Location: The very edge of the Crowlithe sector, a contested part of space being fought over by the Terran Imperium (a human led empire) and "The True Reign", a coalition of alien species that seeks to keep other galactic powers out. Specifically, the rp starts at Wayfarers Star, a space station that caters to trade.

Basic Plot: Kal Artil, owner and pilot of the heavily modified ship,Ellipsis, has been contacted by a prospective employer (filled) who wishes to contract the services of the fast, heavily armed and armored freighter, for a job that they specialize in. Namely, this involves transporting cargo (of quite literally any kind, legal or not) into areas of heavily contested space. Kal has docked at the station to meet the employer in a small bar on the fifth level, along with the "cargo". Which turns out to be a pair of Celestrians. The employer wishes to transport these two to a certain location, wherethey can be sold. [Two other characters are needed, but the options are rather open. Suggestion include crew members of the Ellipsis, oreven a hitchhiker or stowaway. Other ideas are welcome, so long as they fit in the basic framework]

History:

Celestians (by humans)
Cgulcequms (by themselves) (translates to The Star's own)
Physical Traits:
-fiery hair which can be any color and is in fact is only a little warm to the touch. It is manly to scare away larger species and beings. This is where they get their name.
- small statures. Average height of only 4'7". The high gravity of their planet resisted them from growing very large.
-very fair skin which glows under their hair and their all around beauty which is very similar to that of humans.
Other Distinctive Traits:
-high intelligence
-longevity
-Hydrogen based life forms
History:
When first discovered it was the early colonization of newly discovered planets by humans. The power hungry humans almost completely erradicate the species seeing their high intellect as a threat then they realized they could use then as slaves of all types instead. Thus, began the trade and high value of the race.

Kal Altir: (Jad)
Age: 26
Species: Human (Male)
Appearance:
Height: 7'2" (218cm)
Looks: Apart from his very large stature, Kal fits typical human looks. He has relatively short brown hair, and sports a beard. He has blue eyes, that are usually hidden behind a pair of dark sunglasses. A variety of tattoos cover his forearms. His skin is white. Physically he is a good deal stronger than expected from a human.
Clothing: While he dresses to match the occasion, Kal's usual clothing consists of any of a variety of t-shirts and a pair of vaguely military style pants fastened with a simple black belt. His boots are gray and utilitarian. When on duty or expecting trouble, he also adds a set of light armor plates over his usual clothes that protect his shoulders, chest, and knees, as well as holding munitions and equipment. Ever present is his signature baseball cap, embellished with a skull and crossbones.
Personality:
Kal is a rather quick witted man, who is not afraid to take big risks, provided that someone else is paying well for it. Always looking to make good pay, he accepts jobs from whomever has the dough regardless of the legality of his efforts. He is fiercely protective of both his ship and his crew, and is not reluctant to use force to defend either. A bit of a jokester, he has a good sense of humor which comes to light at odd times. He has little respect for authority, and believes in looking out for himself and his crew above all. Not one to pass judgement on clients or acquaintances alike, he prefers to see things for himself.
History:
Kal was born on Rial, a human colony world that was long forgotten by the Terran Imperium. Developing rather independently, it's people have adapted to the high gravity of the planet, growing much taller and stronger than most other humans. It was violently repossessed by the Imperium approximately 75 years ago, and Kal, like many other Rialians, has a distinct dislike of the Imperium government. His parents were both traders, and Kal often traveled with them. An accident at a fueling station left both dead when he was 12. Ownership of the Ellipsis passed to him, but operations were run by a close friend, a former mercenary named Tylas. Tylas raised Kal, and taught him the ropes of running a ship that played both sides of the legal lines. Over the years the two made many modifications to theElipsis, converting it into a very heavily armed and armored fast transport. Upon Kal's twentieth birthday, Tylas officially retired from the business, leaving Kal as the sole owner of the Ellipsis. Since then he has continued to ply his trade, travelling across the galaxy and specializing in transport jobs nobody else will take.
Notes: Kal runs an unusual business. Basically he takes cargo of any type or description and gets it into rather...contested areas. Think of it as a bit like an armored car that is available for hire.
Celestrian 1: (Megan)
Helilia
Age:

Developmental compared to humans: about 23
Year: 913
Species: Celestirans
Appearance:
Height: 4'6"
Looks: Normal characteristics of her kind with glowing fiery orange irises. She wears whatever she can at the time.
Personality:
Outer Layer: Helilia can have a very wise edge to her. She had seen many things over her years. She comes off as tired out and wore down from all the things she has been through. She does not speak a whole lot unless spoken to. She is very easy going and laid back.
Inner Layers: Helilia can be fun and energetic when she is given a reason. Her mind is still in the developmental stages of that of a 23 year old human female. She is very intelligent and would love to talk about anything about the composition of planets to the composition of governments. She really enjoys to pick apart and really think about what things are really made of. She has a really big heart and has suffered a great deal over the years because of it. It seems she has locked away a good deal of herself.

Celestrian Two: (Dip)

Sh'Lquomn G'hzomz-Tek
Nickname: Solomon Gomez
Age
Age in Human Years: Roughly 26
Age in Celestrian Years: 1146
Species
Celestrian/*Giluionian Hybrid
*Giluionians are simply the closest things to Celestrians in modern time, minus a few characteristics. Things that really bring out the Giluionian trait in Solomon is his digitigrade legs, that seem to work much like a bird's leg does. Atop his avian-like legs is a medium length tail, that has an abundance of wayward hairs near the end of it's length, reminiscent of the hair on his head. The last trait is a simple case of severe blindness, that leaves his eyes to be nearly twice the size of a normal Celestrian. He wears large-framed glasses to try and help his worsening eye-sight, and can sometimes be seen pulling out a pair to simply read.
Appearance
Height: 5'3"
Looks: Besides the Giluionian genes from his fathers side, he is an average Celestrian male. He has flame-red hair that curls in all different directions, but is curiously shaved off of one entire half of his head. Stubble is simply found there, now. The fair glowing skin he possesses pulsates a beautiful orange color occasionally. His eyes, though quite large and alien-like, possess the orange faintness, as well.
Gender: Male
Clothing: He stands pathetically in a pair of stolen black boots, that reach a little above his calf, but fold over uselessly due to his legs. Solomon wears a pair of ripped, rolled-over, oil-stained, worn jeans, and it appears to be the only pair he possesses. He keeps them up with a black belt, and further upward yet is a simple white tank-top (also oil-streaked and dirty). He layers on a black pilots jacket (he stole it along with the boots-- gotta have a matching set, right?) with the sleeves rolled up part way. It buttons up, with a collar that stands out, but he currently keeps it unbuttoned. He carries the pilot's black hat in his back-pocket, but took off most of the buttons that the unknown pilot had earned. He is skilled at the art of stealing and replacing clothing, and can be seen changing into whatever he may find, but the pants are without-a-doubt his favorite.
Personality
All Around Personality: He's hard to chew and hard to swallow, that's for sure. For years he has been escaping slavery and slavery again, and is wanted in many parts of the region for rioting and anarchism. He is a free thinker, and good at thinking, too. He is sharp as a double-bladed knife, and can get out of any situation. But as wise as he is, he is also a little quick to judge. He wants no part in friendship or love, but if you get on his good side, you have a friend for life. He is protective of what he values, and is willing to fight to the end to protect what little he has.
History:
He was born in a manor that most people would simply call thunderous. From what little family he has, that little group claims that the hammer of the heavens came down and crashed upon the very spot he was born. The reason they say this is because he really wasn't suppose to be born to begin with.
His mother was a pure Celestrian, and his father was pure in his own kind. His father towered over her in more ways than one, and the likely hood of Solomon being born was a gift from the stars itself.
He enjoyed the life he had as shortly as he lived it, and even as he did he was called and outcast and a mutt. But that was nothing compared to what the humans did. They took his mother and sold her for cheap, and his father was forced to leave with what they had and as fast as possible.
It wasn't long after that till his father lost track of his beloved son, and he himself became a wayward vagabond. He spent his hears traveling, hiding, and keeping himself secure and occupied. There is little to be known of him, but he is anything besides seemingly harmless.
Employer: (Yiyel)
Name: Various (see species notes)
Nickname: Commonly called Magellan by humans
Age:
Human: 36
Years: 90
Species: Ruisk
Appearance: Large, humanoid creature with dry, rough skin covered by fur except for an area covering the chest, going up the neck and ending right under the eyes, covering the mouth and cheeks. Outside of the shade of the skins, the hair and the size, the differentiating factors from humans are an unusually flat nose (similar to a camel's if a camel had a flat face), the lack of visible ears and the solid two rows of interlocking, beak-like tooth.
Height: 6'10" (208cm)
Looks: Bulky, solid stature with defined, sleek muscle definition despite the fur (though much less massive than other Ruisks due to upbringing). Carbonsteel-colored eyes. Mars-red fur (trimmed to 2cm length, or three quarters of an inch) with underlying sawdust-colored skin. Thin lips colored like clay.
Clothing: Wears orange overalls made of what looks like a tightly woven fiber (which type of fiber exactly is hard to determine but looks like it could be vegetal) over a baggy yellow coverall while in private, but prefers to do his public dealings in a full-body maroon envirosuit (which, incidentally, makes him look simply like a large humanoid or even a genetically-modified human) equipped with a large "cargo compartment" (which is really just a large backpack made of rigid polymer) and complete with a yellow, frosted glass faceplate (of which the frosted layer can be removed for vision should the suit's power fail - otherwise, two small cameras to either side of the helmet provide visual feed).
Personality:
Outer: Grinning, snarky idiot who hides his wit until needed. Always ready for a laugh, but how quick he can change from being completely serious to being a complete fool and vice versa can be rather confusing if one is not used to Ruisks. Always entirely honest though.
History: Born on a small Ruisk asteroid outpost known as Mirrala to the outside community, Magellan had the upbringing most of his peer had (there isn't much options when your birthplace is only a few thousand strong and renowned to be the place to raise children to become explorers and merchants) - social skills, bartering and "blind" navigation. And so, once he got old enough, he passed the rite of maturity of Mirrala, which was to successfully barter his way to owning a ship (as there is two age ranges on Mirrala - the young ones who haven't reached maturity, and the old navigators who return to found a family), and set off to make his name in the intergalactic community... though he did not expect his name to be known in the dark markets, having hoped at first to make it as a legitimate tradesman. But such is the life of a Ruisk, and the profits are good. Though he realized he'd soon need the services of the Ellipsis...
SPECIES NOTES: Ruisks
Ruisks, socially, are strange creatures - they believe more strongly in the value of face than the value of identity (which was accentuated by slightly sub-par vision, very poor smell beyond three inches from the nose and/or tasting but increased auditory range, frequency bands and perception), and as such no Ruisk is born with a name - merely the sound or word the parents first identify it with, which might change as ages define the individual (such transitions are almost always noted in private to avoid confusion). As his age (and thus social circle) increases, the numbers of sounds and words (and voices associated with them - according to Ruisks, a person is as much the noise it's called with as the voice who calls) increases to staggering numbers, which would leave most other species baffled (maybe with an exception of species with avian properties, as the amount of sounds the Ruisk can differentiate and remember is almost fifty-fold compared to most other species). It gives other species the illusion of quick familiarization and friendship with Ruisks, who almost always call people with a given nickname when recognizing the voice (which can require a single interaction if the Ruisk knows contact with an individual will be frequent

Yo, I'm interested in this. I don't have that much time right now, but if possible I would like to reserve either the Employer or the Celestian. (Not sure which one at the moment).

But yeah, I'd love to be part of this.

sorry, the second spot for the celestrian is taken but you can request being the employer. We will need you to fill out a character sheet soon, but the spot will not just be given out.

Still looking? Would like to play a crew member.

We are indeed looking! Crew are much needed, just fill out a character sheet for them.

((Can you read the Species Description while I work the CS? Its a bit long and I want too see if there any mistakes while im doing my CS))

Name:
Simply referred to as 'Neptune'

Age:
The Asseri are a species of longevity who excel in medicine with emotional therapy of a different tier than what humans can achieve. At this kind of therapy the Asseri have achieved long life than what humans can imagine. Besides their emotional therapy their connection through nature allows their greater understanding of natural medicines combined to create amazing effects that can hold back deadly diseases in this age... however that is just delaying the inevitable as all things must return to the land.

Human Years: 105
Asseri Years: 30

Species:
The Asseri are a species of humanoid who have some sort of resemblance to the figure and details of a human but they are faint as their colorful eyes often ranging of different hues of the rainbow; distract people not from their species, as the species have Heterochromia or the trait of having different colored eyes . Their beliefs and understanding are conveyed through emotions as the species are able to communicate to each other as they are all mute. Having only a unique kind of empathy which allows them to sense the emotions of people around them or focus upon a certain person, however they cannot focus themselves. Thus they are sensitive to emotions from species outside themselves who don't know how to suppress their emotions as well as them. Some rarer cases of certain individuals of the race are know to be Clairempathic who are extremely sensitive to emotions in a large area being able to feel them all.

Their language of emotions is a complex and detailed one of mixture of feelings that provide... indescribable feelings to a person who is outside their species as the emotion this race can create are complex. If a Asseri was to overwhelm an Human for example it wouldn't take a simple conversation between the Asseri before the human would feel their stomach doing knots and his skin tingling with bliss, while also breathing heavily from excitement. The only possible races that could give some sort of conversation to the Asseri are themselves and other races who have similar capacity of emotions as they do. Many other options exist to which other races can communicate to the Asseri however these are the best ways to communicate directly to them.

Besides their Empathy, the Asseri are know to be smarter than humans but however are more sensitive and inclined to react to emotion rather than logic. They also have a special part of their brains which allows them to embody a emotion randomly from birth however, what emotion they can embody can change if something disastrous happens to a Asseri's life. The most common emotion the Asseri can embody is Kindess as their soceity rarely have conflict hence their greater emotional understandings between one another. The emotions that starts to become darker are the ones to start becoming uncommon, as few people in their society have been able to embody such a emotion however in text it says that it has been done before. So their darkest emotion, as well as rarest emotion to embody would be Vengeance as people of the Asseri know no physical way to hurt one another and when someone does learn how... things start to fall apart as people start to join the dark embodiment.

Hence their embodiment to emotion, the Asseri and preform minor feats of the supernatural with just pure belief in their emotion that they embody. The stronger and experienced the holder has on his emotion, the more understanding they know of what his/hers emotion can preform. Those who learn to use their emotion masterfully are considered scholars of that emotion officially even if they don't understand how to teach it their own kind, it a rare feat to achieve mastery in a single emotion. However it has been know that the current emperor of the Asseri has 3 emotions which he carries which are Hope, Happiness, and Terror... However the last emotion has yet to be seen by the people and they hope that its just a rumor.

The Asseri's society is a mixture between nature and eco-friendly technology that combines the two to have less damaging effects onto their home planet. Their specialty involves with medicines and plants as their connect with the land is a unique one. Being able to understand the plant's emotions allows the Asseri to comply to nature's wishes and in return grants them better harvest.

Appearance:
Height:
5'11

Looks:
Neptunes's eyes are two hues between the colors red and blue, being a dark purple accompanied by a dark green eye.

Clothing:
Neptune's clothing are fairly simple as the Asseri aren't much into clothing as some other races are, but Neptune doesn't mind looking nice every once in a while, as he wears a long-sleeved white shirt that had a slight v-neck but nothing too irrational. Ontop of the white long-sleeve he wears a lightbrown wool blazer, with three black buttons the center one being buttoned in. Over the blazer a strange coat that fits upon his slim frame, from what it looks like it appears to be a pea coat, open and unbuttoned showing the blazer and the white shirt underneath. Accompany that were an charcoal scarf wrapped around his neck with a black beanie. At this rate Neptune might as well be disguised as a human...

Personality:
In General~
Neptune is usually a pleasant person to be around despite him being a silent companion, he shows true interest in his crewmates stories that they tell about themselves or something else. He always enjoys listening to them and finds it amusing of the tales that the crewmates tell. Despite his age and maturity of what would be a grown Asseri, Neptune is quite childish and comical about himself joking to his crew with gestures and other type of communication. Although being the nice companion that he is, he also likes to be alone to read books and be lost in another world, something that he is good at. Imagining things and doodling are his two favorite thing to do while on the ship to past time and often explore any other interesting hobbies that might interest him.

However he isn't always this passive, as sometimes a strange wave of emotions flood over him making him sometimes pace around seriously, or stay in bed depressed; whatever it is his crewmates understand that him being a Asseri is hard on this kind of job, and accept it, hoping he doesn't get worse...

History:
Neptune when born into his family, knew that he was different. The emotions that he read off his family were surprise, why? He asked himself trying to see what they saw in him but he couldn't no Asseri could see what emotion they embodied themselves. So he went through life not knowing what his embodiment would be until 5 Asseri years latter, where he learned from a friend that the emotion that he had was Fear but at the same time glowed with Hope. This shocked Neptune that he had embodied not only two emotions but Fear as well... He felt weird at the fact that he was given two interesting emotions as the two nearly countered each other, since if there is fear there is no hope but with hope there is no fear... so he himself was like a double-edged sword.

When he came of age to start having these Mood Swings like the rest of his family, instead of bursting into jolly or happiness, he was depressed in his room envious what cheerfulness that his family had wishing he could too join but knew he couldn't in this state. He knew he couldn't do nothing to help himself and cried...

When he reached 6 Asseri years, Neptune had finish schooling for himself as it was customary for the Asseri to be in school for 6 Asseri Years before leaving to go study in another school for the job they had in mind. Neptune had training in the medical field and learned the gruesome work of doctors in space who sometimes lacked supplies and had to do drastic things to keep their patients alive even if they didnt want to live. However he didn't mind as it was for one a chance to escape this planet, his own homeplanet to somewhere he wouldn't be reminded so much about this life... And so when his 8th Asseri year came, he finished school for being a doctor and left his home.

He had a pleasant life for the next 2 Asseri years where he learned many different people emotions and complex way of communication and gestures to go along with it, and because his inability to speak he mimicked the gesture cutely. But his life in peace from his somewhat dormant emotions ended as waves of pain came at him, his emotions being suppressed for too long as it bashed agaisnt Neptune's mind. It had taken him several days of recovery when he finally decided to grab the help of the black market and some connects he had as a doctor he got something he needed at a nice price as well...

After getting the necklace he fells confused as if another emotion was forcefully thrown into him, as it was most likely the necklace doing its work but he felt terrible as he felt out of place. He felt... as if he had greater control over his emotions. The strangest thing he ever felt but he constant had a feeling gnawing at his stomach but he couldn't figure out why... Several days latter he discovered he had Apathy... a state of a emotion that doesn't exist yet does. It was confusing as he wondered why it hadn't consumed him but figured out why... it had spent most of its energy to stabilize his emotional state, before leaving a small part of itself to regenerate allowing the host to use it on himself if the problem ever arise again... smart. But all that matters now is that he can at least have some control of his life... but it was never like the same, whenever he didn't want to be feeling the emotions around him they stopped as if there was no one there but it was a lie... wasn't it? So to dispel his uncertainty he conducted some test to see and discovered he can put up shields to block off emotions from others with some concentration it would work and what he could feel from them would be duller.

(The Thing Neptune had bought from the black market is a certain kind of article of clothing which can be customized into many things, with today's technology disguises are abundant even for unwanted machinery. Underneath all Neptunes clothes lies a silver necklace which helps suppresses his emotion for the time being until he can control it. However with Neptune being a Asseri he absorbed the emotion of the necklace gain the emotion Apathy...)

(Asseri can preform minor feats by using his emotions but he doesn't like using them except for healing his patients and that when they really need to. But another ability that Asseri has gained from the necklace that he had gotten gave him the power of Apathy, allowing him to block off his or other people's emotions. )

It certainly is a very emotion-centric species. But I do question how such an empathetic being would end up crewing a freighter that expressly operates in areas of suffering and conflict. Seems like it would be an occupation that would drive them insane, or at least make them extremely depressed.

I plan for my character to overcome this by being an Embodiment of Hope... a pretty hard thing to do but I might have to throw in another emotion to help my character fit in with all this negativity around him. Plus Depression is an emotion which gives me an idea...

((Besides the heavy thing about the emotional thing...))

Can you tell me if you think the Species is nice enough to be accepted? After the emotional situation is solved, of course.

Ok. What position would they be filling on the crew?

WanderingSpirit, your character reminds me of a mix between an Anime high school student and Mass Effect's Asari. It's amazing.

@Jad the Wanderer (Probably the Doctor/Medic of the team most likely if it hasn't been taken)

@WanderingSpirit Not only is it close-named - but the Asari also have strong empathic abilities through touch, live about a thousand years, are close to humanoid, are emotional, widely considered as smarter than humans, have an ecological side AND can do fates of the surnatural (Through other means, as they have a certain type of matter within themselves, but still). The biggest differences are that their eyes are normal, they're blue and have crests of malleable cartilage instead of hair.

@WanderingSpirit That sounds like a perfect role for the character, though we may end up with a small enough crew that adittional duties may fall on Neptune's shoulders. Sound alright?
