[Liz is a young and hard working woman at Allen's Bar, weathering out the storm with a bit of hard work] -02:58 Feb 04

[Hinata is a young man with red hair who has come to Allen's Bar to get a drink, a bite to eat, and stay informed of what is going on. Because he certainly doesn't want to be home alone with his parents out of town and a serial killer on the loose.] -03:00 Feb 04
[Marcus Knott enters the bar. Trying not to make a scene, he just sits.] -03:01 Feb 04

Allen's bar is rather empty tonight, most people have been afraid of the serial killer on the loose. Those brave enough, or even stupid enough are gathered about, the lights are slightly dim, giving a bit of ambiance and the street out front is empty save for a handful of cars, some belonging to undercover cops -Liz
Liz: Liz smiles at the man entering but quickly works her way to the young man with red hair sitting down first. "Hi there, can I get you anything tonight?" She smiles warmly, the TVs behind her display the news. A reporter is out on the streets talking about the killer. -03:03 Feb 04
[Marcus Knott opens a sketchbook, upon returning the smile.] -03:04 Feb 04
Hinata: Hinata gives her a smile and pulls out his ID. "Sure, I'd like a beer please. " The college student looks around at the bar for a minute, wondering about his own intelligence of coming to a bar while a serial killer is on the loose, he looked up at the news. -03:08 Feb 04
[Liz Liz smiled and scooted off down the bar to grab a beer after carefully checking Hinata's ID. On the other side of the bar another customer enters, plopping down on the seat nearest the door and resting his head into his arms.] -03:10 Feb 04
Hinata: It wasn't his fault he still looked like a teenager. Good genetics, he supposed. He quietly said thank you for the beer with another smile before focusing on the news. Not that they had anything interesting to say, just the same old same old... Useless idiots. -03:11 Feb 04
[Marcus Knott quickly takes a gander around the bar. Signing, he started an a thumbnail for an upcoming project. ] -03:12 Feb 04
Liz: Liz returned with a beer for Hinata, setting it down in front of him before heading over to Marcus, placing a coaster down on the bar in front of him to get his attention. "Can I get you anything?" She asked, an eyebrow raising, was he even old enough to be in here? -03:13 Feb 04
[Hailey enters.] -03:15 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: "Yes, ma'am." he muttered, in an Irish accent. "A water, please?" -03:15 Feb 04
Hailey: Despite the recent rash of murders, nothing was going to stop Hailey from relaxing like she wanted and the bar was her favorite place to unwind. With an optimistic outlook, she pulled open the door and strode inside. Right off the bat, she recognized a few faces. -03:17 Feb 04
Liz: She nodded, grabbing a cup from underneath the bar and began to fill it with one hand while the other turned the TV up a little to let all of the others listen to the report. -03:17 Feb 04
Hinata: The hated the news. They weren't even helping, in fact as far as he was concerned they were making it worse. Naming out the bars that hadn't been hit? What idiots, it was like giving the serial killer a shopping list! He took a swallow of his beer, watching the waitress and the other man. -03:17 Feb 04
[Korben lights a cigarette as he sits in his car, outside the bar] -03:17 Feb 04
[earl entered the bar from the side exit, and slid into a booth in the back corner, in the darker part of the room.] -03:18 Feb 04
Hailey: "Hey, Liz! How's business?" Hailey chirped pleasantly, holding out her ID for Liz to check while deciding what she wanted to drink. -03:18 Feb 04
The reporter seemed a bit preturbed over his report. "Things are certainly grim as new information has come to light in the recent rash of serial murders. It appears that most bodies have been dismembered..." -Liz
Marcus Knott: "Thank you." Marcus did not even lift his head to look at anyone. His attention stayed on his new work. -03:19 Feb 04
Hailey: With the news going, Hailey frowned and narrowed her eyes at the reporter, though she couldn't see his face from where she was standing. "Morbid! Someone should turn that thing off! Totally ruining the mojo..." -03:19 Feb 04
Liz: Liz smiled at Hailey and waved her in, how strange that so many people would be out with a serial killer on the loose like this. "Hi Hailey, come sit, I'll be with you soon." She nodded heading towards the man with his head cradled in his arms. -03:19 Feb 04
Hailey: Flicking her attention back to Liz, Hailey smiled broadly. Something fruity and pretty to start with, so that the beer didn't taste so bad. That was her decision. What to choose, though, what to choose... "When you get to it, Liz, I'd like an appletini if you would!" her voice was infused with every ounce of sweetness she could muster. -03:22 Feb 04
As Liz approached the man, he reared up and latched onto the nearest patron, a regular most likely and sank his teeth deep into the patron's neck, ripping free a bit of flesh and letting blood splatter over his face. -Liz
Hailey: With her focus on Liz, Hailey was completely focused when she approached the male patron and... he suddenly attacked another one. She couldn't see the details, but her eyes widened and she hopped off of her bar stool. "Whoa, dude, what the hell?" Hailey was nervous, backing as far from him as possible. Had he just... bit the guy? -03:24 Feb 04
Korben: "Got a lot of traffic here," Korben said into his radio as he watched the front of the bar. It was cold tonight and his breath was misting. His jeans and leather jacket did little to help. Going undercover meant freezing your ass off just like everyone else, it seemed. -03:26 Feb 04
Hinata: Hinata had been minding his own business, seething at the tv quietly as he sipped his drink. There was a scream and then talking, he turned around on the bar stool to see what was happening. "Holy fuck..." He shuddered, looking at the man dripping blood and the other man... who had just taken a chunk out of him. "Hey!" He was off his seat in a flash, pushing the biter back away from the victem. -03:26 Feb 04
Hailey: "L-Liz, get away from him" Hailey stumbled over her words at about the same time she stumbled over a chair. Her eyes were still trained on the man who'd just attacked. "You too, guy! That can't be safe... don't wrestle with the psycho!" -03:27 Feb 04
Liz: Liz screamed as the patron dropped to the floor, and the other man flailed about as he was caught by Hinata. "Everyone, get away from him!" Liz cried as the man in Hinata's arms gnashed at the air and tried to claw at the air. -03:28 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: Marcus dropped his notebook, at the sound of a scream. Stepping back, he held his pen as a improvised weapon. Why has this town gone so downhill? -03:29 Feb 04
Outside the bar the sounds of groaning could be heard, a few more people staggering out of a dark alleyway towards the sounds of screaming and cars parked outside. They could smell it in the air, the sweet-irony smell of blood, it drove them towards their new victims. -Liz
Hailey: Finally reaching the wall of the bar, Hailey groped for what she knew was settled snugly in a nook of the wall. Her hands wrapped around the fire extinguisher. She didn't have a much better plan than that, but fortunately, Liz seemed to have picked up and was moving away from the freak as well. That just left the guy... "Move!" She was approaching again, fire extinguisher brandished in front of her. -03:30 Feb 04
Korben: "Ah fuck!" Korben grabbed his radio as the scream sounded from inside the bar. "Lawrence, watch the street! Abrams, cover me! I'm going in." He opened the door a clutter of coffee cups and food wrappers tumbled out into the street. Stumbling over them, the police officer hurried across the street, drawing his sidearm from the back of his jeans. -03:32 Feb 04
Breaking free of Hinata's grasp the assailant fell atop of the wounded patron and continued to feast upon his meal. The others in the street shambled towards the windows, clawing at the horrified patrons inside, almost watching them like fish in a tank. Some stumbled through the doorway after the officer, crawling on the floor towards the humans. -Liz
earl: as earl had sat down, gotten comfortable, and lit a cig. there was a loud kerfuffle at the front of the bar. sitting back a little further, so as to not be seen and continue to go unnoticed he continues to smoke his malbrolo menthol smooths 100's. -03:34 Feb 04
Liz: Liz shrank back towards one end of the bar and grabbed a bottle of vodka off the shelf and held it out defensively. "Wh--what is this!?" -03:34 Feb 04
Hailey: With the psycho out of the regular patron's grasp, Hailey was free to move forward with her fire extinguisher. She sprayed it at the assailant, but it seemed to do little good. "Wha... What are you doing?" -03:35 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: He was scared beyond belief. Thankfully he was not near a window. Everything start to slow, like he was having a panic attack. He left Ireland for this crap? -03:36 Feb 04
Korben: "Oh hey Abrams, glad you could- WOAH FUCK!" Korben realised that it was not his partner following him through the door of the bar. Spinning, the officer fell as construction worker collapsed on top him, clawing and snarling. "HEY! POLICE! BACK THE FUCK OFF!" -03:36 Feb 04
earl: finaly unable to ignore the loud screams and shreeks of terror, earl stands, stomps out his cig., pulls a 38 revover with 8 chambers out and shot the man atacking the cop. -03:38 Feb 04
Liz: Liz didn't think twice, a police officer was in trouble and for the time being Hailey was managing the first psycho just fine on her own. As she clambered over the bar two gunshots rang out from the back of the bar, hitting the construction worker in the shoulder, but not slowing him down. -03:39 Feb 04
Korben: "SHOOTER!" As the man on top of him bucked with the impact of being shot, Korben rolled out from under him and further into the bar. He ended up on his stomach, pistol held out in front of him, levelled at Earl. "DROP IT!" -03:39 Feb 04
Korben: Then the construction worker grabbed his ankle. "WHAT THE FUCK?!" -03:40 Feb 04
Hailey: With the foamy spritz of the fire extinguisher doing little good, Hailey decided to switch tactics. With all her might (and a loud mmph) she smacked the assailant on the head with the body of the fire extinguisher. -03:40 Feb 04
Liz: Liz was quick to react, smacking the construction worker's arm with the bottle of vodka shattering it. A loud groan espcaped the construction worker and he released the officer's ankle but only to start crawling after her! -03:41 Feb 04
earl: just as korben sits up to aim at earl, to try to grab hold of the situation he is bit and half of his ankle is riped off. earl then pulls the trigger once more and hit the worker dead in the face with only six feet between him and the gun. -03:41 Feb 04
As the patrons of the bar were busy dealing with the two monsters inside the bar, a few more of the creatures had surrounded Abrams outside, closing in on the officer. -Liz
Hailey: When the target of Hailey's less than graceful attacking still moving and groaning, Hailey panicked and her movements became frenzied and increasingly brutal. Soon, the damage of the fire extinguisher was beginning to show. She was not so slowly pounding in the skull of the assailant. -03:43 Feb 04
Korben: "MOTHER FUCKER!" Korben yelled as the construction worker ripped away his ankle holster and backup pistol, the rip of velcro like tearing flesh. -03:43 Feb 04
Liz: Liz shrieked as the back of the officer's pants were torn free and she brought the jagged edge of her vodka bottle on the creature's neck, just below the hard hat. The creature let out another groan and spit a bit of blood on the ground before flopping over, releasing Korben. -03:43 Feb 04
earl: taking time to reload, as he stomped on the creatures remaining head, earl turns to deal with the second "thing"... then suddenly gets hit in the face by a flailing fire extinguisher. -03:44 Feb 04
With both creatures dispatched for the time being Liz quickly made sure to lock the door and place a stool underneath it, hoping to block anyone else from coming in. The creatures at the windows were now pounding harder, it wouldn't be long before they broke the glass and made it inside! -Liz
Hailey: Feeling a little murderous and guilty, Hailey kept her gory fire extinguisher clutched in her hands but the adrenaline was beginning to wear off. Her wide, distrustful eyes scanned the bar but she tried hard not to look at the pulpy mess she'd made of the first assailant's head. "Ahhh... so... those weren't human. Right?" -03:47 Feb 04
Korben: There was crackling on the radio... the panicked voices of Lawrence and Abrams... intercut with snarls and shattering glass. Korben lifted the radio as he pulled himself up. "Report! Anyone? What the fu..." He turned to face the street then recoiled at the wall of people pressed against the doors and winters. "Holy shit..." -03:48 Feb 04
earl: holding head, leaking from extinguisher, earl sits up dazed. sooo... who else has a gun? cuz im gonna be low on ammo in a lil bit. -03:48 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: Seeing the Stephen King schuffle, Marcus finally snaps out of it. These people were in need of some help. Crazies were all around, beating on windows. "Is everyone alright?" he asked with an Irish voice crack. -03:49 Feb 04
Liz: There was no time to waste, they were in trouble and they needed to get out of there. "The staff lounge on the second floor had a balcony leading to the building next door, if we can get up there we can at least get some breathing room." Liz was visibly shaken but trying to keep her calm. She started fishing for the keys to the upstairs in her uniform. -03:50 Feb 04
earl: "just gotta ask, if they were over here, dont you think they would be there as well? i think we should make baracades here and ride this through." -03:52 Feb 04
Hailey: Jittery and liable to jump at the smallest sound with the effects of her frenzy still coursing through her system, Hailey darted toward the stairs while Liz was still fishing for her keys. "C'mon c'mon they're gonna kill ussss. C'mon c'mon, I don't want to die... Anyone know if they can climb?" -03:52 Feb 04
Korben: His radio had been damaged when he fell. The casing was rattling and the aerial bent. He shook it as he paced in front of the window. "Korben to Central. We've got a riot on Holland Avenue. People are going crazy down here... hello...come in!" He shook the radio again and glared once more at the windows. His other hand flashed his badge at the crowd. "POLICE! YOU WILL DISPERSE IMMEDIATELY!" -03:53 Feb 04
Hailey: "Ahhh, why is the cop still outside? What if it's dangerous out there? He might come in handy. But everyone knows, right, that these are human? I didn't kill anyone. Just so you know. But. Maybe we should drag the cop in here? With us?" -03:55 Feb 04
earl: just as he goes to follow hailey, a zombie jumps through a window and pulls him back outside where he is brutally eaten. -03:55 Feb 04
[earl logged out of the chat.] -((03:56 Feb 04))
Hailey: "Erm, slip. They're not human. I didn't kill anyone!" Hailey was more than a bit freaked out, her eyes still suspiciously flickering over everyone and all the dark corners of the bar. She'd just wanted to have fun.. -03:56 Feb 04
Liz: The jingling of the keys in her hands comforted her as she raced up the stairs, completely ignoring police. Her adrenaline was all she had right now, as she flailed at the keyhole wildly with the key. "EVERYONE GET UP HERE!" She cried as she heard the glass shatter downstairs, just out of her view. -03:56 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: Marcus thought to offer some advice to the nice policeman. "Sir! If they didn't run away from the gunshot...never mind, just get up here!" Slapping the man's shoulder, he followed the waitress. -03:58 Feb 04
[Hinata has timed out.] -03:59 Feb 04
The creatures used the open window as a big homing beacon to the buffet of frightened patrons inside, more scrabbled over the windowsill, ignoring the shards of glass plunging into their decaying flesh, their sole motivation to get at the screaming meat -Liz
Hailey: As soon as Liz was ready to go upstairs, Hailey was right on her heels without so much as a glance backward to the sound of shattering glass. She might not be remembered as a hero, but she might not have to be just a memory if she survived this. "What is the other building, Liz? Somewhere with more weapons?" -04:00 Feb 04
Korben: "OH FUCK ME!" Corben watched as Earl was hauled through the window into the dozen flailing arms of the crowd. Blood sprayed and screams resounded. These people were crazed... high on PCP or steroids... possessed by murder incarnate. He scooped up his pistol and ran after the others, clutching his radio to his mouth. "Central, if you can hear this, we need everyone at Allen's Bar. AND I MEAN EVERYONE!" -04:00 Feb 04
Liz: The door swung open and Liz practically lunged inside the small yet cozy looking staff lounge the screams of Hinata met her ears as she waved wildly for everyone to get inside. "I don't know Hailey but if we stick around here we won't find out now GET IN HERE!" Liz cried out of fear. -04:03 Feb 04
Hailey: "G-guys? Are you coming? It's totally not safe here. The windows are broken and everything. I agree with Liz, we should definitely get a move on! Nothing to gain by sticking around a place not meant to hold as a fortress... especially if it's broken already..." -04:06 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: Marcus checked his newly acquired weapon. "Damn." He whispered as he entered the room. Screams, grunts, and blood, oh my. In a sick way, the carnage made him...energized. -04:07 Feb 04
Hailey: Hailey rushed into the room after Marcus, her gaze lingering on the stairs after her little warning for just a moment. She had no intention of seeing what was happening to the other patron to draw that pained scream from him. -04:08 Feb 04
Korben: The crowd of killers had reached the bottom of the stairs. At the top, Korben was waving his badge and gun. "YOU'RE ALL UNDER ARREST! UNDER THE PUBLIC DISORDER ACT OF NINETEEN.. SHIT!" He turned and ran as the horde came rampaging up the stairs. "Wait! WAIIIIT!" -04:09 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: Marcus grabbed Korben, pulling into the room. "Shut the door!" -04:10 Feb 04
Liz: The door would slam as soon as Korben crossed into the room and Liz quickly locked it and tucked the key back into her pocket. "Okay, that should hold them off for...however long. We need to get going...now would be better..." -04:11 Feb 04
Hailey: Hailey didn't need more urging than that from Liz. She was not in the mood to be dinner for any baddies today. She ran out onto the balcony, glancing across the narrow walkway to the other building. "Hopefully that door isn't locked. And if it is, I vote one of the guys break it down." -04:13 Feb 04
Allen's Bar was as busy as anyone had ever seen it. People filled to the brim, all groaning and crying out for the warm flesh just a floor above them. Elsewhere in the city more and more of the creatures overtook buildings, fires broke out and the screams of the dying called out in unison. The police had their hands full, the ones still alive that is. -Liz
Korben: Korben had landed on a staff couch, a few feet from the doorway. He rolled over, making muffled groans as the cushions suffocated him. Then he fell off, his radio in pieces, his gun and badge clutched in his hands. "ALRIGHT, NOBODY MOVE! POLICE!!" He got up quickly, tipping over a rubber plant and knocking a painting from the wall. -04:14 Feb 04
Liz: Liz stumbled back from Korben as he popped up and shot a pleading glance at Hailey out on the balcony before staring down the barrel of Korben's gun. -04:16 Feb 04
Hailey: "Who are you trying to wave your badge at?" Hailey asked the cop in confusion, turning to where he was stumbling in the room. If he really expected everyone to just sit still while he wrapped his head around everything... he was awfully silly. His badge wasn't worth so much right now, since the only people listening were more on his side than anything. -04:17 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: "Sir, at this point, it is better if we ALL get the fuck outta here." He declared. Marcus starting to think that this cop was in denial. -04:18 Feb 04
Korben: "Westfield PD, Maam," Korben said with a smile. "Everything's under control." He turned and looked at the others as he pocketed his badge. "Now..." He jumped up and down on the spot. "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON???" -04:20 Feb 04
Hailey: Hailey rolled her eyes at the cop, who seemed pretty satisfied now that people were paying attention to him. "We're being attacked. We're fleeing from said attack. You're not doing an exemplary job." She motioned with her hand back toward the balcony, trying to get them to head in her direction. Who knew how long that wooden door would hold? -04:21 Feb 04
Korben's que/gm The creatures had made it up the stairs and were busy pounding on the door to the room they had stopped to catch their breath in. If they didn't move fast it would be a repeat of the events downstairs. -Liz
Liz: Liz took the pounding at the door as her cue to get the hell out of there. She grabbed Hailey's wrist and began to tug the other woman along behind her and threw her shoulder against the door to the building next door, only to bounce back against the railing, rejected by her attempt to break the door in. -04:24 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: In an attempt to be proactive, Marcus uses his strong legs to push the couch in front of the pounded door. -04:24 Feb 04
Hailey: Lifting her fire extinguisher once more, Hailey glared at the door as though the action might soften it up for an attack. The men did not seem keen on helping to bust the door down, so she steadied herself against the railing to deliver a kick. It didn't work. Maybe if she and Liz worked together? -04:25 Feb 04
Korben: Korben glared at the buckling door of the staff lounge. "YOU WILL ALL BE PROSECUTED FOR THIS!" Then he stumbled out of the way as Marcus pushed a couch towards him and swung it against the door. -04:26 Feb 04
Hailey: "Liz, we should like... ram the door together. On three or something. You want to count? The boys seem busy with the other door." Hailey grimaced at the thought of putting her fire extinguisher down and instead clutched it to her. She would ram the door with her shoulder. -04:27 Feb 04
Liz: She nodded to Hailey and on the count of three the two of them kicked hard and the door buckled for a moment but didn't fully give way...just yet. "One more try..." -04:28 Feb 04
Hailey: "We should... slam, with our shoulders. Use all of our body weight and strength and all that, maybe. One, two... three!" Hailey and Liz attacked the door together and at last, the door seemed to give. -04:30 Feb 04
Almost in tandem the door fell away from the girls' assault as the door to the bar proper cracked and fell apart from the creature's attacks, their arms shooting through the hole in the door, clawing for the men. -Liz
Liz: "MOVE! NOW!" Liz shouted to the men, signaling everyone into the next door, which led out onto a metal platform that wrapped around the edge of the room over a warehouse. -04:32 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: "C'mon officer, I will buy you a doughnut." He muttered. Marcus turns and runs towards safety. -04:33 Feb 04
Korben: "Those PCP junkies are gonna be sore in the morning," Korben muttered as he hopped out onto the balcony. He froze suddenly, going pale, eyes wide. Down on the street below, his car had been rolled over. "AW MAN!" -04:34 Feb 04
Hailey: "If you get eaten..." Hailey cautioned the officer before running into the building after Liz, not finishing her statement. The warehouse was eerily silent, in contrast to the din of just a moment before. There didn't seem to be any of the creatures yet. She frowned down. "Sometimes, warehouses have reinforced doors" she muttered to Liz, gazing down. What if they were trapped here? -04:36 Feb 04
Liz: The metal flooring clanged loudly as Liz walked around the quiet warehouse balcony. She didn't care to discuss their situation, all she knew was that she needed to get out of this area, maybe even the city. "Isn't the tram towards the hospital just outside the back door here?" Liz cried back, maybe the doctors had some idea of what was going on? -04:38 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: Marcus slipped into the warehouse. Running his hands through brown hair, he looked at the destruction outside. "I don't think it will hurt to check, ma'am." -04:41 Feb 04
Korben: Korben was leant at one end of the catwalk, peering through the shutters of a window. The city outside was alive with emergency lights, smoke, screams and gunshots. "Goddam... the whole of Westfield's gone to hell..." -04:41 Feb 04
Hailey: "I guess we should head down, for the back of the building then. If the tram is still running, that is. Hopefully, they don't have reinforced doors or anything." Hailey realized she was sounding awfully pessimistic. "No harm in checking!" she finished, trying to smile. The stairs down to the floor were not far away and Liz was already coming upon them as they spoke. -04:44 Feb 04
The couch hadn't held out long and the creatures had pushed the couch out of the way and were already making their way into the lounge and onto the balcony after the survivors -Liz
Korben: "Fuck!" Korben drew his pistol and pointed it at the first of the people spilling onto the walkway. "Get back! Police!" As before, they ignored him and began charging in clumsy, frenzied bounds. "Shit!" Korben turned and ran down the gantry after the others. "MOVE!" -04:53 Feb 04
Liz: She only took a half a glance back at the creatures coming in and Korben as he gave chase to the rest of them. She bounded down the metal staircase to the concrete floor. She hoped that the doors down here would at least be unlocked, she didn't relish the thought of being eaten by a bunch of monsters in this warehouse. -04:56 Feb 04
Hailey: Hailey kept her place right behind Liz, entirely against being eaten. The warehouse, it seemed, had been abandoned in a panic by the workers. There was some blood splatter, but no one in sight. The doors, however, were mercifully unlocked when she tried the handle. "Looks like we're in luck, guys!" -04:57 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: Marcus stayed close behind. Why was this happening? This better be a dream. Crap, I left my notebook. "Good, let's exit this hell-hole." -04:58 Feb 04
Korben: One of the creatures, dressed in a raincoat, had spurred ahead, clearing the space between himself and Korben in a few bounds. He leapt atop the officer as reached the end of the wallkway, and together they went sliding down the stairs, wrestling and punching. -05:02 Feb 04
Outside the cries of the undead could be heard as they shuffled about, now ignoring Allen's Bar with their meals escaped. The tram sat unattended, just on the other side of the warehouse's shutter doors, free for them to use. -Liz
Korben: Korben's pistol was wedged between them. He fired, the bullets exploding inside the man's gut, but not slowing him in the slightest. "WHAT THE FUCK!" -05:02 Feb 04
Liz: "SHIT!" Liz cried, pointing towards Korben, startled by the sound of the gunshot. The other monsters on the walkway above groaned and continued making their way, one was knocked over by it's others and landed with a wet smack on the floor, just next to where Liz was standing. -05:04 Feb 04
Hailey: Hailey turned to see the cause of the commotion, her fire extinguisher still tightly gripped in her hands and at the ready. He was shooting, but the creature wasn't stopping. "Satisfied now that they aren't going to sit your badge and calmly fill out arrest paperwork?" she asked, rushing to his aid with her fire extinguisher. She slammed the now dingy red metal into the creature's skull, causing it to at least be stopped. -05:04 Feb 04
Korben: "Sorry, what?" Korben yelled at Hailey, reaching up to grip her shoulder. He pulled her aside and fired at the zombie coming down the stairs behind her. The bullet entered its eye-socket and blew out the back of its skull. -05:06 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: Marcus took aim with Earl's Revolver. Sweat started to seep into his collar. He fires one at the crowd of zombies. The kick-back made him jump. "Eep." -05:07 Feb 04
Liz: This was going to get them nowhere fast! Liz moved away from the others and worked at opening the shutter door, tugging on the heavy chain. -05:09 Feb 04
More and more creatures stumbled their way across the walkway above the survivors and as more clogged the path more were accidentally shoved off, landing with wet splats on the concrete. -Liz
Hailey: Hailey was cowed by the gunshot and instead turned tail and fled back to Liz. "They're going to kill us if we don't hurry!" she sounded half-hysterical. -05:11 Feb 04
Liz: "HERE! HELP!" Liz cried shoving the chain into Hailey's hands and made sure she was helping her pull up the shutter door, a light breeze wafted through the opened doorway the stench of decay and death combined with the smell of fire from a nearby building that had caught ablaze. "GO!" Liz cried gesturing for the men to go through the opening. -05:15 Feb 04
Korben: "Fuck, fuck, fuck!" Korben dodged the falling zombie that crashed onto the floor around him. With his gun and shirt splattered with zombie guts he ran from the shutters and rolled underneath them, out into the smoke-choked streets. He came up into firing stance, scanning the area. "LET'S GO!" -05:18 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: The waitress needed not to ask twice. Marcus easily slipped through the opening. The smell was terrible, so he coughed to relieve himself.. -05:19 Feb 04
Liz: Shoving Hailey through the door Liz rolled out just as the shutters crashed down behind her, trapping the zombies inside behind them. "Where, where's that tram now?" Liz coughed covering her mouth and nose with her wrist to block out the smoke. Just to their right was another car on fire. -05:21 Feb 04
The tram was just up the street a little ways, downwind from the smoke. It was unattended and from where the survivors were standing it certainly looked operational, all they had to deal with were a few more of the zombies wandering aimlessly across the street. -Liz
Korben: "What is wrong with these people?" Korben exclaimed as he watched the slow-meandering creatures on the street, like lost souls sniffing at the smoke. -05:26 Feb 04
Hailey: Changing her stance from aggressive to fleeing was not hard to do, but the cop in denial wasn't making their flight any easier. She was through arguing with him. "Doesn't matter, we should try to get to the tram as fast as possible." The fire extinguisher was quickly becoming dear to her, like a friend. She held it ready to fend off any attacking baddies. -05:28 Feb 04
Liz: "I don't know if they are people anymore..." Liz murmured as she started down the street, ringing her hands together in worry. "Let's just get to the hospital, they might have some answers for us..." -05:28 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: Marcus nodded to agree with Liz. He gripped the relvor, knowing he only had 3 shots left. Better save them, he thought. This was not a good time to wasteful. -05:30 Feb 04
Liz: The zombies on the street seemed to be occupied with something other than the survivors and Liz made it onto the tram with relative ease. "Does anybody know how to activate this?" She asked, looking at the others. -05:34 Feb 04
Korben: "Okay, let's go." Korben took the lead, jogging down the smoke-filled street and weaving a course between the zombies. These ones seemed more lethargic, perhaps confused by the smoke, unable to smell their prey. Korben kept his eyes averted as he passed a pair of them who were feasting on a vagrant. -05:35 Feb 04
Liz: ((Reverse last two posts)) -05:35 Feb 04
Hailey: Running low on adrenaline and beginning to get tired, Hailey clambered up onto the tram and took a gander at its controls. She had no idea how to operate it at all. "Is it... maybe, like a big car?" she gestured helplessly at it, looking a bit put out. She wished she could be more help but alas, she was more adept at working coffee machines and spritzing whipped cream and caramel sauce. -05:37 Feb 04
Marcus Knott: He shivered seeing the bloody feast. Being the last one on, he watched the back. Marcus was not a tram operator. There was no way he could help the woman anyways. -05:39 Feb 04
Liz: Seemingly without any knowledge aboard Liz sat down in the driver's seat and fiddled with a few levers for a moment before the tram jerked forward for a moment before rolling along the tracks, moving through the smoke filled street, passing a few more zombies feasting on those unfortunate to be caught by them. -05:42 Feb 04
Korben: "Woah, fuck, wait for me!" Korben leapt up onto the tram as it began rolling down the avenue towards downtown. -05:43 Feb 04
The survivors were relatively safe as the tram rolled along the streets. From ahead the hospital cut through the smoke like a beacon in the night. The lights were still on and the survivors could see from here that most of the entrances were boarded up, as well as a couple of cop cars sitting outside, their lights still on. It was a sign of hope, of possible refuge. -Liz
Hailey: "Mr. Police Officer, it looks like we've found some friends for you! Maybe you should show them your badge!" Hailey said enthusiastically, eyeing the around around where the tram was slowing to a halt. It appeared to be relatively creep free and the hospital seemed like the answer to their hopes. She felt a little bad about her sarcasm to the cop, but doubted he would even think to interpret it as anything but serious. Hopping off the tram, she approached a nearby cop car with her hands up. -05:50 Feb 04
