You have two choices
Lay down and die
Or get up and live​

You wake up in a white room: white walls, white lights, white floors. As your eyes adjust to the brightness, you see a white table sitting in the middle of the room. On this table are two weapons: a knife and a gun. Both will help you on this journey, and both are necessary items. However, you can only choose one.

After choosing, a door opens on your left, leading into another white room similar to the one you were just in. It is, however, much larger. As you enter the room, so do several others who look just as confused as you. Before you can ask questions or say anything at all, a voice speaks through an unseen speaker.

"Welcome to Experiment 52. You have all been chosen for this experiment because you display a certain set of skills. Your minds, bodies, and emotions will be tested to their limits. Should you fail, you will die. If you succeed, you will be released and compensated for your aid in this experiment. Good luck."

The speaker crackles, and you are left alone. You don't see any hidden cameras no matter how hard you look. There is no escape, either. You must either succeed or die trying. Or you may just give up entirely. It's your choice.​

Experiment Rules
Disobedience will result in death.

You may not harm another participant unless otherwise instructed.
You may not refuse to participate.
You may not engage in any sexual acts, consensual or otherwise.
You may not try to escape prematurely.
You may not vandalize any equipment.

These rules can be broken but expect dire consequences. If not death, something worse than death.​

Roleplay Rules
Disobedience will not result in death, but it may result in a very stern warning and then subsequent removal from the roleplay.​

1. Respect all Iwaku rules.
2. No god-modding or powerplaying. This means throwing punches without giving the other character a chance to dodge/block/otherwise.
3. No taking control of other characters. This is pretty obvious, but I've seen it happen before.
4. No omniscient characters. Meaning, your character CANNOT know what another character is thinking unless explicitly stated by the other user that their character's body language displayed their thoughts.
5. None of our characters will know each other. That means no relatives.
6. Respect other users. Keep fighting IC.
7. Don't be rude. Seriously, just don't.
8. For the purpose of this roleplay, please be adept in your roleplaying skill. I will allow intermediate, but be prepared to put work into your posts. I want a minimum of two paragraphs (5+ sentences) with only an occasional one paragraph. More is great but try not to go too overboard. Maximum of 8 paragraphs.
9. YOU MAY START WITH UP TO FOUR CHARACTERS. If you LAST character dies, you will be permitted to create ONE more character as a sort of "second chance." If that character then dies, then you will not be permitted to create any more characters. The purpose of this is to create the feeling of chance and survival throughout this roleplay.
10. Although I am labeling this as a "horror" roleplay, I will not tolerate gore. I don't want to read it, and many others don't want to either. This is an open roleplay, and the "horror" part of it is purely based on the fact that anything can happen and will happen. Please keep that in mind.​

Skill Sets
Choose one of these skill sets for your character. These will become important at some point. Please try to think past stereotypes.

1. Physical Strength
Whether they naturally have this strength or worked their asses off for it, these sort of characters have unequaled physical strength. While they are strong physically, they are not very strong mentally, nor are they the quickest thinkers.
2. Mental Strength
These sort of characters have mental/emotional strength. They are able to keep calm in otherwise stressful situations. Their mental strength has no equal, but they are not the quickest thinkers or the strongest fighters.
3. Intellect
These sort of characters think strategically. They can solve complicated problems efficiently. They are quick-thinkers but don't have the best physical strength.
4. Endurance
These characters have amazing endurance. They could probably run entire marathons and still have energy left over. However, this does not mean they are the fastest. They are average in all other areas.
5. Agility
These characters have unequaled agility. They are generally smaller in height in order to fit through tight spaces, but this is optional. They are quick on their feet, but they don't necessarily have the best endurance or strength.

Every skill set has advantages and disadvantages. Unless otherwise stated, each skill is average or slightly above average in the other skills.
They will all become important. Also, don't go to the extreme end of things. Just because someone has intellect does not mean they are completely weak. Rather, for the purpose of this RP, they will just not be very strong.

A Few Notes:

Basically this Roleplay will be centered around an environment that challenges your characters' physical, mental, and moral limitations. It will be an exploration of the true person of your character as well as a fight for survival. Every choice your character makes will have an effect. Whether that effect will be positive or negative will depend on the situation. I myself will not be creating any characters. I will only be controlling the situations and environments your characters end up in.
The enviroments your characters are in will change. They may end up in a forest--whether they believe it to be real or synthetic is up to you--or they may end up in a white room as described above. These are not the only situations they will be in, but these are two of the examples.
The gun and the knife both have importance, but only one will allow your character to survive. Choose wisely, as this will not be the same for every character.

Biography: She was born to a German middle-class family (in America though, so her first language is English) with two also very business-oriented parents. She learned three languages in middle school and high school: Chinese, Arabic, and Portuguese and was so advanced in high school that she skipped a grade and ended high school one year earlier than the rest. This caused her to be an outcast, which is where she used all of her free time to study and just finish high school as early as possible.

Biography:
Growing up as a black transgender atheist in America isn't easy. Especially when your family and neighborhood are full of conservative Christians. Verbally abusive parents, ostracizing bullies, violent policemen, Nickie has dealt with them all. With hatred coming from every side and nobody else to stand up for her, Nickie has learnt how to look after herself, the constant torment only making her stronger. Now she has crazy good mental strength, and is using it to aid her as social activist. She has become rather famous, often featured on TV fighting for people's rights.

Weaknesses
- Insensitive: Feelings and emotions come second to facts and "reality" for her. Emotionally charges situations are awkward, uncomfortable affairs, and her blunt honesty doesn't help here. She often has a lot of trouble expressing her own feeling as well.
- Defiant: She won't be boxed in. Repetition, hardline rules, sitting quietly while she is lectured at – this isn't how she lives her life. She is action-oriented and hands-on. Environments like school and much entry-level work can be so tedious that they're intolerable, requiring extraordinary effort from her to stay focused long enough to get to freer positions.

Biography:
Raileigh as seen from her personality she is not someone that can be tamed too easily.
Even in her school the teachers had problems with her and it was not unusual for her to end up with the principal.
For her it was the most difficult time as she had to constantly concentrate on studying, making homework and sitting still for those long, long hours.
That was the reason why she was so excited to eventually graduate.
A whole weight that fell of her shoulders as she now could do whatever she wanted.
Of course having to go to work to earn some money to live but she purposely searched for a job where she could be herself.
It did not pay much but it was enough for her to make a living: a painter.
That way she could express herself in many ways and either person had their own opinion about it.
She also liked to travel whenever she could as she absolutely adored getting to know new cultures and so widening her horizon as so to say.
Indeed, these are only the happy and bright scenes of her life.
Her darker sides are yet to be known to the people as she tends to hide those really well despite wanting to know everything about someone else.

Biography:
Fera did not have a normal childhood. Her mother was a functioning alcoholic, which meant that the woman rarely gave much thought to her daughter, while her father was a very busy businessman, which meant that his work kept him away from the house for long and often random hours. As a result, Fera grew up to be very independent and self serving. She couldn't trust other children for fear that they would make fun of her, so her main companions as a child were animals and books. She became very intelligent from reading often but since she couldn't cook very well, she didn't eat very well either (her mother was too drunk to cook) and so she never really grew very much. She is slightly smaller than the average female at her age, but she chooses to see this as an advantage and not a setback.

Likes:
Fera loves animals, as they never judge or hurt her. She also loves nature for it's beauty, and prefers the night sky over the daylight sun. She also loves music since it gave her an outlet for her emotions.

Dislikes:
Fera hates bullies, along with alcohol in general. She also dislikes people who don't like animals.

Strengths:
Fera is smaller than average for her age group and gender, meaning that she can fit into small spaces as well as avoid blows during fights. Due to her rough upbringing, she knows basic self defense since she had to protect herself from bullies.

Weaknesses:
Fera is very weak emotionally, and it doesn't take much to hurt her if you know what to say. It's also easy to drive her to anger, and when she gets angry, she doesn't make smart decisions and will ignore good advice.

But if one looks past her facade, they might find that she's not exactly what she looks like.
She gravitates towards danger. She's a bit of an adrenaline junkie and she loves the thrill of fear. She's the type to walk across a highway, just to see if she can.

She's a bit of a firecracker, and when angered can be extremely volitale. Otherwise, she's a sweetheart and usually the one to crack a bad joke.
She's had quite a bad time with breakups, one always ending rockier than the last. She's had trouble controlling her feelings, and when she gets angry she has a hard time holding things in. If she does say something rude or hurtful, she'll immediately feel sorry, but sometimes her pride gets in the way of her apologizing.

Her parents never gave her much attention, giving her free roam to do whatever she wanted. Which is probably the reason for her eventually turning to dangerous scenarios to feel emotions. To feel anything.

Strengths:
She's intelligent, and strong, Emotionally and physically. When she was little she was in Gymnastics and Ballet, and continued that up until she was fourteen. She has good upper-body strength, and once when dared she beat a college student at arm-wrestling.
She has a sharp tongue and doesn't take kindly to bullies. She will often take younger people under her wing and show them how to take care of themselves.
She's pretty, and can use that to her advantage at times.
Weaknesses:
She has a big heart, but she will constantly put herself in danger for the thrill. She says, If you don't have that holy-shit-I'm-gonna-die feeling at least once a week, You're not living.
She will more often than not, get herself stuck in traps or life-threatening danger. Although, she ends up getting out of them, she's had some pretty close calls.
She lives in the moment, and rarely ever plans ahead. She prefers life being a rollercoaster, and going with her impulses. Most times she can get herself into the strangest of scenes. One time, she ended up across the state.

Jade was born with a disease. It took her parents seven years to actually figure it out, and by the age of ten her father succumbed to that same disease. It was genetic, and Robin was the only one that didn't inherit it. Because of this, she has a lot of trouble with things that require strenous activity.
Her body is limited due to her disease, and sometimes she finds it hard to get out of bed in the morning. She's a happy person, and part of the reason she's happy is probably because she knows things could be a lot worse.
Because of this disease, She spends a lot of time in pain. Her immune system is susceptable to viruses or bacterias, and she gets sick a lot. She is on medicine for the pain, but sometimes it takes everything she has just to go to school.

Micah has a very strong personality. He doesn't easily back down when confronted with an issue. He's bold and because of this, he tends to end up in trouble from time to time due to his supposed inability to reject a challenge. He doesn't feel the overwhelming need to impress so much as he does it for his own entertainment and feed his adventurous appetite. He's outspoken, but not rude. He's a smartass, but not harsh. He tells the truth more often than not. He values the truth more than he does anything else. If you lie to him, you're likely on his "shit-list" for the rest of your being. He finds it unnecessary and uncalled for. However, there are some instances where he can understand. He believes sometimes that too much of the truth can do a lot more damage than a lie ever could. Where he does tend to rely a lot on physical strength, he's not what you would consider of the "jock" standard, nor is he pig-headed and egotistical. Contrary to what some may think, he does have a brain in that pretty little head. He may not have advanced thinking and intelligence, but he's not outright stupid. He knows when he's being fooled, toyed with. He doesn't take to kindly to that.

Micah is the son of Martha and Victor Adkins. He grew up in a good home. It wasn't the perfect family, but he was brought up the way any child should. Proud of themselves and the belief that they have faults just like everyone else. His mom, from the day he was born, always made sure he knew that he was no better or no less than anyone else. Everyone was a equal. It didn't matter what they had done. Whether they were frowned upon by the rest or not, it's the choices they made that were bad not the person themselves. His dad wasn't around much, but he presented the same ideals as Micah's mother. Micah lived a busy lifestyle. He was always participating in some sort of sport or club. You could honestly consider him to be the 'poster child' for greatness even though he didn't see it that way. His family had money, although it wasn't thrown around like the paper it was printed on. Most times, the money his family earned (after the bills were paid of course) went straight into a separate account set aside for Micah leaving him to be pretty well off in the present with enough money to keep him afloat until he was able to make something of himself. Now he is the owner of a publishing company in which he used that money to invest in.

Likes: Micah loves to find adventure wherever he goes. He likes the thrill. You'll often times find him out in the woods climbing or just hanging out like someone would at the movie theater. He likes being outdoors underneath the sun and around the trees. Micah enjoys the beauty of nature, its new discoveries, and its inhabitants.

Dislikes: He does not like a liar. Only under special circumstances will he let it slide (as stated above). He doesn't like complete ignorance or feigned ignorance. If something is in front of your face, how could you possibly miss it? Ignorance sometimes is bliss. It's possible that knowing too much could harm someone and the people around them and that's okay, but there is a point where some lies do get out of hand. White lies turn into big ones which cause an even bigger issue than the original problem itself.

Strengths: He is built rather well in muscle. He couldn't be in the running for a body builder, but he does have enough upper body strength to compensate. He's quick on his feet and able to take a punch or two with no problem. With that being said, he's obviously not invincible. He has limits just like everyone else, it just takes a bit longer to reach them. When comparing to the average, he's able to take more physical hits to his body than a random everyday person.

Weaknesses: He does have a big heart, meaning he's incredibly sympathetic. Some would argue a little toosympathetic. He may have a big mouth and a bold stand against others, but if you poke hard enough he's bound to give up sooner or later.

Kya Wilson is a bit of a free spirit. She allows conflict to roll off of her shoulders without a worry in the world and avoids drama at all cost. She highly believes that a problem does not become a problem until more people get involved, so she stays away as much as possible. However, in special circumstances where a mediator is need in order to keep things calm, and only to keep things calm, she will set aside this particular belief long enough to help. Kya has this unfortunate habit of cracking jokes when in a serious situation, usually making light of the whole ordeal. Especially if she sees that the problem isn't worth wasting a breath on. She can be blunt at times when speaking to others. She doesn't have much of what people refer to as a 'filter'. She says the things on her mind without prejudice or bias. Kya seems to be accepting of all things in or out of the norm no matter what it is. She has a strong sense of equality among all. Emotional situations make her wary and very uncomfortable. If you come to her crying it's likely that she'll turn away. This isn't to hurt anyone's feelings, she just generally doesn't know how to deal with or comfort someone else when they're going through a bad time. She can barely understand what to do with her own. So the next time you get upset because your boyfriend broke up with you and you're looking for someone to cheer you up, she is definitely not your girl.

For about half of her life, Kya grew up without a mother there beside her. Unfortunately due to some complications, her mother passed away during the childbirth of her younger brother Evan. Because their father never remarried or even thought about anything along the lines, they didn't have much of a mother figure. Their dad was both sides of the coin. If she were to say that it didn't have an effect on her, Kya would be lying. She missed her mom and would give anything to have her back, but she's happy with her family now. The recent few years everything has been peaceful. All of the painful memories were finally set aside and her family has been fully able to cope with everything. Before then, it was kind of up to Kya to mend the broken pieces. Her father checked out. While he was there and he put a smile on his face, he was still an empty shell. Kya allowed her father the space that he needed to mourn for his wife and mother of his children. Whereas most kids would be upset about having to 'grow up too fast,' she really didn't mind. She liked looking after her little brother and she knew one day that her dad would come back to the both of them. It was only a matter of time.

Dislikes: Clingy. It bothers her when people follow her around and shadow her 24/7. Same goes for when she sees romantic couples. If one partner in the relationship is so dependent on the other that they sit by the phone all day waiting for them to call, she classifies that as having no life and no mind of their own. You can call her bitter, she views herself as practical. She hates spiders. Never in a million years will you ever be able to convince her to willingly go within ten feet of one. She's aware that it is irrational and stupid, but she doesn't care. She'll rip your arm off trying to get away. She can remember one incident when she was fourteen and she asked her younger brother (who was eight at the time) to kill one for her while she sat on the dining table on the other side of the room. Wasn't one of her most proud moments, I'll tell you that.

Strengths: The fact that she has the standing to take on an issue like it's nothing, without her being bothered or letting it get to her is strength in itself. Some people don't respond well to teasing or disrespect. Kya just doesn't respond at all. She doesn't see worries as a weakness, but if you worried about every little thing that happened to you in life you would drive yourself mad... and she's not quiet ready to check into a mental institute just yet (kidding of course).

Weaknesses: Some may argue that because she never gets involved in arguments among her friends, and the tendency to crack jokes at serious times, that she doesn't have a sensitive bone in her body. Even if that isn't so. She cares just as much as the next person. She just doesn't know how to show it in the way that people may want it.

spaces or situations. He's a bit clumsy at times and usually stays in the background most of the
time, but please don't misunderstand him as a person who can't stand up for themselves and will
always hide away or retreat from a battle of some sort, he can be as fierce as any dragon. He is
almost mute, only talking when absolutely needed or when he's sure enough that he does. Because
of this, most people would rather go and socialize with someone else than come to him and try to figure out what he's signing out. Archie doesn't mind it much like he use to, he grew rather fond of people leaving him or not bothering to even acknowledge his existence, they probably have something better to attend to anyway. Once you come around to know Archie, he can actually be really goofy and talkative....even if his way to talk to you is whispering in you ear unless it's just you two in a room together.

Biography:
Archie was an only child, raised up by his mother and father. They always wanted Archie to be better,
to have the nicest clothes and to behave excellent whenever they needed him to. Archie never had the chance to do what he wanted to because his parents always steered him in the direction of where they wanted him to be in, they didn't even let him play with other kids because they thought others would mess up his way of thinking so much that he would stand up and rebel against them. Even though this was true, his parents couldn't stop him from growing and having his own mindset. He started to hide certain situations from his parents knowing that they would disagree, but even then they still treated him like he was a puppet and they were the ones tugging and pulling on the strings. After about fifteen years of this, Archie had finally cracked and decided to let his parents know how he actually felt about everything. From when they rejected all the friends he had to when they forced him into private schools and to move away from anyone who he might be seeing, he walked them through all the crap they put him through and why he never really got a chance to be himself. Despite this, they didn't really care and pushed it all aside with a "He'll get over it, it's just a phase.", but it didn't end there. Even though his parents didn't seem to be upset at the moment, they were furious and enraged with him secretly, but still kept the clingy and misunderstanding personality of theirs. What they did to him a few days later was beyond what they ever did before, beyond low down in every single way. Because of what happened, it left Archie locked up in a cage in his own mind. You can say it left him rather.... mute than anything else.

Reading
- He loves opening up a book, it's like he's being sucked into a
different world far away from where he is at that moment.

Discovering
- The feeling he gets when figuring out something or finding something
that he'd never would have guessed was there before is something that
he would always want to feel over and over again, you can say he loves
to learn new things as well along with this like.

Nature
- It soothes him even though he doesn't completely know why. His favorite
spot would be by a river or lake with calming waves, that would be heaven
on earth for him.

- Whether it's a 5000+ puzzle set or some kind of problem that
is needed to figure out, you can always bet that he wouldn't turn
down a challenge no matter how difficult it may be or may get.

Personality: Fun loving, and not afraid to show his emotions, Mark is very good at managing himself. While he can sometimes come across as a little strong, he means well. Making others smile is one of the joys he holds close. He fancies himself a bit of a loner. While being nice and exuberant for other people, he still feels lonely.

Biography: For years Mark had led a fairly simple life, despite the depressing state of his school life. No matter what he did, he never quite seemed to fit in. Eventually, around his early high school years, he adopted a personality that was all different than how he felt. Rather than be quiet and thoughtful, he tried to be loud and laughable. While more personable and exciting to be around, doing this sort of thing has sort of become a part of who he is. It's almost on instinct now that, when he deals with people, he turns into this louder, stupider version of himself. Talking to most people becomes somewhat of a chore now. Despite this personality he's adapted, he's still an introvert at heart. Over the more recent years, he's in senior year of college, getting a degree in photography. He doesn't have a boyfriend, and only a single real friend by the name of "Kylee". She has been the only person to make Mark reveal his true colors.

Likes:

Climbing. He hates spending time alone with his thoughts, so instead he gets out a lot. What started as mere jogs and morning hikes turned into something more. He started climbing a lot. He'd become so good at it that one day he decided to start practicing what he saw in a few video games and movies-- "free running". He's practiced it over the past two years and has become very good.

Music. There's little else Mark loves as much as singing. He likes all kinds of music, from rap to show tunes, but he always loves singing sort of sad and softer music to himself. He'd never get up on a stage if he had the choice. Stage fright always overtook him.

Peace. There's nothing better than the feeling that the world is completely still and calm. This is the little joy that Mark tries to find in everything he does.

Dislikes:

Conflict: He absolutely hates conflict. When fighting starts, it reminds him of his parents and so he shuts down. He reverts to that shy lonely kid he'd been trying to cover up for so long and gets angry.

Bullies: If there's one thing he cannot stand, It's bullies. When someone decides to pick a part the "weaker" man for his own gain-- it makes him sick. And will, under intense situation, make him violent.

His Family: Mark always avoided going home for as long as he could stand it. His parents often fought. Usually when his father was drunk. One day his mother disappeared and his father directed his anger at the young Mark.

Adaline is a female who will fight for what's right no matter how many

act big and tough on the surface when in reality they are the weakest link.
She can come off as bossy sometimes, but that's only when people want
to be hardheaded and rebellious at the wrong time and in the wrong
situations, messing up everything for everyone. If someone is wrong, she
won't hesitate to confront that individual no matter what it may cost her or them.
Despite that, this doesn't mean that she won't "save" someone, if a problem
surfaces and someone has done something wrong, yet the only way to
save them was to shut up, smile, and say positive things then she is willing
to do such a thing, but it only happens at certain times.

Biography:
Adaline had always loved her family and had a tight group of friends for as long as she could remember. She could truly say that she wouldn't change her life for anything, even though it wasn't perfect like some people may have thought. Just as Adaline thought everything couldn't get better than what it already was, well it didn't. She didn't know why, but everything started to crumble to the ground and it all started with a fight her friends got into, which made them all split up and go their different ways. Since Adaline didn't want to chose anyone over someone else, she was left by herself. On top of that, her parents health sunk and they began to become very weak and sickly, though they didn't die from illness of any kind. Her friend had came over to her house very intoxicated and started to play around with knives and such, getting extremely dangerous and mad at her for not picking him. He killed them first and tried to kill her too before she snatched the knife away from him. The neighbors had called the police because they heard loud noises and screaming, thinking that there was something seriously going on. Almost immediately they blamed her because she had the knife in her hand and she was holding their lifeless body while her "friend" retreated down the street somewhere before they even got a glimpse of him. It took them about six years to find out that someone else committed the crime, but by then Adaline had already lost everything. Nothing was going to change her families mind no matter how hard she tried to convince them that it wasn't her, that was one group she couldn't persuade. From there she just decided to run away from it all, move to a different place and try to forget about her passed...but everyone knows you can't run away from what had already went down. She's been living on her own independently ever since.

Biography: Josh was what most people aspire to be. He was clever. He was even well read... Until he was fed up with all of it. Since his father's death, his mother imposed the highest standards on him through his school life-- and never stopped. There was no time for love. No time for fun. And no time to de-stress. He took solace in the small amounts of time he had in the gym, where he could literally take out his frustrations on the punching bag. He graduated high school early, and moved out of his house the second he got the chance. He's actually been filed as a missing person several times by his mother, though he cared little for her. He'd been training with a coach in a local boxing club. He's fought in a few tournaments and gotten far, even winning a few. Though he ran away to be a free spirit, it was too late for him. His mother's cold attitude and personality had already left it's mark on the boy. Though he may not realize it, he's exactly the same. He doesn't smile. If there's a task to complete, it will be done. With efficiency, and swiftness. On the inside, he feels greatly for a lot of things, though no one sees it.

Likes:
Fighting: There's little else that can keep his mind off of things like fighting. Fighting is so simple, and he's become very good at it.
Exercise
Writing: There had never been any real way for Josh to express himself. So he took ink to paper and wrote a lot. After a time, he'd become a very decent writer in his own way. Often able to express things most can't put words to, his writings can offer a unique and intense view on the world in front of him.

Dislikes:
Arguing: Nothing gets done when an entire group argues. A consensus should be made, otherwise It's time wasted.
Puzzles: He's put his life of academics behind him, and doing things that require a lot of intellectual brain power just remind him of the life he's thrown away.

This caused her to be an outcast, which is where she used all of her free time to study and just finish high school as early as possible.

From what I understand, orientation refers to the gender a person prefers to fornicate with, i.e. heterosexual (male/female), homosexual (male/male;female/female), among others.

On the other hand, sexuality refers to how someone is attracted to the above, such as demisexual (sexual feelings after long commitment), androsexuality (sexual feelings for masculinity), etc.

Most of the time, they are correlations of each other and are often mixed up to be the same thing.
