Gabriel listened to Cassandra closely, finding that her words soothed the turmoil in his heart, and he nodded his understanding to her, but it was her fingers that made him release a sigh and close his eyes. A purr rumbled through his chest and he leaned into her touch, wanting nothing more than to lay out in the sun, his head in her lap and go to sleep for a time. To know the peace and ease they'd had just a few months prior. Everything had changed so fast and while Gabriel had been keeping pace with it, he felt like more and more he had to run to keep up.

He was more than ready to stop...even as he knew he couldn't, wouldn't do that. Too many people needed him, needed the others and he knew it.

So he kept going, but each day he felt like he was losing himself to something he wasn't sure he wanted to be. And now this thing with the government was coming closer, looming over his head....

Gabriel shivered, eyes opening, and his purr choked off before he could help it at the thought of what David had told him just yesterday, something he'd not yet shared with Cassandra.

Katrina smiled into the kiss initially, rather pleased with his choice to stay here with her, but as Colton started to deepen the action, all thought fled from her mind unless it be about the man who held her so gently and securely, like she was precious treasure he didn't want to break. It made her heart swell with love for him, with happiness and when Katrina felt the memories stir, her body protesting such an intimate act as this, she shoved it back.

Not this time.

Her arms tightened around Colton then, her mouth working with his own in a passionate dance as her body pressed closer, telling him she was perfectly fine and agreeable to his actions as shivers of heat raced up her spine and when Katrina finally pulled back for air, it was reluctantly.

She chuckled deep in her throat, pulling gently at Colton's hair near the base of his skull as she looked up at him. "Well now, that was a rather nice moment, don't you think?"
