Pro Wrestling and MMA have origins within an older form of wrestling called "Clutch Wrestling."They are from the same family tree of fighting styles. Don't tell the UFC Fans 8D.

Peanuts are not a type of nut, they belong to the plant family, Leguminosae.

The capital of Australia is Canberra.

Only female primates, some bats, and the elephant shrews menstruate. Aren't we just the luckiest things? :D

I always thought it would be better for human women if you guys laid eggs, and parents everywhere if the kid could immediately walk and somewhat take care of itself.

Another fun fact: dogs aren't colour blind, but they can't see red. Buy your dog a blue ball so they can spot it easier.

A lot of shark bites aren't actually them attacking, it's just how they interact with things they are curious about. Also, if you find yourself being attacked by a shark, the whole myth of punching it in the nose is pretty much worthless; they bump into things frequently with their nose, it's not sensitive like ours. Instead, go for the eyes or gills.

Cows have best friends and get depressed if they're separated. As well, all cows everywhere face the same direction as a herd to eat.

Crows can remember faces and pass that information onto other crows. Researchers wearing masks did an experiment where some masks would be friendly and feed the crows while others would harass them. Soon, the crows would aggressively swoop at the mean masks and soon the researchers realized a lot of those crowd were ones they'd never seen before.

As well, a town (I think it was Owen Sound, I'd have to look it up) basically decided to cull a lot of crows for eating the crops in massive flocks. They shot one crow and the rest never came back.

The jay family of birds mourn other dead jays.

Cats are considered one of the most problematic invasive species in the world thanks to owners letting them outside. Cats are a species that will kill just about any small animal it can catch just for the fun of it.

This might be common knowledge by now. But [adult] Cheetahs don't meow. They chirp.

Also, the lion roar for the MGM studio logo is actually a tiger's. It wasn't always this way. It was an actual lion roar until the 1980s. The tiger roar was dubbed over the lion then and was first heard in Poltergeist in 1982. It has continued to be used since then. In fact, Lion's roars aren't really that impressive. All the lion roars in Disney's The Lion King were made by tigers or a voice actor.

Cashews are not actually nuts. They grow on trees like a fruit, and in fact appear to be grown on the bottom of a normal fruit (which looks sort of like a pear and apple hybrid). They are actually technically the seed of a fruit (of a specific kind called drupes, which are fruits with a pit like peaches and such, and what we think of as a cashew nut is the seed taken from the pit), not nuts. There are specific botanical requirements for something to be a true nut, and cashews do not match them.

Oh, and almonds are also seeds of drupes, not nuts. Walnuts and pecans might also be the same thing, but there's some disagreement among botanists about this since they're weird borderline cases.

Also, peanuts are not nuts, they are legumes (the same family of plants as beans of all sorts).

This means that most products labeled as "mixed nuts" are actually mostly legumes and drupe seeds.

Rice doesn't actually need to grow in water. However, they are among the few plants that can survive it, making it an excellent weed and pest control method and rice thrives in this environment.

You can sing the lyrics of the Pokemon theme song to the tune of Amazing Grace, and still have the correct number of syllables in each line, so it won't sound awkward. Go ahead, try it. (Of course, this also means that it works the other way around, too.)

On a completely different note:

Over the course of human evolution, babies' heads have gotten bigger over time, while females' waists have gotten smaller. This is one of the reasons why childbirth is so horrifyingly painful. :,D

Similarly, human babies are technically born prematurely. Nine months is really not long enough -- but it's the longest amount of time that the average mother's body can tolerate. So, ready or not, out ya go. This is one of the reasons why human infants are so completely dependent on their mothers for the first few years of life, despite the fact that many other mammals give birth to young who can walk within their first few days of life, and even the offspring of most primates are relatively far ahead in development compared to a human newborn. (@Dervish :P)

Pandas are extremely lazy about having sex, with only a very short window of time each year where they are both fertile and in-the-mood to do it (only a few days, I think)? They're also not the best at raising cubs, with the mothers sometimes accidentally smothering their offspring in their sleep. Oh, and they're super-picky eaters. While they can eat quite a wide variety of food (as their ancestors did), they now choose to only eat specific types of bamboo at specific times of the year, apparently willing to starve if such food isn't available.

While human activity is certainly a contributing factor to their status as an endangered species, it's also partially their own fault. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

- you can trap ants by drawing a circle using a permanent marker around them
- duck penises go kapow, but female ducks have anti-kapow vaginas and fake vaginas to stop the misuse of kapows, it doesn't always work.

Animals with horizontal pupils, like goats, can rotate their eyes so that their pupils are parallel with the ground at all times.

In Singapore, it's illegal to buy or own chewing gum.

"Buy or own"

So... Do you like, rent it or something?

Or is chewing gum not allowed at all?

I think it's not allowed at all. People started sticking it to things and the Singaporean government was like, "Not today." Thus, they made chewing gum illegal.

Oh I understand why humans give premie births, it's also a factor why why we have huge and extremely well developed brains, but still. Let's start laying eggs and become lizard people likr our Illuminati overlords want.

There are four different types of hyenas.

The spotted hyena, which is the most common.
The striped hyena
The brown hyena
The aardwolf

The maned wolf, found in central and South America, is actually not a wolf. Its closest relative is the bush dog. It has a face that resembles most like a fox, and its legs are quite tall, much like a deer. Its urine smells a lot like cannabis, so much so that in one zoo, police were searching for a possible user until they realized who the culprit really was!
