, knowing that they will die munching on leaves some time or another. He CANNOT by any means eat a diet only consisting of vegetables. There may be little bits of bread or cheese now and then mixed in with meals, but the majority is meat. Speaking of diet, Fargrim is a rather avid cook, often putting care into culinary creations, (usually involving meat of course) History: Fargrim's history is somewhat unknown, which usually stems from rumors and stories that go on in local villages. From what most people can gather, he resides in a forest known as "The Stonewood.", located near the east of "The Isle of Udirn." The trees are known for their tough and strong bark, though not fully stone, no average man can hew through stonewoods bark and into their inner rings. The animals that grew there were more larger in size by a small margin, though significant, and discernible. Logging and hunting there proved inefficient, the tales of a large and intimidating man inhabiting it didn't help attract attention either. The legend extends to the fact that he has the ability to tame beasts to his command, through forming some sort of mental link between the beast and himself, within the link, a battle of mental will undergoes, fighting for the submission of the other. The stronger and more proud the beast, the greater the will. Fargrim resides in a cabin said to be deep in the heart of the Stonewood, made of trees all hewed by himself with nothing but a sharp loggers axe. Another rumor recounts that Fargrim has no last name, the title "Beard" came to him due to his prodigious and grandiose beard, almost every depiction of him includes it. "They say his beard has a sort of hypnotic or mesmerizing power; you could not carry a conversation without ogling at his beard every few seconds for but a moment. Women are especially affected. They also say that he knows little of this power due to his isolation, though he does realize it has some influence over the people. I'd say this is a ridiculous notion, but I don't know for sure..." -Jerod Russen. When she does take off her cloak she has a very unusual appearance with long pale purple hair and strangely reflective eyes that seem to glow yellow at night. She wears a no strap tank top of white and she wears a silver skirt with it. Her cloak is heavy and black and covers her entire body allowing no one to really see her. Personality: She is very quiet and reserved, she is a good person though and when she talks she always means what she says. If she gets into a fight though her personality totally flips, almost becoming cocky and talkative though most of the words that come out of her mouth when she gets like that aren't nice. If you say something rude to her she will correct you, she has a very sharp tongue when you anger her. If she's not mad or fighting though she is sweet and quiet, almost silent letting her actions speak louder than words. History: She is a mysterious person that nobody really knows about but you can always find her in the massive Library in Udir, she is one of the few people actually able to read the books in Udir's Library. She is a person who keeps to herself more often than not but because she doesn't interact with other people no one knows what she's really like, she sometimes talks to children who aspire to be like her, it's caused rumors to spread of 'Those That Travel in Black' as these people are demons walking the world, only because they ignore most other people and try not to interact with people, and people fear what they do not know. Skills: Light Footed and fast, an expert in her blade, dancing, she's an amazing cook, called a Blade Dancer, alchemist, healer, a charmer and manipulator who can easily seduce an enemy to her favor, she is very knowledgeable as well but only in herbs and how to mix her potions, which can range from healing potions to deadly poison mists and everything in between. She is also a very intelligent individual able to read even some of the old languages. Coralie by Alice (Move your mouse to reveal the content) Coralie by Alice (open) Coralie by Alice (close) Name: Coralie Avish Age: Appears 19 (Acts 19 -- Actually 137) Gender: Female Race: Mermaid Appearance: Physical Description: Height: 5’ 7” Hair Color: Naturally golden blonde Her hair falls down past her shoulders and is always pulled half up, usually in a braid, but sometimes the top half is pulled up with a half bun. She keeps it half down because of dark black mermaid tattoos that run along the back of her neck Eye Color: Blue eyes that appear light blue on the outside edges and get into a deeper sea blue the closer to the pupil Very thin lips and pale complexion Her skin gets very dry and cracked if she is out of the water for too long. When she has recently been in the water her skin is very sleek and smooth, filled with moisture Long slim fingers Has a flat chest; which is unusual. (At least for a mermaid). Personality: Coralie is very strong willed, if she wants something done she will find a way. She doesn’t take “no” for an answer. Very often this leads her to trouble, whether it be a verbal argument or physical danger. She thinks she is capable of more than she actually is, sometimes her big risks pay off and other times it does not. Coralie has a soft spot for people with sad pasts or are not all human, like her. She is more open minded and will listen more to those people. Coralie loves a good challenge and adventure. She has been known to help plenty of people with work or other errands. She works as a vigilante on occasion- though she doesn’t believe in killing people, just harming them. Coralie doesn't believe in limits and believes all things are possible. She loves life and all people alike, and will go to great lengths to protect people. History: Coralie once met a man, a Udir man, in her lifetime. She found him on the coast of her homeland, the Tears of Nadim, like any cliche love story she found herself in a forbidden romance. A Mermaid and a human. She wanted to be with him and sought out a way to be with him. Even though the man already had a family, it didn't stop her from loving him. On her journey she found a way to change into a human while on land. But with any good quest their came a price for her legs. She didn't know it at the time, though she was warned what could happen. Especially what could happen to the man she loved, since this quest was for him. Once she received her legs she raced to the surface to find him. Unfortunately she was to late. She traveled all along the island, as a human, and even to the kingdom of Udir. She learned he had died as a repercussion to her quest to find legs. Coralie was crushed by the news and almost gave up on herself. But her strong will, and new love of the land, made her keep moving on. She found the man's family and kin and helped them out in favors and other tasks. She learned about humans and slowly she fell in love with Udir. She trained herself to fight on two legs after she witnessed brutal beatings and the war first hand. It took awhile-she spent years never returning into her mermaid form. She would bathe in the ocean water and continue training on two legs. One day she decided to return to mermaid form to go back to her family. After spending less then a week as a mermaid she found, after turning back into a human, that it was hard to use her legs again. She still kept her skills of fighting she just was slower then before and it took awhile to warm up to using legs again. Coralie now travels between her two worlds. Since mythical creatures, like Mermaids, live an extraordinary long life. Coralie has her very own legend past down from generation to generation, she is known as the Wandering Mermaid. Skills: When in water she can transform into a mermaid Is a fairly decent fighter with a dagger. When on land she carries around a small silver dagger with a shell handle. She can talk to sea animals and other water creatures She is very graceful. She doesn’t have much stamina on land and she can’t run very fast, (especially after a direct transformation between Mermaid to human), but she is graceful with her movements and finds it easy to dodge or maneuver around people and objects. Almira by Rainjay (Move your mouse to reveal the content) Almira by Rainjay (open) Almira by Rainjay (close) Name: Almira Rae Hartley Age: 27 Gender: female Race: human Appearance: Physical Description: She has light blonde hair reaching just past her shoulders that is short and light enough to not hinder her- she usually leaves it be instead of tying it back. Her eyes are a chestnut brown color, sometimes appearing more black than brown. She stands at roughly 5'6" with a shapely, muscled body and has a fair skin tone, slightly tanned from the sunlight. She bears no particularly distinguishing traits apart from a pink scar along her collarbone and a tattoo along her left arm. Her fingers are calloused, but her skin otherwise shows little to no signs of wear. She dresses with a hooded dark grey cloak with strange looking symbols embroidered on the edges. Underneath she wears a blouse with light leather armor to facilitate movement. On her back is a fair sized sheath full of metal-tipped arrows with carefully crafted shafts, and usually kept wrapped over her shoulders and torso like a bag, is a bow constructed of both dark wood and metal. Personality: Almira is still young at heart, with a generally playful attitude with companions and others. She enjoys a good joke and is generally carefree and lighthearted. She is an easy person to get along with in most cases, finding herself able to easily lure others into conversation and open others up. However she can quickly meld into a serious persona. Beneath her laid back attitude, she is intelligent and respectful, particularly to her superiors, and will generally do as told and cooperate. She is not the type to back down from a challenge and is ambitious. Her main weakness is her lack of wisdom and experience; she will often believe she can do the impossible, and with her ambitious nature, she seeks out success where there often is none. History: Almira grew up with a family that was not her own after being left behind as an infant. She was sheltered by a highly religious family who raised her to be independent and strong. When she was young she began to take an interest in archery and her adoptive father began to teach her in using the weapon before she was passed along to a professional instructor as an apprentice. She often joined her father in hunting for game and picked up skills on the way. She left her adoptive family when she was nineteen to begin her own life. Skills: Her main weapon and skill is with using a bow and arrow, which she has trained rigorously to gain an expert skill with. She has a keen eye and can be lethal, even from afar. Besides her bow and arrow, she has learn the basics of combat with a sword (although she would claim the weapon is to lanky and difficult to maneuver) and knives, both throwing and combat, although she only expresses these skills when in a tricky spot. She is agile, adept in healing (not magically) and is very good at hunting and tracking, having a keen set of ears to go along with her eyes. Rules: 1. Be Kind. Don't belittle other people and don't leave other people behind in the RP. 2. Romance is okay, but take anything not relevant to the plot private. 3.
