Different isn't bad

The man, Michael, dropped Kai in order to wrap his fingers around the ice on his neck. He squeezed the the ice, causing it to shatter.
Kai quickly helped to destroy the tank before starting to run off to an air vent. Everyone who was locked up should have been small enough to go through, majority of the people like them aren't taller than 5'5 and don't weigh more than 120lbs.
Kai, was around 4'10 and weigh 89lbs, even though she was in her teen years. It was how a lot of these guys were born. They were made different, with powers, and smaller than most people.
"Hurry!" Kai rushed them, not wanting her plan to fail. If it did, she would expect a greater punishment than last time she tried to break loose.

Zack helped Christa and the ice girl up before getting up himself.

Zero smiled and thanked Zach then hurried quickly after everyone fitting herself into the air vent.

If everyone followed Kai correctly, they would have been able to make it out of the building.
Their reason for being locked up to begin with, had to do with Michael wanting to keep them from the outside world. Their powers could cause problems, he said. People wouldn't accept them, he said.
But, they were treated unfairly within those walls. They could have been able to live normal lives as long as they hid their powers. If it weren't for the drones ability to sense people like them, they would have been able to live properly.

From this point on, the ones who were able to escape have to keep their selves hidden. They would have to stay on the run and watch out for the drones roaming the city looking for them. Some could try to live normal lives, others would try to stay away from the outside world to keep away from the drones searching for them.
They could all stick together, or they could all go their separate ways.

"We need hurry," Kai said, wanting to get as far from the building as she could.

Zero could feel her heat racing faster and faster as they all followed Kai out of the building. She began to wonder what the outside would be like, and what would happen after this. Being only 10 the thought of living on her own terrified her greatly. Zero knew that she was the weaker link and would most likely turn into a problem considering her only power was to deal with water. Drawing nearer to Kai, Zero bit the corner of her lower lip hoping for the best for everyone.

Kai hardly knew anything about the outside world. She only heard stories, and she hasn't seen more than a couple minutes of the outside from past times she has tried to runaway. Her first time had to have been when she was five. Kai was young in age, but she was smart to the point where you thought she was at least fifteen. She learned from her surroundings, it's been like that since she was two, the age she was taken captive.
Kai ran off, not paying attention if anyone else was following, yet hoping they were. She would have hated having to live on her own. In fact, she may prefer to have stayed in those cages instead of being alone.

When they finally made it out zeros eyes filled with tears as she took in the outside world, "its so beautiful!" She said in awe and inhaled deeply taking in fresh air. Looking at the others she asked them quitely, "so what now..?"

Kai nodded, it was beautiful. She almost forgot how it looked.
"We should keep moving..." she said as she looked back from where they came. She started to run off, hoping the rest would follow.
They eventually made it in the woods. Kai took a bunch of turns, making sure to lose them.
Once they were far enough, Kai slowed down to a walk.

Zack and Christa followed them into the woods, Zack closing the line.

Zero panting bent down and held herself up by her knees, "a-are they gone?" She asked looking to make sure everyone made it. Taking a look around she took in the forest it was better than her wildest dreams. Through her bare feet she could feel the water in the earth feeding the plants and trees, "theres so much water.." she mumbled amazed.

Kai looked behind them to make sure they weren't followed.
"They're gone. But if I know my f- I mean, if I know Micheal, then he'd probably have a whole search to get us back no matter what..." Kai stated before she started walking again. "Maybe we can find somewhere to go from these." Kai dumped a pile of random papers she took from Micheal's office before setting everyone free.
