    • Name: Agrona
      Age: 27
      Sex: Male
      Birthplace: Divona Cadurcorum
      Species: Demi-God
Father: Pluto, God of the underworld.
      Appearance:
Due to his Gaelic heritage Agrona developed the features of his people, stout, rigid, and blonde hair being the signature aspect of his appearance. His life as a slave influenced his appearance greatly, mostly an increase of bodily scars.

      Height: 5'11
      Weight: 243 lbs
      Eye: Green
      Hair: Blonde
(I feel that a personality should be revealed through IC)

Biography: Agrona was born late into the Gallic wars. His Grandfather was Lucterius, leader of the Carduci and a loyal friend of Vercingetorix. Lucterius took it upon himself to raise Agrona due to the absence of a biological father. Although still a child Agrona accompanied his grandfather throughout the Gallic wars. There he learned first hand of his people's history and art of warfare, in turn he developed a deep seeded hatred for roman culture. It was not until later in life when he learned the truth of his conception, giving him a greater reason to hate the Roman Gods.

After Vercingetorix surrendered to Julius Caesar most of the Arverni tribes bent the knee, save for a few like the Carduci. Lucterius continued to fight the Romans and lead ambushes until a defeat forced him to flee. In search of refuge Lucterius fled to the Arverni, who in turn betrayed him. Both Agrona and Lucterius were handed over to the Romans. Agrona was separated from his grandfather and his fate was left a mystery to him.

Once in Roman hands Agrona was sold into slavery, where he truly learned the meaning of cruelty. Due to his abnormal size, even as a youth, Agrona was purchased by a Roman land owner who had a flare for training gladiators. Agronawas still a child, but even then his Dominus forced him into a life of strenuous training. Agrona dedicated himself to his training; seeing as he had little other choice. The training was harsh but through difficulties, champions are born. Agrona prayed to his Celtic Gods for help, but no reply was ever returned. Eventually Agrona abandoned his old beliefs as they had abandoned him.

After several years, and several victories, Agrona grew into a man leaving a trail of corpses as the years progressed. His training had been a process; like a scultpor molding clay. All of his weaknesses and poor habits were stripped away, leaving only perfection. Agrona had lost all he had, yet he took comfort and even pride in himself as the crowds cheered his name. He reveled in it, the merciless slaughter of all he faced. Eventually Agrona had won his Dominus enough gold to earn his favor. This new found favor came with new found rewards. Agrona was rewarded, wine, woman, and all the desires a man could want. No longer did he wish to flee his captors and return to his homeland.

Eventually the good times had to end. As Agrona won more favor and renown, the closer he came to his freedom. The thought had not crossed his mind in years, not until the day his Dominus released him and proclaimed him a free man. Agrona was tempted to sell himself back into slavery, just so he could fight once again, but something called to him. There was an entire world out there and it beckoned him. Though a man needs to earn a wage, and having no other skills, Agrona adapted to the life as a mercenary.

    • Traits: (You will end up with FIVE traits in this section. ONE will be the mandatory trait found under the species tab, FOUR will be chosen from the traits section, one of which must be species-specific.)

      • Divine Infighting- While your parent god might have your best interest at heart, despite being too busy to intercede most of the time, gods who are rivals of your parent will be more inclined to take out their grudge on you, putting you at risk of smitings, or at the very least, unlucky encounters.
      • Divine Favor: You’ve prayed and prayed to your parent for a little extra help and inherited an ability related to your parent’s domain as a god. It was no choice of your own, it just kinda… happened, but you’ve managed to make it work over years of practice. (GM will generate a useful and relevant power for you based on your parent.)
      • Gladiator: Not a trained soldier, you are either a criminal or a slave, and you have weathered several grueling battles for the sake of the crowd. Gladiators use rather unusual weapons: short swords, tridents, hammers, maces and nets, and your grit and determination to survive make up for your lack of fighting finesse.
      • Soldier: Having served in the military, you are quite fit, used to the pressures of the battlefield, and able to handle swords, spears, and bows with fair proficiency, never growing more accustomed to one over the other. You’re a jack of all trades in combat.
      • Bowman: While in the military, your eagle eye got you assigned to defense with the archers. You are perceptive and steady, better with ranged combat than melee. (You must first take Soldier in order to access this specialty.)

Custom: Pull of the Underworld: With each kill Agrona becomes refreshed and revitalized. Where most men tire and start to wain, Agrona continues to effortlessly fight as he sends one foe after the next to his Father.
      • Equipment:
      • Great Sword: A heavy bulky thing twice as long as it should be. His signiture weapon during his life as a gladiator. Due to the abnormal size of the blade he must wield it with both hands, forcing him to fight without a shield.
      • Longbow: A bow crafted specifically for him, the bow itself he purchased after he earned his freedom. Expensive and unweildy, save for the right man. The bow is a tool Agrona values above all of his belongings. So far, he is the only man he knows of that is strong enough to pull the string back to a full draw.
      • Quality Arrows: Only the highest quality arrows can be used in conjunction with his longbow. Due to its extremely high draw weight, lower quality arrows break apart mid flight, or shatter upon impact.
      • Knives: A quality skinning knife along with two more blades, used solely for fighting.
      • Whetstone: Used in maintaining a edge on all his bladed tools.
      • Coin Pouch: Adeep pocketed coin pouch.
      • Leather & Chainmail: Tucked under his hardened leather armor hides a layer of quality chainmail capable of stopping most blows.
      • Eagle Companion: A large White-tailed eagle serves as his companion. A deep bond between the two has made this eagle protective over its master and will often times fight along side him in battle.
      • Perhaps more if I can think of anything.

So, I take it Agrona has either been mislead to believe that his Father is Nodens rather than Mars? Or is he so devoted to his pagan upbringing that he's deluded himself into thinking that? Both Hellis and I have spoken with Foxxie about Non-roman gods being possible parents of our characters and she's shot the ideas down. It's all but explicitly stated that the Roman pantheon is the only one around, barring surprise Lovecraftian involvement.

Hello! Question: Would homunculi be an acceptable race in this RP?

Actually. Other gods may be present, as told by our GM. But not for players to be children of. Hence why Sobeks chosen gets crocodile like traits :D

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Rudiarius is a gladiator that has earned their freedom, but they decide to continue to fight in the games as they wish as a freed person.

oh. Yeah. I actually had an idea to play as a character such as that originally. You probably could.

Thanks for those edits, @Sammael9216. I'll be looking at your character with a closer lens now and whipping up a Divine Favor and the likes.

@IceChateau777, I hope you're still thinking of joining up. I'll let a few more people in.

@MonarchFrost, homunculus? As in miniature or, at the very least, artificial humans? At this time, I'm hoping to keep the races/species kind of close to what I have provided, in order for traits to work out properly. Perhaps if you PM me, we could work something out.

@Aeronfarron, your character idea sounds absolutely fine by me.

Most definitely, but I have to get this research paper done.

Name: Bellatrix Achillia Romella

Age: 25

Sex: Female

Birthplace: Scupi

Species: Infelix

Appearance:
8dad374ff183d7efa1467ee9d3f2aabb.jpg

Standing at a full height of 6'4", Achillia is surprisingly lanky for an Infelix. Her muscles aren't exactly bulging hunks of meat, but are more like sculpted, coiled wires of iron beneath a layer of fat: a combination of her gladiator diet and Infelix regeneration. Bronzed skin, hazel-green eyes and messy flaming red hair lends her a somewhat exotic look. With her body language quite open and back straightened, she uses her personality to intimidate, not only physical appearance.

Biography:

Born as Bellatrix Romella, Achillia was always a rambunctious child. The first child, of seven, Achillia enjoyed the perks of her blood all throughout her childhood. Her branch of the Romulus legacy believed they were the descendants of the first born of Romulus' sons, largely due to the surprising strength of all firstborn children in their lineage. These children were often considered the next head of their respective families, regardless of gender, when their alpha parent died. Unless, of course, the alpha was challenged by one of their younger siblings and loses.

Achillia's family line loved the violence they could bring, and were well known as soldiers and hired muscle. The pups (as they were called) learned weapon arts from their parents at a young age, and trained often with weapons as well as with their claws and fangs daily.

Before Achillia's tenth summer, she and her siblings visited their cousins while their parents were off fighting. Her uncle fraudulently sold her and two of her brothers to a slaver after he was unable to pay back the money he lost on bets and drink. The young Infelix fought tooth and claw to save her siblings until she was overpowered by three men, collared, and dragged off.

She was sold off to a noble's wife in Novum Comum to act as her daughter's handmaiden. She stayed for less than three months when the woman persuaded her husband to open and sponsor a ludis. The woman was convinced that she'd make more money than she had been bought for, once she saw the girl viciously kill assassins that had been sent after her young mistress. The nobleman agreed, bought out a failing ludis, and brought in veterans as well as other fresh slaves to participate in the games, in addition to Achillia. Her young mistress allowed the young slave to be parted from her, but only if she had a proper name, as she did not have one at purchase (Achillia refused to confirm her name). The noblewoman allowed it, and registered the slave under the name of Achillia.

She spent a few years training alongside the slaves, under the watchful eye of the Games' veterans. She began as a Bestiarius, until she managed to fight her way through the ranks until she was a fully fledged Gladiatrix. Soon, she lost herself in the carnage and killing, and often forgot that she was a slave. As time passed, it became less of a job that she was forced to do; it morphed into a job she loved to do. She saw herself not as a slave, but a warrior, a sanctioned executioner.

By the time of her nineteenth summer, she was a veteran of the sands herself, well known around the city, and had secured enough coin to secure her freedom two times over. Her lanista, however, gifted her with her freedom, when she defeated his rival's prized gladiator in a fight to the death over their masters' estates. The gift had been unexpected, as she'd gotten comfortable and resigned herself--and her loyalty--to her master.

In spite of being free, she continued to fight in the games on behalf of her ex-owners'--now patrons'--ludis, and taught a new batch of gladiatorial slaves there. They, of course, paid her for well for her services and expertise and furnished a new room in the ludis for her to live in. They showered her with good money, good food, and better equipment. They knew that she could leave whenever she wanted and could find work at almost any ludis. She let them, since after a while she gave up trying to refuse the gifts.

Achillia, now in her seventh year of freedom, has acquired quite a lot of money. She continues to fight on the sands for her patrons, long addicted to the feel of iron against her skin and the roar of the crowd in her ears. It is only her nightly transformations that allow her to remember her lost parents' and siblings' faces. She travels every once in a while to Remanus Proper to visit her ex-mistress and her husband, a Senator.

Mandatory Trait:
Bloodlust- While in battle, there is a chance that you might berserk, losing all common sense and becoming killing machines with no sense of teamwork. In this state, you become an amazing weapon, but it would be suicide for your teammates to try to plan around this unpredictable state.

Infelix:

Lumbering: You strike an imposing figure, standing taller and broader than most, with the strength to back it up. Whether in your human or beast form, you can throw a punch harder and carry a heavier load than those around you.

Regenerative: You have the ability to heal cuts and even slightly deeper surface wounds if you focus hard enough on the restorative process. Greater injuries do also heal slightly faster for you, but you don’t have conscious control over that.

Claws and Jaws: The claws you’ve been cursed with are actually quite strong, and capable of tearing through all sorts of things, including leather armor. The huge, wolflike teeth are just as strong, able to dent metal and tear limbs, if given the chance.

General:
Gladiator: Not a trained soldier, you are either a criminal or a slave, and you have weathered several grueling battles for the sake of the crowd. Gladiators use rather unusual weapons: short swords, tridents, hammers, maces and nets, and your grit and determination to survive make up for your lack of fighting finesse.

Custom:
Blood of the Alpha: Achillia is surprisingly confident and charismatic for an ex-enslaved Infelix. This manifests biologically as well as mentally: she hits that much harder, she moves that much faster, and she stands that much straighter. She is a werebeast, and she revels in that knowledge as well as in her strength. She is Alpha, and she will make sure that every opponent knows it.

Equipment:

Weapons:

Standard Hoplon
Trident (6'5" in length)
Cestus
Semispathae (18" double edged Spatha)

Armor:
Galae: full faced, Corinthian-styled helmet made of iron and bronze
Spongia: Small breastplate made of iron with a leather under layer, protects only the chest, not the torso.
Gladitorial Cingulum: A wide leather belt and skirt to protect the waist area.
Greaves: Shin armor made of iron.

Other:
Coinpurse
Soccus: laced, open toed sandals worn outside of the arena.
Linen Tunic: Worn when out of armor.
Bag of dried fruits and nuts.
A simple silver necklace, a gift from her closest friend and the first thing she owned as a free woman.
