Mission Full

Los-Angeles-Skyline.jpg

Los Angeles. one of the Crown Jewels of the West coast, as coined by CatCo Worldwide Media, along with National City, San Diego, San Francisco, and Coast City.
Crime is no stranger to Los Angeles with one of the highest crime rates of cities in California. But, crime, after a fashion was somewhat predictable. People choose a life of crime, and recidivism in criminals is high.

What is strange is a rash of burglaries, armed robberies and other type of theft from people who had never committed crimes before. Even more strange - none of them remember committing these crimes, even under polygraph. They simply don't remember. Most of the thefts were from law abiding citizens who had never even had so much as a traffic ticket. Those who weren't caught during the act dumped their ill gotten gains somewhere that they cannot remember, even with trained psychologists aiding them.

This sounds like a job for...

You, maybe?

I don't believe you are responsible. But this will be hard to prove.

What is the last thing you remember prior to the incident. Anything unusual, anything at all.
"Fuck! Don't you guys work together? You're like the third guy today who's approached me about this. First it was that Winter Soldier ripoff, then some dude named after the devil. Now, Fucking Hercules?" For a moment he spun around and tapped a few buttons on his cell phone, bringing up a YouTube video.

"At least you're with SHIELD - and if you don't mind could I see some ID first; Something that confirms that since you're the third person today to ask me the same damned questions and this is starting to border on harrassment?"

@Gands

For a brief moment, there is the fire of my temper in the backs of my eyes.. I take a moment to gather myself back in. I take out my ID and show it to him. Then I take out my phone and dial a number.

Hello, agent Cardiff ?, Yes, this is Hercules. Send a computer clean up squad to this address. Yes, bring the court documents we had in reserve, I want every electronic item in the building scooped up.

Of course, I am dialing my land line at home & running a bluff...Now I wait and see how he reacts!

"Dude. I just wanted to see ID. I'm holding onto my job just barely right now. You bring the feds in here scooping up everything EA and the twenty other damned companies have here, I won't work anywhere again! Jesus Fucking Christ, I swear you guys have no Goddamned sense of humor." He turns to face Hercules.

"Look. I'm frustrated. Last thing I remember, like I told the other two guys, was getting off of work, going to Flynn's, hitting Watadonut and heading back to the underground entrance to the Red Line at Hollywood and Vine. Next thing I know, I'm being handcuffed and tossed in the back of a squad car, and it's two days later. It's not a long story. Fuck, I should just facebook that shit so everyone knows."

@Gands

"I did my four years. It got me the money I needed for college." Shelly snapped, defensively.
"I did my four years. It got me the money I needed for college." Shelly snapped, defensively.

Lucifer looked at her for a brief moment. " Never accused you of anything. No need to get mad," he replied.

"Yeah, it tells you I've got tits. Women guards, you think a lot of us get assigned to prisons with general population?" Asshole. That last word wasn't said but Lucifer could practically hear it.
Lucifer wasn't about to comment on that little bit. He may have used woman for his own personal gain, once or twice. He wasn't innocent on that front in the slightest. He needed to see his therapist after this.
"I don't involve myself a lot in the details. A lot of quiet people just snap. He hasn't even been arraigned yet, so technically, he's still an alleged criminal. I'm starting to think that you're not here for McCallister at all and that you're here from IA waiting for me to slip up. So tell me... are you a cop?" She knew that by law, if he was he was obligated to say he was, and at this point, Lucifer could tell she went from being bored and neutral to defensive and suspicious. Maybe he needed to polish up his game some, as she wasn't being loosened up into talking about McCallister with this current approach.
Lucifer hadn't exactly turned up his charm, but he was starting to suspect that she was one of those mortals. The ones who were only a little affected by his gifts without some persuasion. He wasn't going to feel any remorse when he finally did it either. He looked at her when she asked him if he was a cop. " As I mentioned before, I'm a consultant. Nightclub owners don't generally make good cops at all. We tend to be just a wee bit unpredictable," he said. He stopped talking for a brief moment and turned on his charm, his power right now. " So, can you tell me anything that isn't on the record? Anything unusual about him?"

"Nope. Like I said, I haven't said two words to the guy that I haven't had to. I don't pay attention to the guests unless they're doing something out of the ordinary. I'm only here when the guy leaves for work. You'd have to ask Marco or David who work overnights for when dude gets back, he works like from mid-afternoon til some ungodly hour of the morning." Shelly replied. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and this time, it was.

For a moment, a very brief moment, Lucifer saw a crucifix highlighted on Shelly's forehead, as if from a strange pattern of shadows from the window, then it was gone. Could be a coincidence, could be a sign. But Shelly really seemed to not know much at all about McCallister, nor like males much at all it seemed.

I listen politely for a few moment and when he stops..

It must have been quite an ordeal. Again, for the record, I believe you. A couple more questions. Do you have the names of the other two people who spoke to you ? And about what time and where ?

"Both came to my... apartment, this morning. Before I left for work. First guy, the Winter Soldier looking guy, said his name was Bruce Grayson. Second guy some consultant for the LAPD, named... get this. Lucifer Morningstar. That has got to be a fake name. His SAG name, or porn star name or something."

Understood, do I have a contact number ? Call me tonight.

I think to myself, how many others I am going to trip over before this is done.

I get off the train at the next stop after Eisley. I head into a fast food place and change back into something more official looking. I"m now headed towards the business where McCallister works.

Not the kind of home you would expect from a mortician who moonlights as a stage magician. It felt more soccer mom than anything else. The car, at least, seemed to reflect that better. A black boxy sedan with tinted windows and a vanity plate "N0WUCME"

Once Eisley got to the door and knocked, It took a moment for him to answer the door. "Hello? I wasn't expecting anyone." Gary said with the door open just enough to allow communication, but more than say, a paranoid level.

Eisley Cloud
@Gands @Michale CS

Eisley carefully handed Hercules a business card, it had her work number and her email... Though it was basic, it should suffice, at least until she could provide more personal information.

...

Arriving at her destination, she took note of her surroundings before turning to the door and knocking, fortunately despite the door being only cracked open to greet her, he didn't seem too paranoid.

"Just got a few questions, if you don't mind." She said, putting on her friendliest smile.

Though she didn't expect him to recognize her, as she was an obscure enough model, she at least tried her best to seem more friendly than she might have let on previously.

Alright Mr. McCallister, anyone else aside from an officer of the law talks to you about this, you don't have to speak to them, in fact I'd advise against it. You can tell them to talk to me or the police.

If I need anything else, I'll call next time.

I call my shield computer assistant. Hi there, this is Hercules, anything new ? I have something for you, two names, Lucifer Morningstar, maybe a consultant with LAPD and Bruce Grayson. Let me know what you come up with stat.

I send Eisely a text about McCallister and the watadoughnut shop and the nearby entrance to the redline.

I head down there and proceed to take pictures with my cell phone.

Lucifer sighed, as he had wasted his power on this girl. Thankfully, he had learned a little bit of information on him. He had learned that the man was allowed to go to his job and that there was someone else who saw what was going on here. He was glad that his effort was entirely fruitless quite honestly. " David or Marco, I guess I will have to come back later to talk with them," he said, as he looked at her and decided to go back to sit down.

Lucifer paused when he saw that there was a crucifix highlighted on Shelly's forehead. Was this dear old Dad messing with him or was it something else entirely? He decided to take it as a sign that miss perfect was useful. " If I may ask, what's the longest someone can stay in that room with the guest?" He asked. He was about to gauge time at this point too.

"Won't do what? You're not making a lot of sens-oooohh... you have some vampiric mind powers or whatzit. Waaait. You're not going to have to, like bite me or anything to do this are you? I mean I want that missing time back but I don't want to end up anyone's snack either. And I don't wanna end up Renfielding for someone. My life is full enough without that garbage. Just... tell me in detail what you'd have to do before I agree to anything, okay?"
"I don't renfield anyone."

He considered briefly before speaking.

"Anymore at least. I bite you, I control you for a brief time and it may be enough to counter the first compulsion. Its not a nice guy ability though. Up to you. Its only if I feed repeatedly that it becomes a problem."

"Okay. If I'm able to work after a good night's sleep and it's not too painful, you have a deal, with one provision. You give me a way to contact you in case I get really in the soup for remembering. Whovever blacked me out might realize that someone undid their whammy and come back to finish me off in a more permanent way. I want my time back but not at the cost of getting in worse trouble. Deal?" She stood and walked over to him, sticking her hand out.

"I don't need air conditioning service nor do I spend enough on my electricity bill to qualify for solar panels. If you have something to sell me other than that I'm strapped right now." Gary rattled off. "If that didn't invalidate your reason for being here, then you're welcome to come in."

And being that it didn't, she was let in. The front room was decorated, well, like something out of a horror movie.
cool-gothic-living-room-designs-13.jpg

This was in stark contrast to the outside decor. "Please, have a seat on one of the couches." Gary gestured. "Obviously you know who I am. Who are you and why are you asking me questions, are the questions I need answered before I answer anything you might ask me, by the by."

"Sure thing, Agent Hercules." He gave him a mock salute and cued up another video. "Let me play you out..."

It doesn't take her long to pull up the information, as she was prepared to run names the moment Hercules stepped out onto the field from the hotel suite - adjoining rooms, set up command center style. "Bruce Grayson... nothing on our list, either an assumed name or a new player. I'll do a deeper scan. The other one though... if that's really his name, ARMOR has him as the surviving Lucifer, that Lucifer, much like you're the surviving Hercules. And, oddly enough, he does actually consult with the LAPD. No clue about why or how. Also... he runs a night club. I'll get you the address later."

"Eh. We don't put a hard limit on it but they have to be out before dinner. I'll call him if you want and let him know he's got someone waiting. Maybe he and his other guest can come out here to the lobby. If I can see all of you, you can both visit at the same time. Want I should do that?" Shelly offered.

@LuckycoolHawk9

I take a thorough look at the donut shop and the path to the red line, twice looking for things that stand out, odd.

Once I'm done with that, I send what I have to my assistant and make my way to the night club my assistant was talking about. (( assuming I have the address by then )) I switch out to a different set of clothes at the hotel. Black leather kilt, belt and boots and a silk shirt. I head out on the fancy motorcycle. Of course, I have my backpack, just in case. Lastly, I send another text to Eisely letting her know where I am going.

The only thing of note here is that the donut shop from the front, or from any of the four tables just inside the doors by the windows, have a direct line of sight on the entrance stairs that lead down to the Red Line. That and it's a twenty-four hour shop. But being in the midst of Hollywood, all night food places and bars are not that much of a rarity, though a donut shop is an odd choice for such a thing.

Since it was a night club after all it didn't even open up until 8pm, so he had some time to kill before that happened.

SCHOOL TEACHER ARRESTED AFTER CRIME SPREE
Unexplained Crimes Continue
by Renee Montoya

Lauren-Redfern-31361451_116061_ver1.0_640_480.jpg

Lauren Redfern, a teacher at Central High School in the LAUSD, has been arrested after several crimes, increasing in their boldness. The latest caper in which she was attempting to steal a school bus equipped for special needs students, was her last, as she was caught by tracking the GPS locator the radio on the bus was outfitted with. She was pulled over at the Alameda exit of the 10 freeway, near Union Station this afternoon.

Like the other strange crimes that have plagued the area, Miss Redfern claims no knowledge of her crimes, which have not been released to the press. Through our sources, it is known that there were a series of crimes that seem to be attributable to Redfern, not the least of which is the theft of a shipment of iPads that were supposed to be delivered to an undisclosed LAUSD school.ol.
Miss Redfern, aged 34, is a mother of two and has gotten numerous accolades from her employer. Her husband declined to comment when questioned.
It is not known if Miss Redfern is simply a 'copycat', feigning ignorance of her crimes or if she is the latest victim turned criminal in this ever growing, and ever disturbing, crime spree.

The last time she saw me was me telling her that I was finally free. I thought I was. I had closed my eyes and let the darkness fall over me. I was ready because I was tired. Even then, I was so tired of fighting the monster, of fighting myself.

In my ongoing quest to free myself, I had travelled all over the country. I had learned some things, tried to do some good, but in the end the wake I left was always the wake of the monster destroying everything in it's path. So I moved on, I had to because I was being pursued by McGee who was on a lifetime quest of his own. Except his ambition was even more pointless than mine. If he ever had caught me what would he do other than get himself and the people around him destroyed? Would he try to bring the monster to justice? Would he then try to imprison the monster in a cell? So our game continued, the monster leaving a trail of destruction the city wondered about while I, David Banner, left a more subtle trail of confusion and lost loved ones. In the end, McGee wasn't the one who caught up with me. It was Jasmine.

Jasmine, the former Russian spy who intended to say my final words to, had found me. It started out the same as the old rest: we were in love, I was trying to find a cure, and then some outside criminal element, and then the monster. Except this one time, it didn't quite the same. I never really knew the story, only that I had fallen into darkness and woken up in another strange place in a completely different part of the country: something that had never seen before. Eventually, I found out what happened. The news showed the damage, damage of a greater scope than the monster had ever left before. Now, instead of again trying to cure myself, I ran. It didn't matter if I was caught or killed, I had accepted death already. It only mattered that I ran. The monster took over at times...and evenutally I woke up in South America. No place could ever feel like it was far enough, but I had to stop sometime. There, practicing medicine for the small villages, I began the quest to control the monster through other means. I was lying to myself of course, but what else could I do?

Jasmine had spent the months and years at first trying to locate David Bellamy and finally began to discover the trail to the truth. She was so much more resourceful than McGee. Eventually, she found me on the internet. She had sent someone to drive me to a place in Los Angeles, where we could finally meet.

The only thing I could give her now, the only thing I was willing to give her, was the knowledge that her quest was successful. That she had located David Bruce Banner. In her hand was what I wanted: the picture of the monster. Not the old monster, the new one.

The monster with me now was even more frightening than before, larger and more destruction than anything I could have imagined. The previous Hulk seemed like a weightlifter with an elaboate makeup job in comparison. This new Huk, which leaped over buildings and lifted trains and caused heavy wind damage with just clapping his hands life in me now.

We talked a long time as I told her all the happened. I explained to her that I did love her but that was the reason I left, and as I looked at the picture of the Hulk I knew that I had done the right thing. Even by accident, the new Hulk could kill Jasmine at any time.

I was glad in that moment that she had been a Russian spy, she was hidthe pain she felt so well. "I understand David...but it is so sad. Not just for us, but for you. You have my contact information now. If ever I could help you or even just to have someone in the world to talk to, please remember me."

She kissed me tenderly, and left me. Because I wanted her to.

She was the only one who ever found me, and the only one who left me.

Hours later, I was still sitting there in Los Angeles staring out the window of a

[BCOLOR=#008000]24 hour doughnut shop right next to the RedLine.[/BCOLOR]

"Now..." Jason looked at her name tag. "Shelly, which way is his room?"
"Just down the hall to the left Room 11B. Stay more than two hours, expect a visit from a staff member. I'll buzz you in."

Once Jason had gotten to the entrance door and been let in, it wasn't hard to locate 11B. This still didn't look like a prison to the untrained eye much, but Jason's eye wasn't untrained. Bubble cameras every 15 feet on the ceilings, the doors metal with reinforced frames and electronic locks. The window at the end of the hallway a double paned tempered glass on the inside, a latticing of painted steel bars in the middle, and another set of glass on the outside. At the base of each doorway were a couple of squarish holes, presumably so the doors could be barred from the outside.

As he got to McCallister's room, the door opened. He'd obviously been alerted that he had company. He had a very puzzled look on his face.

Elijah%2BWood%2B3.jpg
"They said a friend was coming to visit me. I don't know you, mate. Mind explaining why you're here?" He didn't ask Jason in, but he wasn't closing the door either. It seemed he was at least curious.

In fact, he stepped out into the hallway, letting the door close behind him, but he said nothing further yet.
@thatguyinthestore

Jason walked towards McCalister and slams the files of several other suspects on the desk in front of him.

"These people have robbed different stores, banks, and people and apparently have no recollection of it. Same with you. Now, I don't think that this is a coincidence. I don't think you do either. One of these people messed with my operations, now I'm gonna find the man responsible. Just tell me who's behind it and I can go on my marry way."
