Note: This is an archive thread for the demographics project. Below, you can find links and stats on every demographics thread that has been created thus far. Threads are going up on a weekly basis. If you wish to be informed whenever additional stats have been gathered, simply subscribe to this thread, as I'll be posting whenever major updates occur. (Minor updates may go without bumps, because it would be a rood dood thing to constantly demand attention via bump spamming, wouldn't it?)

Also, @Minibit here. I said ages ago I was going to do a thing for your roleplay discussion section stuff. This is that thing. :ferret:

  • Will have first report info soon.
  • -----Update 1-----

Added Demographics 01. Playing around with formatting. Disclaimer left alone.

    -----Update 2-----

Updated poll statistics on Demographics 01, updated formatting to a tabular format. (Because tabs!) Changelogs in updates left minimalist: I could bulletpoint them, but that would require more effort than the updates tab is really worth.

    -----Update 3-----

Updated poll statistics on Demographics 01--it accrued over 50 votes! Created Demographics 02, which is about the number of role plays people are part of. Tweaking wording of questions to try and allow for more specific answers as opposed to open ended ones which are up to user interpretation. Asking staff about the potential to allow threads to stay in GD for one week, before being moved permanently to RP Help & Discussion, to allow both sections ample opportunity to answer the polls, and allow these polls to grow in potential sampling size.

    -----Update 4-----

Updated poll statistics on Demographics 02. It also accrued over 50 votes! Added an achievements tab for demo threads. Started Demographics 03. The purpose for achievements is merely to show roughly how many votes something managed to achieve in 25 vote blocs. Updated poll statistics on Demographics 01. After conferring with Diana and Astaroth via PM, I've been given the green light to post demo threads in GC for one week, then move them via request to RP Help & Discussion. This should (in theory) allow both sections to have ample time to vote in polls, giving me a wider voting bloc.

Will be looking into recruiting helpers soon™ for the purposes of stat tracking and possibly posting threads too. Will be looking for 1-2 helpers. If anyone reading this has interest, PM me, and I'll let you know when I'm recruiting helpers. You will get paid in my thanks, and in invisible cookies.

    -----Update 5-----

Updated poll statistics on Demographics 03. It accrued over 50 votes! Added Demo 03 to achievements tab. (It's still minimalist. Considering changing from targets (25, 50, 75, et cetera) to precise total counts on each, arranging them in a leaderboard of sorts. Started Demographics 04. Starting to get a consistent patterned formula to these demo threads, may consider saving formula in this thread later as an additional tab.

Added colours to the demographics threads. They may change over time, I'm just trying to pretty them up a bit. I am looking for input on the colours here, if anyone reading this has any suggestions or comments about them, let me know by responding in this thread. I'll be aiming to keep it minimalistic so it doesn't turn into an orgy of contrasting colours that hurts the eyes.

Added additional options to the community poll. It's now there to stay, permanent addition to the demographics threads. Hoorah. :ferret:

    -----Update 6-----

    Updated polls on Demographics threads 1, 2, 3, and 4. (01/05/2016.)

    -----Update 7-----

Major update, ho! Demo 05 started, four day posting schedule established (at least until 10 demo threads are up and running, then I'll likely start to scale back to a weekly affair.) Demo 01, 02, 03, and 04 poll stats updated. Achievements overhauled: It now ranks threads based on total number of votes as a leaderboard. Tab has been subsequently renamed. Now playing around with future organization of the threads, after 10+ is achieved. Thinking of a categories system controlled by tabs. Will play around with it and see later.

    -----Update 8-----

Changed the disclaimer at the top to reflect a myriad of changes and new information that was not present before.

    -----Update 9-----

Updated poll statistics on Demographics 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Started Demographics 06. There have been a total of 248 votes so far distributed across four demographics threads according to the leaderboard. Woo! Lots of numbers. Just need a couple more threads and I can start playing with drawing correlations and restructuring the hub to accommodate for "series" of polls, or polls with similar themes. :ferret:

    -----Update 10-----

GOLDEN GATSBY! This is a hell of an update! Demographics 05 moved to RP Help & Discussion, added to the Leaderboard of Votes. Demographics 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, and 06 updated. Demographics 07 released. New category added to all polls denoting whether they are single vote or multiple vote polls. Multiple vote poll option created, data will be tallied accordingly when pulling for comparisons. (It's easy to give false impressions with a multiple choice poll, ergo why I don't like using them personally, but they do have their uses.)

Total Number of cast Votes on the leaderboard (Demos 1-5) now exceeds 250. More than a quarter of the way to 1,000 votes!

Will try to think of a solution for how a multiple choice poll will fuck with the leaderboard later.

    -----Update 11: Introduction of Categories-----

Updated Demographics threads 1 through 7, devised a method for calculating vote totals from multiple vote polls. (Maths is love, maths is life.) Created rudimentary category system for organizing the demographics threads: Characters, Storytelling, & Mechanics. It may change further later as more threads go up and further organization is required to make it easier to find what types of questions people want to browse. It will also pave the way for cycling updates, so I don't have to dump update all threads simultaneously. Demographics thread 08 is up. Demographics thread 06 added to the leaderboard.

The poll threads appear to be suffering a slow but steady bleed-off of voters at present. Likely due to threads going up every four days instead of on a weekly basis. I may be stealing from myself, irony. :ferret:

    -----Update 12: Reduction of Categories-----

Updated Demographics threads 1 through 8, updated categories to a 1-10 system. Simple is always better. Added a section for an expansion to the demographics project that has yet to be revealed. Officially put out the signal for helper recruitment: Gondor calls for aid!

Leaderboard updated. There is now a total of 420 votes!

    -----Update 13: Helpers Appear!-----

Added @Red Willow & @Hana as helpers in a PM convo. (Which, if it hasn't gone live when this demo thread is updated, will go live soon.) Created Demographics 10 (WOO WE MADE IT TO DOUBLE DIGITS) and updated Demographics 09 vote totals. Added caveat to #9 that vote totals may not be entirely accurate due to trolling in the poll. Once some small things are taken care of, Hana & Red Willow will be officially credited as helpers somewhere here in the Demographics Statistics Hub.

-----Update 14: Ten thread target hit!-----

Created Demographics 11. Updated Demographics threads 01-10. Added a Demographics banner to voting threads from Demographics 11 onward thanks to @RedWillow 's contribution. Hit the ten thread target to start working on the FDR, which will be updated with a minor update instead of a major update to avoid bump spamming this thread.

Hit 522 total votes so far. It's a lovely day in the neighbourhood. It'd be amusing to make it to one thousand.

    -----Update 15: Been a Week-----

I fell behind on the hub here. Whoops, my bad. Created Demographics 13, updated Demographics 11 & 12 and added to the poll. Will be working with helpers later to redistribute this labour of love. :ferret:

    -----Update 16: Demographics on Hiatus?-----

Life got in the way of my ability to do most anything. Everything took a back seat to scrambling to getting some personal stuff out of my way. (This is why I'm eventually going to ease helpers into the process--in case my life blows up in my face again.) In the meantime, I'm going to tl;dr the changes.

Demographics 1 through to 13 updated.
    Demographics 14 released.
CCP system being overhauled. New version next week.
Leaderboard of votes is now gone.
DRT is the placeholder for reports tallies for those wondering.
Sundays are still the planned days to release future demographics threads.
Group & 1x1 directed questions culled. Additional questions should just be general topic expansion now, unless specified otherwise.

    @RedWillow @Hana expect a PM soon. :ferret:

    -----Update 17: Poll Thread!-----

I've made the first Demographics Poll thread here. We'll see how it works. I've updated Demographics 14, and released Demographics 15.

3/4 of the way to 20 Threads. Amusing I've gotten this far. Wasn't sure it would stick, but I guess it has. Who knows, might make it to 100 one day. :ferret:

    -----Update 18: IN A RUSH!-----

Demographics 16 is up. Will update poll statistics (at least for demo 15) later, family stuff to attend to, but figured I'd get this thread up ASAP. Will post a second update when stats are brought up to current date. :ferret:

:ferret:

Demographics will be updated tomorrow. I had to catch up on Roleplays first after my "getting super busy IRL" time. Just letting people know that I haven't forgotten about the Demo threads, I just needed a few days to deal with some IRL business. They'll get back on track soon. Until then, enjoy some intermission music.

Added @RedWillow & @Hana as helpers in a PM convo.

@RedWillow @Hana expect a PM soon. :ferret:

:ferret:
