The Demon's Broken Promise
600_468393943.jpeg

For as long as time has told, demons have always been looked upon and believed to had been destroyers and nothing more than monsters. What humans have never understood was that the ones that they considered monsters were ones that were untamed and were wild like animals by nature though not every demon was like that, there were many who had homes and families of their own and treated others with respects just as how humans did so with one another. However, because of the history that demons held, such a thought was never heard of and believed to be mere lies so demon hunters continued to hunt down and kill all sorts of demons whether they were innocent or not.

Because of this, eventually four particular demons rose up and gathered all demons that wished to live in peace into one area. The four used whatever power they could muster up within them to force a massive barrier deep within the forest as well as form a mist that caused any human that wandered into the forest to become lost before eventually finding themselves walking in circles and finally end up finding their way out of the forest sooner or later. Within the barrier, for hundreds of years the demons who lived there began construction of their own city which they ended up naming 'Haven'.
Years passed and with the new city built as well as more and more demons who wished to live in peace arriving, the death of innocent demons came to a halt and soon enough the hunters nearly ran out of demons that were causing destruction to kill. Realizing by this point something was off, the leader of the humans attempted to call for a meeting with the leaders of demons.

By the end of the meeting, both demons and humans signed a peace treaty with one another and that it allowed for hunters to deal with demons who meant any bad will towards humans though not allowed to harm those who wished for peace.

Centuries went by and everything had appeared to had been going perfect as the four demon leaders even ended up having their own children over time, knowing that their children would be the next in line to rule over their respective clan that governed Haven. One day however, a single man entered the city that was dressed in an all black cloak during the dead of night as well as during a storm. This very man began to wreck havoc upon the city cursing the demons that lived in Haven as well as calling out the four and stating that they were weak a menace to society.
As the four arrived at the scene to confront this stranger, they questioned who he was and what he wanted. The only response they received was that the treaty was broken and that he wanted nothing more than the death of them all. Just as quickly as he arrived, the stranger vanished as a massive foot stomped on where he was once standing only to reveal out of the darkness of the night a monstrous beast that towered over the entire city and was three times the size of the city. It quickly began to wreck havoc even moreso upon the city forcing the four to do away with it as quickly as possible only to find that they were no match for it. Having no other choice, the four focused whatever energy they had left to forcibly seal away the beast underneath the city behind a giant door that could only be unlocked if their four children were to come down and unlock it themselves.

Unable to fully raise their children themselves, it has come to believe by many of those who survived that day that humans had broken the treaty and were the ones who sent the beast to come and kill them. While on that same day, duplicates of that same beast wrecked havoc upon the countries all over the globe while that same man was in every part of the world stating that the treaty was broken and wished for the death of everyone; this also had caused the thought that demons were the one who broken the treaty.

To this day, humans and demons continue to remain separated while those who come into contact with one another are only hostile while their ancestors had wanted nothing more than peace.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Standing in the midst of the pouring rain on the sidewalk a hooded male stood there turning his head from one side to the next several times before extending his arm forward with an open palm. Seconds passed with absolutely nothing happening, soon the rain began to slow in front of him as it started to gather together into a small sphere shape. Reaching his free hand to the top of the sphere while the other rested below it, the ball of water began to jiggle and morph into what appeared to be some sort of animal. The more it changed it's shape the more visible it became till eventually the sight of three small bluebirds made from ice appeared in the palm of his hand; each chirped as they looked up at the male.

"Go. Be swift, this is urgent." As he gave the commands to the three birds, they each nodded their heads before flapping their wings and flying off in each direction. Each of the birds' destinations was to reach each of the leaders of the clans and inform them about the leader of the Black Rose clan calling for a meeting with all the leaders and for them to arrive at the Sky Reach Sanctum tower. The information would be presented in the form of a letter made from ice by the bird turning into the letter before finally shattering after the letter was completely read over and understood.
Due to the birds having their order, if anyone that was not a leader were to attempt and capture the bird, it would not turn into the letter but rather immediately shatter if it believes the letter might be compromised.

After each of the messengers went on their way, the hooded male continued on his way down the sidewalk towards his goal which at the time was none other than Sky Reach Sanctum as well.

While on his way, the only thoughts that roamed his head was the discussion of what the meeting of all four leaders was going to be about to begin with. The sudden death of demons was becoming almost too common outside of Haven and even innocents that left Haven for travel and vacation into the human realm that were within their human form the entire time were starting to be killed if not just gone missing all together. Something was going on and there was no doubt it was not a matter that can just be ignored any longer.

Azrael Blackthorn

The sound of a wood object being split in half could be heard loud and clear for those near the dojo at the backyard of the Ravinca Manor. Another splitting sound could be heard as Azrael kept training intensively with Murasame, his katana. Breathing heavily and gritting his teeth, the leader of the Ravinca swung once again his weapon, "decapitating" the wooden dummy that was in front of him. He was wearing a pair of black pants with his brown hunter boots, but shirtless and soaked in sweat.

This was his usual training routine that, even when he doesn't need to as he was already skilled handling Murasame, and fighting, he still trains in an effort to reach perfection, just like those past leaders of the Ravinca. Azrael was aiming to become greater than them as he believed that will help him to be a better leader for his followers, which were already loyal to him.

After a few minutes, Azrael stood in the middle the dojo on a fighting stance, holding Murasame with both of his hands and above his right shoulder. He looks down at the floor he scanned with his eyes all the heads and other parts from the now destroyed dummies that circled him. Scoffing with a smug, he closed his eyes before standing straight and lowering his sword. As he held Murasame with his left hand, his right arm ignited brightly with a scarlet flame, and when he opened his right hand, a scar in the middle of its palm slowly opened. Then, Azrael gently introduced Murasame through the scar, and once it was all the way in, the scar closed back and the flames on the arm ceased.

"Another successful training, my darling," Azrael heard a familiar female voice behind him. Scoffing, he turned around to look at a female with a young appearance wearing a red and black kimono. "You bet it was, Murasame," he replied to her with a confident smile, making Murasame burst in giggles. "Oh, my...! It really amuses me that amount of confidence and cockiness. It really won't hurt you if you be a little humble, you know?" Chuckling, Azrael shrugged with his eyes closed. "Humble? What does that even mean? I don't think that's a word in my dictionary, Murasame."

Annoyed, Murasame crossed her arms below her big breasts and puffed her cheeks with air, cutely pouting at Azrael. "How many times I have told you to calm me Mura-chan, darling!? Or if you don't like it, call me with a nickname or something else than my name. You don't need to be so formal with me. I demand you to be informal and be more friendly with me. After all, we are as one now."

With a big drop of sweat, Azrael smiled wryly at Murasame. "It's not that I treat you with formalities, it's just that I like your name," he replied to her, rubbing the back of his head while he looked to his right. "Besides, calling you Mura-chan... Aren't you too old for that?" Gasping with shock and offended, Murasame quickly took a few steps closer to Azrael, which made him turned his head to look at her, and he widened his eyes as he saw her leaning her face extremely close to his, making him blush faintly. "Why you need to be so mean to me!? This is not how you treat a woman properly. I can't believe I even chose to make a contract with somebody that doesn't appreciate me and just uses me just as a weapon. I should've known better than this! Hmph!"

Frowning offended, Murasame stepped back from Azrael and quickly turned around, giving him her back with her arms still crossed below her chest. Sighing annoyed, but feeling kind of bad, Azrael rolled his eyes to his left and rubbed the back of his neck, hesitating in saying something. After a minute, he swallowed hard before moving his head to look back at Murasame. "Fine, fine, I'm sorry to be such an asshole with you sometimes," he told her and shrugged with a sigh. "You probably know by this point that I'm a terrible person when it comes to being nice or friendly or even worse, show some source of affection. So, please, throw me a bone and understand me."

As Azrael walked beside Murasame, she quickly turned her back again to him, refusing to look or speak to him. Blinking irritated, Azrael took a deep breath. He just wanted to yell at her or scold her, but that probably would only make things worse. Sighing, Azrael nodded and crossed his arms, looking down at the floor. "Um... Sorry for being an asshole with you, Murasame. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or anything. Sometimes I forgot that you are more than a weapon, so, um... From now on that won't happen again, and I will see you as a... Friend? Partner? I don't know, I guess with whichever of those you feel comfortable."

When he slowly lifted his head to look at Murasame, she quickly assaulted him with a tight hug, her breasts pinning against his face. Widening his eyes like an owl, Azrael blushed deep red as Murasame smiled widely. "Okay! Apologies accepted, my darling!" she said out loud, giggling happily. "See? You can be nice and kind! All you need to do is practice more and you will get used to it. Simple as that."

"O-O-Okay, okay, okay! I get it!" Azrael said, trying not to choke in the hands of a pair of big breasts. "Now, can you please let me go!? These huge things are about to kill me!" Gasping with surprise and blushing lightly, Murasame slowly pushed back Azrael from her chest, smiling with embarrassment as she held her cheeks with her hands, her eyes closed. "Oh, my... If you wanted to peek and feel my breasts that badly, all you needed to do was ask, my darling. I would've said-"

"Keep dreaming, you pervert," interrupted Azrael, shaking his head with disbelief. Giggling, Murasame leaned over to his right cheek and kissed it gently before disappearing into a light smoke, returning to his right arm. Scoffing, Azrael lifted his right arm to look at it, still trying to get used to having a sword and the soul of a demon living in there.

Suddenly, someone abruptly opened the doors of the dojo, which made Azrael whipped his head toward it.

"Sir, it's Ying! H-He came back from his travel heavily wounded!"

Widening his eyes, Azrael didn't lose any more time and quickly rushed out of the dojo, the fellow demon nervously escorting him toward the entrance of the Manor. There's a group of members of the Ravinca were gathered around a heavily wounded demon that was laying on the ground. Most parts of his body were covered in deep scratches from where he was bleeding, and bruises and cuts too. With his right hand, he was pressing hard a deep stab he received on the right side of his stomach. The poor demon was breathing deeply, trembling, and mumbling nonsense. When Azrael arrived at the scene, a few demons stepped aside so he could see Ying.

"What the hell just happened to you, Ying!?" he asked him, worried taking over his face as he quickly knelt. Ying panted heavily and shook his head after a few seconds, swallowing hard. "It... It was a trap... I... I told them to... Not go in... They... They were waiting for us..." Even when the mumbling was confusing, Azrael could figure out that Ying and a group of people were ambushed by something brutal and strong enough to damage him this badly. Clicking his tongue Azrael commanded somebody to bring Leng so she could at least save Leng. Well, most part of him.

It didn't take Leng to quickly arrive at the scene and put her skills. As expected, he scolded Ying for not being careful with himself. She managed to save his life by healing the stab and bleeding scratches and bruises, but the poor guy was extremely weak by exhaustion. With the help of a few members, Ying was slowly brought inside the Manor and got settled in a room so he could have a long rest.

Azrael was on one of the balconies of the Manor, lost in his thoughts and recalling the past mysterious murders of his clan members without an explanation. The first one was Ren, one of his best fighters. One day, he went on a mission outside of Haven to investigate a group of apparent humans that were accused of murdering demons. A week later, his body was found at the border of the northern border of the barrier, decapitated, and with no arms. They were able to found the body was from Ren when they saw the Ravinca clan tattoo on his chest. The second murder was Alice, one of the clairvoyants of the Ravinca. She practically was a really innocent and harmless demon that even couldn't hurt a fly. She body was found three days after she went to do some groceries, with signs of being tortured. And now Ying was attacked.

For Azrael, everything pointed out that somebody or something is hunting them down for good. Now that he thinks about it deeply, the Ravinca isn't the only clan with mysterious casualties. He heard about attacks in the Serpent Kiss and Black Rose. They were all being hunted and it was a matter of time for other attacks to take place. He simply couldn't just stay and do nothing. He knew that he needed to act fast if he wanted to save his clan.
Suddenly, a weird bird made of ice soared through the balcony and as Azrael looked at it with confusion, the bird careful landed on his shoulder, slowly melting into a short latter. Lifting his right eyebrow, Azrael took the letter and read it in silence. After reading, Azrael nodded as he understood that all leader has been called for an important meeting. Then, the letter shattered into ice, which melted through his fingers as they reacted to the heat of his pyromaniac heat.

Not losing time, Azrael informed Ling that he has been called, and to be in charge while he was gone. And with that, he took out his wings and soared through the skies toward the Sky Reach Sanctum, decided to tell everyone his worries about these mysterious murders, but also curious about the reason of this sudden reunion.

Bingling Leng

While Ying was off dying, Bingling was in the midst of listening to her favorite music box. The little ballerina in the center slowly turned in place as the notes played on. Every high pitched key rang loud enough to silence all of the souls in the room. Chatter of being hungry, sights they have seen, memories that would soon fade, all disappeared behind the lively tune. She just started doze off when a knock on the door alerted her to the presence of a living being.

The moment she shut the music box, the voices started again; filling her bedroom with a cacophony of deafening shrieks, the faintest of nonsensical mumblings, and a grumbling mess of beings with past grievances. Annoyed at the intrusion, Bing got up and opened the door, her clear gaze that stared up at the messenger had an icy feel to it comparable to a winter’s lake. ”Yes?” The messenger was startled to see their second-in-command in such a bad mood. He relayed the message before running off, excusing himself from her presence.

Confused, Bing bid goodbye to her sleep schedule and hurried off to her leader’s side. Before she could even get there, she could smell the metallic scent of blood in the air. Ying was impossible to miss. The look in her eyes darkened at the sight of the wounded demon.

‘Do I look like a fucking medic to you? Incompetant trash, you should have never returned at all.’ She mentally cursed the stupid demon for returning in such a state. If he wasn’t such a failure, she wouldn’t have to stoop down to the level of some average nurse for no reason. Did this man think there was an infinite supply of souls or something? Was traveling really so challenging these days? It seemed she would have to send Reaper with the next group that wished to explore.

Annoyed but ever obedient to her future food source, Bing reluctantly complied. Placing a dainty hand on the man’s chest, a soft glow emitted from her fingers and dug into the man’s flesh as Bing channeled a small piece of her soul into him, merging it with his own to speed up the healing process. The wounds on the man’s body healing before everyone’s eyes. To others, it was a lovely sight to behold. Bing was the very picture of gentleness and grace. However, only Ying knew what was truly going on and could only grimace in pain. Bing was far from gentle as her soul pricked at him and held his heart with a tight thorny grip, threatening to crush the thing as it was.

Oh, how she wanted to. The man was already on the verge of death. It was likely Azrael would look the other way if his heart suddenly failed. On top of that, the man was weak and in too much pain to make even the smallest of cries. It was the perfect crime.

Fortunately the man didn’t have a soul that appealed to her. His very being was highly unappetizing to Bing. When she felt he had enough, she released him, leaving him weak and in the same amount of pain he was in before. Azrael couldn’t complain. It wasn’t as if the man was on death’s door any longer. He would recuperate with a little rest.

Rest.

The very thought of taking a nap appealed to Bing more than anything else. Wanting to catch up on some sleep, she headed back to her bedroom and restarted her usual routine. She picked a random music box and played it, waiting for the souls to silence themselves before finally resting her eyes. It wasn’t long until she dozed off. What met her weren’t dreams but memories. Memories of who the original Bing actually was. Memories of a cheerful young girl living her days as positively as she could in a strange human filled world.

The memory she was on was nowhere near finishing. The girl was arguing with her mother one minute about wanting to keep a puppy she found in an abandoned building. In the next minute, someone was once again knocking on her door. Startled, Bing knocked over the music box, silencing the thing for good. Before she could open the door, the messenger relayed Azrael’s message. She was to watch the clan while he was out. Surprised and a little annoyed that their shut-in leader would leave her behind, Bing immediately got to her feet and hopped out of her balcony. She was on the second floor and broke both of her pathetic human legs upon landing. As she healed them, she raised two fingers into her mouth and whistled a low pitched tone.

Reaper materialized before her. Once she was healed, she climbed onto his back and urged him to follow that ever familiar scent that lured her to this manor in the first place. Bing didn’t feel one bit guilty over ditching her duties. It wasn’t as if the clan wasn’t capable of taking care of itself. Reaper’s gangly limbs scampered forward at an unimaginable pace. Bing had to really clutch onto the ragged fabric that covered his thin form in order to not fall off.

At the pace the pet and its owner were going, it wasn’t long until they could see Azrael’s figure in the distance. Soon the two would also reach the destination their leader seemed to be heading towards; the Sky Reach Sanctum tower.

Victoria Addams

Queen of Serpents

Location:
Serpent's Kiss Residence

NPCs
The fading of the sunlight had also meant the fading of the heat. Wintry air swirled around the Serpent's residence, taking every lick of warmth it could. The Queen of Serpents, also known as Victoria, stood in the middle of the garden's residence without care. Today passed by so quickly that she barely had time to relax. All day she attended meetings, discussed plans with the clan, visited others outside the residence. All in all, she barely had time to enjoy and take a breath.

But this evening she was now done with work. It was now her time to relax and enjoy herself. Hence, the reason why she's standing with nothing but a long blue robe loosely tied around her. She enjoyed the biting cold that chilled her fingers into clumsy numbness and the cold that seeped into her toes and spread painfully throughout her bare feet. As she walked around from the east end to the north, she felt the icy paved stones beneath the pads of her feet and she couldn't help but let out a sigh.

Her spending time out in the cold was something that baffled the entire clan since snake demons prefer the heat. But Victoria was different. She had always loved the cold. Maybe that's why they think I'll become a better leader to my clan. Because I'm different

Lost in thought, a single golden leaf pirouetted down an invisible spiral of breeze, spinning through the air as it let itself be carried down. It shook slightly as if it could have been whisked away any second by the grip of icy wind, but it kept floating down the twirling course. It blew past the queen of the serpent’s face and landed lightly on the ground; the shiny, vibrant color standing out against the pristine garden.

Victoria felt her lips tug into a smile. The air around her was pungent with the fragrance of apples and upon letting her eyes stare at the source of the scent, she smiled even more.

There in the middle of the vast garden was an old apple tree with flowers full on bloom. It was planted there by her great grandfather who told her a story with two humans, a snake, and an apple. Victoria had always loved that story. How humanity doomed themselves just because of one tempting snake.

Victoria stepped closer, her eyes focused on the apple tree but stopped when she's almost near the edge of the pond surrounding the tree. From six feet up the surface was an opaque green, but from just two it was clear enough to see the plants and life below the surface. Highly colored snakes swam around the pond and her smile grew wider. They were huge and numerous, each about as long as her arm. She then gazed across the wind-ruffled surface to the lily pads in bloom, their white or magenta petals catching the breeze.

She closed her eyes and inhaled slowly. Peace. Her little piece of heaven inside her chaotic world. Victoria wanted to just stay there and ignore everything around her. This was her moment and no one should dare to ruin it for her.

Hiss

Suddenly, the sound of a snake hissing made Victoria's icy blue eyes snap open. The large black snake that's lazily napping at the apple tree's branch was now hissing loudly and it seems restless, signaling that someone dared to step into the garden. Not a moment too soon, footsteps followed coming inside the house and out of the gardens.

Victoria resisted the urge to roll her eyes at how suffocated she felt. Not more than half an hour and already she was needed for something again.

Raising her hand to signal for guards to stop, she then reached her arm lazily towards the apple tree, only for the large snake to uncurl itself from the branch and slither its way towards her. "An intruder you say?" she murmured towards the snake, only for it to shake its head. "No. Something else?"

The guards then spoke up, informing her of an incident that happened with the Ravinca members.

"Oh? So someone was injured?" Victoria asked with disinterest, not really caring. To be honest, she was not surprised by the incident. After all, knowing about the infested ones was something her family had known of for decades. Past generations of her family were too foolish to even try to have some power to control them resulting for numerous deaths. "And tell me, did any of the serpents die today?"

The guard didn't speak. Typical she thought to herself while petting the snake, her back still facing the guard. She had sent a group of serpents this morning to patrol and investigate the infested ones, see if its anywhere near their territory. By how silent the guard was, she knew someone died and that the infested ones are near. Well, not like I care. To me, they are simply small casualties. Someone that needed to die for the sake of the entire clan

"Double the guards around the residence" Victoria ordered while noticing a bluebird flying towards her. Placing her hand to her side so the snake can slither away from her, she then reached up for the bluebird that immediately changed into a letter. "And make sure to patrol in groups. Only those who are stupid enough to face those monsters die."

Once she was certain she was alone, she read the letter and watched it shatter into ice. It seems the Black Rose wanted to hold a meeting at the Sky Reach Sanctum.

"I wonder what for," she thought out loud, closing her icy blue eyes once again to enjoy her peace and the cold air around her.

Lunasentalist had sent spies earlier in the week, "-being killed for sport by an unknown group". This didn't sit well with him, that it almost got through his level-headed mind." Capitalize Anika". "Thanks for doing an amazing job as always, keeping tabs for me." He said before continuing "We need to set traps in case they come for me". And if the traps don't work, we have skilled warriors and spellcaster to fall back on." Not long after that he looks into the moon and sticks his hand into the wind, to him being closer to the wind than most the wind mana almost seems like it's crying, this is an omen meaning whatever it is the worst has yet to rear its ugly head.
Some of his clansmen burst into his chambers are pretty shaken saying" I know were demons, but we can't help but be ansty and possibly scared of what's come, maybe we should pray for an answer".

Lunasentalist claps his hands together and not long after says" While the gods or higher demons have many answers, sometimes it's best to play things by ear to a point, also keep in mind we have lived this long by keeping our wits about us, surely you don't want to be looked down on by the other demon clans"?
The few clansmen return to their senses and say" We're sorry Master Lunasentalist, and your right we don't want to bring shame to the clan or you". " I know it may seem above our station, but maybe we should start training more specialist fighters and spellcasters so we can be ready for whatever is to come".

Lunasentalis hears them out then nods to the idea of training stronger clansmen, they then vanish and get back to whatever duties they have within the residence. He leans back in his char and says" I like the fact that this group can think outside the box, it's easy to be mindless and just react but it takes a higher person to try and be rational".
in his mind' many humans deem us creatures of the night to be evil and vile, but very a quick to forget their own sins and how ugly they can be, it's a shame really because it would have been nice if things had stayed peaceful, but now my clan like so many others will be drawn into the fray'.
Once alone he takes out the and starts to read it, the Black Rose wanted a meeting at the Sky Reach Sanctum. He then uses a little wind to destroy the letter, better to be safe than sorry.

This was it. Days, weeks, months, and perhaps even years of dedication has led her here where it all began; the city of Haven.

The shrouded woman would look towards the massive walls that comparatively towered over the pathetic structures the humans built. How long had it been since she had returned; too long as the guards didn't seem to recognize her - or perhaps her human form had changed so much that none would recognize her. Carrying a plain pack over her right shoulder, the former-leader would shrug it off and place it into what appeared to be a checkpoint. One of the guards would sift through her bag, examining the contents before pausing, looking to her, then going back to rummaging about. "Is something wrong?", she would question flatly while staring the man down. After a brief moment, he would shake his head and return the bag to her. "Welcome to Haven, Miss Daines.", the guard would state before gesturing for the next person in the line to step forward for checking. Evren would pull up her hood and shuffle her way past the gates into the neutral zone.

Her eyes set upon the stark towering object in the center of the zone, a small smile coming to her lips as she stood motionless in the traffic of bodies. A young woman would stop and glance to the newcomer, offering a smile. "New to the city?", the woman would give the rhetorical question before glancing back at the tower and explaining. "That's Sky Reach Sanctum, a place where the leaders of the four clans meet - should one call a meeting that is. It's also where newcomers usually stay if they can't get any sort of housing right away. You should head inside and check it out!", the demonic woman would chime pleasantly. Evren would put up a look of surprise. "I...didn't know that...Thank you for your help. I'm...surprised demons and humans can live together.", she would comment before glancing to the tower again. "Ah well, not many think we can but it goes to show you how serious we are about peace!"

Evren's eyes glazed over as the woman continued to sputter nonsense about humans and demons living together. Soon enough, the demon's hand would be placed onto Evren's. It caused the disguised human to jump and reach for the woman's wrist, anger in her eyes for a brief moment. "...Please do not touch me.", Evren stated firmly before letting go swiftly. The woman seemed shocked but would nod nonetheless and be on her way after giving short farewell.

The robed woman would begin to move towards the tower, shuffling along akin to an undead being than a person. Exhausted from her journey, even more so from her overall quest for revenge and she was here, she was home. Her mind wanders, thinking of her former friends, family, and brethren. They have probably forgotten about her or thought she was dead; not there was much that kept her in Haven, to begin with.

Finally reaching the entrance of the tower, the disguised demon would enter, feigning a search for information despite her knowledge. The more that people thought she was a human new to the city, the better she could move about with fewer problems. With this goal in mind, the former-leader would sign herself up for temporary lodging in the Sanctum. Her first order of business? watching. The woman found a seat to settle on and watch the people pass by. While most would think she was waiting on someone, others would likely think she was relaxing and enjoying her day, but the truth was she was watching; taking in her surroundings and most importantly, keeping an eye out for possible agents of the Ash Wolves.

E m p t y - C r o w n

Months of interrogation revealed that after the Black Cross' disbandment, a new group emerged calling themselves the Ash Wolves. Evren has been hunting their members ever since she learned of them, finding operation sites and razing whatever drops she finds to weaken them. Ash Wolves - Second in Command
Petra Mallory

There was progress finally with the fight against the demons, the leader of the Ash Wolves had personally gone to infiltrate the city of Haven under the guise of a bar owner. Of course, when the second-in-command figured that out, she wasted little time following suit. Anthony was weeks ahead of her, likely establishing a good repour with the locals. Petra would wipe her face with her human hand, a heavy sigh coming from her as the truck she was on would bounce violently against the road. Irritated, the woman would deliver a series of bangs with her robotic arm to the chassis of the vehicle. "Hey, you mind taking it a little smoother?", the woman would shout loudly to which the driver would reply, "You paid me to take you to Haven, never said anythin' about a comfy ride! We're almost there so hang in there, princess!", the older man would cackle loudly as he seemed to speed up! A grunt of distress would come from Petra, who was now clinging for dear life in the bed of the truck.

Her items were jostled about the bed of the truck, soon closely pinned to her body as the ride got bumpier. It was clear by the look on her face that she was pissed off and nauseous. Being unable to access her cigarettes without nearly being flung off the vehicle didn't sit well with her either. Another large bump flung her and her things into the air and almost off the truck; thankfully she managed to grab the edge before she was completely flung off. "Alright, that's enough!", she would shout, banging on the chassis once again. "Stop the fucking truck!", she yells at the man, who would abruptly halt. This old man was a horrid driver, Petra immediately regretted buying passage to Haven from him. The old man would lean out the lowered window of his truck and peer into his mirror to catch a glimpse of the redhead. "Wha? What's wrong now, princess?", the old man chuckled; he knew exactly what he was doing!

Petra would grab her things and hop off the bed of the truck before replying, "Your fucking horrible driving, old man.", she then grunts and stretches a bit. The servo motors in her prosthetic arm and leg whirring and straining slightly. "Turn around and remember our agreement.", she would wave a hand dismissively. "I can walk the rest of the way." Of course, the old man would snicker and nod a few times. Seems he had this plan all along, most money for the least amount of effort, not like the Wolf cared. As the dirt was kicked up by the hasty elder's retreat with a lump of cash likely to last him a few weeks, Petra would grab a carton of cigarettes and a familiar etched silver lighter. Her right thumb would move along the decorative etching thoughtfully before the fire flickered to life with a single flick. Standing still for a moment, Petra would draw a deep drag of her cancer-stick before exhaling the lungful of smoke slowly. "Fuck that guy was horrid...", she mutters before hoisting her things over her shoulder and carrying on.

Wearing a white sweater with a single large pocket in the front and a pair of black shorts. In order to conceal her prosthetics, Petra wore black leggings underneath her shorts and a black glove that covered her hands. Dark brown boots cover her feet, best for traveling long distances; though these particular pair of shoes have seen plenty of wear and tear over the years. So her treck to Haven began...

The sun had reached its zenith and was quickly dipping towards the horizon by the time she arrived at the gates. "Finally...", the woman would let out a huff as she reached for her pack of cigs. Much to her dismay, she was out and uttered a curse under her breath. With a large sigh, the Wolf would stuff the pack of cigarette butts back into her bag before falling in line for the checkpoint.

This was almost humiliating, people submitting themselves to these checkpoints. Was it for the city's protection or a facade put on to make the humans think they were safe here? Petra's stomach would churn as she approached the checkpoint. She needed to stay calm, but she was nearing the belly of the beast and she felt completely helpless. She didn't bring any weapons with her, those would be smuggled into the city soon enough but she felt so naked without them. Even if her prosthetic arm could double as a weapon given the force she could apply to her strikes with it, it wasn't enough to kill demons with guns.

"Fuck...", she would grumble and clutch her stomach. Of course, people tried to help her, a guard approached to inspect the incident. "Is everything alright here?", Petra was breathing heavily, seeming to be under some sort of panic attack. "I-I'm fine...I just...", her voice would hitch as she tried to speak. "Don't touch me!", she would recoil as the kind souls around her would try to help. Her nose wrinkled in disgust and her face would begin to contort with pain. Everything around her began to spin, skin feeling prickly and numb. Beginning to hyperventilate, Petra's vision blurred and eventually, she collapsed.

The beeping of the EKG woke her up, green eyes snapping wide open. This, of course, caused the EKG to spike with activity. As Petra began to realize she was in a hospital, the monitor would return to a normal pattern. Groaning softly, Petra would move about on the bed, rubbing her head as she became aware of her body's condition; sore, and she felt very tired. A nurse walked into the room, checking the human's chart before giving the amputee a kind smile. "Ah good, you're awake. We didn't find anyone to call...is there anyone you know in the city that we can discharge you to?", she would ask. Petra would give a small hum of thought before shaking her head. "No. Don't got any friends or family here." The nurse would give a nod and glance over Petra's chart once again before placing it back. "Must have been some way to enter Haven...", the hospital staff would comment, which made Petra scoff and shake her head. "Yeah, kinda pathetic isnt' it?" the nurse in reply would shake her head "A lot of people have anxiety, especially when it comes to a place like this. Humans and demons living together...if you're new to the concept it can be scary..." Petra would shake her head and lean back against the propped up pillow. "So, how long are you going to keep me here, hm?" Petra would question with a slight smirk on her lips, clearly, she was in a better mood than before. "Not too long, an overnight stay is recommended though just to make sure nothing else is wrong." To this, Petra would give a shrug and wave a hand. "Not needed, it was just a panic attack. Not the first time it's happened, but it's been quite a long time since I had one." Expression falling flat for a moment, Petra would then dismiss the thoughts in her head with a firm shake of her head.

The Ash Wolf began to move, the nurse coming right over to assist her in getting up. "Let me help you. It's hard to get up after being asleep for a while", the nurse would offer the redhead a hand and assist her when necessary. Petra, on the other hand, thought she could jump right off and start moving around; her body had other plans it seemed. The mechanical side of her body was fully functioning, but her fleshy side was sluggish. She nearly fell over when her feet touched the ground. "Easy, easy...", the nurse would voice her concern as Petra struggled to stand straight. "I'm fine, I'm fine.", she repeats with a grunt. Her prosthetics would whir slightly as she moved to grab the bed for support. "Let's take a few steps, okay?" After what seemed like hours of being stuck in that hospital, the Ash Wolf was finally discharged and left to her own devices.

All information about the Ash Wolf leader revolved around a bar that had cropped up recently, the Last Round. Petra asked around and found it within the neutral zone with relative ease. It was a pretty laid back place, filled with what appeared to be humans. It was here that she decided to inquire about the owner, knowing well enough who it was. To other employees there, she was a new face to the bar and a woman interested in getting a job there. To the owner, Anthony, it may very well be a big surprise that she was here - or perhaps not.

It was only a matter of minutes as the hooded male made his way down the empty streets of the neutral zone that he'd eventually arrive at a large open circular area which held the tower in the center of it all. No matter how many times he had ever come here; whether it was for a meeting or simply to visit and greet newcomers to the city, the sight of the tower had always amazed him at how large and fully decorated in designs from top to bottom. At the very top of the tower a massive structure that almost appeared to be in the shape of horns always made the male ponder just how the founders were able to get that one structure to be floating the way it did since in no way at first glance was it attached to the building whatsoever.

Shaking his head at the idea that he was going to stand there in the middle of the rain just taking in the scenery that he had seen hundreds of times now, the Black Rose leader approached the entrance just to take the few steps upwards to the double glass doors that would lead him inside. His dark gaze shifting upwards only to take a glimpse at the two motionless yet massive stone statues that each held a broadsword crossed over the entrance into the building. Ignoring their presence after gazing up at them, he entered the lobby of the tower just to pull his drenched hood down and eye the room to see who exactly was around.
As expected, there were plenty of new and old faces all around, some humans while other demons; some were checking into new homes while others even checking out for whatever reason they might have, whether it was the fact they joined a clan or they were deciding to leave Haven for their own reasoning. Whatever the case was, the male nodded his head with a warm smile to those who took notice of a leader of one of the clans was there in the lobby.

Greeting those who saw that were new and catching up with those he might've seen already in the past who might've still not chosen a clan to join yet. It wasn't till Avaddon had ended up passing a slightly familiar person that their presence gave a slight nostalgic feeling in his gut, rather than stop and possibly question the person he passed by, he continued on his way towards the elevator in silence. 'What was that...? No...The reports said she died...' Questioning and second guessing himself mentally, the Black Rose leader kept his back turned to the guests while he awaited for the elevator to reach the lobby before finally stepping inside once it reached the main floor. Before the doors could fully shut, Avaddon's dark gaze remained locked upon the slightly familiar woman at the couch until the doors finally shut completely.

Attempting to keep his thoughts clear and focused upon the meeting just so that he did not forget what was important the moment, once the elevator had reached the top floor, he stepped out just to progress his way down a single brightly lit and large hall where a single black door resided on the opposite end of the room. At the door, a man and woman who were dressed fully from head to toe in a black tuxedo stood with their arms behind their backs as they awaited for whoever might approach the door. The floor was restricted to leaders and second in commands of the respected four clans only.
So by the time Avaddon approached the door, the two brought their eyes down upon the male with piercing golden and crimson hues. "Halt. Identify yourself. State your business. Reveal your mark." As the two spoke in unison, Avaddon brought his own gaze to match theirs before pulling down his right shoulder sleeve to reveal the clan symbol of the Black Rose. "I am Avaddon, Leader of the Black Rose Clan. I have called forth a meeting with the other leaders on confidential business." After stating what was asked of him, the two's hues shifted from their golden and crimson hues to light blue after scanning and listening to the voice of the male before finally kneeling before him to allow him to pass.

Immediately stepping through the door, it would lead into a completely pitch black hall with no end in sight. Taking a single step into the hall, the entire corridor would light up with stars as though one was in space. Each step forward left a purplish blue trail that lasted only a few seconds before it faded away. This room was meant to be yet another form of security; only leaders and second in commands that entered this room would be able to light the path with their own energy. Each leader and second in command's enter would differ depending on them. If a stranger stepped into the room and was neither of the respected ranks, the corridor would remain pitch black with no end of a walk to reach the opposite side.

Mere minutes passed and soon enough, Avaddon entered the meeting room which consisted a single black marble-like material round table in the center of a pitch black room that had four chairs surrounding the table. Approaching his own chair, the male took his seat with a heavied sigh before placing both elbows upon the table and interlacing his fingers together to await for the others. Seconds after he had taken his seat, a dim purple light shone down on him and his seat as well as the symbol of the Black Rose clan lighting on the top of his seat to indicate it was his chair.
    "Now...to wait."

Squatting upon the roof of the Serpent's Kiss residence even in the rain, the second in command of the clan eyed his surroundings in silence as he listened in on any type of conversation that might've been worth while as well as eyeing anyone who might've appeared suspicious. Nue hasn't been the second in command for the Serpent's Kiss clan for that long since he had left Ravinca and he's spoken even less with the leader of the clan. His only intentions were to defend the clan and it's leader with whatever energy and strength he had as well as take orders and follow them to the letter, nothing more. He's learned that allowing himself to do anything more than that might end up causing complications and even the possible deaths of clan members that could've been avoided.

While squatted there, out of nowhere the sound of flapping wings soon caught his attention the male drew his sniper and immediately aimed down his sights only to instant lock the location of the flapping wings in his crosshair. 'hm? A bluebird...Hmph. What does Avaddon want?' Questioning himself mentally, Nue watched as the bird flew into the interior of the building to no doubt find Victoria.
Giving it a few minutes in silence to allow the leader to read whatever the bird held as a message, the hooded masked male soon hopped off the roof just to land onto the ledge of the balcony before entering the room where the Serpent's Kiss leader resided. From there, he lowered himself down to one knee while his head was bowed downwards.

To avoid getting rain water drenched in the room, instead of iginiting his entire body; he simply increased his heat to dry himself off almost instantly before any of the water could set into the flooring of the room the leader was within. "Ma'am...Do you require assistance on what the message might be?" As he spoke, he had no clue that the message actually had to do with a meeting with the four leaders.

Not soon after the guards left, the rain started pouring.

The rain has lost the ambient temperature of the day, freezing and paling her skin on contact. The path through the garden was starting to get muddy but Victoria didn't care. She wanted to experience each drop, together and apart, same and different. She wanted to see the droplets soak her eyelashes before it joined their brethren on the ground like saltless tears. She needed to be in this, chaotic and wild, just like her mind and soul - like nature looked right into her and pulled the weather out.

She stood there, her white hair drenched and her robe clinging tightly around her. She had always loved the rain. To her, each raindrop is a kaleidoscope. It always made her wonder that if she could stop time, can she peek through each one of the suspended watery gifts? Perhaps it would be fun to sit inside those raindrops and take that gravity propelled ride to the earth. As she imagined it, a laugh escaped her soft pink lips. Perhaps it wasn't normal to love rain so much, but who cares about normal anyway? Her being a demon, she was certain "normal" is a made-up thing.

Victoria enjoyed the rain for quite a while, finally able to enjoy herself. But the peace didn't last long as another hiss from the black snake was heard. Honestly, what does she have to do to get some peace and quiet? With anger slowly bubbling inside her, Victoria's icy blue eyes flashed gold. It seems the people around her are really testing her patience.

Her visitor was none other than her second in command, Nue.

Victoria had met him not too long ago. She had known about his life story and how he was from Ravinca until he decided to join and serve the Serpents to the best of his ability. Although how he had risen to the ranks in such a short amount of time made the entire clan nervous, the Queen of Serpents doesn't really care. All that matters to her is he's executing her orders perfectly and he knows how to get the job done. As long as he won't make any problems or complications, Victoria will let him live. Besides, she quite enjoyed Nue's company and how they have similar views on life. They both think all connections are absolutely pointless and a sign of weakness.

"Nue" she greeted with a wicked smile, her golden eyes twinkling with delight. Victoria was now in a mood and she figured why not play with her second in command? Its something she's been doing with him whenever she's annoyed and ever since he joined the clan.

"Where have you been, my dear?" she asked once again while she made her way inside the residence, completely ignoring the fact that she's drenched and that she's getting rainwater everywhere. Her pale fingers lifted Nue's chin as Victoria wanted him to look at her. "You didn't disobey me again, did you?"

Not waiting for his answer, Victoria took a step away from him and turned around, already making her way towards a tatami mat so she can sit down. "Well, no matter. As long as you get the job done and doesn't betray my trust, you are free to visit that tomb"

Once seated, Victoria started removing her drenched robe, not caring that Nue was in the room. What is there for her to hide anyway? She's damn proud of her body! Besides, it's not like Nue hasn't seen a woman's body before. "Would you grab a towel and dry my hair, dear? You know how I hate it when the maids do it. They turn my beautiful hair into a tangled mess"

"And I am certain you saw the bluebird,"
she muttered, her voice now laced with irritation. "Avaddon wants all of the clan leaders to attend his little meeting. He didn't say what for and that irritates me. Seriously, if my attendance is so important, he should be the one coming here. Not the other way around!"

Sighing deeply as she realized she was starting to lose her patience, she muttered once again, this time her voice was soft. Tired. Vulnerable. "Prepare what is needed. In half an hour, we will be going to the Sky Reach Sanctum."

"Oh, and do wear something nice. I cannot let you humiliate my clan"

Mentions - Bingling (@Iceydaze), Victoria (@DANAsaur) and probably Evren (@Nunali)

If Azrael knew there would be rain on his way to the Sky Reach Sanctum, he probably would've brought a raincoat or something to cover him from the annoying rain. Not that he needed it, though. He simply can use the unnatural heat from his body to dry his clothes and body any time, but feeling the sting of the raindrops when they hit his face as he flew through the cloudy skies was nothing cool at all. He literally had to lift his right hand in front of his eyes to protect them from the rain. And let's not talk about the sudden extra weight he was feeling on his back as his wings were getting soaked.

"Ugh, this fucking meeting better be important," Azrael growled under his breath, frowning with annoyance. "Or I'm fucking punching Avaddon's stupid face!"

A sudden scoffed echoed inside Azrael's head, followed by a few giggles that, as always, he found annoying. "You're such a grumpy cat, Darling," said Murasame with a playful giggly tone. "A little bit of rain won't kill you, so relax." Sighing, Azrael clicked his tongue as he flapped his pitch-black raven wings a couple of times before gracefully gliding onward, the familiar tower structure of the Sanctum finally visible a couple of miles in the distance. "It's easy for you to say that when you're all tidy, comfy, and warm inside my arm," replied the black-haired guy. "What about if we switch places, mmh? I bet you won't be happy either."

"Huh, duh, of course!" said Murasame with a scoff. "I would be ruining my beautiful hair, and that's a no-no for me, Darling."

Rolling his eyes to his right, Azrael shook his head before returning his gaze to the road in front of him, deciding to just ignore Murasame for now. Now, he was regretting leaving Bingling behind as he was feeling kind of lonely without her usual company. However, as he remembered how cranky and pissed she gets when somebody interrupts her sleeping routines, a faint voice deep inside his head told him that he did well in not waking her up. An angry Bing was practically the only thing Azrael finds scary, and nobody could blame him for that, honestly.

It took Azrael a couple of minutes to finally reach the Neutral Zone. As his sharp sense of smell caught the rancid smell of death and who knows what other things are in this damned place, the Ravinca leader wrinkled his nose in disgust. No matter how many times he came across this place, there was no way he would be able to get used to the smell this place. Not even humans deserve to live here, and he wondered why in the world the Sanctum tower is located here. The beautiful and breath-taking tower just seems way out of place, like a gem in the middle of a pile of trash.

When Azrael reached the area where the Sanctum was located, he carefully hovered above an empty spot where he could land. As his feet touched the ground, he let go a deep sigh. "Damn it, I officially the hate rain now," he mumbled as he flapped his wings a couple of times to dry out some of the rain from it. He accidentally created a small gale that caught the attention of a few people that passed by the Sanctum, some of which had to cover their eyes to protect them from the dust.

"Oh, um... Oops," said Azrael once he realized the small commotion his wings created. Chuckling with amusement, he retracted his wings back to his arms and back, revealing once again his raven's wings tattoo. He also increased the heat of his body just enough to dry his clothes and hair, which cause some steam to come out from his body. His clothing consisted of a plain long-sleeved white shirt, with a pair of black pants, and his dark brown hunter boots. On top of it, he had a cape that was black outside and red inside, with a few golden buttons. This was the typical outfit Azrael preferred to use pretty much on every occasion as he was the type of guy that disliked dressing all fancy. This has earned him a lot of dismissive glares from Victoria, the Serpent's Kiss leader, but it's not that Azrael gives a damn about a crazy and weird woman with a creepy obsession with snakes.

How they ended up being in a relationship 5 years ago was now a mystery to Azrael. Yes, Victoria was a beauty when it comes to every aspect of her flawless body, but deep inside, Azrael realized she's was kind of manipulative, and a control freak that always wanted everything to go her way, which was something that always collided with Azrael also controlling habits. He is now trying to control that aspect of himself, though, but Victoria doesn't seem to change any sooner. However, he does miss those passionate times they had, though, but only a little.

"Meh, good thing we broke up in good terms," he mumbled as he shrugged with a smirk, turning to his right to head toward the entrance of the tower. As always, this whole place was bursting with people, both human and demons. As Azrael made his way inside the tower through the big double glass doors, the noises of people talking and walking around the place assaulted Azrael's ears, but it was all in a good way. Azrael loved this place, especially greeting the newcomer demons that checked in on their search for a better life. About the humans, though, Azrael wasn't that happy but either was against it, though. Even when he dislikes them at heart, Azrael believed that everyone deserved the right to work and fight for a better life, and Haven was the perfect place for that.

With a warm and solemn smile, Azrael greeted those that noticed his arrival and exchanged a few words to those that he knew. He was quite a popular guy, so he had to say hi to a lot of people, mostly demons.

"Oh, oh! Look, Mom! That's Azrael, that's Azrael!"

A human child that was located in the middle of the Lobby shouted with excitement as he spotted Azrael. He was hopping on his feet while pointing at Azrael, her mother nervously grabbing him by his hand and preventing him to run toward the demon. "For the love of God, Alex, calm down!" the mother scolded her son. "I have told you to stay away from them. They're not celebrities you can just stalk for an autograph." The kid frowned with a pout before pulling his arm, releasing his hand from his mother's grasp. "I don't want an autograph, Mom! I just want to say hi to him. He's like the best demon in all Haven. I can't miss this 'oppotunity', so sorry, Mom!"

With an excited giggle, Alex began to run toward Azrael, her mother gasping with shock as she tried to grab him from behind, but the kid was already gone.

With a wide and exciting smile, Alex rushed through a crowd of people walking by and stopping to do their businesses. The child bumped with a couple of them, which gave him death glares and a couple of insults not suitable for children. Ignoring the ever angry people of the Sanctum, Alex finally arrived at the corner where Azrael was, just in time to hear one of his many tales as a Bounty Hunter. He had quite a crowd in front of him and as always, he was smiling excitedly. Narrating the tales of his many adventures was like Azrael's favorite thing to do.
Realizing he's couldn't take a good look at Azrael nor hear clearly what he was telling, Alex cutely pouted his cheeks before quickly slipping between the people in front of him, whispering a few apologizes. Once he was finally in front of the crowd, Alex lifted his head, his eyes finally staring at his greatest idol.

"It wasn't an easy fight, but knowing that it was my duty to finally put an end to her reign of terror, I determined my soul and body to fight Murasame," Azrael began to say, lifting his right arm with pride. "And then we fought. Our swords clashing against each other while our bodies danced at an invisible rhythm only our souls could hear. We exchanged a few hits here and there, but none of us were willing to just give up easily. So far, that was the most exciting and honorable fight I ever had. You guys already know the end of the story. Only one of us climbed down that mountain victorious."

Nodding and laughing impressed, the crowd in front of Azrael burst out clapping, and when the proud demon leader asked who wanted to touch his arm with the Murasame, they all lunged forward to touch the arm, accidentally pushing aside Alex, which fell on his knees on the floor. Unfortunately for the poor child, he scratched his knees, making him flinch as he felt the sting of the scratches. As he stood up, he almost fell again as he felt once again he sting. With teary eyes and sniffing, Alex looked down at his knees, which had slight bleeding on top of the scratches.

"Hey, kid, are you okay?" asked Azrael, finally being able to notice Alex. Widening his eyes with shock as he heard him, Alex quickly stood straight, ignoring his pain, and looked up at Azrael. "A-A-Ah...! I-I-I mean...! Y-Yes, I'm okay, sir!" he practically shouted. It was a good thing that the crowd from before left already. Scoffing with amusement, Azrael moved his gaze towards Alex's knees, noticing the scratches and catching this rusty smell of blood. Human blood smelled totally different from a demon's, so Azrael knew instantly the kid in front of him was a human indeed.

Nodding, Azrael reached the inside of the right pocket of his pants, taking out two band-aids. "We should take care of those now before they get infected," he said with a smile as he knelt on his left knee. Blushing faintly, Alex stood still as Azrael attended his scratches knees, opening the wrapping of the band-aids before carefully putting them on the child's knees. Once he made sure his job was at least okay, Azrael nodded and looked back at the Alex with a smile. "That will do until you attend the scratches properly."

Alex quickly nodded and then bowed, sweating nervously. "T-T-Thank you so much, sir! Y-You didn't have to, but really, REALLY thank you, anyways," said Alex. Suddenly, he heard how Azrael burst in laughter. "As much as I appreciate the formalities, I'm not that old, kid," he said with a smirk and gently rubbed the top of Alex's head with his right hand, playfully ruining his hair. "O-Oh! I-Isn't there where Murasame l-l-lives!?" asked Alex with wonder, attentively staring at Azrael's right hand. The proud demon nodded and leaned closer his arm to the Alex.

"Yes, she lives here. Go ahead and touch it if you like. It won't hurt you, but you will feel a sudden heat at-"

Before Azrael could finish his sentence, Alex was already touching his arm with both of his hands, gasping with an exciting wide grin. As Azrael said, he felt a strange heat coming from below the skin of the arm, but weirdly enough, it didn't hurt him. In fact, the heat felt really warm against his cold hands. "This is the best day of my whole life!" said Alex, laughing happily. Azrael scoffed while staring at him kind of curious and intrigued by why a human child would be so excited about meeting a demon. Isn't he supposed to be scared of him like most children? He could only guess that some humans are just strange.

"Alex! Oh, my God! Get away from him!" Blinking in confusion, both Alex and Azrael turned their heads to their right just to see a scared and worried woman rushing through, quickly grabbing Alex from behind and pulling him away from Azrael. She hugged her child tightly and stepped back from Azrael. Smiling with confusion, Azrael slowly stood straight and Alex quickly pushed himself away from his mother's grasp. "Mom! Why are you embarrassing me in front of everyone again!?" shouted Alex, blushing with shame and anger. Taking a deep breath, the mother looked down at him with a really pissed expression, pointing at him. "I told you to stay away from them! Why you never listen to me, mmh? Do you want to end up like your father? Do you!?"

With tears in his eyes, Alex jumped on his feet. "I'm so tired of that story, Mom! Move on already! Dad is dead, but it's not that he was a good person to both of us! We are better with him gone!" Gasping with shock, the mother quickly grabbed Alex by his arm and began to walk away, heading to the exit of the tower. "Shut up, you stupid kid! You know nothing! We're leaving now! We can't be here anymore as they can be watching us even right now!" As he got dragged against his will, Alex began to yell and throw a tantrum.

As they left the building, Azrael just stood where he was with an awkward poker face, kind of feeling that they were fighting because of him. "Well, damn... Some humans, huh?" he mumbled, sighing while rubbing the back of his head. With nothing else to do, Azrael headed to the elevator and pressed the button to call in the elevator. As he waited, his nose suddenly caught the scent of a familiar demon, but it wasn't that from Bing. It was from somebody much closer to him. Frowning, Azrael turned around and scanned everything and everyone with his eyes.

"This smell... Could it be...? No, it can't be. They said she died. D-Did she really, though?"

As Azrael took a step forward, his nose now caught the familiar scent of Bingling and her stinky dog-like creature that looks more like something taken out from a creepy nightmare. He told her to stay in the manor and take her duties as Second in Command, but she was here now. That only means that she probably is upset with him for leaving her behind.

"Oh, shit, she probably going to scold the shit out of me," Azrael said with nervous sweat, swallowing hard as he slowly moved his head to look at the entrance doors, expecting Bingling to walk in with her usual "bitch face" expression.

How long had it been since she had been sitting there? Minutes? Hours? Did it really matter? No...not when a familiar face walked through the doors. Stoic as always, the Black Rose leader would greet his people. How tiring it must all be...being free from her role has allowed her to take the world in a different view, away from the tiresome socializing that was mandatory as a leader. Now, she was a figure in the crowd that no one would remember...no one did remember. As the man stepped into the elevator and locked his gaze upon her, the rim of her hood had kept her golden eyes concealed from his. Once the doors to the elevator shut, Evren would give a slight smirk. "It was good to see you, Avaddon...", she muttered quietly before rising from her seat to move towards the entrance. Having Avaddon react that way made her realize something, she was detectable by the other leaders - by other demons actually - and those closest to her would know her power or aura well. 'I guess it's time I fix that.'

Just as she was moving towards the cascade of glass doors, Evren would notice another figure entering and he looked like a drenched cat. His wings brought up a slight whirlwind which caused her to grip her hood tightly to keep herself covered. Everyone swarmed the man...and it was when his wings were tucked away that she saw the tattoo that she once bore on her body; a hand would move to her right shoulder and grip it firmly in remembrance. With her exit now blocked by the mass of people, Evren would turn to a nearby seat to wait out the flock of people. That's when her eyes caught the little boy trying to fight through the crowd to reach the Ravinca leader. When he fell, her paternal instincts still kicked in and the demoness would rise to her feet quickly only to stop herself and force herself to sit down and watch the scene unfold.

Eventually, the screams of the human mother would irk the demon enough to shoot a glare at the human woman, who just so happened to catch a glimpse of Evren's golden eyes on her way out. It struck fear in the human as her steps increased rapidly and she would occasionally look behind her as she continued on her way. The Ravinca leader seemed to stop and search the crowd, that's when Evren would frown and make her way out as swiftly as possible. There was no need to get caught now...

Hastily Evren found her way in the seedier parts of the city as she was in search of a way to suppress her power temporarily. I was a hole in the wall joint, likely where she could pay people not to ask questions and obtain a charm that could suppress her powers for the duration that she is in within Haven, or at least until she needs her powers. This will make her defenseless...but it's why she had her human weapon.

The shop had no bell, but as she entered a short old man hobbled from the back of the store and to the front. "Kehehe...Welcome, welcome! What can I help you with?", he would greet in a rather mischevious tone. Evren would silently walk towards the display case of charms and point one out. "Ah...A woman who knows what she wants...Excellent!" the elder would rub his hands together greedily before attempting to take a peek under her hood to which Evren would frown and point again firmly to the charm. "Kehehe playing hard to get I see..." the lecherous old coot would lean back and wave a hand dismissively. "Fine, fine...though since you're here, I'm sure that means you don't want to be seen hmmm?", he would make idle chatter and yet still Evren was silent.

From under her robe came a thin holographic bit the size of a modern-day cellphone with a simple frame. The thing displayed an amount that made the elder's eyes bulge. "R-R-Right!", he would comment and nod swiftly. Tucking away the display, she would produce a hefty sack of physical currency. "Not many people use that these days...", the man would comment before sliding over the charm. As Evren reached to grab the charm, the man would take her hand and hold it tightly. "Don't I get just one peek? Kehehe..." Evren would raise a hand to pull down her hood just enough so he would see those gleaming golden eyes and her face. The old man paled and his eyes bulged once more. "Not a word...or I will raze your disgusting little shop..." and with that, Evren snatched the charm, replaced her hood, and walked out the door.

She returned to the Sanctum but this time, she went into her quarters where she sat on the bed and let slip a heavy sigh. With the hood down now, she would stare out the window at the city. The rain kept coming...it reminded her of better times. A sudden flash of Nue's face would cause her to jump and shake her head swiftly. Was he even still alive? Why was she thinking about him now?!

Lunaus is using his wind magic to get the sky sanctuary , the rain bouncing off him, he accidently knocks over a few bystanders along the way, he cringes a little but continues.
He starts to jump from building to building to speed things up then when he sees there's no more traffic he goes back down to street level.
His eyes bouncing from his to side, his heart racing from the pure pleasure, in his mind I love how the wind feels passing over my body, this what I means to truly be free.
He picks up speed and makes one push to the sky santury.
After ten minutes he gets there and stops with such grace. The gaurds look confused at first then remember who he is and let him in.
He then heads to the elevator, he presses the button and its not long before it comes down.
He gets in and presses for the top level, his heart rate still racing a little.
After a while he gets near the top and is fixing him self up, after five minutes he's done, the lift reaches the top and it opens he steps out.
He then starts to look around, thinking the letter didn't say what room, should I wait for someone else to show up'

Even when the demoness leader had acknowledged his presence in the same room as her by calling out his name, Nue kept his head lowered while keeping his position still the kneeled before her to await for any possible order that she might have for him. Once the woman questioned about his presence the entire time, he only nodded his head once in response before speaking up. "Madam, I have been on the roof of the residence as well as patrolling the territory for any possible dangers of any sorts." Replying without the slightest bit of stutter of what he had done was possibly wrong and there possibly leading to a punishment in the end for it.

As Victoria approached him only to raise his head and have his own dark gaze come to meet her own. Listening to the woman's question, even if she did not give him time to respond fully, the emptiness in his hues clearly showed the resolve that he had no intentions of betraying the woman for any possible reasons. So by the time she released his chin, Nue would lower his head once more to have his gaze locked on the ground to show his respects to the woman. "Of course madam, I will always make sure whatever task you give me is completed perfectly...no mess-ups or unnecessary causalities.." Speaking with confident while ignoring the comment about visiting 'that' tomb, Nue only remained silent right after his response.

Soon after the woman had taken her seat on the tatami mat only to begin removing her robe, he'd keep silent as she had commanded him to get her a towel and dry her hair. With a single nod of his head, Nue stood to his feet just to head over towards the nearest cabinet that contained the towels just to return to Victoria with it in hand. As he approached the leader, he made sure to stand behind her as he brought the towel up to her hair to brush through it carefully, making sure the whole while that he would not tug too hard or be too rough with the drying to accidentally damage her hair in anyway.

During the drying process, Nue continued to remain silent until the bluebird from earlier was brought up. It seemed as though the leader of the Black Rose clan was calling for a meeting. "I shall prepare everything...Shall I inform the others to prepare anything here while we are away?" As he spoke, although he did not speak it out loud, his thoughts on Avaddon were not exactly the greatest since he believes partially that it is Avaddon's fault for the previous Ravinca leader's death since he's the only one that still remains as a leader from the earlier years.

A sigh alerted Anthony as he was preparing breakfast, his gloved hands picking up a tray as he walked through the ornate house of his 'host'- A Female Demon that he had met last night in the bar. Her home was designed after a roman villa- gilded windows, portraits of historical and mythological scenes, bronze-cast furnishing, freestanding sculptures, Anthony was actually quite curious if this demon had been around during the ancient Empire's glory days. One of the greatest human civilizations that had ever existed, but fell due to internal corruption and infighting. A common theme for humanity, as sad as it may seem, but one to learn a lesson from.

Deceit and Betrayal are everywhere- One must remain vigilant.

Placing breakfast onto the tray, he'd walk into the fabulously furnished bedroom of his host- Her name, if he was correct, was Isabelle Travis. Setting the tray down on the end-table next to the bed, Anthony would pull back the furnishing and give a small grin towards the figure. "Rise and shine beautiful, the day is young." He said, in a perfectly imitated suave voice. God- He hated sounding like this, it made him sound like a fucking tool. Granted, he did sleep with a demon, his standards were not exactly 'high', but he attributed this to the fact that he was simply doing his job, nothing more and nothing less.

"Mmm~ Last night was fun. Breakfast in bed too? Oh, I might just have to keep you~" She would grab the mug of coffee and take a long drought. "Ahh, that hit the spot. Perfect Hangover killer!"

"I thought Demons couldn't get drunk easily on conventional alcohol?"

"Depends on the Alcohol count."

Anthony would nod and write that down for later, before closing his flipbook. "So, what is on the agenda for today?"

Isabelle would stretch and sit up, before taking a bite of toast. "Guard Duty mainly- The leaders are meeting at Sky Reach Sanctum, so we'll mainly be centered around there. Personally, If I can avoid it, I'd rather not deal with Serpent's Kiss- Those fuckers are weird. Buuuut~" She would wink towards Anthony. "It means I get to spend time with my favorite bartender later."

Anthony would smirk. "So that is what you were reading yesterday at the bar. That notice?"

"Yup, The bosses don't want anyone trying to play at anything later, so they are keeping most of their people centered around there. Patrols will be out and about, but not in the same numbers. Mainly to keep people honest."

Anthony would stand up. "Well, thank you for that bit of Information, Isabelle Travis, but I think it's time we cut this short."

"Oh? What are you-"
She would suddenly stop as she began holding onto her heart, coughing and making dry heaves, before vomiting. A torrent of blood would come, causing her to fall to the floor.

"Ah, so even diluted with other substances, Holy Water is still effective when administered orally- Good to know." Anthony would say, walking over towards her bag and taking the guard rotation notice.

"Y-you...."

"Poisoned you? Yes. I must say, you lasted longer than most- truly a sign of your clan and the strength of their power." Anthony said, a small smile on his face, as he'd take a key and clean out her safe- make it look like a simple robbery. "Thank you for your donation to our cause, Miss Travis, but the Ash Wolves no longer need your services....goodbye."

With his task completed, Anthony Wilkerson, Leader of the Ashwolves, left the building, leaving the demon woman to die as her insides were melting from the holy water. Pressing a finger to his ear, he'd speak up. "Camera's taken care of?"

An Ashwolves Hacker would speak up on the other end. "Data is clear- no-one saw anything."

"Good. Have the cleaners make sure no trace was left, I want nothing linking us back, then tell everyone to get ready- Tonight is the night."

"We are finally starting this war in earnest now?!"

Anthony would look towards the rotation map and smirk. "They won't even see it coming...."

___________________________________________________________________________________

The Last Round was Anthony's Safe Haven, the only place in the entire city where he didn't have to sleep with one eye open. The moment he stepped in, he went into the apartment he had above to get rid of the demon stench from his skin. He knew that what he had to do in order to fight the demon filth was important, his own purity being null in the matter, but he didn't like the thought of these tainted creatures being close enough to touch him, let alone sleep with them. After a long soak, Anthony would come down, aiming to head to the basement to call together the other cells of Ashwolves, before seeing someone he didn't expect-

Petra. The closest thing he had left to family.

Petra was taken in by Anthony's father after Feral's slaughtered the town that she lived in. When he first met her, parts of her were missing, and his father wasn't about to abandon an innocent child to the world. She was given prosthetics, training, and a new life among the Black Cross. Anthony entrusted her with finding other members for this operation, and over the time since their last meeting, their numbers had continued to grow. Out of everyone inside the organization, who they recruited and took in, Petra was the one he trusted above all else, the only one in the entire world that he knew without a shadow of doubt, would have his back in the coming days.

Walking over, he'd pull Petra into a hug, tightly embracing the woman. "Hey Sis....It's great to see you." He said, before pulling away, checking on her as he had learned to do instinctively over the years. He would wave his hand over towards the bartender on payroll right now. "Oi, Odo! Get here anything she likes, this is family here!"

"Coming right up, Boss."

Anthony would then let Petra have her space. "How was the ride in here? Did you eat anything? Want me to make you something real quick?" Anthony asked. He would quickly look around the Bar, seeing no demons at the moment, before leaning in closer.

"Tonight is the night- I got the guard rotation and some news. All cells are to be on active for when we hit and hit hard- You're going to need your strength up, so please....eat something."

Anthony cared for Petra more than anyone else- She was all the family he had left in this world, he didn't know what would happen if something happened to her.

Bingling Leng

Azrael’s scent was growing stronger by the passing second. It was the kind of scent that wouldn’t wash away even with the rain pouring around her. It was so tantalizing, Bing had to keep Reaper from knocking her off and going full speed. Poor thing actually thought she’d actually let him have this special snack she had been waiting years for. What a joke.

Once the unusual pair got close enough to the neutral zone, Bingling sent Reaper away and walked the rest of the way on foot. She had already been scolded by Azrael enough for allowing him to scare the other clan members, nothing to say of innocent civilians. Bingling had seen many demons have a strong loathing for humans, but she had never seen someone like Azrael who treated both humans and demons the same way. He seemed to always be in a bad mood but at the same time, he didn’t treat any of them with absolute loathing. Bing wished to take him to see a doctor, but she soon remembered that she was technically the doctor of their clan. ’I guess everyone will just have to accept that our glorious leader will never truly be sane.’

As she turned a corner and entered the building, she finally managed to spot him. It wasn’t hard. There was a large crowd around him, listening to whatever he was talking about. It seemed his bout of insanity was acting up again. Perturbed by the crowd, she moved back outside into the pouring rain and watched from a window, choosing to follow him once he moved away. Even now, she wasn’t completely aware of what they were doing here. ’Could it have something to do with what happened to Ying?’

She didn’t have the time to think about it any further as a child made their way towards the Ravinca leader. Both worried and eager to see what would happen, Bingling watched with rapt attention. It wouldn’t be the first time a human would sacrifice a child to kill off a demon. Would a bomb be strapped to the child again? Is the kid himself a weapon of some sort? Or is he just a distraction? The possibilities were endless.

The scene wasn’t nearly as interesting as she had imagined it to be. The situation diffused itself with the mother pulling the child away. ”How peculiar..” Watching the two as they left, she soon lost sight of Azrael once more. Not that it mattered. Bing lifted her nose and dutifully tracked his scent. Though harder to find in a crowd, she eventually picked up on it again. She took her time about it. Her human host’s legs were short and useless. She was far from the fastest in the clan and wasn’t one to waste energy on such tiring activities. It wasn’t as if Azrael was running away from her, right?

The thought irritated her when she realized he had abandoned her only moments ago. A foreign feeling rushed her forward. Bing followed the scent to the elevators. Not even hesitating to dry herself, she rushed in to find Azrael staring right back at her from an open elevator. Had he expected her to follow? She wasn’t sure. Whatever worries she had, rested the moment she saw him alive and well, just as she had left him. No longer in a sour mood, Bing left a trail of water behind her with every step she took towards the elevator.

Once inside, she looked him over once more to find he had actually remembered to dry himself. Looking herself over, she found herself soaked. Would this make Azrael look bad in the eyes of whoever he was here to meet? Unlike Azrael who could actually take care of such things on his own, Bing lacked the ability to dry herself at any given time and wasn’t exactly prepared for anything ever. It wasn’t like she had any information to work with this time around either. She did always take a hooded jacket with her, however. Even though she never wore the hood, she found it comfortable.

Looking down at it now, she removed it, revealing the black satin camisole she wore to bed underneath. The hot pink lace accents gave her fair skin a touch of warmth, giving her a bit more of a human feel that her usual pale tone usually lacked. Standing on her tiptoes as if it would help her to get a better reach, Bing proceeded to use the warm inner lining to dry her own hair. It wouldn’t do to embarrass their leader. "So what exactly are we here for? You have the length of this elevator ride to explain. Start."

Ash Wolves - Second in Command
Petra Mallory

When she spotted Anthony, her heart skipped a beat - thank God he was alright. Petra breathed a sigh of relief as he embraced her, body jolting a bit at the unsolicited hug. Normally, she would have freaked out if it was someone else but, he was family. She opened her mouth to speak only to shut it as he called out to one of his bartenders. When all was quiet, she would again try to speak only to be questioned by Anthony. Petra had a slightly annoyed look on her face but she would soon give a dry smile. "Nice place you've got. Well, you've certainly made your home here." Her mind would flash to the incident back at the gates, immediately shaking the memory she would wave a hand dismissively. "It was fine. Need a smoke and a drink though...", she raised her voice a bit for Odo to hear - at least about the drink part, a small smirk crossing her lips as he gave her an inquisitive look. "Whatever you have that's strong is fine.", she would then add something under her breath "Been a while since I've had something good..." Once Odo delivered the drink, Petra would grab the glass and take a whiff of it before gulping it all down. The glass would hit the bar and a heavy sigh was let lose from her lips. "Fuck. That's good stuff.", she would rub her face and pinch the bridge of her nose. "Thank you.", she mutters before looking to Anthony with widening eyes as he drew closer to her to whisper.

"You're insane...", she mutters softly with a smirk on her lips before running her human hand through her hair. "Right...got something I could use? Kind of hard to get certain items in the city.", despite her quiet voice her eyes would move around the bar. Sure, he felt comfortable enough to talk around the patrons but Petra was always careful; it was hard for her to relax especially in a foreign setting. Her voice would return to normal volume, a small chuckle coming to her lips as she feigns humor with his concern. "I'm not really hungry but...I should eat...You know me, I'm not picky.", adding a shrug at the end of her statement, she glances over to the bar and moves to sit and lean her cheek on her prosthetic left hand while her elbow was propped on the bar. "So what have you been up to?", she would inquire as she takes in his appearance. "The people here say you've got a popular place. Was surprised when I heard it was here in one of the districts as opposed to the neutral territory."

Victoria sat on the tatami mat while Nue dried her hair, her mind spinning with thoughts. She couldn't help but wonder why Avaddon wanted everyone to attend a meeting. Is it because of the killings or did he want to catch up for old times sake? Whatever his reason is, the Queen of Serpents felt a bit anxious. Meeting with everyone will only bring memories. Most that are best forgotten.

Her first thought dwelled on Avaddon, the leader of the Black Rose clan. Her relationship with Avaddon was almost non-existent. They've met and talked a couple of times regarding the clans but other than that there's nothing else they've talked about. The two of them strictly kept a professional relationship and to be honest, it was starting to get a bit boring for her. So sometimes, when she's really in the mood, she tries to tease the leader of the Black Rose clan.

Her next thought went to the leader of Bloody Moon, Lunasentalist. Victoria hated him to the core. Just once glance at him can easily make Victoria's blood boil. She didn't know why but not only did she find Lunasentalist weird, everything he does irk her.

Lastly, her thought dwelled on Azrael, the leader of Ravinca. Victoria and he had a pretty rough relationship. They used to be friends that soon turned into lovers before their relationship became a complete mess. No one really knows what went wrong five years ago but Victoria had a feeling that the leader of Ravinca couldn't handle her. Well, it's his loss. Although Victoria sometimes misses the passionate nights they spent together, its nothing other demons can't fix.

The Queen of Serpents let out a sigh. How was it that just a thought can bring long-buried emotions and stir what was settled? Perhaps that's why folks say to leave things be, to not go walking into the past so blindly.

Soon, Victoria snapped out her thoughts when she realized that Nue was waiting for an answer. Deciding to just nod her head in hopes that will answer his question, she then stood up and began calling the maids. "Leave us be, Nue. I need to get ready"

An hour later, Victoria, along with her pet snake and second in command arrived at the Sky Reach Sanctum.

The Sky Reach Sanctum loved Victoria in ways no person nor demon ever has. It listened to her fierce footsteps, the clicking of her polished heels against its tiled floor. It saw her smile ear to ear when she sees the windows reflect the ethereal glow of the moon. It empathizes with her frustrated groan long past midnight when she's annoyed and doesn't want to go home. It hears her satisfied sigh in winter when she decided to visit to find warmth. It celebrated with her when she became the clan leader and cried for her when her comrades died. The Sanctum sees and hears and feels every important moment of her life. The Sanctum understands.

"Thus, the Sanctum shall be mine"

Victoria entered the Sanctum with a sly smile and immediately Everyone who saw her stopped and stared, their mouths either hanging wide open or closed to stop themselves from drooling. The Queen of the Serpent's Kiss is always a sight to see. She entered the lobby with the cold wind billowing around her kimono. Most paid attention to her beauty as she waltzed on with an effortless saunter with her head held high. The clicking of her heels added rhythm to the soft murmurs of those around her.

To Victoria, this was normal. She was used to being seen and gawked at. After all, no one can compare to her beauty. She saw a couple of people she slept with and gave them a wink. As if on a spell, the men and women immediately started making their way towards her only to stop when her pet snake hissed.

Victoria let out a melodious laugh, her eyes shifting from blue to gold. It was fun to see them acting like fools. She wanted to play more but seeing Nue reminded her that she had a meeting to attend to. Thus, she entered the elevator with her posse and headed upstairs.

Soon, Victoria finally reached the top floor and met the guards. "Hello, darlings" the serpent queen greeted while removing her kimono to show her mark. Although it annoyed her to no end that they had to do this whenever they had to attend a meeting, Victoria could do nothing but hear with it. She knew that the guards already knew who she is but for formalities sake, she introduced herself. "Victoria Addams, Queen of the Serpent's Kiss. I am here to attend the meeting"

The two guards kneeled before her and Victoria could only roll her eyes. She didn't even bother to properly fix her kimono around her and just went for the sexy look.

Upon entering the final room, Victoria resisted screaming. There was no one else there except for her and Avaddon! As said before, they have nothing else to talk about except business so clearly, Victoria won't even try to start a conversation with him.

Thus, she completely ignored Avaddon and took a seat on her throne, waiting for someone else that she can talk to.

Victoria Addams

Queen of Serpents

Lunus came to the end of the hall, showed the guards his mark they then say" welcome Lunus". He gently smiles as he had watched it play out then says" I have no interest in Victoria, unlike other men, I've learned that women that stunners are the least trustworthy as a rule, you would be wise no to be taken in so easily in the future". The gaurds are taken back by what he said, but they know he's not a man that says stuff with out a reason, they open the door for him and then he walks through. True to his word he completely ignores Victoria, he then says" ay Avaddon it's been a while since I last saw you, I do hope that you have been looking after your self".
