He smiled and put out is arm "medamme, I would like to escort you to dinner for two."

"Oh." she said as she tucked her hands in his arms. She blushed the whole time.

They walked to his car, he politely opened the door for her to get in.
Vince knew how to be a gentleman even though it was completely new to him that someone agreed to go out with him after his last heartbreak.

He got in and started driving.
"What do you want to eat?"

She got into the car. He was a complete gentleman. He asked her where she wanted to eat. "Surprise me." she answered with a smile.

He smiled and nodded "le surprise it is then."
He drove down to a fancy italian place, got out.
Walked to the other side of the car and opened the door for her.

She got out of the car and followed him. "This place is nice. Do you come here often?" she asked shyly.

He shook his head with a smile "me? Nahh, I was waiting for a special moment to come here." He opened the door of the restaurant and as they got to the table he pulled her chair out for her.

She blushed at that. "Thank you" she murmured as he helped her sit. "So is there a special moment?" she asked innocently.

He smiled and sat down "yes, there is." The waiter came to ask what they would like to drink, Vince smiled "I'd like some orange juice, please, and the lady will have.." He looked at Maria, waiting for her answer.

"Sauvignon Blanc, please." she said smiling. "so what is that special moment if I may be so bold to ask?" she said propping her chin on her hands.

Vince looked into her eyes and smiled "a beautiful young lady agreed to have dinner with me."

"Oh." she blushed as he said it. "R-really?" she said.

"I'm just, uh, not used to it. And we just met, you know." she said as she browsed the menu trying to avoid his stare.

Vince wasn't the type of guy that would say things if he didn't feel or mean it.
To him she was extraordinary beautiful.
"I know we have, and I know you like that guy from the shop.. But I'd love to get to know you."
He looked at the menu, then sat back.

"Who? What guy?" she said. She blushed again. "I don't know what to say..." she trailed off.
She tried to concentrate on looking at the menu but it's no use. She peeked at him and glanced away quickly. "Why would you want to know me?" she said in a low voice.

Why is he trying to be all gentleman to her? Is he playing a prank on her? She hopes not because she doesn't think she'll survive another hurt again. Maybe he's just being nice, she reasoned to herself.

"The one from the yoghurt shop? I.. I thought you knew him.. Sorry if I was mistaking." Vince smiled and looked at her "why wouldn't I want to know you? I don't see any harm in being here together. We're having a nice meal, and a chat. See, I'm quite lonely, as much as I don't like to admit that. And it's a miracle that you agreed to have dinner with me. I really enjoy your company." He looked away for a second "but of course, no pressure. I won't force you to do anything."

"I know how it is to be lonely but sometimes it's better that way." she said quietly. "Oh. That guy. He was the cashier and I forgot the yogurt. Nothing else." she explained.

He looked at her "oh no.. It's never good to be lonely, neither is it a better way. Human interaction on a romantic level is required throughout life.."

"I'm not sure that's true. I'm sorry but I don't believe in that." she smiled sadly. "I once believed in that but I got hurt so I stopped believing. That sounds rather pessimist." she said laughing softly.
