Deadman Wonderland, Japan's first privately owned maximum security prison, was founded after the Great Tokyo Earthquake 10 years ago. Since then, Deadman Wonderland has become a tourist attraction, and stays open thanks to its public funding from events such as the Carnival Corpse, Dog Race, and other audience pleasing events. Deep inside, however, lies a darkness unseen to all, even the inmates of the prison itself.
Inmates are locked into collars that will kill them in 3 days time without a special antidote 'candy'. Inmates are also able to earn CP [Cast Points] in order to make their lives within the walls of Deadman Wonderland more leisurely, depending on how much CP they accumulate.
Deadman Wonderland caters to the public as something of an amusement park, with popular events such as the Dog Race, Carnival Corpse, and other such activities that keep audiences paying for admission, and thus, keeping Deadman Wonderland up and running. This is life, ladies and gentleman. You're all here for one reason or another, and it doesnt matter how innocent you think you are. You wont be leaving in anything but a body bag.
