It all started 32 years ago. Started when, from out of nowhere, they came into the public eye for the first time. When those first costume clad men and women, each with amazing skills and/or powers jumped out of the human imagination and into our cold, bleak reality, ready to help us take on the threats and problems that faced us at the time. When for 16 years and a little over, the Golden Age of the superheroes captured the hearts and minds of nearly every man, woman, teenager and child. Not just across the United States, but all over the damn world. Amazing powers, eye catching costumes, larger than life personas and names. Some could fly, some were acrobats, others could lift cars over their heads, run faster than sound, control the elements with their finger tips, or simply had the tech or fighting prowess to get by in the world of vigilantism. True, at first we didn't entirely trust them. Our men in blue didn't like how effective they were either. But in no time at all, we quickly saw them for what they were. Heroes. Saviours. Celebrities. Cash Cows.

Even with the Miller (and later Cooke) Administration(s) making things worse for some and better for others, even with wars and battles and violence raging across the planet, Even with crime, corruption and so forth across the nation, it was still a great time top be alive. Such were the days of the Justice Society, the Seven Soldiers, the Freedom Fighters and the All-Star Squadron, not to mention the solo heroes that only those who lived back then seem to remember. These costumed citizens who worked day and night for our protection, who brought down criminals both powered and un powered with seemingly little trouble, took down monsters and explored the most uncharted reaches of earth and space gave each and every last one of us hope for a better tomorrow.

No one is entirely sure why the majority of these remarkable Americans left us shortly after the 1993 election of Rob Liefeld. Perhaps they felt things were drying up (it didn't help that super powered crime had dropped to almost pre golden age levels by that point), or that the problems that had tasked themselves to face had sorta, kinda been fixed. Then again maybe it's because some of us, in our misguided sense of fear and insecurity, turned against our protectors and tossed them aside like childhood toys we no longer felt any connection to, that we simply wanted to sell or throw away.

But most of the time, those toys get put in the attic, just in case we change our minds. Not to mention that, where there is good, there is always evil. and in the early days of 2010, the cycle began again. Needless to say, we were glad to have our heroes back again and they in turn, were happy to be back and doing what they did best.

This however, is not the world you think it is.

Oh, the codenames are the same of course, but the powers, costumes, skills, secret identities, personalities, locations, faces and in some cases genders attached to them are more different than you could ever imagine. Such is the case for the 53rd Earth in the ever growing multiverse. In a few cases, this version of earth takes it's cues from Earths Six and Nine in terms of the vastly different nature of it's heroes in comparison to Earth Prime. The names of Superman and Green Lantern, Lex Luthor and Condiment King, don't mean what they do on the Earth we're used to observing Even seemingly familiar cities and locations might be a complete change from the norm. And so it goes on.

But like I said before, where there is super good, there will always inevitably be super evil. The villains are back in force. They're bigger and badder than ever and BOY are they pissed! As if this wasn't bad enough, There are the god level threats to contend with too. For instance, recently a slowly increasing number of net users have fallen victim to a new, unusual virus called the Mxyzptlk Cloner. And by unusual we mean that those whose devices get infected are usually found dead at their homes or other locations with said places nearly emptied of electronic equipment, all save for the device that was originally infected, which often shows a bright Orange screen. Where the equipment goes and what kills the users has however, yet to be determined by the world at large. And it's only a matter of time before our heroes get dragged into this as the virus continues to spread. What does it want? Where did it come from? And how many will it take to get rid of the damn thing? For all we know, it could take an entire League.

Welcome to DC: A Whole New World. An entirely AU DCU roleplay, inspired, but not based on, the tangent line from the 90s. Here, civilians, neutrals, heroes and villains alike are completely or almost completely re imagined. Everything from powers to origins to looks to locations to status is yours to decide. This is you're chance to make your own version of Flash, Aquaman, Green Arrow and even Hawkman. The general rules of Iwakuro apply to this game of course, but there are a few I'd like to add to this game specifically.

Rules
1:No overpowered or god level characters.
2:No killing another person's character.
3:Please try to make your IC posts as detailed as you can, say about 3 to 4 paragraphs per post. They don't have to be long ones if you don't feel up to it though. Character dialogue is also encouraged though not a necessity for every post.
4:Please be patient of others when waiting for replies. Some players might take a while to reply to IC posts due to personal reasons or creative ones.
5:Everyone from the Trinity and the Legion of Doom to B'wana Beast and the Brotherhood of Evil is yours to reshape like clay into whatever you want, provided it isn't exactly like the original character you're basing yours off of, as creative ideas are encouraged and desired in this game.
6:No double posting if it can be avoided.
7:Be respectful of others and their decisions in the game.
8:Everyone is allowed a total of 2 heroes and two villains each.
9:No original Codenames. All codenames must come from a character in the dcu.
9: the most important rule in any roleplay. Have as much fun as you can. ;)

If you have any further questions regarding this game, feel free to post them here and I'll try to answer them as soon as I can. Thank you for reading. :)

Name:
Layne Evermore.

Codename/Nicknames:
Raven - Superhero Name.
Scrawny - Called by Midnight.

Age:
Eighteen.

Gender:
Male.

Ethnicity:
Caucasian.

Nationality:
English/French.

Skills:
Master:
Martial Arts
- A Reaper does not always resort to using their Death Blade, especially not in situations that do not require it. Every Reaper retains all the combat knowledge of their predecessor, drawing Raven a very formidable fighter due to the countless Reapers Midnight has tutored before him. Rather than brute force, Raven focuses on finesse and grace.

Blade Mastery
- As would be expected of a Reaper, Raven swings and twirls his blade as if an extension of his body. Each movement is fluid and flows into the next, creating a vortex of graceful and enchanting displays. As if a dance, Raven wrings unparalleled finesse with his weapon, yet again retained from his predecessors.

Acrobatics
- Focusing on agile and fluid movements, Raven relies heavily on his high level of athleticism. Combining his graceful and dexterous arts with the deadly edge of his blade, Raven dodges and weaves between attacks while entwining his own into the fluid motions.

Intermediate:
Teamwork
- Raven is not used to working in teams, other than with Midnight. His ability to follow instructions and follow others is somewhat lacking.

Tactics
- The boy knows not to jump headfirst into a room full of pistol armed thugs, but when it comes to outsmarting a team of villains to come out on top, the Reaper is lacking.

Poor:
Social Skills
- Talking and getting on the good side of others is a skill Raven sorely lacks. He would be quicker to acquire distaste than favorable reactions and leaves the more social aspects to others.

Medical Skills
- If an ally gets hurt and happens to be teamed up with Raven, they're out of luck. When it comes to first aid and other medical interventions, Raven is entirely lost and clueless.

Leadership Skills
- Putting Raven in the position of commander is a critical error. He can't lead a team to save his life and already has enough issues working together with others as it is.

Flexibility
- Raven can use his blade, and his martial arts. That's it. When going up against highly powerful threats that are a commodity within villainous circles, being able to shift between more options during battle is sometimes a tactical necessity.

(Active Powers)
Raven is a Reaper, a ghastly creature roaming the fabrics between life and death. Residing within Limbo, Raven interacts with the physical plane on a constant basis, shepherding souls to the other sides and hunting down evil phantasms who would seek to harm the innocent. A creature of darkness himself, Raven is not an individual whom others look to as a divine beacon, but rather an actor who moves through the shadows of death, exacting the will of compassion.

Death’s Grip
- Raven possesses a supernatural level of physical prowess as he is imbued by Death’s physical aspect of punishment. His strength does not reach the level of lifting busses, or being able to manage several tons worth of weight. Rather, Raven’s physical strength can be compared to a level just above peak human strength which only dips into a more supernatural aspect.

Death Blade
- Raven’s trusted companion Midnight can, when Raven so wills it, transform into his Death Blade. This weapon is a traditional tool used by Reapers to reap the souls of phantasms. The weapon can carve through most man-made materials, and can damage both physical and incorporeal beings, as well as supernaturally armored opponents. It’s a weapon made by Death, and as such, can damage and kill anything as if they lacked the immortality otherwise granted to them.

Each of Death's ravens transform into a unique weapon. Midnight transforms into a sword.

Astral Travel
- Raven’s final active ability. This power allows for the Reaper to teleport to and from the afterlife. Whichever planet the Reaper finds himself on, he has access to that planet’s version of an afterlife.
Clark-15765-5.gif

(Passive Powers)
Raven is no longer of this world and his powers reflect that quite clearly. Ever since Death bestowed upon him a new existence, Raven has acquired abilities he has no control over, passive feats which comprises his frame.

Grim Resilience
- The Reaper possesses the ability to regenerate at a highly rapid pace. Wounds close, lost limbs regrow and illnesses cannot remain within his frame. Raven’s power is completely automatic and he has no control over its usage.

While he can regrow lost limbs, and heal from wounds, severing Raven’s head will lead to an inevitable death. Another thing to note is that the more Raven heals, the more tired he gets. Too much usage of this power would lead to fainting which leaves him completely defenseless.

Any severed limbs turn to dust as soon as they leave his body.

Eternal Servitude
- If Raven ever meets his end, Death will not be his release. Standing between the living and the dead, Raven cannot permanently die. Upon losing his life, Raven will re-materialize at the exact hour of midnight in the graveyard closest to him. The time is based on the location where Raven first became a Reaper.

This ability is not without its flaws, however. On the contrary, Raven remembers who and what he is. He remembers that he was in fact killed and has returned. That is the extent of what remains. Raven will never be able to retain the memories of his previous life. Friends, enemies, promises, goals, allegiances, nothing remains. Everything and everyone Raven comes in contact with after returning to life will be a first time experience for him.

The one saving grace is that he knows this, drawing him somewhat less hopelessly lost.

Eternal Presence
- Standing between life and death, Raven cannot age. Neither can his body change. He is completely frozen in time which means that he cannot physically alter his body in means of mass or weight.

Limbo
- Raven can see, communicate and physically interact with the beyond. This includes incorporeal beings such as ghosts and spirits.

Reaper
- Part of his job, and something Midnight makes sure he remembers, is to shepherd lost souls to the afterlife. Raven does not need to physically walk them to the pearly gates, so to speak. He merely needs to touch a lost soul to relinquish it from its earthly shackles. Raven can also ease the suffering of the dying by painlessly allowing them passage into the afterlife, effectively ending a dying person's life with compassionate warmth.

Midnight
- Raven's most trusted friend, adviser and ally. Midnight is, as could perhaps be expected, a raven. He is constantly with Raven and acts as his guide through life. Midnight is one of Death's very own and was tasked to look after Raven, as the newly made Reaper's right hand. Raven and Midnight are linked together, and Midnight can choose to vanish from sight at will. If it happens that he gets separated from Raven, Midnight can teleport back to him, no matter the distance between them.

Midnight’s most spectacular ability however, is to transform into Raven’s Death Blade.

Prowess from the Beyond
- Raven possesses the martial prowess of all the Reapers before him which Midnight has tutored, granting him a high level of martial skills and combat prowess. This includes martial arts, and swordsmanship.

Magical Relics
- Since Raven constantly resides on a plane between life and death, Raven cannot command magical energies based in the physical world. He cannot use spell books or grimoires, nor can he use supernaturally charged items. Though Raven constantly interacts with the physical plane, and is seen by his surrounding as if any other person, he is still very much between planes.

Mortal Coil
- Though Raven cannot permanently die, he can still suffer. Raven feels hunger, cold and warmth like anyone else. He needs to maintain his body just like any mortal.

Reaper’s Shackles
- Raven cannot use any other weapon than Midnight. If he comes into the possession of another weapon which he would try to use, the weapon would wither in his hands until nothing remained but dust. This leaves Raven with the ability to only use his Death Blade.

Frame of Innocence
- Though Raven possesses supernatural strength, speed and reflexes, he still has the body of a scrawny and slight eighteen-year-old boy. This leaves him with a very low weight and makes his susceptible to shockwave based attacks which would knock him off his feet. Neither can Raven block attacks from hulking opponents, as the sheer weight of their blows would send him flying. Due to this, Raven prefers an agile fighting style.

Flesh and Blood
- Indeed, Raven can regenerate. However, his body is just as susceptible to damage of any kind (excluding poison) as any normal human being. While he can heal at a rapid pace, the healing drains his energy and he has no level of natural armor.

Ranged Restriction
- As has been stated, Raven cannot use any other weapon than his Death Blade. This also means that Raven is entirely limited to melee combat, and cannot under any circumstances (other than throwing his blade) initiate in ranged battles.

Equipment:
Raven does not carry any equipment of note. However, he does like drawing. He carries with him a shoulder bag containing two notebooks, and a case of pens.

His raven, Midnight, transforms into a Death Blade which he otherwise does not carry around.

Appearance - Summary:
Scrawny, small, short, frail and fragile.

Appearance - Detailed:
Raven's a short and visibly weak boy who wouldn’t pose much of a threat, was he not a Reaper. He seems to be on constant guard, his large black eyes ever vigilant for an impending ambush and he often keeps something in his hands. A book pressed against his chest, his fingers wrapped around the strap of his shoulder bag or fiddling with his hands are common sights.

His hair would be considered rather long and thick, bangs falling over his forehead and covers his eyes unless kept out of the way. He possess quite a few scars from a life of abuse, but no other additions to his body in the form of accessories or tattoos.

His ribs are visible and ‘you need to eat more’ is a common phrase he comes across. Despite an otherwise reserved demeanor, he doesn’t seem to have much of a problem with his body. It’s not much to look at, and the scrawny nature is certainly nothing held high by media or society, but he hasn’t displayed much reluctance in removing his shirt at the pool, so to speak. It could be assumed that there are little to no visible muscles stretching out across his frame.

Fitting his frame, Raven possesses a quiet but light voice. As he speaks in somewhat silence, it can be hard to hear his words and he doesn't like repeating himself too often. He has however learned that it's often necessary.

With light footsteps, it can sometimes be hard to hear him due to his size, five and a half feet, and weight, seventy pounds. Others often call him 'emo' and compared to the other boys he has always been somewhat of an outsider. One shouldn't be fooled, though. Raven is comfortable in his body and has never really dreamt of looking any different. He's small, he's slight and he's everything the typical male shouldn't be, but he feels it a waste of time to wish another body upon himself. He knows his limitations but has quite a fiery side to him towards those who overstep. It is worthy of note that Raven's physical limitations are no longer present however, due to recent changes.

Personality - Summary:
Quiet, reserved, reclusive and stubborn.

Personality - Detailed:
Raven is a reserved, quiet and cold young man. He usually sticks to himself but has a bad habit of getting into bad situations with those much bigger than him. He doesn’t talk much and expresses a cold demeanor, lacking social competence of any notable level. He prefers conflict to apologizing for something he is convinced isn’t his fault, and often takes the hard way out because of it. While he lacks what would be considered sense, Raven's silence can at times be considered rude for good reason. He can often ignore others and gives them the cold shoulder, especially if they’ve rubbed him the wrong way and has been noted to sometimes let a frown do all the talking for him. Of course, this shouldn’t fool anyone into thinking that he is a jerk as he can indeed be considered a kindhearted and sweet individual if approached correctly, though his cold personality will persist for quite a while as it is simply part of who he is.

One could argue that it’s because he has been bullied or pushed around for most of his life and while that might be true on some level, Raven simply doesn’t trust people. He’s not the kind of person who acts cold and when he warms up to you, you’re his friend for life. Raven is simply a distant person. True, he wishes he could be closer to people sometimes but his distrust towards others is a barrier he prefers would remain in fear of the consequences otherwise following.

Raven doesn’t bother hiding his sexuality which of course brings more punishment to an already rather bothersome situation. He is homosexual, and while he doesn’t wave it around, he doesn’t pretend to be straight either. If asked, he will tell the truth but otherwise he doesn’t bring it up.

Location:
America, Sun City.

Secret Origin:
"Wh-who are you..?" A weak, silent voice echoed through the darkness. The cold chill of death's ever present embrace was hard to dismiss, the only company Layne would come to know within the abyss he now knew was waiting. A moment would proceed to pass before a voice returned in response, the sound a caressing and soothing touch as if from a loving mother's lips.

"The End." The voice began, her alarmingly blunt statement sending another chill down Layne's spine. It was only after a pair of skeletal arms halted his decent into never ending darkness that those large black eyes met a pair of empty pits staring back at him. "Layne." Her voice continued, a skeletal finger tracing its way down the side of his face. "The choice was yours. It was always yours. Is this truly your decision?"

"What else is there?" A trembling boy returned, his still beating heart pushing against his ribs like a jackhammer. Layne's past is nothing one would be jealous of. Economically unstable, and disastrous. Lovingly vacant, and physically painful. The boy had grown to call misery home far too often, and despite a stubborn mind, he was finally broken down and shackled to hell's temptation. The blade was a tempting tool, a way out, an opened door. With hesitation in abundance, that door was eventually opened but before the release of death came to greet him, Layne would come to know Limbo, a presence between life and death.

Abuse was a commodity during Layne's childhood, given his father's endless habits. Death grants life, as they say, and that is how Layne's existence came to be. It was a sad report to file that day when Layne's mother passed during childbirth. Always a risky procedure, modern day society know it as a wonderful event, and for good reason. But granting life is not always the soothing warmth one would come to know.

Blamed for his mother's death, Layne grew through life with a father slowly degenerating into an aggressively abusive drunk. An otherwise stable job shattered, leaving the two economically reliant on welfare, and an unstable situation at home was nothing to gawk over. Layne had grown accustomed to his father's fist and on worse days, his creative solutions. Scars from both bladed and blunt trauma are easily visible across Layne's frame and this was all but hidden from society's prying eyes.

Though the boy was known as a loner and socially awkward, he was never one to back down. He was never one to give up, but everyone has their limit. Everyone can only take so much. It was at his eighteenth birthday that Layne opened that final door, revealing the path he would proceed to take with shaking legs. The abyss waited for his presence, a risk Layne was willing to take as he slit his wrists in his bedroom.

"An offer." Death's voice reached his ears once more before she lowered him to the darkness he could now stand upon.

"Why me?" Layne returned, looking down at the wounds stretching across his wrists.

"My scouts do not lie. They stalk those treading closely to demise." Death continued before a raven landed upon Layne's shoulder, causing the poor boy to flinch with a startled reaction. "Midnight speaks well of you." A small smirk could be seen within the darkness of her hood, flawless lips meeting Layne's eyes in an otherwise empty blackness. "Whether Abaddon or Heaven's embrace await, there is a third path I can offer you."

Layne would be lying if he claimed that the vast unknown didn't scare him. He was never a religious person, and Death was not making it clear whether he would find himself in a place of torture or one of joy, but this meeting would prove one thing above the rest. Layne had wished things were different, and now they could be. It was a thin thread he was dancing on, and he opened that final door in hopes of freedom. What laid beyond was unsure, whether it was a place of light or one of darkness. All he wanted was to be free.

"A curse, or a blessing." Death spoke. "Become my Reaper, shepherd the lost."

"A Reaper...?" The term was nothing Layne had come to relate to himself, or ever thought he would.

"The raven will show you the way." Before Layne could articulate, his heart's true desire, be it out of curiosity, fear or determination had spoken loudly and with the next beat he found himself in his bedroom with a raven upon his shoulder. Two faint scars were clearly visible upon his forearms.

Extra
Raven often wears bracelets or other accessories to cover the scars across his wrists. Most of the time, he wears broad leather bracelets.

Words cannot describe the absolutely beautiful thing that I have just had the privilege to read. Everything from the graphics to the writing itself was, in ever sense of the word, a masterpiece. Layne is a great and relatable character and deep down sounds like an absolute cutie pie in my honest opinion. It will be a pleasure to have such a character in this game. Consider him approved. :)

@Shayla

Sorry for the late responce. I'm happy to have you join us and can't wait to see what you bring to the table. ^^

  1. Alexandra Kalomoira

    The Huntress

    Age 26

    Powers

Alexandra is the daughter of the Greek Deity Hades and as such is gifted with extraordinary superhuman strength. She has an Olympian durability & constitution. She could probably go full strength and speed for a couple of days before getting tired. She has never been sick a day in her life. It is unlikely that normal toxins and virus/bacteria would affect her. She isn't particularly bullet proof but regenerates very quickly. She could regenerate a lost limb in a couple of days. Her reflexes and hand eye coordination are higher than the best olympic atheletes. She can probably manage 40-45 miles per hour running.. Alexandra as a daughter of Hades can see the spirits of the dead, talk with them and can generally expect some level of respect. Her eyesight works well in near darkness. In extreme need she could call on her father for armies of the dead, but this would come at a cost.It is whispered, that she cannot die like normal folk.

    Skills

Alexandra has trained since grade school in fencing, gymnastics, climbing, martial arts, tactics and all of the normal school studies by both living and deceased mentors. She speaks several languages and has a doctorate in Computer programming with a secondary degree in business. She has become streetwise as she started using the Huntress Persona as she is very bright and charismatic. She has excellent skills with money management & investments.

    Equipment

From her father she has a sword, a blade of Enchanted Stygian Iron, forged by her uncle Hephaestus. The sword is extremely deadly, the intent of her having it is to fight supernatural creatures. She has a black leather scabbard that makes both itself and the sword invisible when not in use.
There is a broach with the symbol of her father, the two pronged spear that gives her protections for her mind and soul.

On the technological side She has had an armored costume made in black and purple. It is close to being completely bullet proof and has mesh to protect from Tasers & other electrical attacks. It is fire & acid resistant. She has climbing gear and an expensive state of the art four wheel motorcycle with a big engine. At her New York brownstone, she has a large state of the art Supercomputer of her own design. She has homes in New York, Los Angeles & New Orleans.

Alexandra's father is a god of wealth, subsequently Alexandra has money. She isn't Wayne or Luthor rich, but she is very wealthy.

Weakness: She tough when it comes to taking blows, but her body is neither blade or bullet proof.

Personality: Alexandra seems to be a well rounded person. She has a strong sense of protectiveness and could be quite vengeful if wronged. She has a sense of duty to her world, her town and the people in it.

Location, as yet determined. Los Angeles.

The limit to how much matter she is able to control is vast, though it ranges well into hundreds of tons, allowing her to hurl city buses, mounds of rubble or even uprooting whole slabs of pavement. Whenever she takes control of something, it is covered in the same purple energy

She has access to a vast library of tomes, spellbooks, and ancient scrolls. She can mix the most complicated potions and used objects like charms and talisman efficiently.

She had heard of another Azarathian who had lived on the planet and this inspired her to be the best she could. However, it was after her trip to the human world that she realized that her powers created a sort of short circuit and she was stuck on Earth and thus began her journey to better herself and the planet she now calls home.

NAME
Gal Gardner

CODENAME
Green Lantern

AGE
Twenty-Eight

POWERS/SKILLS
Green Power "Ring": In all the redacted files in the "Lantern Project" the Ion symbiote is referred to being a ring. What it really is, is a culture of alien cells, mixed with compatible human tissue and injected into the host body. It grants them extraordinary powers and speaks to them, illuminating the universe beyond Earth.
  • Green Energy Constructs: This power is different for every Lantern. In the case of Gal, she uses it to form martial weapons and large, cumbersome guns to help her fight. Creating a giant, shoulder mounted laser cannon is the only way she can purely manifest her energy.
  • Symbiote Armor: An energy based armor that the Lanterns produce through their pores. It is different for every Lantern. Gal's is thick and heavy, allowing her dish out and take hits.
  • Force Field: Gal can produce a powerful forcefield capable of withstanding immense pressure. Yet, it does deteriorate over time and continued abuse.
  • Increased Strength: Unique to Gal, her symbiote has granted her a burst in strength, letting her take on tougher opponents.
  • Flight: As it says, bitch can fly.
  • Immunity to Space: Someone can fling Gal into space, and she's perfectly fine. She also forms a small bubble around herself to protect those that might travel with her.
  • Enhanced Healing: The symbiote allows for her to heal quicker than normal. While she can't overcome fatal wounds, she can get back on her feet quicker than most.

Ion: An ages old alien being that was said to be around at the beginning of the cosmos. Well, it says that anyone. Thing could be lying. Anyway, Gal is networked into it via the symbiote. It spouts useful information, possible tactics against a veritable array of opponents, and chides Gal on being a bit too quick to anger.

Brawler: The entire reason she got into this mess was due to her fighting skills. Gal's hand to hand may not be expert or masterful, but it gets the job done with as much force as possible.

WEAKNESSES
"Battery" Power: The symbiote loses its ability if it's not regularly within a close radius of Ion. So, Gal loses her abilities, and worse off she starts to get flu-like symptoms. The time between symbiote-parent connection varies on how much power is used. A burst of power can be acquired by taking it from other living things, but the connection to Ion would still fade.

Lack of Creativity: Gal could probably do a lot more with her ring, but she pretty much uses it for head to head assault. She is good at that, but she can be out thought and maneuvered by those that know how manipulate their abilities with a lot more finesse.

Gal's Temper: It's bad, and it can lead her to do stupid shit most of the time.

ETHNICITY

PERSONALITY
Gal is rude, lewd, and very into saying whatever crosses her mind, whenever it crosses her mind. She hasn't made a lot of friends this way, and for the most part, she's only made enemies. She's the first in a fight, and the last to leave it. She is painfully loyal to those that decide to befriend her. But that may not be the best choice. Honestly, it's on them. She's always angry about something, and it's hard to tell if it's personal or not. Yet, her honesty in situations can be invaluable. If it doesn't piss you off something awful.

LOCATION
Baltimore, Maryland

SECRET ORIGIN
Despite popular belief, Gal did not grow up in a broken, terrible home. She grew up without a father, fair enough, but that never seemed to caused any tension in the house. Her mother was quite happy that it was the two of them. As she grew older, she never overachieved or underachieved. Gal was glad coasting in the middle. That being said, no one would have thought anything about her did she not grow up with a mouth on her. She was bullied quite a bit in her younger years until she became the bully. This only intensified when she joined her school's female wrestling team and became nigh impossible to work with. Yet, she prided herself on her ability. Always being snubbed in academia forced her to latch on to the cruder things that she was good at.

Gal tried to get into Police Academy but flunked out. This was, again, due to her temper. So, she got a job at a bar as one-part bartender and one-part bouncer. On the weekend, for a little extra cash, she'd fight in illegal cage matches. This is where Gal's story really starts.

She knew something was wrong with her opponent. For one, eight-foot behemoths really didn't exist outside of fiction. For another, she was a hundred percent sure half-way through the fight his face was peeling off. He laughed at her attempts to take him down, but she moved quicker than him and was able to avoid most of his harder blows. Gal was not set to win this match by the odds. Yet, in a moment of brilliance, she thought back to the most wise of martial artists, Johnny Cage, slid into the splits and punched the sucker so hard in the balls, he crumpled. She then followed that up with a few punches to his face, and then running and forcing him into an armbar and inevitably a choke hold.

Having won quite a small fortune, Gal was content to blow some of it on drinks. It was no surprise that she woke up in a strange place afterward. Yet, unlike it being some stranger's apartment it was a government facility called O.A. (Organization for Aliens). She was approached by a group of stodgy old men G-Men Types called the "Guardians." They informed her that she'd managed to take down an alien species that no human had ever been able to defeat without the aid of powers. So, she'd been chosen to join the "Lantern Corps" a group of alien hunters that "shine a light" on extraterrestrial threats.

Gal was never one to turn down something new and exciting, especially if it came with powers. She was initiated into the pseudo-government organization called the "Green Lanterns" and was bonded with the ancient alien entity called Ion. While the agency doesn't view itself much as a group of "superheroes," it does get its fair share of publicity.

Brief History on this Iteration of the Green Lanterns:
  • The program started in WWII, after learning that alien infiltration had allowed for the Axis to gain tactical supremacy.
  • An ancient alien entity was discovered sometime after that. It seemed diametrically opposed to the Axis Forces.
  • The scientists were able to cultivate tissue from this entity, called Ion, match it with human DNA and inject it into willing hosts.
  • It was discovered that only the physically and/or mentally strong were capable of hosting it.
  • It started the "Green Lantern" Program, set in a government facility called the O.A. and run by the Guardians, a group of specifically appointed government agents.
  • After helping neutralize the thread in WWII they went on to become a policing force, helping protect humans against the ever growing alien threat.
