This is a remake of the original crossover; Rise of the Dragon Pokemon

[spacer]The island Sevii, an island tormented by cold snow, rain and storms most time of the year. The people that live on this island are diverse, but they all share one thing;

their love for Pokemon, dragon Pokemon in particular.

The village of Ajagara is the only village on the large island and holds most of the island's population. People live and work with their Pokemon and have build their culture around their dragons. Every child is given the chance to pick an egg from the Hatchery on the day they turn ten years old. By then they have learned enough about dragons to start taking care of one.

Every year a tournament is held in honor of the ancient tribe that started this village, the Araegana, and their leader Ryagan Xiraka, now simply referred to as the Draconids. A lot of people on the island are descendants of the tribe, though it varies per person.
People with a pure Dragonid bloodline will have an unusual eye color, usually a golden or bright green color. They also have the natural ability to bond with dragons and can instinctively understand what they want to tell them. Dragonids are great assets, though they have dragon-like aggression the more pure their blood is.

You, as a villager in this harsh, but peaceful town, must carry on with your normal life and hope that the upcoming darkness won't destroy it.[/spacer]

The Plot

As you probably could have guessed by now, this roleplay is a crossover between Pokemon and HTTYD, with some elements from books I read. The island is inhabited by Pokemon of all kinds and has a large mountainous area, a large forest and a lot of fields. There are a few beaches and cliffs as well. The main currency is Eviolite (though we don't know what value it actually has) and the island mainly uses a trade system.

The main plot will revolve around 10 "chosen ones", but there are enough side characters to fill in that can still play a great role in the story. There will be legendary pokemon appearing at random times and all characters will have the opportunity to "bond" with these Pokemon, but I will decide the outcome of the interaction.
I will appoint co-gm's to help me decide if the reactions are good enough each encounter. THERE WILL BE NO ROOM FOR ARGUMENTS.
The plot will be explained further as the story goes along.

All members will start out one day before the tournament to celebrate the Draconids. This will give us time to settle in and establish character connections.

The Rules

  1. All Iwaku rules apply, no exceptions.
  2. Listen to the GM and co-gm's.
  3. No godmodding, powerplay, etc.
  4. I want this roleplay to be realistic in many ways, including battles, but keep it reasonable. I don't want to see guts flying around and I don't think other members want that either.
  5. If you have a problem with something or somebody, message a GM or the person you have a problem with. No arguments in the thread.
  6. I hold the right to alter or add rules as I see fit. Period.
  7. I don't expect five paragraphs in each post, but please no one-liners.
  8. Children in the roleplay will be given their first egg at age ten. If you want to be an exception, message me.
  9. The maximum amount of partners at this point is two. However, I don't want ten year old kids running around with two fully evolved Pokemon.

    Age 10-18: One partner.
    Age 18+: Two partners.
  10. NO SHINY POKEMON UNLESS SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED!
  11. If you read all of this properly, post ROTDP somewhere in your application.

As a medic you are a person that help the villagers when they are ill. They have a great knowledge of herbs and the human body and are in general very smart. They have their own health center, but also make house-visits.

Team Aether
The different factions in Team Aether that you can choose from.
Dragon Control and Assassination Squad;

[spacer]This squad mainly deals with taming and/or exterminating dragons that are brought in. Those that submit will be distributed among members as the Admin sees fit. Those who do not submit will be put down or used as training material for high ranking officers. The members of this squad are silent killers, unseen and deadly. [/spacer]

Admin: Reserved
Officer: 2
Soldier: UNLIMITED
Grunt: UNLIMITED

Capture and Liberation Squad;

[spacer]This squad deals in obtaining dragons for Team Aether in any way possible. They may steal dragons from their owners, capture them in the wild or obtain eggs to hatch, after which the dragons are send to the Dragon Control and Assassination Squad to be handled.[/spacer]

Admin:
Officer: 2
Soldier: UNLIMITED
Grunt: UNLIMITED

Information and Interrogation Squad;

[spacer]Among the cruelest of squads, the I&I makes sure to gather all information they can find to help their cause. Whether it be info for the research team or locations for the Capture and Liberation squad to obtain new dragons, they will find it and pass it on to the members of the team.
They are also tasked with extracting information, by any means, out of the rare captives the team holds.[/spacer]

Admin:
Officer: 2
Soldier: UNLIMITED
Grunt: UNLIMITED

Defensive tactics and Training Squad;

[spacer]This squad focuses on defensive strategies to protect the HQ and members alike when they are on missions. They handle all the recon before a mission and are an excellent line of defense. Having one of them on your team during a mission is very helpful. The grunts of the team are usually all about brawn, but the Admin and high ranking officers of this squad are among the most brilliant minds in the entire team.

Minami Nyx Xiraka

Celia_Pinup_Wallpaper_by_Kasailan.jpg

Name:
Minami Nyx Xiraka

Age:
21

Occupation:
Dragontamer, occasional teacher at Dragon Academy.

Personality:
Minami, or Mina to close friends, is a very friendly person and is quite outgoing. She is very simple-minded when it comes to male or female friends, but will get flustered and embarrassed when she notices a guy likes her. Despite her outgoing nature she can be very strict and will lash out when needed, which makes her both an excellent Tamer and Teacher.

Pokemon partner:
A Noivern named Kageyami.

Pokemon appearance:
heavy_metal_dragon_by_shadeofshinon-d68qjzc.png

History:
Minami had always been fascinated by dragon pokemon, even as a young girl. Unlike her family members she greatly adored the beasts and often went into the woods to look at them from afar.

At one of her days of exploration she encountered two pokemon battling each other, one a noivern and the other a dragonite. The nocturnal pokemon was obviously protecting a nest and fought furiously, but the dragonite overpowered it with sheer strength and the bat-like pokemon went down. Satisfied with having defended it's territory, the dragonite left the other pokemon behind and flew off.

Saddened, but also curious, Minami snuck up on the wounded pokemon and watched it from afar. The dragon was still breathing, but not for long and she knew it. Despite being a wild pokemon, it showed no anger or defensiveness towards Minami. Instead, with its last bit of energy she moved a shiny black and purple egg towards the astonished young girl and breathed its last breath.

After a while Minami picked up the egg and contemplated what to do. Her parents would surely send the egg to the hatchery and Minami would never see the young dragon entrusted to her, but she knew she couldn't take care of the egg by herself.
She hesitantly went home and explained the situation to her parents, pressing on the fact the mother dragon had bestowed her egg upon her to take care of her child.

Eventually, after much discussion between her parents, the caretaker at the hatchery was called and Minami was allowed to explain the situation to her as well. To her great relief she was told to come see the egg every day and once she was old enough she could have the little dragon for herself.

Overjoyed, the young girl did just that. She visited the egg every day, spoke to it and told it about her school days. A few months later it hatched and Minami was allowed to play with the little baby noibat once it was old enough.
Finally, a year and a half later, Minami turned ten and her little noibat was brought to her door. It has never left her side since.

After the egg was brought to the hatchery, Minami returned to it's mother's corps to hold a proper burial. Her father removed the dragon's fangs for her and she carries one around her neck while the other is around Kageyami's.

Special features:
Minami has a marking on her right shoulder in the shape of a blurry dragon pokemon. She also has a pierced ear (left, helix) and a pierced bellybutton, decorated with her noiverns fang. Her eyes are an abnormal amber color and become almost golden when she is intruiged by something. When she becomes infuriated they turn a bright red or dark purple. The change in her eye color is a result of her Dragonid blood, which is quite pure.

Pets:
Minami has a ninetales as a pet and protector of the house when she is gone with Yami.

Extra info:
None at this time.
Daniel Zennesto

aph_america_by_mano_chan-d8bftk8.png

Name: Daniel Zennesto

Age: 22

Occupation: Village Doctor / Fighter

Personality: Daniel is ultimately one of the calmer Draconids who can trace their heritage back to the village's founding. He is generally calm, cool and collected: perhaps even charismatic, as some might say. He is quick to make jokes and generally make light of a situation, especially if it comes to making jokes about him.

Despite this seemingly abnormal calm for a Pure-Draconid, Daniel is prone to moments of extreme aggression in response to certain things. If someone were to threaten him or one of his patients, Daniel becomes a savage and merciless man, quite happy to break whoever makes the threats before, inevitably, being asked to put them back together. On a few, rare occasions, Daniel has ended up breaking one of his fellow villagers bones for some sort of genuine insult of threat, only for him to then go about fixing up the broken limb. Thankfully, Daniel's aggression seems to abate as soon as the threat is perceived as gone: either through an apology or through a thorough beat-down.

Pokemon partner: Garchomp ♀, Seviper ♂

Pokemon appearance: Alicia is Daniel's first Pokémon, and the dragon he bonded with at the age of ten. She is one of the largest examples of a Garchomp in the entire village, and an impeccable example of the entire breed. She is sleek and muscular, and doesn't bare a single scar.

Richard is a Pokémon that was given to Daniel as a present when he finished his apprenticeship with the doctor of the island. The pokemon, while being a fairly normal looking Seviper, seems to have some of the more clear and lustrous skin on the island. It is a very lengthy Seviper, being over ten feet long when measured from tip to tail.

History: (OPTIONAL) [Will be added later]

Special features: Daniel's bright eyes are most often a bright blue, however they are known to shift to the more atypical golden hue of the Draconid tribe when he is in times of extreme tension or stress. For some reason, while his eyes are in their 'normal' colouration, his vision is much worse: hence his glasses. When he has the Draconid's eyes, his vision becomes perfect.

Pets: His family own a Tropius, called Calypso. The pokemon is too old to fight anymore, but it produces an abundance of delicious fruit with medicinal qualities.

Personality:
Due to his elusiveness, not much is known about Kisuke. Only his top Administrators speak to him in person and even to them he is a bit of a mystery. In general he is a neutral personality, not cold, nor warm in conversation. It is almost as if he is in an everlasting state of not caring about anything.

Name:
Soi-Fon

Nickname:
"Khuni", "Dragonlady", "Last Shadow".

Age:
19

Personality:
Harsh, cold, distant and sharp-tongued. She will rarely speak to anybody beside her father and high ranking Officers of Team Aether. In battle, however, she is a completely different person, often becoming a bit psychotic when she or her pokemon get hurt. This is a rare sight as to most people, it is the first time she actually shows emotion.

Faction:
DCA

Rank:
Admin

Reason for joining:
She had always been a peculiar child, being extremely aggressive and often beating other children at her orphanage to pulp. She was send to a juvenile prison at the age of 12 for stabbing a boy in the neck with a pair of scissors. In the jail she met with a Team Aether member who brought her in and she was adopted by their leader, Kisuke, once he heard of her past acts. She stayed, having found a family for the first time in her life.

Partner:
Akili, a shiny Gardevoir.

Pokemon appearance:
Due to an unknown mutation Akili's dress is black and her eyes are red.

(Shall be revealed at a later time)

History:

Sui-Feng was abandoned by her parents when she was still a baby, left in front of an orphanage.

She grew up to be a smart, but terrifyingly cold child that developed many aggressive traits as she grew older.

She had already severely injured many children and caretakers before she finally crossed the line and was send to juvenile prison, after stabbing a young boy in the neck with a pair of scissors and effectively paralyzing him.

After she arrived in prison and set a name for herself there, a slightly older member of Team Aether approached her with the offer of joining the team, which she gladly accepted. After pulling some strings she was released from the prison and taken to the boss of the team, Kisuke.

After proving herself he decided to adopt her as his own daughter and she quickly rose through the ranks after catching her first pokemon, a regular ralts. After it evolved it had received a black colored dress and that remained when she evolved into a gardevoir.

Shortly after catching her fourth pokemon she was granted the position of Admin and she has been given the title of Grand Tamer for her peculiar ability to tame most every pokemon she encounters.

elphelt_valentine_icon_by_helryu-d7xydn6.png

Name: Rouge Lariat

Age: Twenty Five

Nickname: The Pink-haired Herald

Appearance: The pink-haired menace of Team Aether, Rouge is a short, smiley individual with bright blue eyes and a nearly constant smile on her face. She is among the shorter members of Team Aether, standing at a meagre five foot, two inches, but she is surprisingly busty and surprisingly well toned underneath the uniform. Unlike most members of Aether, Rouge has not only abandoned any standard attire, but abandoned any meaningful work attire at all! She prefers lacy, wavy dresses or bright, vibrant attires to anything that one might dub 'battle ready.' The bright pink hair she is known and, by the lower dregs of the group, adored for reaches all the way down to her rump, and is smooth and well-kept, to the point of perfection. All in all, Rouge is like an image of beauty among a group that claims to be perfect. She is often seen as a sort of cover girl, and serves as the perfect messenger for the Team

Personality: Rouge appears on first glance to be a bit atypical among the higher-ranking officers of Team Aether. She is inquisitive, chirpy and well-mannered to a fault: endlessly seeking things that might interest or amuse her. To Rouge, the greatest pursuit in life is in finding things that can keep her interest. She finds the most interesting things to her are people and Pokémon.

Not to say that being a target of Rouge's interest is a particularly safe thing. There have been occasions where Rouge has tormented those that interest her: hounding them with trials that are intended to test them: either to breaking point or to new heights of interest. The intensity of these trials is something that will often become more and more fierce until Rouge eventually grows bored of the individual. Gods above, if there is one thing more terrifying than Rouge's interest, it is her boredom and her ire.

For those who bore her, Rouge is more than willing to toss aside, break or kill anything that will fall into this category, but for those who once held her interest, there is a particular malice: A meticulous dedication to the undertaking of completely annihilating the poor individual who meets with this fate.

Outside of this, she is generally summed up as a chirpy, cheerful and curious individual who takes a great amount of pleasure in her task of skirting around the various regions: recruiting, rehabilitating or rending through anyone her pink-haired curiosity might be pointed to by 'the boss.'

Rank: Administrator – The Information and Interrogation Squad

Reason for joining: Rouge is loyal to Kisuke because he provides her with a unique source of entertainment. To Rouge, the world is a boring, uninspiring place with little challenge left: outside of the challenges offered by Team Aether. Kisuke has also promised to assist Rouge with her hidden agenda.

History: Once upon a time, in a region far away, there lived a pink haired trainer who defied all logic. She did not go by the name of Rouge back then, but she was known to be a Pokémon prodigy. In a year, she was conquering gyms and in two years, she was a master of the Victory road. It seemed that the woman was an unstoppable force: one that might even challenge the Elite four!

But then…she vanished.

Rouge appeared a few years later, a rogue trainer who demanded a different type of challenge. She would seek out any trainer she could, and demanded they unleash their entire team upon her at once. She would use one Pokémon against these challengers, and when she succeeded against them, she would claim a trophy from the victim. The rumours about this strange figure circulated more and more, as she gathered a greater number of trophies. Soon, she was an international news story.

It was in this time that Rouge met a figure that caught her attention: the would-be leader of Team Aether: Kisuke. Rouge has always had a good eye for people, and the woman could tell that Kisuke was a challenge. Her interest piqued, Rouge offered Kisuke the same offer she'd given so many others: Bring the whole team, and she'd only use one Pokémon. Kisuke sent out only one Pokémon, and so the battle began.

No one except the two know what happened in the match. Rumours surround the fight, but the end result had Rouge become uniquely intertwined with Kisuke. Finally, a person who could lead her to excitement! Rouge has followed Kisuke ever since. Not out of some misguided hatred for the world, or from some manipulation of parental-losing grief, but because she was bored with the status quo, and Kisuke offered a unique escape.

Signature Pokémon:
Solaire, Charizard ♂
Hermes, Delibird ♂

Solaire - Rouge's first pokemon, and easily her most powerful. Solaire is a veritable juggernaut of speed, agility and power. He is focused on physical attacks and generally overwhelms his opponents with vicious blows and terrifying pace. If she ends up taking you on with this 'mon, be prepared to lose: Rouge can count the number of times that Solaire has lost a battle on one hand.

Hermes - The delightful Delibird is an unusual Pokémon, but a powerful one none-the-less. Hermes is mostly used when Rouge is busy with her messenger duties, but he will hardly back down from a fight. Hermes wields a variety of Ice based attacks which make him a terror for dragons, and his natural speed is pretty darn impressive as well. You can't deliver messages across the entire region if you are slow!

Luna -This Dusknoir is unique, as she is the only Pokémon that Rouge ever took as a trophy to keep. Most of the time, Rouge simply abandons the Pokémon she once claimed as trophies, but Luna impressed her enough that she was kept around. The Dusknoir has grown loyal to Rouge, and serves as a huge brick wall to anyone who would try and harm her master. Luna also serves as a fun entrance and exit, as Rouge often enters or exits through the Dusknoir's mouth, either before or after it has phased through a wall.

Perseus - This Flygon is a Pokémon that actually found Rouge. When she was delivering a message in a harsh desert, the Flygon came out as the lord of the desert, and challenged Rouge. When the admin beat the Flygon down, it followed her and challenged her again, only to be beaten again. This occurred seven times, before Rouge decided the Pokémon was interesting enough to take in as a partner. The Flygon is stubborn and unrelenting, as well as powerful and incredibly tricky. It whips up fierce sandstorms in order to hide its movements, or Rouge's!

Mercury - Rouge's newest Pokémon, This Feraligator is a Pokémon that Rouge decided to train after an increased amount of missions involving or close to the sea. She is eager to prove herself to Rouge, and is therefore the most viscous threat that Rouge has: because of her eagerness to impress and the fierce mix of physical and special attacks it can pull out.

Rank: Soldier

Special features: Glasses

Pokémon Partner:

Hydreigon

Pokémon Appearance:

635.gif

Pokémon Team:

Gardevoir, Dragonite, Excadrill
Personality
Ryesis' personality is somewhat contradictive. While his actions might seem nonchalant or greatly lacks sympathy – even to the point of appearing somewhat nihilistic, he is at the same time highly devoted to common goals he agreed upon, and would do absolutely anything to ensure their success. ROTDP

He is also far more twisted then he leads others to believe. He can be cruel, bloodthirsty, and occasionally sadistic; this probably being the main reason he is now where he is. He rarely ever lies, but he does keep secrets and chooses to present half-truths whenever the opportunity presents itself. Generally, he means well and is capable of being considerate towards others, but often ends up being sarcastic – especially so when giving advice. He holds no interest in village life, but is willing to live it for the sake of his job, as a spy.

Background
History

Ryesis was born from a nice family which possesses its own farm in Ajagara. Being the eldest son, he is obligated to continue the family business, much to his chagrin. It has never been something that he held any particular care for, learning to herd domesticated Pokémons simply because it was expected of him. Perhaps it was that thought that got him to secretly trying to find a way out of the life he currently possess – and accidentally stumbling upon a Team Aether recruitment advertisement.

There weren't many who are able or want to get close to the boy, but that doesn't mean the boy did not want acquaintances. Eventually, he came to conclude that he was only wasting his time trying to act like children, despite knowing that he was entitled to act as such. He decided to go join Team Aether and was admitted into the organization, despite his surprisingly young age. While focused on an objective, Ryesis would be willing to use any method possible to make his tasks quicker and easier, such as abducting innocent civilians while disguising himself as a mere student – which proved his worth even more, allowing him to conveniently step up the ladder of ranks in the organization.

Reason for joining

He had wanted to try it out just so he could momentarily sate his undying boredom, not knowing what life-changing outcome that single, unremarkable decision will entail him to.

I am obviously here, and I am most certainly queer joining.

And here is my first character: Rouge, of Team Aether.

Rouge's first pokemon, and easily her most powerful.

  • Delibird_by_Latte3000.png

The delightful Delibird is an unusual Pokémon, but a powerful one none-the-less.

  • Dusknoir_by_Suguro.jpg

This Dusknoir is unique, as she is the only Pokémon that Rouge ever took as a trophy to keep.

This Flygon is a Pokémon that actually found Rouge.

Rouge's newest Pokémon, Mercury is a Pokémon that Rouge decided to train after an increased amount of missions involving or close to the sea. She is eager to prove herself to Rouge, and is therefore the most viscous threat that Rouge has: because of her eagerness to impress and the fierce mix of physical and special attacks it can pull out.

  • This is for whatever sixth pokemon Rouge steals, tames or befriends.

I'm here!

Can I make mine a Dragontamer/Fighter?

I might also make an Aether character.

@Limeypanda Rouge is accepted ^^

The first post isn't fully done yet, but I'll edit some Dragonid info later. If you want to make an Aether character go ahead ^^
I am going to be severely strict with Admins though, so you might be asked to be an Officer or Soldier instead

Go ahead and make a Dragon Tamer G3n3s1s

I edited the intro to include some more Dragonid information. I also added a Nickname section for Team aether members, so Limey you should edit that in if you want ^^

I'll be posting my village character tonight. Lets keep getting hyped

Haha yes! I will try to get my characters up today as well ^^

Name: Ryesis Vagarus

Nickname: Demon-Child, Cub (to superiors and peers)

Age: 15

Occupation: Student*

Faction: Information and Interrogation Squad

Evolved form, because I can't get onto DeviantArt.

~History~
Sciona wasn't originally from the village. He and his parents lived in a small house on the edge of Sevii. The area was mostly dragon territory, but as long as they didn't anger the dragons, they could live there. At age 9, Sciona lost his mother to a rampaging Druddigon. At age 12, he befriended his first dragon, an Aerodactyl, whom he named Mnementh, or Nem. At age 15, his house, and father, were swept into the sea when he angered a Gyarados while fishing. His father had told him stories of where he grew up. He had said there was a village on the other side of the island where they lived in peace with the dragons. With no where left to call home, Sciona decided to find the village. He flew on Nem towards the village. Along the way, they found a dead female Flygon. A young Tapinch was nestled against it. It looked as though the mother had been attacked and was protecting it's child. Sciona took the Trapinch, whom he named Pena, with him. Pena became attached to Sciona, recognizing him as her new parent.

They found the village, were integrated into society, Sciona showed skill with dragons due to how and where he grew up. After a while, we get to where we are now.

~Special features~

~Pets (House Pokemon)~

~Extra info~

W.I.P.

What sort of thing would go into the "Special Features" group?

What do I do with the "Pets" group if I don't have any house pokemon? (Both of mine will normally be coming with me.)

If you don't want or need any pets you can leave it blank ^^

Special features are things like markings, tattoos, birthmarks, scars, extraordinary eye colors etc. Everything remarkable or special about your character's appearance.

@Rylarth Accepted ^^ The Team HQ will later be described properly, but it is on a seperate island and build into a mountain ^^

Limey, I love your form, but my BBcoding does not agree with it T^T Could you perhaps make a more simplified version of it so I can add it to the first page?

Extra info:N/a

Ah, thank you Limey x3

Love Daniel ♡ I'll add him to the first post sometime tonight ^^
