Dream/Life

Emma sighed happily, glad that Connie wasn't trying to deny it anymore, her own feelings that it was just a mad delusion were all but shattered at this point.
And she could guess what she was thinking of, she somewhat knew of the relationship between her and the royals.
Emma also emphasized with not wanting to seem mad to other people.
"I know... I was pretty scared of the same thing honestly... And I have no idea why it's connected... But maybe we just talk about it in private?... You can be sure I'll not think you mad".

Before Connie could answer the bell to end class rang and Emma wheeled herself out, they wouldn't see each other again that day.
The next day however Emma actually waited for her near the entrance, a risky move indeed as she was hardly popular herself.

Somehow that response earned another smile from Mike, who probably mistook it for modesty or something...
Mike would spend the rest of the period playing some game on his phone, which was notably cracked and dented, with what looked like the faintest scratched off pink on the case.
Mike wasn't poor, but his phone tended to take a beating, only half of which was his own fault, unless you listened to bullies, they liked to tell him beatings were his own fault.

He didn't say Much more till the bell rang, he had a doctor's appointment and would be leaving early.
"Umm... Thanks for letting me hide up here... I felt safe... A...anyway, I'll wait for you near the fence... If you wanna meet up tomorrow that is!"
With that he ran off, and would in fact be surrounded by three bullies the next morning, right where he had promised to meet up with Mason.
"Yo princess fag... Where's your boyfriend today huh? You fuck him too hard last night?".
Mike was silent, face bright red.

Suppose talking to someone in private about the realistic dream wouldn't be too bad. After all, it was just the two of them that seemed to share this dream. Connie was about to agree when the ringing of the school bell made her jump slightly; right in class. Though Connie didn't move to many rooms the rest of the day, and usually went between the two different rooms across the hall. The school did not like the idea of her going too far in he school, even with Red at her side to guide her.
She didn't see Emma after that, and figured it was cause she had her own classes to get to. Yet the next day, Connie was just glad that those cunts weren't there to give their early morning greeting. It was nothing she needed today as Connie had gotten horrible sleep and nightmares all night instead of the peaceful world that normally came to her. So, the red-head was a bit more temperamental than normal that day. Could tell so as Red more tugged her along rather than her walking, as she knew the way to the front.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mason didn't mine the silence at all. He was reading his book for the whole time, and actually like the company? Granted they weren't talking or anything, but just having another person nearby was very nice. Then he looked away from his novel to hear Mike speak of leaving for the day, and then awkwardly offering to meet up the next day. Now, Mason would normally just shrug and go back to what he was doing, and then not do that thing the next day. Because being social was taxing, lame and often people where annoying to say the least.
Yet when Mason walked up to the gate from his walk from the car, parked a few streets down and where he slept, he gave a small sigh. The unholy decision was made to infact meet up with Mike, because the kid looked like he could use a friend. And Mason didn't mind company as long as it wasn't too much talking. Though, as per the usual shitstorm, there was at least three bullies having cornered Mike. The comments he couldn't hear from where he had walked in, but knew damn well it was something you'd get from a Xbox360 voice chat. So nothing remotely creative. And it was one thing for himself, but Mike never hurt anybody and was the last person to deserve torment.
"Hey, speaking of boyfriends, heard you were banging him last night," Mason spoke to the main bully, and gestured to his pal right next to him, "And honestly, you should really think of more creative insults than something I hear from 12 years old on Xbox. And they don't even speak full English," That was probably the most Mason has ever spoken to another person.

Connie of course wasn't going to simply be allowed to walk into school after what had happened the previous morning, and was quickly approached by the same girls as yesterday, though the girl who had died her hair was absent from the group, it seemed it didn't take much to fall from grace.
"Hey Bat! Bet you feel real good about yourself after yesterday... Running away like that..."
Of course it was them that ran away but mentioning that wouldn't help.
"We're so sorry we could do your makeup yesterday... But we have way more mark... Err, makeup today!"
Before they could open the markers however they were interrupted.
"Wow... You're all grouping around a girl while Richard Jones is wandering around single... Guess you're all lessies after all..."
It was Emma's voice! She had of course lied though, Richard was the head of the football team, and very much not single... Still, the girls were distracted easily enough and after stopping just long enough to knock her chair over, ran off, only one of them seeming to delay for a moment.
"Ouch... That hurt a bit..."

As usual Mason's words were met by a punch, to the gut this time.
"What's that faggot? You like it rough huh? Well why don't we help with that... You won't get any lucky hits in this time!"
Okay this might be bad, the jocks were moving to surround him, looking incredibly pissed off, and if anything Mike looked MORE scared than before, although... The bullies had their backs to him... Before they could do anything else he mumbled something about a 'seal' and a dull, blurry barrier seemed to form in front of him for just a second as he pushed one of them, knocking him right into another and causing them to fall in a heap.
"I...if anyone's gay I...it's you two!"
Mike declared, before running away as people started to look.

Spoke much too soon it seemed, and Connie just gave an annoyed growl. She was in no mood to argue or deal with this nonsense, and had half the mind to lay into these barbies. Though before she could even utter a noise, Emma comes in. Though she is unsure of the entire situation, she did hear the distraction and the blondes scurry off to who knows where. Connie gave a small sigh and ran a hand through her tangled curls, "They just never know when to quit. Just that desperate to make up for the self-hatred they have for themselves," She muttered and then gave a small hello to Emma afterwards.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The punch was definitely seen coming, and Mason refused to fall to the ground. He didn't honestly care when he felt them surround him as it was just a game of boring them. Though he wasn't entirely sure what was going on at that time. Mike shoving them into a heap, and then running off. Mason was no idiot, so he just took off back towards the main doors. Giving a confused look and just sort of brushed it off as Mike getting some balls. Good, maybe now he could stand up for himself.

Emma managed to right her chair again and pull herself back into it, idly brushing dirt from her clothes and face as she listened to Connie.
"It's kind of sad... I hope they mature and gain some self confidence in the future..."
She suddenly felt a little sickened.
"I Can't believe I used homosexuality as an insult... Please hit me if I do that again?"
She requested, and didn't appear to even be joking.

"So... Will you be in the usual room for classes? If so I might be able to visit you again... And if I really make my teacher feel bad I could even join you for classes officially."
She offered.

The guy who hit him honestly wasn't that great a puncher anyway, it hurt of course, but not like some of the other hits he had experienced, so staying up was easy.
Mike went right to the library to hide, he hated dropping to the level of bullies... And on top of it, he had used something from his dreams... He was sure it was just a stress induced delusion, but it felt so real!
Fortunately he was soon able to calm down, hiding in a corner with random book, it wasn't comfortable, but at least he wasn't bothered often.

Connie just gave a slight chuckle and rubbed at an eye, suppose she could hold up to that promise. Though it was the best to get them away even if it was terrible. Though when Emma suggested being put into her class, Connie wanted to decline really. She enjoyed studying alone so it was easier for her to focus on the books as braille wasn't easy to ready. Though, the visiting wouldn't be harmful to sway the least. The red-head gave an unsure look before answering:
"Well I usually only stay in two class rooms across from each other since I'm a falling risk on stairs even with Red. I wouldn't mind you visiting me, but I feel youre much too smart to be put in with a teacher who is meant to teach hearing impaired or blind students," Connie didn't want to sound like she was turning down her friendship, cause she did want to be friends with Emma. Yet, her schoolwork was also important for Connie to get into any college. As blindness wasn't really wanted in any nice college. Heh, thinking about normal everyday things when all hell is seeping into it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as Mason calmed himself enough from running, he gave a begrudging scowl. Suppose he should go find Mike to make sure he was alright and not melting into a puddle some where. Pushing aside his black hair, he hadn't styled it this morning, and went ahead to search for the small boy. Shouldn't be too hard as he would most likely hide some where that the dicks couldn't find him. Also from the direction he had took off in suggested some where near the computer labs. Maybe the library that sat at the end of that hallway? Might as well, and the library was fairly empty as it was just the start of the day.
" Mike? You in here?" Mason called, and tried to keep his voice down. Libraries were places of sanctuary for Mason, and he had quiet a big deal of respect for them.

"Heh, I may act smart but you should see my math results!"
She half joked, not seeming offended in the slightest that her offer was rejected.
She could also understand where she was coming from, well sort of, Emma's disability was the kind they let in on disability quotas while Connie was, to put it bluntly, a liability in many people's eyes.
"Well, we don't need to share classes to be friends, or talk about our... Mutual interests, speaking of which, I had a rather interesting dream last night... It seemed the princess wanted Rheya to put together some sort of team... It seemed fun".

When Mason called out for Mike the librarian put a finger to her lips and then pointed over to a corner, normally she would not point someone in the direction of a bullied child who sought sanctuary, but Mason was hardly a bully...
Mason would find Mike laying on a beanbag, legs curled under him and hugging a cushion as he read a book of fairy tales of all things, he didn't seem to notice Mason, apparently too focused on the book, he seemed calmer at least.

Connie was glad that Emma didn't seem upset at her rejection and agreed they could still be friends. As she was sure they had many more interests in common than that of the dream world. Though of course Emma brought up the knight in her dream and she rubbed her temple. Just the thought of that world made her head hurt from all the nightmares she had. "I see, a team for what exactly?" she replied back with and then sighed, "I had so many nightmares last night I barely slept and never entered Angi,"

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Mason looked to the librarian and gave her a silent thank you. Heading over to the corner of chairs and tables, spotting Mike curled up. He gave a small sigh and walked towards him. Seeing the book of fairytales laid out in front of him, did this kid really still believe in this rewritten crap? Though he didn't speak, Mason did sit down on the ground beside the beanbag chair. Taking out his slider phone and seemed to write something until the other would finish reading; not wanting to interrupt.

"I'm not sure, the dream ended too early, it was probably for some epic quest or something... I wish I was Rheya..."
She admitted with a sigh, before sending a worried look towards Connie.
"Nightmares?... They suck... Are you okay? Wanna talk about them?".
She herself still had nightmares about the accident, but was used to them for the most part, and wondered what other than bullying might be affecting her new friend that badly, unless of course it was the bullying.

It didn't seem Mike would stop anytime soon, and actually spent more time looking at the gorgeous illustrations than reading.
After a few minutes though he suddenly let out a very audible squeaky sneeze, looking around to see who'd noticed he finally saw Mason.
"Whoah! Uhh... When did you get here?..."
He asked in confusion, clearly having been dead to the world.
"Umm, thanks again by the way... You didn't have to help me back there..."
There he went with that borderline hero worship stuff again, eyes glinting though that was likely from leftover tears.

She was sure they both wanted to be their dream-selves, but right now or maybe never that wasn't a possibility. Though when she asked about her nightmares, Connie stiffened slightly and became slightly agitated, "I'll be alright, and I will only say this about them; it was like the dreamworld but everything was opposite. Like hell had broken loose and continued to kill people for the rest of this lives," Then the red-head went to start walking towards the school. Her more tempered side coming through, not on purpose, and she just wanted to get the day over with. Part of her wanted to stay home today just to sleep, but that wasn't possible alone.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Mason had no issue with letting Mike be away from the world. Whatever it was he liked to do after a round with the bullies. Also, again, he liked just sitting in Mikes' company while doing his own thing. Even to the point of taking out his book to start reading it until Mike sneeze, and he uttered a soft 'bless you' and looked at the other.
"Been here a few minutes after you came in," Mason replied with a small shrug and waved him off, "Also, don't thank me or give me that puppy dog look either. You'd do the same for anyone else and plus, I thought they learned their lesson yesterday," Seems he would never accept a hero role nor admit to actually caring for another person. Being closed off was a way to protect the truth from coming out.

"Ahh... That sounds... Terrible, I'll shut up now".
She replied, not wanting to dredge up anything too traumatic, at least not before Connie was ready to talk about it, she did have something that could sort of help.
"Hey... If you wanted to get a quick nap in at some point, I know a few quiet spots and can keep watch".
She wanted to say guard her... But she wasn't exactly capable of fighting anyone off if they decided to mess with them.
"If you don't want to that's cool too though, so don't feel pressured".

"Oh... Wow that's embarrassing..."
He went a bright pink colour, avoiding looking right into Mason's eyes.
"I don't usually get so focused on reading at school... I'm glad it was you that found me Ly... Uhh, Mason... Sorry, I was umm, thinking of someone else..."
He squeaked.
"And... I dunno if I would honestly... I'm more likely to run away..."

"You're sweet. Em, but I don't feel safe napping at school. Who knows who will mess with me, and neither of us can defend ourselves," Connie pointed out to the other, "And I'm sorry if I seem angry or annoyed today, lack of sleep makes me pissy," Also the amount of betrayals she saw in her nightmares from people she never knew. People from the dream world that fought until their gruesome death or laid crumpled on the floor. She quickly shook her head and rubbed her temple, best not to think about it, "So, you said you wanted to talk more about the dreams?"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mason looked at him as he rambled on, and raised a slight eyebrow but dismissed the mistake of his name. Lycan was something he had avoided last night and planned to for a while. That strength the other day was terrifying and he never wanted that to happen again, "You're welcome, and theres no shame it liking picture books or reading in general. Keeps the mind strong," he replied and shook his head, "I mean that is something to defend yourself with, and you could hide in places they could never reach you in,"

Emma sighed a little sadly, though was internally happy to have a friend give her a nickname even if it was just an abbreviation of her name, she couldn't even remember the last friend that would use anything but her name in fact...
"No no... I totally get it, good thing it's the weekend soon right? Plenty of time to hopefully sleep in..."
Emma didn't like to admit it, but sleeping was probably her favourite activity, and still would be even without the dreams, it was just so nice to doze off at night, or whenever really.
"Oh yeah! I mean, if you're up to it... I just figure since it's something we share, and probably unique too! How many other people have that going on?"
It was of course a rhetorical question.

"Yeah?... A lot of kids here seem to think anything that doesn't have porn, cars or sports in it isn't worth reading... Why do jocks spend so long looking at sweaty, muscly men anyway?.... I mean I see the appeal but..."
He seemed to realize what he said, went from pink to red and closed his mouth, clearing his throat before speaking again.
"A...anyway... I guess I am pretty small huh?"
Mike seemed oddly proud of the fact.

Connie gave a slight chuckle, yeah the weekend was always a joy. Wondering her house without Reds' help and enjoying some time to herself as her father usually left on weekends. "I am up to it, though I have no idea where to start as Agni has like no background or anything besides being a witch," she responded with a small shrug and slowed as they neared the schools' doors.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Because we live in a world where they can only like masculine things and aspire to be an addict to steroids like those sweaty men. Though I agree in the appeal part, but i'd rather not blow a muscle," Mason responded casually and gave a small shrug. He read plenty of novels and his favorite was Glass Tidings by Amy Jo Cousins (its' a real book and super awesome) and it was about an older man and another man he takes in. It was very adorable and hilarious, worth the read. Mason then shook his head at the other, "You are, bet you barely come to my chest," Though they have stood with eachother before, it was never close enough to judge height. Though standing at 5'11 and super skinny, Mason was small body wise.

"Yeah that could be difficult... I know a decent bit about Rheya though! She's brave and strong and loyal, and uhh, bisexual".
She said the last bit a little quieter as if gauging Connie's response to sexualities other than straight... Purely out of curiosity though!
Before anything else could be said the bell went and she had to head off to her own class, history at least was something she was good at! Of course she had to be super careful to bring in her homework without it being stolen or destroyed...

"Yeah... That's so sad... That this silly world cares about that..."
He idly played with his hair clip, as if reminded of it by the conversation.
Hearing that Mason agreed with the appeal slightly lowered the blush on Mike's face, last time he made that comment it was taken as confirmation of sexuality, and ended up hurting.
Mason himself read many books, he quite enjoyed one called Annex, and Being Emily... Though purely for the cute story.
"Heh... Mom says I'll probably have a growth spurt soon..."
That was not exactly a happy tone, and the bell went before her could elaborate.
"Oh! Class time..."
Mike himself would only have a half class at least since his science teacher had to leave early.

Connie gave a smile and was about to respond, but saved by the bell once again. As far as she could tell, Angi didnt have a preference. She fancied people based on their personality and attributes rather than if they had a dick or vagina. Guess that made her..ominous? Or another word that just couldnt be fathomed yet. She headed onto her way to her normal classroom for the time being to see what sort of books she would need from other rooms.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mason gave a smile and shook his head, this time an sorta real smile. Then stood as well as the bell rang, then softly ruffled Mikes' hair before he could head out, "You're fine just as you are, amoretto," Then headed out of the library to not exactly go to class. The dark-haired man instead headed for an empty classroom to read instead and catch up on some of his homework. At this point he wanted to just have online classes so he could do everything easier, but it was a far fetched idea.

Mike actually had to hide his face this time, he didn't know what Amoretto was but having his hair ruffled was an oddly enjoyable experience, and incredibly embarrassing, still, he eventually managed to get up, pat his hair mostly back into shape and head to class, moving to his usual spot near the front, his science teacher was one of the few who would stop bullying if it was right in front of him, and especially when it involved Mike after the first day where he had a potent acid poured on his hair... The bullies got off lightly though, as they genuinely didn't know how dangerous that was.
Mike himself kept his hair at it's current length because of that, but would really rather it be longer.
The class ended soon enough, with that lesson only being half length for him... And he was quickly intercepted.
"He queer... I don't know what you did this morning... But you're going down".
This sentence was enough to cause Mike to go into a sprint, rounding a corner and ducking into the first room he saw, breathing heavily.
Looking around he saw a girl he didn't know.
"Umm... Hi?..."
He greeted Connie nervously.

Emma sighed as she watched a group of bullies chase down her classmate, she wished she could help, but that wasn't going to happen, and after being held back a year after her accident, she didn't want to call any more attention to herself, instead she headed to the library, intending to so some self study... She had to keep her grades up after all!
There were several students there, but they mostly seemed to be messing around, not a great environment for study, so instead she grabbed a book and headed for one of the few unoccupied and unlocked rooms, only to find it in use.
"Oh! Uhh, hey, hope you don't mind me intruding... The library's full of idiots right now... Hey, aren't you the guy who punched out the quarter back?"

Connie had been quietly filling out a sheet of work, one hand reading the braille and the other with her pencil, and was peacefully unaware. Her classes didn't really change all that much and often multiple in one room. So, when she heard the door bang open and the scurrying of feet, she quickly stood up and clenched her pencil in her fist. Thinking it was one of the girls or maybe some kind of danger?
However, upon hearing someone greet her, confusion set into her film-covered gaze.
"Hello?" Was her uneasy response, and Red soon joined her side. He had a wider stance of protection due to Connies' behavior, "Why are you in here? You...aren't in my class," Connie tried to not make it obvious that she had no idea who this guy looked liked. He could be in here, but wouldn't she have been told?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He had his cheek propped up on his hand as he was now reading. Then the door opened and his icy blue hues fell onto a girl. Ah, her. He had seen her before, being that she was the only girl in school with a wheelchair. Though her name didn't come to mind right away and frankly it was unimportant. Mason pushed his hair aside again as he lifted his head from reading.
"I didn't punch him, I pushed him by my leg. Really hard," Mason corrected and gave a small shrug, "This school is full of idiots, so whats the surprise? No intrusion either. As long as youre quiet and don't bother me, I don't care what you do,"

Though Connie of course couldn't see his embarrassment at interrupting her work, she could certainly hear it in his soft, somewhat high pitched voice, as well as a little bit of panic.
"Uhh... B..boys... Chasing me... I had to hide... Please don't make me leave?..."
He begged, Mike hated pain and if he went outside and got caught, there'd be plenty of it coming his way... Suddenly he was distracted and... Excited?
"Oh! Cute doggie! I love doggies... Umm, can I pet him or is that a bad thing to do?..."

"Ahh... Sorry to tell you this, but the gossip mill's already going, people are convinced you took him out with a single punch to the jaw, either way you did something to him... Either way, nice job".
She rolled to a table and started reading the book she had brought, after a few minutes though something occurred to her.
"Didn't I see you hanging out with Michael earlier? Not many people are willing to give him the time of day..."

Connie started to become confused, so was this person a girl then? Whatever it was, she sounded afraid and well of course she wasn't going to make them leave. "No, I'm not going to make you leave, that wouldn't be very fair," She replied back and relaxed a bit. So this person was timid is seemed or well not a danger to her. Connie put her pencil down on the table and sat back down from when she shot up at the sound. Then answered, "Red? Yeah thats' fine, he isn't leading me right now," Normally if she was walking, it'd be a no, but she is safe and in a chair. So no harm really.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Mason could've guessed that much to say the least. Whatever, it didn't matter. As long as people knew he was starting to become a force to be reckoned with, no harm in a bent truth. There are worse ones out there anyway, right? "Uh, thanks I guess. Always nice to disturb the peace," was his response and sat back in his chair. Though at the mention of Mike, Mason glanced down and gave a slight shrug, "I mean, he follows me like a puppy, but he's a good guy and always makes for some weird conversations,"
