Cinereus left the training room, with Alesani's words echoing in his head. He tried and failed to keep his mind from running away with its implications. He couldn't wait until he started teaching her the fine art of torture. At this rate, he might just end up using her as the example. He forcibly pulled his mind back on track as he made his way to his study and powered on the terminal there. With a database of scrolls and ancient texts in front of him, he tried to research the artifact that Alesani had brought back from the Dark Temple, yet his mind refused to read the texts, instead fixating on Alesani. He eventually gave up with a frustrated snarl. With work seemingly out of the question, he decided to appease his curiosity instead. He pulled up imperial databases and searched for Alesani's name. What he found was interesting.
She was born within the Republic, and her father and brother were both Jedi, yet here she was, at the heart of the Empire, full of anger and hate, training to become sith. He wondered if the father and brother were the one she had wanted to kill. If that was the case, they would have to make a trip into Republic space one day.
After that detour, he was able to concentrate better on his work. Several confusing texts written in an archaic language later, he was able to discover that the artifact was something called "The Ravager" and that it was used to break people's minds to force them to reveal information. Useful artifact.
When he glanced at a nearby clock, he found that it was getting to the time when normal people went to sleep. With a sigh, he powered off the terminal and stood up, stretching slightly. He resisted the urge to go to Alesani's room, stepping out into the hallway to go to his own instead.
