Fighting Style
If they received some sort of formal self defense training, what is it? Where did they learn this? Your character doesn't necessarily have to have a fighting style if they're specialty isn't combat-oriented such as infiltration and hacking.
Combat Abilities
The following section is for any "combat abilities" that your character has that's based on their speciality and fighting style. Make sure to clarify the following: if it's power-based, cybernetic-based, or skill-based. Powers should come in a "powerset" that makes sense with one another and lends to "reinforcing" their specialty. The same applies to cybernetic and skills. Character don't need to have all three to fill this section out. A character can even have just skill-based abilities (I.E. they can exploit an enemy's weak point, are a sharpshooter, etc.). Characters that have a specialty outside of combat doesn't necessarily need full detail about this section, but may have one or two defensive abilities that help them out in a pinch. This section should be written to clarify how these abilities work and any weaknesses with their abilities. However, it could be written in bullet point (with the name bolded and at the top first) or in paragraph form.
Passive Abilities
Like previously, this section is for any "passive abilities" that your character has based on their ability and outside of combat. It can come from either powers, cybernetic enhancements, and skills. Please refer to the previous section in how I'd like this section written. Passive abilities can include a character's efficiently to manipulate people, hack, or infiltrate (as examples).
Tools
What does your character prefer to use in their line of work? This section is to state what your character likes to use (be it gadgets and/or weapons), but not necessarily what they constantly carry on them. BANDITS
In a mideval-ish fantasy world, you have your generic various kingdoms are fighting each other kind of deal going on. They're trying to bring peace by sending off noble diplomats and sometimes noble children to go live off at someone else's kingdom for some good faith. This story revolves around five nobles from one kingdom that gets sent off to another kingdom. But while in transit, they get stopped by some bandits. Instead of just being robbed, these goons think it's a good idea to kidnap them. So they take the nobles to their base and show their leader their bounty. Their leader, having some common sense, understands that their lackey bandits just dun' fucked up and they'll probably have te royal guard after them in no time. So five of the top bandits in this group come together and try to figure out what the best plan of action is to get these nobles back without being killed on sight.

Playable characters would be the bandits and the nobles, and possibly some of the royal guard + extras. The number of playable bandits and nobles are subject to change, but no more than 5 and no less than 2. It's meant to be a little bit of a comedy and action-adventure type rp.


DEAD END TOKYO
Inspired by this song, the game YAKUZA 0, and a previous rp made by a friend.
In the near future, the presence of Yakuza have increased dramatically, and once again, Tokyo has become a battleground for territory claim. However, there is a small plot of land that remains untouched by civilization. Tucked away in the intricate industrialized streets, is one lot that is the pinhole in controlling all of Tokyo. The Yakuza are closing in on it, but it seems that the owner of the lot is unwilling to move. Almost as if they are an immovable force. On the flip side, there is a corporate business that has been on the rise that seems just as threatening if not worse than the Yakuza themselves. In Tokyo, there's a lot going on and whether you're part of an organization, a company, or someone that's just trying to make it in the world, you are somehow connected to the importance of this lot.

I'm thinking it's probably going to be a little more slice of life, despite there being two (or more) factions and room for civilians. It's meant to be a little gimmicky and not entirely logically sound, but there should be quite a bit of action, drama, and character interaction.


ISE MONOGATARI
English translation: Tales of Ise. Inspirations come from Samurai Champloo, Japanese folklore, the mobile app game Onmyoji, etc.
It's Edo period in Japan, and as peace envelops the unified country, city dwelling increases greatly, leaving several shrines and temples abandoned so that people could do their civil duties as well as make money as merchants or find residence in more heavily sanctioned temples and shrines. Because of this, there has been inauspicious signs of something changing in the world of the kami--hidden from the human's view. But as the nights grow longer and the days shorter, it's one particular shrine that reads the bad omens. They decide to send one of their priestesses to Ise Shrine, however she must travel along the Tokaido road to get there. Along the way, the priestess will encounter various individuals that will join her on her journey. Some may include a ronin, a taknuki, kami with no residences, etc. It is their mission to go to Ise and figure out what is happening, and find a way to stop it.

It's pretty much an adventure rp revolving around about 5-6 characters. They will travel and encounter obstacles along the way. In the end they will find that Amaterasu is going into hiding and must find a way to stop her before she manages to hide herself away in the cave that was supposedly sealed off long long ago.


RADIANT HEARTS
Inspired by a very old rp, mahou shoujo, and a little bit of Fate/series.
This rp is set in modern to near future times. It is a rp about self discover and self acceptance, even the faults and negatives of oneself. I'm just putting a mahou shoujo twist on it.

Can the whole mend the shattered? The warmth of the soul is so radiant.
For some reason, these five girls are special. They don't know how exactly, but they are. Given a chance to mend whatever emotion they feel strongest (loneliness, unaccepted, etc), they each are given a shard by a mysterious figure. The shard shines a color that they resonate with the most. A single yearning wish will grant them power in the form of a shattered soul. A heroic servant will come to their aid to protect them from the infringing darkness, however, they do not remember much about themselves or their purpose other than to protect the radiant heart. Each trial the duo go through will bring them closer to becoming whole-- the girl will grow and delve into self discovery, while the heroic spirit will learn more about themselves. All the while, there are monsters lurking in the shadows. An evil force stalks them, waiting for them to fall into despair so that they can claim their heart. For what purpose, the girls may only find out if they work together. Fight the darkness and take back the lost hearts of their predecessors as well as restore the shattered hearts of their guardians-- this is the mission of the Radiant Hearts.

On the metal door with a small frosted glass window were the words 'Conference Room 37-C' scrolled on it in elegant letters. This room was the one designated for Leo to distribute his missions. Inside, the room was massive. It could easily fit thirty people or so comfortably. There were several rows of desks and chairs, each desk having it's own tablet embedded on the surface in front of the seat. In the front of the room was a large screen and a podium in the center. Leaning against it with a cigarette between his lips was the one and only, Leo De Luca. He was still rather miffed at the Upper Management rep's attitude toward him, regardless of whether he actually deserved it or not. Maybe it was the gut feeling inside him that just told him that Cherryh was just a plain asshole.

Leo scrolled through various pages on his tablet as he waited for the agents to show up. He didn't seem to acknowledge them, and simply let the agents take their seats until time to start. After a while he took in a deep breath and let out a billow of smoke as he glanced down at his watch. It's showtime.

Putting his tablet down on the podium, Leo slowly moved to stand behind it. "Good afternoon, agents." He said, voice amplified by the podium's microphone. "If you all don't know by now, I'm Agent Leo De Luca, and I'll be handling your missions today." Emerald eyes scanned over the room, picking out some familiar faces as well as some he had never seen before. "If everyone could please place their hand on the tablet directly in front of you, it will open your specific mission. Unfortunately, missions handlers are a bit short lately, and I'm going to have to give three at one time." He waited and watched as the agents opened up the files presented to them and read over them.

"Group one will be led by Supervisor Melisent Nobili and consist of Sable Mereworth, Yeong-Min Park, and Vyla Gawell." He glanced down at his tablet to skim over his notes. Rainbow Bridge is one of the last remaining through truss bridges." Behind him on the screen, an image of the Rainbow Bridge appeared, then slowly melted into a blueprint-looking image. It started to rotate, showing the bridge from various angles. "Regardless of that, there has been trouble lately around the same time for the last few weeks. Cars have not been allowed to cross through, and authorities cannot find the cause." The bridge image stopped rotating and a red marker appeared on the middle of the bridge, showing where the cars would stop and no longer have access. "There are no accidents or incidences that would warrant such a thing. This may seem very unsuspecting, except for the last few reports from individuals who had claimed something about leprechauns. Of course authorities didn't believe them." He let out a huff and skimmed his finger over the text on his tablet. "Long story short, if it's a leprechaun, we will need this group to capture and relocate it to somewhere not as heavily populated. If it isn't a leprechaun, determine the source and as peacefully as possible, demand relocation or captivity."

"Group two will consist of Supervisor Yun Veraj, Martin Flynt, Yuka Matsui and... Huiyin Wu?" He raised a brow at the last one, knowing fully well that Bobby wasn't part of R&D at all. "A strange box was found by the Collections group from the smaller facility in New Mexico. Unable open it let alone identify it, they requested to bring it here for further examination." The images of the bridge had disappeared by now and was now replaced with the image of a square metal box with intricate carvings on every side. There didn't seem to be a keyhole anywhere on the box, nor hinges. "We were asked to to identify the box and if possible, open it." He paused and looked up. "This mission will be occurring here in our very own base. The box will be arriving in less than an hour at the Magic & Occult wing of R&D."

Glancing back at his tablet, Leo took a final drag of his cigarette before putting it out on the edge of the podium. "Last mission will consist of Agents John Blund, Jet Celeris, Rostam Veraj, Dragovich Vollrath and myself." A slight hesitant pause. "This is a level four mission, and so should not be taken lightly." A map appeared on the screen behind Leo. A marker glowed red over what looked to be a small town. "A couple days ago Invictus had sent out a group of four agents to check on some unusual supernatural activity around a small town. The entire mission itself should have only taken a few hours. Last message we received was this..." He pressed his finger against his tablet and an audio recording player popped up on the screen. The audio was slightly grainy, noting that this had been from commlinks the agents had used.

"Oh my god, is that a goblin with a knife?!
"Actually, that's more like a ton--"


The message was cut off by a horrible crackling noise, and then static. The audio cut and Leo shook his head. "I wish I could say this was a hoax, but security later discovered that the entire town was leveled shortly after receiving that message. We are sending out a search and destroy team to try and find the missing agents and eliminate the threat that had decimated the town."

Leo grimaced as he swiped his finger along his tablet again, turning off all the images. "If you've got any questions or concerns, say them now. We will be grouping and dispatching soon."​

Ea's keyblade actually has two forms. One of which, it looks like the keyblade above (it's normal form). The second form become gloves and bracers in the same color and theme as the keyblade. When it is in the bracer form, it is strictly used for enhancing spellcasting. While in keyblade form, it has the capability of taking on elemental qualities. However, Ea only knows how to use the keyblade form and basic elemental qualities for it.

Unique Item: A pendant in the shape of a crescent moon.

Short Bio: Though Ea had parents, he grew up not knowing them. He was one of few individuals picked at birth to be part of an experimental group that would be raised and trained to serve the Covenant. It's intentions were good, and all the children that were a part of it were treated more than just tools. However, they were instilled with a sense of pride and duty. They had an objective to fight toward, and that was all that mattered to them.

Ea was one of the rare ones that showed a magical affinity. Though he never really seemed interested in his studies, he always came out with high marks. But he never felt he belonged within the walls of the small academy for mages. He wanted to be part of the many that went out to scavenge and protect. He wanted to be something more. He wanted to be a guardian of Last World. With pure determination, he managed to fight his way into combat training, and there, he proved to have promise.

It took quite a few years for Ea to be seen as more than a mage boy. More than a number from a unit. More than a tool. He became someone with great potential and someone that impressed the elders rather surprisingly. He proved his worth . In a few days, he would take the proficiency exam to see where he placed, and whether he could even attempt to become a Last World Guard.

But just a couple nights before, Ea had a horrible nightmare. He had been surrounded by all of his friends that he had made over the years, his mentors, his keepers and even his parents. Everyone he knew and cared about surrounded him, stared at him. And they mocked him. He found that he had been chained to the glass floor beneath him, but as he screamed out, pleading for answers, his voice was unheard and the glass shattered beneath him. Everything was cast into shadow, and he fell into complete and utter darkness. When Ea woke from his nightmare, he felt a searing pain on the left side of his chest. When he looked, he found he had a symbol branded onto his chest. It was his mark, and the next day it was explained to him that he had been chosen to become a Guardian.

General Mechanics of Invictus[/hr]


So this section is pretty much a brief introduction of what Invictus is and what to expect. If you want any further details, feel free to ask and/or head over to the [ MORE ] page that could be found on the first post's side buttons.

Overview of Invictus

Invictus is an organization that has existed for a long time now, and similar to many secret organizations, guilds, and orders, it remains in the shadows of common societies so not to create a mass disturbance to the otherwise human populace.

Indeed there are mythical creatures, beasts, extraplanar beings, deities, and people with powers and abilities that hide in plain sight. Some are more blended in with normal society than others, but they exist in and outside of stories. It is up to Invictus to determine whether these beings are hostile or not, and to maintain a balance between them and the unknowing world. Within this duty, Invictus is also responsible for capturing hostiles or deviants, eliminating or exterminating threats, intervening in interpersonal affairs in order to keep peace and balance---as well as other small tasks. All of this is to keep a balance within the world (and various planes of existence).

This does not mean that Invictus is good though. Invictus takes on a grey morality, and has on many occasions had to make calls that were morally questionable. One common questionable tactic is how they acquire new agents. Some come willingly, others are strongarmed into joining. And others are given ultimatums or simply no other options. It is possible to make an agreement to be an outsourced with Invictus, but only if the situations surrounding calls for it.

There are other organizations and groups out there besides Invictus, and even though Invictus can be found at all reaches of the globe, they are not the only supernatural force. Groups such as The Mages Guild, The Order of the Fae (associated with the Seelie Court), The Red Tide, and many more, play major factors within the world, and Invictus is forced to interact with them in various ways. Some are allied, or have agreements. Others, are considered enemies of interest. Regardless, Invictus continues to stay as neutral as possible despite many conflicts involving agents and these various groups.

Acts, Arcs, and Episodes

Something I will implement in Invictus is the Acts, Arcs, and Episodes system. In other words, the roleplay main story will progress in a series of Acts, however there will be Arcs that will showcase characters and/or explore more about them and the world. And Episodes will be those fun little events that may or may not exactly be important. Each Act will have a few Arcs and Episodes within them. The Arcs will all give bits and pieces that will pull together the main story. I'll lay it out a little bit easier to conceptualize:

Acts - a section of the main story
Arcs - side stories and character developing stories that help direct to main story
Episodes - small silly or random events for just plain fun

These Acts, Arcs and Episodes will all have summaries of them written and posted in the last few posts of this thread. Each summary will give a general guideline of what is going on and what is to come, but once we hit certain milestones within the story, I will update to add more detail. Each Act will be posted upon entering it, and Arcs and Episodes will be listed accordingly.

Premise: A secret organization that operates all over the world maintains order between the "normal" world and the "supernatural" world by any means necessary. Agents from all over are brought into the Texas facility melting pot to live and work.

Personal Statement: INVICTUS is a supernatural organization roleplay with a multi-point story system that will give characters the necessities to partake in the main story. This is a progression rp, where characters will develop and grow while unveiling the main story conflict through missions and interactions. Each character will be able to shine in at least one of the many story arcs to come, giving them an importance to the end goal. This roleplay will require dedication, even through the slow and tough times. If you're able to stick through it, hopefully the rewards will be satisfying.

Notice: The roleplay may be a bit slow, but has rather lax posting requirements. However, it is very plot heavy and requires communication between players and the GM. This is also considered a large rp with a large amount of players and larger amount of characters.​

Invictus Departments[/hr]


The Invictus Texas Branch has taken on a system similar to it's New York and California counterparts, where the facility is split into different departments that do different tasks. All are agent operative-ran and each department is led by a Supervisor that may also appoint Assistant Supervisors if necessary. Agents are allowed to transfer in and out of departments as well as be laterally promoted between departments. It is not uncommon for departments to work together on tasks as well. However, every department has their own area within the Invictus facility to claim as their base of operations.

Department of Security & Defense

The Invictus Texas Branch is a massive facility, and thus, needs ample amount of protection not only to the facility, but to the hundreds of agents it houses and aids in transfers to other facilities. In doing such, there are a few sub-divisions among the Department of Security & Defense that regulate and maintain order among the organized chaos.

Internal Affairs pose at Invictus' in-house legal force, as well as the problem solvers when issues arise. An Internal Affair agent may be sent out when there is a dispute between agents, or if an agent happens to lose control over themselves or their abilities. They also investigate complaints and deviance from agents within the facility. They are also capable of distributing punishments if not deemed severe enough to take the issue to Upper Management.

Security are in reality, your generic security guards. However, the requirement for becoming a security guard is quite high. Agents must be of good standing, have several superiors' references, and must have a high capability of controlling their abilities. Security must also be strong enough to subdue other agents, and so certain abilities may be more sought after than others. These agents are the ones you see upon entering the base, at every checkpoint, patrol near the shipyards, the hangars, the armories, and also maintain the holding cells and transport any agent that is considered hostile, or are in holding.

The Second Line of Defense (SLD) is consisted of agents from various departments (mainly DoD but can be from others) who are incredibly strong in ability and resolve who are capable of holding the back lines in case shit hits the fan. They are only called upon in emergencies, and may also take leading commands during critical times. They disband when not needed, and come together quarter-annually to discuss matters and make sure things are still running smoothly.

Department Research & Development

The Department of Research & Development is very true to it's name. Filled with inventors, tinkerers, alchemists, scholars and overall people of knowledge, these are the people you go to when you need something knowledge, tech, or other equipment based. The Department of R&D are responsible for things such as maintaining the bestiary compendiums, solve problems using magic or science, as well as handling new or experimental technology and safeholding found artifacts. There is much, much more that they are capable of, and prove to be beneficial in and out of the field.

The Department of R&D is split into two sub-departments that reside in the left wing and right wing respectively on their designated floor. These sub-departments are Science & Technology and Magic & Occult. They tend to cross paths often, however each wing grants them ample amounts of space for maintaining resources as well as holding agent offices, test rooms, containment cells and more.

Medical Department

The Medical Department is pretty self-explanatory. Anything that has to do anything with healing, physical, mental, magical or otherwise, would be done here. The Medical Department is headed by one Supervisor, who oversees all parts of the entire floor it occupies. There are no true sub-divisions within the Medical Department, but they do have various responsibilities on and off the field.

The Field Medics are the ones that are sent out with the other Field Agents just in case there is potential of harm. They are usually fully qualified in healing, but they may also have qualifications in ridding of curses, mending weapons and artifacts, or have spiritual healing capabilities. Generally the field Medics, however, just do patchwork until the unit can get back to the facility.

When an agent is severely injured, they will be sent to the Medical Department floor, also known as the Infirmary, where they will be treated by the Infirmary Staff. These are your serious doctors and healers of stronger caliber. It isn't too often they go out on the field (unless special circumstances). They are the ones that maintain the Infirmary and Medical Bay and see patients no matter how severe-- it could just be a routine checkup to a life or death surgery. They mix both medical science and magic, depending on what is most necessary at the time. They have and continue to work closely with the R&D.
