Coveted Power

Clara looked back towards the collapsing arena as the dark-haired man pulled her along. She had just remembered about Jonathan. Where was he? Was he trapped inside the rubble?

"Jonathan!" Clara yelled when she noticed Jonathan standing by the rubble filled hole.

The dark-haired man jerked back Clara's arm and stared at her threateningly. However, he stopped when he noticed that Jonathan had escaped from the earthquake. He paused for a moment and stared while continuing to hold on tightly to Clara, thinking about his options.

Should he take the boy? The boy was weak, but he could still potentially have enough energy to fight back. He looked down at Clara who was fighting to break his grasp on her. Both of them contained great power that could help him with his plans, however, Clara was much easier control. Of course though, the boy did seem to listen to him when he had threatened to kill Clara. He could easily kill her right now if he wanted to. But, what if the boy did manage to stop him? He had none of his minions with him to defend him. It would be too risky.

The dark-haired man sent shocks of pain down Clara's arm and into the rest of her body. It felt like her whole body was being torn apart. She fell to the ground and began writhing in pain. She was in so much pain that she couldn't even think.

The dark-haired man threw Clara over his shoulder since she was immobilized. Clara moaned faintly as he carried her into the woods away from the destroyed arena and Jonathan. However, he noticed something strange beginning to happen.

A very strong wind was beginning to blow in. It didn't seem to be coming from a specific direction. The wind was erratic and uncontrolled. Dark storm clouds started to blow over and cover the moon and stars, the only light now being the occasional flash of lighting within the clouds. The dark-haired man stared up at them warily.

Was this her power?

Jonathan heard someone yelling his name but couldn't really react to the sound, his mind was too fuzzy to make out what was going on around him. He flinched as he felt a sudden pain going through his entire body. But it wasn't his pain, it came from someone else. He turned his head just in time to see the immobilized girl being thrown onto the dark-haired man's shoulder before he carried her deeper into the woods. "Clara." He whispered, feeling the panic rise inside him. He couldn't really think about what to do, he simply just acted.

He started to follow the two, at first it went too slowly but after a while he were able to pick up the speed. He didn't even notice how quickly the weather had changed, he didn't notice the dark clouds nor the lightning. He just followed the familiar sound of Clara's mind. But even if he found her, what could he do? He would most likely kill himself if he would be able to use his powers again, and it was even more likely that he wouldn't be able to use them at all. But he couldn't think that rationally.

Soon he even started to run after them, every inch of his body hurt and his breath became heavier. He ran into many trees because of the dark, but he was so out of it so he would probably have done that even if it was the middle of the day. The only reason he knew that he was getting close to them was because he heard her mind. He couldn't hear any thoughts, couldn't see any images or feel anything from her mind, he simply just heard her mind close by. Then he finally got to them. What had felt like hours might have just been a minute or two.

His eyes had now gotten used to the dark and as he got closer to her mind he could see the silhouette of someone. "Clara." He yelled, knowing that her mind was close enough for her to hear him but not knowing if she was conscious or not.

Clara felt the pain slowly ebb from her body. It felt extremely strange to feel pain yet not be injured. Her body felt weak and slightly numb and her head dizzy. She lifted her head slightly when she heard Jonathan yell. His voice sounded far away and echoed in her head. It took her mind a while to register what was happening. She realized she was being carried by the dark-haired man. She started to kick and punch the man's back weakly.

Another jolt of pain raced through her body. Her body ceased all motion. She then felt a wave of calm go over her. The dark-haired man was trying to subdue her once again. However, the sudden pain he had caused her followed by the calm feeling was creating conflict within her mind. To be in pain yet feel calm felt too unnatural and she began to feel the stress on her body and mind rise. Suddenly, Clara felt energy begin to race through her body.

The dark-haired man threw Clara off of him as he began to feel shocks of energy flow into his body. His limbs shook and he clutched at his head in pain. He stared with wide eyes as Clara slowly started to float up from the forest floor. There was a great whirlwind surrounding her and her eyes glowed with energy.

Clara could feel nothing except the insane amount of energy that flowed within her body. She couldn't think straight. She could no longer remember what was going on. All that she knew was that she had to get rid of the energy that was continually building within her.

The dark-haired man suspected that he could no longer control the situation. He had already used up most of his power, and Clara's mind looked to be impossible to reach. She looked like a living bomb that was nearly ready to explode. Knowing that there was nothing he could do, he turned and ran. He ran towards Jonathan and pushed him out of the way and continued onward, then seemingly vanished into the darkness.

Clara could feel the energy within herself reaching peak levels. The air around her moved around her like a mini tornado and the clouds above began to swirl down toward her. Her whole body was glowing brightly. She let out a shrill scream.

There was a loud boom. Bolts of lightning arched out and struck in random directions, one just missing Jonathan, and the force of the explosion caused nearby trees to be flattened.

Jonathan forced his body forward, until the moment when he felt something completely wrong with Clara's brain pattern. He stopped and watched as she float into the air, the man that had been holding her seemed to be in pain for some seconds but the pulled himself together. Then he ran, Jonathan got pushed towards the side as the dark haired man passed him. Jonathan fell down on the ground and couldn't find the energy to get up.

A small tornado seemed to be surrounding Clara and the lightning were striking down everywhere. One almost hit Jonathan. Was it Clara who did all that? That's when it became clear for Jonathan. She wasn't taken because of him, it was just a coincidence that they had met the day those weird people had decided to take them.

As another bolt of lightning shot down dangerously close to him he forced himself up on his knees. But it was impossible to get up on his feet. There was no energy left in him for that. Clara's mind had become a blur for him, it was harder to read than when they had first met. He had to make her calm down somehow or else they might both die, or at least he would.

"Clara, its me, Jonathan." He screamed, trying to be louder than the thunder. "Remember me? We met on the market earlier today." He continued as he tried to push himself closer to her. He knew that she didn't know what was going on, her mind was only trying to release the energy. He just had to find something that made her stop. "You have to calm down, so that you can return to your family. They are probably worried you know. We should get back to the inn, show them that you're alright. So please Clara, calm down." He couldn't make it one more inch closer to her, he was too exhausted. He just wished it all would be over, and they could return to the city. And then in the morning he could return home to an angry brother whom would yell at him for not coming home during the night even though he said he would. And he wanted to sleep, what wouldn't he give for a calm place to sleep at? He just wanted both of them to get out of that horrible situation.

Clara seemed to have no control over her body. Her mind was a complete mess as well. It only focused on getting rid of whatever had caused her to feel stressed, not realizing that the source of the tortured feelings had already left. Her eyes darted all around her searching for any sort of threat. They saw a small form on the ground not far from her. Was it an enemy? The wind whipped around her even faster in order to protect her. However, she could faintly hear a voice echoing softly in her mind. It sounded familiar. Her mind remembered calm feelings associated with the voice.

The swirling winds around Clara slowly started to dissipate and she began to float back towards the ground while the bright aura around her started to flicker and fade. Her feet landed softly on the ground, and her blond curls floated down and flowed onto her back and shoulders. She blinked her eyes as she tried to focus on Jonathan, the light fading from them as she did. Her steps were shaky and uncoordinated as she walked towards him.

"Jonathan?" she whispered, her voice sounding hoarse. The energy she had before had gone and she was left feeling weak and dizzy. She strained to focus her eyes upon him. It was completely dark now that the lightning had stopped and her own body had stopped glowing. All she could do was walk towards where she thought she had heard his voice. She stumbled a lot over the roots and rocks that were scattered in the area.

As she walked the clouds above started to drift away and the moon's light shone through. She gasped when she saw the devastation. There were many broken and flattened trees in the area and scorch marks covering the ground.

"What happened..." she breathed, her eyes wide in horror. She then began to remember the light and energy that she had felt around her earlier. "What did I do?..." she whispered to herself. Her eyes then saw the state Jonathan was in. She ran towards him and flung her arms around him. "I'm sorry!" she cried as tears began to stream down her face. She believed that she was the reason for his pain, that she had hurt him when she was in her frenzied state.

It seemed to work, the storm started to fade and Clara came back to consciousness. All the energy that she had was now gone and Jonathan could hear her thoughts much more clear than ever before and he had no energy to turn it off. But he had no energy to feel ashamed for looking into her mind either.

He heard her steps coming closer, and he noticed her confusion as she saw the destruction around her. Then she saw him and her arms was around him just a moment later. He laid his arms loosely around her since he didn't have the energy to give her a proper hug."Its not your fault." He tried to tell her, but knew that there was no time to explain it at the moment. They had to get away from there before that man came back with backup. He wasn't completely certain that the man would be back, but there was quite a big chance that he would. "Listen, we need to leave now. I know you're tired, but we have to go." He told her even though had no idea if he himself would be able to take a single step.

Clara pulled away from Jonathan and looked at him doubtfully. She believed that he was only telling her it wasn't her fault to make her feel better. Of course, those strange people from before most likely didn't do anything nice to Jonathan. What was he even doing in that place at the end of the tunnel? Why had they put him there? She then remembered seeing him move the earth and rock to block the way for the people that had been pursuing her. Did they capture him for the same reason that she was then? For his power? She would have to ask him about it later.

Clara nodded in agreement when Jonathan said they should leave. She shakily stood up and waited for Jonathan to do the same. She didn't know where the dark-haired man was, but she didn't want to risk meeting him again. Memories of her time in captivity began to flow into her mind, the eerie stare and smile of the dark-haired man, the terrible visions he gave her, and also the strange masked man with the long deadly fingers and scary memory reading ability. This made her think, what if they could use her memories to find her? The masked man had seen her past. He would know where she lived. She held her arms around her chest with a worried expression as she thought about what would happen if she met them again.

With a lot of effort Jonathan were able to get up on his unsteady feet. "We should follow the forest for a while before trying to get out of it. Its less chance that we will get seen from the woods in the middle of the night. But we should try to stay in the outcast of it so we can find a road and then see if we can meet someone passing by that can help us. But if we see someone suspicious then we'll just hide instead." He said, wondering if it was such a good idea to trust someone passing by on the road. They could as well just meet their capturers and be taken back. On the other hand, Jonathan could read their mind if they were normal people so as long as their thoughts were clearly visible and didn't seem suspicious then they could take the chance. But if they didn't find help then they would be an easy target if found. No one of them had energy to fight at the moment.

The long walk started, it didn't take them long to get to the edge of the forest where they could see a road not too far from their spot. It would have been much easier to walk on that road since there weren't any roots and trees everywhere. But it was also more dangerous. Since he couldn't read that crazy mans mind and he didn't want to take the risk of going out there. He might not be able to notice if the man sneaked up on them. He felt his head getting heavier and if Clara said something then he probably didn't hear it. It was as if his body were walking on the last reserves and his mind couldn't keep up at all.

Then he fainted.

Clara nodded at Jonathan's suggestion. It was best that they be careful. She followed silently behind him, worried that the people might hear them and find them again. Soon, they arrived at a road. However, it was deserted, though that was understandable considering how late it was. As they were walking though, she noticed Jonathan begin to slow down and sway a bit as he walked.

"Jonathan?" she asked in a concerned voice, "Are you ok?" He didn't answer her, but it was evident what kind of state he was when he simply fainted. Luckily she had been nearby because she had been worried and was able to catch him before he fell.

"Jon! Wake up, Jonathan!" pleaded Clara. She was smaller compared to Jonathan and not very strong so it was difficult for her to hold him. She couldn't just leave him there on the road though. She ended up carrying/dragging him to the side of the road where some bushes were and a large tree.

What would she do now? She was too weak to carry Jonathan. Really, she barely had enough energy to even carry herself. All she could do now was wait for someone to come or for Jonathan to wake up. She just hoped that their kidnappers didn't return. She sat down and leaned against the large tree and waited.

Clara waited for what seemed like an age. But then, in the distance she noticed a light. As it got closer she saw that it was a lantern. There was a carriage coming their way.

Jareth sat on his carriage and whistled a happy melody. It was very late, but he didn't mind. After having worked in a town close to his village he had gone to an inn and gotten caught up in conversations with some beautiful girls. Too bad no one of them were interested in him the same way he was in them. He never seemed to have any luck with the ladies. But he still felt in a good mood and kept on whistling.

The road was completely abandoned. Or at least that was what he thought until he noticed something a bit away from the road. It looked like someone was lying at a tree, but it was a bit too dark for him to see them clearly. Could it be thieves? No, they usually hid really well and didn't get noticed before it was too late. Was it a homeless person? Possibly. Maybe someone was hurt. He wasn't even certain if there really was a person there since they weren't moving. They could be sleeping. Or it could be some bushes and trees that were formed weirdly.

"Hello? Someone's over there?" He asked just to make sure. If someone was hurt and needed help then he would feel bad if he just left, but if someone just slept outside because they felt like it then he could move on.

Now that the carriage was close Clara could see the person on the carriage and hear them whistling a happy tune. The person looked normal to her. Should she ask them for help? She looked back at Jonathan who was still unconscious by the tree. They needed help.

Clara stepped out from the bushes and onto the road. "Hello," she said weakly as the carriage came close "Um, c-could you uh... help me?" Her expression and movements looked very nervous, her arms being wrapped tightly around her chest and her doe-like blue eyes looking slightly watery. It was evident from her appearance that she had been through a lot. Her blue dress had dirt stains all over and even a few burns, her blond curls were tangled with leaves, and her eyes had dark circles under from crying so much and because of fatigue.

A girl rose from the bushes and went onto the road. So he hadn't imagined seeing something human-like lying in the dark. Her dress had probably been very beautiful once, but now it was stained with dirt and some burns, even her hair was a mess. What had happened to her Jareth wondered.

"You okay?" Jareth exclaimed as he almost jumped down from the carriage, almost forgetting to stop the horse first. He wondered if she had been violated by someone, but he also thought that it was bad manners to ask such a question. "Please, sit down on my carriage. The town I'm going to isn't far away. Ah... Don't worry, I'm not suspicious or anything. I live with my sister, she can take care of you." He didn't want to sound like a slave trader that tricked girls on the street to come with him or something like that. He hoped she wouldn't suspect him for having something bad in mind for her.

Clara let out a sigh of relief. The man appeared to be friendly.

"Um thank you," she answered when the man offered her a ride. "But, um, could you take my friend as well" she asked, but before he could answer her she grabbed onto his hand and led him to the tree where Jonathan was lying. Her hand was small and delicate. It was barely able to wrap around his fingers. She then let go of his hand and pointed towards Jonathan. She then attempted to tell the man what had happened, but just ended up rambling in the end.

"He f-fainted and I tried to carry him but he was too heavy and I'm sorry for causing you any trouble, and I hope I'm not troubling you too much, and it's so late and we were both just so tiredandthenhefaitedandIdidn'tknowwhattodooo..."

She stopped abruptly when she realized that she was repeating herself again. A faint blush covered her cheeks and she looked down at the ground awkwardly.

"Um, sorry about that... you can help us though?" She asked as she looked up with hopeful eyes.

So she weren't alone. He wondered if the one she wanted to help was a sibling or fiance or something. The girl started to rambling and she was clearly in shock.

"Don't worry, go and sit in the carriage and I'll help him there. Okay? Everything will be alright." He talked slowly and pushed her arm gently to make her go back to the carriage while he would take care of the man. He didn't have the heart to ask what had happened to them, it seemed like something awful and he probably didn't want to know about it.

He took Jonathan's arm and laid it over his shoulder and then lifted. Jonathan were smaller than him so it wasn't too hard as long as he didn't try to lift the whole body. Jareth wasn't weak but not extremely strong either, of course he wouldn't be able to lift a full grown man so he simply had to let Jonathan's legs drag on the ground. He laid the teenager carefully on the carriage and made sure he laid steadily enough so he wouldn't roll out.

"We'll be in the village in less than an hour, you should probably get some sleep." He told the girl, noticing well how tired she was. Shock and tiredness was never a good combination.

Clara was glad the man didn't ask what had happened to them. She wouldn't of known what to say anyways. She listened to what he had to say and slowly made her way towards the carriage, then pulled herself up and sat and waited for him to bring Jonathan. She cringed slightly when she watched him being half dragged. Hopefully he wouldn't be too sore tomorrow.

Once Jonathan was brought into the carriage she began to feel a wave of tiredness wash over her. Now that Jonathan was safe she had less of a reason to worry and so she had less of a reason to stay awake. She nodded at the man briefly when he mentioned that it would not take them long to get to their village and that she should get some sleep, then laid down in the carriage and nearly instantly fell asleep. It had been a long and chaotic day.

It took them longer than expected to get to the village, Jareth had forgotten that there had been trees falling over the road some days earlier in a storm during the night so he had taken another way to the village that day. This had completely escaped his mind and he had to take a longer way to get around it. But maybe that was lucky, since if he had remembered it then he wouldn't even have found the two of them since that wasn't a road he would have taken in that case.

It was good that the two teenagers were in deep sleep so they wouldn't notice that it took more time than he had told them, but he was worried over their wounds. No one of them seemed to be badly wounded physically, but he wouldn't know for certain before they could take a closer look in the light.

After two hours they had finally able to reach the village and before waking the girl up he went to get his sister and older brother.

"Hey wake up." He shook lightly on Clara's shoulder, trying not to hurt her if she was in pain somewhere. Jareth brother was carrying in Jonathan after a couple of tries to wake him up without success.

"What happened to them?" His sister asked looking after the boy that was carried inside. Luckily the older brother was strong and could carry Jonathan's weight without much problem.
"I have no idea." Jareth confessed.

Clara's eyes fluttered open slowly as she felt someone lightly shake her shoulder. At first she was a bit startled when she saw where she was and sat straight up with wide eyes, but then she looked up at Jareth and remembered that they had let her and Jonathan ride on their carriage. This must be their home she thought to herself.

Clara carefully slid off of the carriage and followed behind Jareth and his siblings. Her steps were still a bit shaky as she was still very tired. Her eyes looked very distant as she followed and she bit at her lip nervously. She was wondering what she would have to tell them. They most likely would ask her what had happened. How could she explain it to them though? She wasn't even sure what had happened to them herself. She knew nearly nothing about magic. Only once had she seen a Mage, but she had never seen them actually use magic. There was one time though that one of the elders at her town told a bunch of the children a tale about a sorcerer.

The elder said that the sorcerer was extremely powerful, but also extremely evil. They used their magic to shape shadows into weapons of darkness. They were also extremely fast and could even fly. People called them the Black Demon. In order to stop them the king gathered a large army. A huge battle ensued. In the end, the sorcerer was defeated, but not without many casualties. However, some believe that the sorcerer never died, that he still lives, hiding within the shadows.

Clara had never liked the story. It always made her feel horrible. That strange black-haired man though, reminded her of them. He was utterly horrible, his eerie smile, his laugh, and his violent nature. She shuddered at the thought of meeting him again.

"Are you hurt anywhere honey?" Jareth's sister Elizabeth asked Clara. "If so then we should probably take a look at it. After that you can go to bed and we can talk tomorrow." She continued. It was clear for all the siblings that the girl was too tired and shocked of whatever had happened earlier that evening, and they didn't expect the boy to wake up before morning.

"I'll go prepare the beds." Jareth said when he noticed that his sister were taking care of Clara, which was probably for the best since she might not feel comfortable with a man she didn't know, and his brother were checking Jonathan for wounds.

He decided to let the girl have his bed and the boy have his brothers bed since they didn't have any guest rooms. He and his brother just had to sleep at the sofa if they decided to sleep. But he doubted that he or any of his siblings would sleep. His sister was worried for the girl and the boy and she would probably not let herself sleep before those two woke up in the morning and didn't seem to be on the edge of death. His brother was probably very curious of what had happened to them and would be up all night thinking of theories, and probably share them with whoever sat up with him. For Jareth himself it was probably a bit of both that would keep him awake.

He changed the bed clothing on both beds before walking down to tell them that it was done. He knew that his brother wouldn't have any complaints about giving up his bed since he probably already had known that it would happen. After all, no one of them would let their sister sleep on the sofa and they wouldn't let an injured boy sleep on the sofa either, nor an injured young girl. So there was really no choice.

Clara shook her head when Elizabeth asked if she was hurt. She wasn't hurt, at least not physically, but she was very tired. All she wanted then was to fall right back asleep. It was the only thing she could think about.

When it was time, Clara followed Elizabeth to the bed that had been prepared for her and plopped herself on top. "Thank you," she whispered as laid down and her eyes began to flutter closed. Not long after she was asleep.

Clara had strange dreams that night. She dreamt that she was standing at the edge of a large cliff over a stormy sea. Lightning crackled and thunder boomed in the dark clouds that swirled around above her, and a strong wind whipped around her. She felt afraid. However, she was not afraid of the storm, or the sea, it was what was standing before her that frightened her.

In front of Clara stood the dark-haired man and the tall masked man. The masked man stood motionlessly, his black cloak whipping around him in the wind, while the the man with the dark hair slowly walked towards her with his wicked grin. His black hair moved like shadowy tendrils in the wind and his deep violet eyes like that of a demon, staring hungrily at its prey.

Clara backed away slowly towards the edge of the cliff. Soon though, she ran out of room. She turned to look over her shoulder and saw the dark waves crashing against the spear-like rocks below. Nervousness and fear began to well up inside her. The lightning above crackled and the thunder boomed loudly in return. A bolt of lightning shot down from the sky and hit Clara. She felt a huge amount energy rush through her body. Her whole body radiated with the energy of the lightning bolt. With her new energy, she advanced towards the dark-haired man and the masked man, but then it was over.

The scene changed and Clara was instead in a forest. She peered around curiously, wondering how she had gotten there. In the distance she saw smoke. She walked towards it. Eventually, she arrived at the place where the smoke had been coming from.

Clara was in a small village, but the village was destroyed and smoke and fire drifted off of demolished houses. Something bad had happened here, but she did not know what. She continued onward. Then, she began to hear a faint sound, the sound of someone crying.

Clara looked behind a broken stone wall to see a woman sitting in a pile of ash, her hands covering her face, and her body heaving with sobs.

"Um... are y-you ok?" Clara asked awkwardly. She then felt stupid for asking such a thing when the woman was evidently in distress.

The woman paused, then slowly lowered her hands from her face and turned around. When she saw Clara, her eyes opened wide with surprise, her expression looking to be a mix of fear and disgust.

"Y-you....? It-it's you!" she screamed in horror. "You monster!," she yelled as she quickly stood up and backed away "How could you do such a thing?!"

Clara's brow furrowed as she stared at the woman perplexed. "Monster," she had called her. Why? She didn't know what to say.

"You killed them!," the woman screamed.

Clara looked around, continuing to be confused. She then noticed the various scorch marks in the area, and signs of an explosion. She began to remember when she was in the forest with Jonathan, the storm, and her loss of control. Had it happened again? Did she really kill the people in this village?

Tears began to stream down Clara's face as she thought about the possibility that she might have harmed and killed other people. She shook her head, as if to try and shake the dark thoughts from her mind. Then she ran, as if by doing so she could escape what she had done.

Clara's body shivered and she cried as she dreamed her dark dreams.

((Sorry that I haven't posted in so long >_< I've been busy, and then I got writer's block. '__'))

Elizabeth helped Clara into bed as fast as it was ready and the girl fell asleep immediately. Just as Jareth had predicted no one of his siblings went to bed. He helped his brother to carry Jonathan up the stairs and put him into the other bed, after that they sat down in the kitchen on the bottom floor and waited. They speculated a bit of what could have happened but knew that they wouldn't get any answers before those two woke up in the morning. They decided to leave the girl alone during the night since she wasn't hurt and they didn't want to wake her up, so they never walked into her room and never saw her having nightmares. But they did walk into Jonathan's room a bit now and then for two reasons. They still didn't know if he was hurt anywhere, they only knew that he wasn't hurt where they could see, and because he hadn't been awake while taken there so he didn't know where he was. If something bad had happened to them, which it obviously had, then he might wake up in panic because he wouldn't have any idea where he was.

Jonathan found himself back in town, how had he gotten there? He walked past the stable where his horse and cat still waited, Maja, Altivo. He was so relieved that they were still there. How long had he been gone? Not for long he supposed since Altivo was still there, his brother would have gotten into town if he had been away for a couple of days and then taken Altivo back before trying to find him.

He continued walking to an inn, he didn't care about the humans around him but something felt odd. He just couldn't figure out what. Once he got to the inn he nodded to one of the men he walked past, but he didn't even give him a glance, it was as if he didn't even see him.

"That's rude." Jonathan mumbled to himself and walked into the inn. Would Clara be there? He should have returned with her. As he walked in he got a major shock. He saw himself standing there with Clara and some people he didn't recognize. Maybe her family. How could he be in two places at one time? They seemed to be arguing about something, but Jonathan didn't walk close enough to listen. He stumbled back and walked right through another person, that person didn't even notice him. It was as if he were a ghost.

Then he noticed, he didn't hear anyone's thoughts. "What's going on?" He asked out loud but no one looked at him. He ran towards the place Clara, her family and he himself was.

"Dejavu" The other Jonathan said as he seemed to be in deep thoughts. The 'ghost' Jonathan stared at his copy for a second before looking down at the table. Two papers with the words wanted on them and then Jonathan's and Clara's names and sketches of them. What? Where they wanted? Why? They had never done anything wrong, at least he hadn't. He couldn't imagine Clara having done anything.

"What's going on Clara?" He asked and took his hands towards her shoulders but he just went right through her.

***

Jonathan woke up in cold sweat and were just about to scream when he saw the shadow leaning over him but a hand covered his mouth just in time to stop him.
"Ssh, its okay. Your friend is sleeping in the other room. Don't worry, you're safe here." The male told him. "I'm Adam, my little brother took you here when he found you two on the way." He explained before letting go of Jonathan's mouth.

It took some minutes before Jonathan could grasp the situation but somehow he were able to pull himself together after a while. He walked down with Adam and into the kitchen where the others were and they all introduced themselves. After that they sat and talked for some hours, Jonathan got some food even though he had first said no since he didn't have any way to pay them back, but they had insisted. They told him how to get back to the city he came from and even offered both of them a ride since Adam were going to pass by that city on his way to Illan, a marketplace two days away from where they were.

"Its just half a day to that town and it will only take me a couple of extra hours to take that road so I can give you two a ride." Adam had told Jonathan. Jonathan would rather have been let off a bit earlier on the way since they would pass by a road that would lead him home. It would only take a couple of hours to walk home if he jumped off in a certain crossroad. But he couldn't leave Clara on her own and he had to get Maja and Altivo first.
