He genetically engineered them, giving them the power to become their alter ego. a Being that is them, but has a strengthened personality, and physically stronger. He then sent them to an Orphanage, where they were adopted by different families, but they were in the same neighborhood. They grew up with a great friendship, but once they learn the truth... they will have to defeat something beyond humanity
