Creature Creation Challenge
This challenge explores one facet of worldbuilding: creature creation, as the title says. Whether or not you're a worldbuilder, at one point or another, you're bound to create different kinds of flora and fauna for your world. This challenge brings two new things to the table: first, all the submissions for this challenge will be put into a "bestiary" of sorts in the Worldbuilder's Guild which will be a resource for yourself and anyone who needs creatures for their worlds; second, every week, there will be a different difficulty for the challenge.

Creature Template, #7bd181
Feel free to use this following template for your creatures. You can add on to it or remove things from it as you wish or not use it at all.

Name: Mythira Liqwi
Appearance: Beautiful pale blue and emerald hip length hair in a top knot that flows smoothly behind her. pale blue and opal grey skin from the hips up with violet and sea green strips. Black with silver slits for eyes and a long sea serpent tail with the same strips as on her human torso. Sea pearls and silk wrap in her hair and bout her hips, and chest with sequent gems. Soft fin like frill along the back of her long tail, which ripples with pale yellow electricity, and frills on the underside of her arms and sides with violet gills along her neck just behind her frilled ears.
Role: Mythira is a producer or breeder.
Habitat: When in the ocean she prefers the sea grass to open areas. Which she moves through with ease and makes nests out of. She never stays in one area for to long. When on land she prefers tall grass and sage bush's.
Life-span: Her life span is unknown, but if she is lucky 50 years or more.
Sentient: Yes
Sapient: Yes
Means of Sustenance: Meat and Blood from fish and other sea creatures. {{Though she only takes blood from warm blood animals but doesn't kill them}}
Favorite Food Source:{{water}} Crustations. Sea Anemities. and Fish as well as Algae and Squid. {{land}} rabbits and squirrels for meat and larger land animals for blood.
Major Competition: Sharks and Orcas and Males like her.
Mating Rituals: There is no courtship. If a male is lucky in impressing the female in anyway he can, he gets to mate. If the male is lucky they mate in open water. mating season is during the same time as with whales and dolphins since the Snake Hybrids are safe during this time.
Reproduction: Snake Hybrids gestation lasts for a year before they give birth to live young. Twins is rare but not unheard of.
Organization: meets with members of its species for the mating season, other wise they are solitary people. its rare to see two females together unless is mother and daughter for the first 20 years. the son leaves after ten years.
Other: Snake Hybrids are born in the ocean but can breath on land, but they are more susceptible to sickness and attacks on land than in water. They are also adaptable to both fresh water and salt water. A female Snake Hybrid is solitary while male Snake Hybrids roam in packs. Males mature faster than females, hint the reason why the males leave after ten years, while the females stay an extra ten years. During this time the mother teaches her daughter everything she needs to know to survive. They also migrate with the whales, feeding off them during the migration run.

Creature TemplateFeel free to use this following template for your creatures. You can add on to it or remove things from it as you wish or not use it at all.

Name: Echinoderm
Appearance: Composed of epidermal skin layers layered with calcite, varying colors and species.
Role: prey/producer
Habitat: At the bottom of sand bars, on the shore under rocks.
Life-span: Up to 50 years
Sentient: Yes
Sapient: No
Means of Sustenance: Absorbing near by minerals through means of siphoning and sifting. Scavenger.
Favourite Food Source: Clams, scallops, left over remains.
Major Competition: Crustaceans
Mating Rituals: Gather during the course of a new moon, in the darkness they create new offspring. The neap tide offers a new opportunity and their young will be developed by full moon.
Reproduction: Though capable of reproduction, a severed limb can survive on it's own and develop a new set of lungs.
Organization: This creature can often be found next to others of kin. They rely heavily on the influence of the moon. They do not leave the surface of the water however like their rivals.
Other: They flourish under piers, marinas, ports and harbors. When sailors catch them they have to throw them back instead of cutting them up (up to 5 new ones could be created). They are the closet relative to humanity their five limbs serve as contracting levers. Their mouth and lungs are closely related. They move at a pace that is slow compared to their rivals so they have adapted their skin's elasticity to withstand the weight of large boulders. They are most vulnerable when a severed limb is alone and exposed crustaceans that dwell at the cold depths are able to devour them. They can have over 5 limbs however and may choose to detach one at any time. Possibly inspiring the Hydra which Hera created after a crab pinched Hercules toe and was crushed. The constellation of cancer was created in honor of the crab which lurks in darkness.
