Ann smiled back to Alicia then came over and gently moved some stray wind-moved strands of hair back, tucking them safely behind the girl's ear once more. She stood to the younger girl's left and held her hand out for her to take. She was glad of the small gesture from Ricchon, glad they would walk together out the gate to go on this trip though she would of liked to hold his hand. They could be strong together.

Alicia Winters.jpg Alicia Winters

Surrounded by support and friendship by at least two of the three people she was counting on was enough for Alicia to calm herself just slightly so that she could take a deep breath and focus on the sights. The calming presence of the rare pieces of nature in Baltimore city had her focusing on the beauty of the environment rather than the dangerous inhabitants... Jameson's hand on her back/shoulder area made her look at him with a calm yet curious expression. It was an odd gesture, comforting yet also expressing a firmness to keep her moving forward despite her fear. It made Alicia feel pressured yet reassured that if she really couldn't handle it that someone would be there to help her... Ann on the other hand offered herself in a more friendly manner, a hand to hold for guidance and strength. Alicia much preferred a hand to squeeze and was grateful for the offer, her reaching out and taking it. Her hands were sweaty from anxiety and she was still slightly trembling but she gathered her courage and swallowed before she spoke in a near whisper, loud enough to hear but it was intended for herself "Alright... I can do this! There's nothing to be afraid of with friends at your side" She starts to move forward with the group, determined to stay with Mr Powers and the rest of the orphans. Yet she was not one to keep her gratitude unspoken. She looked to her left and right, speaking to Ann and Jameson both "Thank you... I don't think I would ever make a decision like this without you supporting me. Perhaps I never will again. I guess... it all depends on what happens today" She was nervous yet was putting on a brave face and trying to truly express her gratitude to these two

Jameson didn't like the way Ricchon looked at him, but he had more important things to worry about. Mainly soothing poor Alicia. She was downright terrified still, and he knew he couldn't do all that much to soothe her so he was thankful to Ann for taking the girl's hand. He gave the older girl a brief, grateful look for the gesture and just focused on Alicia, and on a bit of their surroundings as they went to be sure nothing felt wrong.

"Nonsense." He said with a shrug, giving Alicia a smile. "Practice, practice, practice, right? The more you do something, the easier it is. Some day soon you'll be taking these trips like a stroll around the dorms. No problem." He hoped, some day, that she would be granted enough confidence and courage to grow past whatever trauma had left her at the orphanage. Jameson didn't really know any of these other orphans well, being his second day in the place, but he knew enough to know Alicia deserved that.

"The new kid's right," Ricchon said and threw the apple core all the way over to the bin by the entrance. The usually clumsy teen paused shortly in surprise. He hadn't expected the apple core to actually end up inside the bin, but then again he did feel quite powerful...Not wanting to bring his cool winning streak to a halt, Ricchon proceeded nonchalantly, and stood before Alicia seriously with his hands in his duster coat pockets. "Practice. That's the simple factor." There was a simple smile creeping forth on Ricchon's face as he looked down on the terrified girl. A knowing smile. Ricchon had been faced with his demons, and even though he didn't know how Alicia's demons would be like, he knew there was no other way she could keep on living without meeting them head on. Somehow Ricchon felt excited about staying by Alicia's side. Her fear, her powers, and her innocent trust in him- it was amazing to feel what it did to him, though he chose to express this as support for her upcoming challenge rather than a selfish need for one. Controlling his powers once they activated was the big test for him, and the fact that he was afraid of the ordeal made things even greater. When he'd teleported himself and Jameson up on the roof he'd felt so proud, but he needed to do more to prove his worth. The poor, traumatized mafia kid saw no other way than to gain power. Power was everything. He was weak now, and he hated it, but he'd grow stronger, and he would reach invincibility.

Ann returned Alicia's smile happily. She was glad the younger girl was facing her fears, even if they ended up coming back early or something like that. She looked to Jameson and was glad that he had come when he had so that he could be here to be a knight for Alicia too. She was able to not think of her own fears of leaving this place and going out in the world, even under supervision. Her gaze then moved to Ricchon and listened to what he said to the younger girl and rubbed the hand she held. She idn't want Alicia to be trapped in one building for the rest of her life, even just by choice.
