Akio couldn't think of anything at all, and so with a sigh went back to bed. He eventually fell asleep, but did not dream.

The next morning, Tiger was already dressed and out the door, after grabbing a slice of toast from the cafeteria, he left for Practice class. He bumped into Dragon near the classroom door and hugged her.

"Did you have a good night's sleep?" she asked happily, pulling away.

"Uh, I guess?" he lied, he was too busy thinking about Akio throughout the night, he woke up every hour or so because his mind was so cluttered.

Akio didn't have breakfast, which wasn't normal for him. Tired, he headed for practice class. As he did, however, he bumped into James.

"Did you get to clean your pistols?" asked Dragon

"Yeah. Look how shiny it is now!" He pulled out his silver pistols and showed her, just before he got dressed he sat there on his bed and polished it until it was shining, and you could see your reflection in it.

Akio's eyes widened in fear, and he tried to back away. But he knew there was no point. He arrived at class with multiple bruises, but all of them unseen. He did seem to limp however.

Tiger spotted Akio walking towards them and waved at him. "Hey Akio, how was your night?" He was happy to see him, he felt different when Akio was present. It was true he made him feel nervous, but it also made him feel happy at the same time.

Dragon, however, was studying Akio's leg, "Akio, did something happen?"

"It was alright," Akio mumbled. He looked to Dragon. "Nothing.... Nothing happened." He obviously needed to work on his lying skills, cause it was so easy to see.

"Are you sure? You're walking funny," she said worryingly, she looked at his leg carefully. Whenever he walked, it seemed out of rhythm.

Tiger's eyes darkened, "Did someone hurt you?"

Akio didn't say anything, knowing their minds would jump straight to James. He didn't wan them to know, but at the same time he did. But he knew if he went to the Headmaster he would only get into more trouble from James. Which, he knew, was not good.

"Tell us, there's no need to be shy. We're going to be pact partners soon, don't we have a right to know?" said Dragon, she had a hurtful look on her face. She took trust very easily, being lied to was not her favourite thing, if there was a good enough reason she would accept it. But right now she saw no circumstances that would make Akio not speaking the truth.

"Thing is," Akio mumbled, "if you go after him or tell him off, he'll just tease me and beat me up more." He looked up at her.

Tiger and Dragon looked at each other, "Let me guess, James Storm?" Tiger growled. How dare he? It would be a shame if his girlfriend walked in on a white tiger ripping him from limb to limb tonight. Tiger laughed evilly, thinking of all the torture methods he learned in History.

Dragon banged her coral staff against the floor, "We reported him already, he should have a warning on his name! Did you see any teachers?"

Just then, the door to the Practice room opened, a man dressed in a simple singlet and khaki tracksuit pants popped his head out. "Oh, you guys are early. Come on in and have a seat." The Practice room was almost like a small cinema. Two rings of seats surrounded a stage, which was right below a large screen. Behind the stage was a set of metal double doors leading to the special room designed to hold an holographic jungle, or town, or any sort of environment. The wall containing the screen would be retracted, along with the stage to create an arena used for one on one or two on two battles.

"No there weren't any teachers," Akio muttered. "He always makes sure." When the door opened, Akio let out a soft squeak of alarm before he realised what happened. With a blush, he headed inside.

Tiger and Dragon sat together and discussed the issue with James Storm, and while they were talking, more and more students filed into the classroom, eventually taking up all the seats.

"Alright, you guys have had a lot of time to hone your skills. So today we'll be doing some one on one fights, so I can assess you," said the teacher in charge.

"Oh great," Akio muttered. "Just the day James decides he needs to hurt me. Of course it has to be assessment day." He groaned, thinking of how low his score would be because of his leg and other bruises.

The teacher scanned the room, getting a good look at all the students. "I'm sure all of us are curious of what happened at the cafeteria yesterday, Akio and Tiger, you two first." Tiger looked at the teacher with horror. There was no way he could fight Akio, not after what happened yesterday, but he had to be assessed, there was other place he could go if he was expelled. The screen slowly retracted into the walls, and the stage was lowered, so it was now flat ground. Holographic trees appeared, and a table piled with all sorts of weapons rose up from the floor. "Akio, you want to use a weapon?" said the teacher with a smirk.

Akios eyes widened in shock. No way. He couldn't possibly be against Tiger. There was no way he could win, and he was already injured. Shit. "Uh... Two daggers..."

Tiger rose from his seat and went onto the now lowered stage. The table containing weapons went back under the stage as the teacher hands Akio two daggers. The teacher then heads off the battlefield, sitting in a special chair near the students. Tiger gives Akio a pained look, "Don't hold back." He grabs hold of a thick branch protruding from the largest tree and hauls himself up, hiding from Akio's sight.

Akio gritted his teeth, grabbing the daggers and still had a slight limp. He watched Tiger go, before closing his eyes and disappearing from sight. While invisible, he moved to hide someplace without having to use his invisibilty.

A gong sounded. The hunt was on.

Tiger leapt from tree to tree, trying to sniff out Akio. But the teacher knew this was an unfair advantage for Tiger, and decided to spray out a light sickeningly sweet gas into the battlefield, destroying his chance of finding Akio through scent.
