    Getsu City/Bishoujo City, Getsu

Getsu City, also known as Bishoujo city, is a large city on Getsu Island. It is one of the largest islands in the world. Being that it is in the North Pacific Ocean, the dominant culture on this island is Japanese, with a slight American influence in the fashion sense and food culture, and a higher population of foreigners than Japan. On first glance it looks like a calmer version of Tokyo and New York City, but it's much more spacious. It is also the home of the Elite Magical Girl Academy, which is hidden away on the outskirts of Getsu City.

The farther you go out from Getsu City, the more green you'll begin to see. There are plenty of farms, villages, and beautiful beaches once you leave Getsu City. Unfortunately, the countryside can be even more dangerous than the city, with Youma hiding in the surrounding forests and often attacking small villages freely. It is where ancient, rare Youma are said to hide.

    On Campus Locations
Note: Try not to have too many character's congregrating in the same area! :) These spots are mostly for character socialization, but may become key points in the rp at some point.

Tennis Court - Near the courtyard, behind a gate with bleachers for onlookers.
Greenhouse - A decent sized greenhouse for those with a green thumb.

  • Posting Rules
    1. When posting, use your character's name as a header and their location.
    2. During battles, do not autohit NPCs. This includes Youma and Magical Girl.
    3. No metagaming or Godmodding, at all. If you have permission to do so from the Player, then this is fine.
    4. No collaborative posts, unless two characters are on a date , or something similar and there is no risk of another being around.
    5. If you are inactive without word for two weeks, then you will be dropped and your character will be taken control of by me. Posting IC means you agree to this rule.
    6. No sex scenes within the IC thread. And definitely no sex scenes with people not in your age range.
    7. Intermediate writing standards are expected in this rp, and I will accept no less than a paragraph(5-7 sentences) for IC posts.

    Combat Rules
    1. No Auto-hitting or taking control of a Youma. This is mainly for plot purposes. If you were to take control of one of the enemies this may be interrupt plots or ideas we have in mind. Also to keep the fights balanced and to make sure everyone gets their fair share of butt-kicking from the Youma. You are welcome to direct a hit at a Youma, but do not say the attack has landed, until the person controlling the Youma acknowledges it as fact. Youma Players reserve the right to say a Youma's attack has landed on a character, to kidnap players, or anything else that enemy characters may do. This is, again, for plot purposes. Rest assured we won't ever inflict fatal wounds on your character without your consent, and if we plan to
kidnap or do anything similar to your character we may inform you first depending.

    2. Be reasonable. If your character has already used a couple of attacks that require a decent amount of power or more advanced utility skills it will show. Their energy is not infinite. I'm going to give people freedom to pick their skills and attempt to dodge/evade/attack, but ultimately whether something affects the Youma is up to
the Youma player to keep things fun, fresh, and fair.

    3. The first time you use one of your character's spells, please provide a description of what it does in your post, or include it in a spoiler tag. This will make things easier on everyone, especially the Youma players.

Miyuki Aozora - Volleyball Net ----> 2C

Miyuki was no sore loser, but Ava's boasting and obnoxious mannerisms made her wish she had played a little harder. If only she had a victory to rub in the pink haired girl's face. Still, a sore loser she was not, and she would not take Ava's comments seriously. It was obvious that Ava was only being playful. Miyuki would just have to learn how to better deal with such a strong personality, but that would have to come at a later time.

"As much as I'd love to get something to eat, I have some things back at the dorm to take care of," Miyuki replied, lifting her arm to take a glance at her white and rose gold watch. She had spent more time than she had anticipated playing volleyball, but it was all worth it. Now, she needed to get back and finish unpacking, before the school year officially started.

Her ruby eyes returned to the girl standing before her, and she opened her arms in gesture for Ava to return her volleyball. After it was returned, Miyuki would offer a quick wave good bye, and head back to her dorm to finish getting settled in on campus.

Carmen
House A, Room 3B

"A double helping of chocolate cookies? Don't mind if I do, Kiriena, but first, let me get Sam's stuff to her room. Then we can take care of the snacks."

Carmen hauled some of Samantha's upstairs, never guessing at the embarrassing secrets lurking within. When the other girl finished unpacking, well, the earth wielder was rather floored. Apparently, Samantha was also willing to pay through the nose for her silence. "Alright, then. Get me the jumbo platter from the sushi place down the street, and you got yourself one kept secret." The big Latina couldn't help chuckling to herself. Not even an hour into the school year, and she'd already had two bribes offered to her. At this rate, she wouldn't have to buy a snack this whole year.

Mission One - Second Day of School
Kokuyo Kano --> Courtyard

Kano was enjoying her second day at Elite so far. Not only did they skip having regular scheduled classes, she learned that Thursdays were designated hunting days. The downside to this, Kano had to work with a team. That morning had consisted of a brief meeting of the third year students, all of whom had learned their team and their instructor who would inform them of their mission. Kano sighed softly as she made her way through campus towards the courtyard, that had been where Instructor Shizuka and the rest of Team Purple was supposed to be meeting.

The brunette had recognized one of the three girls that were to be on her team. The dark haired girl in the wheel chair she'd seen in the library. The other, Kano had no knowledge of, which was no surprise really and nor did she care that she didn't know this girl. Being on a team wasn't her main worry and neither were her teammates. Killing Youma was her primary goal and she was going to prove her strength and resilience without her transformation.

As she neared the fountain in the courtyard, she saw a woman with black hair standing with a clipboard and writing something on it. Kano looked around, no one else was there, so that must've been Miss Shizuka. She looked young, to be a teacher at least, but then again, all magical girls' aging slowed after a certain age. Another perk the heartstone offered their magical girl other than providing the source of their transformation.

"Miss Shizuka?" Kano asked as she neared the woman, who turned and smiled when she saw Kano. The brunette bowed politely before introducing herself. "I'm Kokuyo Kano."

"Ah, Miss Kokuyo," Miss Shizuka smiled before bowing her head. "It's nice to meet you, you're the first one here it seems. Once the other girls arrive I'll brief you on your mission today." Kano just nodded as she moved forward and sat on the edge of the fountain. She didn't like waiting, it made having a team even more annoying.

Aozora Miyuki - Orchards

Miyuki liked to think that her second day at Elite was going smoothly. She had survived her briefing with her supervisor, Miss Airhart, and also gotten a good look at who she would spend her Youma Hunting days with. The only face she recognized out of her group was Ava, a name and face that stuck with her easily after being defeated by her at volleyball. There were two others, of course, but besides their looks, Miyuki had no real opinion on them. That would all be changing in a matter of minutes, however, as Miyuki passed through the gardens to meet with her new comrades and their supervisor in the Orchards.

First to arrive. Miyuki thought to herself. The students who had different hunting days were most likely still in class, so the orchards were mostly empty, which made it a perfect place for their team to meet up. Miss Airhart was waiting in the center of the orchards, elegant as always. Miyuki continued forward to meet with the woman. She stopped in front of her and bowed slightly.

"Hello, Miss Airhart. It's a pleasure to be here," Miyuki said, smiling up at the woman. Miss Airhart wore a subtle smile, but her presence was warm and welcoming, which made talking to her easier. It didn't help that she was also stunning, which brought a faint blush to Miyuki's cheeks.

"I appreciate your eagerness, Miss Aozora. Now, where might your classmates be?" Miss Airhart replied gently. Her hands went to her hips, and she looked past the white haired girl, at whoever might be approaching next.

Mission One
Mina Strand - Orchards

It was a good day. Mina hadn't had any real trouble so far, although it was only the second day. She'd briefly met the other girls she'd be working with for the semester, although she only one she'd recognized is her next door neighbor in the dorms. It was with a spring in her step that she made her way over to the orchards to meet with the others for their first hunting assignment. It took a while of wandering around to actually find the proper meeting spot in the area, though that she wasn't the first to show up made it a little easier.

"Yo," Mina called out as she approached, waving to the white haired young lady and shapely teacher already waiting. "This must be the place, huh?" She couldn't help the eager grin on her face, she really was too excited about the prospect of getting out and hunting down monsters. It's what magical girls are all about, in her mind.

Their teacher, Miss Airhart, was as comely as ever, although Mina knew far better than to push her luck with anyone on the school's staff. It was still hard not to stare, so she quickly turned her attention to sizing up her teammate.

"Hm...not bad, not bad," Mina quietly said to herself. Is that her natural color, she wondered, idly pulling a strand of her own silvery hair and studying it.

Suzu Shirakawa (NPC) - The Greenhouse

The second day of classes began, which meant that it was time for practicals for the third years. Suzu wouldn't even be waiting in the greenhouse, otherwise. She sneezed once again, and quietly grumbled to herself at the choice of location aggravating her allergies. At least none of the students were there to overhear it, yet. The sooner they arrived the better, because then they could all be off.

Miss Shirakawa didn't look particularly impressive, compared to some of the teachers. Her hair was continually unkempt, and she looked like the sort of woman who barely slept, with dark circles under her eyes. She was at Elite to teach and do research, not to impress anybody.

Once again, she looked to her clipboard and began reading through the mission and the information on the students in her team. She'd be working with these young minds for the rest of the year, so it would do her well to familiarize herself with them all. It would still likely take a while to really link names to faces, but the effort was always worth it.

Cynthia Einfeld - Mission One - Mint Team - Greenhouse

Cynthia picked at the uniform. She didn't particularly harbor a positive or negative opinion on it, not yet anyway. The colors weren't completely outlandish, the material was pleasantly thin, and it wasn't like the skirts were absolutely mandatory. It was convenient, and offered a full range of movement without fear of flashing the wrong person at the wrong time - with the pants that is. Today, she had bit down on her tongue as she pulled the skirt up her legs, her frown immediately turning into a very severe grimace. "I might as well just wear nothing down there," she grumbled, displeased by the overwhelming sense of immodesty. She was more than alright to show a bit of leg from time to time, however, she was also used to wearing something that would at least protect her panties from being in any kind of danger - a sense of security which the skirt just couldn't provide.

Waking up with her butt feeling like microwaved death though, convinced her to just skip the pants for today though. It was just for one day, and she was likely going to be wandering about in her other uniform anyway, so really, she'd only have to suffer for an hour or three at most. She muttered to herself for a bit more, and nearly convinced herself all was fine as she stepped out the door when she turned her heel at the last moment and stalked over to the closet to pull out the very thin sweater … hooded cardigan … thing. The school wouldn't penalize someone who just happened to be a "little chilled", right? Doesn't matter: it covered her butt. She wins, automatically.

Walking calmly now, giving away nothing - least of all the terrible inner turmoil moments beforehand, Cynthia reluctantly praised the decision to go with a skirt. The heat sucked and the lack of restriction around her legs definitely made it ten times more bearable. When she remembered where their team was gathering at, she heaved a sigh of relief - because if it was already unbearable outdoors, the greenhouse would have been even stuffier and irritate her furthermore.

Stepping into the dome that was the school's greenhouse, Cynthia's eyes roamed hungrily around the space she so rarely occupied. As someone who regularly burned down such sceneries, it didn't hold her attention for too long. Before long, her eyes settled on Shirakawa, a little frazzles, a little irritated, but it was a welcome sight. She was obviously someone who'd rather get things done and cleared up than to wander around headless and unknowing, something she understood herself - though likely in different contexts.

Stopping short just past the curved path, Cynthia took a loud step and tilted her head in a slight nod. "Cynthia Einfeld," she reported in, eyeing the clipboard. At the back of her head, a voice noted that she was seemingly the only one present. Hopefully that'd change. She had memorized the name of her teammates and did her best to pick up memories from the years before, and in a particular case, recently. As far as she remembered, they all seemed to be decent people, capable and competent. She hadn't heard of some scandal attached to their name, but hopefully they'd be able to successfully get some good work in today.

Finding a bench just two steps off, Cynthia sat herself down, her hands sliding into the pockets of the long sweater she'd thrown on.

Ava-Rose was on her way to meet up with her Youma Hunting Team; which she wasn't exactly that excited about. Taking a deep breath as she walked through the gardens, fixing the lace under her uniform skirt. It was very obvious that she had tampered with her uniform a lot; it took all night and some of the morning to make it her own. She knew she would probably get in trouble for literally changing everything about the uniform. It wasn't the first time she has done the exact same thine. Ava-Rose has switched up her uniform every year that she has been in Elite and she wasn't going to let her last year there begin without a uniform upgrade. The uniforms that the girls had to wear, they were hideous and even though none of her friends went to the school, she had a reputation to uphold and that was more important than some stupid school rule. For a school that embraced magical girls and their differences, Elite sure didn't embrace individual style as much as they should. Just thinking about what her Supervisor, Miss Airhart, might say, made Ava-Rose giddy with laughter.

She was the type that liked to push people's buttons; wanting to see how far she could go before they finally exploded. She enjoyed getting under others skin. Most couldn't even make her bat an eyelash their way if they wanted a huge reaction from her. She really could be a cold witch at times. "Now where is my group?" She stood near the edge of the garden, forgetting for a second that she was suppose to go towards the Apple Orchards.

Finally it clicked. "Oh... duh!" She spun on her heels and sashayed the rest of the way. Spotting Miss Airhart with Miyuki and another girl who she didn't care to get to know, she moved over to Miyuki and tapped her on the shoulder. "Hey!" She grinned, waving at their supervisor. "You look lovely today, Miss Airhart." She wasn't a brown noser, but a little compliment never hurt anyone.

There was one girl left to show up before they would start their first mission. Ava-Rose would rather the girl never show up and maybe they could cancel the mission and go get a massage or something. Why, oh why couldn't a mission be take a day for pampering and have fun outside of the school? Rolling her eyes at the idea of getting dirty and having to lead the other girls. Oh yes, she just knew she would be the Leader of her group. The only way her group would succeed in their first mission was to let her be in charge; or that's what she thought, like always.

Angela Christie
Building A > Courtyard Fountain Area
Mission day!

Morning came, Angela woke, and things honestly couldn't be better. No classes on Thursdays, due to Thursday being the weekly mission day. Angela would get to join three other girls (including her neighbor and occasional friend Samantha) in a hunt for a Youma. Odd name to be calling them. Magical girls weren't limited to the US and Japan; Samantha was proof of that. Then again, Elite was the oldest--and so far, only--school to actually teach magical girls the stuff they needed to know. Which, honestly, didn't bode well for any magical girls who for some reason couldn't get into Elite. In Angela's mind, it was no wonder so many Youma were wandering about. What else would happen to the misfortunate girls who had no guidance on using their powers?

"Stop!" Angela said aloud, trying to clear her head. "Stop stop stop stop. Thinking too much, need a distraction . . . ." A good distraction would be getting dressed! Except she was already dressed in the skirt version of Elite's uniform. Second best thing? Going to meet the team. Angela made sure she had everything handy, then made her way down to the lobby by way of banister slide. The courtyard wasn't much farther, and Angela wasted no time getting there with a smile on her face. "Ms. Shizuka, nice to see you again," she said to her supervisor before turning to the only other girl present. "And it's also a pleasure to meet you. I'm Angela." She stuck her hand out for a handshake politely, expecting at least a lukewarm reception.

Charee Moreau - Orchards.

Charee strolled towards the orchard with a spring in her step, her body restless with excitement. Today she would finally be able to battle an actual live Youma; it was her first opportunity to truly show the world that she was not only strong, but used her strength for justice. As cringy as it may sound, Charee was exuberant at the thought she would be helping others with her magical girl powers by defeating Youma. Not only that, but she was glad she had the opportunity to develop her powers further so she would be able to do an even better job at protecting innocent people in the future. To add to Charee's enthusiasm even more was the fact this was the start of forming a hopefully close bond with her team mates, who she would have to rely on in battles over the year. Every aspect of this new adventure had Charee completely pumped.

Upon arriving at the orchard Charee tried grab an apple from a tree, having to reach up as high as possible to do so. Whilst she did she surveyed the orchard for her group, spotting them several meters away. By the looks of it the whole group was already there; Mina, who seemed friendly enough on the first day; Ava, who was fulfilling the many rumours about her the improper uniform she was wearing; and Aozora, who Charee didn't actually know anything about. Knowing she was the one they were waiting for Charee quickly jogged over, waving in greeting as she did.

"Hello everyone~," Charee lilted when she arrived by the group, "I hope I'm not late Miss, I-I really didn't mean to be if I am. I hope we can all do our best together!"

Charee made a point of smiling at the group, before taking a bite from her apple. Being the last one to arrive may have left a bad impression, Charee thought, but she was determined to prove herself later on when they were battling Youma. Later on when she wasn't nibbling on this succulent apple....

Carmen
Mint Team-Mission 1
Greenhouse

Okay, this is it. No more daydreaming in class, or taking it easy. Now the real challenge begins. Carmen woke up, smacked the alarm clock until it finally got the hint and shut up, and got dressed. Hair tied in a ponytail to keep it out of her eyes, heartstone on a necklace so it wouldn't get misplaced. She was ready, willing and able for her first patrol.

Apparently, they were meeting at the greenhouse. It seemed an odd choice of locations, but whatever. Carmen raced down there with a spark in her eye. Miss Shirakawa seemed a little distracted, which left her slightly unnerved. You'd think the teachers would be on point for a mission with truly fresh students, but she was still eager to go. "Carmen Hernandez, present."

Carmen spotted Cynthia, looking rather bored. "So, have you been told the game plan yet, or is Miss Shirakawa going to wait for everyone to show?"

Kokuyo Kano - Courtyard
Kano watched as another girl approached her and Miss Shizuka near the fountain. It must have been another one of the girls on her team. She wasn't sure what to make of her, Kano always tried not to judge people by their appearance. Still, she sat idly on the edge of the fountain as the brunette introduced herself to the instructor and then turned, extending her hand to Kano. Green eyes glared at the hand that was offered before glancing up at the girl who was called Angela.

"I was taught to bow when I meet new people." Kano said as she stood and gave Angela a slight bow from the waist. "I'm Kokuyo Kano."

That's all that Kano thought she needed to give about herself. Angela may be her teammate, but she wasn't her friend. Besides, this was supposed to be a Youma hunt, not a social event. Kano turned back towards the fountain, holding the grip of her saber that was holstered at her hip. She wondered when the other two girls would be arriving, the longer she had to wait the more irritating being around these people was becoming. She huffed softly before folding her arms over her chest and glaring at the water.

Mission 1-Second Day-Kireina

Kireina had spent a large chunk of her otherwise empty afternoon the previous day doing two things, making sure the cookies were all delivered, and preparing everything she would need for her first mission.
Despite these preparations however, she was the third to arrive, having had trouble navigating her way there. Her uniform was immaculate with the only addictions being a pair of thick black stockings on her legs, just in case it cooled down later.

After introducing herself to miss Shizuka, Kireina settled in to wait. She recognized one of her team, the girl who had helped her get that book in the library and then disappeared... Deciding to leave off talking to her until she had a better sense of the rest of the team, Kireina waited, only moving up once everyone else had arrived, eventually deciding to introduce herself to Angela.
"Hello?... Actually I am Kireina Aki... Nice to meet you".
She said, extending her hand.

Miyuki Aozora ~ Orchards

"Hello, Miss Strand," Miss Airhart said. She moved her hands from her hips and looked down at her clipboard, an almost inaudible chuckle escaping her as she noted Mina's enthusiasm. She looked up, spotting another girl who she recognized as her student dressed in what could only be described as an insult to all uniforms.

Miyuki turned just enough to see another of her teammates enter the orchards. Miyuki didn't stare, but she had noticed this new girl's gaze lingering on Miss Airhart for a second too long, and very discreetly shook her head at the girl's actions. She clasped her hands in front of her and left them to rest on her lap as their supervisor prepared to greet the newcomers. From beside her she thought she heard Mina mumbling something, but she couldn't make out exactly what it was and remained silent. Mina did seem like a strange one.

"Here comes your other teammate. Let's hope they're as eager as you two to get started," Miss Airhart added before Ava Rose was within hearing distance. She looked at the pink haired girl, eyes widening as she got a closer look at the outfit. As a staff member it was her job to enforce the strict uniform policy, and she was going to do just that, until Ava had cut in with her own little compliment regarding Miss Airhart's attire. The teacher pursed her lips tight, then sighed and rolled her eyes. "Thank you, Miss Lefevre, but you do know that your uniform is-"

Once again Miss Airhart was cut off as another of her student's jogged over with a cheerful greeting. Miss Airhart glanced at Ava, before sighing softly in resignation. The uniform truly was the least of these girls' worries, so she decided to let it go for now. What mattered most was that her team was fully present for the details of their first mission.

"You're just in time," Miss Airhart replied to Charee. She gave her clipboard one last look over, then put her hand on her hip. "Now that you're all here you should listen very carefully to what I'm about to say, because once you leave the school grounds you are on your own." When she was sure that the girls were paying attention, she continued. "What you experienced during your first two years at Elite will vary greatly from what you're going to see today. I can guarantee you that none of it will be pretty. It will be tough, and you'll need your team, as well as quick thinking to survive out there. The number one mistake rookie magical girls make is going into the battle with the mindset that they can handle it on their own." Miss Airhart gave each of the girl's a stern look, then she began to speak again.

"The magical girl simulator and test dummies will never measure up to the real Youma roaming the world. However, I am confident that the four of you have made it up to this point for a very good reason, and that each of you being in a group together is no coincidence." Miss Airhart said. She crossed her arms, hoping that what she said had sunk into the girls' heads in time for their mission. "I guess the true test will be whether or not you all return to me at the end of the day."

Miss Airhart's expression softened. After a moment, she raised the clipboard again to go over it, only this time she began reading it's contents to the girls."Your objective today is to investigate the old abandoned hospital in the Indigo District. Locals have reported hearing strange cries coming from the hospital at random hours of the day, but it doesn't end there. There was a Youma sighted there just last night, and someone in the neighboring apartment building had reported their partner went missing around that time that the crying began. We're not positive that the two are linked, but we'd like you to investigate the hospital and take care of it as soon as possible."

Miyuki had followed everything Miss Airhart had said up until 'the old abandoned hospital' part. The idea of fighting Youma was what terrified her the least out of the whole mission, but on the bright side she had finally been given official magical girl orders. She bit her bottom lip, eyes glancing around to gauge the other's reactions. Miyuki inhaled a deep breath then looked at Miss Airhart, somewhat hesitant to take the next step.

"Do you ladies have any questions?" Miss Airhart asked, blinking. "If not, you'll want to be heading off right away."

Alecia Silverman - Mint Team - Greenhouse

Perhaps Alecia should have gotten to know her group better the day before, but there was no point in lingering on that thought now. Today was the day she started her first mission, and so there was no time to waste on thinking about yesterday. After inspecting her uniform in the mirror and finding the skirt option to be just a tad above 'adequate', Alecia made her way to the meeting place of her team, the greenhouse. What kind of a meeting place is that? She thought to herself as she briskly paced to her destination, ignoring the students that she passed as she walked by. She had no time for them and they knew it, with her chin held up high and every stride emblazoned with purpose.

Arriving at the greenhouse, Alecia was somewhat irritated to find that she was not the first to arrive. Glancing over at the two girls who were already present, Alecia didn't give them much thought before she rolled her eyes away from them and over to who she assumed was Miss Shirakawa. To say she was unimpressed was an understatement. From the look of the woman, Alecia couldn't say she looked as qualified as the young woman had expected. Not only did Miss Shirakawa shows signs of being affected by the greenhouse and the various allergens it contained, but her overall appearance was not one that inspired confidence. At least not for Alecia. Though luck for her, she had her own confidence, her own belief in her abilities.

Approaching Miss Shirakawa, Alecia bowed slightly and remained as stoic as she could. "Alecia Silverman, present," she said, making no effort to hide the almost-regal lilt to her voice. She was quick to move away from the teacher, now turning her attention back to her teammates. Ignoring one of them as she spoke to the other, Alecia found a seat on a stone bench nearby, keeping a moderate distance between herself and the others. Though her eyes continued to flicker over to the two of them, just a slight hint of judgement held within them. So these are some of the people I'll be working with, she thought, internally scoffing. Let's hope they're better than they seem. Whilst she had always been told never to judge others immediately, Alecia couldn't help that she was scrutinising every aspect of her team. If they were going to hunt Youma together, she needed to be wary of her team members and what they were like. And the best way to do that was to sit back and watch them.

Mina Strand - Orchards

Mina snapped to attention and listened carefully as Miss Airhart explained their mission. An abandoned hospital was so cool. Sure, it would be a pretty spooky sort of place, and she really hoped they wouldn't have to wander around a place like that after dark. Whatever youma had made its nest there would no doubt be dangerous simply because it was fighting on its home turf.

"No questions here," she said to the team's supervisor. "It's not like it's difficult to figure out, right? We go out there, fight this thing, and report back." She oozed confidence as she summed up their mission. It wouldn't be so easily done, but that wouldn't stop her.

Mina turned to the other girls on her team, and introduced herself. "I'm Mina Strand. If we're working together from now on, we might as well get to know each other better." She considered how best to break the ice in the party. "And if we'll be fighting together, it might be best to talk a bit about that. You know, particular magical skills, or fighting styles and stuff. I tend to like fighting up close and personal, not that it means I'm no good if I can't close in. What about you," she asked the others.

Suzu Shiarkawa (NPC) - The Greenhouse

Miss Shiarakwa nodded to Cynthia after she introduced herself. "Cynthia," she repeated, as if to help cement the name in her mind, and associate it with the girl's face. "Looks like you're the first. Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long." She sneezed again.

Carmen's arrival and introduction brought another acknowledgement from their supervisor. "Carmen." The same as before, although she did answer Carmen's question. "I'm waiting for everyone to arrive. It's easier if I only have to explain things once."

Alicia likewise received a simple acknowledgement when she arrived, and so did Irina, when she arrived shortly thereafter. "It seems like everyone's here," Miss Shirakawa said, after a particularly bad sneezing fit. "So, I'll go over your mission, so you can get out there. Live combat with Youma is dangerous, but if we didn't think you were all ready for it, you wouldn't be here. Still, you should be careful and work together; youma are extremely dangerous, and I won't be going with you, so nobody will swoop in to save the day if things look bad. So if they do, don't feel like you can't run."

Her tone wasn't particularly harsh, even if her words were. "Your mission for the day is to investigate the forest to the west of the city. We've gotten reports of disappearances from one of the nearby towns. The reports indicate those who disappeared were attempting to follow strange lights deeper into the forest, so it's possible that a youma is responsible. Based on the information, it doesn't sound like one which is particularly powerful, so it's best to exterminate it now, before it can claim more victims. We have arranged for transportation to the mission area." She paused to sniffle a bit.

"Any questions?"

Ava-Rose had to hold back the huge and very smug smile that was trying to place itself on her face as she reveled at seeing how uncomfortable her Supervisor had been when said woman spotted her scandalous changes to the school's bland uniform. She wanted to say something about the situation when the last girl finally pranced her way over to the small group. She smirked and whispered to herself. "Oh, how sweet... we have a Toddler to take care of as our first mission." Rolling her eyes, Ava-Rose rested against one of the apple trees and waited to here about the actual mission; which she hoped wasn't something too crazy from the start. She knew that these missions wouldn't be a walk in the park; her mothers had told her many stories about their own times being in Elite and being on these missions. They had the wildest stories and Ava-Rose wasn't expecting anything different from what they went through.

Blowing a loose strand of hair out of her face, she turned to Miss Airhart when the woman started speaking about what they were going to be doing and everything else that sounded like it was copied off a computer or something. She was barely listening until she heard something about an abandoned hospital. Her eyes nearly dropped out her head when she heard what was going on at said hospital. Crazy crying and screaming that no one knows where it's coming from. Her right hand started shaking lightly; putting her other hand over it. Ava-Rose would never show anyone any emotions that made her look weak, she had too much pride for that. Putting on a fake smile, she turned to the one named Mina and walked over to her.

Moving her hair from in front of her face, again, she cleared her throat. With a false sense of calm. "I'm Ava-Rose. You probably know who I am, so what's the point of an introduction." Laughing, trying to have the attention on her for as long as possible. "Anyway, when it comes to fighting. I like to fight from mid to long range. My Ice spells are more for range attacks and not up close and personal. I can handle the range attacks if anything comes our way, charging and all that." She grinned. "I can also create an Ice Wall or Barrier to keep us from getting hurt to much, just in case one of you fail at this." Moving back to her tree area, she waited for them all to introduce themselves and whatnot. She wanted to get this done so she would never have to step in the hospital again... she hoped.

Samantha Garland - Courtyard (fashionably late)

It had taken Samantha a lot of work to wake up that morning.

True, this wasn't exactly new: the girl was as far from a 'morning person' as one could reasonably be. She was groaning and shuffling like a zombie from the moment she slammed a hand down on her ungodly loud alarm clock, and it was only after she had finished nibbling down breakfast did she actually start to resemble a human being. Even as she went about brushing her hair, cleaning her teeth, and sluggishly pulling her clothes on she would have a dazed look about her. For all these reasons and more, it was a fair assertion that it took a great deal of effort for her to rouse herself from the lingering siren call of sleep.

However, something else was slowing her down this particular morning. Nerves.

"It's fine. It's perfectly fine. It couldn't possibly be more fine." Samantha assured herself as she shakily ran a brush through her hair, eyes not really looking at the mirror as she did so. "I mean, it's all just standard procedure, right? Everyone has to do these kinds of missions. Mother had to, and she's fine, right?"

Yes, her mother! Surely if she dug into her memories, Samantha would find some encouraging words that her mother had told her sometime in the past. The magical girl in training cast her net of thoughts into the swirling pool of her memories.

"Samantha, put one hand against your chest. Do you feel the rhythm? That pulsing? That is the thrum of the Garland blood in your veins. As long as that heart beasts, your responsibility and privilege is to be a symbol to both the people and to all you come across."

Samantha felt her erratic heart rate ease, and her breathing stabilize.

"Samantha, I know that you hold real strength inside you. Strength not just to command you're knights, but to one day make the world a better place. I know that you will make me proud, my beautiful cherub."

The hand holding her brush now moved steadily, and Samantha felt a smile spread onto her features as she looked at her golden hair. Just one of the many things her mother had given her…

"Hmm. Have I ever told you about that time I had to wrestle a Youma to the ground with my bare hands? I mean, it wasn't easy: the thing had eight arms, thirteen eyes and two mouths. Haha, the damn thing could eat a person whole AND scream at the same time-"

Slamming her hairbrush down with enough force to dent her dresser, Samantha decided that was quite enough of memory lane.

As she finally managed to depart her room, Samantha tried one more attempt at calming herself down. She focused on the fact that the academy wouldn't be sending magical girls alone without supervision if these hunting missions were THAT dangerous. The entire reason the squads went without instructors was because the only true way to learn how dangerous Youma were was to face them head on. Casualties were a real risk, but students couldn't be coddled forever: they were the only ones that could effectively fight Youma, and no one was going to hold their hand when they were actually sent hunting.

Samantha nodded to herself, the resolute action ruined somewhat by the nervous tick in her steps. No matter how she felt about it, this was the reality she was going to have to face. Even if her heart was beating like a nervous rabbit's, she was going to have to square her shoulders and get to work.

…That being said, her un-eager steps made her almost ten minutes late to the courtyard.

Samantha peeked around the corner of the dorm's front door, only just making out the silhouettes of three students and one teacher in the academy's main courtyard. Pulling herself back, Samantha forced a breath in through her nose and out through her mouth.

"You made yourself look like an ass on the first day, Samantha," the girl said to herself as she rolled her shoulders and neck. "Try and not screw up now."

Drawing on hours of accumulated experience attending high end parties, Samantha adopted a clam and neutral expression as she pushed her way outside and approached the group assembled by the courtyard water fountain. Folding her hands into her lap, Samantha bowed at the waist when she stood before her teacher.

"Miss Shizuka, I apologize for my tardiness. I hope I didn't delay you too much."

Cynthia Einfeld - Mission One - Mint Team - Greenhouse

What the sweater hid from them all, was the fact that Cynthia's fingers were fidgeting just the slightest. She had the habit of pressing her fingertips to the nail of her thumb, pressing just hard enough for the nail to actually hurt the digit before moving quickly on. She was not a restless or anxious by any means, but it served as a way to anchor her thoughts, to keep herself from thinking astray. She was prone to do so when there was an abundance of silence, and a lack of a focal point to trouble herself over.

However, the fact that she felt that it was appropriate to start centering her thoughts and attention meant that the time for inaction and indecision was drawing close. While most people enjoyed the break from the academy for the possibilities of addressing social concerns or advancing in things that weren't academic or magical girl related - Cynthia had taken the time to completely switch off that side of her that demanded all of her focus, attention, priority and otherwise. Sure, she made sure to keep her physical training up, but small things like that didn't need for her to completely go all sparta over it, and it had elevated a great deal of mental stress from her that she never actually noticed during that particular year of studying.

She couldn't help but to wonder if the trade for her unforgiving focus for a healthier mentality would pay off on this excursion though. There were just too many variables to consider, and all the ones concerning her own capabilities were not helping her worries either. Before she could contemplate further, everyone that was supposed to be there had arrived.

--

"Any questions?"

A deceptively eerie calm seemed to settle in the greenhouse, save for the end sniffles that indicated Shirakawa's losing fight against her allergies. Cynthia took a moment to appraise those who were present, having been a tad too polite to look away from the instructions and briefing to do so earlier. Judging based on the smallest tell-tales and words that were passed, Cynthia could only take the smallests guesses, though.

It was easy enough to glance at Carmen without seeming like she was outright staring, not that there was all too much to see. There wasn't anything she could glean from her body language, and remembering her early words, Cynthia filed Carmen away into … the stereotype, of someone who took things a little too lightly. 'Eager,' she told herself, recognizing a certain glint in the other's eye, 'or arrogant?' she couldn't help but to wonder genuinely.

Turning her eye over onto the smaller girl at a distance, Alecia, Cynthia caught her eye. She didn't find a reason to turn her gaze away though. There was no need to be polite about the measuring of others should those involved be aware of it, it was likely more polite to welcome such a judging gaze and return it all the same - it was more of a proper greeting than anything else, even amongst teammates. It gave room for respect to take roost.

Though, from the gaze of Alecia it would seem that there was none to be found in her judgement of … Cynthia herself? Shirakawa? The team? It was hard to tell, but Cynthia quickly flashed back to what she remembered of the short girl's entrance was like.

'Head up, rigid - no, disciplined. Her voice, not haughty, or confident ... efficient, competent. Moodier than me though. The distance she created, it's as if a bird is hunting,' Cynthia paused, Alecia was … one of a kind, she couldn't relate her to anything - anyone - she's met thus far. 'A bird then, for that nasty squint you've been tossing around' she decided, shifting so that she could lean back against the bench a little more comfortably, tilting her head, she tossed the short girl a few paces away, a lazy wink.

Turning back to Shirakawa, Cynthia gave a soft cough, clearing her throat quickly before beginning, whatever streak of mischievous intent that may have been found blurred off into inexistence, "Do we have an exact time frame of the disappearances? They may have followed lights, which suggest the time of incident taking place at least during evenings, but a forest big and deep enough can be dark enough to drown out any source of natural lighting," she inquired, pondering. "How about an age range, or genders of the missing people? The towns then? The forest isn't only immediately accessible to only one town, are we looking at missing people from multiple towns or just the one?"

Well, Cynthia mused after her line of questioning, looks like I haven't lost anything up here just yet.

Charee Moreau - Pink Group - Orchards.

An abandoned hospital didn't seem too bad a place to be doing their first mission. Charee worried she would become too comfortable or get distracted from the mission at other locations, but the eerie atmosphere of an abandoned hospital would help her stay alert. Plus Charee wasn't scared of ghosts or hospitals, so there were no problems with the whereabouts of the mission for Charee... well, no major problems. If the hospital was abandoned then it was likely to be dirty, much to Charee's annoyance. She wouldn't let her desire to keep clean hold her back, but Charee would prefer a mission where she wasn't likely to get covered in cobwebs. Still, magical girl trainees could hardly be choosers. At least it was only her school uniform which would get dirty, rather than any of her cute dresses.

Everyone had begun to introduce themselves, to Charee's relief; she agreed with Mina's sentiment that they should get to know one another if they were to be fighting together from now on. Once Ava was finished with her oh-so-modest introduction Charee cleared her throat in an attempt to get everyone's attention. Blushing slightly, Charee began to introduce herself.

"My name's Charee Moreau, a-and I really hope I won't be failing at this. I guess I'm good at support, since I can slow down enemies and have some healing capabilities, so I'll make sure to help you all as much as possible! I-I can also do some decent ranged attacks though... um, th-that's it, no questions."

Suzu Shirakawa (NPC) - The Greenhouse

"Good questions, Cynthia," Miss Shirakawa replied, deliberately repeating the name yet again, as if to further keep track of who was whom on her team. She would have expected something more like whining about the location or needing to go it alone, and was somewhat surprised by the sort of questions. She could dismiss such things as irrelevant or unnecessary, but it wasn't in her nature to do so. "Let me see what we've got," she said as she skimmed over the information available.

"Most of the reports seem to be for the evening or early morning hours, although one seems to be more in the late afternoon. Detailed information on the victims has yet to be provided to us, so I can't actually tell you much there. What I do have doesn't seem to suggest any pattern in either age nor gender, beyond a preference for the very young or old." She paused to consider the information. "If it is a youma responsible, it may be following a predatory instinct and targeting easy prey."

"The incident is primarily centered on one town, although the wilderness nearby is quite large. I'd say that if it is a youma, it's remaining in a small territory, rather than ranging across an entire area. This is good for us, as it should be easier to find. You also have good chances of luring it out, but this isn't quite as convenient as one confined to a single building."
