What is everyone's thoughts on this underestimated, misunderstood franchise?

Personally I love it and it's pretty much my favorite fighting game franchise now. Too bad it doesn't get enough love these days because of people's stupid and unwarranted judgments :( I own Dead or Alive 5 Last Round on both PS3 and PS4 and play the game pretty frequently!

i remember the original installments did a lot with combo mechanics and combo interruptions

It's a decent series. A favorite character of mine is Ryu Hayabusa.
