Vampires. They exist in many forms throughout different cultures. Some view them as abhorrent monsters who hunt humans for sport. Some view them as magical creatures abandoned by whichever deity they believe in. It doesn't really matter. The only theme common to them is that they feast on the blood of humans.
There are several different kinds of vampire though, ordered here from most common to rarest. Which type you become when you are turned is dependent upon your bloodline - that is, your ancestry. This also determines whether or not you will actually turn or whether you will only die. If you do turn, then the chance your children will also turn is increased. In order to actually become a vampire, you must fulfill two conditions. First, you must have been bitten by a vampire. Second, enough time must have passed between you being bitten and you dying for the toxin to have reached the heart. If you get bitten on the jugular for example, you will die instantly and will not become turned.
Common Traits:
All vampires, regardless of strain, share several common traits. All vampires have stunning regeneration rates, healing paper cuts instantly and regrowing limbs after about 2 weeks. The only way to kill a vampire is to decapitate it or destroy its heart. Note that this can be done in numerous ways. Cremation for example, will work just the same. If a vampire goes too long without drinking, it will become weak and will shrivel and die. How much a vampire needs to drink is dependent upon their size. A vampire that was an adult before it turned will drink about 1 litre of blood per feast. Note that a human contains roughly 4 litres of blood, so 4 feastings will kill them. 2 feastings will make them weak and seem to have anemia. All vampires (with some exceptions) have varying suggestion abilities. When they feast upon a human, they can plant a small message in that person's mind and they will then carry out that command. All vampires have an instinctive fear of religious icons, although it will not actually kill them and they can get over it with extensive training, as you would get over a normal phobia. Some vampires, especially older ones, tire more easily, and will enter an unbreakable, coma-like sleep during the daytime.

And so without further ado, the plot!
Komeat, a large village situated in the mountains of northern Romania. To the East and West, the way is blocked by high peaks and thick forest, and the nearest town is almost an hour's drive away. On the hill to the north, overlooking the town, lies a derelict castle which was recently bought by a private owner who intends to renovate it. The village has a population of just under 3000. It has one school, although most of the older children attend boarding schools and only come back for the weekends.
This town's location and environment make it an ideal place to build a haven, that is, a place for a given coven to live in. However, it seems that two groups had the idea at the same time, causing quite a deal of conflict after the sun goes down.
I would appreciate it if all players were to make at least 2 characters - one vampire and one human, so that there are guaranteed to be representatives from each of the three groups of people - the two covens and the humans. I will accept only one more Denizen character, who will be the leader of the coven opposing my character's. Each type of vampire is specialised to different roles too, so look over other characters before making your own and try to create a good balance between roles. A coven consisting entirely of Gargoyles may be pretty hard to wipe out, but on the other hand, they'd have quite a few problems wiping out the humans in return.

She is highly ambitious and very secretive about her plans, but they have been successful in the past so her coven trust her choices. She is one of few vampires who has overcome the instinctive fear of religious icons.

Ghoul
The most common type of vampire, and the weakest, and have no particular special traits. On the other hand, they are still dead. Their skin is paler than normal, they are deathly cold to touch, they have no pulse and they do not need to breath except to speak. They burn very easily when exposed to sunlight, fully incinerating in around 30 seconds. Ghouls are not particularly thirsty creatures. They can last 4 days without drinking. After 2 days, their regenerative capabilities are disabled and they burn even more quickly in sunlight. A ghoul's Suggestion ability is weak. They can only use 4 words per suggestion, and the victim will not go out of their way to carry out difficult suggestions.
Jackal
A common species. They function similarly to a ghoul, however, they are about 25% stronger and 25% faster. Jackals can last 45 seconds before fully incinerating, and can last 15 seconds in sunlight before they even show signs of burning up. Jackals cannot, however, use suggestion at all.
Daywalker
A relatively rare breed of vampire. They function exactly the same as a ghoul does, however, they can move outside without burning, making them very good at pretending to be human. They can work in a similar way to cold blooded lizards, in that they can bask in the sunlight in order to make themselves seem to have body heat too.
Gargoyle
An interesting species. They are a rare bloodline, although in some areas of Europe they are quite common due to being popular as castle guards. Gargoyles have the ability to turn their skin to stone. If they do this, they will shut down and will instantly wake up when someone comes close to them. It's an all or nothing occurrence. They cannot turn, for example, their fist into stone without turning their entire body into stone. Due to this ability, gargoyles have often been known to outlast even the largest vigilante raids, and are the primary reason that vampire covens seem to be very difficult to eliminate completely. Gargoyles can go 6 days without drinking, and can last almost indefinitely while they are stone-skinned. Instead of burning in sunlight, a gargoyle will automatically turn to stone as a self defense mechanism.
Shade
Shades are easily the most well known form of vampire, and are responsible for many of the supposed vampire legends. They have the traditional power of being able to turn into an acidic mist for a short length of time. This duration varies with age, with older vampires being able to use it for longer. Shades are also more difficult to see, and have a reduced presence. During full moons and nearing midnight, you can look straight at one without knowing it's there at all. Shades can go 4 days without drinking, just like ghouls. They can survive a decent length of time before incinerating completely, although in mist form, this time is reduced.
Denizen
The most powerful and the rarest form of vampire. Unlike other forms, one cannot be born into the denizen bloodline. In order to become a Denizen one must fulfill several extra conditions. Firstly, they must be a virgin at the time they are bitten. Secondly, they must turn without dying - this usually involves being mistaken as being dead and being buried before brain activity has stopped 100%. Thirdly, they must not have been baptised and they must follow no religion. Finally, the vampire that sired them (Ie, the one that bit them first), must have been killed before the victim turned. Denizens usually act as lords of sorts, and are viewed with a lot of respect from other vampires, even those of opposing covens. Covens usually only have one Denizen, since those with multiple tend to have fights and split into separate covens.

A young jewish man abbandoned his religion when he felt that God didn't protect him after he and his mother were expelled from Prussia march 26 1885 like the other Jews. his father had neglected to baptize( or bless at birth) him, And he never wanted to do the mikvah, and thus never did When his mother died attempting to survive in the cold Russian tundra, he crowded behind a sturdy bush hoping to wait out the storm. but as he was starting to fall asleep a crazed Vampire attacked him wanting for blood. Yaakov after being bitten and mortally wounded stabbed the vampire in the chest with a pointed stick from off the ground. As the venom Changed him he watched his sire die. before being buried underneath the falling snow. when he awoke he found himself very hungry. Feasting off and on over the years he eventually joined the Russian armies and witnessed World wars. He then traveled the world and amassed a fortune. He bought a large townhouse because the castle was unavailable for purchase at the time he looked.
3 years after the townhouse was purchased he had finally composed himself and his affairs well enough to make the move from now very populated St.Petersburg. to find another coven. he also found Éliane Alecsandri whom he is obsessed with and wishes to turn her but can't due to needing another Denizen in order to make her on equal level like him in the most symbolic way possible.
