I have written a description on my profile and have a request thread, but something feels off. It's most likely my defense mechanisms that's blocking my ability to discern how I come across to forum users. You don't know me so I don't expect you to tell me what to write about myself, but I need an outsiders perspective to hold up a mirror and tell me what I am doing wrong and how can I improve.

Yes you might hurt my feelings, as I am not thick skinned. But a heavy dose of reality and time to think will help me in the long run. Even if you are harsh, I know I am asking for it, so I won't take things personally.
Thank you for taking the time.

Here's the request thread: ALWAYS OPEN - PARTNER REQUEST - Apocalypse_enjoyer's zombie scenario world building and rp request thread -- 1x1

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Roleplaying is all about finding the people and places that mesh with you and there isn't one wrong or right way to do it. I think you get your wants and desires across clearly and I don't find anything confusing about what you've written either in your search thread or on your profile. To me you come across as straight-forward, serious, and as someone a bit older. The only thing that personally throws me off is your use of the terms "semi-lit" and "lit" as I find these to not be the best of descriptors when it comes to describing what you're actually looking for. Especially as I have strong associations with those descriptions and elitist circles. That is in no way saying you are but it is something that puts me off.

I hope that's helpful.

Oof, that is what throws me off. I never had words to describe it before until you mentioned that there are elitist circles within those terms. Like I never really could describe why that always threw me til you said it.

Also, Iwaku is a slower site. It took me... a while to get even the two roleplays I have now. I don't mind that, but patience here is kind of a bigger thing.

Very helpful, thank you for the overall look at the situation and feedback, much appreciated. I took up semi lit etc from RP nation because folks there are peculiar on how a profile/request thread should include. I'll add something along the lines of "casual" or "X paragraphs" roleplays.

Take care, cheers.

Got it, quality over quantity. I'll change the lit part to something more casual as I described on the post above. Thank you for the feedback
