Dragon's Curse

Long ago dragons stood for power, respect, and honour. They were worshipped by humans for their wisdom and ability, feared at the same time for the might they wielded over life. In time this position brought arrogance and vanity, turning the dragons into terrible tyrants who abused their powers for their own gain. They found humanity beneath them, repulsive even, and started to make a hunt on their fragile lives. This went on for some time until a sorcerer tricked and cursed them all, turning the dragons into their own wicked toys; human. Stripped off their power and turned into a mortal being the dragons fled, hiding themselves from the wrath of humanity.
---
To break this curse a quest must be made. The sorcerer that had put them in this terrible state was needed to restore their original form. However, as time went by magic fell out of fashion and the sorcerer disappeared. The memory of the dragons faded and soon it was all but a myth passed on. The dragons learnt to adapt, some even forgot about their origins, but others never gave up.
---
A young dragonling has decided to embark on this quest to find the sorcerer. Never having forgotten the truth of their ancestry the dragon is determined to undo the curse of their people. However, when they finally find the sorcerer, or at least a descendant that shares the blood of the sorcerer, there is one more problem they face. Through the years, and out of practise the magic used so long ago has long been forgotten! A lack of conviction and talent for magic brings the dragon to another quest; to convince and teach the new sorcerer how to undo the curse.

Louelle Huang
Descendant of the Sorcerer | Female | Nineteen y/o

Once her mother had taught her that all magic happens within her heart and soul. If she fed something with enough dedication and passion it would grow into something great. That was her belief, that was her magic, her little secret to success. When entering school she would pour her full dedication into her studies, when she started to play the piano she did so with her whole heart. Everything she gave a little piece of herself, part of her heart and her soul. Even when making friends she tried her hardest, dedicating all of her attention and both her ears, because people like to speak.

However, little Louelle didn't understand that this magic needed to be fed. That it would once run out and then she wouldn't know what to do. She would play the wrong tune, forget about important notes and skim her studies. She would even start to lose her friends! It wasn't something she expected to happen. Not now, not ever. However, when it did it loomed over like a big dark fuzzy monster. Ugly and heavy, as if trying to smother her in its embrace. The little bubble of magic her mother spoke of was suddenly popped and the world felt hard and cold.

What remains of that girl isn't much. Still as hardworking as ever she still tries to make the magic happen, but now knows that it isn't really magic. She is more focused now, refusing to let herself be distracted from her path. Once she would have jumped up at every new experience and new chance offered. Now, Louelle considers everything carefully, weighing out what benefits and advantages there are for her. She knows that she doesn't hold that much magic anymore.

Andrew Mavlin
Dragonling | Male | 21

Since his birth, Andrew has heard tales of his ancestry. How his people were once dragons, ruling over all, before magic took their power from them. How the source of the magic disappeared afterwards, never to be found. How if the sorcerer or one of his descendants could be found, they could be restored to the mighty beings they once were.

Some may have dismissed it as flights of fancy. Some may have come to see them as tales for children as they grew older. But not Andrew. He firmly believes the stories his parents and grandparents told him, and he has taken it a step farther than they ever managed. At age twenty, he set out in search of the sorcerer, determined that he would find the sorcerer before returning home. He has been searching for nearly a year and still hasn't given up. In fact, he believes himself closer than ever.

This determination carries itself into everything he does. Be it small or great, he always does his best to finish what he starts. This is somewhat disastrous when coupled with a reckless and impulsive nature, since he often finds himself trying to do more than he should, but despite this, he keeps pushing on. The few he knows as friends consider him dependable. While he is outgoing and sociable, he tends to hold himself subconsciously on a higher level than most due to his heritage, and he only really considers a few close friends and his family as equals.
