Carl Savette

Cerena's knock came at the exact same time Carl's alarm went off. Getting up early was already part of his everyday routine long before he came on the show; there was plenty to do and this was the only way he could get all of it done in time. First was carefully unwrapping the silk head scarf that kept all the essential oils in his hair overnight. Next was a twenty minute shower mostly spent brushing and moisturizing it. He picked out a nice cologne, nothing too offensive, brushed his teeth, all that good stuff. And finally, with a comb still stuck in his freshly blow-dried afro, Carl got dressed, sat down, and started on a condensed version of his usual workout routine. He preferred to visit the gym every morning, but there just wasn't enough time today. A few reps with his travel-size weights would have to do.

By the time he was done, Carl had just barely made it within the time limit Cerena set. He raced to the living room, wearing one of his favorite suits, tailored for his large build -- Cerena had told the contestants to make themselves nice, after all. Milk and bread for breakfast was less than he was expecting on a show like this, but maybe the meals would improve if he performed well? It was enough, at any rate, and he ate all of his share. Under his glass was a small card that would reveal his daily task, presumably for the rest of the show. What could it be? Something difficult? Humiliating? Carl was prepared for the worst as he opened the card...

Make something tasty (either food or drink) and give it to another candidate, report it to Cerena

Cooking? He had to cook? Well. That certainly wasn't what he was expecting. Easy as pie! Well, not pie. Baking wasn't his thing. But cooking, now that he could do. He was excited about the team game, too, thanks to his confidence in his leadership skills. He noted that he didn't know most of the names in his group, though he recognized the young man who perked up at the name "Justin." Not particularly social, that one. Carl hoped he could help him break out of his shell. And as luck would have it, the game was cooking too! This would be an easy day for sure. Avianna was already rallying up her team, so Carl went to join his.

"Don't apologize," he said to Siegfried, waving his hand. "Everyone can cook with a little direction. We can prepare something simple, like sandwiches, and still make it delicious." He gave everyone a smile, finally feeling in his element. The key to leading a team, especially a group of people without much confidence in the task at hand, was to help everyone feel useful, regardless of their expertise. Not everyone was clueless, though -- Mei seemed very confident in her cooking skills. Carl couldn't help but laugh along with her enthusiasm. "Yes, I have to say my favorite part of cooking is serving it to others."

Mei went on to explain what a traditional lunch was like in her household; judging by her attire Carl assumed she was Chinese. "I like the sound of a family platter," he said. "Noodles are quick to prepare...Maybe we could make some sort of creamy stew over egg noodles?" Soups and stews were his specialty, and often his default when cooking for a large group. "What do you all think?" he said, turning to the other members of the group. "We should make something that everybody enjoys."

The question of his age caught Carl off-guard, making his smile wane slightly. "Oh...well, it won't be me. I'm 35."

Siegfried thought a minute about what he could do. He could try and whip up something for desert, sure, but would that be enough to put his team on top? He could try to rig it in their favor with something from his medicine stores, but if he tried sabotaging the other team that way, Cerena might eliminate him....coming back to attention, he heard Carl talking to him. "I appreciate the sentiment, my good man. I may not be much good in the kitchen, but there's one thing I'm great at; I can make a hell of a cake." It's true, the one thing that he was really good at in the kitchen was baking, maybe because it felt close to working in his lab. "From the sounds of it, we'll be making something thick, savory, and rich. I think something bittersweet like my mocha espresso cake would cleanse the palate after something like stew. Since we'll be doing a family platter, how about we make a nice pot of long jing tea to go with it?" With Carl and Mei working on the main dish, Kyoko could focus on the tea, and he'd work with the desert. That just left Justin to decide what he would do.

As an afterthought, he turned to Mei Ling. "I don't think it's me, I'm 26. Not the oldest here by a long shot, but certainly not the youngest either."

Avianna listened to her annoying team speak about different things that they knew about food and what not. Hana has a cafe... which meant she could be a good cook, so that was a plus. Ren, well he would just go with whatever anyone else said... loser. Then Edra made a remark about her name. "So funny, Ethan. It's Avianna, you'll remember it soon enough." Sure Edra was cute, but not even he would get away with disrespecting her. "Now, Ethan... steak is a no. We don't have time to make enough steak for each person... and steak is gross anyway. How about we make a five course meal for the full crew? A appetizer, a drink, the main course, dessert... and something else." Avianna took out her phone, looking up her memo app. "So, I can do the main course. Which I think will be... Chicken Parmesan, perfect!" She grinned, it was easy, simple and tasty.

"Okay, I have the main course down... if anyone wants to help with that." She could care less if anyone did want to help, they would be more like her assisstant than anything. "Now, who wants to do the appetizer, the drink, the dessert and the special treat?" She waited for people to decide on what they wanted to cook. She tapped her foot on the wooden floor, she wondered when they would be able to start cooking. Avianna knew that her Chicken Parm would knock the socks off of these people, all her friends loved her Italian Dishes... since she was the best at cooking.

As she waited for the others in her team to decide, she went onto her social media page. They were talking about her finding love. She was all over the blogs. -HIgh Fashion Model, Avianna Bellerose Is Looking For Love! Who Can Handle This Goddess?- She smirked, scrolling through the website. Deep down inside, Avianna hopes that she will find a guy that can handle her. She may be a big work in progress, but once you get through that... the work will be worth it. She looked back up at the group. "So... did you all pick yet?" Rolling her eyes, she stood up... ready to start cooking.

The half Brit listened as each of his group mates. The blonde girl ,who wasn't Avianna, had inquired them as to who had in their group had experience in cooking. It wasn't until she introduced herself, did Ren remember that he, yet again, forgot to introduce himself first. Wishing to right his little mistake, the Brit was about to introduce himself as reveal his little cooking talent as well when the other male in the group spoke up. Steak? For lunch? Ren was appalled at the idea. Sure he could cook steak, but he felt that it was too much for lunch. And then it was back to Avianna who started bossing them around. It annoyed Ren and judging from how his teammates reacted at what Avianna had called their team earlier, he could already tell they were not pleased with this as well.

Taking a deep breath he looked at the bossy blonde. While he thought chicken parmesan to be an okay dish to prepare and serve, he didn't like how the blonde had decided on it without consulting the team. "Don't decide things on your own." He then faced the rest of his teammates. "First off, I think we should find out if anyone is allergic to anything. We wouldn't want to accidentally kill someone with our food--and no, I am not exaggerating, it is entirely possible to do so. Second, we also have to consider people's appetites. We want to serve people a meal that's not just delicious, but also could fill their stomachs. And lastly, I think either Hana or I should work on the main dish. Hana because she owns a cafe and is therefore experienced at cooking; me because cooking just so happens to be one of my talents." Not once did his voice falter. Each word was firm and said with confidence.

"I think we should first split into two groups. Two people could check out what's actually available in the market, the rest could gather information. What do people like, how much do they normally eat, and allergies if there are any. Then we group back together let's say about, 15 minutes later, to plan what it is exactly what we're going to be doing." His eyes moved from teammate to teammate trying to gauge their reactions. When his gaze landed on Hana, he remembered that he'd forgotten to introduce himself yet again. "Oh. and, I'm Ren by the way." he said with a smile that seemed out of place with given the tone he used prior to his introduction.

"Excellent idea," Carl said to Siegfried. He seemed quite knowledgeable about cooking; Carl made a mental note that he might be a useful source of inspiration down the road. Carl didn't know much about baking or all the varieties of tea, but he knew they went well with the dish he was considering. This way everyone could contribute. It seemed he and Mei would be working on the main dish, Siegfried on the dessert, and...Kyoko and Justin on the tea? Carl hoped they would find a task -- they only had so much time to plan -- but he would be happy to nudge them in the right direction if necessary.

"Mei, would you care to join me?" He gestured towards the mini market the crew had prepared. "We should begin choosing ingredients."

Edra snorted when Avianna said his name 'Ethan', he knew perfectly that she remembered his name, she was just too proud to admit it because he spelled her name wrong. He smirked, "I will remember it, Avina," Edra just loved teasing this kind of girl. She might be scary, but it's funny to watch how she acted. The more she pissed off, the more Edra would feel happy.

Avianna then started to order people this and that. She really all over the place. His dream about eating steak was gone because no one seemed to agree with his idea, but he couldn't care less. Edra wasn't really care actually about the points, he just wanted to get through this show alive. So, when another male spoke up to fight against Avianna, Edra just smiled and of course backed him up, "Yes! Whatever you say, I will just say yes... Ren! I'm Edra," Edra then turned his head and threw a winning smile to Avianna, "Sorry princess."

Edra stretched his body and put his arms behind his head, "I'll check the ingredients then, I can't cook so yeah, I'll leave it to you. I eat a lot, this stomach needs to be feed and I think I don't have any allergies," he tapped Ren's back before he went outside the dormitory to check the market. He wondered how would it be, making a market in one night was not easy.

Early Morning

[Spacer]When Jamie rose from her slumber, most of the other girls had already gotten up and started getting ready for the day. They moved about a bit like bees, all in a hurry with some unknown but predetermined plan in mind. It brought back memories of early spring back home, when she was much littler. The bees would be out and about moving from flower to flower in the small flower garden her mother tended to just out front of the family home. Well....used to tend too. Her mother had eventually let it wither and die, like everything else, when her spirt was crushed.

[Spacer]Rolling over to face the wall, Jamie groaned softly. She didn't want to thing of such depressing things on a day when she had woken up late, so she brought a pillow over her head as if to block everything out. Jamie, you see, was usually an earlier riser. But on days like this, when she had trouble sleeping the night before and had issues rising come the morning, she knew she was going to have a bad day. There was something about a slip up in her morning routine that was just the perfect tip off.

[Spacer]She waited there for several moment before a sigh left her and she sat up to take note of the other girls. The bunk below her had held a rather gorgeous blue eye'd blonde girl. She hadn't gotten a chance to know her yet, but she was pretty sure her name was Hana. Judging on how the girl carried herself, Jamie would have to see about befriending her. She seemed nice enough, judging on her response to being hit the day before, she certainly had a sense of style and didn't give off the bitchy vibe that the other blonde did. ...What was her name again? Avianna? Yeah, Avianna. She had ended up in the bunk diagonal from hers, and the only other girl to chose a top bunk. The girl who had decide psychical violence was the way to go....how....boarish. The girl would regret it later, really. She'd let it go for now, but if she decided to come to blows again. Well, Let's just say dealing with violence is an occupational hazard for her. And she's more the prepared to take down men four times her size.

A shame really. Girls with dispositions like Avianna's were really ugly.

[Spacer]Below Avianna was a almost....regal looking female. She had yet to catch her name, to be complete honest. All she knew of her was she gave off an almost queenly aura, and with some observation, that she was left handed. She'd have to ask her name some time during the day, might as well know the names of everyone she was going to be rooming with. Across from the regal woman, was the last girl. She had ended up on the bottom of a bunk bed with no one on top, which, admit able, might have been smart on her part. (She'd have to remember to apologize to Hana for her tossing and turning the night before.) She went over conversation's in her head, and was bummed out to find she didn't know this girls name either. Yet another failing on her part. Judging by the look of her, however, she seemed to not be a morning person. She was, however, adorable none the less. She reminded her, quite frankly,of a little doll. Her face was round and her eyes were huge and bright. ....In fact, Jamie remembered seeing a doll that looked quite a lot like this girl when she was younger. She would have to make an effort to learn her name as well.

[Spacer]Shaking her head she swung a leg over and dropped to the floor, rather then climbing down. Rolling her shoulders she quickly got ahold of her bag and rummaged around to find her nail polish remover. New day new design and all that. She wondered, briefly, if any of the others would allow her to paint their nails later, as she swiped her own free of the colors that once dawned them before capping her remover bottle. Storing the bottle away her pulled out her soaps, change of clothes, and such, before heading for the bathroom to wash up for the day.

[Spacer]Stepping into the large room, she eye'd the left over steam left on the mirror from all the other girls. She considered her own thoughts for a moment, before grinning and stepping forward to scrawl 'Jamie waz here' in the fogged up surface, following it by a goggly eye'd smiley face. Laughing at herself she placed her stuff on the counter and turned to the showers. She quickly went about heating up the water, and let her mind wander to the men.

[Spacer]There was Carl. He seemed gentlemanly enough. The big teddy bear type. He had seemed worried enough when that Avianna had tried to ruin her day. He even seemed to catch on that the girl had done it on purpose. So, she guessed, he must be the sharp type. He had, despite her insistence, escorted her back inside. Which, she would never admit, she was grateful for. Her head had been swimming and she was a tad worried about falling out. She could see herself growing to be friends with the man before their time here was up. Maybe not....relationship wise, but friends none the less. (Then again, it was very early in the game, hard to tell what would happen.) After all, as sweet as the big bear type was, ...it wasn't her type.

[Spacer]Then there was the other boy who had been about to play a quick game of ball. She tried to think of his name, sure she had heard it at one point from Carl. It started with an E...Eric maybe? She'd have to keep and ear out for it, or ask Carl to let her know. That....Eric guy? Him. He had seemed the sporty laid back type. She was actually a little upset she hadn't gotten a chance to speak with him. He kinda reminded her of some of her male friends back home. She had hoped they could at least get along. Really, friends seemed like the way to go in this house. Especially when everyone seemed so vicious!

[Spacer]Finally there was Ren. She wasn't afraid to admit she had taken a liking to him ...Not Like That! Just a liking, like you take a liking to a person, such as she had Hana, Eric(?), or Carl. He had approached her so easily...then seemed to lock up. If it wasn't for that witch, Avianna, se might had gotten him to open up a little more and talk to her. He seemed a little up tight, but those were always the ones that were fun once they relaxed a little. One of her goals for the day, she decided, would be to approach him this time. A kindness for a kindness and all that nonsense.

[Spacer]The rest of the men...well....she actually didn't have the foggiest. She really should make an effort to track them down and say hello. She needed to get to know everyone, after all. With that thought she tested the water with her hand and found it warm to the touch, but not overly so. Just the way she liked it. Shedding her night clothes, and grabbing her things, she stepped into the warm spray with a blissful sigh. The water pressure here was something truly heavenly. It wasn't long till she was scrubbing her hair and swinging her hips to music in her head.

[Spacer]It wasn't long, really, until lyrics began to slip out of her mouth and into the bathroom. "You're a Rolling Stone boy: Never sleep alone boy. Got a million numbers and they're filling up your phone, boy. I'm off the deep end, sleeping. All night through the weekend. Saying that I love him but I know I'm gonna leave him." A small grin slowly started to form between each word as the last of the shampoo slipped from her hair. "You say that you're no good for me 'cause I'm always tugging at your sleeve, and I swear I hate you when you leave. I like it anyway." A hand reached blindly for her conditioner, and instead of working it into her hair she ended up using it as a microphone instead. "My ghost; Where'd you go? I can't find you in the body sleeping next to me. My ghost; Where'd you go? What happened to the soul you used to be?" During her little dance during the slow and short break something accrued to her. There was four girls to shower before her, unknown amount of boys. All using hot water for however long they go. Most people like long showers in the morning. How was she getting any hot water? "I'm searching for something that I can't reach-AII!" Almost as if on cue, the water turned to ice.

Yeah, today was gonna suck.
Breakfast Time

[Spacer]She came sprinting into the living room, blowing on her nails even though she had already triple checked to make sure they were dry. She was almost late, and she knew it. Apparently Carl was late too. How would she know that, you ask? Well. Considering she had actually run into his back at full speed while he to was scurrying in, says quite a lot. She stumbled dazed for a moment before whispering a sorry and then offering a more chipper hello. She hadn't waited for an answer before rushing to her seat with a little wave in his direction. She could offer a better apology later.

[Spacer]She didn't seem to realize they weren't exactly supposed to enjoy the breakfast of choice. When she was a kid, towards some of her darker memories, she remembered this being a common meal in her home. So, used to it, she didn't mind in the least. She just quietly tore her bread into strips and dunked them into her milk, before nibbling on the soggy edges while listening to the host. When she mentioned their task would be under their glass she glanced curiously at the piece of paper stored under her cup. Placing her bread strip down she lifted the glass and snagged the paper. Sweeping. Easy. She could do that.

[Spacer]Glancing back to the host she began to tear her scrap of paper into little ribbons like she had with the bread before. So she was stuck on a team with. Avianna. Great, joy really. Hana, excellent. She could make an effort to get to know her. Ren. She'd admit, she was excited for a second chance to talk to him. And finally Edra! She had been...way off on the name.

[Spacer]She had begun to think maybe this wouldn't be so bad until she found out the task of cooking...and everyone started to throw in their two cents. She just sat back and returned to her breakfast as they gibbered on. They were doomed. Avianna seemed to want to do her own thing, Edra suggested Steak of all things, and she wasn't the best cook in the world. Luckily Hana and Ren seemed to know what they were doing. With a little sigh she sipped her milk then spoke up,

[Spacer]"I'm Jamie for those of you I haven't told yet." She finally speaks up, "and if anyone cares for my opinion spicy is always a plus. But i'm feeling a noodle dish. No matter what though, I'm ok with anything that's not mayo heavy." She tapped her plate for a second before continuing on, "I'm not the best cook in the world, but i'm not god awful. So just point me in the direction I need to go and tell me what to do." She paused for a moment then added in a joking tone, "And if we're minions, I'd like to be minion number three. If that's alright with the rest of you. Minion #3 has no food allergies."[/Spacer][/Spacer][/Spacer][/Spacer][/Spacer]

Kyoko answered Mei's question willingly, "I'm in fact, 23, certainly not the youngest, nor the oldest." Her gaze shifted towards Carl, and she immediately felt a bit guilty of the statement she had just voiced out. "No offense, Carl."

She really disliked it when she made people feel uncomfortable. Age wasn't a very touchy issue anyway, however, it seemed rude at the time.

"Tea?" Kyoko asked, perking up when she heard Sieg explain something about a tea. "I guess I could fix up an oolong tea or maybe a fusion, depends on the menu." Kyoko had tons of experience with tea. She would even set up her own tea shop if she wasn't too busy with blogging, fashion, and such.

She was also aware that she would be working with one of the other contestants whom which she had not met yet. Justin, was his name? Kyoko just hoped that he wouldn't be much of a burden to her.

"Alright, is everyone prepared to complete their task?" asked Kyoko with all the confidence she had.

TUESDAY, The Living Room, 09.15 A.M.
"THE LUNCH WAR GAME"

28v4m15.jpg

2urphew.jpg

Cerena watched as each group made their discussion, Group 1 wasn't in a good harmony she assumed, while Group 2 seemed to be more get along with each other. Carefully, Cerena took notes about how the group was doing, though the winner would be determined by the votes, she would put the teamwork score as well. When she was busy observing, one of the crew called her and talked about more modification about the show. Cerena raised her brow in surprise, "Why does the producer keep changing the rules? It will make the candidates confused you know," the crew just shook his head and shrugged, they could do anything when the producer had spoken.

Grunted, Cerena back to the living room and cleared her throat to gain the candidates' attention, "Sorry for bothering your activity, but I have several announcements for you. FIRST, there will be teammates extra points. Yes, my friends, you can rate your teammates after the game is over from 0-20. I will give you a piece of paper later. However, I will be the one who make the final extra points. Your points are for my consideration. So, please, work your ass off and help your teammates," Cerena paused for a moment. She thought that announcing about the elimination now was not a great idea, so she decided to tell them later about it, "I think that's all. I will give the second announcement after this game is finished."

With that, Cerena back to the sofa, observing the groups again. She kept on looking at her watch, made sure that she didn't forget to remind about the time. After the minute hand passed the number twelve, Cerena smiled and shouted in loud voice, "15 MINUTES HAVE PASSED, YOU HAVE 45 MINUTES MORE TO FINISH THE LUNCH!"

☆ LOCATION ⌋ (Backyard) Market
Avianna, not wanting to look like a stalker, she waited a while before following Edra to the backyard. "So, what should we get for this?" She looked at him, smiling.

Edra was looking at the market curiously, he was surprised that the market was delicately built in a single night. Did they hire genies or something? Still with his fascinated eyes, Edra roamed around the market to see what they sold. The greenie might not look appealing, but the a bunch of meats surely made his stomach growled. And then, right when he was enjoying the scenery, a cheery voice greeted him. He rolled his eyes and sighed, Why is she everywhere? I'm there, she's there, I'm here, she's here. However, Edra couldn't complain since they were in the same group, it was actually normal seeing her here.

"How should I know? They just said that someone needs to check out the market and I do," Edra crossed his arms while still looking at the market, he did his best to avoid looking at Avianna, "We must take whatever we can back to the dorm, it will save up times," without waiting for her response, Edra began to collect some ingredients, though all he picked were meats.

Avianna just stared at him, dumbfounded. She couldn't believe that this boy only picked up almost 10 pounds of assorted meat. "No, no, just no." She took the meat, setting it back down. "Do you really think we need all that meat? I think not." She went to the table, picking up different spices and some pasta noodles and things like that. "Now, that's better." Shaking her head at Edra.

Edra raised his brow and watched as the blonde took the meats he had picked then put it back to where it was. Instead, she took spices and pasta noodles. Obviously, Edra shook his head in disagreement, "No, that's is not better. Pasta noodles won't fill anyone's stomach," Edra took everything that Avianna took and put it back just like she did before, "Let's just go back and let them decide what they want to pick. We only need to see what this market have anyway."

He wasn't asking, he made a statement, so without asking or waiting for Avianna's response, Edra already walked back to the dormitory. He waved his hand while still walking, "You can stay there as long as you want. I'm going back."

Avianna watched as he left. "Really!" She rolled her eyes, folding her arms. Not willing to look like a fool, she picked up the spices, AGAIN. She then walked back into the house, putting them on whatever table her group was cooking at. "Jerk."

Ren nodded as Edra rushed out, shortly followed by Avianna, to the backyard where a market was supposedly set up by the staff for the mere purpose of the activity. The host, Cerena, mentioned that the market had everything they could possibly need, but Ren highly doubted it. There were just some ingredients which weren't commonly found.

Before he could forget Edra's food preference, he quickly whipped out his phone and made a quick note of what he said. He did the same for Jamie's preferences. While their current approach at it was effective, it was consuming quite the amount of time. There has to be a faster way to do this. Just as the thought grazed his mind, his onyx eyes landed on the host, Cerena Lainell. At that instance, an idea popped into his head. Why not just ask Cerena! Surely she's read the participants' profile, which meant that she also knew what the participants liked--Ren could recall seeing it in his application after all, the application that his mother filled out for him which was scarily accurate.

"I think we should just ask Cerena for information on any food allergies the contestants may have. It'll certainly speed up things and time is of the essence right now."

Jamie watched Avianna scramble after Edra, probably thinking she was sneaky for waiting a moment or two before following. To anyone who wasn't born yesterday it was clear the girl was after that boy like he was made of gold. It must truly been a struggle to live with such a strong thirst, she almost felt sorry for the girl. She was knocked quite completely from her thoughts by Ren's voice, he was suggesting that they ask to Host about allergies and such. She was about to volunteer, desperate to be helpful, but before she could get anything out Hana has already spoken up.

Hana spared a quick glance to Ren as he suggested the idea of someone taking up the task of talking to Cerena. At that she stepped passed him a bit and flashed a soft smile as she spoke up. "I'll take up that little task and see what she has to say on those things. Safer to ask than just doing it." The half-Brit nodded in approval of Hana volunteering to take up the task. He then gave her a smile and said, "Alright. Thanks Hana." In that moment she brushed by the others as her skirt flitted against her legs with each step she took as she crossed the room to find Cerena as she gave her a happy smile.

"Hey there , Cerena! I was just wondering if any of the other contestent's had food allergies that we should be alerted of and of any food preferences peep's here have? I'd hate to see anything bad go down." She kept her paled eyes to that of Cerena as she spoke up in a cheery tone. "Oh, hi there... Hana! Great, great, everything seems perfect until now. You wanna know about food allergies and preferences? Hmm, should I consider that cheating because you ask me? Ah whatever~ I will help you this time. Let me see my notes first," Cerena opened her precious notes which contains a lot of information about the show and candidates, "Okay... For the males. The only one who has allergy is Ren, peanut. He prefers pasta as favorite food. Edra dislikes bitter coffee, while Ren likes it more than tea. Edra has some kind of... addiction? To chocolate. Siegfried dislikes sweet potatoes, but likes any meals with potatoes. Carl, the oldest one here, loves lobster stew with a fine wine, wow how classy. Though home-cooked meals work for him too. Last one, Justin, food is his favorite food? What the hell does it mean? Maybe he will just eat everything."

Cerena paused and turned the page to find about the females' information, "We will begin with Jamie, she thinks mayo is disgusting, chips and salsa is her favorite. Mei, anything sweets will please her, just don't give her salty foods. Favorite food is blackberry? I don't know if that can be counted as food. I really need to ask them to fix their profile... Let's move on for now. Kyoko likes macaroons, you know the sweet french pastry, I like it too honestly. The last one is the loving barbie doll... This is a long profile, my poor eyes... Okay, she hates sushi and I think anything expensive will please her, but her favorites are anything sweet, like cookies, ice cream, you can list it yourself I guess."

Cerena closed the notes and smiled at Hana, "I think I don't need to read yours since you know it yourself, right? I hope I don't miss anything and do you note everything? Because I won't repeat that long list. Anything I can do to help you?" Hana finished writing down the note's on the small pad of everything Cerena had just told her. She gave Cerena a small as she shook her head just a slight bit. "Nope! I think we're good for now... But , if I need anything else I'll give you a call. Thanks again!" At that she gave a small wave as she headed back over to the area where her team stood by.

☆ LOCATION ⌋ Living Room → Around the Dormitory
Ren watched as the blonde--Hana, not Avianna--sauntered off towards Cerena. While he was happy that everything needed to be taken care of at the moment had someone handling them, he was a bit displeased upon finding himself being idle. For one, it doesn't bode well for his image. His onyx eyes wandered about the area, trying to think of what he and Jamie could do to help the team.

A little down trodden Jamie nodded, consenting it was a good idea, before casting Ren a curious look. "What exactly does that leave for us? Got any other jobs to hand out, or does that leave time for daily tasks until everyone comes back? I could probably get mind done in about ten, maybe fifteen minutes. They should be back by then, right?"

His eyes landed on Jamie as soon as he heard her voice. The daily task. Ren completely forgot about their daily tasks thanks to the lunch war game. "Nothing left needed to be taken care of regarding the game at the moment. I suppose it'd be wise to do our daily tasks now while we have the time." He didn't know what else the show producers had in stored for the participants for the rest of the day. It could be another game. In any case, it was best to get the tedious tasks out of the way. His was fairly easy to accomplish though. In fact, he planned on finishing it as they prepared the food for lunch. He smiled at his companion. "What's your daily task Jamie? I could help you if you want" Since his was fairly easy to finish, he might as well help the others with their tasks.

She turned and smiled at Ren, it seemed right up the man's ally to offer help. That is if you asked her. He seemed so efficient and task oriented. ...In her head she could help but picture Ren with little dog ears that perked up at the word 'task'. "I just need to take a broom to the dorm, it'll be quick enough but I would enjoy the company since your offering." She'd consider her self a bit daft to turn him down. One, free labor. Two, well, wasn't the point of this game to get to know the opposite gender. That way the pick you at the end? Honestly, she was a bit fuzzy on the mechanics of everything. ...She hadn't paid as much attention as she should of.

"Right, I'll go get the broom then." The raven-haired managing director took a step forward, about to head to where the cleaning supplies were kept when an important question suddenly popped in his mind. "Are the bedrooms included in your task?"

"For the most part, I think another contestant was assigned to sweep too, since I only had certain places." She hummed the mindlessly listed off the locations that had been listed on her task paper. She suddenly smiled rather dazzlingly, subconsciously using her power to make her normal smile extra dorky. "Might as well grab two brooms."

"I see. I'll be back real quick." The only reason why he asked was cause he was worried that Jamie would decide to clean the girls' bedroom, that was still part of the dormitory as a whole after all. If that were the case, then he wasn't certain if he'll be able to help her clean there; not that he had to be with her to be able to help with the task. After all, he could as well take up the boys' bedroom or even the living area. Either way he would be able to help. The issue however, was that he was hoping to fulfill his own task as he helped her. In any case, he figured he'll find out after he's gotten the brooms.

He came back not a second too soon, holding two brooms in one hand and a dustpan in the other. Ren figured that one dustpan should be enough for the job. They could just take turns with it. He handed Jamie one of the brooms with a friendly smile on his face. "Lead the way."

She could have just accepted it with a smile and a thanks, but really, what was the fun in that? With a sly grin she replied, "Lead the way? So you like the lady to take charge?" She did take a little pity, however. Instead of coming across as completely inappropriate, she added on a laugh to give him an indication that she wasn't trying to hit on him in front of cameras. In reality it was killing her not to needle the guy, he seemed like the type that would be fun to watch squirm in embarrassment. She jokingly offered an arm like a proper gentleman, after shifting the broom to one hand, "This way sir."

Ren's smile dropped at her statement and he stammered to get a response out quickly. "I-No! I mean,.." Before he could properly get the words out of his mouth he noticed the grin on her face. Oh the little devil. It became evident to him that the girl was enjoying herself. The question now was, should he play along? Ren didn't see why not. With a little grin of his own, he took the arm she offered. "Why thank you my kind lady."

She lead them away with a little excited laugh. She really hadn't expected him to be so laid back about being teased, but she was more then OK with finding out. Her favourite kind of victim was the one that played along.

Together they made quick time of clearing out her assigned rooms, slowly but surely getting the end of her task. Which, believe it or not, kinda disappointed her. She had been having fun making little teasing remarks at him, and at times just enjoying the general silence between them. "...Just one more room." She cheered.

His onyx eyes moved to the watch on the wall and found that only about ten or so minutes had gone by. They certainly worked fast. Just then he remembered about his own task which he ever so forgot once more--he was seriously starting to consider taking memory aiding medicine now with the amount of things he keeps on forgetting these days. Ren had yet to accomplish his own task. It was now or never...or later, but he preferred just getting it over now rather than dragging it over until later. "Hey uhh Jamie, this is a bit of a weird question but might I ask... what was your childhood dream?"

"Ah? Childhood dream... Give me a second." She paused and swept in silence for a few seconds, "Well, if we're talking goal-oriented dreams. As dumb as this is going to sound, I always thought I was gonna end up releasing CD's or Tapes. You know, for music? I thought I could live doing that, it was what I loved when i was little. It was stupid, really, I mean. Who makes it in music anyway? I was even still living on the farm in my fantasies and everything. Eh, long story short, I was an...ambitious kid." She shakes her head at her past self with a snort.

After a few more seconds, really it was more of a beat then anything else, she turned to him with an odd expression, "That was out of left field. What brought it up?"

Ren momentarily stopped sweeping and merely watched as she told him her story. It was certainly something one he had not expected to hear. For some reason he thought she'd say one of the generic childhood dreams such as becoming a doctor which was actually what he wished to become at one point, but reality woke him from the dream; just like how reality woke Jamie up from her's. He may have not travelled the path of his childhood dreams, but he was (sorta) happy nonetheless. A smile formed on his face.

He slowly shook his head in response to her query. "Curiosity" he lied as he resumed sweeping. For some reason he didn't want for her to know that he asked for the sake of his daily task. In fact, he was actually contemplating on not reporting back to Cerena about his findings. Childhood dreams, while for most people was a trivial matter, there were those that felt it was a bit personal and thus don't exactly share it with everyone. Ren didn't know which type Jamie was but just to be certain, and to respect her as well, he wasn't going to tell Cerena for some measly points. There was plenty of opportunity for him to earn some.

A few more seconds later he took another pause from sweeping and looked back at Jamie. "You know, making music isn't such a far fetched ambition." Ren gave the Heterochromatic girl a slight grin. "Why don't you sing something as we finish up sweeping?" Without waiting for her response, he went back to sweeping the floor. It was up to her if she would sing something or not. If she does then awesome; if she doesn't then Ren wont try and force her. He wasn't that kind of a person.

She let herself look at him for a moment, almost as if in wonder, "..You're not...anything like I expected." If it wasn't for the pleased tone of her voice, and the smile pulling at her lips, it might had been an insult. She turned back to her sweeping, and after a moment her voice nervously joined the sound of the brooms against the floor. No more words needed to be exchanged between them. She was... content.

☆ LOCATION ⌋ Living Room

With fifteen minutes off the clock, the group converge back into the living room. They only had a finite amount of time left (45 minutes to be exact) and they still had to make significant progress. Then again, the fact that they're actually looking like a functional team now instead of a ticking time bomb made Ren a bit more hopeful for the team. It was time to consolidate the information gathered and plan things out with everyone. First, he turned towards Hana. "What did you find out from Cerena regarding food preferences and allergies of everyone?"

Hana glanced at Ren as she flashed a soft smile against her lips before withdrawing her small notepad. She decided to keep things simple and short. She than spoke up on what she had learned. "Well from what I gathered we definitely need to keep from using peanuts. We have a mix between everyone here to be honest. Pasta's seem to be a well rounded like of all and sweet's as well. We have some that have a preference for berries and than other's more so for chocolate. I think with desert if we stick around that generalized area all will go smoothly." Her eye's flickered to the group as they lit against the lighting as she tucked the pad back against her hip.

Ren nodded in understanding, he seemed to be nodding quite a lot this day. He pulled out his trusty phone and added the information into the note where he added the information on Edra and Jamie's food preferences. As soon as he was done, he looked towards Avianna and Edra. "And what about the market? What did they have in?"

Avianna looked at Ren. "This, spices for the food. There was more things, but jock head didn't think we needed them." She pointed to the spices that she had brought to the table... maybe Edra and her weren't the best choice to get things for the group, oh well now.

For someone who didn't like Avianna, Jamie sure looked like she was going threw hell trying not to laugh at the girls irritation at the boy she had currently been thirsting after like she was dying of dehydration.

"What? Jock head? Who? Me?" Edra quickly peeked in from Ren's shoulder, looking at Avianna, before he stood next to her. While pointing at her, Edra started to blame her too, "She told me not to bring meats, now we only have spices for lunch," Edra shrugged and sat at the sofa while leaning his back, "They have almost everything I guess, this show is totally putting their effort. I can go again if you want me too, but give me the list, I don't know what to take. I don't even know what to cook."

A tiny snicker managed to break free at his retort, she had to cover her mouth and turn away from the pair. She didn't wanna lose her cool and make things worse by laughing at the argument.

The half-Brit shook his head in disapproval of the squabble their team seemed to be fond of getting into. It had to stop. "Alright lovebirds, break it up." Ren was never one to say such things but he had to admit, the way Avianna and Edra bickered right now reminded him of a married couple; so much so that Ren wouldn't be surprised if the two ended up together by the end of the show. He feels like Edra was the only guy around capable of matching Avianna's bitchy attitude.

He frowned at the haul the two brought back. "I told you guys to just check things out, not get anything." Onyx eyes looked at the meat that Edra brought back. At least he knew how to choose them. They then darted to the haul brought back by Avianna. His long delicate yet calloused fingers reached for one of the small spice bottles and turned so that the label was facing him. The words written were that of a foreign language, but one that he understood to be 'rosemary' thanks to familiarity. He did the same for the others. "Rosemary, basil, thyme, oregano, marjoram, black pepper and salt" he enumerated the haul of herbs and spices before moving on to the pasta that was brought back. "Hmm, farfale and angel hair... odd combination." Ren looked towards Avianna. "I take it you want for the team to cook pasta? Not a bad choice, specially considering the time we have left." Of course Ren would say that, pasta was his favourite dish after all, it was also his specialty but he wasn't going to say that; not yet at least. As self-proclaimed leader of the team--they really did need one--it was his duty to remain unbiased.

"I have to admit, you guys brought back a good haul despite not being given an idea on what we'll be making, like Edra mentioned a while ago. However, we wont be needing all of them. No dish that can be cooked within the set time will make use of all of them. Cooking two main dishes is also not possible, we simply don't have enough time." he paused and placed a hand under his chin while the other supported the arm connected to it. "Considering that we already have some pasta noodles here, I suggest we go Italian and cook up some pasta. As Hana mentioned earlier, pasta is quite the crowd pleaser." He then lowered his arms and approached Edra to give him a pat on the back. "We can cook up some of the meat you brought back after the game, sound good?" Ren smiled at him and turned towards the rest of the group. "What do you guys think?"

Edra smiled back at Ren when he mentioned about the meats, this man could be a good ally. Edra was glad he was in this group, he couldn't imagine if he was the only man here. Edra would totally resign from this show.

Avianna started to laugh. "Awww, the baby needs to be cared for. He wants his meat, so sad." She started to fake cry, and then smirked at Edra. She knew being cute wouldn't do for this one, she had to be a bitch to match his jerk.

She knew what she thought, Ren was just being nice for politeness. The haul they had brought back looked like a large pile of nothing to her. Then again, what exactly did she know? She rolled her eyes slightly at him trying to placate Edra with promises of a meat dinner after lunch. She had to admit Avianna had the guy pegged. A Jock-Head. Granted she was ragging on that type of guy, but it was a little frustratingly cliche. She hoped there was more depth to the other.

Avianna's remark caused a slight frown to settle on Ren's face. It was brief, and he highly doubted anyone would've noticed but that was easily debatable. Besides, he was fairly certain that he wasn't the only unpleased with Avianna's little remark. Before another verbal argument could even ensue, he spoke up once more. "So... any suggestions on what dish to cook?"

Avianna looked at the group, rolling her eyes she decided to speak up on what the dish should be. "I think we should do Pasta Primavera, that would be simple, tasty... and the best dish to get us the win. I mean, we want to win right?" She looked at everyone, hoping the idiots would finally agree with her, for once.

Jamie nodded slowly like considering what the other woman had suggest. She liked the idea of a pasta dish, even if she didn't like her. While she might not know to much about cooking, she did know garlic bread went well with pasta. According to every restaurant and movie, like, ever. "If we're doing pasta, a salad or some garlic bread to be nice. I personally Love carbs, so I think the breads the best bet."

Edra watched as his team trying to suggest this and that. His previous offer was declined, so he would just go with anything for the lunch as long as it fulfilled his precious belly, "Yes, Italian dish sounds great to me, just make it big. I mean usually Italian dishes are not so fulfilling," he paused and suddenly he remembered his precious chocolate, "If I'm right, you say about dessert, right? Why don't we have chocolate for dessert? Chocolate can fix our 'might failed' lunch, like our secret weapon! I think... hmm let me see, what can we do with chocolate..." The spiky male scratched his head while thinking hard, he loved chocolate, he was a chocolate maniac so he knew a lot of chocolate-based dessert which of course took longer for him to pick one.

Hana pondered through several simple sweet recipes in her head that involved chocolate or could be incorporated in.. It was than that it clicked in her head as she grinned quite happily before throwing out an idea of her own as she could definitely tell that Edra was pumped for anything involving chocolate. She tucked her blonde locks back behind her head as she gave her hand a small wiggle in the air before speaking up. "Why don't we do a Crepe? I have done chocolate one's before with a light chocolate ganache... A dusting of powdered sugar matched by a mint leaf. It really is light and sweet to the taste buds... How does that sound with you guys? I'd me more than happy to give the recipe and all for it!" Her smile remained held warm against the soft pink curve of her lips as she looked to the other's with a pleasent eager gaze as she settled her gaze to them.

"Alright. Everything sounds good. If there are no objections I'll be compiling a list of ingredients we'll be needing now." Ren was happy the group was able to make a decision rather quickly. It seems that he may have been wrong about them. He began making a list of the ingredients they would be needing to cook the pasta primavera, garlic bread, and crepes. Thankfully his time spent on looking up recipes in the past, trying to think of what to cook for dinner and such, has helped him familiarize himself with what ingredients they'll be needing. The only thing he wasn't familiar with was the recipe on crepes as he was never dabbled too much on desserts and confectionery in the past. His mom had always been there to provide him with the desserts, plus there was always those cake gifts from business partners, that Ren never felt the need to make his own. No matter, Google was just a tap away thanks to his phone.

Once he was done organizing the list, he looked to his team-mates once more. "I have the list of ingredients we still need. Going to head off to the market, anyone want to help me look for the ingredients?" he turned towards Edra and Avianna "I would ask you two to come along, due to being familiar with the market since you guys have visited it already, but I want for you guys to use this time to do your respective daily tasks." Ren then shifted his attention to Jamie and Hana and gave them a smile, "So... which one of you would want to come along? The more people looking the faster we find the things we need."

Jamie chose then to speak up, "I've already gotten my task done, and quickly might I add. Thanks to you. So I really would be best put to use in the market helping you out. I don't want to be lazing about while everyone else does all the work!"

Ren smiled at Jamie. It was a relief to hear a positive answer, for a second he got worried that no one was going to volunteer to accompany him at the market. While Ren was used to shopping for supplies on his own, they were working on a tight schedule right now and therefore needed to be efficient. Having him go alone was definitely inefficient. It'll take him a bit too long to pick up every ingredient they needed. He needed someone to help him gather things, that much was certain. "Great! Thank you." He then walked to the door that lead to the backyard and opened it, but he didn't step out just yet. Instead, Ren motioned his free arm towards it. "Let's go then."

☆ LOCATION ⌋ Men's Bathroom
Avianna was not happy about doing her task, who would ever want to clean a bathroom... the boy's bathroom at that! This place was torture, she rolled her eyes. Finding the cleaning supplies, she brought them to the bathroom. Glad that it was just the first or second day really, so there was not too much of a mess. Avianna knew how boy's never really cared to keep bathrooms clean.

Edra, who didn't have anything to do, decided to roam around. Peeking at the other group as he made his way to the male's bathroom. When he arrived there... it seemed that fate was playing with his life now because even at the place where girls shouldn't be there, he could find the blonde again, the walking barbie doll, Avianna in the bathroom, "Wow, what a pleasant surprise, I should take a mental note that Avivi loves hanging around in male's bathroom," Edra made his famous smirk as he leaned his body to the bathroom's door.

Turning around, Avianna saw Jock Head... Edra smirking at her. "Really? YOU would come right in here, right about now?" She walked over to him. "Who's stalking who now?" She folded her arms, tapping her foot on the floor. "What do you want, if you need to use the bathroom... go outside, like the animal you are." Avianna did not want to wait for him to finish, or whatever, she wanted to get this over with.

Edra folded his arms as Avianna walked closer to him, so now they were both folding their arms while staring at each other, "Me? Stalking you? Can you even see that this is male's bathroom?" Edra rubbed his chin and smirked again, "Ah... I know your plan, you intentionally came here so you can 'accidentally' meet me, right?"

Avianna rolled her eyes at Edra. "Yeah, I came in here JUST to bump into you... get over yourself, boy." She grabbed a spray bottle, acting like she was about to spray him. "Get out already... gosh you're more annoying than my little brother."

Then, Edra wanted to tease the girl more, so he leaned his face closer, close enough to feel her breath right in front of his face, "If that is your purpose, I don't mind sharing the bathroom, yes I wanna use the bathroom and you can stay here with me, hmm?" If Avianna freaked out, Edra would feel more than satisfied.

Avianna eyes almost popped out of her head. Did he really just say that to her? "That is just gross... you would probably want me to stay in here, freak." She pushed by him. "Just hurry up, if you take longer than ten minutes, I will hit you with the spray bottle."

Edra laughed and walked inside, eyeing the blonde as she went outside the bathroom. After he was finished with his business, he walked outside and waved, "Stop playing at the male's bathroom, Avina." He laughed again and finally left Avianna alone.

☆ LOCATION ⌋ Girls' Bedroom
Hana had broken away from the group a bit ago to go complete her task of sweeping the girl's area's.. With a small smile she fetched the broom from the closet as she trailed her way down the hall towards the girl's dorms. She turned in through the open door as she began to sweep from the entryway in. Her lips parted as she began to sing in a softened lyrically sound voice.. She was alone and to be honest she never truly sang in front of other's.. Being a Kitsune meant without a single doubt that she could sing.. It was one of the many ways that had expressed their tale's to small children and people over the centuries.. Not like anyone knew what she was and she planned to keep it that way. She spinned a bit on her heel as her body swayed to the tune as the broom swept and glided against the floor. It was than she felt the broom thumped into one of the bags as it collapsed to the ground spilling forth all the things held within it. She cursed briefly as she leaned the broom against the edge of the bunk bed post. With that she kneeled down and began to pick things up.. Her eye's though caught sight of a card.. Her hand grasped it as she brought it up.. It didn't take long for her to read keys words that she felt her lips part as she gasped.. Avianna had been with a married man...? What the.... Did the girl have moral's when it came to those things?? Her eye's remained ever so widened as she quickly tossed it back into the confines of the bag with Avi's things.. She so wouldn't go saying something and this all but changed on how she was fully viewing her.. She could be the kind who could take whatever man she wants from whomever without a single fret or concern. "Geesh... Always has to be one of those.." She said lowly as she gathered up the bag and placed it neatly back upon the bed as she backed away with the broom replaced back in her hand. At that she finished as she still wondered how she'd have to keep a close eye on Avi.. She wanted a chance at love just a little.

With that she finished up the sweeping as she would think on what to do later... She wandered back down the hall as she placed the broom back into the closet as her skirts whipped against her legs. She than made her way back to the kitchen as she wandered back to the kitchen area to see what else she could put herself to doing since she was alone in the area of the house.

☆ LOCATION ⌋ (Backyard) Market
The moment that he stepped out into the backyard Ren found himself dumbfounded at the sight. Now he could see why Edra and Avianna claimed that the market had everything and anything they would ever possibly need for the task at hand; it was because it practically did have everything! He felt like he died and gone to heaven. Finding the ingredients he needed had always been an arduous task for him. There had been times when he had to jump from market to market just to find all the right ingredients he needed for that one dish he wanted to cook--or that had been requested by his mother.

She occasionally glanced to the side at her companions noticeable glee. She wondered, briefly, if he was aware of just how much he looked like a child in a candy shop at the moment. Even more so she really hoped the camera was catching his expression. It was a cute as it was side splitting. She cleared her throat to get his attention. "...You know I was inclined to make fun of the two when they first came back, but now that were here... They really did pick out some good stuff." She paused, "Well, she did, Edra just brought back a butt load of meats." She snickered at the memory. She didn't bother referring to Avianna by name, not really wanting to give the girl that much.

Ren snapped back to reality upon hearing the cough that came from his companion. For a second, he completely forgot that he wasn't alone--hell, he most probably even forgot that they were here to grab up materials for the game. If it weren't for Jamie, Ren would've probably taken the opportunity to grabs things to stock up his pantry back at home with. The spice range they had was just a-ma-zing! He chuckled at the mention of Edra's meat haul. "Yeah, well to be fair he had no idea what we were going to be cooking. Speaking of which..." Ren took out his trusty phone from his pocket once more and opened the note containing the list of ingredients they needed. He then handed the device to Jamie for her to see what they needed. "I think it'll be better if we split up and cover more ground. We already have the pasta we need so we can check that off the list. The spices as well so that's another less. All we need now are the ingredients for the garlic bread, crepes and the rest of the ingredients for the pasta primavera."

She flicked through the list glancing up briefly at him as he spoke, nodding along in agreement. "Ok, sounds like a solid plan. Instead of breaking up the list I'll just start at the left of the market, and you work from the right. We'll meet in the middle, alright?" She suddenly pulled out her own phone, "Here, send me the list so I don't miss anything."

He nodded at her words. "Sounds good. How do you want me to send it? Mail, text, or Bluetooth?"

A sly grin took up her face, "Depends, which are you willing to have me know from now on?"

The half-Brit's eyebrows shot up in surprise. He honestly expected her to choose the last option as it shared hardly any contact details they could later on use. Ren quickly recovered from his surprise. Well two can play at that game. "Phone number. I'll text it over to you." From experience he knew that girls didn't give away their phone numbers to strangers so easily--unless they were the ... uhhm, that type; but Ren was fairly certain that Jamie wasn't that.

Oh, you wanna play, huh? was all she could think in her surprise. Her expression turned challenging sly grin never leaving her face, "Here, let me plug it into your phone." She held out a hand. The raven-haired male handed her his phone, with the screen unlocked of course, without any hesitation whatsoever.

Without pause her fingers darted over the screen. 602-555-2946. She handed it back with a playful wink, "Usually a guy has to take me out before he gets my number. Consider yourself lucky." ....actually he had to take her out more than once to get her main phone number, instead of the phone she uses while on a case so her real number wasn't in her clients' hands, but he didn't need to know that.

"Remind me to take you out later then." he jokingly responded. Though quite honestly, he wouldn't mind going out with her. Jamie was fun company, he certainly felt relaxed around her, even with all the teasing that happens. But she didn't need to know that of course. As soon as he got back his phone, Ren sent the list over via text message. "There. Time to get to work then. See you back in a bit." Ren gave her a small wave before heading out to scavenge the right side of the area.

She nodded and made her way quickly away from him with a wave to avoid the fact that going out with Ren didn't sound too bad. He wasn't nearly as stuffy as she thought he was going to be. She'd have to keep her stupid heart in check, he'd make a great friend as long as she didn't muck it up with another failed relationship.

"THE LUNCH WAR GAME"

28v4m15.jpg

2urphew.jpg

The next 15 minutes was a little bit unexpected than the first one since now Group 1 was more advancing and they seemed to get along better now. Cerena smiled and took another note on her memo, her memory then wandered when Hana asked her about the foods' preferences. It was brilliant actually, seeing how they could find an effective way to gather lot of information without wasting their time. Another thing that Cerena appreciated from them was how they concerned about everyone, so their food would match everyone's taste. Another points for Group 1. Cerena made a lot of notes today even though today was just the first day of the game, the mermaid couldn't wait for more things to be unfolded as the time went by.

Her glance then shifted to the other team. They hadn't made significant progress like the first group. Though Group 2 seemed smoother, their works were much slower. Cerena didn't seen any single of them went outside to check the market. Cerena decided to walk up to Group 2 and cleared her throat to gain their attention, "Hello, Group 2! How is it going with your lunch? I hate to interfere, but I really need to remind you that you only have one hour and 30 minutes have already passed as I speak. I'm worried because I haven't seen you guys do any progress aside from discussing the lunch. I bet you don't want to lose without a fight to Group 1, right?" Cerena smiled and turned her body away, back to her duty to observe the whole group.

Another 15 minutes had passed, so Cerena once again made a loud notice for both groups, "15 MINUTES HAVE PASSED AGAIN, 30 MINUTES LEFT!"

COLLABORATION OF GROUP 2

Moogle-GirlDANAsaurGatemanᗰᗩᗪ ᕼᗩTTEᖇ

Mei smiled warmly at her teammates as she finished speaking, hoping that they wouldn't notice the nervousness hidden behind that smile. She's not really used to be in teams especially with boys. She was glad that Siegfried and Kyoko were both with her, but she just couldn't ignore the two male strangers right? She didn't want to be labeled as rude. Good thing, A male with a golden blonde afro spoke up and agreed with her idea, or else she'll be forced to talk to them an make things awkward. "That sounds like a great idea" Mei agreed shyly, loving his suggestion to make noodles. To Mei's perspective, noodles were easy to cook, not time consuming and surprisingly delicious. Besides, everyone loves Chinese food right? So she's certain everyone will love their dish.

She was about to say something when the male with an afro told her his age, shocking her. "Really?" Mei asked the male, not believing his answer "You don't look like a 35 to me, more like a 28." she said honestly, hoping she isn't offending him. "But thank you for telling me your age, Mister Carl. I'm Mei by the way. Pleasure to meet you." Mei didn't know why but she's starting to warm up towards her team members as her nervousness and shyness slowly simmered down. Perhaps its because she's starting to feel comfortable around them and reminds her of home?

Mei was pulled out of her thoughts when Siegfried suggested to make a mocha expresso cake for dessert. She also loved the idea of serving tea with it. Oh, this lunch definitely reminds her of home. "Excellent! and I take back what I said about you not pleasing your lady. Baking a cake for someone special is always something that pleases everyone" she said with a warm smile before noting he's 26 years of age.

Kyoko then spoke up about her being incharge of the tea which made Mei smile even more. She was thankful that the team seems to work well together and that everyone is willing to win. She also noted that Kyoko is 23, only two years older than her.

"Well then, Siegfried will be in charge of the dessert while Kyoko will be in charge of the tea. For the main course, Mr. Carl and I will prepare them. She then followed Carl to the mini market as he offered her to joined him, leaving the rest of the team.

As Mei and Carl began their little walk towards the mini market, Mei tried to wrack her brain for an easy egg noodle recipe. It should be fresh and easy to make, something everyone would love and most of all, delicious. Finally coming up with the recipe, she turned to Carl with a huge smile on her face, her blue eyes sparkling with excitement "How about we make a spicy chicken noodle soup with lime and ginger? Of course, we can tone down the spicyness but its easy to do. Although it takes an hour to cook but I'm sure we can figure things out!" Mei said excitedly as she unconsciously pulled Carl towards the market, picking up a basket and quickly filling it with ingredients.

Suddenly Mei grabbed his hand, startling him; he preferred not to be touched without express permission. Thankfully she let go to move through the market, her hands a blur as she grabbed up plenty of ingredients with clear confidence. "My, you certainly seem to know what you want to make," he added, chuckling. "What if we added a starch to thicken the soup, so it's easier to eat over noodles? Flour or cornstarch will do the trick."

She grabbed boxes of chicken stock and chicken breasts, some smoked ham and a bunch of herbs: cilantro and mint. She also grabbed a couple of garlic, ginger, lemongrass, green and white scallions, yellow onion, carrots, napa cabbage, chilis, egg noodles, lime and some bottle of fish sauce, soy sauce and salt.

Mei looked at Carl for a minute, thinking thoughtfully before smiling. The soup should be creamy and smooth for everyone to enjoy. She knew that the traditional soup should be just a stock, but adjusting the recipe for everyone to enjoy isn't a bad thing to do. "Yeah. Cornstarch would do to the trick. I forgot that everyone around here is used to creamy soups. Sorry," she giggled, lightly smacking her forehead before taking the cornstarch and the entire basket towards their work bench. The basket was a bit heavy for her but she managed.

Carl gave a small snort, his version of a sincere laugh -- not that most people could tell -- and cracked a smile. The basket was looking awfully heavy, and he moved to pick it up for her, but before he knew it she was already carrying it back to their bench, barely struggling by the looks of it. Not only that, but she immediately started giving him orders. Goodness, what a girl.

Siegfried jumped off the couch, running out to the market to grab ingredients for dessert. Having only an hour to make a delicious cake would be difficult enough, he didn't need to waste time waiting for the others to decide who does what. This was a team effort, sure, but they weren't going to get finished in time if they didn't start soon. Reaching the market, he quickly grabbed everything he'd need: eggs, flour, baking chocolate, cocoa powder, etc, and the secret ingredient to his cake, instant coffee. Carrying everything back, and having to stop twice to retrieve a few things he dropped, he got in the kitchen and started making the batter, soon looking like a cocoa covered madman with a mixer.

15 minutes later

As Mei arrived at the work bench, she immediately started working on the ingredients of the stock, chopping and prepping them. She then glanced at Carl and smiled warmly, trying to order him around. "Carl, could you please chop the vegetables and tend to the noodles while I do the stock?" she asked, taking a big pot and putting it on the stove, pouring the chicken stock and adding the ham, ginger, garlic, lemongrass, cilantro stems, mint stems, and scallion whites.

"Of course!" Carl swung around to another section of the bench, sweeping up the vegetables as he went. For the challenge, they'd been supplied with plenty of assorted knives; Carl chose a large one that fit nicely in his hands and started chopping everything up with expert finesse, pausing to stir the noodles every so often. The herbs smelled delicious as they heated up on Mei's side. "What next?" he asked; Mei seemed comfortable with being in control and Carl didn't want to step on her toes while things were going so smoothly.

Mei hummed as she got lost on seasoning the stock, only regaining her senses when Carl asked her what he would do next. "U-Uh.. um.. let's see.. Oh, We just have to wait for the stock to boil and wait for the chicken breasts to cook." she mumbled, realizing something "Oh gosh! The chicken breasts! I forgot about the chicken breasts!" she panicked, walking over to the basket to see if she picked it up or not. Seeing that she did, Mei quickly took it out of the basket and hugged it like a long lost sister, a relieved sigh escaping her. "Phew. I thought I lost you my dear chicken breasts! You are going to boil be boiled and shredded into pieces but don't worry, you'll be delicious." She then gave the chicken breasts to Carl, smiling sheepishly at her behavior before speaking. "Could you cut some of these into bite sized squares? Then toss it in the stock when you're done. We need to wait for it to simmer and boil before adding the veggies and noodles."

"Sounds good," said Carl, already starting on the task. He cut the chicken breasts up just as quickly as he'd done with the vegetables and added them to the soup. Things were moving smoothly, and they had some time to spare while waiting for the stock to simmer. He didn't mind the lull.

Once the batter was mixed, Siegfried found a set of cupcake tins and began pouring them in. Traditionally, this would be turned into a sheet cake, but those took too long to cook. With the late start they'd gotten, cupcakes would have to be the answer. Thankfully, they were easy enough to make. As he put them in the oven, he began the annoying task of mixing up the icing and glaze. He'd always hated the process of making an icing from scratch, but it would impress the judges a little more and make it a little more likely to make them win.

Upon hearing Cerena's question, Siegfried turned to address her. "Don't worry, Ms. Cerena, we won't lose to them. I just figured it is better to fully plan out a quick meal that's tasty, simple, and easy to make than it is to just jump into it half-cocked. Must be the scientist in me coming out." He said, giving his teammates an easy out. "I somehow convinced these guys to listen to me, so if it comes down to us losing because of time, I'll happily accept the punishment on their behalf. On that note, I think we're gonna kick their asses, don't you guys?"

Once the water on the stove was boiling, he mixed the coffee crystals into it, making an extra strong brew. After it was concentrated to his desire, he mixed it into the confections, giving them a rich brown color and a delectable mocha taste. Now all he needed to do was wait till the cakes were ready for everything. While he waited, he ran back to the male dorm, digging out his box of Remitto tea and bringing it back to the group. "If we mix a sachet or two of this stuff into our tea, it'll help put the judges at ease, and might make them a little more....generous with their scores." Cerena had said they were allowed to use whatever they desired, so long as it didn't affect the other team....

Mei could smell the cupcakes and it made her stomach growl lightly. It seems like Siegfried is doing an excellent job attending to the desserts. Focusing her attention back to the stock and waiting for it patiently. She kind of hated it to wait for it to boil but there's nothing else she could do.

15 minutes later

While he waited for them to continue, Sieg could smell his cupcakes finishing up. As he took them out, he tried to figure out a way to make them cool faster without damaging their flavor. On a whim, he ran back out to the market, seeing if they might have something to help him. After a few minutes, he found a small canister, not unlike a can of air duster, labled 7N: Extremely Cold, HANDLE WITH CARE. They actually had liquid nitrogen! He ran back with the canister, ready to blast his cakes to perfection.

Getting back to the kitchen, he movedhis cupcakes to the cooling rack and drizzled them with the espresso glaze. While that was getting absorbed, he filled a pastry bag with his whipped icing and set it aside. Once he was sure it had absorbed properly, he took the confections outside, and carefully blasted each one with the compressed gas, chilling them so that they could be frosted. Once it was cool enough, he brought it back inside and started frosting each one carefully. Presentation was sure to count, after all.

The stock began to boil and Mei let out a squeal of excitement, quickly taking a small ceramic bowl and filling it with the stock for a taste. She slightly took a sip and let the stock settle on her tongue, trying to figure out if the balance is right. "There's something missing" she mumbled, trying to figure out what it is. She is certain that they placed everything on the stock so what's missing? salt? pepper? cilantro? more mint? At this point, Mei was starting to panic. She didn't want their team to lose because of a ruined main dish!

As she continued to freak out, Sieg snuck up behind her to taste the dish. When she wasn't looking, he tossed a small handful of fresh onion and a small pinch of garlic into the broth before going back to his treats. "Try it now, sweetie." he said politely.

Mei didn't see Sieg tossing anything so she was quite hesitant to taste the stock again, thinking her taste buds are getting messed up. Gulping and taking another spoonful of it before placing it in her small bowl, she gave it to Carl for a taste. "T-Taste it. I think I messed it up" she stated, her eyes getting a bit blurry. She knew it will be childish of her to cry but she just couldn't help it. Biting her lip to stop her from crying, she nervously fidgeted as she waits for Carl's comment, hoping he wouldn't blame her for messing up.

Carl could hear the catch in her voice, but he didn't say anything about it so as to not embarrass her. Instead he took another spoon and had a taste of the soup himself. "This is a fine soup," he said with a nod after pausing to let the flavor marinate on his tongue. "Bold and complex. It suits the calmer flavor of the chicken wonderfully. You've done an excellent job." He smiled at her, and then looked up at Siegfried. "Did you put something else in the stock? What was it?" He had definitely seen the blue-haired man put something in, but it was too quick for Carl to see what it was. "And might I ask how the dessert is moving along? It smells wonderful."

Mei was a bit startled by Carl's reaction, not really expecting it to taste that good. She thought she messed up and going to be punished for it but it seems like Sieg helped her and fixed it for her. "I..uh.." She didn't get to say what she wanted when Carl turned his attention to Siegfried, asking about the desserts. "Oh, yeah. How's the dessert? You're doing cupcakes right?"

As a final garnish, Sieg ground a handful of the coffee crystals together with a bit of sugar and dusted the top with the confection beforehanding each of them one of the cupcakes he'd made. Apparently he'd miscounted the batch and came to have too many. "Why don't you have a taste and find out?" As he saw them both bite into his cakes, Sieg turned to face Carl. "I've got no clue what you're talking about, my friend. I think the problem might have been that Mei tasted the stock just a little too early." He said, hoping Carl would take the hint. He wanted Mei to feel more confident in her cooking skills, she honestly looked like she needed the boost. "Sometimes, we act a little too quickly, before the true potential of a dish can emerge." He went around their station, busying himself with trying to set up a presentable tray for them to carry and serve their food to the judges.

The cupcake Siegfried handed to Carl was cold, as if it had been in the refrigerator for quite some time, but that couldn't be right. He gave the pastry a curious stare before biting into it. Just as bold as the soup, but still sweet. It would be a wonderful finisher to their meal. Siegfried's obvious denial didn't sit right with him, however. "Hrm. Well, the cupcake is delicious, good work." His relaxed demeanor had fallen back a bit; honesty went far with him and he had little interest in boosting any single person above the rest. Not that he realized what Sieg was trying to get at.

Still, he couldn't help but notice that Mei was still looking down, so he turned his attention back to her. "Are you alright, Mei? Your food is wonderful as well." He gave her another smile.

Mei took the cupcake from Siegfried and took a small nibble on it, savoring the flavors and just appreciating how perfect it is. The coffee flavor is strong, yet not overpowering either. The texture was just right and the fluffiness just perfect. Its been a long time since she ate something like this and she couldn't help but smile a little. "It's delicious. I think this dessert is our trump card for winning this little competition!" she said softly, trying to hide the little envy she's feeling. She just can't believe that the dessert is better than the main dish. Her blue orbs then looked at Carl as he noticed the change in her behavior. "Oh, um.. I'm fine. We should um.. turn off the stove for now so the dish won't get overcooked. No one likes a dry stringy chicken. Haha" She then went to the stove and turned it off, hoping no one will notice her oddness.

Mei reminded Carl so much of one of his younger brothers, who was always putting himself down despite his amazing talents in the arts; it nearly broke Carl's heart watching the same thing unfold here. He gently lifted her chin to look her square in the eyes, wearing his most sincere smile. "Trust me," he said. "You were great. I enjoyed working with you." Suddenly he remembered his daily challenge, to make someone a meal. He hadn't told anyone about it yet; he wondered if it would count if Mei helped him out again. "In fact..." he added, lowering his voice a tad, "would you like to join me for dinner tonight?"

Mei was a bit startled by his actions and couldn't help but to crane her neck so hard just to look back at him. She didn't realize that the man in front of her was a giant! How can she not notice that?! Trying to focus on the conversation at hand, she blushed a little as she heard his words. Her? Great? Its not everyday Mei receives compliments from guys so it really is enough to make her flustered. As Carl lowered his voice and invited her for dinner, she could feel her heart exploding and the butterflies in her stomach whirling a tornado. Is he asking her for a date? Mei didn't know what to do. This will be the first time she'll be going out with someone and the first time someone asked her out. Blushing like crazy and looking down to hide her blush, she replied "S-Sure.. I w-w-w-wouldn't mind.."

Sieg was noticeably irritated at his asking her to dinner, and couldn't help but try and find a way to derail it. "Mei, I was actually going to ask if you wanted to do the same with me after this whole contest is done with. I was thinking I might be able to talk Cerena into giving us some alone time to take some more amazing photographs together." He crouched down to her level, figuring having her look up at the both of them might hurt her neck. "Think about it, imagine what beautiful memories we can make together." Taking a risk, he leaned forward and kissed her forehead before standing up straight once more. Since the three of them were apaprently the only ones devoted to the contest, he felt it might be a good idea to start the final preparations. After all, they must surely be running low on time now.

Mei didn't know what to do anymore: two men asking her out at the same time? Just what is happening? Blushing even more as Sieg told her about them taking photographs and making memories, she looked back and forth from Carl and Siegfried, not really sure what to do or what to say "W-Well, I.. uh--" She was then suddenly cut off as she felt warm, soft lips on her forehead, enough to make her dizzy and feel fuzzy. Blushing furiously and quickly backing away, she responded "Uh.. uh.. I think the chicken's clucking in the pot... so..uh..e-e-excuse me!" She quickly left the two gorgeous men and went to attend to the soup, trying to calm herself down. "J-Just what happened back t-there?"

Moving back to the stove, Sieg grabbed the kettle full of water and began letting his special tea steep in a lovely cast iron teapot, the sweet smell of jasmine and mint wafting through the air as the sachets were drenched in the boiling water. By the time it was time to serve, their secret weapon would be perfect, and then he could worry more about trying to woo Mei... All Carl could do was sputter in surprise, floundering to summon his usual intimidation factor back up, before Cerena called time.

GM SPECIAL EVENT
2urphew.jpg

One hour was a long time... Cerena found herself a little bit sleepy while waiting for each group to finish their dishes. The smell of cooked food overwhelmed her nose as she wrote her notes, totally distracting her from observing both groups. Her stomach growled slowly, demanding to be filled right now. Cerena rubbed her staving stomach with care, just like the candidates, Cerena only got bread and milk as breakfast. Honestly, that was not so fulfilling, so she was planning to complaint about this. How could she work properly if she didn't get enough energy from her breakfast.

When Cerena thought she was almost dozing off, she found something interesting in Group 2. A KISS?? Cerena gasped while her eyes was gleaming in enjoyment. It was only the second day and she already saw a kiss on forehead??? Cerena squirmed like a little girl and couldn't help herself walking toward the kissing scene. The girl, Mei, already left the two men. Cerena smiled to them and waving her hand, "Did I just see a kiss?" her smiled grew wider as she walked in circle and stopped right between the males, "Oh, you guys just made my day, I never expected this whole thing on second day."

She walked foward a bit and turned her body to Sieg and Carl, "I might not really listening what you guys talked about, but I assume that both of you have developed fond feeling toward Mei," Cerena didn't asking for approval from them, it was more like a statement, "So... to make things become more interesting, what if I offer the three of you extra points? Not much, just 10 extra points, but I believe even 10 points can help you a lot here."

Cerena cracked her knuckles and smirked, "Here is the offer, you still have like... 10 minutes before this game is over. Within 10 minutes, I want you to go to Irika's Super Treasure and buy something for Mei. Irika has flowers, doll, and chocolate. Just say this is an extra points offer from Cerena and Irika will give it for free. If Mei likes your gift, you will get your extra points. If she is not, yeah you will get nothing, but you will know what Mei dislikes for future references. While for Mei, she will get extra points for free I guess... Oh what a lucky girl. You can accept this offer or not, that's totally up to you~ I'll see you later! I will ask Mei about the result and DON'T CHEAT, don't ask what she likes. Surprise her!"

With that, Cerena waved her hand and back to her duty, again...

Siegfried couldn't help but chuckle at the idea. He was really starting to enjoy himself here, even if Cerena misunderstood his actions. In all honesty, he wasn't sure how he felt about Mei, he just couldn't enjoy himself when he felt like he'd been challenged. He had nothing against Carl, but he hated not being the center of attention with pretty women. Figuring he had plenty of time, he walked off to Irika's shop, looking around for something that could be a nice gift. After a few minutes of searching, he found a cute little doll he recognized, and snatched it up. "It's for a challenge!" He hollered over his shoulder at a flabbergasted Ireka as he ran out.

When he got back to the kitchen, he offered Mei the doll, bending down to look in her eyes. "This is Hsien Ko, a jiāngshī from a video game I love called Darkstalkers. Her mission, in life and death, is to hunt down demons and evil spirits." He smiled sweetly and pressed the doll into her hands. "Given your heritage, and the fact that you share a name with her beloved sister, Mei Ling, I thought she might bring you a bit of joy. Who knows, maybe she'll help bring you some good luck." He laughed a little bit and kissed her forehead once more to accentuate his sentiment before walking away. He carried the desserts out to the judges table, preparing for the event to end. Sieg offered a cupcake to Cerena while they waited. "Might be a good idea to eat dessert first; after all, you never know what could happen between now and the end of the meal."

Just as Carl thought he had a decent retort cooked up, Cerena stepped into the group's circle to make things all the more awkward. Feelings? No, that wasn't it, he just found Mei's cooking skills and take-charge attitude to be admirable...but that was it! Really! It was way too early for feelings to mean anything. Right? Right? And Siegfried. How dare he treat a lady like that, just so- so thickly and suddenly and probably just trying to one-up Carl himself. A woman should be held like an equal, not treated like some prize to be won through flashy moves and lies and...

Carl pursed his lips and gave a small sigh. This was all a bit too much for him. He would certainly have a few choice words for Siegfried later, but for now Cerena was saying something about extra points...points he could use to buy the ingredients for that dinner with Mei! Assuming Siegfried's showmanship hadn't just stomped all over his chances for an innocent shared meal. The daily challenge, that's what it had been about. Yes. That was all. Really.

His original goal back in mind, Carl watched Siegfried head off to the store. He knew he had no hopes of beating the much younger man there, nor had he any intentions of running as that would make him look desperate, so he waited until Siegfried was out of sight to start towards the shop and-- wait, what was he doing? Earning extra points was great and all, sure, and he wanted to grind Siegfried's ego into dust right then and there, but he hated the idea of letting Mei get caught in the crossfire. He was here in the first place because he'd driven too many people away; he had to be extra careful this time. And at least he had the advantage of age to cool his impulses. Unless Mei was uncomfortable with that too...hrm. What a catch 22 this was. N-N-Not that he was trying to win her affection! It was just the dinner! For the daily challenge! She was a nice girl! Argh!

At any rate he waited too long to beat Siegfried back and he could only watch as Siegfried continued to flaunt himself. Carl rolled his eyes. When Siegfried was finally done, Carl simply looked down at Mei, shrugged, and said, "Well, my offer still stands. I would love to treat you to dinner, just as...as f-friends." He had to force the word out a little, feeling awkward saying it for some reason. Yes, friends. Just a friendly shared dinner. Alone. With him being the cook. For points that he could use to treat her to further excursions. Friendly-like.

Mei was busy cleaning up her workbench and choosing the appropriate plate designs for the meal when she noticed the host, Cerena, was walking towards the two boys with a humongous smile on her face. Mei didn't know why, but her gut is telling her that something bad will happen. Just looking at the three talking like they're some part of a secret society sent shivers running down her spine. Just what are those three up to? She asked herself, looking at them curiously before going back to cleaning. She tried her best to shrug it off, but when she heard footsteps coming towards her, she knew that something was up.

"Oh, Siegfried.. Um.. Hi.." the Chinese girl greeted awkwardly, her sparkling blue eyes looking up at the man in front of her with a blush on her face, the memory of the kiss still fresh on her mind. She seriously can't understand why Siegfried kissed her and now that he's offering her a cute doll, she even got more confused. Just what is happening to this guy? Mei took the doll from him gingerly, their fingers touching for a moment before she blushed even deeper. She really is not used to interacting with men, especially in these kind of situations. She tried to calm herself down and took the doll from him gingerly, their fingers brushing lightly, but she greatly ignored it and forced her blush to go away. Pull yourself together, Mei! Stop being so awkward!!

"Uh.. Um, thanks" Mei said with a bit of a forced smile. Truth is, it's considered as bad luck for a living person to set eyes upon a jiangshi, whether its a doll or not. But Mei didn't want to look ungrateful and rude, so she took it, gently placing it on the kitchen counter. "I am not familiar with the video game, but thank you for the Um.. Marvelous gift. I really appreciate it, " she said, bowing a little, not expecting him to kiss her forehead once again.

If her face was like a rhubarb from before now its like beets from the deep blush spreading across her cheeks, making her look like she's having a very high fever. Good thing Siegfried left her alone to let her gather her thoughts, quickly running to the sink and washing her face to calm herself down. "Oh my Gods, please calm down, Mei. H-He's just really affectionate.. That's all. He's just being friendly.. Yeah.. S-Stop freaking out!!!"

Mei smacked her cheeks together and finally she calmed down, her beating heart slowly turning to normal until Carl walked up to her. Oh, how tall and intimidating he is, especially with his shrugging. Why is he acting so nonchalant? Did I do something wrong? Did I make him mad from running away? Oh my gosh, is he going to scold me? Burn me? Chop me up and put me in our stew? Maybe he'll-. She was suddenly pulled out of her thoughts when she realized that Carl is talking to her! Just what in the world did he say? Oh my gosh, I wasn't paying attention! Mei looked at him with panic hidden in her eyes. The only thing she remembered was the word "Friends". Perhaps he wanted to be my friend? Yeah, that must be it, she thought to herself before smiling, trying to play it cool "I would love to be friends with you!" replied before realizing that her answer is not enough. Thinking quickly and remembering his offer about dinner, she spoke up, "Oh, um.. Also, I would like to take your offer for dinner. It would be fun. Oh, wait.. What if Siegfried joins us as well? Oh, and Kyoko too! I think it would be fun to have them join us. What do you think?" she suddenly asked as the crazy idea popped into her head. "But of course, it's fine if you don't want to let them join. I mean, it was your offer so um.. It's really your choice.." As much as Mei wanted to tell him that she's not really comfortable eating alone with someone she barely knew, especially with a man, she knew she can't. She didn't want Carl to be mad at her or find her as a crybaby. She then bowed a little towards him and hid all her worries behind her sweet smile.

Mei's reaction had Carl feeling more than a little protective. Not only because Siegfried was constantly invading her space with those kisses, but also because she was back to being nervous and unsure of herself. She had been so confident in her abilities just a moment ago, when she was leading Carl around the kitchen, but now that all that was over it was like watching a beautiful flower close up for the night. He wanted to see that flower bloom again; it really was a lovely sight.

Though his offer for dinner was accepted, Mei quickly put a spin on things by bringing up the idea of inviting some of the others -- particularly Kyoko (hmm) and Siegfried (blegh). He was disappointed, of course, but he did his best to hide it. No sense in upsetting Mei when he didn't need to. But...Siegfried? "Ah...No, yes, that's- that's fine!" Carl found himself saying regardless. "We could celebrate our certain victory in the challenge. Yes." No! That was the opposite of what he wanted! But it was out now, and he couldn't take it back without sounding rude. Grr.

☆ LOCATION ⌋ Living Room
As soon as they were done gathering the necessary ingredients from the market, Ren and Jamie headed back in just in time to hear Cerena call out time. Another fifteen minutes was off the clock. Thirty minutes remained. They had to act fast if they were going to win this. The two joined the rest of the team back in the living room. Without a second to spare, Ren spoke up. "We need to act fast. Division of tasks." He gave Hana a quick glance before continuing with what he was saying. "I think Hana and I should work on the main dish considering we're the most experienced at cooking among our group." He then gave Avianna a quick glance before turning towards Jamie and grabbing the supplies that she was carrying from their little trip to the market. Although Ren's hands were quite full themselves, he still did so nonetheless and gave her no time to react as well. Right now he wasn't being polite, right now he was focused on winning. He then placed the bags on the nearest table and began to take out things and sorting them back into the bags according to the dish they're needed in. As he did so, Ren continued with what he was saying, "Avianna and Jamie, I think the two of you should work on dessert." Ren paused from his sorting to look at Edra. "Sorry bud. I heard you have a bit of a chocolate addiction. I'm not too sure you'll be able to control yourself and prevent yourself from eating the chocolate we'll be using." His words were a bit mean in his opinion, but again, he didn't really care at the moment. He was too focused on the game. "You can cook the garlic bread instead." Just as he said those words, he placed the last item he took out into its respective bag. Ren then looked at his teammates. "Any objections?"

Edra just laughed and slapped Ren's back jokingly, "Do I really look like a chocolate monster?" he crossed his arms and nodded, "But yeah... that chocolate won't stay safe if I made the dessert..." the black-haired man leaned his head to Ren and whispered, "I don't wanna be stuck between THOSE monsters either," though he didn't say who, his eyes were perfectly glued on the two girls, Avianna and Jamie. What kind of nightmare that Edra would face if Ren assigned him to do the dessert with them. Edra wouldn't able to survive the hell.

Ren's eyes widened marginally and briefly at the remark that Edra made regarding the two girls. He didn't explicitly say who he was talking about but his eyes said it all. The raven-haired managing director couldn't help but mull over the words. He could see why Edra would dislike Avianna but to go so far as calling her a monster? Ren could only suspect that something happened during their time alone at the marketplace earlier. Then there was Jamie. Ren didn't know a lot about the girl but from the time he's spent with her so far, he couldn't think of a reason why she would be regarded as a monster by someone. In the end, Ren decided not to comment on it. He'll find out later why Edra thought of the girls as such, right now they had a task to take care of as soon as possible.

He stretched his body and yawned, "Garlic bread is not too shabby, I bet I can make it well, just hope it doesn't ruin the whole dishes," Edra smirked, revealing his dull canine, before left the group to get ready making the garlic bread. The demon... who never made anything beside chocolate would challenge himself today by making garlic bread. He prayed to Satan, of course because he was a demon and God would just ruin his task, to help him making this unfamiliar food.

Jamie couldn't help but look at Edra flatly. It was a bold move to keep all whispery while staring her and Avianna down. She didn't know about Avianna but she definitely wasn't blind. And she sure as hell didn't like the ideas of being talked about behind (directly in front of) her back. Before any kind of stand off could take place, he had scurried off. Figures.

She then cast a glance of Avianna in thought, what exactly was Ren thinking pairing her up with that bitch? It hit her pretty quickly. He hadn't seen the stand off. With a sigh she cast her eyes back to Ren. "We'll take care of dessert, captain." She salutes half heartedly.

Seeing as there were no objections, Ren nodded for the umpteenth time that day. "Good" He then proceeded on handing the respective bags to the respective people assigned to them before grabbing the last one and joining Hana. "If there are any problems that may arise don't hesitate to ask another pair--or solo--for help." With those last words, he headed off into the kitchen with the bag of pasta primavera ingredients in hand.

Edra rested his head on his hand while browsing the internet, he never made garlic bread, how was he suppose to make it? His thumb slid the monitor several times, trying to find the easiest way to make garlic bread. Finally, he found the perfect one in no time. Putting his phone beside him, Edra began with step one.

The spiky male read the instruction carefully, his eyes twitched in odd manner as he tried to understand, "I'm glad that I was born as male..." He reached the oven and preheated it just like the instruction told him to do. While waiting, Edra put the garlic in food processor and mixed it too with parsley, oregano, salt and pepper and pulse twice, "Heh, I'm good, this is easy."

Edra took medium pan and heat the olive oil, adding the garlic mixture after that. The next step was quiet tricky, Edra was not good with slicing the bread. He ended up slicing it randomly, making the bread didn't look so... delicious. But like he would care. After spreading the butter and garlic mixture on the ugly bread, Edra wrapped the bread in aluminium foil and baked it. He needed to bake it for 5 minutes and opened the foil, then baked it for another 5 minutes.

Finally, Edra finished with his task. The internet said it would take about 20 minutes, but with Edra's 'agile' hand, the garlic bread was ready in 30 minutes. He smiled in satisfaction as he brought his masterpiece back to the group, "Here you go! Your delicious garlic bread is finally here!"

Avianna was not excited about working with Jamie The Man, but she wanted to win more than anything. She swallowed her pride and started getting the crepes prepared to be cooked. She hoped that Jamie didn't say one annoying word about or to her, she would play nice... but not for too long.

Jamie turned to Avianna with a pinched expression, opened her mouth to say something rude, then sighed and closed her mouth. "Alright, you don't like me. I sure as hell don't like you. ...But I think based on your personality it's safe to say the both of us don't like to not win. So here is the deal. I'll hold my tongue, you'll hold yours. You tell me what to do, because, and as much as I hate to admit this, your probably the better cook. So take the lead here."

Avianna had on a smug smirk, this man knew when to listen... smart. "Okay, let's win this." She wrote down on a piece of paper all of the things they would need to make the crepes. "1 Cup of Flour, 2 Eggs, 1/2 Cup of Milk..." And so on and so forth. It would be done in a few minutes, if her and Jamie could work together to get it done. "Now, let's start this."

Jamie nodded along making a mental note of each thing they needed, and the second she was done Jamie made quick work of gathering the needed utensils. Handing a bowl over to Avianna, followed by the ingredients. Letting her add them and whisk while she grabbed everything for the blonde. She figured biting her lip and working in silence was best. The stupid smirk had her wanting to throttle the woman already. Which wasn't good with the bunch of blunt objects around.

It wasn't long until Avianna was prissily telling Jamie to oil and heat up a frying pan while she continued to whisk the batter. Not wanting to create waves Jamie moved into action a few seconds latter she turned back to Avianna and nodded to the pan, "It's ready when you are." She then moved out of the way to grab a plate for Avianna to transfer them to when she finished.

She glanced at the clock to make sure they had timed everything ok, from what she understood these things had to be served hot. Not that she really cared, she wouldn't say it out loud but she planned on skipping both teams desserts. She didn't hate sweets...she just wasn't big on them.

After making sure that everything was cooked to perfection, Avianna placed the crepes on the plates. "I hate to say it... but we do make a great team." She almost hurled at the words that just came out her mouth. "Anyway... let's just win this game, I know our team kicked the other team's asses." Avianna brought the plates over to where the judges or crew would taste the food. If they didn't win, she might actually loose her mind.

The first thing that he did upon arriving at the kitchen area was settle in by taking out the supplies from the bag he had and placing them onto the table. Ren took a deep breath before turning towards Hana. "Right, so... I trust that you're familiar with the steps we need to take in order to make this, right?" He wasn't asking because he didn't know, he was asking to know whether or not he'll have to instruct and guide Hana as they went along or not. Ren was familiar with the recipe, he's cooked it a few times in the past when his mother had been craving for pasta--those were the days when Ren was actually worried that she might've been pregnant with his younger sibling. But then Ren learned that his mother just had strange cravings every now and then which didn't at all equate to a younger sibling which quite honestly, disappointed the half-Brit just a tiny bit. Perhaps if he had a younger sibling he wouldn't be as much of a workaholic as he was now. In any case, right now it didn't matter. Ren shook himself off his train of thought and went back to focusing on the task at hand.

Hana nodded with a smile to Ren as spoke up in a soft manner. "Sure am , I've made this too many times to count. I'll get to making the pasta and chopping up the rest of the veggies if that is good by you." Her eye's locked to his for a brief moment. She was glad to be paired with someone whom also seemed to have a passion and love for cooking himself. Her smile remained tinted to her lips as she pulled out a large box of long spaghetti from spot on the counter as she placed it near the stove. At that she dipped down as she opened up the cabinet to withdraw the decently sized pasta pot. In that moment she crossed over to the sink as she placed the pot within as she turned the cold water on to begin to fill it.

"Alright. I'll help you out with the vegetables. There are quite a lot to chop." Ren responded. He started working on the vegetables the moment he saw Hana begin to work on what she had set out to do. Quite frankly, Ren was pleased that Hana knew the recipe off-hand. It saved time as he no longer had to explain it or let her read the recipe off his phone. Pasta primavera was a relatively easy dish in his opinion. Just took a lot of work to prepare thanks to the multitude of vegetables that required chopping before they are used in the recipe. Ren wasn't kidding when he said that there were a lot, there really were just that: a lot.

Her eyes flitted across the room as she looked to the other's set to work at prepping everything else at hand. They all seemed to be working well as a team as some could tell certain people were holding in what they were truly thinking with another. She stifled a small chuckle at the sight of Avianna and Jamie working together as she finished filling the pot at last. With that she grasped it as she carried it over to the stovetop as she placed it atop of it as she turned the burner onto high as she placed the lid atop and set to helping Ren with the chopping. Hana turned with quick ease on the heel of her foot as she began to chop the varying pepper's as she awaited the water to boil.

It didn't take long for the water that Hana set in a pot on the stove to come to a boil. Ren had just cutting the squashes into thin strips when he noticed this. He looked at Hana who was midway done chopping the pepper she had on her chopping board. Deciding that it'd be faster to do it himself rather than interupt the blonde from her task, but before he did so, Ren decided it'd best to inform Hana of what he was doing. And so he spoke, "The water's boiling now. Don't worry about pausing from what you're doing. I'll put the pasta in." Just as the final words left his lips, Ren dumped in the pasta to be cooked which Hana had conveniently placed by the stove. After doing so, he resumed with his task of cutting vegetables. So far he's only finished the squash and onions. With Hana taking care of the peppers, there were still the carrots and zucchini left to be done and so he immediately proceeded to chopping them into thin strips not wanting an any second to be wasted.

Cutting vegetables wasn't a difficult task, Ren just found it to be quite tedious. Regardless, it didn't take him long to finish cutting the zuchinnis and carrots. After making the final slice to the carrot he was cutting, Ren turned to Hana and was pleased that she had finished the peppers just as he finished with his carrot... or perhaps she finished earlier than him? Ren wasn't entire too sure. He was too focused on his task to have noticed. "Right. Time to dump half of these in the oven to bake." he said as he scooped up half from each chopped vegetable pile that was on their work station and placed them on a baking tray that he took out. He then dumped the said tray into the oven and set the timer for ten minutes marking the time when they needed to be stirred.

After a few minutes (approximately 25, as estimated by Ren) later, the dish was finally finished. Ren glanced at the rest of his teammates to see if they had finished with their respective dishes as well. Thankfully he found that they did. The half-Brit grabbed his phone out of his pocket to check time--a habit he had even though he knew perfectly well that there was a clock in the room. Upon checking, the minute digit in the clock turned to zero and the hour digit incremented by one marking the end of the hour given to them for the game. Time was up. Ren breathed out a sigh of relief. "We made it in time."

Cerena smiled at Sieg and took a small bite, the cupcake tasted delicious. Cerena put it back on the table and crossed her legs while her eyes still maintaining its place on Sieg, "Thank you, Sieg, you know how to treat women, though it might deliver wrong signal," she laughed. Even though she was busy taking notes, Cerena observed what the blue-haired man did before, the doll and another kiss. Seeing how Mei took the doll with whatever reason, Cerena took notes that both Sieg and Mei got their extra points, while Carl... she didn't see him go outside nor bringing doll with him, so Cerena crossed his name from extra points list.

MONDAY, The Living Room, 10 A.M.
"JUDGING TIME"

Cerena phone rang exactly when the clock showed it was already 10 in the morning. The mermaid pulled out a pink whistle and blew it hard to make sure everyone stopped at the exact time together. Also, the shrilly whistle seemed to save awkward situation between Mei and Carl. Her hawk eyes had been eyeing those two since they started talking after the extra points offer and seeing from their gestures, Cerena sensed awkwardness between them. It was maybe because of her offer? Cerena smiled vaguely as she realized that maybe she had started dramas in this reality show.

Both of groups had perfectly prepared their dishes, so tempting and delicious. The tester crew already prepared with their spoon, ready to experience the thrilling of these heavenly lunches. Though look might deceived the eyes, they did hope that the taste would be as pleasant as its presentation. Cerena cleared her throat and stood between the groups, leaving small distance in front of them so she could see their worried faces clearly, "The time finally come, your lunches will be judged by these fine gentlemen. Some of them are experts in food, some are just ordinary men, like you. They will rate your food from 1 to 10 with 1 as suck and 10 as heaven. Group with most points will hold victory right in their palm. I hope you all stay fair and say nothing when they taste your food. Give them silence, give them peace, let them savor every bite they took. I believe I make myself crystal clear, so gentlemen... Please step forward and do your job."

With that, 10 testers walked closer to the tables. Taking turn to taste the food with their silver spoon. Their faces showed a lot of expressions, from bad to good, from suffering to savoring. No one could tell what exactly on their mind and how much points would they give for both groups. The air began to tense as each of them started to write the rating and put it into two small boxes with group label glued on top of it.

1... 2... 3.............. 10. The last person finally put his rating into the boxes, bowing and throwing a smile to each group before he joined the rest of the testers. No words slipped out anyone's lips just like Cerena said. The sound of heartbeat seemed close, while the music of breathes rhymed utterly with the wind. The host felt satisfied with everything and broke the silence with her musical voice, "Alright, the judges had written and now I shall read the points, prepare yourself and... you might want to chant some prayers to make you win."

Cerena walked toward the boxes, opening its lid and pulled out one paper from each boxes, "Now... I will announce each points you get...."

GROUP 1 : 3 5 4 9 1 7 7 4 8 4 : 52

GROUP 2 : 3 9 4 7 8 1 5 4 2 2 : 45

DICE ROLLING

Cerena clapped her hands loudly, followed by another claps from the crews. She smiled brightly, "With only 7 points differences, Group 1 succeed to achieve victory! Congratulations for Group 1 with Ren, Edra, Avianna, Jamie, and Hana as its member! You guys just got your very first point from group game! Congratulations once again! For Group 2, you have done your best and your lunch is great as well, never give up and I believe you can win next time!" The host took her notes and talked again, "Since we have done with first group game, I will announce your points until now.... Accumulated from this game, daily task, and extra points."

Siegrfried smiled and laughed a little bit. "Maybe, but I'd rather be myself and risk getting misunderstood than reign in my behavior and feel like I'm being something else. The man or woman I'm destined to be with will have to handle this kind of behavior anyway, so might as well let them know now, you know?" He took a cupcake and ate it with her. "Besides, the players are gonna see the way I am eventually, so why not now?" He stayed quiet, enjoying the few minutes of peace while the timer counted down.

After the Judging

Siegfried growled in displeasure at the ruling. "I knew I should've played dirty..." he said softly, his voice practically dripping with venom. He walked up to Cerena and put up a fake smile. "My stomach's still a little uneasy from breakfast, so I'm gonna skip lunch. While everyone is preoccupied, I'm going to go do my chore." With that, he walked off and found the supply closet. He pulled out everything he'd need to clean the bathroom and slunk off. He slapped an "OCCUPIED" sign on the door so no one would interrupt him and got to work.

First thing first, he consolidated and organized any errant beauty products, packing them away in the cabinets. With the counter clean, it was short work to get it spotless once more. After that, it was little work to do the sinks and mirrors. After just a few minutes, he was already half done. He was always quick and efficient cleaning, thanks to his job, but he didn't exactly enjoy it. Still, the faster he got it done, the faster he could enjoy himself. As he was scrubbing the soap scum out of the shower, he was thinking over the contest, and more specifically the points. He hadn't heard yet what they were for, other than to keep you in the game. He made a mental note to bring that up with Cerena when he was done.

After about 20 minutes of intense cleaning, he was finishing up mopping the floor. "I really need to find a way around this for next time." When he was done, he put away the cleaning supplies and went back to the dorm. As he went digging through his bag, he found a small, wrapped box with a card. As he opened the card, he found James', his partner's husband, swirling script inside. For when you're wanting to take the easy way out... The card read and he couldn't help but smile when he saw what was inside.

James was an enchanter, and Siegfried had been working to perfect a new helper for the disabled, a mix of his semi-intelligent dragontail vines and James' Mandragora dolls. He couldn't help but laugh when he saw that he'd sent him a trio of the dolls and the seeds, along with their fertilizer. He walked out, presents in hand, and walked by the others. "Finished with the bathroom, Ms. Cerena." He said offhandedly as he passed the host and found a small bit fertile soil near the edge of the property. As he began to dig into the dirt with his hands - a guilty pleasure of his, he loved the feel of the earth between his fingers - he began the chant for the dolls.

"namo bhagavate bhaiṣajyaguru vaiḍūryaprabharājāyatathāgatāya arahate samyaksambuddhāya tadyathā:oṃ bhaiṣajye bhaiṣajye bhaiṣajya-samudgate svāhā."

As he finished the last word of the chant, the dolls glowed with a deep green energy. He sprinkled the fertilizer over the soft soil and smiled as he placed the dolls into the dirt. By morning, the dolls would be wrapped in the dragontail vines and ready to do his bidding.
