Desperation and hunger

"You've got wolf instincts that have been hardwired to hunt vampires for centuries. I doubt that you can change that." She rolled her eyes.

"Why is that? Why are werewolfs SUPPOST to hunt vampires?"

"I don't know how that works. You'd have to ask someone who follows werewolf history."

Drake sighed. "The climbing up a tree thing might be a good thing to do now." He could see the moon begining to peak over the mountains.

"Yeah." She glanced at the moon, and scaled a really high tree. She then looked down; she'd never seen a werewolf transormation before. This would be interesting. She didn't know if a werewolf could scale a tree while in the wolf form, but she was obviously about to find out.

He glanced up the tree. "You might be stuck there all night. If you get the chance, you should find a place to hide." The moon was nearly up, and he could feel the shift begin. "I'm sorry about this."

Katy just watched. Her eyes stay fixed on him the entire time. She didn't mind being trapped in the tree...it was a good place to chill out for the night. As she watched Drake take on his wolf form, she already knew she wouldn't be able to sleep.

Shifting was never very plesant. It felt like bones were meing shove and twisted around inside his body. Slowly, his normal mind began to vanish till nothing but the wolf remained.

Katy just stared, shuddering because she heard could hear the bones popping and twisting out of place. How can he deal with that? She thought, biting her bottom lip, gripping her tree branch anxiously. She could tell he was now running on pure instinct, as he would for the next twelve hours. She would be trapped in this tree. She didn't mind. It was safer than running for her life from him for twelve hours.

The first scent that caught his nose was vampire. He glanced up into the tree, and saw her. He growled. He circled the tree a few times. He growled some more. There was no way to get into the tree, no way to get her. Something about her tugged at his mind, but the wolf in him pushed it asside. A different scent caught his nose. Deer. He took off through the trees.

Katy jumped through the trees, moving fast enough not to lose him. She could easily track him by scent once he shifted back, but she was curious as to how his behavior is changed. So she tracked his scent while staying high enough in the trees so he couldn't get her.

He spotted the deer laying in a patch of grass. He dropped into a crouch and slowly moved downwind of the deer. He slowly aproached. The deer must of heard something. It looked up and turned its head twoards Drake, who burst out of the bushes. He seized the deer by the neck and shook it till it was dead. He dropped the deer, then let out a lonly howl.

Katy just watched. She figured that he was just a supernatural wolf, not really much of anything special.

Drake ate the deer. Once he was finished, he caught the scent of vampire again. He looked up into the trees and saw her. He didnt growl, just gave an impacient 'huff', then began slowly walking through the forest.

Katy smirked at that and continued watching him. She was tempted to drop to the ground, just to see what he would do, but she knew she could get herself killed. If all the rumors she heard were true, one bite from him and she was dead.

Drake continued walking, ignoring Katy as she followe in the trees.

Katy began to grow bored, and soon, she began scanning moving faster, heading back towards civilization so she could feed.

Drake growled. There were no other scents in the forest. After a moment of wandering, he turned back and followed Katy scent.

Katy looked back and noticed the wolf was keeping track of her. She frowned but kept moving high up in the trees. She knew she couldn't come down until he shifted back. She continued moving, then starting moving in a direction away from the town. The last thing she needed was to accidently have him massacre a small town; she'd seen a wolf do that once, trying to get her. So she needed to lead him away from it.

Drake 'huffed'. There were no other scents worth follow, so he kept following Katy.
