HISTORY
Dodger's parents were both quite young when they fell in love with one another, and despite a short relationship and the disapproval of his mother's family, the two eloped. Although she was essentially disowned by her family, the two were happy together and were happier when Dodger joined their small family, despite it being an unplanned pregnancy. From a young age, Dodger displayed a distaste for being categorized femininely and both of his parents were supportive of Dodger expressing himself in whatever way he preferred, which eventually extended to his social transition, followed by physical transitioning in his teens.

While both of his parents were supportive of him, the relationship between the two soured over the years. There were a multitude of reasons, not the least of which was marrying young, but the greatest factor was the way Dodger's mother grew to resent "marrying down" into the Scott family. A disappointment furthered by Dodger's closer relationship with his father and the small Scott family as a whole. And even though she agreed that learning lightning magic was the better choice, she was bitter about it. The divide between them worsened when Dodger's mother reconnected with her family shortly thereafter. By the time Dodger was 13, his parents were all but divorced.

Dodger inherited a love of magic, history, and learning from his father, and the two spent much of their days studying together for long hours. Dodger also spent a lot of his time travelling around with either of his parents, as both were fond of globe-trotting, although each for separate reasons. These trips were almost exclusively with one parent at a time, and Dodger always enjoyed the ones with his father more, as the ones with his mother were usually social trips.

When Dodger was 20, the Scott family expanded when Eliphas Scott adopted Simon, however, it returned to its previous number only two years later when Dodger's father died in an accident. Dodger continued the rest of his magical training with Eliphas, where he was studied alongside his young cousin. Despite his grieving, Dodger greatly enjoyed having someone to study with and was happy to help his younger cousin when asked.

Not long after mastering lightning magic, Dodger started to learn spirit magic from his mother, which he was eager to learn. However, their relationship was not as good as it had once been and despite his enthusiasm it was not the day-to-day learning Dodger had spent on his lightning magic or other studies, especially as she continued to take social trips he no longer went on. Dodger took his own trips, as well, travelling to places of magical significance or with unique histories in pursuit of his interests. An academic at heart, he decided to take up teaching, primarily as a private or substitute teacher.

HISTORY
Born as one of many among the Fisher family, Juliette was the younger sister of Edmund Fisher. Although her upbringing did her no favours, she was always an odd child with a dispassionate nature. She rarely smiled or cried and proved adept at displaying social courtesy despite a standoffish demeanour. The lack of time her parents spent with her and the non-existent emotional connection certainly did not help her detachment issues. Juliette was also something of a terror, with a long list of childhood victims, tempered only by her brother's presence.

However, her lack of enthusiasm proved beneficial when it concerned artistry. That lack of passion made it easy for her to pick what she was best at and focus on that — especially as a large part of her artistic drive involved outshining others. Primarily her attention turned to sculpting and music, but she dabbled in a variety of other arts as well. Fixated upon her family's reputation and success, Juliette was unwilling to disappoint and worked diligently to succeed in those areas. Nevertheless, she was plagued by constant internal dissatisfaction and often attempted to find stimulation despite the difficulty with which it came to her.

HISTORY
Vivian's father is the Mayor of Julian City, Saskatchewan and her mother, Caroline, was the hybrid granddaughter of Julian Blacke. Their marriage was not one of love, but an arranged one of convenience — both to keep Caroline far from the Black City and to marry her back into a Vampir family. Vivian's father was enthused to be marrying a member of the royal family, and despite the arrangement of their marriage, the two were happy together. Vivian was the only child of her parent's union, however, she had two half-brothers from her father's first marriage, both of whom were significantly older than her.

Vivian was adored by her family, and especially spoiled by her father. Most things she wanted, she got. Although, her desires were rarely unreasonable for someone of her status. However, the effects of her muddied heritage, as well as the realities many of her relatives lived, were inescapable to her even at a young age. In her 20s she got involved in activism for the betterment of hybrids, fae, and merfolk while earning her art degree. In her 30s, after completing her degree, she doubled down on her philanthropic efforts, creating her own organization. It was around that time that she moved to Black City, although she also maintained a home in Julian City, which she frequently visits.

HISTORY
Sephaniel was born in Manchester, England, Neu Kingdom as the nephew of the at-the-time reigning king. Despite the age gap, Sephaniel had a close relationship with his uncle, which persisted until the older man's eventual death. The impressiveness of his family was not limited to their royal lineage, as both of his parents were successful. His mother was the owner of an esteemed opera theatre, while his father served as a military advisor and general to the king. Sephaniel spent his youth studying a variety of topics, including language, history, and politics.

He visited Cervia for the first time as a young adult, on account of a relative's marriage to a member of the Blacke family. He made several trips in successive years and at 52, he returned again to serve as an official ambassador from Neu Kingdom. He retained this position for nearly three decades — and it was during that time he met and married a Cervian Noblewoman. The already private man further retreated from the spotlight to prevent too much attention from falling on them, however, the two were quite happy for some time. Unfortunately, their relationship met a messy end when his wife died.

Devastated, Sephaniel and his daughter returned to permanent residence in Manchester, where his mental health steadily improved in his home country surrounded by his family. Furthermore, he bonded with his youngest cousin — the future Queen of Neu Kingdom, and became a mentor figure to her, especially as her father experienced declining health. This continued after the death of her father, leaving her to inherit the throne at an exceptionally young age. Sephaniel served as an advisor and avid supporter of her in her early reign. He maintained this position for almost two decades before eventually returning to Cervia to serve as Ambassador once again, a position he has been in for eight years now.

HISTORY
The fifth of Callista Blacke's children, Leclair had a lot of competition for attention and achievement. Even had been a prodigy, the family already had two of those, one being their only daughter who directly preceded Leclair. Nothing Leclair could do was ever quite perfect enough, as one of his older siblings had always done it better. An exception to the lack of attention Leclair had among his family was his older brother, Emile, who became one of the young Blacke's few true connections.

Leclair developed attention-seeking misbehaviour and took to living fast. He'd intentionally make poor in hope that failing hard enough would gain him the recognition he wanted. Eventually, this became his personality. He picks up jobs, hobbies, and "friends" as quickly as he drops them. He flips between wanting to live up to that perfectionist status set by his elder siblings and acting out. Because of his willingness to flaunt his status as a Blacke he doesn't trust the intentions of anyone.

HISTORY
Stella Altair was born in Oria, Texas. Her mother was a bright woman who did not believe in Altair's secrecy, which left an impression on the girl, even though her mother died when Stella was still quite young. Her death left Stella's father in a deep depression, and the young girl was largely cared for by her older brother, Percy. She grew very attached to him, more so than her father or than she had been with her mother. It was four years after her mother's death that her father remarried — and that he improved from the death of his first wife.

When Stella was 13, Percy ran away, leaving her nothing but a note. The girl was furious. She had a good relationship with both her father and stepmother (and her father had been influencing her toward traditional stellar secrecy) but Percy was the family member she was closest with. She had no way of contacting him, and it devastated her for a while. He did contact her eventually, but she remained quite angry for some time, although the two are on good terms now and visit regularly now that they are both in Black City. When Stella wanted to attend Blackwell Academy but lacked the funds, Percy paid her way in. She is currently a student there while working as a barista and occasionally streaming online.

HISTORY
At the age of six, Kaia was adopted by a trio of merfolk. Although she was older than her sister, she was the second to be adopted, and being older made it harder for her to adapt to the new environment. However, her moms were caring and supportive and the girl eventually grew to thrive in her new household despite the haunting presence of her previous life and the fire that took her parents. But her days passed in relative happiness, although she displayed more troubled behaviour in her teens.

Part of that behaviour was her penchant to fall in love hard and fast with few breaks between partners. By the time she reached adulthood, she left a trail of bad relationships behind her. Her habit carried over into adulthood as well, although her routine changed when she met a wealthy talented man who she fell head-over-heels for, a returned sentiment. He was on vacation to Aeaea and after only a month he convinced her to move back to the Black City with him. Despite her moms strongly cautioning against it, Kaia eagerly left her home behind.

Kaia enjoyed the glamour of the relationship as the older man indulged her and showered her with gifts. However, as with her previous relationships, things turned negative. Differences and annoyances surfaced, and the two started to argue a lot, especially after he cheated on her. The fighting got bad enough that he decided she was no longer fun and kicked her out.

Ditched in the city with no support or money, Kaia didn't want to admit exactly what her moms warned her about had happened, so she refused to ask for their assistance. Instead, she took any entry job she could find — and took on the company of other rich men (or women) who desired the company of a young woman to dote on them. But Kaia refuses to rely on wealthy patrons for her income and got a job at Just Desserts as well.

HISTORY
Vivika's parents were originally from Wales in Neu Kingdom, however, they fled to Merrow in Cervia in an attempt to find somewhere they could live together as an interspecies couple. They were met with mixed success, as there were many other troubles to be found in their new home. Not the least of which was that as a minimally successful folk duo, they had left behind their audience. But music was their passion, so they continued to record and play, although they worked traditional jobs as well.

Only a couple of years after arriving in Merrow, the two were joined by their only child, Vivika. Vivika was an adventurous and spirited child, she was always up to one brand of mischief or another. Music was often used as a tactic to prevent her from getting into too much trouble, which worked well, as Vivika inherited her parents' passion. The Rhys house was always full of music, as much as it was with tales of grandeur.

Along with her wanderlust, Vivika had a strong sense of justice. She was incensed by the mistreatment of those around her. Her rage culminated when she saw a fae under assault. Vivika attacked, leaving the attacker severely injured. Without any aid, he died from his injuries, as she learned later through a news report. It was not traced to her, nevertheless, she thought it was a good idea to leave Nunavut behind. It was not the only time Vivika resorted to vigilantism to dish out comeuppance in cases where nothing was done.

Instruments in hand, accompanied by both troubled thoughts and a sense of righteousness, she took to exploring the world. She played music whenever she could, but mostly worked odd jobs to get by. Age tempered her recklessness, as did many of the experiences she had while travelling. Already a wanderer, she was quick to join up with the travelling circus when she found it, offering her services as both a musician and stagehand.

HISTORY
Cordero was born as the second son of Count Aurelio Coverly, the head of the small but prestigious Coverly family. More than prestige, however, the Coverlys had money. Aurelio inherited a vast sum of wealth from his own father, but he more than doubled it through successful ventures in real estate and moneylending. Aurelio's family prospered as a result. Both Cordero and his older brother, Amaro, grew up spoilt and wanting for nothing. Nothing physical, at least.

Despite having a knack for numbers, Cordero was born as a silverblood vampire in a redblood family which cast a shadow over his familial relationships, especially his relationship with his father who favoured his older son. Cordero was taught to keep his secret from as young an age as he can remember, and it was a secret that weighed heavily on him. He had to work twice as hard to get half as much attention from his father, leaving Cordero with something to prove.

Aurelio died when Cordero was still relatively young, and he left the majority of wealth and businesses to Amaro. Unfortunately for the Coverlys, Amaro was not good with money. He burned through what had once seemed like infinite wealth through frivolous spending, terrible business decisions, and an excessive gambling habit. Habits that left Amaro caught up with dangerous people, particularly the Coven. After a series of bad money-lending deals, Cordero had to use a portion of his inheritance to bail his brother out. But it led to him becoming enchanted with the Coven, partially for the thrill and opportunity, and partially to spite his brother.

The relationship between Jax's fae mother and his vampire father was an abusive one. It was one before he was born, and it remained one after, nevertheless, his mother remained with the man despite everything. The abuse lasted several years before his mother was able to escape the relationship. She had reconnected with an ex of hers who had helped to give her that final push. Jax's mother had found herself and her son in a far better environment away from his father. The trio (Jax, his mother, and her rekindled partner) moved to Black City where the fae-inclined hybrid passed as the couple's child. He found himself far happier surrounded by greenery.

But while their lives improved, Jax's father festered in rage. He spent most of his time trying to track them down. And when he did, he killed both Jax's mother and his stepfather before kidnapping Jax. The two remained in hiding for around a year before being found, after which his father was arrested and Jax was placed in the care of his step-grandfather, who was less than thrilled about it, but felt it was his duty. He did his job, but his ailing health made it difficult. The burden of care quickly shifted, and much like his grandfather had felt it was his duty, Jax felt he needed to care for the both of them. While working several menial jobs, he was approached by an older man, suggesting Jax trade himself for a large financial sum. Jax agreed. He developed a close relationship with both the man and his wife, which lasted several years. The wealthy couple further directed him in the direction of other clients.

Eventually, things ended with a whimper as Jax grew up, and the couple found someone new to fixate upon. Having grown accustomed to that lifestyle, Jax remained a prostitute.

HISTORY
Born prematurely, Milo was born the first child of a prominent magi businessman and the grandson of the at-the-time magi commissioner of Rockaster. Because of his early birth, his early life was plagued with health problems. He required a lot of special care, but Milo pulled through infancy only to face further difficulties in childhood. He was particularly prone to infections, especially ear infections, and developed numerous allergies. Both of his parents, but especially his mother, shielded him from the world. And due to their wealth and comfort, it was not hard to keep him away from the world. Milo grew up with a silver spoon and next to no friends for the first few years of his life. What he did have were books. And the young boy loved to lose himself in those.

When he was six, the first of his younger sisters were born. Her birth was uncomplicated and healthy. Milo resented her for the opportunities it provided her. She never had to deal with medical procedures, medications, or extended bed rest. She also got to go out into the world without their parents hovering over her. At eight, Milo got a second younger sister, who had no extraneous health issues. The boy tried to ignore his jealousy by immersing himself in stories of history, or his magical studies, as that was one area his sisters were no better than him. While he outgrew some of his ailments and some lessened with age, he was still treated like glass by his family around him. He had to argue quite fervently to convince his parents to send him to Blackwell Academy.

HISTORY
Kaius was born into a large family, the second youngest of seven, as the son of a successful film actress. She was a rather cold woman who wasn't overly fond of children, and many questioned her decision to have so many. She only ever responded to this with a withering stare. Despite her lack of fondness for her children, she provided well for them, and they wanted for nothing material, and for their other needs, she provided the children with nannies. Furthermore, the older children helped to look out for the younger ones.

Even from a young age, Kaius displayed troubling behaviour. He acted out, started fights, and pulled the wings off of bugs. And whenever he'd get hurt, he was more intrigued than upset. His fascination with injuries was not limited to his own, as was evident whenever anyone around him received a wound. His behaviour worsened in his tween, and he earned many reprimands and suspensions from school, including one expulsion.

Kaius enlisted almost as soon as he was old enough, partially out of the urging of his mother and partially out of a desire to satisfy his own ambitions. In the military, Kaius developed a fixation on the royal family, specifically on Queen Lillith. His fascination provided him with a direction he hadn't had before. HISTORY
While Judah's father was from Ranne, his mother originated in Sayby Falls, Cervia. It was a wild romance, and she moved to be with him not long after meeting him. Judah's parents were ranchers, and he spent the first half of his childhood living a rural life. However, his parents struggled to make ends meet and eventually, they sold their house and moved to the city, where Judah had trouble adjusting. They still struggled financially, so Judah started working odd jobs as soon as he was able.

In his teens, his mother was killed in a robbery gone amiss, and her death only served to strengthen the divide between Judah and his father. When he was eighteen, he decided to split, leaving home to go and see the world. He continued to work odd jobs and used whatever he got to carry him to the next place. It was a rough way of living, but he found it worthwhile. Judah occasionally met someone he tried to settle down with, but it never worked out.

That changed when he met Tanya while working at a farm. The two grew close together over time and eventually became a couple. Unfortunately, their relationship as an interspecies couple earned them hate, which escalated one day when Judah lashed out at some hecklers who then became violent. He was significantly injured in the attack and the two decided to move elsewhere. It was there that they met Kamil and Santiago. The two couples eventually ended up together, and the four of them went on to form Warmeblly Kitchen in Belbridge.

Antonia King was a cruel and cold woman with a fascination for black magic and the dark corners of the arcane. She particularly enjoyed hexes and curses did many immoral things in pursuit of her knowledge. She did her best to impart this fascination on her son, Godric. He mimicked her passions as best a child could. She was not alone in her studies and had cohorts with whom she practised her experiments and curses. Together they caused a great deal of harm both directly and indirectly, often for their own interest but other times as a service to others. Godric watched them ruin innumerable lives — and he was no exception to their cruelties often serving an uncomfortable role in their rituals.

In his late teens one such ritual pushed Godric over the edge when one of his friends became a victim of their dark practises. He'd had enough and confronted his mother. It was an intense exchange which left his mother blind and deaf at Godric's magic. Godric made an attempt at confronting the other members of Antonia's little collective to mixed results. Following his largely failed confrontation, Godric struck out from Oria. He remained on his own for several years before coming in contact with a darkness magi who became his mentor, both helping him to master out his magic and enroll in college. Godric graduated with a Magical Studies degree and took a position as an archivist in Merrow not long after.
