Crimson Wing

This group needed a leader. A fact that nova realized quick.
Okay then. Miku, you go up on the trees and follow us from tree to tree.
Ryan, stay behind me and make sure nothing comes from the sides.
I will take the lead and make sure to warn you if i see something.
Let's get moving.
Nova leaded the way as he said he would and made sure not to loose his Ryan and Miku. He Ran toward the weird disturbance that he felt since a while.

Raven set her pack down, easily slipping out a small knife able to held in the palm of her hand without being seen by anyone. If these creatures turned out to be hostile, she would be ready for it. Military training kicked in and her posture straightened.

"We are here for research only. We are not hostile towards anyone here and we are very willing to negotiate terms on how we conduct our research in your territory." She knew it was not her place, technically, to speak for the group diplomatically. But if she knew anything about native peoples, she knew that they didn't take kindly to information that was unknown to them.

One of the guards had stepped up to Bob, a short man to Bob who towered over him at 6'5. The man had a weapon that resembled a naginata pointed at Bob's throat, though the expression on his face showed only mild irritation with a raised eyebrow that seemed to imply that he was waiting for the guard to bring it, as the guard seemed annoyed that he stomped his cigarette out on the ground.

Bob's ears picked up on noises from the forest behind the group of soldier's over Raven's pandering to the natives, voices and the sounds of movement, the smell of scorched leaves. He made no mention of it, thinking it trivial and instead silently scoffed at Raven and Isaace replying to the woman thinking, 'Really? Just pop over to the universe next door and expect the indigenous to just let us go about our merry? We may as well have just landed here from Mars to these people, but by all means go with the standard -We come in peace-' but of course he expected resistance, and was fully prepared to lay waste to these people if they decided the We come in peace speech was as much of a lie as he'd already thought it was, nobody needed a combat mech for research.

Really? These two were just calling him an idiot a second ago and now they were off still being arrogant and unable to see what he was doing. Engy sighed, small talk was the key to get people to trust you, if you go out with big and bad business talk then they would be suspicious. The best thing to do is go about in a friendly manner until their is no possible way to continue. Silent bob already looked like he was ready to pick a fight, that was a bad idea. Our mission was recon, get in, find out some basic stuff, get to know the natives and if hostile make a show of power to keep them from attacking. Why else would they need to bring all this weaponry!

"Raven, you don't need to be so formal. We can show respect and be friendly at the same time." He said not letting his irritation show on the outside, "Unless they request we talk formally with them we should just relax. We don't even know if their 'formal speech' is the same as ours." He returned his eyes to whoever the girl was that spoke out. "May we have a name? I'm Engy."

Raven rolled her eyes. "Military training, honey," she replied bluntly, not even looking at Engy. "Once it gets beaten into you, you don't forget it." She wasn't irritated anymore with the mechanic. If anything, she was forcing herself to be polite. She'd definitely overreacted with the bomb, even if she'd been almost blown to pieces by one. She deserved to be called "Princess," at this point.

But she would NEVER admit that to Engy. She still had her pride to keep intact.

((Hanaku and Ryex need way too long to react. I'll continue without them if i have to.))

Nova arrived at the scene. Some of the guards were looking at him and were about to say him that he shouldn't be here. But he didn't give them the time to say that.
He ran at them and slid under them to get past the wall of guards. It took him only a moment to get up, and as he saw the portal, he ran to it's direction, not caring who those people at the portal are. His motives were unpredictable, but he prepared some of his energy in his left arm. Was it to attack? Did he plan to use it as a shield should they attack? Did he even thing about what might happen to him? This would be relieved once he is close enough.

A boy ended up appearing seemingly from nowhere, though Bob had heard him coming. The boy had slid passed the guards and was headed to the portal, knowing that would most likely cause some problems, Bob attempted to catch the kid and toss him back by his right arm, his large hand quickly moving to try and grip the young man's shoulder to then try to throw him back. "Back off, dude!" He growled, the first time his voice had been heard in this dimension.

(sorry nova work caught up to me) Miku nods as nova tells to to follow from the Trees, She follows close by looking around as she went until she spotted the city guards with a bunch of strange creatures one very large, As nova slide past the guards Then rushed towards the creatures she got worried and quickly made a few throwing spears out of the branches, As she looks up she notices one of the creatures reach out to try and grab Nova, worried they may harm him she uses her power and cloaks the shotty spear so as to make it invisible, She throws it at the creatures feet to startle it but as it flys the light makes it flicked and the outline becomes noticable. "no no stupid powers fliping out i was going to make it appear after it landed."

Nova saw the spear, or at least it's outline, incoming and grabbed it before it touched the ground.
How about you back off instead?
He turned it and hit the back of his legs with the hold to make him fall in the ground. He didn't want to hurt him after all, but there was something he needed to do.
Nova kept the spear and ran again at the group (or so it seemed.)

Already they were having problems with the natives, and they'd just got here. Charlotte triggered a siren from the mech and began to issue a warning. "Cease all hostilities immediately, or I will use potentially deadly force to dispatch you and prevent further incident." She steered the mech to face the metahuman and the young native, her cannons hissing with electrical action, ready to dispense the first bullet into the gun. "I am authorized to incite my comrades to make peace through threat of lethal force, I assure you, if you release my comrade, you will be released without question." The optical feed audibly focused on Bob.

"You can forgive this native for his actions, correct, ser?" The artificially amplified voice had an intimidating sibilance to it not present in her natural tone.

She didn't want to hurt anybody, and she wanted to choose her words wisely to make this clear to the armed soldiers they were dealing with, who happened to still be present. "Pardon the current situation, madam," she began, addressing the commander of the guard squad, "we are willing to release this civilian in order to prevent a diplomatic incident. If you will have us, we would like to make peace in a controlled and friendly environment, without armed escort and guard on either side." Remembering her place in the line, she then addressed the Ambassador. "Pardon me, ser, for creating terms of peace on behalf of the group."

Bob smiled as the young man tried to make him fall to the ground by hitting him in the back of the legs. It had no effect on Bob, who stood there like a wall. 'Kid must have a deathwish,' he thought, 'But where'd he get the spear....' pushing his thoughts aside, he pulled out a ziptie and with great speed he moved to disarm the young man and cuff him, neutralizing the young man as a threat.

It was at this time, Bob winced hard, the audio in his headset heavily screeching with feedback, it knocked him from his focus, and the kid was now unopposed by the towering metahuman. Bob growled, and put the ziptie back, he wished he kept bolos now, he'd just throw one and hoped it caught the kid tying him up, but he had none of them. He'd let the mech beanbag the kid now, and consulted his wrist mounted PC tapping the words "It was just annoying, nothing more, and don't call me sir." into a message sent to display across C-42's HUD.

Raven rolled her eyes. Yes, yes, threaten civilians. That was about the stupidest thing you could do in front of the armed guard that were obviously authorized to use their own lethal force if necessary. They might have more advanced weaponry, but it was clear that there was something supernatural at work here and that would make them terribly outmatched.

"Charlotte, threatening the civilian is not necessary," she said briskly, moving in between the mech and Nova. She turned, staring at him up and down. "I'd stop if I were you," she said as he started getting closer and closer to her.

((sorry about the delay, I hope this is suitable?))

Ryan trailed a short ways back form Nova as the impromptu trio dashed through the woods, watching the rear as Nova had suggested. Nova clearly thought him self a fit leader but Ryan wasn't really one to be led, sound ideas however were valuable no matter the source and so Ryan kept a close eye on their flanks.
The chaos eye dissipated quickly as they drew closer and was gone by the time they drew close but Ryan was still extremely wary of what might lie ahead.

As they reached the edge of a clearing a scene unfolded before him a contingent of city guards were facing off with another group of strange men. There were a mixed company of men and woman in strange looking clothing with what looked like a highly advanced golem standing in the back.

As Ryan paused at the edge of the trees to observe, Nova did what Ryan would consider to be one of the stupidest things possible at the moment. That is, he ran in with a head long charge at the foreign group. utilizing a partially invisible spear courtesy of Miku's quick reactions.

From the side lines Ryan saw things going bad, and seemed to be heading for a violent cliff. He didn't want things going the route who ever these people were they clearly had power of some kind. ticking them off could not be in the best interest of the nation. or his bodily health considering his proximity.

Acting quickly, Ryan removed the wrapped sword form his back where it was strapped and striped the cloth off to reveal the metal inlay-ed scabbard and belt. master work or not he had a need of a weapon; if not to attack then to intimidate. With deft motions he clasped it around his waist under his long leather coat and bent to the ground to snatch a rock. Ryan's powers of velocity manipulation required a point of reference external to his body to modify velocity. hence the inability to fly. but running and jumping at high speeds were still an option, provided he had a way to stop.

He took one step forward moving into a running stance before blurring into motion and adding velocity to his body. his steps were nearly soundless needing to only touch the ground long enough to adjust his vector and add speed. the only sound he made as he circled around to the side of the two groups was that of the air whipping around his frame and coat. As he ran he added velocity to the side allowing him to turn the corner at a sharp angle and run strait for the gap between Nova and the strange group. the speed with witch he moved made him a blur to the unfocused eye. But anyone paying attention would of been able to track him, abet with a little difficulty.

Ryan's last leap landed solidly four feet to the right and a bit in front of Nova. The contact with the ground allowed him to transfer his excess velocity into the rock he had picked up propelling it into the ground right between the two groups at twice the speed he had been running, resulting in a small kinetic explosion, the sound of thunder clapping and a spray of flying dirt to the side where a effective draw of attention. attention he used to make a loud statement to both parties.

"This needn't get violent for anyone! Clearly there has been some miss-communication." Ryan stated as he looked between the groups, projecting his voice as far as he could. This close Ryan could sense the remnants of the Chaos eye, fluctuations in the Mana field just behind the foreigners noting this he turned to face them proper. "What ever you just did produced some extreme, and particularly dangerous, fluctuation in the local Mana field. What are you doing out here?"

Miku's hair stood on end as Ryan rushed in after Nova, she sighed slightly as he started talking to everyone telling them what she was hoping was on everyones mind, still worried she lept from tree to tree. She then slid down one that was closer to the middle of the clearing where she watched both party's from the shadows, Her eyes mostly on Ryan and Nova. She Isn't one to normaly be in groups like this investigateing things but it was fun and more exciting then her guard duty,so she made sure that the moment somthing went wrong she would be there to help them out.

Nova got up and looked at the group.
I don't know how you made that portal, but it brought a lot of disturbance.
What my comrade here is saying is that it messes with the natural forces just by existing. There is no way you wouldn't know this.
With that said, he began to gather the power of chaos that was spread from the portal. Not only did it slow down the mess it was making with the natural forces he mentioned, it also gave him power.
After just a few seconds, he was covered in a blue aura, making him look like he was on fire.
He moved his feet to be able to dash in any direction if he had to.

((Again, the portal is closed. The bossman mentioned it in OCC))

Now this was an interesting man, he ran between the groups. After the flung dirt and dust cleared the man began talking about a 'mana field' which happened to be the same thing the mech had said. He walked over to the man and looked at him curiously, "I guess we found a man worth talking to. First, Mana. What exactly is it? How is it created? What sort of power type is it? Does it have a connection with your powers?" He rattled off the questions pretty fast out of both curiosity and hope that he would be able to use the answers in the report.

Quickly Engy pulled out a pad to write down the answers figuring his team would shoot anything down that wanted to attack him.

((I still didn't see in which post of the rp it was closed, but for the sake of the rp, i will just go along in case i was wrong. Better then to be the stubborn one.))

Nova canceled his chaos boost and the flames faded away. He was standing normal again, now curious rather then in the mood to fight.
Wait a moment. You mean you really didn't know a thing? Not that there is something wrong with not knowing, but you could have at least considered that these portals are not something that come without some kind of cost.
Ryan. Let's stay put for now. But hold your guard up, just in case.
Miku! Come over here.

Now that he gave them a closer look, they may have some kind of intense weaponry, but they didn't try to attack. And their defense actions were not that offensive.
He took a small book out with a simple leather cover. It must be his journal.
Let's talk then.
Mana is the spiritual energy that surrounds us and is in all living beings. It can be gathered from all who have the knowledge how to do so, to use magic, special attacks, or even enhance physical attributes.
There are various stories how it was created, but none was confirmed since they are merely legends.
Our powers... are none of your concern. I still have no reason to fully trust you.

He put his journal away again and talked to the group.
And now it's my turn.
Who are you and what are you doing here?

Miku smiled and desided to have some fun, she cloaked her self and headed around the group and appeared behind nova grinning. " Boo. hehe whats up nova found out anything from them? or is it you need somthing?" Miku looks around at the travelers as it was her first really look at them, she smiled at them as they seem friendly enough. The giant metal contraption interested her most though its was so cool. "oh ya both you and Ryan were really cool you know its a shame im not as inclined in the magical arts as you two."

"I'm not going to humor your question with an answer," Raven said simply, the knife still firmly concealed in the palm of her hand. It looked like it was only curled into a fist, but the knife was there alright. "We are here for research only. But if you show hostility towards us, we will defend ourselves. If it wasn't obvious enough, we came prepared." Her patience was thinning, but she was managing to maintain her calm exterior. She looked at all of them, her eyes studying each of the natives (especially the three civilians) carefully.

There was something very different about them. And that did not include the fact that some of the guards were definitely not...human.

He watched the strange people doing the physically impossible. Talk of mana and mystic arts as if they truly believed such thing exist, and of course the mechanic was buying into it. His only reply was a highly sarcastic scoff as he pulled out a new cigarette and lit it with a disposable lighter. Blowing out a cloud of smoke, he returned to his thoughts, 'Magic? What the hell were these things talking about? Magic's just science through the eyes of an idiot right?' He thought, 'Of course it is, just that fairytale bullshit you entertain children with to shut up em up or put em to bed.'

One the guards came back up to him, having seen him as a possible danger, the heated breath of another person blowing into his face distracting him. He gave a devious smile, took a drag of his cigarette and exhaled smoke into the guard's face, which contorted as he immediately fell back some and stayed there. 'Maybe he's scared I put a hex on him....' He thought, letting out a barely audible chuckle.

Then the squirrel showed up, and Bob had a perplexed nay, baffled look on his face for perhaps the first time he could recall. 'A SQUIRREL?!? TALKING WALKING?!? A HUMANOID SQUIRREL?!?' Was all that was running through his mind, and he'd completely forgotten the fact that the 'Nova' kid had some sort of energy flowing around him or that the other one seemed to go supersonic in mere seconds.
