    Getsu City/Bishoujo City, Getsu

Getsu City, also known as Bishoujo city, is a large city on Getsu Island. It is one of the largest islands in the world. Being that it is in the North Pacific Ocean, the dominant culture on this island is Japanese, with a slight American influence in the fashion sense and food culture, and a higher population of foreigners than Japan. On first glance it looks like a calmer version of Tokyo and New York City, but it's much more spacious. It is also the home of the Elite Magical Girl Academy, which is hidden away on the outskirts of Getsu City.

The farther you go out from Getsu City, the more green you'll begin to see. There are plenty of farms, villages, and beautiful beaches once you leave Getsu City. Unfortunately, the countryside can be even more dangerous than the city, with Youma hiding in the surrounding forests and often attacking small villages freely. It is where ancient, rare Youma are said to hide.

    On Campus Locations

  • Posting Rules
    1. When posting, use your character's name as a header and their location.
    2. During battles, do not autohit NPCs. This includes Youma and Magical Girl.
    3. No metagaming or Godmodding, at all. If you have permission to do so from the Player, then this is fine.
    4. No collaborative posts, unless two characters are on a date , or something similar and there is no risk of another being around.
    5. If you are inactive without word for two weeks, then you will be dropped and your character will be taken control of by me. Posting IC means you agree to this rule.
    6. No sex scenes within the IC thread. And definitely no sex scenes with people not in your age range.
    7. Intermediate writing standards are expected in this rp, and I will accept no less than a paragraph(5-7 sentences) for IC posts.

    Combat Rules
    1. No Auto-hitting or taking control of a Youma. This is mainly for plot purposes. If you were to take control of one of the enemies this may be interrupt plots or ideas we have in mind. Also to keep the fights balanced and to make sure everyone gets their fair share of butt-kicking from the Youma. You are welcome to direct a hit at a Youma, but do not say the attack has landed, until the person controlling the Youma acknowledges it as fact. Youma Players reserve the right to say a Youma's attack has landed on a character, to kidnap players, or anything else that enemy characters may do. This is, again, for plot purposes. Rest assured we won't ever inflict fatal wounds on your character without your consent, and if we plan to
kidnap or do anything similar to your character we may inform you first depending.

    2. Be reasonable. If your character has already used a couple of attacks that require a decent amount of power or more advanced utility skills it will show. Their energy is not infinite. I'm going to give people freedom to pick their skills and attempt to dodge/evade/attack, but ultimately whether something affects the Youma is up to
the Youma player to keep things fun, fresh, and fair.

    3. The first time you use one of your character's spells, please provide a description of what it does in your post, or include it in a spoiler tag. This will make things easier on everyone, especially the Youma players.

Carmen
Mint Team-Mission 1

The woods were darker than Carmen expected. Oh, how she wished for light powers or something similar! Sure, her vibration-sensing powers would keep her from being surprised, but she would still like to see where the hell she was going.

"Earth Princess, Rock On!" In seconds, Carmen had transformed. She'd never lacked for confidence, but her magical girl form seemed to come with an extra dose of get-up-and-go, almost like flipping a switch. "Not sure if we can do anything about the deafness spell. We're going to need to stay close together and keep our wits about us. If you see something, tap your neighbor on the shoulder to get their attention." She casually shifted her hammer onto her shoulder, gazing at what little she could see, but nothing jumped out at her.

Charee Moreau as La Voisin - Pink Group - Orchards>Abandoned Hospital

"See? Perfectly safe."

Despite the slight shudder in balance Papyra's paper plane looked utterly elegant. There was something about the delicate folding of origami which made it seem the height of grace to La Voisin, even when it was caught off-balance by the wind. Not La Voisin's own style for sure, but certainly admirable; the same couldn't be said for a certain someone else, however...

"You see. Lady Winter is always prepared, my loves. Try to keep up, ladies."

Such arrogance was neither cute or sophisticated- it was pure ugly. To have an exaggerated sense of yourself was one (acceptable) thing, but to take it to the extent where you looked down upon others pissed La Voisin off. How anyone ever found that sort of haughty attitude attractive was a mystery to La Voisin. Another mystery was why the heck she had to be put in a group with Lady Winter of all people; was someone trying to spite La Voisin by putting her in a group with the literal embodiment of the season she loathed? At this rate La Voisin was going to have to bring a coat on missions, because the cold sure bothered her anyway. No, really La Voisin ought to teach that girl a lesson by-

La Voisin cut that thought process off. This always happened after transforming. La Voisin wasn't entirely sure why, there were a few possible reasons: the fact La Voisin didn't feel the need to play innocent, the transformation might somehow emotionally wear her out, or a reflection of La Voisin's poison powers in her personality. Whatever the reason this was going to stop, it wouldn't achieve La Voisin's goal of redemption. Looking over to Papyra and Crimson Moon she focused on the invitation to ride the paper plane instead.

"No, I don't have my own way," La Voisin informed them, "I'm rather excited to ride this gorgeous looking plane though!"

Face beaming, La Voisin hopped aboard the paper plane. It seemed a bit wobbly, but La Voisin was confident she could keep her balance- she didn't practice gymnastics for nothing. After taking a steady stance La Voisin nodded to indicate she was ready for lift off.

Cordiculya – Purple Team – Courtyard

Cordiculya felt her expression twitch, and despite her efforts a childish pout tried to force its way onto her features. Coughing in an effort to dispel the look, Cordiculya snapped around to face Kano with a grin that didn't quite meet her eyes.

"H-haha, it's actually Cordiculya, my dear. Cord-ik-ul-ya. C-Cordelia isn't right at all." The magical girl maintained her shaky smile, even as she tried to get a read on Kano's intentions.

Had…had the other girl just made an honest mistake, or was she purposely trying to rile? Was Kano the type to do either of those things? Was this all some of kind of elaborate plan to make Cordiculya lose her cool, to make her seem like a less than capable leader!?

"A-Ahem." The transformed magical girl shifted in her seat, finally averting her gaze. She should probably avoid imaging insubordination where none existed. "To answer your question, yes, they will be carrying us. They might be made of stone, but give them a few kilometres to be build up some speed, and these stalwart darlings will be moving at a considerable pace."

To demonstrate, Cordiculya had her three 'seat' knights perform two laps of running around the courtyard, their princess still sat within their arms. The knights moved with an uncanny, mechanical gait. Three humans running so closely together would have gotten tangled up in each other, but not once did the knights so much as miss a step (though it probably helped that their bodies were moving in ways that were literally impossible for human beings). And while it was a gradual thing, it was clear that the stone beings were indeed starting to build speed as they went.

The three knights came to a slamming halt when Cordiculya raised a hand daintily, her expression serene even as her knights pitched their entire upper bodies back to insure that she wouldn't be thrown forward at their sudden stop.

"So, as you can see, there is nothing to be concerned about." Cordiculya announced as her transporting knights lowered themselves, the girl dismounting her seat in the same motion. "Even with the added weight, I predict that we'll be well within time with only slight turbulence." After a moment of thought, she added, "Assuming I'm sitting on top, of course. For steering purposes, you understand."

Kokuyo Kano - Courtyard
Kano glanced back at Cordiculya and frowned. The name wasn't something that rolled off the tongue, and the brunette wasn't going to trouble herself with trying to pronounce it correctly. So she was just going to call the girl whatever name popped into her head that somewhat related to Cordiculya's name. Maybe to annoy the girl, mostly just because she didn't want to try and make sure her pronunciation of Cordiculya was correct.

"Sorry, Princess Courtney." Kano had been a bit impressed with how the stone knights moved, but she still wasn't ecstatic about having to be carried. Although it seemed she wouldn't have much of a choice if the team was going to try traveling together to the best of their abilities. She kept her arms folded and rolled her eyes before walk to one of the knights. "You can be on top, I'm going to ride on their back."

Before Cordiculya had the chance to answer, Kano was already climbing up onto one of the knight's backs and wrapping her arms tightly around its neck. As soon as everyone was ready, the knights started moving in the direction of the mountains. It didn't take too much for the knights to start picking up speed and soon things started to blur past as the moved faster. Before Kano knew it, they were out of the city and passing through the forest before reaching the mountain trail that led up to the village. In whole, the trip took about an hour and a half.

When they arrived at the village, there were a few people out and about, but it didn't look like anyone was in the mood to talk and the people seemed a bit cautious as the girls arrived. Kano let go of the knight and grunted softly as her feet hit the ground. She looked around as she holstered her saber back at her left hip. There was supposed to be someone that informed them more bout the Youma that had been terrorizing them.

"I wonder where the chief of the village is."

Miyuki Aozora/Papyra
Orchards ---> Abandoned Hospital

Papyra smiled brightly when Crimson Moon praised her. The clap on the shoulder earned her silver-haired teammate a brief side-glare from Papyra, but Papyra didn't spend much time being bothered by it. Her attention was soon on La Voisin and Lady Winter, who were still grounded below them, with Lady Winter being the more vocal of the two. Of course, Lady Winter would be too good to ride a simple paper plane. Papyra wouldn't be sour about it, but the urge to roll her eyes at the figure skating magical girl was strong. She couldn't roll her eyes at ice-surfing though, could she?

Papyra decided that it was best they not let Lady Winter get too much of a head start to the mission location. Thankfully, La Voisin was already on board and ready to go.

"Hold on to something, ladies," Papyra instructed. The paper plane took off not even a second after she warned the girls. It breezed through the air, arching upwards and over the main building of Elite. The paper plane required control, but nothing in Papyra's face or the way she skillfully balanced on the paper construct would show that. They soon broke through the cloud line, which Papyra much preferred than riding too close to the buildings and drawing in pedestrian attention. There was always the risk of being hit by a plane or a flying animal when you were that high, but Papyra didn't feel the need to share the details of her close encounters with them.

It took about ten minutes for the trio to arrive in the indigo district, and another several before Papyra was able to see their place of interest down below. The plane did a sudden nose dive towards the abandoned hospital, a mischievous grin on her face as she imagined her teammates' faces.

They plummeted until the plane was a few feet from crashing into the roof. Then, the paper plane evened itself out and gently floated to the ground. Papyra stepped off of the paper plane, and as she did so, it disintegrated into little pieces of confetti that blew away in the wind. She saw that there was a door up ahead, but no signs of Lady Winter anywhere. It was possible the ice surfing girl had arrived before they did and found another way inside of the building.

Papyra turned around and stepped towards the others. The place was already giving her the creeps, but she didn't want to show her weakness already. "I think Lady Winter may be inside. So we should go in and attempt to rendezvous with her, then proceed with the mission," Papyra said, confident the others would also agree.

After witnessing the build up of speed displayed by the knights, Kireina realises that thee was no physical way she could keep up with them using her flight, but unwilling to admit that she hasn't thought of it, she grabbed a long ribbon from a bag on her wheelchair and used it to tie herself to one of the knights, fortunately it was a fairly strong ribbon.

Kireina regretted the idea to fly pretty quickly as the wind generated by the knight's speed buffeted her.
When they had finally arrived she sat against a rock to catch her breath and fix her rather wild looking hair as she waited for all the others to ready themselves and for more details on the mission.

Mina Strand / Crimson Moon - Abandoned Hospital Roof → 3F Hallway

Mina almost reached right for the most convenient thing to grab onto, which just happened to be Papyra herself. But, after her wary response to being touched before, she actually let consideration get the best of her baser instincts and left the other girl alone for now, instead just doing her best to balance on her own. "I'll just hit the deck and grab on if I need to."

The actual flight was amazing. Mina had never before experienced such a sensation of speed, as the wind blasted her face and whipped her hair out behind her. She couldn't help but let out an excited yell as they flew.

Once safely on the roof, Mina stretched her legs a bit. The hospital didn't worry her too much, yet. Sure it was a creepy abandoned building with a Youma inside, but that was no reason to be frightened, in broad daylight, while still outside of any potential monster lair. Besides, their method of transport was still way too thrilling for anything to cool her spirits.

"She probably didn't expect us to come in from the roof," she added in reference to Lady Winter. "So, yeah, we'll just start from the top and run into her somewhere in the middle. Or the entrance, if she's waiting for us before even going in."

She walked right up to the roof access door and tried it. Either the door was locked, or it was stuck. "Damn, door's stuck..." Crimson Moon took a few steps back, before giving the door a solid kick right next to the doorknob. Even with her magically-enhanced strength, it didn't give in after a few blows, but the door eventually gave way, and slowly drifted open. "Good news, we've got a way into the building," she announced to the others. "Bad news, I never was good at subtle, so they might know we're here."

The redhead walked right down the short stairwell, which was already much darker and more claustrophobic than the roof they had just left. It at least looked like it was meant for general foot traffic, instead of some smaller roof access with only the bare minimum for stairs and exposed conduits everywhere. Mina hummed tunelessly to herself as she took the stairs two at a time and arrived at the third floor landing. The door was, fortunately, unlocked this time, and she entered the hallway to scout briefly ahead.

Large windows let in enough light to prevent the hallway from being oppressively dark, although it did little to hide the building's emptiness. Small bits of litter and other debris made it clear the girls were not the first visitors the hospital had seen since it had closed down, and attested to the lack of care it had seen since. At least the place wasn't absolutely filthy with dust and mysterious grime, but given time, it would continue to decay. And the silence was oppressive. She tentatively cracked a few of the doors to rooms on the floor to find nothing of interest, although she didn't go far, so she couldn't be completely separated from the others, who were surely right behind her.

Mint Team - The Forest

The sheer silence wreathing the forest indeed felt unnatural. No birds sang, no insects called, and one couldn't eve hear a quiet rustle of activity from some small animal. Perhaps the recent disruption caused by the team's arrival was the cause, but even so...if a monster was about, it would certainly bring such an oppressive atmosphere with it.

The forest itself was lush, carpeted in thick moss, soft fallen leaves, and the occasional patch of smaller plants. The trees stood majestically apart, and one could see for some distance between them, before they closed to further scrutiny. And off, right at the edge of that distance, the team could see faint, glimmering lights which bobbed as they moved idly through the air. Could these be the ghostly lights Miss Shiarakawa had mentioned?

Angela Christie
At the Village
NPC Hunting

Angela had wordlessly hitched a ride solo on one of the stone knights and was pleasantly surprised to find that they weren't averse to carrying her princess-style. Past that, the ride was spent in silence, and when they arrived, the knights were kind enough to set Angela on the ground. In the end, by the time they arrived, Angela and Kano were the only two who hadn't transformed yet.

"I wonder where the chief of the village is."

Angela did a quick glance around the village, looking for any buildings that looked important. After all, most village chiefs, in her experience, tended to live in buildings that were quite prominent compared to the rest of the village. "Maybe he's at home?" she suggested. "Did anybody tell him we were coming?"

Charee Moreau as La Voisin - Pink Group - Abandoned Hospital

As the plane set of La Voisin took hold of a bit of the paper, marvelling at the size of her hands as she did. Even after transforming many times in the past it still took La Voisin some time to get used to her body's new sizes. Thankfully this didn't affect her sense of balance too much, ans she kept poised throughout the flight. Still, seeing her elongated fingers grasp onto the plane and feeling her lengthened her flowing behind her was an odd experience.

La Voisin was torn away from wondering about her new body as the plane began to plummet out of nowhere. For a moment La Voisin was fearful that Papyra had lost control, however a brief glance at her team-mate's face revealed there was no cause for alarm. Calming herself, La Voisin prepared for landing, hopping off the plane when it halted seconds before crashing into the rooftop.
Crimson Moon's entrance was hardly elegant, but at least it got things done. If they were planning on meeting Lady Winter inside then La Voisin wanted to hurry on in to find her; even if Lady Winter seemed like a bi-... seemed like someone La Voisin wouldn't get along with, La Voisin knew it'd be bad to face a Youma one team member down. This was only their first mission, they'd need all the power they could use in taking down a Youma. So La Voisin dashed after Crimson Moon, entering the sinister building that was the abandoned hospital.

Relief filled La Voisin as registered the fact the hospital wasn't completely grimy- there may be some hope for her to stay relatively clean during the mission. La Voisin still tread down the corridor tentatively, not wanting to touch any of the rubbish, albeit with one less worry on her mind. Looking ahead she could Crimson Moon poking in one or two doors, probably looking for signs of the Youma.

"Does anyone have a plan for finding Lady Winter or the youma?" La Voisin asked, in hushed tones which felt appropriate for the scene.

Lady Winter was never one to wait around for others very long. Instead of standing outside of the creepy hospital, and risking being seen by either The Youma or a Nosy Pedestrian, she decided to head inside. "They'll find me, or I'll find them." Shaking her head, as she gulped down some air. Even though she was a brave girl, sometimes her bravery could be turned into arrogance when she was leading, she was secretly regretting every decision she had ever made that brought her to this day. What happened in her life that would cause her to be at a place like this as a first mission? Lady Winter was on focus mode, she was not about to have some creepy beast sneak up on her. "The first thing that comes running my way, I'm freezing it's ass right on the spot."

Moving her bangs from in front of her eyes, she looked around the area she was standing in. The inside was way more terrifying than she had imagined. It was like some sick horror movie's perfect setting. "Jason, Freddy and Chucky could ALL be in here killing people right about now." She was trying to keep calm by making jokes, but it wasn't working. She would never let anyone, especially her teammates see her sweat and freak out. That was the only good thing about her being in the place by herself; she could freak out without someone catching the usually flawless and pompous Princess acting like a crazy paranoia psychopath.

"Where the freak are these girls? Classless savages." If she would've only stayed outside a few seconds longer, she would've noticed the paper plane landing on the roof of the hospital. Lady Winter was the more snobbish part of Ava-Rose; when she was herself, she was more Bitchy than Snobbish. "This place needs an entire upgrade. I should have my mother get it fixed up and turned into a Teen Night Club. That would be fun." She smirked, kicking a few pieces of debris across the floor. She was starting to feel a little less paranoia and terrified, until loud banging started.

"What the hell?!" She spun around on her heels, and shot her hands forward. She was ready to turn someone into Frosty The Snowman if they came anywhere near her. The loud banging continued. "Wait... is that coming from the roof?" She moved further into the building, leaving the entrance behind. "I think it is. I hope it's the girls." The banging sounds eventually stopped, and Lady Winter was on her way towards the stairs that led to the 2nd floor. "Wait till I see them. How very unprofessional of them to leave a teammate alone like this." Shaking her head.

MINT TEAM FOREST
She didn't care for Alecia's abrupt attitude, but she didn't mind being led out towards their destination. Upon arrival, two of the other girls transformed. She watched, studying their alter egos and committing them to memory. If she failed to remember their actual names, it would at least be easier to remember their magical counterparts.

She reached into her pocket, taking from a small case a large quill that was the length of her forearm. With a barely muttered breath, she transformed. "And all the winds go sighing, for sweet things dying." Much like the person herself, her transformation lacked flash; all it took was a subtle glitter that began from the fingertips that touched the quill, going farther away until her entire form changed.

Her eyes, once a faded color, now an impossible green, lent her stare a much more unnerving quality. She studied their surroundings. Something was... wrong. She knew that as fact, of course, but something else hit her on a deeper level than it would have other girls. Other than the girls, nothing else moved. There wasn't even a soft breeze to stir the leaves.

And that's what was bothering her.

She bent down, picking up a leaf, much to curious gazes of the others. She paid them no mind and instead blew at the small leaf from the palm of her hand. It travelled less than a centimeter before falling to the ground. Irie knelt down, staring at it for a few seconds before resuming her test. With a tentative grasp, she drew a subtle wavy motion across the leaf with her quill. It didn't stir. She tried again, this time placing a circling motion before continuing as she did before; the leaf moved, but hit an invisible wall right at the edge of her circle.

Satisfied with her experiment, she stood and turned to their expectant gazes. With a flourish, she drew a much wider circle than before, and kept a small flow of energy going to keep it steady. Almost immediately, one could hear the difference as even the crunch of her shoes against the ground was audible in the silence that surrounded them.

"It suppresses sound by keeping the air molecules still." She moved closer to them, minimizing the area they'd need. "I can normalize it, but we'll need to keep close. I believe it's in our best interests that I only expand the area once we confront it, so I can conserve my energy."

Pale hands smoothed the fabric of her dress, glancing around. A firebird flitted above their heads and gave it a curious glance before studying past it, and towards the glowing lights in the distance. "I believe our Youma is calling for us." With her quill, she made an almost lazy gesture towards its general direction. "Time to move out?"

Miyuki Aozora/Papyra
Abandoned Hospital 3F

After providing her team with a very cool method of transportation, Papyra thought it best to let Crimson Moon handle the little door situation. She wasn't one for brute strength, and she was interested to see how her teammate would be able to help out. "Easy enough," Papyra would say with an approving nod after Crimson Moon kicked the door in. She folded her arms and followed after La Voisin into the building.

The interior of the hospital wasn't as bad as Papyra would have thought. There were more signs of wear and tear than usual, but that was to be expected of the location. No one had been tending to the place. Off in the distance you could hear the faintest of rodent chirps and water dropping from somewhere in the building. Papyra walked so close to La Voisin that it was a surprise that she hadn't bumped into her. Her calm and cool exterior was starting to crack. She just needed the security of her teammates to keep her mind from wandering as they passed some old hospital rooms.

Papyra blinked as Crimson Moon boldly peeked into the rooms. She was half expecting something to snatch the girl into one of the dark corners. As La Voisin spoke up, chills ran up Papyra's spine and she heard a faint crying echoing through out the hospital halls. She jumped up and latched onto La Voisin's arm, clearly dropping the whole speech she had given herself about independence just days before.

Boneka & Lady Winter

xm5r9c.jpg

Friends... A small child with porcelain skin and raven hair opened her eyes in the darkness. She had heard a loud commotion coming from the third floor in the hospital. It was certainly odd, since she usually had to hunt for her meals, but someone had come to her.

The child rose from the old hospital bed she had been lying on and headed up from the basement. What she didn't expect to find was another girl in the building, seemingly alone and a little unstable. The black haired girl instantly began to sob, and she emerged from the dark hallway she had been lurking in as the girl started up the stairs. Her sobs echoed through out the halls, but anyone who was close enough to hear them in full would be more willing to do her bidding.

"C-Can you help me find my Mommy?" The girl cried, as she came up behind her potential victim.

Lady Winter was making her way up the stairs; slowly but still. She didn't notice anything, but she did hear a sickening sound behind her. It sounded like a child's cry. "Oh come on..." She whined. This was not happening to her right now, this was something straight out of a horror movie. "Why do I have to be the dumb one that gets killed first..." She nearly jumped out her skin when a voice could be heard right behind her. "Don't turn around... don't turn around... don't..." She had to, now that she was saying all of this pretty loudly. As she turned around, her face started to become pale white, paler than it was already.

When she saw a small girl in front of her, she gave a small sigh of relief. "Wow... and here I thought you were some psycho monster or something." She didn't notice how the girl's appearance looked. Something about the little one made her feel safe... or she was under some spell that would've caught her off guard. "Your mommy..." This was odd. "I don't think she's in here little girl.." She wasn't going to be fooled anytime soon. The ease she was feeling, it was starting to leave her. "Who or what are you, really?" She was getting ready to strike if she had to.

The little girl sensed the strange power radiating off of this woman, and she knew that this would be no easy task. The immense power she would gain off of this one human would be worth it, though. That was something she knew for a fact.

"Please." She continued to sob, and started to back away from the girl. She pointed down the dark hallway, frantic. "Th-the monsters - They took her and they're going to hurt her!"

Closing her eyes. Lady Winter knew that something just wasn't right about this creepy girl, but she couldn't really prove that right now. It's not like she could throw a block of ice at her and see what happened. What if the girl was just that, a girl? A scared girl, just like her...

"Little girl..." Something clicked in her head. "What is your name, Little One?" Maybe she could stall her until the others came. "We can go find your mother, just calm down."

The little girl had grown frustrated by the human's resistance to her magic, but it didn't show on her face. She had another idea in mind. She stopped sobbing, but only long enough to speak clearly.

"I'm Brianna, and my Mom... her name is Angela," She said, before the tears started to flow again. As she realized that there were voices coming from upstairs, Brianna panicked again. "They're going to kill her! I have to save her!"

The little girl turned swiftly and ran in the direction of the dark hallway, where the door to the basement was. With any luck, the human would follow.

"Brianna... that's a pretty..." Her eyes popped open wide when the girl, Brianna, started screaming. When she ran off, Lady Winter had no idea what to do. "Wait!" She knew that this would probably be the dumbest thing she has ever done, but she couldn't just leave the girl alone. Still not knowing what was going on. "I'm soo going to regret this." She groaned, as she sprinted after the girl and towards the basement.

Brianna smirked as she heard the girl's voice and footsteps coming from behind her. She continued down the stairs and into the basement. The basement was just as big as the first floor of the hospital, but without much light. It wasn't as run down, and several human bodies lie on the floor. Their life energy had been completely drained, but the decomposition process had yet to begin for some reason.

When Lady Winter came to the basement door, she felt her knees start to buckle. "Calm down and just be brave... yeah right." She could barely see down the stairs that led into the basement. She was not in her right mind for coming down into a dark and creepy basement. "Yup... this is where I'll die. Why do I have to be a hero..." Shaking her head, as she made it all the way down the stairs.

When she felt something next to her foot, she looked down at a lifeless body. "Oh, sorry about that.."Wait... the body was.. lifeless!!!!!!!!!!

"Ahhhh!!!!!!!!" She shot back against the wall and noticed even more bodies. "Brianna... where the freak are you!" And where the freak were her teammates? Something else she wanted to say for the millionth time today.
Brianna's eyes began to glow red in the dark as she spotted the woman's silhouette. "My mommy, she wants to thank you for coming so quickly." The girl said, her voice more cheerful.

"Would you like to meet her?" She asked, giggling. Brianna lifted her arm and raised her hands so that her fingertips were pointed forward. Two life-size marionettes raised from the ground. They looked identical to Brianna, but one wore a pink dress, and the other a purple.

Resting against the wall. Lady Winter heard the girl's sickeningly sweet voice ring in her ears. This girl had to be The Youma. Why didn't that click in her head before. What little girl would be in here all alone with no one around? "Crap..." She was not going to go out without a fight. "Don't come near me."

Shooting her arm out, she used her Frigid Spikes spell. "You are not going to defeat me that easily."She was not going to let some little girl make her a coward. The fear she was feeling was still in her, but she was trying to act brave.

Spell: Frigid Spikes-Small spikes of ice will shoot out from the ground when she uses this spell. Ava-Rose usually uses this spell when an opponent is charging towards her, since the spikes will cause severe pain when stepped on and they will sometimes break off and stick into the feet of her opponent or whichever part of their body touched the spikes.

Brianna noted the human's bravery, but she couldn't comprehend it. She did stop, for a second, when the human exhibited use of her ice powers. Her red eyes squinted into a smile, and she whipped her hand forward, setting the strings flowing from her finger tips ablaze.

"Fire Dance!"

The marionettes' jaws unhinged to let out a shrill scream as they were lit up with fire, and then they rushed forward past their master. They crossed each other in one fluid motion as they neared their opponent, and a blast of fire erupted from their mouths in a wide spiral cone.

Carmen
Mint Team- Mission 1- The Woods

The dancing lights were beautiful in the darkness, but Carmen wasn't fooled. Their youma was sending them an engraved invitation, and the team had no choice but to spring what was an obvious trap. This first mission was shaping up to be a lot more nerve-wracking than she anticipated.

Irina had managed to find a way around the deafness spell, and Carmen gave her an appreciative nod. "Thanks for that, Irina. I'm not sensing any vibrations in the earth, so either this youma is suppressing them the same way it does sound, or it's a flier. Either way, I won't be able to give you advance warning of any surprises."

Charee Moreau as La Voisin - Pink Group - Abandoned Hospital

Soon after hearing echoes of bawling from down the corridor La Voisin felt Papyra immediately attach herself to La Voisin's arm. This would not be a problem were it not for Papyra's revealing outfit, which meant long stretches of Papyra's feminine skin were centimetres away from La Voisin's body. Awfully aware of this fact La Voisin quickly tugged her arm away from Papyra, giving the girl a sympathetic smile after realising it probably wasn't the most comforting reaction.

"If you cling to my arm I can't help protect us from any beasts. I know this place is spooky, but you've got us to back you up Papyra!" La Voisin reassured. Her voice then became serious again, stating "I guess we've got a plan now: follow the noises."

Without waiting for a reply La Voisin began jogging down the corridor, impatient to reunite with their last team mate. Hearing more noises, La Voisin sped up to a sprint, flying down stairs as she reached them. La Voisin couldn't be certain that it was Lady Winter dealing with a youma alone, but if it was.... La Voisin needed to get there as soon as possible. If La Voisin didn't she'd have failed her team mate, the ultimate crime one could commit- yes, a crime even worse than Lady Winter's vanity.

As La Voisin began to fling herself down the last flight of stairs she heard a blood-curdling scream... one which definitely sounded like it belonged to Lady Winter. Whatever they were approaching was enough to make the Queen of Ice herself lose her cool. How encouraging. La Voisin prayed that Papyra and Crimson Moon were behind her as she drew near to The Basement of Hell.

Cordiculya – Purple Team - Mission Area (village)

Cordiculya had dismounted her knights at the same time as the others, and even dismissed the stone figures when the group of girls were fully on their feet. She wasn't opposed to being carried around at all times when transformed, but not only were the locals giving the imposing knights a few nervous glances, Cordiculya was in a sour mood.

With a wave of the magical girl's hand, the silent beings disappeared into less than dust at the same moment. Within that second, the knights might have as well never had existed at all, though it didn't lift Cordiculya's mood one iota.

"'Princess Courtney'…honestly…" The blond girl muttered to herself, folding her arms while her face twisted into an ugly expression. More than anything else, the thing that annoyed her most was that she still wasn't sure if Kano was doing it on purpose.

"I wonder where the chief of the village is."

"Maybe he's at home? Did anybody tell him we were coming?"

"'Where there is Youma, magical girls inevitably follow.'" Cordiculya shrugged, expression still fairly sullen even as she recounted her mother's words. "It doesn't matter if they weren't told, our presence is probably expected."

Cordiculya glanced about, hands moving to her hips as she took in their surroundings. It really was a quaint little village: buildings all pushed closely together to fit into the only space the mountain allowed, smoke rising out of every chimney, gorgeous view of the distant city. It would have been a pleasant space, if there wasn't such an oppressive air of dread hanging around.

Some of the residents moved between the buildings with quick, alert steps. Others moved with slow, distracted gaits, eyes not really looking at anything. There was, notably, not a single unaccompanied child to be seen. And most of all, the place was disconcertingly quiet. True, it was only a small village; it was always going to seem quiet compared to the city the group of magical girls had left behind. But there was cautiousness in the air, like there was fear to even breathe out of turn.

While Youma were certainly varied enough that this could have been some kind of direct spell or effect, Cordiculya knew it wasn't any kind of dark magic that caused this. This was simply a group of people who were fearful for their lives.

Having a literal monster hanging around the area tended to do that to you…

"Well, we won't find out anything by standing here and catching flies with our mouths." Cordiculya smiled ruefully, before stepping up to a young man shuffling down the pathway.

"Excuse me, I was wondering if you would do the honour of-"

Cordiculya practically froze in place as the young man passed her by, eyes pointedly looking off to one side. The magical girl shot him an affronted look, before 'hmhp'ing loudly, and turning to an older woman idling outside a door. The woman's eyes were locked with further up the mountain, full of concern, though the look was broken as Cordiculya walked up to her.

"Pardon me, but could you-"

"N-no, I'm sorry." The woman bowed once, before ducking into the doorway so quickly Cordiculya was still reeling when the door slammed shut.

Turning very slowly, the blond haired princess scanned potential targets, until she finally spied an elderly woman sat on a decrepit stool outside of what looked like some manner of shack. Cordiculya approached the elder with the same kind of caution when uses when trying to avoid spooking a jumpy animal, and in turn the woman looked at the extravagantly dressed girl with undisguised caution. Eventually, the two were face to face, and Cordiculya's sour expression met the woman's own flat one.

"Chief's house. Where do I find it?"

Slowly – ever so slowly – the woman raised a wrinkled hand to point to a modest building in the village's very centre.

"Thank you." Cordiculya inclined her head, before whipping around waving an announcing the destination to 'her' team. Forgoing her knights for the moment, the foursome marched their way into the heart of the village (well, three of them marched: Kireina floated alongside her grounded friends, much to Cordiculya's envy).

The walk was uneventful, but that might have been the reason for it being so uncomfortable. For a place where relatively quite a few people were living, the near silence that had greeted the girls at the village's entrance continued throughout every street. Cordiculya made some half-hearted comment about the 'red carpet treatment,' but didn't speak otherwise.

It wasn't long before the group found themselves before the apparent chief's house. Cordiculya made to knock on the door, but hesitated when she remembered her previous attempts at communication with the locals. She instead stepped aside, gesturing to the door as she said,

"As a responsible team leader, I will freely offer the chance to any volunteers to be our representative in the talk with the village head. It is a grand responsibility, but I trust each of you all the same."

Crimson Moon - Abandoned Hospital - 3rd Floor to Basement

"Place's empty," Crimson Moon commented on the location. If she was frightened, she didn't let it get to her, and her stance and expression continued to be confident. "As for finding things, we can sense each other, right? I remember hearing something like that, so if we get close, we'll know."

Following the noise was a good plan, and she rushed ahead hot on La Voisin's heels. "Wait up," she called ahead as she did her best to catch up to the other magical girl. The various sounds were less haunting as they went on as plainly signs of trouble, and that scream...that was definitely nothing good.

The two of them neared the basement, and Crimson Moon finally pulled ahead and charged right down the stairs. The scene before her was already quite surreal. Corpses scattered in the hallway, lying still like husks drained of all vitality. A small girl at the far end of the hallway, with Lady Winter nearer the stairs, and a pair of marionettes between them, clearly on the attack.

Thinking quickly, Crimson Moon threw up a defensive barrier around Lady Winter. The other girl may not appreciate the sudden appearance of a red shield that looks much like a red-filmed bubble, but she'd probably appreciate the actual defense.

It's a spherical shield which can withstand a few minor attacks at best, before breaking completely.

Kokuyo Kano - Mountain Village
Kano folded her arms over her chest and smirked as she watched Cordiculya try and get information from the inhabitants of the village. If everyone was afraid of the Youma, it would be obvious that they wouldn't want to speak of it, even if the Magical Girls were there to help. It was a bit entertaining to watch Cordiculya try so hard to get information and not really getting anywhere. Until she finally started using some force, sadly, the force fell upon an elderly woman. Kano rolled her eyes as she clutched her saber and followed their "leader".

"Good job, Cordy." Kano remarked before they made their way through the village and stood in front of a large building, the chief's house, or so they supposed. The brunette rolled her eyes as she moved past the other girls and next to Cordiculya before knocking on the door. "Nicknames mean we're friends, right?" Green eyes glanced at Cordiculya before the door opened and an elderly, yet healthy looking man stood in the threshold.

"Ah, you must be the girls from Elite." The Mayor wasn't much taller than Kano, but elderly people did tend to shrink. "Please, come in and I will give you some information about the Youma." The Mayor turned without another word and Kano followed, not really paying attention if the other girls did, but why wouldn't they? "As I'm sure you know, all the attacks are on younger women from the village, while they're on their way to the temple north of the village. I'm very positive that the Youma is our priestess, Lady Shiko. Her younger sister died recently, I fear that Shiko gave into her rage and turned into a Youma. There's been a few witnesses, but obviously, we are powerless."

"That would be something to grieve over." Kano said softly, mainly to herself as she furrowed her brow. "That grief could've easily become hatred, rage. Is that the reason she's only been attacking women?"

"Lady Shiko's sister was swimming with the other females of our village, while the men were out hunting." The man frowned as he turned away from the girls and sighed heavily. "No one was watching and little Shogo drowned when she swam out too far. I believe Shiko is trying to avenge Shogo's death."

"She blames them." Kano nodded as the mayor turned back towards them with a calm, though forlorn, smile on his face. "We will do our best to rid your village of the Youma, Mr. Mayor." The brunette answered as she bowed her head slightly. It wasn't uncommon for a magical girl to turn into a Youma after losing someone close, in fact, it was one of the main reasons, unless they had a lust for power. Still, Kano couldn't feel any sympathy for this Youma. She wasn't a Magical Girl anymore, she was a monster that fed off of human souls.

Without another word, Kano turned and exited the building, not waiting for her comrades. She had a hard time speaking to people, and what little she said the mayor was just as difficult as speaking to a large crowd, in her eyes. So the fresh air and open space gave her some relief as she waiting for the others to follow suite. It was obvious from here on out. They needed to get to the temple to the north and defeat this priestess.

Papyra
Abandoned Hospital Basement

Papyra was so focused on the horrible screams coming from the hospital floor that she hadn't noticed she was clinging to La Voisin. It was when the screaming had stopped that Papyra blushed, and loosened her grip on her fellow magical girl. She kicked it into the gear and hurried in the direction of the screams. It definitely sounded like Lady Winter was in trouble, but there was more to all those sounds than just Lady Winter. There was definitely a Youma nearby, Papyra could sense the sudden surge of magical energy in the hospital.

Papyra arrived in the basement just in time to see Crimson Moon throw up a barrier in Lady Winter's defense. The shield withstood the blast of fire, but just barely. Looking past the other's, Papyra saw a small child guarded by two marionettes. They looked almost identical to the girl, and you couldn't tell they were dolls, unless you looked very closely.

Papyra walked forward and stopped beside Lady Winter. "Are you okay, Winter?" She asked, resting her hand on the girl's shoulder. "It looks like you've found the Youma for us." Papyra looked to the little girl again, chills running up her spine as she gazed into those evil, red eyes.

After the marionettes' attack failed they retreated and stood guard in front of Brianna. The addition of three new girls with obviously unique sources of power made Brianna smirk. "Are these your friends?" Brianna asked Lady Winter, head tilting to the side. Being a Youma, Brianna couldn't feel fear in the same way that regular humans did, but she knew to be weary. She was still much more powerful than them, though, and her marionettes were perfect for distracting her opponents.

"I must say, I was looking forward to draining you dry, but you've brought me enough power to last a lifetime." Brianna said, the marionettes sent rushing forward once more. They performed the same flame attack, but they didn't stop there. The marionettes emerged from the fire, covered in flames. One lunged for Crimson Moon, and the other for La Voisin.

Papyra stepped back quickly, running around the marionettes and towards Brianna. The marionettes hadn't been going for her, and she doubted she would do much good against fire. Perhaps, if they took out the little girl she could draw some of the heat off of the others. She summoned a giant paper shuriken, then flung it towards the Youma.

Charee Moreau as La Voisin - Pink Group - Abandoned Hospital

La Voisin watched Crimson Moon throw up a barrier just in time to save Lady Winter from the full force of the marionette's flames. Relief washed over La Voisin, although she cursed herself for not being able to do anything to save Lady Winter herself. All La Voisin could do was add to the flames, and this didn't seem like the best situation to fight fire with fire; although La Voisin was curious to see how her douse attack would react to the marionette's flames.

"Are these your friends?"
La Voisin's attention turned to the source of the voice, a small girl who seemed unconcerned by the presense of the two deadly marionettes besides her. So, this was the Youma... they looked pretty cute, considering they were the emobiment of evil. Too bad that pretty face was going to have to get crushed in, alongside those creepy marionettes.

A marionette covered in flames lunged towards La Voisin. Was it somewhat resistant to the fire? Time to find out just how resistant La Voisin decided, casting her dousing attack towards the marionette. In an attempt to keep the fiery puppet away from her self La Voisin jumped back, thrusting her staff forwards as she did. If La Voisin could keep the marionette away then she could sneak in an attack on the actual Youma; if not she was going to need to seek help keeping these blazing things away from her.

Cynthia Einfeld - Mission One - Mint Team - Spooky Forest

Red's eyes glazed over in interest as transformations followed up. Based on what she remembered from experience or overheard conversations, she wasn't surprised by what she saw. The media had its task to mislead and speculate one's alternative persona, the magical hero, but as an active agent out in the middle of a hostile field, not having snooped and dug just a bit past the surface would have seemed really dumb if she had to make the dreaded follow up report - the same ones she had blotched in her first year. Having a bit of idea as to what alignment each girl had, there were no nasty surprises, and thus Red had kept her best subtle side glance trained on Irine.

Each person in the group had their strengths, and if [she] the group acknowledged, respected, those strengths, they'd rely on that strength, on each person, without question. A functioning, seamless team was a result, not a standard, and Red knew that she'd need to continue this low key hazing to curb her more antagonistic attitude towards new environments. So when Irine had effortlessly granted them the gift of sound back, Red gave a curt nod in her direction. Not exactly pleased, but definitely grateful in some sense. She breathed just a little easier, gaining back the comfort she regularly took for granted.

However, as bratty as the thought was, now that one problem had been solved another seemed to arise in it's place. Red turned her eye towards where Irine had pointed with her quill, where Carmen faced, and grimaced at the dizzying lights, though dim and seemingly harmless, was likely the team's assigned target.

Silently, her eyes flickered upwards, to where the bird of hers lightly circled above. Giving a subtle jerk of her head, the bird circled once, twice, then descended low enough so that the dust and mold grazing just beyond their ankles was cast in light. Red had many strengths on her, but a perfect 20/20 vision was not one of them. Even with a shimmering fire lighting the average human eyes on her skill set, she needed the bird to light just portions of the path they were to take.

Keeping an open palm rested on the hilts of her swords, she edged her way towards the light, taking care not to overextend beyond the perimeter that Irine had drawn out. "I'll take lead then? You can't sense vibrations," she nodded to Carmen, "and I don't expect you to blanket us and weather first wave, or whatever it throws at us" she nodded to Irine. Bottom line, Red would be ready.

As ready as one could be walking into a trap anyway. Where did they have to hide though? The forest did not come with convenient pockets of space to occupy and hide under, and assuming the ghastly light had a 360 degree awareness, in a spherical angle, it'd be pointless to try. The only way Red would take was forward, and so they would march.
