Title: Monkey See, Monkey Do.
Power level: Enhanced to Global
Look/Feel: [Mastermind's Machievellian Plot ]

Mission Full

Los-Angeles-Skyline.jpg

Los Angeles. one of the Crown Jewels of the West coast, as coined by CatCo Worldwide Media, along with National City, San Diego, San Francisco, and Coast City.
Crime is no stranger to Los Angeles with one of the highest crime rates of cities in California. But, crime, after a fashion was somewhat predictable. People choose a life of crime, and recidivism in criminals is high.

What is strange is a rash of burglaries, armed robberies and other type of theft from people who had never committed crimes before. Even more strange - none of them remember committing these crimes, even under polygraph. They simply don't remember. Most of the thefts were from law abiding citizens who had never even had so much as a traffic ticket. Those who weren't caught during the act dumped their ill gotten gains somewhere that they cannot remember, even with trained psychologists aiding them.

This sounds like a job for...

You, maybe?

"I'm Doctor Leonard Skivorski. Mainly I'm a psychiatrist, but due to being transformed by gamma radiation but to a lesser extent, I've made it my life's work to help the Banner I knew to work on a cure. Also, those are very good questions and tests you came up with there. Let's get to work."

I never imagined that the inability to hide from people I've never met would become a problem in my life. It almost seemed like the intelligence was having me live Bruce Banner's life for him. Which either meant the the intelligence had a strange sense of humor, or a purpose which was not known to me yet.

I was so glad that the people I kept meeting were friendly toward me, I hate to think what happens when I meet his enemy and don't recognize them until they do something

"Uhhh. Thank you, Dr. Skivorsky My name is actually David. David Banner. I'm him...but I'm not him. The other him. I mean, it seems like our lives were almost completely different. When we're done, can I ask you a question about him...Bruce"

There was a burning question on my mind, but it was one I knew better than to have answered before serious work was done. There was no answer which would not be distracting.

"Sure thing, David. I'm just glad we're getting off on the right foot... now to these tests..." Samson grinned and the two settled into a pattern. Sort of unsettling yet familiar at the same time. Within twenty minutes the pair were almost finishing each other's sentences. This Skivorsky certainly knew his stuff when coming to biological transformations.

It looked yes, with time and effort they would be able to divide the monkey (which did turn out to be Capuchin by the way) from the person... but with a strange aid.

"One of two people I am familiar with will be able to finish up the final separation, David. One is called The Vision, and the other is called Shadowcat. Both have the ability to not only pass through other matter, but to take other matter with them when they do. Our job is to get these DNA patterns as isolated as we can, then... direct whichever of the two, I'm thinking The VIsion would be more reachable, to phase into the patient, lock onto one of the two patterns and emerge with it."

He showed David his theorem on this and it seemed sound, but it looked like there could be a few tweaks of improvement that could be made, which glared out at Banner because of all of his prior experience.

Jason opened one eye and looked at the kid. It seemed as though he was gonna be here a while, so he might as well make some small talk. "So are you supposed to be Flash's sidekick?" He asked, arms crossed.
"Nope. I just took the name because my powers are the same. Speed force and all that. I thought of other names... Speedy, Quicksilver, The Whizzer... but man everything's taken anymore!"

Jason shrugged and placed his hands behind his head, interlocking his fingers and leaning back once again. "I haven't heard of a single one'a those freaks. Then again, I ain't from 'round here so that could be why." Jason said. He honestly wondered if anyone had even checked his records, and why he was being escorted by a damn Avenger at that. He knew that they had no idea he was Robin before, at least as far as records showed.

A Lord Technologies truck pulled up and a bored guy got out of the passenger's seat. He walked around to the back of the truck and lifted up the roll door. It wasn't til after he'd lazily put the ramp up and gotten into the back of the truck before he even seemed to notice Eisley. He looked down at his clipboard. "Eisley Cloud?" Damn that's a porn star name if I ever heard one. Nice one Max.

Eisley Cloud

Eisley nodded, quickly assuming a more formal posture, even dusting herself off a little, though she was just here for a delivery, she still wanted to keep up her image, at least outside of her suit.

"Yes, that's me. I presume the delivery's ready?" She asked.

Just to be doubly sure, she too a brief glance into the back of the truck, though she was doubtfull it was the case... There was always the chance something might have been off, and she figured she'd be better off catching it now than later.

"Yeah." He walked up to Eisley after confirming something on his phone briefly, and handed her a set of car keys. "In the back of the truck are the drinks, the stuff for setting up and tearing down the booth, and the little go-cart they want you to drive around in on campus. Guess you got some lackies to hire too. Sign here." He held out the phone, where a receipt listed all the things she was being handed, including the truck! It awaited her signature.

Eisley nodded, looks like she had things set out for her, figuratively and literally. Advertising work like this wasn't uncommon for her, and she was happy to do so, with the added benefit of snagging one of those drinks for herself. Doing a brief checkover to make sure all the merchandise was there (literally this time), she nodded a little at his mention of lackeys.

"Guess so. I got some contacts, I'll be fine." She said with a small wink, and a smile.

Honestly, she looked like she might have popped straight out of one of those magazine covers she had starred in, but that moment didn't last long. She didn't waste too much time, and signed the receipt, though a job like this was usually a bit dull for her sometimes... This wasn't a simple matter of just advertising for some company, she was also keeping an eye out for suspicious activity.

She had a feeling whoever was running amuck with mind control, might want to crash this little event somehow, but relying on human intuition alone right now... It was difficult to guage whether or not her suspicions would be correct.

"Yep. That's why you're being given the red carpet treatment. The way you went all action movie bad guy on a truck moving over 60 on the highway, the neat gadgets... and giving the name of a dead kid who was once the ward of Bruce Wayne, plus... Arkham Knight. What does that mean, I'm a crazy guy with a sense of chivalry?" Kid Flash leaned in a little.

"I mean, the guys who are gonna be talkin to you next are gonna hit you with all of this so... confidentially, we got a DNA sample from ya while you were out and I think that's what's got them all riled up, to be honest. Oh Lucy you got a lotta 'splainin to do!" That last was in a really horrible and exaggerated Ricky Ricardo impression.

As soon as dude had his signature, he was walking away and pulling up his Uber app... then she caught a whiff of a really... really... good smell.

"Ah, my dear. You're going to drive this truck right into the ocean for me." And damnit, not again! Cept this time it wasn't the English dude or a giant gorilla... No, she had to become Faye Wray to this ugly sucker... She wasn't fully under his control yet but somehow this guy was soo sexy, she just had to impress him. It was that awesome cologne...

[[ OOC - Cloud has enough presence of mind left to realize if she blocks the smell somehow she'll probably be okay, but don't worry you have a hole card, or hole Rat nearby as it were, in Tepes ]]

If there was anything that Tepes was thinking, it was a single phrase.

Finally.

Shifting back quietly, he stepped out of the shadows and with the ease of a man who shot fast for a living, fired off two shots. The necromatic bullets of Baskerville perhaps the best weapon for a case like this as he aimed for the center of mass, around the chest or arms. He wasn't particular.

All he knew was that he had been led on a very, merry chase and now that he had a figure to work off some frustration, he was damn near gonna take it.

"Y'ain't her type."

The Mandrill was fast too - but not quite fast enough as he was grazed in the arm and hit in the shoulder before he managed to snake one arm around Cloud, his hand on her neck. "Try that again and I'll throw you her head." Though the words didn't quite seem to have enough weight, considering he was gasping and it sounded like the words of a drunk that was trying to insist that he was fine. Baskerville had done its work, but hadn't finished the job.

Jason smirked and crossed his arms. "Well, I would go into detail about my tragic backstory and such but..." He yawned. "...It's too much effort. Plus, you wouldn't be interested anyways."

Hercules

Having seen stranger, Hercules boards the boat driven by the strange duck. With the assumption that with Herc aboard, the boat indeed makes its way towards the giant Rubber duck. He takes a picture with his phone and sends it to Cardiff with the following text....

"" Checking out giant rubber duck near docks. Too much of a coincidence. Keeping track of our people ? Will keep you appraised. OUT.

" So captain Duck, you ever seen the like of this before ? For that matter, what brings you out here to investigate it ? "

"Me? I heard there was a giant duck in the water near here so I just came over from Catalina. I'm on vacation, dude. That is a marvelously big duck though." He squints a little and cocks his head. "It's weighted down with something. I mean it has to be or it would be bouncing all over the place but the bottom, eh, looks like air tanks or something"

Science was feeling good in my hands. It had a long time since actually doing anything on this level, and felt infinitely long since I had done something on that level other than curing myself. Newer technology that what I was used to made things feel easy and quick, as did the other doctor who seemed to understand me easily. This was one of the benefits of this new world, a place and an opportunity to practice my chosen profession to it's fullest. Unknown to me, I was adjusting to the other doctor as well. It gave me a pause when I finished his thought for him. That was disturbing, but I dismissed it and continued to enjoy myself.

I almost regretted completing the job, as Skivorsky explained his method for extraction and handed me his theorem. I was happy to see that this part was still on paper. I wasn't ready to think about the new names he had given me, especially as I was handling the theorem. I looked at it a while to read and and longer just to enjoy it.

"Leonard, thank you for this. I enjoyed every minute of it. I'd like to show you something I worked on for a gamma transponder in the Joshua Lambert research institute...where I found out that I had been Thor's teacher, now that I think about it.

"You see, if you consider that matter, no matter how solid, is still mostly empty space then you can reconsider the role of the atomic mass. So, like the Hulk, it's not really a matter of one thing passes through another as much as things naturally reconfiguring themselves once they are out. So, a smaller amount of energy is needed if you change"

I started rewriting his theorem as it was, adding replacements in some places until I had come to the end.

Lucifer silently watched the duo of scientists talk. It wasn't like he had anything to add to the conversation. He wasn't manipulating anyone and to be honest, the man was getting quite bored here. But he was going to stick with his partner for now.

Hercules

" Air tanks you say ? Now, technically there could me nearly anything in these tanks right ? Say for instance, if there is a large supply of concoction A that is all set to have a reaction to mystery concoction B.... In those tanks... could be concoction B....."

I reach for my phone, only to remember the shield communicator. I contact Banner and tie in Cardiff.

"Dr Banner, I've not yet finished my investigation of the giant Duck yet, but we've discovered something...
Large tanks under the duck.... Can you think of any reason why they might store some sort of chemical, to react with the energy drink in the ocean ? Cardiff, you can check with captain fake coroner too if you have access to him, show him the chemical formula if you think he can comprehend. Let me know right away if anyone comes up with anything. Hercules out..."

One of the other ECSI team members... kind of skipped? Over to Lucifer. "Hey, aren't you that guy who owns that fancy nightclub in NoHo? Think I could drop by and you could show me the VIP treatment one night?" She asked, then stuck her hand out.

"Sorry, didn't introduce myself. Abby. Abby Scuito. ECSI. See? Says right here on the badge." Abby actually showed the badge to him.

Jason sighed and let out a yawn. "Alright, I think I've been sittin' in your little cage long enough. Can I like, speak to a lawyer or get a phone call? Or do I have to wait here until your little welcome party shows up?"

"So now he wants a lawyer. Okay. I'll go tell the SHIELD guys." In a rush of air, he was alone in the room, the door slamming shut and the window darkening so he couldn't see out.

...twenty minutes later...

A speaker crackles then kicks in, and a female voice comes over it.

"See... we're having a little problem here. Miranda rights are for US Citizens, and more importantly, alive ones. The name you've given us is false, and we have no way of verifying your citizenship. That means we get to fall back on the Patriot Act. So, give us anything we can verify, a social security number that checks out would be nice, and we'll go forward with the treatment a US citizen would get. Until then... well, you're about as eligible for a lawyer of a phone call as an ISIS member. Good night. We'll let you think this over until the morning, and see if you're more cooperative."

Then the lights go out.
